One of better k bbqs in NYC, we really enjoyed the meat here. They try to give traditional wooden floor exp which is cool, but it is not the most practical way of getting in and out (not to mention I felt bad for the dude cooking the bbq on his knees for inside table). Overall pretty good quality of food, service, and vibe. Reservation recommended for dinner time.
We were looking for a Korean BBQ that allowed bookings and wasn’t too overpriced. This is it.If you don’t mind the matter in which the seating works, ie you need to climb into your seat, then this place is great. The bbq options are extensive, thou more pork options wouldn’t go a miss. The service is a little manic but it’s what you come to expect in a place like this in the heart of KoreaTown. The martinis were good, so much so we had severalOur only real negative point was the noise levels. Hard to hear each other.
After walking around the city for hours, we were so happy to find a place that was open! The staff were absolutely lovely and extremely attentive. The kimchi pancake and japchae were definitely my favourites but they had a good variety of banchan. Would 100% recommend! I’ll have to come back for barbecue next time.
Probably my fifth or sixth visit before posting a review, this is a pretty reliable Korean barbecue restaurant in KTown. A couple of things to know, they assume that you will be having barbecue, unless you specify differently. If you’re not having barbecue, they will ask you to move from a barbecue table. If you are having barbecue, they require you to order a minimum of two expensive barbecue dishes. They also warn you about time limits for occupying the table. I believe these are a throwback to the Covid time when they needed to turntables quickly to stay afloat, however, these days it is a little bit offputting to be told that you have to leave the table by a certain time. The service is efficient, but relatively brusque, they could use a little bit of charm school. At this dinner, we had the seafood pancake, the barbecued pork belly, and the Bulgogi. Later we added japchae and tteoboki since a couple of us were still hungry. In the end it was something like $260 for the four of us including three of the small bottles of Soju,, not cheap, but we left with full bellies and satisfied. Would be great if they put a little bit more effort into being even a little bit friendlier.
BBQ was great. All of the lunch meals were also great.
With all the choices you have in NYC, this needs to be on your list. The staff, the decor, the food, and the wine are the best of the best. I left hours ago and I cant wait to go back. Its the real deal Korean BBQ. You can cook at your table or order of the fully prepared menu. Its located in a great location in the heart of the city and they are doing everything right. And I would try every dumpling on the menu. We had one of each and there was not one that disappointed. The management has just put every thought into each item on the menu and trained their staff to deliver a top notch culinary delight. I cant say loud enough you need to go there today!
Great for meals with orhers. Can order cooked dishes as well as those cooked on a grill prepared by a server. Good quality and very tasty. Excellent atmosphere - modern without being stuffy. Good ventilation.
Korean BBQ… I love Kimchi and Korean Food.. loved the veggie pancake… it had a little kick but I liked it.. after we got the pork belly… I can eat this like pop corn. After came the kimchi stew.. a little be spicy but it was delicious. We got the Galbi supreme beef and a side order of rice. Loved the beef, with kimchi, lettuce and the side dishes. Ordered a bottle sake Wakatake Daiginjo. The only difference from the first time I visited before the pandemic I believe the portions got a little smaller. But loved the food.
I used to go and eat here , before covid lockdowns. Went here after a long time .. nothing much has changed . Tough to get seats in the evening or on weekends. Actually love the setup inside with low chairs and grills.. sat outside this time .As always , they bring starters which is sumptuous and awesome . Kimchi, sprouts, bean jelly, radish, seaweed and beef I think. Most of the veggies tasted awesome . I wanted chicken dish , but there weren’t many . Mostly beef. I ordered a spicy chicken dish and it was OK . Not special . Had few asahi too. Overall a good Experience !
Food was good. Good quality meat and thick. Service was also professional. So all expected. But somehow I felt like I was eating fast food. Felt rushed for some reason. Didn’t have that warm feeling that they welcome you as a guest. From entering to leaving it took us 50 mins.
Hands down a 5 star place both for food and service. Korean seafood pancake was fantastic. Sitting down and getting up can be tricky because of the tables arrangements but if you are comfortable sitting down and getting up of the floor you’ll be fine (unless you are wearing mine skirt).
Definitely top 5 Korean BBQ in NYC Ktown; made phone reservation with Yooha, who went above & beyond to help me find photo on Google maps of the exact pair of tables I needed together for party of 12 from out of town (thank you so much!); excellent quality premium short ribs both marinated & non-marinated; fresh 반찬 (side dishes); expert grill service, efficient/professional staff, welcoming host/hostess, modern atmosphere, upbeat vibe, not cramped seating/tables, good variety in menu; support your local restaurants & small businesses 👍
It was a great night visiting the place! Food was good, services were perfect, people were friendly. ✨✨✨They have various side dishes and are refillable like a real Korean restaurant! I really respect this part.3 ppl we ordered a soup, a pancake, and two orders of bbq (with two bowls of rice.) And we were full! (Thanks to the side dishes lol)Definitely recommend this place although personally I will not go for the bbq but other Korean dishes next time. Really want to visit again.
This is a good korean bbq spot. I went with a group of friends so we had the fortune of trying a variety of meats. The meat, itself, was good. I had very few complaints about the food while I dined there. The only reason that I would give this a 4/5 is the price. For what youre getting and the quality of the meat, I think the experience is overpriced. I went with 5 other guys and our bill ended up being approximately $540 ($90 per person) while just getting the standard priced meats. There are a number of kbbq spots where you can get similar quality of cuts and a much more fun environment for less than half of the price per person. Of course, if youre wanting kbbq for a big event like an anniversary or a promotion, then this is a solid option.
Even though we didnt have a reservation, we got a table when we walked in on a Thursday evening for dinner. The bbq was absolutely delicious. Our favorite was the spicy marinated prime rib eye steak.Second time there and the place didnt disappoint.
Very good korean restaurant. We got an order for 2 of meat and seafood and that was a lot of food. Japchae was delicious. Kimchee was still crunchy. The best part is you dont leave the place smelling liked grilled beef. They really have an efficient exhaust. Lychee soju was refreshing.
I found the food to be pretty good (not amazing) but the prices were noticeably higher than most of the other places in k-town. So the value is not great. For example, that same Baekjong next door has meats that are just as delicious but are $5-10 cheaper. Their alcohol is even worse with cocktails at $17-20 and small soju bottles being sold for $20 that’s way above what you’ll find in surrounding restaurants. I suppose they position themselves as a higher end restaurant as opposed to some of the rowdier establishments. But I didn’t really get any sophisticated vibe: it’s quite small, the decor is average, presentation of dishes is standard.
