Corkbuzz is a fantastic spot for wine enthusiasts! Their weekly rotating blind flights are perfect for anyone studying or who enjoys blind tasting. The staff is super helpful, and both the food and wine options are excellent. Plus, their champagne bottles are priced surprisingly reasonably. Highly recommend stopping by for a blind tasting or some bubbles!
The cacio e pepe was incredible (pictured). Perfect little spot to get a glass of wine and a meal alone or with friends! I personally sat at the bar and read my book and it was lovely.
This is a great spot to try a diverse range of wines. The staff is knowledgeable about their menu offerings. They have wine flights, by the glass and bottles - so something for everyone! They have a happy hour menu - try the truffle popcorn, you won’t regret it!Drawbacks are that it’s a bit dark and doesn’t have a lot of windows or any outdoor seating.
Bunch of natural and organic wines. Bartender let us taste before ordering. Most 12-20$ per glass. Champagne only by bottle
Great wine bar in the Union Square area. If you are looking for a place with lots of good wine to try and some bites to match, this is the place. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who know a thing or two about wine that can help with recommendations.
If I were to ever describe the perfect wine bar, this place would be that. Also highly recommend their location in Chelsea Market. The selections are so well curated and the flights they have on offer are perfect categorical representations.
Such a great experience. Amazing service, great food and wine. The server even walked two blocks to catch me and return my credit card when I forgot it in the restaurant. 10/10
Lovely place to visit with friends or a date night. The decor is warm and cozy. The staff is friendly, even gave my pup some water. Many selections of wines from different regions, my personal favorite being the skin contact. Cheeseboard and desert were quite scrumptious!!
We had my bridal shower here. My maid of honor picked it out. We had the restaurant to ourselves before it opened to the general public for brunch. We only have 19 people, minimal booking is 20. All you can drink mimosas, Bellini, and Bloody Mary. Appetizers were good, entrees were decent, dessert was good.Food 4 starsDrink 5 starsServices 5 starsSpace 5 stars
A must do whenever in NY. Last time we went to the Chelsea Market location - smaller space - same great experience. This time we went to the original on E13th. We tried SOMM / Like a Boss flight. Also the Oregon and Mixed Tape flight. And took a turn at the blind tasting. The problem is you just won’t want to leave! Oh and got in a little wine reading.
Great spot with good vibes and phenomenal wine. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and the classes are very interesting. Hope to be back soon!
Recommend highly! Our school had an alumni holiday reception in early December. The food was delicious and the wine was superb. It has such an inviting atmosphere and ambiance, and a convenient location, too. Sarah, our host, and Vincent, our server, went above and beyond all night long to give us special attention and outstanding service. Our guests were so happy. Their prices are extremely reasonable. We will definitely come back and book our next event here. What a great night! (p.s. - I stayed afterwards to have dinner with a friend. That was outstanding, too!)
Extensive list of grower champagnes at retail prices - for me, this is reason enough to come to CorkBuzz, but it’s really just a great, laidback, unpretentious wine bar. For starters, their wine list is varied, interesting, peppered with the unusual, and with more than a few hidden gems. I think it appeals more to wine nerds than to oenophiles though. What excites you more on a wine list - verticals of Dom Perignon or a bottle of Marie-Nöelle Ledru? If you are the latter, then, CorkBuzz is probably a place you want to visit. Or you can be just a neophyte who wants to learn more about wine beyond the mainstream brands and varietals. One really fun thing to do at CorkBuzz is to try their wine flights that vary from the blind tasting (NZ sauvignon blanc, Argentinian torrontes, and Austrian grüner veltliner when we were there) to the sommelier’s choice (Austrian wines when we were there), to local wines and so on. It’s a relatively affordable (~$25) way to try a variety of wines from around the world. It’s always tough for me to decide between drinking a bottle of grower champagne and trying flights. The food menu is an eclectic mix of dishes that will pretty much go with a wide variety of wines. When I was there, they were running a special of the oddly named Mermaid Makeout oysters from the Peconic Bay on the half shell with mignonette sauce and cocktail sauce. They were small, briny and really refreshing after a day walking around hot and humid NYC. Their charcuterie plates are also pretty good, but just as a warning, don’t expect large portions as they use high-end cheeses and meats. For example, one of the cheeses on their cheese plate, Montgomery’s Cheddar, retails for $45 / lb at Murray’s Cheese. There are three choices for seating - the bar, high-top tables, or a communal table. Just as a warning, the high-tops are relatively small, so if you do the tastings and order food, you will probably run out of space and be uncomfortable. The decor is simple and classy with lots of light-colored wood. When we were there, the clientele sitting down were mostly groups of women or couples on dates, but the livelier bar area was crowded with all sorts of people. The staff is friendly and professional, but their respective knowledge of wine varies greatly from a person relatively new to the wine business to Master Sommelier (owner Laura Maniec), so it really runs the gamut. They have another outpost at the Chelsea Market, but I find that market to be an overcrowded tourist hellscape, so I’ve never been to the CorkBuzz in that location. This one is less touristy, but very close to Union Square, so it’s easily accessible from most places in Manhattan.
