I am absolutely delighted with every aspect of this restaurant! The food was exquisite, and the staff were attentive, organized, and friendly. The restaurants aesthetic is beautiful. They truly went above and beyond to make our experience special. We had a reservation for outdoor seating, but it was too chilly, so they kindly offered us complimentary tea as a gesture of goodwill. Then, they managed to accommodate us with a table inside. To top it off, my husband received a complimentary dessert for his birthday it was delicious by the way. They went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable.

Lovely, well-decorated restaurant. I came here for Christmas Eve brunch with some friends and highly recommend making reservations a few days in advance. While what I ordered was extremely salty, my boyfriend had the special of the day, the lobster quiche, which was delicious. I enjoyed his meal more than mine. However, the fantastic service made up for my disappointment with my own meal.

Had a lovely “Apéro” at La Mercerie during a quick stop in New York. The cocktail menu was tempting, but on a warm fall day, I opted for the Petit Paris—a refreshing mix of Aperol, grapefruit juice, and sparkling wine. Choosing a small plate was tough, but I went with the Betteraves Vinaigrées, a zesty beet salad with citrus pickled beets and trout roe, and the Avocat Crevettes, featuring Montauk shrimp in an orange blossom vinaigrette with grapefruit and avocado. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive—staff checked in regularly, refilling water and asking about our experience. The atmosphere was inviting, with seafoam tones, blue velvet accents, and a neutral palette. Even at 3 PM on a Thursday, the place was lively. Toward the back, there’s a charming shop filled with crystal glassware, earthenware, books, and home décor. A pleasant surprise was the collection of antique Georg Jensen silverware and other vintage pieces from Japan. I’d love to return with a bigger appetite to explore the lunch or dinner menu!

Came as a party of two. From the moment we entered the manager, Ryan greeted us and quickly pulled up our reservation and guided us to our seats. That set the tone for the rest of the night. The service was impeccable. A true complement to the beautiful decor, and the scrumptious food. Both of us were taken a back by how good the food was. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The skin was perfectly crispy when the fork went in we heard the audible sound of the crunch. The sauce it was paired with inspired a sense of nostalgia to meals I had in my childhood. It truly felt like a homemade Sunday chicken as my date put it.The crepe was so savory, the potatoes were outstanding and the salmon was excellent. The whole evening was wonderful, and we would both come back for another no doubt wonderful evening.

The ultimate dining experience. Elegant but cozy with lofty, airy ceilings, impeccable decor, large windows that flood each room with light, and perfectly placed plants create the most inviting atmosphere.Previously I had the salmon-buckwheat crepe and loved it. This time I felt like something more substantial. I arrived without a reservation and waited about 30 minutes in what felt like a Restoration Hardware showroom. I was served a drink while I waited and the staff was so friendly that we chatted about his family origin.Once seated at my tables I ordered the filet, which came with a light salad, and the aux gratin potatoes. I had intended to only eat half of each to not feel too full - but I couldn’t stop eating. The potatoes were buttery without being too creamy. The salad was beautiful - light and refreshing. The filet aux poivre had a delicious black pepper sauce. I wanted to lick the plate. Cooked a perfect medium-rare.This is my favorite high end dining experience in Noho

The food was quite good but the atmosphere was a little stuffy inside. We sat outside and it was just okay atmosphere (better than inside). The service was good but it was hard to flag down the hostess initially (even though we had reservations). It was also a bit hard to find the door (others were having a hard time, too)! The mixed drinks are great but the wines are rather pricey

My wife and I have come for brunch the last 3 Christmases, and plan to do so as long as we can.Menu highlights for us are the cheese plate, the crepes, and the layered puff pastry dessert. Came here for my post-bday brunch and have to say that indoors is really beautiful! Inside is bustling but still somewhat spacious. The choice of decor is very chic and elegant too.But on to the food, as most have already mentioned, the portions are on the lighter side so best not to come in super hungry lol However, the taste is delicious. We started off with the cheeses which was just okay. But the Crepe Complete and Heritage Chicken were beautifully done. There is that nice and delicate flavor almost which we enjoyed.Drink 53 (pomegranate, lime and honey) was delicious and their coffee with latte art was a bonus! you know we love our latte arts lol Service was good but was a tad slow somehow. After we ate we checked out their pieces and furniture and had a fun time just marveling how well made and beautiful they were especially the woodworks. Definitely a nice time but most likely wouldnt recommend unless its for special occasions or for the experience since it is on the pricier side for such small portions of food.