This place was phenomenal. It was so clean and modern and sleek and well designed. For a grill your own barbecue kind of restaurant I didn’t expect this level of professionalism and cleanliness and all the servierswere very beautiful and attentive and I was so impressed by how professional and courteous they were. I’m not gonna lie I had a little bit of an attitude coming into the dinner because I thought this place was located at a different location that was on Google maps and I just had a really difficult day in the city but they were so accommodating and even when I was a little bit snippy in the beginning they were so kind. I ended up having a really wonderful conversation with one of the servers and we bonded as people who wanted to go into the same field in the future. The workers were very personable and I think that made all the difference. Overall I had such a great time here and I highly recommend. The food is amazing and there’s such good traditional dishes as well as bomb cocktails seriously such a good place. Highly recommend!
I went here for lunch and had the BO Special (see photo) which is the short ribs. It was solid. It was just very slightly sweet and salty, and came with onions. They also brought out a bunch of additional smaller foods (see photo) like kimchi, sprouted beans, beef & garlic. I liked the smaller plates a lot. It was a solid amount of meat. It also came with white rice and I left a little tired.
This restaurants offers a plethora of authentic Korean dishes, which we were happy to see amongst all the new fusion, “Americanized” Korean food menus in NYC. We really enjoyed everything we ordered: saeng kalbi, kimchi soondubu, kimchi jjigae, and dubu kimchi. All had classic, simple, and clean Korean flavors, and made with notably quality ingredients. Unfortunately, where they fell VERY short was with their service. Our waiter was very short and rude with us, made it seem like an inconvenience for wanting to eat outdoors (they had *plenty* of tables available, and the kitchen was still open), and only came to check on us once throughout our meal. This meant no more water, and anything extra we would actually would have ordered (like more sides, or an extra dish we were considering) was business lost for them. Really unfortunate because the food tasted great. We’d have loved to come back but not worth paying such a hefty bill if there’s a huge lack of service that comes with it. If I’m spending more for great food, the service should be there, too.
A Korean B.B.Q meal is always a social evening, sitting around the grill plate, the selection of sauces, salads and the excellent meat make the meal a tasty celebration. In Dons Bogham you may find all those elements that makes the meal a celebration. We really enjoyed the food and service and highly recomended.
Dons Bogam is an outstanding Korean BBQ restaurant with fantastic food and exceptional service. The highlight of our experience was our server, who cooked the food for us right at our table. Not only was this a fun and interactive experience, but it also ensured that our food was cooked to perfection. The menu offered a wide variety of options, including a delicious array of meats and vegetables. We particularly enjoyed the beef bulgogi and the kimchi fried rice. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and the portion sizes were generous. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also top-notch. The decor was elegant and modern, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We felt comfortable and relaxed throughout our meal.Overall, we highly recommend Dons Bogam to anyone looking for delicious Korean BBQ and outstanding service. We cant wait to go back!
Great quality of meats and food. Always have people cook for you on table. The side dishes are always refilled and renewed.Always make reservations in advance and arrive on time. The group wont be seated unless everyone arrive.
Super nice and quick serviceWe ordered 2 Beef BBQ plates and 2 starters for 6 people, everything was fresh and delicious
Fantastic meal. Server will grill all the meat for you and potion it to the number of diners. Only down side, it gets smoky in here and the ac is a little weak. Time to upgrade those smoke vents !!
Beef short rib is great; beef tongue is ok, and pork belly looks from frozen
Price is on the higher end, taste is good but I’ve had better kbbq in this area…
Everything was soooooo good. We ordered a few plates of meats as well as the seafood pancake and the half and half cold noodles. The seafood pancake and cold noodles pair well with the grilled meats, which were incredibly well marinaded.
Food was great as always, we were the only people there. Regardless waiters did not pay attention to what we ordered and brought the weong item.
Fantastic food, great ambiance and superb service. The wait was a little under 20 minutes during a very busy day and while the wait staff was definitely running around trying to serve everyone I never felt neglected by my waiter. I brought a friend who had never had Korean food and our waiter was super helpful in the food selection process. A long time lover of Korean cuisine I would rate this on the top 3 places I’ve eaten outside Korea. The galbi bibimbap was fresh and well cooked and the cold noodles were well balanced and refreshing. The selection of banchan was a bit surprising as I’m not used to seeing such diversity. Highly recommend this place!
Best tasting Korean bbq in K-town! Great atmosphere and service. The meat portion size is a bit less than the other places Ive been to, so you might not be full by eating the bbq alone.
I sat at the bar, and James was awesome. very attentive and personable. I ended up staying way longer than I meant to. Thank you for an enjoyable dinner.
The meal was hearty and copious.I am not used to Korean food and I loved all the different flavours.
The food tasted good overall, but dont think it has very good value for your buck. There were only three meats for something along the lines of $100.The seafood pancake was very good though I cannot deny. Dumplings are just okay.If you come here, would recommend you get the meat set and seafood pancake. Beware of your wallet. :)
I really thought this place was going to be amazing never had Korean barbecue before this was going to be my 1st time. There was so much positive feed about this place of the food the set up the way the restaurant is designed the staff so I was expecting an amazing time needless to say it was not. One thing drove me crazy is that me and my fellow date have never add barbecue and at Korean bbq spot. So I asked my waiter can you help us he said absolutely Ill hook you up with a great experience we are feeling totally confident needless to say we had 5 other waiters and waitresses in I never seen the 1st day I was totally disarranged a had no idea how to experience my dinner the correct way. The food was alright of the meat tasted very salty and in this kind of expensive I feel we paid $150 for honestly I have no idea it didnt seem like a lot of food We didnt drink any alcohol so the 150 was Tolly just on food. Honestly I feel that theres other Korean spots within the city limits that you could probably find a better experience at then here I was Super surprised after noticing that on the door they have the michelin star review guide that in a you have to qualify to be inside of their guide in the 1st place but it doesnt seem that its been updated in some time check out other ones before you go here #cheflife
I would recommend as a total experience, however this type of experience it’s not my personal preference, cause you carry out the food smell, another down side for me, was the stickiness of the environment, I guess it a cultural thing. Very professional but very serious never ever a welcome smile.
Their pickled radish side dish is so so good, as is their bibimbap. Sadly I didn’t order that (my friend did), but the seafood tofu soup I got was decent as well. Easier to get a table if you don’t want to do kbbq.
Wonderful! Something completely new for me. The service was great. The food was great. The atmosphere great. I will definitely go back.