Corkbuzz is one of my favorite places to go to for a good time. The team there is unbelievable with unparalleled attention to detail. They have an exquisite wine list with a rotating menu of cocktails and food. Their food is very high quality and I cannot recommend this place enough.
Absolutely delightful. Spacious but intimate, elegant but not excessively bougie. The wine selection by the glass was superb and our server Sarah provided perfect recommendations. Some truly special and unique wines. For food, we tried two light (popcorn, deviled eggs) and two medium (meatballs, baby leeks), and all were nice portions for 2 and incredibly delicious. We will be back.
Great wine spot for an intimate atmosphere! The staff is very knowledgeable and provided us great recommendations. They have an extensive wine list from all around the world. If you don’t know what to drink, their wine tasting will do it. We also tried their burger which was delicious! I would definitely come back.
Came here before in the past and enjoyed it unfortanently this time around wasnt that great. Wines were probably the only good thing thia night.Chacuterie board was decent the coppa was good where are the other salumi tasted very artificial and generic. The cheeses were good expect for the pecorino that was basically all rind 3 out of 5 pieces to be exact... Not fun to bite into a chunk of wax during dinner. The gravlax was tastless, burata and eggplant french fries also tastless meatballs were decent have had better but they werent bad. I hope I can revisit with a different experience but unfortanently that was my night.
Great champagne at retail prices, knowledgeable staff, and surprisingly good food. The wine flights are a fun way to try out new flavors. Definitely worth a visit!
Truly a buzzy spot in the Union Square area! Darren served us when I brought in quite a large walk in group and was spot on with his wine pairing recommendations, service organization and checking in at just the right times (because of courses we wanted the cheese and port after we finished entrees).Every single cheese we had deserves its own paragraph of praise, and they were terrific to try alongside the somm’s trio. I can’t wait to bring more friends here to wine and dine
Highly recommend this place for wine lovers. They have big long tables at the back, where they host wine classes, which are good for groups. A good selection of wine (and beer, cocktail, liquor), by glasses and by bottle. Staff are knowledgeable about the wine and very friendly.Food items are very wine pairing friendly. I personally found their small plates more interesting than entrees.I hosted a birthday dinner here, attended a few classes, and countless blind tastings, always very positive experience. Highly recommend! They have a champagne campaign: 50% off for all bottled champagnes after 9pm every night and all day Sunday. Should definitely take advantage of that!
Enjoyed catching up with a friend, arrived by 430p, shortly there after, it was busy. The wine flight tasting was fun. I would go back for other tastings and classes.
Such a wonderful experience with Corkbuzz! We made a bridal shower for my future daughter in law this past weekend, and it could not have been better. Leading up to the event, Laura was informative, flexible and very responsive to work with, as was the manager, Preston. It was great to have the entire place to ourselves, and the food, drinks and the service were fantastic! The day of the party, there was Ryan, and another coordinator/server who made everything run perfectly smooth, we couldnt have asked for more! Highly recommend!
Big fan of this place. Mostly due to the pricing for bottles of champagne at retail price.
One of the worst bar experiences Ive had in nyc. At least 4 staff asked our group of 4 to move to a table. I suppose they want to keep the half empty bar clear for couples, but to what end? One young staff proceeded to tell me how much better a table is for conversing for 4 people than lateral seating at a bar. Maybe so, but after 30+years of drinking, I think we would know best where we would be most comfortable.Good luck to them, but i look forward to visiting the next bar in this space.
Very accommodating for two people with an hour before our reservation elsewhere. Normally wed sit at the bar but with that area full, the host gladly seated us in the dining room - not a shred of worry. Our waiter knew her wines, and the by-the-glass list (most under $20, with a few stellar choices higher than that) was stocked with a number of uncommon varietals - among others, Pelaverga, Donzhelino, Cinsaut (a favorite) as a rose - she was happy to discuss before pouring. Though we did not partake, the dinner menu looks amazing - and reasonable - and we will return for the full experience soon.
This place is so fun! And the interior is awesome! The only thing that let me down was the ordering experience. This is a wine bar so in my opinion, the bartender should be able to recommend certain flavors for your preferred pallet. We verbalized to the bar tender that night that we want to order flights to try new ones out, but we were hesitant since we didn’t recognize the names. Instead of verbally giving us an idea of the flavors and essences of each flight, he pressured us to order one and then told us maybe one or two things about the wines... my flight was horrible. He didn’t hear me when I said I like floral and fruity flavors... NOT earthy. Other than my annoyance with that, the music was great and the selection was wide! Would be back... but would do my own research first to avoid another dissatisfying flight.