Great for a special occasion or out of towner to impress. Overall though, vastly underwhelmed by nearly all of the menu items that ended up on the table. For all the pomp and circumstance I was expecting nothing less than exquisite.People seem to be losing their minds over this place, understandably all things aesthetic are A+, exceptional for sure. I just feel that the level of cuisine should be on par with the atmosphere La Mercerie provides. Dining mere feet away from a $122,000~ sculptural chair and overpriced dinnerwares at The Guild would make you think the food is Michelin level at least.Bread and butter isn’t even worth mentioning, and the Gratin Dauphinois lacked flavor I was desperately seeking. The salmon crepe was the standout of the lunch service - but still lacked that incredible dish flavor profile I was wanting. The quiche was average, nothing disappointing for sure. I wouldn’t come back for dinner to be honest. Mille Feuille for dessert was a nice sweet treat but felt like I could pick it up at any local bakery.

“I recently visited La Mercerie and I-have to say, the experience was a mixed bag with some definite highlights. Let’s start with the food — it was truly delicious! Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, with flavors that felt fresh and balanced. The chef clearly put effort into the presentation as well, making every plate look as good as it tasted. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was satisfying and left me wanting to come back just to try more of the menu. The cocktails were another standout! The bartenders here really know what they’re doing. Each drink was unique, with creative combinations that surprised and delighted. I loved how they incorporated fresh ingredients and house-made infusions. Plus, the presentation was beautiful, making it almost too pretty to drink. The interior design is definitely something to talk about. It’s clear a lot of thought went into the decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere with a stylish edge. The lighting was perfect, setting a cozy mood, and there were lovely design details throughout the space, like vintage accents and carefully chosen art pieces. It’s the kind of place that feels special as soon as you walk in.However, the service was just average. The staff was friendly, but they seemed a bit overwhelmed, and there were moments when we had to wait longer than expected for our drinks and food. Nothing too bad, but given the quality of everything else, I hoped for a more attentive experience. Overall, it was a great night, but a bit more polish in the service could elevate the whole experience to match the fantastic food, cocktails, and ambiance.

I really enjoyed brunch here! We ordered several things: the francoise (my mocktail), the am brioche (with creme anglaise), the quiche of the day (which was aubergine, cottage cheese and tomato), the soft boiled egg (cauliflower and tofu puree and comte cheese), the crepe complete and the baba au rhum dessert. We really enjoyed the quiche and the egg dishes! They were very balanced in terms of flavor and the textures were like melt in your mouth! The brioche texture was great but with the sugar crust made it too sweet for me with the creme anglaise. The crepe was decent but way more ham than i expected which ended up making it too salty. However, i do acknowledge that i dont usually eat food with too much salt so i am definitely on the more sensitive side. Im sure others really enjoy this one. The dessert was way to alcoholic in terms of flavor for me so unfortunately i was unable to finish it. However, the service was great - our server was really patient and kind to us and brunch over all was very lovely!

Overall I was okay with this restaurant. Food was great but everything else I felt less than average. Just like any other fine-dining style French restaurant. (this is just my personal opinion about French fine-dining) Overall they are very mild (in a good way), soft texture and no strong flavor but the combination of all that really comforts you. La Mercerie is also one of typical French fine-dining style restaurants; however, the service level of server, food menu, and location comes a bit short.1. service wasn’t any near good(got the wrong order and didn’t even offer to take it out from the bill) and i don’t know they put me up with Asian server maybe because I’m Asian and she got my order incorrectly.2. menu was also a mix of kick/flavor and mild. I don’t know why they put a mustard on Cod. It totally ruined the calm flavor of soup and cod3. it’s located at the edge of soho and china town and there are street market sellers in front of restaurant.Overall, the food and price was somewhat reasonable for French restaurant but not sure if they are up to the point where they can call themselves a “French” restaurant