The side dishes were all clean, not too strong in flavor, and delicious. We ordered the fresh short ribs, and the meat was clean and cooked perfectly by the servers, making it even more enjoyable. Meat always tastes better when someone else grills it for you!For dessert, we ordered bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles). It suited my taste, but the seasoning was a bit too strong, which was a bit disappointing. I think the mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth) is cleaner and tastier. Additionally, we ordered the lunch special combo with bibimbap and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). The bibimbap sauce was delicious, and overall, the dish was flavorful. The doenjang jjigae was mildly seasoned, not too strong, and just right. The atmosphere was great, and overall, the food was excellent. I highly recommend this place!
Amazing! The best Korean food Ive had! Love their kimchi, it has perfect taste and just enough sweetness. Their bibimbap was beyond awesome. Even tofu soup that I never eat and only try from others was great here and I liked it a lot. I went there two times in a week and will be definitely coming back. I think they also have lunch specials.
Loving it! Here for lunch. Amazing food here. And it’s on the pricier side but for the quality it’s totally worth it. Only down side is that service could be better especially for the price you are paying.
The food was quite good and the service fast. However, the ambiance was super noisy. Very hard to have a conversation.
Love this place. We had the pork Belly, steak and bulgogi. Added japgae, scallion pancakes, tteok-bokki and banchans. All washed down with soju and beer. Died and went to heaven.
Excellent quality food, though prices are high and portions aren’t as big as I would have liked.
Decent place (among the many terrible places and tourists traps in k-town) for Korean BBQ and cold noodles. Would visit again.
Went here for dinner and the food was great! So tasty and perfect for fulfilling your KBBQ craving. We sat in the outdoor area but it was completely enclosed and felt super safe and private. The service was fast and everything tasted great - would definitely recommend!
We didnt have a reservation, but luckily we got the table. The food was so great, the price was reasonable, and the service was phenomenal. Definitely visit again when I am going to NYC.
Absolutely amazing! It was our first time having Korean BBQ and everything was beautifully seasoned, prepared, and seamless. We highly suggest the marinated chicken. Props to the staff for incredible service!!
Id never experienced Korean BBQ but my husband thought Id like it, so we made reservations for our first anniversary while we were in NYC. It was excellent through and through, and the staff was very helpful in regards to my dietary restrictions! Im allergic to gluten, dairy, and chicken, and everything on the menu was clearly marked. When they brought the sides and toppings, they went over which ones were safe for me and which ones were just for my husband. Everything was phenomenal. I had zero reactions, and if wed had a microwave in our hotel room you bet wed have taken a bunch of leftovers back with us!! We ordered way too much food but we wanted to try different things, and to our servers credit, he did tell us we had likely chosen plenty of food. 🤣
Delicious food, great atmosphere and observant, helpful staff! I was struggling to understand how to eat my entree, and the waiter noticed and gave me advice! Great experience!
Great food and service. Highly recommend the BBQ, especially the Galbi, the jeyuk-bokkeum and the Kkaennip-Bulgogi.
Stopped in here to have a drink since it was posted as a wine bar. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was decent. Definitely not what we were used to being a wine bar. But, we are from the Midwest
Absolutely loved our experience at Dons Bogam. I was expecting to cook our meat like you usually do in a Korean restaurant, but the cooks came out and did it perfectly. Loved all of the sides with our meal. Thanks for a great New Years Eve experience!
Food was very yummy but service was a bit slow. We had to ask for extra plates a few times and waited for the check for a while.
Absolutely fantastic. Due to COVID they cook the meat for you, so it’s cooked to perfection. Update: returned for a second time, and it did not disappoint. Their consistency is outstanding!
This was my first time visiting Dons Bogam, and I had a great time with my friends! It’s perfect for enjoying Korean BBQ with girlfriends. The meats were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The side dished were delicious, and we also enjoyed some drinks for the weekend. I got so caught up in the food that I completely forgot to take a picture! Lol!
Superv authentic experience and fun ambiance. My only regret is that the wait staff did ask the meat cooking and flipping, which is the most fun part!
Terrific experience…so much so, my 14-year old insisted we go back again the next day.
I ordered a seasoned mixed platter and it was my first time trying it in Manhattan. It was very delicious. The portion size was just right and the quality of the meat was excellent. The staff were friendly, and the Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) in particular was very tasty
My expectations were low, as I am the only person in my family that isn’t huge fan of Asian cuisine. This dinner changed that perception for me, will definitely return! Food was great, service was fantastic, great wine selection! Thank you!
Fantastic Korean BBQ right there in K-Town. It was easy to make reservations, and a nice selection of platters.Definitely try the specialty cocktails to get the evening started right.
The BBQ short ribs were fabulous. We also got the Ribeye. I would stick with the short ribs they were stand out delicious! Restaurant has a cool upscale vibe. You will not smell like BBQ when you leave.
This place is a fantastic Korean 🇰🇷 restaurant 🍴 and barbecue! ♨️ Dons Bogam offers a wonderful selection of delicious 🤤 Korean dishes 🍽️ - definitely try the Chicken 🐔 Bibimbap (Chicken 🍗, vegetable 🥬, over rice 🍚), Steamed Eggs 🥚, or their BBQ lunch special! Service is fast ⏲️, staff 👨🍳 is friendly and helpful, and the ambience 🎶 is nice! They have plenty of indoor seating. 🪑 This place has been a Michelin ⭐ recommended for years! 🗓️ I wish I knew about this place earlier!
Situated in the middle of Korea town, surrounded by some very good Korean restaurants, Dons Bogam is definitely making a name for itself. Beyond the great ambience, not so great welcome service, friendly wait staff, what really makes this place special is the great quality of meats and food. It can be on the pricier side but the quality of the food and the ingredients make up for it. They also have a good selection of drinks and wines. The service however, felt a little rushed at times. Always have someone cook for you on table. The side dishes are always refilled and renewed. It can get really busy during dinner so reservations are always recommended.
This place was really good. The food was great- High quality ingredients, well-seasoned, and the staff was very attentive about cooking it to perfection and distributing it around the table. The only thing that could have been a little better was that there wasn’t a lot of variety in the banchan. We did not get into their wine selection and just stuck with beers for the meal, but the cocktails were decent. Will be back the next time we need a Korean BBQ fix!
Good service and short rib. Outdoor dining could use some plastic dividers though.
Great Korean bbq. We really enjoyed. A little pricey but great food and solid service in a really nice space.