A great wine bar inside Chelsea Market, very extensive wine list, skewed European, they have some very interesting orange wines. A perfect place to catchup with a friend or for a date. Casual vibe but with classy undertones.French fries were so so good, much better than expected in the wine bar. And burratta was very fresh and delicious. There is 4-6pm happy hour and wine tasting flights for good price. I want to try it next time.
Dinner, wine and good company is always good, but Corkbuzz makes it an experience. Their wine list is top notch which is more than expected given the founder. The cacio e pepe is to die for and the homemade ricotta is an absolute must. The chicken schnitzel was amazing with its mustard aioli. Will definitely be returning with friends
Beautiful wines, fantastic charcuterie, and a great atmosphere await you at CorkBuzz. The home-made ricotta is nothing short of extraordinary - I recommend adding it to whatever other charcuterie or meal you may be getting! They also have some fun blind and sommeliers choice flights in addition to more traditional flights. A great spot for a romantic evening or a fun afternoon with friends, this wine bar is a treat!
Great wine and really knowledgeable staff. It can be hard to find seating on a Friday, even at the bar, so reserve if its a high demand day. Make sure to try one of the flights - I loved the oranges, which I had never had before, but theyre all themed and great.
I recommend this place for wine lovers. They have a good selection of wine. We especially enjoyed the wine tasting menu. The staff is knowledgeable about the wine and very friendly. All recommended wines were very high quality and pleasant to the taste. We like one wine Ancarani more than the rest. Will definitely come back)
My bestie and I visited Corkbuzz after a Saturday night dinner as a place to have a few drinks and park ourselves for the evening. We wanted something fun but classy, and Corkbuzz delivered! We had SO MUCH FUN! They had great late night music playing, and it wasnt terribly busy for late on a Saturday night. Dorian was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and had great recommendations. Sean was also so gracious and friendly! I will definitely be returning! Highly recommend if youre looking for a classy wine bar with an excellent selection and knowledgeable staff!
My favorite wine bar in the Union Square area. They have a huge selection of things theyll pour you by the glass, and if you put yourselves in the staffs hands they will definitely treat you right. Ive been lavished with some wonderful glasses here by people who really knew how to listen closely and fulfill my wildest wine dreams.
Corkbuzz is far more than a restaurant and wine bar, its a wonderful community for lovers of both wine and food. While quarantined, being able to take the virtual wine classes through Corkbuzz was absolutely amazing. At the time, I had been living over an hour and half from the nearest (wine) tasting groups in Boston, so being able to taste and interact with people who share the same passion for wine was and is awesome! Having bottles shipped to me blind, as part of one of the virtual classes, has also been immensely helpful in my studies for the Certified Sommelier exam. Not to mention, all the wines in the shipment were delicious. So grateful to learn from such knowledgable team and I cant wait to visit when Corkbuzz able to fully reopen.
Searched high (uptown/midtown) and low-ish (flatiron) for a spot that offered wine flights. Two places I stopped into said they used to offer them before I finally arrived at Corkbuzz right when they opened. Not only do they offer a red and a white flight, but they are BLIND flights, which is perfect for someone studying for their entry Somm exam. Loved the atmosphere, the house made ricotta, and the staffs vast knowledge of wine. Will definitely be back!
The Beaujolais flight was disappointing. It was very busy on a Friday night. The prices were high (although thats to be expected when ordering wine by the glass). That being said I liked the decor, and the communal table was fun for a quick drink.
Laura does an exemplary job of maintaining a wonderful atmosphere and a challenging wine list. I can always find something good no matter my taste. Try the food also! The chef is great and the pairing options are endless.
The food is aways excellent as is the wine list. One if my favorite things about Corkbuzz is that the servers are passionate about wine and love to talk about it with you. We dont get here enough. Shout outs to Amber and Dorian
Great BTG list. Nice champagne list. Unsure whether they still have retail price champagne promotion. Decent food.Don’t order any fish crudo, as the one I had a few months ago wasn’t fresh. The food I ordered 2 weeks ago (beef tartare, salads etc) were good. The staffs are knowledgeable and friendly.
The wine and service was great; however, unfortunately the burger and duck was very poorly made/ seasoned. I had to add ketchup to the duck to work around the horrible bland taste it had. The burger was also a bit burnt and had an old taste to it. Maybe the other choices would have been better, however I will not be returning here again. I would recommend looking for other places around the area.
I am a local and have been to both locations numerous times. Wine and food is terrific at both. Service at Chelsea Market is fair to good, while the 13th street location is abominable. By that I mean they go out of their way to behave rudely and entitled. No specific incident, just regular experience and observation. Tonight I spent more than $150 on two people at 5:30 pm and was inevitably sneered at.
Corkbuzz is the epitome of what I love most about dining out. It creates a cozy yet modern atmosphere, excellent food, a generous selections of wine, paired with wonderful service. Everyone in the restaurant is very knowledgeable about the food and wine served. I love shared style plates which allows me to order 5-6 different items to try - they are all out of this world delicious.