Butter galore! We went in for their brunch and the food was very on point with French staples. The croissants are well made with such buttery flakiness; even the waitress informed us they import their butter from France. We ordered the savory crepe and the oeuf cocette, which were all delicious (also why everyone ordered these dishes) and even had their gem salad on the side for some greens. Wish I could give 5 stars but the small portions for the steep prices make this a 4 at most, no matter how incredible the outdoor setup and dishware and food may be. Went for outdoor brunch and it was one of the best sidewalk/street setups I’ve seen so far - digital temperature checks, heat lamps built into the umbrellas, beautiful flowers and vines, lovely place settings. Would definitely recommend for a fall weekend day! Their All Day Menu includes a brunch section with egg and crepe offerings. We got a croque monsieur which was not the best I’ve had — bread was delicious but too crisp to slice to eat it nicely, and hardly had any egg or ham on it for $22, and didn’t come with a side dish or salad. The quiche lorraine was amazing, fluffiest quiche I’ve ever had, but again, for over $20, a small slice of quiche with a couple leaves of arugula as a salad is hard to justify. The espressos are also $7 apiece which is high even for NYC coffees. Other highlights — the flourless chocolate torte is seriously good, and the service couldn’t have been nicer. Plus their dishes, of course, are some of the nicest you’ll see at a restaurant. If the portions were a little better for the price point I’d be much more likely to come back often!

The atmosphere of La Mercerie were on point, but the service was not. My friend and I went on 9/5/23 for Apéro. We had heard they had one of the best chocolate chip cookies.Unfortunately, the service really put a damper on the whole experience. It was not busy when we got seated. One other four top was finishing up and another couple was getting seated. We ordered two drinks, a charcuterie board, side of bread, and 2 chocolate chip cookies. The drinks came out 20 minutes after we ordered them, even though we saw other tables getting seated and given drinks first. We never got our side of bread. The charcuterie board, which came out probably 40 minutes later, was a small plate. Our server only came around once more after our food had been put in, but at this point we had been there for over an hour. While the drinks were actually priced really well and delicious, the service and food portions were very disappointing. The cookie was good, but I don’t think it was very different than anything else I could find. The restaurant was beautiful - so much greenery and beautiful French accents.

Ive lived in France and although this place is cute and very instagrammable, the food is bland just like all the many NY restaurants that try to fool people who dont travel much. Not impressed. Waitress or kitchen made mistakes with the order and two of the dishes we wanted were not available in the afternoon. We should have been told that info as soon as we sat down.

We enjoyed an extraordinary brunch at LeMercerie! Delicious chocolate croissants, Buckwheat Crepes, Croque Madame, chocolate freshly baked cookie and hazelnut cream crepes for dessert. Bellinis and wine topped off our epicurean experience. The venue transported us back to Cannes, exquisitely decorated, remarkable dining ware, and of course, outstanding service. Price point was perfect! Our server, Annika, was outstanding !!! Annika made an already outstanding experience even more outstanding! She explained each creation to us as it was being served, while she offered numerous suggestions that might appeal to us. She is a definite asset to Le Mercerie. Le Mercerie is a shining star! Reservations are a must especially for weekend brunch. Bon Appetit!!!

Popped in here midday to treat my sister to some bubbles for all her good work as an aunt, having read all about the special champagne bar that uses unique glassware for the drinks. Imagine my surprise when the bar was closed--even after Id emailed them two weeks earlier to ask about it and never got a response. Not off to a great start. Hosts were friendly enough, but it seemed that the only seats available were seated in a steaming hot rays of sunshine, a nicety for hothouse flowers and other greenhouse staples, but not so nice for two siblings whose favorite color is black. We had a few rounds of bubbles and cocktails, all of which were perfectly nice, along with some bread and cheese which was good, if eye-poppingly expensive, even for us.Service felt like we were being helped by the bus boys (again, friendly enough), a strange decision considering how quiet it was in the restaurant and how definitely-not-cheap everything was. At one moment, my sister observed an idling staff member picking their nose. Nice. The nifty twist of La Mercerie is supposed to be the housewares section in store, where you can pick up glassware from the aforementioned closed specialty bar and other--surprise--pricey items. Its definitely worth a look if youre headed down Houston, although its small (or curated, as a PR rep would say).Im not the target demo for places like La Mercerie, but judging on the scant clientele, pricing, and slightly aloof service, Im not sure who is. European tourists? Wannabe-rich housewives? The blind who wont observe errant nose picking?Maybe Ill swing by again for a proper lunch or dinner to see if theres more heft to La Mercerie than my first impression suggested--but only if I can be sure their champagne bar is open.