Best of the Best.Early Friday nightServers were so kind and attentive. Felt like red carpet treat.Food Was great, obviously. We ordered Beef platter for two consisted of five different part of beef. It was way enough for two of us. Other than that, we added fried shrimp shumai and Mild Cod soup. Phenominal! Everythings were perfect.Even better with soju & Korean beer. Just right for Bulgeum(Blazing Friday night in Korean)One of the best dinining out experience ever. I got to love NY even more thanks to Doneubogam. Thank you all staffs there. Wish you the best!Absolutely highly recommended!Dont miss it New Yorkers & tourists! Give it a try, there will be no regret.
Such a fun experience. Great food and the staff was very helpful. We had been wanting to have an authentic Korean BBQ dinner for some time and finally had the opportunity. (We used to go to one in Arlington VA that was amazing! Its hard to find ones that you actually BBQ yourself). Though they actually did the BBQing for us, it was fine. They kept coming around to set things up and get us organized. The drinks were good too. Cant wait to go back. But go with a larger group so you can try more things. We were only 3 and one is vegan, so the other 2 of us had to share and there was so much food.
Great food, attentive staff. Highly recommend!
Very sophisticated ambiance. Felt a little fancy early aughts or late 90s but that’s en vogue again so I’ll accept it.I didn’t get bbq. But the lunch was good. Kimchi jigae a little sweet for my taste. Banchan was especially good (not all banchan are created equal!).Definitely not what I would want pregaming for karaoke but looks like a nice vibe for a date of or a group celebration.
Probably the best Asian meal I’ve had in decades. Just amazing service. Spicy marinade ribeye was fabulous!
Food was absolutely incredible! We got the beef and marinated beef platters, awesome marbling on the cuts. Lychee soju was bomb.
Such a nice place to come and enjoy dinner! If you’re looking for any high quality of K-bbq restaurant, I would recommend this place.Especially, make sure you try the Marinated short rib It’s the best meat you can try.
I stumbled upon this place at night and then eventually came around back for lunch with people visiting the city. It is a reliable place to get Korean food in the area, and also conveniently not directly on the busiest street of K-Town yet not too far from the train station. The exterior storefront design itself is eyecatching and you can see the bar within, as well as the deep interior with many tables, set for barbecue or no. The ventilation system is decent. You can still smell your neighbors food cooking, but you wont leave smelling like it. Servers when I went were a bit sparse, but not utterly unattentive. We had to flag them down sometimes to get a refill of our water. The wait time for food wasnt too bad and they did try to bring everything out at once. The food is very good and of a variety you would expect from a Korean restaurant. The amount and quality of Banchan was pleasant and their kimchi was not super strong but very good to complement the fatty foods like pork belly. Despite the fact that the tteokbokki is listed as an appetizer, I honestly thought it was filling enough, so that was a good deal. The stews and naengmyun were also very good, with the kimchi jjigae being the standout with its spice.
Great Korean barbecue place highly recommended.
I go to Koreatown quite a bit as well restaurants in Palisades Park, but this is on my never go back again list. We spent $426 on Sept 29. Among other items we ordered a Seafood Platter. It came with with a couple of scallops, maybe 4 shrimp and one small lobster. It was burned and overcooked. When I spoke to the manager they offered us another coke. On top the food being subpar, the hefty bill, the customer services was equally as bad. With the wonderful Korean places in K-town I would stay of this one. I think they let their rating go to their head.
Great food but i think for the price, the portion should be bigger and i think there are better kbbq restaurants in nyc (this one wasnt bad tho! still good 😄)
Food here is amazing and delicious 😋 The service can be a little haphazard. Our female server could never be found, so we had to ask other people to replenish our side dishes, constantly. Before we even ordered meat, I ordered steam egg and cold green tea noodle soup. She forgot the steamed egg completely and the noodles came out when we were already done with our BBQ. Other than service, the food tasted great.
The service was ok but food was excellent.
All of my stars are for the food. The service left much to be desired. Had to track people down for refills, the check, everything. Its too bad really.
Went out for work dinner. Fantastic Asian dining
The food and atmosphere were fantastic. Spent $100/ea, but it is some of the best Korean bbq around, and it is very modern and clean with mostly attentive staff.Made a reservation for 7, but was not allowed to be seated until most of us were there. Then there were only 6 seats and they had to cram 7 into 6. Had to ask a couple times for more water, sauce, rice, and banchan. Overall good experience and less crowded than the other Korean bbq places in the area.
Really enjoyed my dinner experience here with my husband. We both shared an appetizer and prime ribeye. It was delicious. All of the little side dishes were so fun to try. Had no idea they kept refilling them as you ate them. Our server was very nice and attentive. I liked that we were sat spaced apart. We will definitely return in the future!
Food was really good, but the portions are small and very expensive. I went with a friend for lunch here and we had a reservation which was nice. Place has a nice ambiance. We ordered the 2 person portion with spicy marinated short ribs, marinated rib eye, marinated short ribs and mushrooms. The mushrooms were literally just 4 slices and we were done in no time. It was $109 for very little food though. They were checking vaccine cards though and service was attentive.
Unbelievable! This place didn’t let us sit because they didn’t allow my service dog at the restaurant!! I showed all my documentation and they said “I cant identify this dog to be the one in the document”. I had no trouble getting on planes with these documents. Absolutely unreasonable.Edit: this was not a communication issue. I showed the documents that allows my dog on planes and the lady did not approve it. She then clearly told me I can’t verify these documents to be your dog and made me leave. Which part of that is a communication issue.
Great attentive staff & food is delish w. a nice ambiance.
Our first experience with true Korean BBQ. Food was delicious, served quickly. Additional dishes confused us but asked, they explained and we enjoyed! Marinated short ribs and seafood fried rice were standouts. Service was adequate but couldnt find waitress to get bill and pay.
I came here with my boyfriend last week for my birthday. We didn’t have a reservation, but thankfully we managed to get seated quickly. The food was fresh and well-balanced. I was thrilled with their soju options. I’ll admit, I felt they were a bit pricey. BUT their service makes it worth every penny! Aaron, our server, was so attentive. He provided excellent recommendations and checked in on us frequently to make sure we were happy. His kindness and engaging personality are why we will return with a larger party.
This place is probably the best option for a traditional Korean BBQ dinner in K-Town. The options are fantastic, the cuts are great, and the service is top notch. They went out of their way to create an experience for my wife’s sisters and their partners and to explain the various cuts and how to use the accompaniments. Everyone enjoyed their meal and left very full and satisfied.
