If you’re looking for a festive and enchanting spot to dine during the holiday season, Lillie’s Victorian Establishment in Union Square is a must-visit! We stopped by during Christmas, and the decorations were absolutely stunning—so much attention to detail that it felt like stepping into a Victorian winter wonderland.Although we couldn’t snag a reservation, we were lucky to get bar seating. The bartender and servers were phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and really made the experience memorable. The drinks were the highlight of the evening! I had the Lillian Blanc, and it was perfection—balanced, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Most of the food was great as well, but I have to note that the steak, while cooked perfectly, lacked seasoning. It was a minor letdown in an otherwise fantastic meal.Overall, Lillie’s is a spot I’d happily return to, especially for the ambiance and drinks. With just a tweak to the steak, it would have been a flawless evening. Highly recommend checking it out!
If you don’t have a reservation, good luck getting a seat at the bar! The bar is first come first served and I had to wait for probably 30 or more minutes to snag 2 seats. The place is loud and festive and the decor is fun. The staff isn’t super welcoming but the bartenders were nice. I liked the burger a lot although I could barely taste the cheese. My friend liked her hot honey chicken sandwich and one of the winter cocktails on the menu- think it’s called Mama Claus Is Coming To Town. Overall, glad I went, not sure I’d come back, but it was a fine experience.
We went to a couple of Christmas pop-ups, but Lillies was by far the best! First, the place looked amazing, so decked out with beautiful Christmas decorations. The drinks were so tasty and lots of unique themed to choose from. We also got a couple of appetizers that were delicious. Lastly the staff was wonderful. It was a great experience. Reservations are recommended. We did have a wait since it was packed, but we hawked a couple of barseats. Would definitely come back.
Visited this place yesterday. It was Saturday, but we didnt make reservations and it was not crowded at all. Beautiful ambiance and atmosphere ( this is why we wanted to check this place up) Cocktails absolutely tasty! Service excellent! However, the food was not good at all. We ordered calamari, they were salty. The Nachos was not good at all. I had Cobb Salad and it was just ok. My husband had steak and fries and he didnt like it either. We ordered desert chocolate cheesecake and it was so tasteless. If you plan to visit this place have dinner somewhere else ,but come here for great drinks, ambiance and music.
Food: Food was nothing to write home about. It was not good, but it also wasn’t horrible. The calamari was too salty, and also rubbery. The salmon was dry and had too much lemon sauce/dill trying to cover that up. The mashed potatoes, however, were great. The seafood pasta dish was alright. The pasta was was cooked okay, the sauce was actually good, but the seafood was not good. The same rubbery calamari were in this dish.Service: Excellent. My glass always had water and the waiter came to make sure we had what we needed often.Atmosphere: the restaurant is beautiful with a vintage charm.Price: I get that it’s in a high rent area, but the price paid was in no way worth the food, and no amount of excellent service could make up for it.
Eating at Lillie’s @ Union Square was my most favorite part of our NYC at Christmas family trip! The food was amazing, the decorations- OMG- gotta see it to believe it- pictures don’t do it justice. We had a cocktail with habanero tequila that was unreal! Worth a trip to NYC just to eat here at Christmas! A definite must!
Had a reservation for 6:00 and didn’t get seated until 10 minutes later. Service was average, the server did their job. The water they brought out smelled like pool water and had a strange aftertaste. The cocktail was the best part of my meal; I ordered a chicken sandwich which tasted like McDonald’s. One of my friends ordered the wagyu bacon cheeseburger that had limp bacon and a poorly seasoned patty, but had fresh crispy lettuce! My other friend ordered the gnocchi which was fine. Our total bill was overpriced for the quality of food we received. Would NOT recommend to visit this place just for the food, honestly the drinks and the decorations were the highlight. Would be great as just a bar.
Great Christmas restaurant the atmosphere was great. The food was fine, but the decorations made up for it. The French fries were very good.
Hard to enjoy yourself when you cant even take off your jacket because of how packed it is. Steak was mostly fat so we couldnt eat it. The chicken sliders had more bread, pickles, and batter than actual chicken. Everything was served cold. Bathroom was vile with throw up and toilet paper everywhere. Hostess was nice and fries had good seasoning. Very upset because the decorations were so cute.
This place is gorgeous. The food and drinks were made to perfection. The staff were marvelous and attentive. Highly recommended.
This place doesn’t know what it wants to be, and that’s not a good thing. The longer you look at it as a whole, the worse it gets. We had to move to a table because the bar area smelled horrible, and even though 5 different servers came to take our order, they lost our drinks for 45 minutes, insisting every time they were trying to “find them.” The early 2010’s pop music taints and confuses the “Victorian” vibe (even though most of the decor was made in the 50’s onward), and no one around us who ordered food was eating any of it, just picking politely. They get a star because when the espresso martini I ordered finally came, it was excellent. Cherry on top though, they garnished my friend’s drink with hydrangea, which is poisonous to humans.
Drinks, bar, bartender and atmosphere were all on point. Decor was super festive.Sadly for me we walked in without a reservation and the place was way too packed and maybe they shouldnt have let people in if there is no room for people to sit or stand even. The staff/waiters kinda rudely moved us around a few too many times. Probably cant blame them.
We were there on Christmas day. The setting is incredibly beautiful, the food really good, but unfortunately the service is not. That day there were problems in the kitchen and in the dining room for sure. I hope that day was a particular exception. We arrived at 2. At 2.30 the waiter arrived to finally order after half an hour of waiting and we lost further time then because we had not been advised that there was a fixed menu for that day. After 1 hour and a half the first course arrived, just for me. My boyfriends dish arrived 45 minutes after mine. Afterwards we waited 1 hour for the main course. While I was finishing eating they brought us the hot desserts which cooled down while I finished eating the dish before. I had never seen something like this in my life in a restaurant. The service experience was very bad. They gave us a $50 discount on the bill and apologized, but when you wait all those hours to eat, it unfortunately ruins your day. We were still very understanding towards them, but there was a lot of disappointment on our part. If I went back to New York I wouldnt go back. Or I wouldnt go there on holidays.
The food is as expected so 3 stars. It meets the standard. It’s cooked well but the servings are small for the value. I got the pot pie and she got the grilled chicken. The cocktails are amazing, although the spicy margarita got sent back bc it was literally too spicy to drink, they replaced it for free, obv. The whiskey sour and the frozen knees were excellent. The service was not attentive and it didn’t meet the minimum standard. Wait staff needs to be more attentive overall. However, the atmosphere is AMAZING. If you’re gonna come here at night, get drinks at the bar and you’ll be happy. If you want food, go for brunch or lunch. I think you’ll have a better experience than for dinner. Club music during dinner, we ate at 8pm so maybe a little aggressive for so early. Overall I’m gonna say 3.5 stars. This place can do better and they should.
Without a doubt, the café boasts an intriguing interior. We visited when it was adorned with white bears in a winter theme. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Cocktails were also artfully crafted. There were few people, as we visited on a Sunday. We were highly satisfied with the service.
Really enjoyed a relaxed dinner here, book a table ahead of time. The ambience is fancy and comforting. We shared the salmon tartare appetizer, steak & fries, and pistachio tartufo. For drinks, I loved the Lillian Bland which was fruity, sweet and beautiful.
