Love this chain! I’m not a vegetarian but am always open to new experiences. In Le Botaniste (this is the second location of theirs I’ve been to) the food is always fresh and exciting: a lot of the time I have no idea what I’m eating (I usually go with premade bowls and don’t always read the ingredients) but it always tastes delicious. They also have really good organic wines at very reasonable prices.

I was walking by and I was browsing to eat somewhere new. Until I came across this restaurant. As soon as I entered, I was welcomed, acknowledged, and had a friendly attitude from the employees. Especially from, Ingrid, the person who provided options for me and recommended what to get as a first-timer. It was the best decision to try and eat the ‘chilli sin carne.’ I would recommend this place 10/10. The quality of the food is perfect, and the portion is also 10/10.

It’s a pretty good spot and I will go back to try more things. Food is on the healthier side, although a bit too salty for me. Nothing mind blowing, I guess I had high expectations based on all the nice pics and reviews I’ve seen here. Portions are ok size, I think prices could be slightly lower for what you get and you don’t get table service anyway. The summer roll was already pre-made and tasted accordingly. The stew bowl was alright - I found a piece of undercooked sweet potato and two pieces with black dots that should have been cut out.

I popped into here two days ago for dinner takeaway. I was very, very pleased with the flavour of the saag, subbing quinoa for brown rice. Very good portion size for the price as well (for NY!) Cheery employee as well. Only dinked a star because the lemon hummus sucks unfortunately: zero flavour. But there are a variety of food options to choose from which I appreciated.

First, I have to say the food was delish! Everything fresh, flavorful and just perfect. What we didnt like was the attitude of staff that was taking our order (a young lady and a young man behind the food bar.On the other hand, the young gentleman behind the register was nice!)The people that were putting our food together could obviously tell it was our first time visiting and we were kind of confused when building one of our bowls. The lady was rolling her eyes and responding rude to our questions. Unfortunately, it ruined the whole experience.Food was nice but we are definitely not coming back to this location again.

A beautifully decorated, and extremely detail oriented atmosphere. They have a lot to offer - natural wines, bowls, soups, dessert etc. found the prices to be reasonable for a bowl + all natural organic food. I had the miso bowl which I feel fell a little short of expectations but was still very good. Had the tumeric lemonade also and that was good and refreshing. Looking forward to returning and having another item off the menu

Food:It was alright. We were a party of 5 and everyone’s feedback on taste was more or less „okay“. I myself was not amazed at all. The food was healthy. If you are in the mood of having a healthy meal, this is definitely the place to go! I would almost call it the exact opposite of junk food! You can feel good about yourself having consumed natural, vegan nutrition. In the pictures you will see what I have ordered. I guess, my favorite was the avocado.Service:First question of the employee was „have you ever been here?“ when answered no, she started to describe all the different options and rattled down the complete menu. Literally everyone in our group was even more confused after her presentation than before. She explained the entire menu, very fast with no time to ask inbetween questions. This resulted in all of us pointing at things and saying „I want that mixed with this and that. Rather than choosing from the menu she just presented.Atmosphere:The place offered indoor and outdoor seating and had bathrooms. What I liked was the location being so close nyc center and all the plants for decoration.Have a look at the pictures and videos.

My coworker convinced me to come here during lunch, and I was hoping the food would be “good for vegan food”, but it was honestly “really good PERIOD”. The portions are on the smaller side, but it’s a good lunch spot if you’re looking for a lighter meal. As soon as you walk in you instantly smell the yummy food simmering on the stovetop. I literally just watched the bubbling goodness for a few minutes while trying to decide which route to go. The two cooks/counter people were proud in saying it’s all plant based vegan cuisine. Google has this place ranked as one of the 19 important vegan restaurants in NYC as rightfully so. It’s all about eating to live for people who also want to live to eat. Good clean vegan food is very difficult to find in a city that really pushes food that’s going to harden your arteries. They also have beverages that are conducive towards good health. It’s a amazing place and once you visit, you’ll be a repeat customer. It’s also available on Uber Eats so you can enjoy at home also. #veganfoodnyc #vegan #sankofatafari #kingofcoffeenyc #kingofmarijuananyc #lionofthebx #nyc #googlemaps #ubereats #newyorkcity