Beautiful Korean BBQ restaurant in Midtown. First time experience for me and it was absolutely amazing. Service was impeccable. Food was cooked to perfection. The Lychee Martini was delicious. Pricey but worth every penny.
We visited in a group of 14 and the service was great. They sat us at two of the large tables, which worked great for our group. Lots of us, so they cooked the barbecue for us; they never got in the way and were super quick. At the same time, we didnt feel rushed. The meat was all great, including the seafood; the scallops were a personal favorite. The stallion pancake was ok, Ive had better at other Korean barbecues. I would definitely recommend this place for large and small groups alike. They dont serve dessert, but there are options in the area.
Very clean and very good. Got galbi (non marinated), jjigae and naengmyun. They were all great.
This place has a unique menu and feel for the neighborhood. The drinks list is solid, and the interior provides spacious options for small to large groups. The outdoor dining offers private rooms for groups. All the classic Korean bbq dishes are here, but with little twists that make them exciting. The quality and freshness is top notch. One star is missing because both the service and the banchan are good, but not stellar. Still, its a solid bet for a pleasurable dining experience.
Delicious and fun experience for a Korean barbecue. The service was very friendly and they were patient with us helping us choose the items on the menu. The barbecue is prepared by the servers there and you can ask them how you want your meat cooked.
Decent waitstaff, not bad prices, food was high quality but didnt have much flavor though. I loved the beef but I wish they had more sauces or seasonings (or asked if we wanted salt added to the meat). I never liked the sides that come out before the meat but thats across the board for me at Korean places. I think there are better places for Korean BBQ than this. Also, not a fan of the seating.
Got the bulgogi bibimbap delivered. Came with spinach, bean sprouts, radish kimchi, and Napa kimchi. And I added a fried egg. The gochujang sauce was sooooo good. Really good tasting and big portion. The packaging is really sturdy so you have to stab then tear the film to open it.
Awesome food, with reasonable prices. They are very kid friendly. I needed to use my chopsticks with that piece attached because I cant use em otherwise and my server helped with no problem, actually my 6 year old told him that I needed them, lol, but he was happy to help even when he thought it was for her. The fried shumai was awesome, in English, its shrimp fried dumplings. Im planning on going back very soon and bringing more people with me because good food paired with good company is the best way to dine.
The food quality is amazing! All Servers look so nice and their service is fantastic! I love Dons! One of best K restaurants!!!
The staff was courteous and very helpful. Every component of the food was fresh and you can notice the good quality in the meat and the vegetables. Went with my wife and ate the marinated bbq for two people and it was a unique and good experience, the selection of wine and beer is okay. The place looks clean and organized.
Quality tasty meats. Pricey for $55 a plate. Tofu seafood stew was very good Pancake was a bit too doughy. Banchan was very minimal and disappointing. Service is good but nothing was explained. Had different sauces on the table but didnt know what goes with what. Very busy and loud. Huge liquor menu with many options
I came to Dons Bogam on whim one evening and decided to wait because the front of house hostess was so nice so I waited to be seated. I was apprehensive because Ive never had Korean BBQ before and it was for a special occasion, but I went with it and I must say that I am very glad that I did. Our server Aaron was amazing, he was worth the wait. Aarons service along with his co workers was amazing, and proactive. He was personable, considerate and kind, he had great recommendations. We had an wonderful experience at this establishment and will be returning with larger groups. We felt so welcomed theres no other words besides Thank you Aaron, great job, and a round of applause to the entire staff here.
I must say absolutely scrumptiousAnd it was lovely seeing the fire dance so elegant 😊 a must try for every New Yorker
First time eating at this Korean bbq and it was not disappointing at all. Great hospitality, quality food. The decor is modern and it definitely sets the mood. Great for group gatherings and loved how their music wasn’t loud, etc. will definitely be back.
This is one of my favorite Korean Restaurant, I love galbi, vegetable japchae, here.sever is very kind and nice!
The staff were absolutely lovely. The food was delicious &very well priced.
Great quality meats (tried their marinated ones) and a good amount of sides that they continually refill. The service was professional and they did a good job with the grilling. Overall, the only complaint Id have is that they didnt have any of the house sojus except for the citrus one. But it was just a minor thing. Other than that it was a great dinner!
1st visit to NYC and tried Dons. Awesome atmosphere and service. We had a pinot grigio and a dry sake - very good.
Had a fantastic meal at Dons Bogam. The quality of the meat was exceptional—tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was inviting, perfect for a hearty meal with friends or family. Highly recommend!!!!!!!
Pretty good Korean bbq in ktown, came here for a vendor lunch and the food was really yummy. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a good spot to go for Korean food. I’d come back next time to try their lunch specials. Japchae was so good. Bulgogi rice cake was decent too. On the pricier side so better for special occasions.
Food, staff, cleanliness, and atmosphere were all excellent (above and beyond!). Will be returning on our next visit!
My friend and I came here because they take reservations, which several restaurants in K-Town, do not and it was a very busy Thursday night when we were out. The restaurant was able to accommodate our reservation without any long delays and they do check your temperature before your entry. As stated in the description- it is on the pricier end but the food, drinks and atmosphere was worth it. Our waiter was also very attentive - definitely would go back.
Upscale Korean BBQ / Wine Bar in the Ktown district. The good:- Excellent quality of meats, specifically the short ribs.- upscale wine bar ambiance- attentive service- they have a section of japanese style seating, where you can sit cross legged at the table- they also have a cold noodle selection, I have included a picture, great dish for summerThe Bad:- Pricy; but its to be expected for Manhattan and the wine bar upscale
Went here for a company outing and we were greeted warmly & made served promptly. A few months later I returned with my family and they made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. It seems they only care about your table if you are a group spending $2,000+ on dinner. Not a fan of this place and will not be returning.Do not bother going, there are many places more worthy of your service.
UPDATE: delicious and great service.Best and most reliable KBBQ place I go to in the NYC area. Have a friend that wants to eat KBBQ? This is the place to go. Have a sudden craving for KBBQ? This is the place to go. Their upper level seating is a major part of why I enjoy my many experiences there with my friends and families. Their menu is extensive and the combos are the best way to avoid taking too long to make a decision. Their seafood scallion pancakes are a must. Definitely order the cold noodles and the chicken with ginseng soup.
Very good, authentic Korean food! You will not be disappointed for quality either.
Really fantastic food and service. Delicious pajeon, banchan, japchae, and pork belly.
One of the best restaurant experiences Ive had. The staff was very accommodating about my celiac disease and was more than willing to adjust the ingredients and cooking surfaces to ensure no gluten contamination. The atmosphere was very professional yet very relaxed. A great mix of Korean and American tradition for a good dining experience.