Delicious, does not cover the quality of the food and mixed drinks. Its awesome! Chicken pot pie is gourmet quality. Try a cocktail, worth it. Great vibe and atmosphere.
Good vibe with awesome Christmas decorations. The cocktails were good however the service was absolutely terrible. They tucked us at the very back side and we had to ask for cutlery, had to go up to server and ask for water, the food came cold and late and they barely checked in on us. Would not recommend going for dinner.
December 2024: Highly recommend if you like being surrounded by floor to ceiling Christmas decorations, 60’s & 70’s music and don’t mind tight spaces with lots of tables. We enjoyed the experience at the Times Square area Lillian’s. We had a friendly and efficient waitress—very much enjoyed the chicken pot pie, hamburger and French fries. Beautiful decorations! Be sure to see the back of the restaurant’s Christmas displays, too!
Don’t buy any food here it’s terrible. However they make great drinks and the atmosphere is A+. Service is great - very attentive staff! There are definitely better places in NYC but worth a stop if you are in town around Christmas time.
The food was fine, the service was good, but the atmosphere?! 11/10!! We ordered the tea time for 2, and it was a pretty spread and everything tasted fine, but if we are honest we came for the decor. And boy does this place know how to decorate for Halloween! There were so many details it was hard to look away. It was so, so fun! If youre looking for a fun, Halloweeny place to eat, youve found it!
This place is a must see Im talking about Christmas wall to wall Christmas music The staff theyre so nice The food was even good Great place to take your family to
Food, drinks and decor were absolutely amazing. The waitress could have been more attentive but I wont let that take away from the overall experience. It felt very magical and whimsical. Enjoyed my mothers day brunch.
Very nicely decorated, a great atmosphere. The food and drinks were good! It was a bit busy and our server would take a bit long to come back and check on us. Other then that this is a great place to go to
Are you in the city for the holidays and looking for a place to take pretty pictures while you dine and drink? Well, look no further!Starting from their victorian decor, to the over-the-board holiday decorations; everything was perfect. I love what they do to this place during Christmas time in particular since it captures the vibe so well.Food (3.5/5): They dont have that many options for dinner but youll find a pretty good selection of classic western dish like grilled salmon, steak, burgers, chicken, etc. I thought their food wasnt going to be that good but it was actually pretty tasty! You could also go here for afternoon tea or just drinks so your choice!Vibe (5/5): This is obviously why most people go here, look at all those pictures!Definitely worth a visit if youre in town for the holidays but make sure to book ahead!
This feels like the epitome of an Instagram restaurant. Flashy without any taste. We came here for afternoon tea and it was so disappointing. First, their tier didn’t have any scones, which I think is to be expected with tea (with cream and jam!). Second, all of the pastries were absolutely awful. They tasted like the pastries you’d get on the street corner. Third, the bread on the sandwiches was absolutely stale. We also really didn’t like the decor or the loud blaring music, but that may just be our taste. Frankly, it was just too expensive to pay for lackluster food. And they only had like 4 tea choices. Overall, would not recommend. I did think the stuffed hares on the wall were funny though.
Very nice decor for Christmas. Food was also good, but the service from the bartender was slow. Theres a voucher online for brunch, and it seemed no one knew about it. After eating, it took about an hour just to get everything sorted and billed.
I had such high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a terrible experience. Let me start with the positive: the ambiance itself is absolutely stunning. It’s beautifully decorated, incredibly festive, and really captures the holiday spirit. It’s definitely worth seeing if you’re looking for a picture-perfect Christmas setting. However, everything else about the experience was deeply disappointing. First, getting a reservation is a nightmare. You need to plan three to four weeks in advance, as anything closer to your desired date is almost impossible to book. Even with a reservation, it seems pointless because once you arrive, you still don’t actually have a table. My reservation was for 8:00 PM, yet I had to wait an additional 20 minutes before being seated. When I finally got inside, the restaurant was completely overcrowded. It was so packed that you could barely move without bumping into someone, and the noise level was overwhelming. The chaos completely ruined the otherwise charming atmosphere. It felt more like being in a crowded train station than in a cozy, festive restaurant. In the end, I decided not to eat there at all. Despite the lovely decorations, the overcrowding, excessive noise, and poor organization made it an uncomfortable and unenjoyable experience. It’s a shame because with better crowd management, it could have been wonderful.I would recommend only visiting for a quick look at the decor, but honestly, unless they limit the number of guests to match their actual capacity, it’s not worth the hassle. Very disappointing overall.
This rating is purely for service, drinks, ambiance and aesthetics. I didn’t have the food, so cannot comment on it.After walking for what felt like hours in extremely cold weather, we came across Lillie’s Victorian Establishment. Finally, we found a kind bouncer who offered us shelter from the cold. As soon as we walked in, it was cozy and warm. The ambiance was chill and aesthetics gave off elegant fun. The bartender took our orders immediately and came back with elegant creations. Truly works of arts. They also tasted as wonderful as they looked. It was hard to not just stare at them because they were beautiful. This is a place you definitely go to for what I call a grown experience! You sit, enjoy a well crafted drink and some good conversation. If this is what you’re looking for, go no further. Will be revising this establishment!
This place is a must see! The atmosphere is amazing with Alice and wonderland theme everywhere. Wait staff was not attentive but the restaurant was busy when we were there. Food was good, prices not bad and a great overall experience!
Cool place to have Afternoon Tea or Basic Brunch. The Burger was good. Atmosphere is super cool. Highly recommend making a reservation. The place is a bit small and usually booked unless you want to dine at the bar.
Service on a Wednesday was slow. I went by myself and to order a drink took well over 30 mins. For a second drink another 30 mins. Bartenders were more focused on the other end of the bar. Cocktails in menu were a certain price, only to find out that liquor is charged separately. Neighbor guests were complaining about the same thing. Two cocktails advertised at $16 were actually $48 because the liquor is separate. This experience was tacky and one of the worst ones I’ve had in this area. I don’t recommend. Ambiance was decent but not worth it when there’s literally amazing bars and restaurants nearby. Avoid!
Fantastic restaurant to get you in the Christmas spirit. Decorations are amazing. I would recommend booking in advance to avoid waiting. We arrived an hour early for our reservation but were seated straight away. We had fish and chips, the chicken pie and a burger on our table and everyone was really happy with the food. My daughter was on her 5th consecutive burger in NYC and she said this was the best ! Staff were helpful and pleasant throughout, would recommend.
A CHRISTMAS EXPLOSION! If you love Christmas and you love New York this is the place for you! Not one spot is free...full of christmas decorations! The vibe is incredible! An experience! Food was good but the atmosphere is what captures your heart!
Really cute place, went in December and it was beautiful. It’s always packed so I sorted at the bar and it was difficult to get the bartender attention but overall it was fine.
Amazing ambiance. But the absolute worst service!! We just ordered drinks for the table. It wasn’t crowded and the server took forever to get the drinks after the bartender had already made them. My drink(scotch on the rocks) was diluted. I understand they might be understaffed for Labour day but I could see the server just chatting. No excuse to be so late on service !! Also had to pay 20% mandatory service fee!! I guess they didn’t have any incentive to serve better! Avoid!