Absolutely love this wine bar! Classy ambience, super friendly and helpful server, and reasonably priced wine & food. Great place to spend a night out with friends.
Great spot to get together for a group dinner or date night. Good wine and vibes.
Super cozy place to pop in for an afternoon glass and some apps to share. Our bartender was very helpful and suggested we try the fresh ricotta made in house— HANDS DOWN the most delicious cheese I’ve ever had. Will be back for that alone!
Extensive wine list with great options at various price points (including by the glass and flights) - really tasty small plates to pair with too, and cheese from Murrays. HIGHLY recommend the house-made ricotta.
I used to look forward to a glass of wine on a nice Saturday afternoon at Corkbuzz. But recently both locations seems to be lacking in service. Not only was I served the wrong flight of wines, the waiter never reappeared to check what I thought of the selection. On another occasion the owner herself did not know the menu and asked another staff member a question which she also didn’t or know. I took to confirming myself on their website the menu. I would recommend patronising another wine bar for better service. There are two I can think of just within walking distance and have great selections of wine.
It was brilliant, the food came quickly and of good quality. The staff were lovely the food was healthy with small treats on the side it was great. I would definitely recommend it to anyone either travelling to New York or just lives there and has never been.
Wonderful ambience and great service. Farm to table seasonal menu is both unique and delicious. The waiter assisted with wine pairing and was very considerate. Top notch!
I had a romantic and intimate date here with my fiancé.I recommend trying the wine tastings. It was great to sample a variety from around the world.Side note, you cannot come here without ordering the house made ricotta! It’s to die for!
Very knowledgeable bartenders with excellent wine selection and great small plates. We found the service a bit chaotic - everyone was doing everything and it was hard to get what we needed - but we would still come back.
Good date spot, especially for pre-movie drinks. The staff has always been really helpful at picking out some fun wines to drink and the food menu, while not huge, has a great variety of things to choose from that have all been tasty
The classes are always superb. The restaurant puts more emphasis on a fun atmosphere and less on star food and wine pairing. Informal and a great spot to relax with friends.
Good wine, but incongruous atmosphere. Picture yourself sipping a decadent glass of wine in a bar with upscale/modern decor, but there is Gwen Stefani music playing in the background and you can see tourists in Chelsea Market through the window.
Ive been taking Corkbuzz classes remotely for the last several weeks on blind tasting and pairing and they have been so helpful. I am a level 1 sommelier through CMS, and Ive just been able to build off of my existing knowledge through the classes. Laura is a great instructor and provides great resources, examples, and exercises to illustrate concepts. Highly recommend!
Great ambience. Excellent wine selections. We tried the sommelier mix but wasnt our favorite. The staff provided great service and was knowledgeable of wines.
Excellent blind wine tasting class with Andrew! So fun to learn more about wines. Highly recommend for a fun date
Excellent wine selection and great pairing with dinner. We hosted a business dinner and it was a great spot for food, discussion, and drinks. Its a lively and louder atmosphere but not too loud for a business dinner.Service was great and the staff explained quite a bit of detail about each wine and gave each individual at the table a recommended pairing with their dinner.Highly recommend.
Great wine selection, tasty food, and very nice staff. A good place to go if you want to try a new wine.
Never have I had a bad experience here. Ever. Great service. Delicious wine, not pretentious in the least. Very cute space, with yummy food to soak up all that good wine you’ll inevitably consume. A must go for people who enjoy the finer things in life.
I was invited to Corkbuzz by Black Girls Dine Too for an impromptu meetup with fellow Instagram followers and wine lovers to celebrate Black History Month. It was a very enjoyable and educational experience. The atmosphere is well-curated and the music is modern and urban (whatever that means). Pairing fine wines, delicious cheeses and charcuterie, and hip hop makes for an interesting experience for younger wine lovers, but, except for our table, there was otherwise no diversity to be seen on a Friday night (my reason for docking half a star). Also, this establishment, while classy, is not upscale, but the prices are on the higher end of the casual dining scale, considering. 6 of us split a $480 bill, but we had our fill of wines and cheese for about 3 hours. Some items were reduced to half off after 9, as well, so that helped alot. Our server, Ryan, was well-educated on our wines and attentive to our needs. He introduced me to a gorgeous 13 year old Reisling from Austria. We had fun and I would definitely consider returning again.
Nice place with basically just huge selection of wine. Food is delicious and doesn’t take too long to prepare. Pleasant atmosphere.
What a great Wine bar! Nice, professional staff who knows their business and a very fine wine list. I especially enjoyed the wine tasting menu. Will definitely go back!
Great space, good for groups. Tapas are tasty with a looooong wine list! Also do great cocktails... Can be custom
My group of friends was treated terribly here. I always leave positive reviews but in this situation, I have to be honest. If youre a group of women, find somewhere else to go.
Love this wine bar and their ricotta appetizer is to die for! Great selection of wines and a very informed and helpful staff.