We with my sisters for my birthday. Very small interior, cafeteria style. I liked my dish which was the Tibeta stew with veggie balls. Veggie balls were beet-y. Summer roll was ok, the dip was like mustard. I didn’t care for the chili. The black bean stew was the standout and the chia seed brownie was alright, but instructions were unclear so the sweet sauce for it was put on the chili in error 😅.Overall, fun little place. Options off the beaten path which I have to admire.

This place has a simple concept beautifully executed: Delicious vibrant macro bowls with a French cafe/wine bar vibe. When you walk in you get to choose your food with your eyes. The vegetables are the stars and they have some simple yet unique combinations of purees, tartines, fermented veggies, raw and cooked greens and whole grains. Super friendly staff offered suggestions and let us sample a few of the unique combos like the green mint pea hummus and the potato bacalao. We opted for the DIY bowl so we could get a sampling but they also offer a sampler platter and a sushi small plate that comes with many of the sauces. The decor is relaxing, friendly and vibrant which perfectly matches the food and mood here. Definitely save room for a brownie, it is chocolaty, moist, light and airy, and not too sweet (like too many vegan treats). We will be back!

I wanted to give this place five stars given it is a plant based restaurant. My experience is that they over do it. What I mean is that vegetables to me are delicious and spice should be used to highlight and bring out the flavor of the veggies. For example, their Superseed Avocado with jalapeno oil you taste the jalapeno oil more than the avocado. Avocadoes are so delicious all you need are spices that blend with the avocado where the avocado is the star not the spices.I had a similar experience with the Magic Miso Soup. Miso is delicious, with some veggies, noodles and light spicing it can be amazing. When I had their miso I tasted more of the spicing than the miso. For dessert I had the Red Fruit Chia Pudding and a oat milk latte which was a refreshing and light finish. The staff is friendly and I love the comfortable warm atmosphere.

My absolute favorite restaurant in the city. A great selection of vegan food, from items that are light and healthy feeling, or food that will stick to your ribs (I cant stay away from the chili!) Absolutely worth the price, for everyone. The desserts might not be everyones cup of tea, but I like them very much. Great service, wonderful ambience.

Since this place is around my college its somewhat convenient. Its affordable (but not college student affordable) considering the location in uptown. There are many shops around this area so at least you have options if this isnt your cup of tea. In the pictures below I had the Tibetan Mama Rice Bowl, a Summer Roll & Omega 3 Brownie. The food was okay but because I like my food with lots of spices the meal was sadly lacking for me. I spent $27.85 (believe me I dont spend this much on the daily) I visited maybe once more after this.

This place is as good as it gets when it comes to whole food plant-based fare! It has an attractive decor, a friendly staff who you order from at the counter, and really good food. I’ve tried the UWS and UES locations and both are consistently very good. Unlike most vegan restaurants, that offer a wide variety of highly processed fake meat, Le Botaniste is all about whole foods – vegetables, grains, beans, with various dishes to suit of a variety of tastes. And everything is freshly made and ready to go, so there’s no waiting.

Gorgeous little gem of a place, and this comes from someone who normally doesnt love vegan food much. This place proves it can be excellent. Simple yet comfortable and nice interior, styled like an old apothecary, and gorgeous, tasty, healthy and all around great food served in a friendly environment by nice, warm and welcoming people. Absolutely try this place, its worth it. And if someone in your group says they really cant stand vegan food and need their meat fix, the Fusilli pasta with vegan protein bolognese will satisfy even them.