This place is great for drinks. The food was very average and less options for Vegetarian. Also the decor was cute
Like a Fairytale! Every time I visit NY, is the stop not to be missed . Wow! Is always lovely. The passion with every detail with the deco theme, the stunning cocktails, the food, and the nice people preparing your cocktails is always the best.
Service could’ve been better, we had asked for utensils, napkins, refills, continuously. Very friendly but being small setting I’d expect them to be more attentive to those needs. The AC clearly wasn’t working and everyone around us were visibly sweating. We ordered a few appetizers and salad and food was amazing. Everything was cooked perfect and I would come back and recommend to others. We visited during the Alice in wonderland setup which was beautiful. Bar crew were friendly and the manager was very kind. But it was very hot which made us uncomfortable which I hope was resolved soon after our visit.
Was this worth the hype? Yes! Absolutely, without a doubt! The whole restaurant is decorated from the ground up with Halloween props. The service was one of the best we had. Staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious! The wagyu burger had a smokey flavor, the buttermilk chicken sandwich was crunchy and tender on the inside and the hummus would make a Lebanese proud. We love how the chickpeas were roasted. If you’re looking for a nice place to eat with a halloween ambience, do not miss out on this! We can’t wait to come back for other seasons to see how it’s decorated.
The decor is cute and different, with high ceilings and old pictures. The food is also very good! I got the chicken sandwich and it was honestly very crispy and crunchy, which I tend to like. It had a good amount of flavor. I did want more from the cabbage slaw that came with it, as that mostly just tasted like cabbage and mayo. My friends who I was with got the eggs Benedict and they both really enjoyed their dishes. In terms of drinks, their cocktails are very fun, with pretty garnishes and nice touches. Fun obviously comes with a price tag though, so keep that in mind. They did seem kind of understaffed when we went, but the staff did a really good job at making sure we were taken care of, which I appreciated.Overall, this is a very aesthetic spot to grab some food or drinks. We went earlier in the day, but I would recommend this spot for an evening date.
This was truly a magical place. I will be bringing friends and family here !!! Ahmed was the consummate professional. He was truly and exceptional ambassador for the establishment. Joshua was a gracious host. I loved everything about this place.
I loved the place, you feel like in a movie set. The food was good and the waiters were super charming. A good experience in general
Food and drinks super expensive and not very good. A drunk girl fell on our table halfway through dinner and spilled my drink on me. Servers took 45 min to come to us. Seriously bad experience
We went to Lillies 12/12, it was a Tuesday for late lunch. I took my mom, after a day of shopping The decor is amazing, and a fun spot to stop in during the holidays. We did not have a reservation, I was too late to secure one. There was some confusion to opening. We went to the Union Sqaure location, and Google says 1pm which is true, we walked in at about 1:30pm. We were told to grab a spot at the bar because the tables were reserved for 2pm. Lillies is a bar all the table are hightops. No problem we grabbed a spot and looked at the menu. Here in lies the confusion, we ordered Afternoon Tea which on the menu is available from opening to 5pm. But the kitchen doesnt in fact open until 2pm. The bartenders took our order and didnt seem to know the kitchen wasnt open. They brought over tea a few minutes later. Then came back 10mins later and apologized that the kitchen wasnt open until 2pm. It all worked as we didnt mind waiting for the kitchen to open. Just thought I would send that info out incase someone else is looking to have afternoon tea, wait until around 2pm to head in. The tea afternoon was fun due to the atmosphere not special. The sandwiches were fresh but the pastries and stuff were all clearly made offsite. My mom really enjoyed it. I would go back just for the fun decor.
Amazing atmosphere, great food and drinks. But the service was really bad. One female waitress was rude and racist, making shameful comments directly to my friend and tried to ‘educate’ us like we are foreigners while we all live around the neighborhood. Very disappointed.
I read the negative reviews and I’m stunned. My partner and I walked in after a show and we were seated promptly; service, food, and atmosphere were stunning. Couldn’t have asked for a better, more magical evening. Thank you to the staff and designer of this incredibly unique establishment! 👏
Great spot for weekend brunch! Food and service are wonderful and the decor is amazing.
Do NOT come here if youre looking to do tea time, it is the worst place for it.FoodAll the tea time cakes and desserts were stale and tasted like they came directly from Costco boxes. Also, they gave us store bought tea bags instead of freshly brewed tea.ServiceWhen we asked for more tea, they literally poured hot water into the same tea bag, instead of providing us with another tea bag.AtmosphereDespite the name, it is literally just a bar and restaurant; do not expect any sort of Victorian aesthetic here.Maybe good for brunch, AWFUL for tea time. Avoid and go literally anywhere else for tea time.
We went on Saturday and it was a disaster. I made a reservation for 6 pm and was told it was going to be over 45 minutes wait because they ‘overbooked’ locations. After waiting for a while another hostess asked us if we wanted to sit at one of the bar tables (by the door where it was super cold cause the door was kept open) and we ended up just agreeing cause we didn’t know if we were even gonna be seated. Then while sitting there for 15-20 minutes without anyone coming by to get our orders I asked the hostess at the front if we need to order at the bar or someone’s coming by and she said we need to order at the bar. While at the bar I guess she goes up to my boyfriend and says oh I didn’t know the other hostess sat you guys here I’ll send a server to take your orders after I already ordered at the bar. It was just extremely unorganized.I spoke with other people who were checking in and despite them making reservations they were getting told it’s going to be a 45 minute wait. Again just poor planning and management by the restaurant.
We actually left without eating. The staff could not have cared less that we were there. The host said *not a word* to us- only smiled like he was humoring our pleasantries. The server came over after almost ten minutes and said “Are you ready to order?” then fake smiled and pointed at the teeny code on the table when we asked for menus. And walked away. What is up with everyone at this place?!? Maybe because the music was at an 11? They’re over the huge tables of drunk 20-somethings? They’re too cool? I have no idea. We clearly didn’t get the memo that Lillie’s was a bro brunch party spot. Such a bummer. Also hot tip: The info you sent with our reservation was helpful. You told us- several times- exactly how long we could stay and to call if we were running late. You might want to make sure the number you provide picks up or has room for new voice messages. You know, try.Nice decorations, though.
Always a good place for beers and the food is a fair price and has good pub staples. The interior changes frequently, this time I guess is the max- hatters tea party and they have gone all out with the decorations and characters
This place was delicious! The host was also very welcoming and accommodating. I had accidentally booked dinner for the wrong night, luckily they had a table for us and let us come in! Also very inclusive! Outside with their beautiful flowers, they’ve added a pride flag, as well as have it displayed in various parts inside the restaurant! Def going back again.
My wife had booked our reservations a month out and confirmed it, only to be told at the door that the restaurant was closed for a private event that evening. We werent the only people that had arrived at the restaurant to be told this by the staff. No phone call, no email, nothing to let us know that we could not be accommodated. Only some half assed explanation by some disinterested staff member. Incredibly disappointed to have had our time wasted.
I was disappointed because i was expecting the whole flowery floral, alice and wonderland theme that they were promoting on instagram! Instead we ended up with halloween atmosphere that was rather dreary and not appealing! Im all for halloween but the timing just didnt make any sense since we are in September and you guys did not promo this theme. The place was not crowded and the waitress we had was kinda rude bum rushing us to leave. I went to celebrate my cousin bday and left very disappointed… i will give a 4 on the pistachio cake that was good but latte/cappuccino was eh ok but not out of this world. Price was ok too… but cant recommend for the false advertisement but hopefully the place will get it together for others to enjoy.