I unremarkable place worth mediocre wines, terrible service and even more terrible music. I think the only reason it exists are the tourists flooding the Chelsea market to drink a glass and forget this place forever
Great vibe
This place is amazing.. Lore, Bobby, Dorian you three rock and made my New Years Eve amazing. I came alone to Corkbuzz today after a long day at work and the service was impeccable my glass remained full the whole time. Now my shoutout goes to Amber she sold me a bottle of champagne “Les Revenants” Etienne Calsac and I must say.. all the grapes in this wine makes me want to go to France tomorrow. But her knowledge and recommendations really made my experience truly amazing. thank you thank you thank you! I also had the Deviled Eggs.. to balance my buzz lol #YouRockCorkBuzz
We were there for drinks and light bites. Very friendly service and tasty food. A good choice.
The wine selections are excellent and the small bites were delicious. I think the name is unfortunate but don’t let that deter you
Cheese and charcuterie board was okay. Needed a hard cheese to balance. Wine was good but very expensive.
Fantastic wines, great atmosphere. Wonderful place for a date or to catch up with a friend.
Great place to have a small party of 15 to 25 people. good selection of appetizers and entrees and a great selection of wines
Great selection of wine and service on point. We went for the sommelier section and were not disappointed, the wines were from different part of the world (Italy, San Francisco and South Africa) and were really different from each other.
Great ambiance, huge wine selection, but wine flights are just OK. Best is to chat with the somelier and let him curate.
Great wine bar for small bites and drinks. They have a great champagne deal after a certain time
Great wines, great service! The staff was very helpful and really attentive. Loved every minute of it!
Always great, Corkbuzz is a staple and a guarantee to enjoy the service, good variety of wine and fantastic sharing dishes.
Great wine in a lovely setting. They have multiple wine flight options too.
Service was speedy, attentive, and genial. Their wine selections for flights was superb and the atmosphere was so comfortable and intimate yet casual with the high top table experience. Will definitely return again and again.
Excellent spot to have happy hour wines and snacks. we got there early so it wasnt really busy and we could hear each other. I just had the house special white which was delicious and my drinking companion tried a few different wines. We also had the cacio e Pepe popcorn and the hand cut fries with Parmesan. Definitely coming back for more!
Great place to sit at the bar for a bottle of wine and a couple dozen oysters.
Good wine, limited food selection, snacks only.
I recommend the somm flight if you like both whites and reds! If you prefer red or white, the blind flight is a good option. Weve had their cheese and charcuterie boards and their ricotta, which are both good. They have a happy hour for some of the small snacks.
Incredible selection of wines and they serve an amazing lamb dish. Highly recommend.
Great wine bar; try the sommelier’s choice flight. Great to sit at the bar and chat.
Had a lovely time at the bar. Jason was so attentive, simply amazing. Will definitely come back.
Good, the sommeliers choice is nice to try.
Terrrible service, the waitress was rude and unintelligible. She also poured us a very small glass after we asked her to repeat what the special was. Terrible experience.
Great wine selection in a lovely setting. They have multiple wine flight options.
Nice atmosphere. Good wine. Tasty food. Accommodating staff.
Excellent wines, great service. Looking forward to my next visit.
Recently discovered this place. Great ambiance, friendly staff, quick service. Nice collection of drinks and food. Bartender Narek did a great job serving our crew. Would definitely recommend.
Loved the wine flights. Staff was knowledgeable. Gougeres were delightful.
This is a great place for a good glass of wine and small nibbles. Wish they were a bit cheaper though
Delicious pastas, especially when combined with a flight of wine
Great atmosphere, the tables are set perfectly groups. The staff is very knowledgeable. There’s always some new and exciting wine to discover.
Great wine selection and individual attention from a knowledgeable staff
Helpful staff, great food. The blind tasting is super fun.
Great wines by the glass and nice selection of small bites.
This restaurant has stellar service and excellent food
If you are a wine lover this is the place for you. Great service.
Nice place to get drinks with friends! Great place for a date night as well.
I hosted my neices bridal shower at Corkbuzz this past weekend - what a fantastic experience! The venue, staff, service & quality of brunch menu/drinks was excellent. Sarahs guidance & communication during the planning stages was exceptional. She & the staff were completely engaged with our needs on the day of the event, helping us achieve a seamless celebration in a beautiful setting. We highly recommend Corkbuzz for any private event or a night out with friends - a true NY gem.
Vincent took us on a journey through Burgundy with the best wine flight I have ever experienced. He has forgotten more about wine than I’ll ever remember. The food and service are second to none.
Average experience... My friend and I accidentally ended up here while we were in the area. We had wine and bites for a little over $300. The vibe is super chill and contemporary but wine and food were pretty middle of the road, very unexciting.
Excellent wine classes!!