Not the same as 6-7 years ago, but still good taste. Here is less crowded to compare with Mid of other K-town BBQ places.
#CeliacReviews: Though DB is not dedicated gluten-free, they do have 5-10 celiac-friendly a la carte options in addition to Korean BBQ (marked on menu, but do your due diligence). It’s been tough not eating Korean as a celiac, and this was a huge relief.I called ahead and the knowledgeable server explained japchae (one of my favorites) is a safe choice. I also got a mushroom bibimbap. Both were delicious.Once there, I explained my needs to the waitress and although she did not immediately recognize the term celiac, she understood the need to keep things strictly gluten-free and consistently advised and reassured me afterwards (ex. avoid the flavored soju, here is GF soy sauce). I could eat 4/6 of the banchan (small gratis appetizers for the table), including kimchi! ❤️ Tip for the restaurant: Please ensure servers recognize the term celiac!Overall I felt in good hands and that the staff took my concerns seriously. I did not get glutened as I have other places that swore up and down they knew what to do. Be sure to let them know you have a gluten allergy and they will take good care of you.
This is definitely a great place to experience Korean BBQ. The ambiance is lovely and conducive to moderate sized groups. The food quality is great and the service was what you would expect from a trendy more upscaled restaurant. Everything tasted fresh and the flavors were well balanced.
Delicious Korean BBQ... Sake was amazing
Was definitely a nom nom nom experience.Food is delicious. The scalion pancake 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 don’t remember the name but is amazing 🥰🥰🥰Great experience and nice ambience !
It was my first time at a Korean BBQ place and it was fabulous. Great service, great food! I guess some people may be disappointed if they are expecting to cook the meat by themselves, but for me, it was perfect to have the help of the staff - they showed us how to cook it properly.
Like many of the great K-town restaurants, Dons Bogam offers delicious Korean BBQ and fare. Im high a fan of their seafood pancake and pork belly. The banchan (small plates) are constantly refilled by the servers, who by the way provide stellar service throughout your meal. The ambiance is more modern then your standard restaurants in K-town and is a great place if youre introducing Korean food to someone for the first time. Id come back again!
Dons Bogam is our go to spot for good authentic Korean BBQ. The dishes and experience are always reliable, authentic, and elegant. Dons Bogam never disappoints!
This is one of my favorite kbbq places in the city. Some of the meat can be a little expensive but its worth it.
One of the best places in the city. Quick and efficient service. The best Korean cuisine you’ll ever try!
Pricy but delicious, especially the better beef platter. kimchi was alright. Very hands-on waiter service. Cool low tables.Update: they only refilled our water once so most of us were left quite thirsty. We also have to ask them numerous times to refill plates lettuce sauces and napkins.
Server cooked for us. I prefer to cook it ourselves. Thats why we come to K bbq
A friend of mine who is a regular (hopefully not anymore) recommended me this place for kbbq.don’t get me wrong it was nice, didn’t have a reservation, staff in the front of the house were very nice to explain what they had to offer and got us a nice table with the grill top. However one thing that ruined the night was racists..that’s all I have to say… I felt extremely uncomfortable having to hear a man on the heavier side saying a lot of racist remarks towards his peers and others. Not sure what’s worse, him having such prejudice against Hispanic people or other nationalities… Does he know that some people know more than one language and that they can probably understand what he’s saying? I wouldn’t be surprised if they say awful things about their customers in Korean while serving them.
Live the full Korean experience in this great restaurant and wine bar. All the food is prepared in front of you, and everything tastes delicious.
Visited for lunch on Thursday. They have a really nice lunch special menus and the price was very reasonable. Food was great as well.
A very fine Korean BBQ restaurant. The meat is tender and especially the marinated ones are amazing! The servers know many things and can give you recommendations on which one to get. There are two seating areas for BBQ only and regular korean food. Once the meat comes out, the server will cook them for you and will let you know when it is ready. It is pricey but the quality of food confirms it. By the end of the meal, you will be glad you came to this restaurant!
We wont be returning to the restaurant again unfortunately. We usually do not write a negative review because we know it is very hard to run a restaurant. However, we wanted to let the restaurant know what we experienced. We were entertaining our guests from Japanese company tonight. We have ordered a few bottles of wines and dishes of food. However, we were completely ignored all thought the night. It took us an hour to get a glass of ice water. To make the night worse, one of the waitress/ host told one of our friends to move over to make a room for the next guest very rudely. We felt like we were getting attacked. Only person who made the night better was this one waiter who actually took his time to apologize to us for the lack of service. We understand that its hard to run a restaurant but we wont be returning to the restaurant ever again to spend another 300 or 400 bucks without a glass of water.
Nice place, food is delicious. But bulgogi is not very traditional and served with noodles. Our server was good, but not very helpful with recommendations.
I feel like I got a large dose of carbon monoxide sitting right in front of the table stove. I literally almost passed out at the table. Also they forgot people in my parties drinks and a few apps. The food that did come was good though.
Great tasteUnparalleled excellence in serviceStrongly recommends~~
Its kinda of a hit and miss here. Im sure another visit will improve this rating but at the time I visited from Jersey specifically to get the table top BBQ and it wasnt available. Its a bit noisy but I was near the bar. The food was great. A little bit crammed with spacing. I plan to go back and try again and Id recommended it.
Great food with friendly staff. Decor could use some updating, but our table was comfortable. Staff seemed a little disorganized, but the wonderful parade of barbeque more than made up for it.
The meat was some of the best I’ve had but for what you’re paying they could afford to go a little heavier on the side dishes and refill the kimchee at least. This was the first kbbq place I’ve ever been to that didn’t do that. The service was really good though and the restaurant is nice!
The grilled meat is some of the best in ktown. Im never disappointed with the food here. The service is decent too for how chaotic the atmosphere feels due to the crowds of ppl. I do wish there was more space between the tables. But it feels very family-oriented and family-friendly.
Lunch is good, but dinner is better
Delicious Korean bbq
Food and drinks are amazing! Portion sizes are big. What they say is an American Kobe platter for 2 people could be for 3 people. Drinks were great and very friendly service!!
Amazing meat, glass noodles and pancakes were to die for! Highly recommend.
Price is definitely higher but food quality and service were on point. We enjoy the beef tongue and steak and wagyu, the portions were quite large. I love the steamed egg too. Ordered soondubu and bibimbap too, I’d say they were overall good however didn’t stand out. Recommend to just stick with the meat!