I was very excited to try this place. I am visiting from Europe. I ordered the soup (tomato based) and the ‘avocado super seed’ dish. The food was extremely average imho. The avocado dish was drenched in oil. Oil is not a health food. My biggest concern was lack of hygiene in which all of the main dishes were displayed. Huge massive pots with various options. Nothing covered. Servers not wearing masks or gloves to my memory. Anything and everything could fall or drop in to those giant vats. Nice original ‘concept’ but absolutely not worth it.

Perfect place to enjoy a meal after work on a chilly day.We popped in for dinner. We took advantage of the “dinner therhappy” deal. $24 for a bowl and glass of wine after 17:00. I would recommend the vegetable tajine with a couple vegetable balls. The mushroom dish was also very hearty. They have wine and regular (not gluten free) beer in addition to lemonades, tea, coffee and kombucha. We left satisfied. I took some of my main meal to go so we could have room to sample a couple desserts. The chia mud was a super rich chocolate treat. The brownie with cashew cream was picky toddler approved. Looking forward to trying the veggie sushi and peanut butter cookie next time around. #glütensiz #glutenfreeThere are a few tall tables that seat approximately 6 people each in the main dining area. The regular height tables seat 2 people. There is also a lower eating space with short stools. In the very back there is a short wall with bench seating. It was an excellent seating option for a couple adults and a three year old. We moved the two tables together and didn’t have to worry about encroaching in to any one else’s space.

Wow! I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I love the food at this vegan restaurant (!!) Plus it’s really cute and fun inside, like something you’d find on vacation in a foreign country. The chili was proper spicy and, honestly, if I had not known it was a vegan restaurant I would not have even questioned whether there was meat in it or not. We also tried the smashed potatoes with mushroom gravy which was the bomb. Didn’t miss dairy or meat at all! The bowls are small but filling and even though they’re a little on the expensive side it’s obviously quality food. Will definitely return for more potatoes and to try the very reasonably-priced small selection of natural wines.

This place is very yummy! As a non vegan, I think it’s a great spot for healthy flavorful food. The only downside is it is a bit expensive but they do use so many fresh ingredients, it’s understandable. You just hope to get someone that is a little more generous with scoops than others. I always feel great after eating here and usually do a build your own bowl. The “Jackuna”, turmeric lemon hummus, and young coconut ceviche are all unique and delicious. I only asked them to get my money back since I couldn’t eat my salad. They said it was ok, and then they said that they didn’t need anything from me, they just were going to refund my money back. I again arrived in NYC to make my triumphant return to the world haberdashery expo after my 2 year suspension. Oh the cuff links I saw that day made my exile nothing more then a cruel memory. And for the first time in recent memory the vintage hat auction had not ended in violence. I was in the clouds my friends and I sought a heavenly meal. At the expo I met a Mongolian fellow who recommended La Botaniste. I was apprehensive about taking culinary advice from a man with a noticeable limp but I decided to take a chance because on this day no wrong could happen. I entered the restaurant and sat at the counter. At first I was nervous I had never been in a room with so many vegans before, but they all seemed very warm and welcoming not at all like you see on television. I ordered the lemonade and the Tajine. The lemonade was sharp like ceremonial knife and sweet like a ceremonial dance. The Tajine was both foreign and comforting like the Dutch woman my father married after the great storm. La Botaniste was indeed a heavenly end to a day spent in the clouds. 5 stars.

A spinoff of Le Pain Quotidien, La Botaniste is an entirely vegan bistro. I use the word bistro on purpose: its not really a sit-down luxurious dinner restaurant, the decor and furnishings make it more of a grab-a-quick-bite place. The decor seems to be getting in the way of the dining experience: the theme of the place as a dispensary of healthy prescriptions actively interferes with the enjoyment of the meal. Their attempt at a wine bar in the middle room makes the place feel cold, not welcoming. As for the food, the hot dishes are very filling, while the cold plates are tapas-sized appetizers. The dessert selection was a bit underwhelming. Prices are a bit high for a lunch place, but not bad for a dinner spot.