I took my mom here recently and was amazed by the wine experience. They have so many d different wines to try by glass and bottle , and they offer wine flights so that you can do a mini tasting over dinner. I also found out they offer wine tasting classes which I’m keen to try.The wine we had was delish and the food was so good. The homemade ricotta was heaven:My server Sarah went above and beyond, was so sweet and took her time to talk wines with my mom and I ( she had amazing recommendations). I also discussed doing a wine trip to California (I asked for her recs for places ) and she was able to send me home with a list of places to go there as well.Overall had a wonderful experience and glad to have found this amazing wine bar.I love corkbuzz and will definitely be back.
Such a great selection of Champagne—not the mass produced stuff with minimal flavor that you can find anywhere, but grower Champagnes that really reflect the region of Champagne from which they come. Happy hour oysters were such a deal. The rest of the wine list, and the by-the-glass list, is packed with interesting options—will be back to try more!
Great wine bar that I frequent! I really like their fries and the red (gamay) tasting flight. It’s also a good place to do an activity for friends - if you pick the blind tasting flight, they give you an elaborate worksheet to fill out. It’s a fun way to learn more about wine and your wine palette/preferences.
Quite a poor experience… we had a wine testing class at the Union Square location at the back of the bar. The noise from the guests was defeating! Even with her mike, we could barely hear Amber. She is obviously very knowledgeable but we couldn’t make the most of it. And last but not least, one of the wine was corked ! For 160$ you could hope for more…
So knowledgeable and always try such unique wines.
Hands down my favorite wine bar in the city! Their classes are well worth it - lots of fun and a chance to learn from the experts! Be sure to try the ricotta cheese! Made in house and so so good!
Had a great flight and conversation with our wine-tender.
Great wine flights, charcuterie and cheese, and even entrees.
Very knowledge staff with excellent service. Lots of wine to choose from. Good food as well.
Great place for wine tasting
Pretty good place with decent food and a great wine, nice interior
Absolutely everything at this restaurant is top-notch. Best to sample a whole bunch of dishes because each and every one of them is excellent. Service is completely understated but attentive, friendly, and adorable. The wine suggestions are always spot on and excellent. The atmosphere is casual but very chic.
Wow this place overdelivered on my high expectations. First of all, their wine list is so approachable that they have by the glass for $13 all the way to some coravin specials so $40-60 a glass. Additionally, they allow half glasses which means a lot to me so theyre not just trying to get you wasted and you can try more. Very unique and fun tasting flights on the menu as well. Bottle list crazy. And then the more subjective things that vary everyones experience is service. And for me Sara(h) was simply amazing. Very knowledgeable, insightful and genuine. Couldnt speak any higher of her. Thanks for the great experience!
Very good
We boldly went with the Three Blind Wines, which is a blind taste of 3 reds or 3 whites (your pick). We were told this is what sommeliers get and they fill out a sheet identifying the wine based on its color, density, smell, taste, aura, spirit animal etc. OK, maybe not the latter two, but you get the idea. This sheet was massive, and Im pretty proud to say we almost went the whole nine yards. In the end, the answers they revealed didnt really tell us if we identified the different attributes correctly -- they just told us the region and type of grape. (Thats a cautionary tale for anyone embarking on the blind taste test expecting to get answers to everything.)Besides the wine, food here was excellent. We didnt dine but shared a couple of apps. The housemade ricotta is delicious -- I highly recommend it. The fries were also very good (came with a generous amount of truffle oil), but the ricotta was on a whole different playing field.Apparently they are also known for their champagne selection. And Im told that champagnes are half off at some point in the night. Guess thats one more reason to come back.
Lovely space, and it is bigger than it looks from the front. Bartenders explain wine clearly and kindly, they didnt make me feel bad asking questions. Good selection and if wine isnt your thing, they have cocktails and mocktails available.
Ive long been a fan of the Corkbuzz experience in both NYC locations, as well as the Charlotte outpost, but during the Covid-related closures and restrictions, Corkbuzz immediately switched gears and began offering online Zoom classes--taught by the excellent Somm/Beverage Director Ryan Totman; DipWSET Amber Rill; wine-famous guest speakers; and the one-and-only MS/Proprietor Laura Maniec-Fiorvanti. The virtual, hour-long classes are available daily and, as for as little as $10, may cover region, sub-region, varietal, viticulture, vinification, or something else entirely. Participation via Zoom is encouraged but not required; and the content can sometimes be advanced for a novice—but there is nothing covered that isn’t interesting to a true aficionado! And if you happen to be in the industry, preparing for exams, or are just THAT hardcore, go to Corkbuzz.com immediately and sign up ASAP.
Great Place for wine and their ricotta is out of this world
Very friendly staff and good wine!
Great wine list and flight options galore, price points are quite reasonable. The food menu provides minimalist portions at plate prices. Service was quite attentive, waiters came by to get us water and ask us if we needed anything numerous times, additionally, theyre white knowledgeable!
We attended a wine and cheese event at Corkbuzz, and it was lovely. Dorian was our host for the evening and he did a marvelous job! Weve also been there in the past, primarily for wine, but have also enjoyed their appetizers.