Service is amazing. The food is impeccable.
Couple of thingsLovely servers very sweet!Good food.Bar special is lacking in terms of anything special or unique cocktails especially for 18 dollars and over. Would be great if they had something different or any happy hour.
I must put my review in context and state that I was raised on Seoul Garden in Houston where Korean BBQ means the meats come well seasoned and you cook everything yourself.I didnt think the BBQ here was particularly flavorful in a juicy, saucy way. The kimchi soup and pancake were good though. The restaurant is really nice, modern and clean and the seating is different than the kind of seating youd find in traditional restaurants.Overall, I felt like it was too pricy for what you get and I wont be returning.
A pretty decent place to eat with friends or colleagues, locating at 32th st near 5th Avenue. The vibes is cozy and the price is reasonable. Have variety of dishes or beefs can be choose. The downsides are the table is not easy to seat in and the food servcing is a bit rush .
Food & atmosphere was good, service was definitely below average for a more upscale Korean BBQ restaurant making this an avg of 3/5 stars. What was weird was the waiter running out to chase us asking why we tipped lower than the recommended. The answer was - poor service and we detailed to the waiter what specifically was poor.Pros- Portion for beef tongue + brisket was good.- Easy to make reservation.- Nice ambiance.Cons- Kimchi was super sour and overripe. Not well seasoned at all.- Banchan was mediocre.- Literally only a single sink for everyone to wash your hands in the entire restaurant.- Seafood pancake was undercooked on the inside.- Asked for the check 3 times over the span of 15 mins, did not get it and had to get by flagging them down.
Had the 5 cuts of meat which was enough for 3 of us women. Food and sauces were delicious! It is a little difficult to get in and out of seating, so for those unable to climb down into a seat (of if youre wearing a short dress) you would probably not be able to sit at the BBQ tables.
Hands down best Korean bbq you can get in Ktown. We shared a platter for two - marinated beef. It came with three flavors and we loved it. The meats were very savory and tender. Also I love the decor and the seats for BBQ tables - very traditional and classy.
Very high end quality barbecue experience. Nice bar at the front for waiting and socializing.
Favorite Korean restaurant on 32nd St because it combines excellent food with great service and a comfortable atmosphere. Not too casual like some of the other Korean places that remind me of cafeterias or fast casual joints. Lunch specials during the week are great value.
Delicious Korean bbq!
Very good food. It is best to come as a group and have the traditional BBQ. It can be a bit pricey so do not go overboard with how much you order initially. For BBQ in a group you will be seated on the floor chair. It is cool. Best to book a table, especially in the weekends. Enjoy.
A bit fancier than most of the other Korean BBQ places around K-town, but equally as delicious. To start off, they are very generous with the banchan (small plates of appetizers that are complimentary in Korean restaurants). I think we got around 8 different varieties. Service was also good and the portions are decent. If you are seated at a table without a grill, you can still get barbecue, but they will cook it in the kitchen and serve it on a hot castiron plate instead - not as fun in my opinion, but some people may prefer it that way. The bibimbaps are also decent, though I would stick to the grill if I come here.
Nice, upscale korean bbq restaurant. While the food is very good, portions are small considering the prices. Highly recommend the steak tartare with pear, normal naengmyun (not spicy), and the spicy galbi and the pork belly bbq. Service could use some help though - our servers were not very friendly and somewhat brusk.
Have been going here for years. Been over 15 times. The food is always incredible.BUT, for the past couple of years the service has been atrocious. Truly bad. Please figure it out because soon enough loyal patrons will go elsewhere.
I did not have their bbq but decided to order other menus. I had their kimchi mandoo jeongol (casserole), ddukbokki, japchae, beers, and makgeolli which were all good. The jeongol broth was a little light and watery at first but got better as we boiled it a little longer; the ddukbokki was great--spicy and sweet; and their japchae was nothing on grandmas but had a large variety of veggies thrown in. All in all, a solid meal was had for a solid price, but nothing stood out as amazing. Id definitely go again for a good-tasting, good-service meal!
I like their 잡채, it was just made, and filling. Also ordered outside skirt, spicy prime, and seafood soon tofu stew. Outside skirt was more what I wanted compared to spicy prime. I recommend seafood tofu stew👍.
No round table. We have group of 12 people and had to be split up 8/4 for bbq table. Food was just okay. Meat was tender and service was OK. We went there during Easter Sunday and place was short of staff. No bartender! We had to wait until mid course before we all got our drinks.
The service is very slow. Our waiter was not accommodating to refilling our side dishes for our bbq. Very slow service and expensive for the services and quality of meats that we got. One of the other gentlemen was very friendly but unfortunately he was not our waiter. We love wrapping our bbq meat with lettuce. Average pp would be $100 without drinks yet. Dinner was not worth it maybe lunch would be. For $500 meal we can expect better elsewhere.
You throw a rock and hit 5 different Korean BBQ places standing on 32nd in K-town, but somehow we ended up here. The service was very good - attentive & friendly. The banchan was just OK compared to other Korean restaurants. There wasnt as much selection (maybe 4 types) & definitely not as tasty. My favorite (kimchi pickles) were no where to be found. The meats were great, albeit pricey. We tried a few platters and my favorite was the prime beef (of course); really tender & full of marbled fat. They also have the marinated pieces that youd be used to at KBBQ.Overall, I dont think Id return because, while the quality was great, I just cant justify the price. This is probably because Im used to AYCE KBBQ at places like Picnic Garden in NJ. But know that the BBQ meats are top quality!
Ive come here twice so far and have yet to be even remotely disappointed - the food is one the freshest and most delicious that Ive had and come across in NYC. As it relates to Korean bbq, this place is a cut above the rest that Ive experienced thus far, albeit somewhat pricey, it is most definitely worth it. The service is prompt and courteous - my cup was never empty. My friends and I ordered: seafood scallion pancakes (pretty standard but tastey), green tea cold noodle soup (something unique, a bit of a chewy consistency but very tasty - definitely worth trying - its a traditional summertime Korean snack, or so Im told), 2 beef bbq platters - 1 was 5 meat variety, and the other was a non marinated prime beef (the meat just melts in your mouth).
What a place for great Korean BBQ! Their meat is really high quality and the service is so nice as well. Even the sides are really tasty. You make the best lettuce wraps here:)
I came to get some Korean BBQ and what I got blew away my expectations. The food was tasty of course and very filling. On top of that the service was great too; very friendly staff.
Fancier Kbbq spot. Good service, quality meats!