I reserved a table at Lillies 30 DAYS before for a Halloween party. The restaurant called and cancelled my reservation a couple hours before, as they claim to have allowed someone to book out the entire restaurant on the same day. The get-together had to be canceled because we couldnt find another restaurant to take 7 people in Union Square with a couple hours notice. The staff that called to cancel werent apologetic and didnt take any responsibility. I used to frequent Lillies, but am so disappointed in the restaurant and their handling of this situation that I will not be going back.
Shepherds pie and leisurely in love were to die for. Perfect way to end the work week. Bathroom needs lights. Looks like a dungeon. Everything else is amazing.
This place is seriously amazing! I saw it online and decided to give it a try with a friend, it definitely lives up the hype. The decor was amazing, there wasn’t one square inch of the place that wasn’t decorated. The food and drinks are a bit pricey, but honestly I thought they were worth the price. The cocktails are great, and look stunning as well. I got the avocado toast and was shocked by how good it was. Service was fast, and everyone was friendly. Great place to grab a bite with friends or family, or even solo!
It was a wonderful experience. Great food, good drinks. Really enjoyed myself.
I dont know how long this bar has been open but one of us has started to lose her luster. Still gorgeous inside!Happy hour wine specials were uninspired but the Vinho Verde was decent but probably opened the day before.Food recommendation by the bar tender was not great but never ask a super think and beautiful woman what she likes to eat and expect to be satiated. Relatively clean bathroom, lots of fond memories here.
We went at night, around 11pm. Still hopping on a Tuesday night. The decor is beautiful and appropriate for the holidays. We ordered the cucumber Collins, and another drink with lime, cranberry juice, and cachaça. The former was really refreshing! The latter was sweet. I felt like my drink was mostly ice though so although I liked it, I wish I had more! The curry fries were amazing and would have been awesome with beer! Definitely order this!
Very cool vibe. I love the 17th street location. Burgers and drinks are great. The wait staff is cool and attentive. Very different than the midtown location.
I give 4/5 because they definitely crowd the restaurant with too many small tables. The table next to us ended up moving their chairs to fit their group and my husband and I ended up being shoulder to shoulder with the neighbouring table. Besides this, the service was excellent - busy spot but food didnt take long to come to our table. The food was also pretty good! Probably wont come here again but its a cute place for dinner.
Lilies Victorian in New York offers an incredible blend of stunning, vintage-inspired decor and food. The elegant, Victorian-era ambiance creates a unique dining experience, and the dishes are good . Perfect for anyone who appreciates beautiful design.
The restaurant was over the top in Christmas spirit and so much fun to look at. The waiter and the hostess were very helpful and pleasant.
The food and drinks were excellent but they made us sit at the bar because we didn’t have reservations but then no one ever took any of the tables in the 3+ hours we were there and that felt extremely weird.
I stopped by here for the very first time and I had an awesome experience!!. I had the cheeseburger with fries which was delicious!!. The decor, ambiance and vibes were something else I had literally felt like I had stepped back in time!. The service was fantastic as well and I can’t wait to come back!
Love this place, especially around the holidays. If you are in NYC anytime of the year, this is a great spot to stop in, but especially around the holidays.Make some great cocktails!!
Love that place. Been coming here for years and it never stops amazing me. They still have Christmas decorations up. We went for a birthday party. Service is great as always.
Service was great. Definitely recommend a reservation, as it gets busy. Food good, but only got one piece of fish with fish and chips
Fun place for brunch. Great food, cocktails and service.
Lillies Victorian Establishment offers two locations, one in Times Square and one in Union Square. While the Union Square location is usually less crowded, the Times Square location is undeniably more stunning with its elegant decor and high ceilings. Regardless of which location you choose, Lillies is a perfect place to catch up with friends or have a romantic date night. The holiday season is particularly enchanting, with the establishment going all out with its decorations. The only downside is that the drinks can be a bit pricey, but theyre always worth the cost. As an IPA enthusiast, I can say with certainty that the Dogfish IPA is a must-try. Overall, Lillies Victorian Establishment is a neighborhood gem that you dont want to miss out on.
Went for a baby shower during the Saturday Brunch. Food was absolutely delicious. I got the Sunnyside burger with Fries and a side of Irish Sausage. Environment was absolutely outstanding! Music was quiet enough to have a conversation but enough to effect the environment. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the circulation in the building is lacking, and on a hot Manhattan day it was a little brutal to be sitting in that stagnant air.
Love the atmosphere, very true to the name. Brunch was delicious 😋. The tables a little small for two people with sides and drinks but a good experience.
An average of $20 per mediocre drink is beyond excessive. Place is like Applebees with too much on the walls and ceiling. Interesting for an annoying IG post, but save your money. I still cant get over paying $70 for THREE DRINKS.
I arrived at 145pm, had a reservation. Wasn’t really busy. Took 15 min to take my order, AFTER I went and got someone. I just was bluntly ignored. So after another TWENTY MINS, I asked the status of the afternoon tea order! He asked did I want to freaking cancel? WHAT? Bc no! It’s my bday and I’m in nyc on vacay. Wow! I’m the only black woman in the establishment. The hostess told me she was on her break. Wow! Without customers, no restaurant. People aren’t humble, don’t care. Won’t be back.
Great place with a Christmas atmosphere as no other! The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding! 100% recommended!
Very friendly staff, convival atmosphere, fancy yet reasonably priced cocktails, will be coming here again!
Super nice bar, great atmosphere and really good beer, wine and cocktail selection. I usually only go for drinks, though the food looks good. It does get quite loud during busy times, which is why I prefer sitting at the bar as talking across a table can be tough.
Such a cute space. Truly. The drinks were athletically pleasing and fair in taste. But the space… so so cute.~ALSO, same drinks as their companion bars such as Oscar Wilde.
Nice place for holidays season! Full of Christmas decorations ! Festive atmosphere!
Very beautiful place to spend time and take pictures. A big choice of unusual and delicious cocktails 🍸The food is great and looks like a piece of art!
I got two chicken sandwiches from the brunch menu and they did not disappoint. Two were about $47 not including tip. Food was served fast as well. My only complaint would have to be that it is a bit cramped. The bar takes up a large portion of this location leaving the tables that are in the back extremely close together.
Great vibes, decent cocktails, the music choice was a bit odd compared to the ambiance but it might be specific to different nights
They took down the Alice in wonderland and have not put up Halloween yet. Very fun place. We had the sangria served in teacups. Ill post the Alice in wonderland look as well
These self important businessmen and geriatrics should take the energy they put into describing their ‘subpar’ experience and use it to meditate. I’ll give them some time. Okay, now consider that we’re lucky to exist. Take a deep breath. Your reservation being pushed back an hour is the worst thing that’s going to happen to you all month. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. The staff being unenthused and busy deserved a 1 star? I bet your fully grown 40 year old kids are embarrassed of you
What a disappointing experience. The waitress accidentally made an extra cocktail and kindly offered it to us on the house. However, just as we were enjoying it, he came back, took it away, and threw it out!Such a shame and embarrassment to behave this way. Save yourself from this type of treatment—though the place looks great, the service is unacceptable.Thankfully, we had a good experience with a different waiter, so hopefully, not all the staff are like this. This version adds a bit more polish while preserving your points about the contrasting service experiences.