The best picked out wine weve found in NYC. The tasting classes are extremely informative and their blind tasting from 4-6pm each day are extremely fun to do. If you want to appreciate wine and want learn a little more about what your buying go here! It also helps when a master somm picks out whats on the menu.
Great selection of wines, appetizers and small plates. Friendly and knowledgable staff. Be sure to make a reservation as it tends to get busy during after work hours. Came in on a Thursday with some work friends and we did the blind tasting flight, a selection of red or white wines. Happy hour flight was $15 (+tax). Ive been here multiple times and would recommend to friends.
Highly recommended wine bar, they have a great selection of wines by the glass and even greater selection of bottles. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable of the specifics of each wine. I had a great time there, defitnetly will go again.
Fun place. Was there for a private party. Staff was very attentive.
Delicious food and lovely wait staff. The nettle spanakopita was amazing!
Great place to grab drinks with friends - too busy talking to snap pics but this place had a large selection of drinks and a cool vibe.
Casual watering hole for wine enthusiasts. Designed for connoisseurs but equally welcoming to average joes, like my group.Lots of wine & the enthusiastic waiters are happy to impart their knowledge to clientele without making you feel like a total fool. Unlike some wine bars. They do have wine tasting events. These really cater to those who are students in the field.A nice offering of cheese & meat boards to compliment their wine selection that was really delicious. We heard about it & wanted to try it out. We were very pleased & will certainly return.
Great service, good food menu and wine flights. Staff are friendly and eager to assist with choosing wine.
Cozy and chic wine bar. Always have great win selection. All the servers are very knowledgeable about each wine on the menu and give great recommendations. Their housemade ricotta cheese is a must try...
Best wine bar in Union square
Corkbuzz is a great little wine bar with a well-curated selection of interesting wines. Some varietals are familiar, others are more obscure. Friendly and knowledgeable staff help guide your selection. Food is delicious. Brussels sprouts and cheese selection are superb. Steak with bone marrow butter is rich and meaty; roasted bass with curry broth and spicy slaw is light and bright. Desserts are hard to resist but not standout. Had a fab meal.
Corkbuzz has never let me down. The wine selection is fantastic, and the staff is extraordinarily knowledgable. Their classes are fun, too, especially the ones with Laura.
Great service. The chefs selection of cheese and meats was delicious! Wide selection of white and red wine. Highly recommend!
Wonderful wine selection. Also amazing expertise among the staff. An exotic collection plus interesting food to accompany it.
Excellent wines and knowledgeable wait staff. Great menu but the food was not as exciting or unique as the descriptions. So focus on what they are known for: wine.
Absolutely incredible and personal experience. Will definitely be going back on a consistent basis.
My boyfriend and I visited Corkbuzz after coming across a coupon for wine tasting. We were pleasantly surprised by the impressive wine selections, delicious small plates, and calming ambience. Will definitely return!
Great selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a really nice interior
Thin cut fries and wine went well together.
It’s a co-working space in the morning. The owner has my respect for being creative and finding different streams of revenue from the same space.More people should do it!
Fantastic menu for the persons that appreciate amazing food!
Amazing place to learn about wine with a friendly staff who shares the passion of the owner. Food is changing and diverse and stands up on its own and as a nice compliment to the wine. Champagne campaign is one of the best values in the city.
A great place to drink a bottle (or two) of wine whether youre an expert or a novice when it comes to wine. The staff is very friendly and informative and will answer any questions you may have. Also, the desserts are to die for! We had a white chocolate pudding with Blueberry sauce that was amazing.
I wish it was possible to rate 6 stars. Had a birthday dinner there. Am from Dubai and spent quite a bit of time trying to find the best restaurant for wine. Looked up the 100 best Wine Enthusiast list. Did research otherwise on the net: quite a few sites. This wasnt listed in the 100 but while I was looking up restaurants this came as a recommendation from Google Maps. So did a few others. Chose this one- and am super glad we did.We did like a tapas plus wine flight dinner.Ricotta Plum Toast (A+), Mushroom Flat bread (A+), Burrata Brulee (A), Brown Butter Cauliflower (A) and Shrimp Cocktail (B). Except for the shrimp all others were just amazing. Dessert was Ricotta Doughnuts and Blood Orange Cheesecake. Didnt enjoy the cheesecake but the Doughnuts were out of this world. For wine did the wine flight. 3 glasses of wine in each flight. In the middle of the 2nd flight was asked to stop by the family. I had the Sommelier Mixtape which had one Greek and 2 Italian (Emilia Romagna) and another of 4 reds and Born in the USA. All excellent.Andrew, the sommelier was par excellence. His knowledge about wine was amazing. Was very patient about my umpteen questions. The meal wouldnt have been half as good without him talking to us about the food and the wine.At the end of it, think why arent there more of these kind of restaurants.Next time in NYC, am coming back.Edit Dec 2019Came back with a friend. It was a rainy evening and I walked in the rain to get here. Had a great dinner with amazing wine.