First as a Founder and designer in Hospitality industry for over 25 years the atmosphere created by Roman & Williams is just pure magic. The space feels elegant and sophisticated but yet approachable. The service is truly impeccable, other high end restaurants should take note on quality of services at La Mercerie, the food is beautifully presented and delicious as it should be as they calibrate with local farms in New York State, a true Farm to table French Experience. Afterwards if you feel inclined to shop their table top accessories for a something your missing for you home you can shop their lines at the back of the store. 10 out of 10 great experience the moment you walk in to the door as it should be.

We wished we would have read the reviews before visiting here. Someone wrote that this restaurant is like a well dressed, good looking person with no substance whatsoever and that could not have been phrased more perfectly. The minute you arrive you will be wowed by how beautiful the restaurant is. Truly lovely aesthetics and ambiance. Our hostess however was not welcoming, warm, and had this rude attitude. This left a bad taste in our mouths already. We were sat down and greeted by our server. He was not friendly at all and we noticed that everyone who works here for some reason carries this rude, unpleasant, and unwelcoming demeanour. The food was very disappointing. We ordered the lemon appetizer and main course features, as well as the cod main course. All extremely small portions, confusing flavours, and you will feel very ripped off.You are definitely paying to eat on nice plates and dishes, use nice cutlery, and to soak in the beauty of the aesthetic. And these things only.Someone mentioned the best way to enjoy this restaurant is to look at it from across the street. Would only recommend a walk in tour of the place and nothing more. Waste of money. Extremely disappointing how restaurants can rip off customers and out of country visitors like this.P.S. Very interesting how the restaurant only addresses/acknowledges positive google reviews and fails to adresss on any of the poor experiences/responses. Speaks a lot about their character.

It’s so cute inside and out server was sweet. food came out efficiently. we ordered lightly, only sharing the sweet crepes and a chocolate chip cookie. they have a popular chocolate chip cookie which a lot of people say is the best in nyc. it’s pretty good and i like the touch of sea salt that they add. i definitely think it’s better than other places like levain or funny face but i’m not sure if it’s my favorite. it’s very good quality but it’s about $7 which i think is little crazy for a cookie although it is big. the sweet crepes weren’t that great themselves. i’m the type of person that can eat a crepe completely plain but these lacked flavor. they were already buttered and they came with a vanilla bean sugar and a homemade jam. the sugar and the jam were both amazing but didn’t provide enough flavor for the crepes. they were also relatively small at such a high price. i would go back because the pastries looked good and some of the other dishes also looked very good.

Ambiance changed from elegant & romantic to brightly lit shopping. We had 3 different servers during the course of the evening. Our Salmon entree got mixed up with a chicken instead. It tasted good so we did not point out the mistake. Also got billed $10 extra for a Shrimp Apero. This was rectified. We arrived at 4:30 but ordered from both menus. Needs to be more organized…The Apero menu is 3-5 pm Monday- Friday. Dinner starts at 5 pm. Overall the food was good but lacked excitement. The food was amazing and the restaurant was gorgeous. However, it was not difficult to see that the management is really lacking. The hostesses all acted as if it was their first day on the job and had no idea what they were doing. All 4 of them were crowded around the stand with 3 of them doing nothing to help other people waiting while 1 spent 10 minutes just trying to find one women’s reservation. In that time, a crowd of 20 people accumulated in the entrance waiting to see the hostess stand for their tables despite their being a second tablet with a seating chart that could’ve been used to seat other people. This just seemed very unorganized and unprofessional for such a popular, notable, and expensive spot. Additionally, our mains took forever to come out. We ordered the berries and cream and a croissant to start and got the crepe as our mains and it took about 30-45 minutes after we finished our starters before the crepes finally came. The table next to us got their mains before us, which included the same crepe, despite arriving and ordering after us. There were also tons of empty tables around us, so not quite sure why it could’ve possibly taken that long. Finally, our waiter barely checked in on us, never asking if we wanted refills on our drinks or if we needed anything else. I absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere but the hospitality and attention to customers needs to seriously improve.