Great bar for after-work happy hour. Beautiful cocktails and interior. Love the bartenders - they are all so sweet and make great recommendations.
Great beer selection, decent food. My first choice for beer wasnt available. They could improve their logistics and forecasting. The chicken pot pie was awesome, the sheperads pie was good also but the service was a bit lackluster.
I was totally delighted. The food was great, the service very tentative and the atmosphere just perfect. The music was a good volume so you can speak with your friends without yelling. We really enjoyed our time at Lillies. We ordered multiple dishes such as fried calamari, chicken nachos, lemon chicken, fish and chips, beef lasagna and steak and all were perfectly cooked. I highly recommend going to Lillies
Menu isnt much to talk about but food was good. Nothing crazy or special. This place is decked out for all the holidays. Def need to come during halloween/Christmas. Drinks were on point. Staff were super friendly. 👌 ordered calamari, nachos, steak and fries, seafood pasta and fish and chips
Great, fast service but otherwise I dont really see the appeal. The themed OTT decor would be appealing if it werent so inSANEly crowded all the time. Theyre sure trying to make money by cramming in as many humans as possible, which makes it feel so crammed and rushed.I got the afternoon tea for one, and it was pretty bad. The scone was good along with its accompanying cream and jam, but the rest of the food was just a pile of kinda stale pastries and two lazy sandwiches with cream cheese and lox or cream cheese and cucumber. There was no attempt at innovation or refinement.
Food was ok, drinks were fine. Music seems out of place for the decor.
I wish I was leaving a good review, but after what happened to my friends and I at this location, I simply cannot. My friends and I came to Lillies tonight (12/13/2022) at around 9:30pm...we were sitting at the right hand back corner of this establishment. (See photo attached)All was great at first, Front hostess was nice, sat us down, and let us know to scan the QR code for menus.A couple of minutes later she sat a couple to the right of us next to us. It all went downhill from there. It must have been maybe 5min and no waiter had come to greet us or anything. Then the front hostess came back to seat two young ladies to the left of us, but still no waiter had attended us. So we waited patiently...a couple more minutes passed and nothing.....No waiter..nothing. Dont get me wrong, The place looked extremely busy, I get it... but not one person came to our table to attend....HOWEVER!!! One young gentleman (Asian I believe) came to introduce himself to the couple next to us, offered them water, and took their drink order. Yet didnt even bother to turn to our table, but we figured wed be next. NOPE! He then went back to the bar area and stood there talking to his co worker. Mind you its been about 15min now without anyone coming to attend my 2 friends and I. Meanwhile, another young waitress (blondish/black hair) comes to introduce herself to the two young ladies left of our table and begins taking their order! It was here that my friends and I decided to get up and leave.See, we didnt mind that they had taken the first couples order, but to take the other tables order after, when BOTH PARTIES WERE SEATED AFTER US. AFTER US!! TERRIBLE! Shame on you! Moreover, when We got up, and I let the waitress know that we were here before the other two tables, all she had to say was oh, you were!?Terrible service guys. Just terrible. Do better. Management, please have a better action plan during peak hours of the evening. Maybe it was miscommunication by the staff that evening as to who was waitressing which table, but that was absolutely RUDE, and uncalled for.Unfortunately, I wont be coming here or recommend anyone to come to this establishment. Bummer cause it was such a cute spot. However, worst experience ever tonight team. Just bad. And to top it off, not even one apology just a oh, you were!?I hope this review serves your team as a reminder to check up on EVERY TABLE (even the ones in the back corner) on peak hours of the day.Thank you.
UPDATE: Just found out all of the staff we knew and loved so well have left the establishment. sad because the personalities are what made this place a 5.-----------------------------------------------------Original review:When I moved to NYC, I spent my very first evening posted up on the corner of the bar at Lillies with my best friend. We had a great time and loved the place. We went back a week later and the bartender remembered us, so we went back again, and again. It became our weekly spot between our two Boroughs and we love the staff, they are friendly, put the effort in with regulars, and curate amazing playlists. It is a busy place, and pricey cocktails, but its also NYC. Go for Halloween or Christmas and youll love their decorations.
Small space but lots of ambience. Super charming and fun.
Such an adorable spot! Our food was excellent, Ill be dreaming about that chicken sandwich for a while!
Awesome place. Christmas decorations were beautiful. I had the chicken wings for lunch.
From the moment I stepped in, I was transported to a Victorian wonderland of deliciousness! 😋 Indulged in their incredible brunch menu featuring mouthwatering dishes and beautifully crafted cocktails. 🍹🌼 The ambiance is so chill and aesthetic – perfect for a weekend hangout with friends or a romantic date! 💖 And the service? Top-notch! 👌 Can’t wait to go back for more! Oh, and did I mention they have a second location in Times Square? Double the Lillie love! 💫Feature :Eggs Benedict with smoked salmonGrand Marnier French ToastSteak and EggsCaesar salad with shrimpGrilled buttermilk chickenDrinks :Florence WelchTyler the creatorJames Dean (cemetery gates)Desserts :Chocolate Mousse cakeVanilla Chocolate Tartufo
Was very excited to come here but extremely disappointed in the afternoon tea. We got afternooon tea for two and were served very small items. Just two small scones and two mini muffins, were hard and dry, desserts were very small. We saw pictures of other peoples tea sets which included croissants and other desserts, which we did not receive. Sandwich breads were dry and barely had filling. The chai tea was good but very disappointed in everything else.
If you like nostalgia and antiques, then this is the place to dine it is literally lined with treasures
Drinks and food were really good, the bar n decorations made the vibe stand out. my server was Alan he was such a great server n helped me out with the nonalcoholic drink choices
Had a great time during Halloween. Everyone had good vibes and the cocktails were great after walking around the parade.
Loved the decor. Great cocktails and service. Prices not so great, but they do have happy hours
Tasty Drinks! Great service.
A fantastic resturant... Service was outstanding and food was delicious.... Great place for dinner before a show on broadway....... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A nice place to meet your friends, talk, eat and have a delicious drink
Visit Lillies at least every 2-3mnths when in the city with my wife. This visit was 6/24/24,and it didnt disappoint as always!. Food was great, went with the fried chicken. Sandwich while the wife went with a caesar salad with grilled chicken. Was decorated for summer vibes and cool drinks!
I didnt eat the food here so cant comment on that, but stopped by here for a drink to start the night and was not disappointed! The restaurant is beautiful, service was quick, and the cocktail was delicious.
A true historians pleasure. A cute and accurate restaurant with a well priced happy hour. A variety of wines and cocktails. Conveniently located off two main streets. A great reward after shopping and walking all day.
Good food but little loud did love my wings and truffle fries. Drinks were good as well..
This place was so packed! Me and my gf couldnt get a table or a drink. It had way too many people.
Love the look of the place. Reasonably good food and drink as well. Unfortunately gets quite busy so get there early in the evening if you want a table.