Pretty, a real wine bar, large knowledgeably chosen range of wines by the glass. Good appetizers. Reservations advised.
Great chill place long on wine knowledge and fresh flavors and short on ‘tude. Loved it.
New favorite place! They play great music here, great location near Union Square, and love their wine and cheese selection! Perfect for the after work crowd.
We were really looking forward to visiting Corkbuzz when visiting the city and it was a let down. The overall mood from the staff came off as negative as if they didnt want to working with one another. While the line was delicious, everything else was off-putting. Ended up being a Buzzkill.
Delicious wine and warm, friendly atmosphere. They need to expand the menu to include vegan options. The gluten free pasta was mushy and unappetizing. No reason an egg free pasta cant be included which, in my opinion, it better than egg pasta anyway. More vegetable entrees too!
Cocktails are as expensive as any other in NYC (about $15 each), and the quality of the drinks is good, but nothing special. The staff is nice and the spot has a good feel.
I’ve never had a more negative experience dining out in New York as I have at Corkbuzz. Our server, Andrew M, was openly complaining and making fun of people at my table, to the maitre D, just 5 feet away from our table. We heard every word. It was rude, insulting, offensive, and by definition, harassment. We made regular drink/food requests and was not rude to anyone. I understand being a server can get hectic during peak hours, but handling a lot of drink orders is what the job calls for. I regret giving my business to Corkbuzz and will not advise anyone to do so, so this behavior is not encouraged.
Disgusting food. Very expensive and extremely tiny portions. Low quality
Great food, service and wine! Would be great for a big group!
Great atmosphere and an even better selection of unique and interesting wines. Only wish I had more time to dive even deeper!
Everyone is so knowledgeable about wine, if you want to learn this is a great place!
Great wine list. We sat at the bar, and ordered several tasting plates to accompany our custom wine flights. Nice experience!
Not sure why this place is popular. It seems to want to make wine a forefront feature of which it seems like its an act trying to fulfill your expectations.
Amazing wine and amazing staff. Incredibly knowledgeable and kind!
Incredible wine list and very knowledgeable staff. Best date spot in Union sq area.
Best wine bar ever
Amazing wines, amazing food. If you are in WV, just come
The wine and cocktails were very good and the bartenders knew their stuff (though slightly stuff about it. Dont be swayed in by the Champagne Campaign, you will still be spending at least $55 a bottle.
Never knew there was a place like this. I personally love wine and Champaign and this is the place you can enjoy at 50% off.
Good wine selection, on the pricey side. Food is better than average.
Great wine selection and fun atmosphere, but usually pretty crowded.
SLOW FOOD / inattentive service - 45+ min to bring out a cheese plate that we ended up having to cancel since we had to leave. Very disappointing as it’s quite pretty with nice wine.
Nice wine bar good selection and service
Come here to enjoy one of their many wines or take a wine education class, often taught by the Master Sommelier. The food here is delicious as well - be sure to order the bucatini.
Very nice food and excellent service!
Great wine, good food, decent service. Would go back only for the wine.
Super nice staff and good food and good wine and good this and good that.
After seeing the TV series Uncorked on Esquire Network we had to come try Corkbuzz. We came about 30 min before our reservation to grab a drink. We sat at the bar and were served by a lovely gentleman. We talked to him for about 30 min about his culinary background and his experience thus far in his hunt for the coveted sommelier certification. Really nice guy. He let us try some great wines and told us all about them. We were seated shortly after. We started off with the duck salumi and house ricotta. Both were great, especially the ricotta.Next we got the kale salad (it was very typical, not memorable), the beet salad (liked this, didnt love it though), the brussels (holy moly, incredible), and the bacon wrapped dates (yum). We got a bottle of white and red at the recommendation of our server (who was also a certified sommelier). Both were very good.
Great wine tasting lead by Nancy
Have visited Corkbuzz several times and each time was a delight. The very knowledgeable servers steered me towards wines that beautifully enhanced the food we ordered. Fabulous Foie Gras, pork belly, potatoes & duck confit, beef cheeks, bone marrow...everything was fabulous. Love the atmosphere - have sat at both the convivial community tables as well as the two tops. Great selection of hard-to-find wines and unique gems with a story. Floor somms and waitstaff work well with both knowledgeable people and also those looking to learn more about wine, or just enjoy a glass or two Looking forward to a return visit!
Took the French Tour class and LOVED it
Meh. Mediocre service, slow prep (1.5 hrs from order until served food). Duck hash item had about 2oz of duck in it. Side salads not dressed. Half price champange bottles was nice.
Good wine and small plates.
Great service, cool energy. Will be back!
Knowledgeable and fun staff with delicious pairings
Great wines, buzzy atmosphere, sophisticated crowd.
Really great wine and vibe!!
Great wine, food, and service.