Cool decor but absurdly overpriced mediocre food. La Mercerie may be a good place to drop by for a drink but I wouldnt ever eat here again. I ordered the lobster salad, foie gras, and an oat milk latte -- with tax and tip, it ended up being $80+ just for those 3 items!. I wouldnt normally mind if the food was good but the food was mediocre and portions were small. I asked the server how much lobster would be in the salad before ordering and was told 1/2 a lobster. As you can see in the photo (dish on the right) they must have found the worlds smallest lobster. The few small pieces of lobster are flanked by potatoes chips (yes, just ordinary potatoes chips) and hidden under the Mayo sauce. Seriously embarassing.

Food was great but not satisfying. I am 5’9 and 50 kg but love a good meal. Service also good but definitely not worth the $400 US price tag for 1.5 hour lunch. As I said, food is good, lean, small, good if you are on a diet. But better go Crosby St Hotel bar for snacks and atmosphere or Balthazar’s for French food. Cipriani Downtown also great if u can pay the $$. Sorry La Mercerie but not the vibe we want.

The place is quaint. It has character. The food is a bit of hit or miss. We had the anchois with sourdough, French onion soup, salad, gratin, crepe saumon, steak, cod. The French onion was a big disappointment as its super salty. The anchois came with 1 slice of bread sliced in 2. There were about 8 slivers of fish. So, the fish & bread are not balanced. Steak is not the best we have had. The saumon ought to be done as gravlax with avocado or something. Its very bland even with the sauce. I cant comment on the cod or the gratin as my daughter ordered that. Given that almost everything has issues, Ill venture a guess that they were also with issues. We didnt get dessert as they were missing the berries on the menu & the tarte tatin was no longer made. So, when we asked for the bill, the waiter said, Can I get u coffee while u wait for the bill? He made it sound like its free but came on the tab. We had him removed it. Fortunately for him, I still tip the guy. Albeit, at a less onerous sum. There were more people (3) working the front desk than waiting. As we walked out, none said good night or any pleasantries. The staff is so unprofessional!

My husband and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night at 745 in February. We were excited to try this restaurant as we are big fans of Starr restaurants. We were definitely underwhelmed with almost everything. This restaurant is the person that is always dressed impeccably but has no actual substance behind them. The restaurant is also very pretentious, which is expected for where and what it is, it just doesn’t have the goods to back it up. They use the Spanish word for foam (espuma) on their French menu. How many people are going to know what this means? It just seemed obnoxious. On top of that, the table has a very awkward base that make it difficult to comfortably rest your feet. There is a wall of two person tables that require people to sit next to one another rather than across; likely so they could fit more tables. The food was also so boring and poorly plated. My husband got to the beef bourguignon which is the most bland version of that dish I’ve ever tried. I had the halibut which is also not something I’d ever want to try again. Finally, the service was not great. Our waiter asked if we wanted him to go over the menu and he just showed us which sections had the appetizers and mains; something that was already insanely obvious. Another server was visibly annoyed when we politely asked her to remake a drink that was not made how we had ordered. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere; however, i’d rather be at pastis which has exceptional food to go with their lovely atmosphere. You can enjoy the most this restaurant has to offer by looking in the window from the street.

Alright. So this review is based on todays unpleasant experience. On a sunny Friday afternoon, this establishment presented over six empty outdoor tables, all of them bathed in sun. No reservation notes visible, all tables set for guests. We decided to kindly ask if we may sit outside at one of the many empty tables to enjoy the sun. Upon our request at the front desk service manager staff to get a outdoor table for a quick coffee, we were greeted by a rather unpleasant laugh-in-the face attitude by the staff and told that there is no space available. I mentioned the fact that the tables are all empty, after which I received the reply that only one server is working and there is no space left - all with a very smug grin. This made no sense. Now I will add that this, I will admit, very beautiful establishment did seem to serve a quite elitary clientele, so maybe the staff decided our appearance did not fit the establishments vibe. As someone who has worked in multiple high-star hotels in Zurich with service-gastronomy background I simply can not understand having multiple sunbathed seats (in Manhattan) which are empty and set for customers, but refusing to accomodate, neither can I understand the rude attitude which seemed slightly insulting. Had their seats been reserved, then we kindly would have understood and left. But the uninviting and smug attitude of the staff left a very sour impression on us. Ill keep my money and recommendation.