Good food, decent beers on tap, a city vibe... My hubby and I remember this place from a few years ago so though I feel like it has lost something, its still a cool place :)
Lovely High Tea experience at Lillie’s Victorian Restaurant in Union Square with excellent service and warm ambiance.
I recently visited this establishment and was enchanted by the mesmerizing Halloween decorations that cast a spell of eerie delight upon the atmosphere. The ambiance was positively haunting and contributed to an unforgettable dining experience. However, the service left much to be desired, adding an unexpected element of horror to the Halloween theme. Perhaps it was intentional, but the slow and inattentive service felt more like a trick than a treat. Now, lets talk about the culinary journey. The seafood paste was a delight, a savory concoction that hinted at culinary expertise. On the flip side, the chicken dish was a frightful experience akin to chewing on a rubber sole. The potato mash, though promising, arrived disappointingly cold, sending a shiver down my spine.Amidst these culinary ups and downs, the cocktails emerged as the saving grace. Well-crafted and flavorful, they offered a refreshing contrast to the otherwise spine-chilling aspects of the evening. In summary, the Halloween ambiance and seafood paste showcased the establishments potential for culinary excellence, while the service and certain dishes added an unexpected horror element. A mixed bag of tricks and treats, indeed.
This place is just fun! Everything was fabulous, and their mojito ROCKS!
This is one of the least customer-friendly restaurants I’ve visited in NYC. Over the past two years, I’ve tried to enjoy a memorable Christmas experience here, but each visit has been disappointing. Despite making reservations, we are consistently seated and then seemingly forgotten. It has taken 20-30 minutes just to have our drink orders taken. Speaking with the manager doesn’t help, as he appears indifferent and unconcerned about the situation.I won’t be returning, and I suspect the lack of care for customer experience stems from their reliance on tourists who are unlikely to visit again. Based on my experience, I could never recommend Lillie’s in Union Square.
Came for a quick dinner before a show. Got the chicken pot pie and the burger. Both were spectacular. We came during December and it was all decked out for Christmas and beautifully done.
We loved Lillie’s! Incredible cocktails and service. Gorgeous interior with high ceilings and a flowery ceiling. The front door is incredible in itself. I had a couple Mango margaritas and they were delicious. Unfortunately they were so good I forgot to take a photo! I’ll definitely be back to Lillies
Had an amazing experience at Lillie’s ! Check out some of the highlights on my Instagram @Tamta.iremashviliThe attention to detail and the elegant Victorian-inspired designs truly transported me to another era. Every piece feels timeless, yet modern, with a perfect balance of sophistication and charm.
Came here for brunch on Saturday afternoon. The service was extremely slow. It took over 20 minutes for a server to come and one of the water glasses had someone’s lipstick still on it!I ordered poached eggs and they were the driest, blandest things I’ve ever had. Food was subpar and the tables are small and cramped but the decor was nice at least. Would not come back
Some of the best Christmas and holiday decorations✨🎄I didn’t have a chance to stop for food yet but i will soon.
Love it here, it is a fest for the senses.Good food, unique drink menu excellent service. My one peeve is that if you go for brunch they basically rush you out in about an hour and half unless you order something else. Understandable since they are so busy, but kind of annoying.
Jeez what happened to this place?! The last time I was here pre Christmas it was a Thursday night, the place was buzzing, fun crowd and upbeat Christmas tunes. Now on a Monday night Xmas Eve eve it’s loads of families , stinks of fish and the music is buzz kill Bing Crosby?! Decorations still great of course but Festive mood officially buzz killed.
The decor of this place is next level. This is professional level theme stuff. I went a few weeks ago and they still had the winter decor up. There were like 50 human-sized (faux) stuffed bears and rabbits suspended from the ceiling. The soundtrack was lit. The drinks were beautiful. The food was so-so and the service got slower and sassier (in a bad way) as the night went on, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
The restaurant decor is really stunning. The food was delicious I enjoyed every bite. The drinks are really good I love the presentation and unique taste.
Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Absolutely awful for food.
To start, we made reservations here over a month ago. In the days leading up to our reservation, we received emails informing us that our time had to be pushed back multiple times. We were eventually told we could come at 8 PM, but when we arrived, the restaurant was still closed for a company holiday party. This was something many of us standing outside wished we had been informed of beforehand. We ordered the calamari and the NY Strip Steak cooked medium rare. However, our server brought us a fully well-done steak and didn’t seem very happy when we asked to have it fixed. She also appeared to be a bit overwhelmed since she was responsible for the entire back section of the bar.We understand that everyone has bad days, but there’s a certain way to treat customers that should always be upheld. The only positives were the beautiful Christmas decorations and how accommodating Kayla was.
We have gone three times this year. The first time was great. The second time was less so. The third time...We will not go again. The Friday after Thanksgiving we were with out of town friends for lunch and a show - a group of 8. It took our server over 15 minutes to greet us. Another server spilled my mothers coffee. Tea was served without tea cups (shouldnt have to ask). What was billed as a chicken salad sandwich was actually a chicken breast with cheese and lettuce. The prosciutto sandwich was served without prosciutto. My medium hamburger was 1/5 raw (not sure how that happened.) The steak sandwiches were enjoyed.
3 stars for the decor and food/drinks (when they finally came out), but something was seriously wrong with the service the night we stopped in. Group of 5 took nearly an hour to get our appetizers and only 3 out of 5 orders were ever put in! Waitress seemed lost, several mistakes in the drink orders. Very frustrating after a long day.
David the manager and Manny the bartender and Dani in events were great!
I thought the service wasnt grate, the waitress went missing several times. They dont have a great selection of drinks and when we finally asked for desert they where out of almost all of them. The food was good but to expensive for what was delivered. I think we paid only for the beautiful decoration
The atmosphere was very nice and the decorations were beautifully done, although when you have reservation you still have to wait, we waited 30min before we got seated because they can’t organise themselves and probably just overbook. When we did get seated we still had to wait a long time for the food and they forgot to bring our drinks and only after we finished eating they came. The staff are also just unfriendly.
Cute christmas decor but wish they’d mixed in some xmas music
If you want to feels the classic christmas vibes.. this is the place :))) ps. dont forget to make a reservation
Absolutely the energy of this place , fab decor even with Halloween decorations . Service excellent , food outstanding , everything was delicious ! Staff very friendly and accommodating. Couldn’t but highly recommend it . Just one or two suggestions ! Menus are an app and I feel it would benefit having a hard copy for those who aren’t into their apps ! Also , a good idea to have regular sugar , not all substitutes , and Salt & Pepper on each table . Other than that I be back , a five star experience . We had eggs Benedict’s and Omelette with truffles and mushroom and absolutely divine .
The atmosphere was beautifully decorated, creating a welcoming ambiance. I visited during happy hour on a Friday and was delighted by the array of delicious food options, including a mouthwatering burger with seasoned fries, flavorful nachos with spinach dip, succulent fried shrimp, and a satisfying steak served with fries. The margarita drinks offered were also exceptional. I am already looking forward to returning and eagerly anticipate inviting friends to join me soon.
We went for drinks and it was good. They have a Halloween theme now.
Fun brunch option near Times Square. The service is hit or miss (always feels like they’re a little understaffed) but always friendly. The food is surprisingly good for a place this instgrammable. Great place for special event meals (bachelorettes, etc.) and/or bringing out-of-towners.