We came here for a big family get together. Prompt service. Delicious food. Will come again
Love this place, very comfortable seats. Pretty good food
We waited for 45 mins for our main dish, waiters are not even checking on us, when we followed up they said another 20 mins?!?! The appetizers that we got to start was very bland, like you’re better off buying an instant kimchee in H mart.
It is an authentic Korean restaurant. Second time and extraordinary service always. I had the beef bibimbap and vermicelli which both were fantastic. Just those two dishes were more than enough. But of course could not miss having a bit of Soju
Wonderful! Food and service was excellent. Ordered a dinner for two that had 5 different meats. The numerous side dishes were as much as you can eat. Nice selection of drinks.
On a recent trip to K-Town, I decided to check out Don Bogam rather than go to one of the usual spots we hit up. We were dining with a couple of people who rarely venture out for Korean BBQ and had heard some pretty good things about the place. The look and feel of the restaurant is definitely a step above some of the BBQ joints nearby. When combined with the prices on the menu, my expectations were a bit higher than they probably should have been.Dont get me wrong, our dining experience was not terrible. But every dish seemed to have some flaw and there were constant little misses in terms of attention to detail. We started off with two variations of the Pa Jun (Korean Pancakes): One with wild sesame seeds and chives and another more standard version with scallions and green peppers. The sesame seed version felt a little flat taste-wise and both were a little thicker than I normally prefer (some at our table actually liked that better) which made the pancake doughier. For our main dishes we all split two orders of the Dak Bulgogi (marinated beef) and one order of of the chicken version. Now, bulgogi is one of the reasons I love Korean BBQ so much. Some of my fondest childhood food memories are of grilling bulgogi tableside with my parents. And it might be those same memories that made it difficult to enjoy the rest of the meal.Traditionally, the cooking technique used to cook bulgogi is more akin to grilling where the meat is placed onto a griddle with open spots where the fire can directly cook the meat. Now this is an important point because that direct-heat grilling allows the meat to develop personality and gain all of those nice charry bits of flavor when the marinade infuses itself directly onto the meat. At Don Bogam, the meat was in a bowl with the marinade, rice noodles, and vegetables and placed on top of a heating plate which essentially gave us boiled meat. Flavor-wise it was just OK but what really shocked me was that the broth used with the chicken was WAY more flavorful than the beef one. Ive had both chicken and beef at numerous Korean BBQ restaurants and have never found this to be the case. Odd. My last issue with the meal was that the rice served was badly undercooked. Everyone at our table took issue with it.On the whole, even if I factor in that my expectations may be different than others, Don Bogam was just...well....fine. But when you also add in that their prices are pretty high for Korean BBQ in the area, you could do much better elsewhere.
Bad service and there was a hair in the tofu stew.
Why have I never been here before?!? Im alwaaayyyss scrambling within koreatown just to get a table at Wonjo or Five Senses for them to tell me that the wait time is 1hour for dinner. No way! When I crave Korean BBQ, I want it Immediately! Friday night, as my boyfriend and I put our name down for one of the Korean BBQ restaurant to realize our wait time will be 1 hour, we decided to leave since we were ridiculously starving! As we were passing by this place, my boyfriend was like Hey lets go here... Ive been and its really good. They do Korean BBQ also. So we did and boyyyyy am I glad we did! Beautiful decor, great selection of meats (it is on the pricey side though) but the service and the comfort level makes up for it. I honestly cant wait to go back to have a proper bbq.
I dont like rare meat, so this may be a personal view; however the meat was not cooking very well on the tabletop BBQ. I finally got them to leave the meat on the BBQ for a while and they did not come back to serve it on the plate, so I had to struggle to get it myself. Thankful for the opportunity to have eaten here; however personally I would not go here again, since it is incredulously expensive.
Best Korean BBQ in NYC.
I eat here often and it’s my favorite! I have most of my birthday dinners here. Food is fantastic, atmosphere is fun, staff is super friendly and helpful. I always leave full and happy!! Thank you for a great experience every time!!!
Amazing quality meats and great service.
Went to Dons Bogam on Sunday with my family and we had a tremendous experience. The restaurant is immaculate, and the service and food was excellwnt! It was only our 2nd time enjoying Korean BBQ so we needed some assistance on what to order and how to eat the items with all of the sides and our server was extremely helpful. You definitely wont be disappointed!
A great place to visit for Korean cuisine. Small and large groups are comfortable seated here. Prices are reasonable as well as selection. Staff is courteous and attentive to requests.
Great food and service.
They have the best well marinated korean bbq meat.
The service was excellent. The meat was so tender and experience was unforgettable!
This is the best Korean restaurant in the Big Apple! The kimchi was extremely fresh, the ban chan was delicious and plentiful, and the BBQ was melt-in-your mouth good! I know its sacrilege for a West Coaster to say that NYC Korean food can hold a candle to LAs, but I gotta say that this place does and then some!
Very expensive and the pork belly meat is low quality for the price you pay, but it was a good service by the way.
Fun Korean BBQ experience. We ordered some meats (the spicy one was my favourite). Go with a group so that you can share different things.
The food and service were okay. One nice thing is that they will take away tableware packages from the table.
We were pretty impressed with this place, although on the pricey side (especially for beer, although we are from London so might be out of touch with NY prices). The kimichi pancake was delicious as was the bulgogi and rice cakes. Could has eaten another round of that easily! The beef was all of a good quality too and cooked perfectly on the BBQ. Having been to Seoul this place was a pretty decent version so would recommend!
Walked into this place because of the lesser wait time compared to its neighbors in K Town. Decor is OK , not impressive. I’ve had better Kimchi pancake. We enjoyed the Bulgogi, loved the chicken salad and appreciated the attentive service.
One of the best Korean BBQin the city
One of the best Korean BBQ Ive had the Mushrooms were to die for. The wine selection was excellent. If youre in Korea town or just in NYC in general take the time to dine at this gem.
Reliable as an old friend. I can always count on Dons for good times, good laugh and most importantly, excellent samgyupsal. That said, please get rid of the Dyson hand washer and dryer. Its just a bad and messy design... I havent seen anyone using it properly.
I purchased a 750 mL lychee infused soju off the menu but received a 500 mL bottle. I complained to the waitress and she insisted it was 750 mL. It was not.
Good food, worst seating. You have to climb in and out of your table.
I lived in South Korea for a year and have been on the search for authentic Korean bbq since. This place truly delivers! The Gabi short ribs were delectable. The service staff was quick. Especially the bartender, he was quite busy but never too busy not to notice our glass was nearing the end. Great place!