The space is so unique: you can see right in the kitchen which was a beautiful orchestration, the guild area is so beautiful, and I walked downstairs to the bathroom and got a sneak of the employees setting up a BEAUTIFUL long table for a special lunch. It looked like it may be a wedding or baby shower. It was classy, bright, and beautiful. We ordered the tomato and fennel seasonal quiche, an almond croissant, yogurt and berries, and the crepes au sucre. It was the best meal I had in the city during this trip. My mom commented that “this is how a quiche should be cooked” and that it was soft and fluffy. Food is below average, zero flavour. The service is also nothing to write home about, salt and pepper arrived after I’d finished my meal. My friends food came 5 minutes after my food arrived.

Delicious Food and atmosphere! Bad thing is that we had to wait for The whole party to arrive in order to be served. Not even bread was provided. Also we asked for a table which was empty, and the manager said it was for a bigger party. It remained empty one hour and it was given to a smaller party than mine.

I must say I was a bit disappointed. I found it to be overpriced for the portion sizes and quality for the foods. The space felt cramped and lacked ambiance, making it difficult to fully enjoy the dining experience (Was told to push our tables in several times due to lack of space). Despite the friendly staff, the small space detracted from the overall atmosphere.

The decor inside is absolutely beautiful, food is great although the lunch menu was not much of a selection. But the food is great! When it comes to the service, there is hardly any service from our waiter, but everyone else is nice.

This is a nice french brassiere located in the guild hardware store on canal street.Quality of dishes was excellent, however several of the popular choices were sold out by 1:00 pm on Mother’s Day.

Lovely service and ambiance. Dinner here took us right back to Paris. It’s a slower paced service than most New York spots, but that is part of the charm. Must try!!

Disclaimer: I ONLY had their chocolate chip cookie but if the rest of the restaurant is as good as this cookie, then its an easy 5 stars. The cookies were fantastic with a great salty/sweet thing going on. The restaurant itself also looked super cute and the food looked delicious so I am, without a doubt, coming back to try some of their delicious looking brunch items.

Came here for an anniversary dinner that wasn’t even acknowledged (what’s the point of adding a note when making the reservation?). We sat outside because inside was booked. Our server never introduced himself- only found out his name is Mohamed by reading it on our check- he rarely came by to check in on us. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t very great. The only item we had that we can recommend is the steak tartare. Sadly, I’m disappointed with our experience and won’t be going back or recommending it to anyone.

Authentic French experience - servers ignore you, food takes long to arrive, out of half the menu items (even baguettes!). Food was authentic and good though.

French restaurant located in the Soho district. The location is beautiful and meticulously maintained. The outdoor patio is very nice.I had lunch at this restaurant ordering several seafood dishes. The food is very good 😋 although I was expecting slightly larger portions. For the cost of the restaurant, in my opinion the service should be improved. The chocolate cake is excellent.I recommend the brunch than lunch or dinner!!!

Fantastic as usual. Great service, great menu, and the crêpe complete is to die for. The asperges verte were a bit overcooked, but everything else was wonderful

Average overhyped place… not worth the price nor the reels. Pastries were good but that’s it. Nothing special about them.

Beautiful restaurant, refined French food which was absolutely delicious, staff was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend! 😍🤌The only thing I’d change is having hot chocolate sauce instead of cold, with the Profiteroles 🙏

One of the best dinners I’ve ever had. From the bread and butter to the fluke and short rib pasta, every bite of each dish was incredible. To top it off, our server, Haley, was kind, funny, and helpful. I can’t wait to come back and enjoy more of what La Mercerie has to offer.

Service is very poor. Rude hostess told us upon arrival we would need to leave the table in 1 and a half hour. Waiter very impolite, did not make any effort to speak English. Although the menu stated the $24 dessert would be “fraises and framboises” with cream only strawberries were served and there was no apology. Do not waste your time at this place.

I loved everything about this place. First of all it is located in a quiet cobblestone street in Manhattan which is rare to find! The portions are small but delicious and yes it is on the more pricey side. The drink was pretty good and because the portions were small we were able to have some dessert too.