A local NYC favorite. Great spot for any holiday as they always go all out with the decor.
Good food (just had truffle fries and calamari) and the drinks was ok not anything extraordinary(had the old fashioned)Lively environment but can definitely do better
Five stars for the cocktails and atmosphere, food was average, service was good, attentive but not overbearing.
Stopped in for a drink after Christmas. The decorations were so over the top! I felt like I was at Santa’s workshop. It was delightful!!!
This place was stunning!! The bartender was awesome and attentive. The drinks were unique and they have a big menu to pick from. I ordered from the happy hour menu and it was perfect. The shishito peppers were to die for, the charcuterie board was perfect and fresh, and I had a steak for dinner which was excellent. Last the design and decorations throughout were STUNNING. I felt like I was in another time that was classic and beautiful. MUST GO!!
Wao this place have it all!! Food, service, ambiance. A perfect place
My friend and I made reservations about an hour before we arrived on Sunday! We were sat very quickly which was nice. The decor is to DIE for!! 🎃👻 I love Halloween decor so this was probably the best part for me! The first drink (Helena Molonia) I ordered was delicious, but not that strong and the second drink (How Soon is Now) wasn’t my fav but the presentation was really cute! As for the food, the chicken sandwich and Caesar salad were really yummy. Can’t wait to go back and see the Christmas decor!🤩
Had a visit to the Lillies Union Square location for afternoon tea.First, the atmosphere here is absolutely incredible and the winter decorations all around the restaurant were stunning! So it was fun taking the newly decorated winter hokiday atmosphere in!We tried the afternoon tea service at Lillies to try a new place out rather than our usual spot.My tip is if you were looking for a place to have afternoon tea, Lillies *might* not be a place at the top of your list.As others have mentioned we did think the food was just average for the price you pay for it ($90).Our waitress was nice and friendly whenever we did see her or when she would come to our table, which was not alot but know she may have probably been busy with other tables and things which is understandable!
Cool, fun spot off of Union Square.Got the James Dean old fashioned and the seafood pasta. It had a very tasty sauce and was very good. My friend got the truffle gnocchi and the How Soon is Now drink. Both very good.Overall wonderful atmosphere and good food. Highly recommend.
The food was way better than expected. When you go to these gimmicky places sometimes the food skimps, not here. The gnocchi was to die for so was the nachos. The buffalo cauliflower was okay. Drinks were great too. The service could have been slightly better. Great Halloween vibes
Asked for medium cooked hamburger it was more than well done. Food not great.
Had a wonderful lavender and citrus gin and tonic! Perfectly refreshing on a hot day. The bartenders are talented and very engaging.
Great cocktails! Also very fairly priced. We just waited a lot for bartenders to come up to us. Besides that was decorated beautifully for Halloween!
Its a charming spot, perfect for hosting friends visiting from out of town.
Jobani (hope I spelled his name right) was an angel who was super supportive and wonderful when I thought I lost my bag at Lillies. Ended up being at the restaurant next door, but could not recommend Lillies more for making you feel like you belong and that everyone is looking out for you! Thanks Jobani!
Great place, the scenery changes depending on the time of year, great drinks and food. Great music and great atmosphere.
I saw an Instagram reel and decided to check it out solo to see if it was worth a girls day out. I didnt think the staff was particularly friendly. If you want to go and take pics, just get drinks. The food is nothing to write home about. I swear I finished my drink in two sips 😩 75% ice.
Great decor and beer selection, also wasnt so noisy despite being very crowded. Ill come back !
Very nice place with great atmosphere. First time stopped in briefly to get a mocktail. There were all different types of parties - birthday parties, brunch, exploding firework candles, flowers, and sexy waiters and waitresses. Their staff dress code is way nicer than their sister restaurant, Oscar Wilde. Came back for brunch on a Saturday and there were plenty of seats. The menu is the same here as for Oscar Wilde but somehow I felt like the food was better here. *Note... I also went to the location on 17th and it was uncannily similar to Oscar Wilde
Such an amazing experience. This is a Place you definitely want to try or come back to. Our server Luis was so helpful and accommodating with suggestions. Sangria down the rabbit hole was one of the best things Ive had and the proud Mary was just as good. The gnocchi was so well done and the bang bang shrimp were delicious. 10/10
I loved the old school decor, my burger was HITTIN, the drinks were SLAMMIN and the Service was Great
This is one of the best restaurant/bar experiences Ive ever had. My group and I had a reservation for the other Lillies location, but our driver took us to this one by accident. Luckily we only waited for about 10 minutes and a table was available. The tall man at the front (security/host?) and Manager were friendly and very helpful.Everything was amazing - the decor and ambience, our fantastic server, and the drinks and food. The next time I visit NYC, I hope to be back!
I don’t like writing bad reviews but I was left underwhelmed and disappointed. The food and service were at best mediocre. I’m a big foodie and I was excited to try their food based on reviews but I left so underwhelmed. Over the top Christmas decorations felt tacky and cheap. If that’s your thing you may like it but from a close inspection it felt like there a millions of cheap-plastic decorations overstuffing what-in my opinion- is a gorgeous Victorian style atmosphere. It felt touristy and not at all unique. Too much doesn’t always work and here they totally killed what could be an authentic and gorgeous vibe.
My husband and decided to get an early start for some cocktails before our dinner reservations at another establishment. We asked if could sit at the bar and the hostess directed us to have a seat anywhere. We decided to sit at the end of the bar but not realizing they were not intending to service us at that point. We moved towards the middle of the bar. The bartender was making a cocktail for a patron as we waited patiently to be acknowledged.Still nothing! No attention, no acknowledgment and so we walked out. On to celebrating my birthday at the other restaurant. Where we were treated with class and respect. We had an amazing time.I had a wonderful time here at Lillie’s in the past but no plans on returning.
Not the most welcoming atmosphere, both in terms of the structure inside and the offputting disinterest from the bartenders... youll be much better off at Oscar Wilde a few blocks up!
The decor is beautiful, we were hoping the Christmas decor would be up but the Halloween decor was still very cool. We got the sea bass and the duck breast both were good. We loved the chili lime potato wedges!
The waitress was unsure what to recommend from the menu, one waiter served our food altogether on the small pub table, and Im not even exaggerating, within the next 5 seconds another waiter came and asked if we were done with our plate of oysters. We said it just came to our table and he still took it away (with all oysters still not touched from shells), later saying he doesnt understand English. Such a neat setting but beyond disappointing service. Everyone seems to be in a rush to get us out of the restaurant. One visit is more than enough.
Fantastic place. The food was to die for!
Always magical, walking into the Victorian time travel that is this beautiful place! And, what an AMAZING shock and surprise, not knowing that is has been insanely and fantastically decorated, FULLY and head to toe, as Alice In Wonderland. Must visit, must experience, must see. Food is incredible, as well!
Loved our server Sara, and had a great time. Cocktails were refreshing and delicious. And food was delicious. We had chorizo and steamed muscles, lobster rav and chix sandwich with a cheesecake serving for dessert. Our server really took good care of us and she was just top-notch along with the ambiance.
Beautiful decor, tasty cocktails and great food. Reservations are recommended.
Went for drinks over Christmas - staff was amazing and the place was decorated beyond belief.
Afternoon tea for two. Sandwich bread very dry. Desserts from Costco? We aren’t big eaters at all and left hungry. Way overpriced. Waitress seemed annoyed we were there or maybe her disposition is typical NYC. Being from the south, it was very off putting. I made an online reservation and noted the visit was for a birthday. No mention of it from staff. The entire vibe was off for us - maybe just the time of day? 2pm isn’t where this place shines???
Seasonal decor and intimate vibes, great spot for a nightcap or date.
What an incredible atmosphere. For Halloween the decorations are very fun. Went for brunch and got eggs Benedict. The hollandaise felt a bit sparse to me, there was nothing special about it if Im honest. I enjoyed my cappuccino and the chocolate mousse cake. Service was very friendly and responsive.
The food was very good, the atmosphere was wonderful and the service very kind
Amazing! Fantastic food and service. The decor is a wonderland!! Loved it!
Ive been to Lillies a few times primarily for drinks. The ambience here is fantastic thanks to the Victorian decor and large space, not to mention the long counter bar! Also the bartenders are extremely friendly and very professional. My friends and I had a great time and will definitely return again real soon.
Yes, I loved this place. It was even more magical inside than I imagined. It was whimsical and fun with great music. The food was also very good. I got the steak fries with truffle fries which were good but the star dish was the truffle gnocchi. 10/10 on that one. I would skip the fried ice cream.
Listen this place is GORGEOUS. We came in around the time they opened so it wasnt busy yet plus it was a Tuesday. The drinks are absolutely superb plus they had happy hour so they were a nice price too ($10). Honestly such a deal especially at a spot like this and in the area its in! Of course the reason to come here is for the DECOR. Ive walked past a few times and really wanted to go inside and check it out. They go all out, and if youve ever been to a themed or specialty pub in London it definitely has that feel to it. The vibe is so lovely! Drinks wise everything we had was so tasty. I think especially given how quiet it was in there it would be nice if the bartenders were a little bit more friendly but I think they were just quiet which is also okay. But we did have to seriously flag them down to order more. Probably would have had another drink if they had checked in a little bit. But all in all, this is a lovely place. I dont know what its like when its super busy but I highly recommend checking it out on those non busy hours to enjoy everything without the hustle!
Food and entire staff was amazing. However, Devin really made our experience one to remember. Devin completely embodied the definition of hospitality and was the best the server ever!
Terrible and overcharged afternoon tea!!!!We love going to afternoon tea.We saw this restaurant on social media. We wanted to give it a try.By far, this is the worst place!!!All the decorations in the restaurant were fun and exciting, but thats all...They charged $90 for afternoon tea (for two people)They do not have a list of tea selections (its already alarming....)I only ate one bite of the sandwich. The sandwich at the bus station would have been much much tastier. The rest of the sweets were bought from Costco... Nothing was fresh. Anything was not warmed up or toasted.I chose Earl Gray for my tea, and it was just bitter and flavorless. They did not provide milk or sugar. In the end, we did not finish our food and left the restaurant. The price and atmosphere give people higher expectations of food and service quality. Its just a big disappointment. We highly recommend people go somewhere else for afternoon tea.
Very interesting. Quiet atmosphere. Unique cocktails.
I heard about this place from Sarah Funky, a NY tour guide and youtuber. I loved everything and Ill come back on my next trip to see how its decorated for the seasons! Great desserts and cocktails!
This place has gorgeous decor! The only thing was that it was just too bring for my taste, I prefer a bit more dimmed lights. We had a great experience with delicious cocktails and great service.
The bartender was terrible and so rude! My friend and I came here to grab a drink last weekend. There’s no price on the drink menu, we paid for drinks plus tips (pricey at ~$20/drink). I did not like the taste of my drink, it was so bitter, so I asked the bartender politely if he could fix something for me. He was telling me with a big attitude “if you don’t like this dont order it again next time” that was so rude and worst experience we would never come back again!
Friendly staff, great vibes, love the Halloween decor. The food was honestly standard, we trued the calamari(favorite of all), nachos and thai wings. The drinks were decent as well. A very popular spot for the college students as well.
This place is just amazing in person as it is online! My friends and went to Lillie’s on 49th! We had the best corner; perfect for pictures and videos! Our seating was for 1hr but turned out to be 4 hrs long; we got so lucky! Appetizers entree and desert was really good! The drinks were also good! We had the most amazing waiters and servers! Devin was such a DOLL and that is an understatement!!!! Because of him were coming back!!!!! Thanks to epiphany for waiting on us hands and foot! The whole place was such a vibeeeeeeeee + the music made it that better!
Extremely disappointed! I have booked a month ago a table for the birthday of my husband and when we arrived we have been placed at the entrance - in front of the main door! I asked the host for a better table since I booked the table in advance for a special occasion and she said I have no table people booked a long time ago- And also I did and moreover for a special occasion! Then I saw another table available placed a bit better and I asked the host and she said … hmmm ok but I need to clean it. Such a bad service never seen, not a little effort from her part to help us find a better place especially because I booked it a long time ago and also mentioned the occasion. Not to talk about the service … the waiter served the wrong wine and she did not excuse herself, forgot the bread we ordered too and brought it too late when we were ready to pay. And also very disappointed because I came for the lobster rolls and the menu changed meanwhile ! So, I booked a table in advance to receive the worst one, no attention to my request, bad service and menu changed! Do not recommend.
Lillie’s is great!Great look, good food, fun drinks, clean, fantastic location and ah-mazing service. This place is right in the thick of it and busy but manages not to feel touristy. We were a diverse group of 6 and Devin made us feel so welcome and waited on.Highly recommend!!
Despite several bad reviews, my husband and I decided to go and try ourselves... and we were delighted 😍 everything was great, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere, etc. We went with a reservation and we didnt find it too expensive. We will be back for sure! ☺️
This place is super lovely and well thought out. The cocktails were cute and dainty. In fact, the whole experience was kind of dainty. I had major nostalgia when I saw the antique clock above the bar that appeared to be the same as a clock my mom had when I was growing up.
Great food. Average service. Niice meal followed by horrible coffee and mediocre dessert.Impressed by the dedication to decorate for the holiday season. We shared french toast and a buttermilk chicken sandwich, which were both very tasty. The coffee tasted burnt, most likely due to the ancient Hamilton Beach coffee urn. The fried ice cream dessert had an excessively thick crust that had a detrimental effect on the overall dish.
Lillies is truly something special! Its definitely worth going down this rabbit hole. The decore and atmosphere is straight out of Wonderland! The cocktails are phenomenal, and the food is great! I 100% recommend stopping by.
Food was really good & loved the decor & music. The only thing I was not a fan of is the drinks. Tried two different ones plus a sip of my friends, too floral for my taste.
I loved this place but Im not sure why. The food was just ok and the drinks were expensive but the ambience was just fun. Will definitely go back.
Drinks were on point. Little pricey but for us was worth it. Cathedral style bar, recommend checking it out
Hip vibe, great food and awesome cocktails. Definitely a hidden gem. Friendly staff.
Currently sitting at a table & arrived at 2:20pm, it is now 3:09pm & I haven’t received a drink or food only water. Don’t waste your time unless you have a lot of it to spare. It’s really spooky designed & terrible service.
