Went here for brunch for the first time and the food was AMAZING! I love how much they use just egg and how flavorful everything is. We got the egg sandwich and the BEC bao buns and it was all incredible! Also the breakfast potatoes are now my favorite potatoes EVER. Our server Maya was so sweet and helped make our experience even better. Can’t wait to come back here for dinner!
TENS ACROSS THE BOARD. Literally just popped in for a light much, and I was stunned . The bao buns are a must. The way they make cauliflower taste like fish is sorcery. The textures are fabulous and the flavor is incredible. Plus the theming and servers are both phenomenal!!
Came here with a vegan friend who is from way out of town. She really wanted to eat here and they were really nice to take us at the bar without a reservation. Service was good. Food was tasty. Liked the oyster mushroom chicken and waffles. Perhaps the best is the ambiance tho. Pink, fun and beautiful!
We LOVE Ladybird and have been coming here since 2019. Every single item on their menu is delicious, perfectly flavored and seasoned, and the right texture. I like that they have different types of cuisines on the menu so it doesn’t feel limiting. They also have different flavor and texture palettes which adds to the experience.Food: There were four of us and we got the mushroom toast, buns, Every single entrée was perfect. We somehow still had room for dessert and gotService is always excellent here. Everyone is super friendly and nice. They were even kind enough to bring back the punch bowl drink for us because we requested it.Drinks: They have a large selection of beverages and have some great bottles of Orange Wine which are hard to find at most places. They also have these great punch bowl cocktails which aren’t on the menu but like I said they will do it upon request.Price: For the amount of food we get and the uniqueness of everything I do think LadyBird is reasonably priced and worth it.Instagram: @TheShahLALand
Have always been a fan of brunch but not so much dinner until now. The new dinner menu is so good! loved ever single dish! highly recommend!
The hostess was not hospitable, which isnt a good look for the restaurant or vibe. The atmosphere was cool and pink; it was intimate and chill. The food was good - I especially liked the kale caesar salad and the truffle mac and cheese. I dont know if I will return, because I did not feel very welcomed and I wasnt wow-ed by what I ordered.
I had the best brunch at Ladybird in New York! The food was absolutely delicious, with creative and beautifully presented vegetarian dishes that exceeded all expectations. Every bite was so tasty, and the ambiance made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was so nice and cozy - I felt right at home from the moment I walked in. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect from start to finish. If you’re looking for an exceptional brunch spot in the city, Ladybird is a must-visit. I can’t wait to be back for both brunch and dinner!
Cool ambience. Fun and effective service. Inventive vegan dishes. The maitake buns were divine. Sprouts were good. The chocolate fondue was fun but a little ordinary. Some good wine selections. We will definitely go back.
Great real food. Vegan and minimal processing. Flavorful. Prompt attentive service. Tasty cocktails and nice wine selection. Service great - Maya and another person I didnt get the name of. Andrew the manager was attentive. Definitely coming back.
As someone researching vegan restaurants to try in NYC this place was hyped up. We went for brunch and sat outside. Very feminine and pretty. Service was ok but nothing spectacular. We had the Sherry Mary (would not order) & Whipped Coffee (was fun and yummy), Egg sandwich (was cold and didnt finish it - and I live for breakfast sandwiches!), Chicken & Waffles (Mushrooms were bland, waffles were good, but again cold), and lastly the brunch potato (Seriously incredible, would return just for them). Overall thoughts were that the menu was laughably overpriced, cold food, lacking service but AMAZING Brunch Potatoes. It seems more of a place for Instagram photos, not dining.
Had a reservation for when the restaurant opened. We were greeted and seated promptly upon arrival.I’m not veg myself but my partner is and it was great to be able to share dishes with her. The serving size is generous and very filling. Don’t worry if it’s your first time eating veg food. The food is just as good if not better than it’s meat counterparts considering we left full but not that heavy feeling you get with meat dishes. For a first impression, I was very impressed and will definitely be coming back.
This restaurant turned out to be a big disappointment as I had booked a table and despite the same we were given the bar seats. The reservation systems definitely need improvement. The food and drinks were average. The overall atmosphere was ok however we wanted to leave as we were disappointed with the table reservations arrangement.
We had a reservation and I recommend one especially on busy nights (Thu, Fri, Sat), as this place was busy at 9 pm on Friday when we arrived! We got inside seating, but they also do have a decent outdoor setup. Our friend had suggested close toe shoes, but we found many seated in the restaurant with flip-flops, so its fairly casual here, just how we like it!While they have an impressive cocktail list, note that they dont serve any hard liquor. Its primarily wine and beer. I ordered one of their overpriced $12 pilsners, which came in a can, so nothing to review here! Our order consisted of a few things which included Buffalo Maitake Bun ($7), Ceviche ($16), Truffle Mac & Cheese ($20) , Grilled Cheese ($16), and Potato au Gratin ($16). Food was good, powerful flavors, but price to portion size ratio was definitely off. Could definitely use some improvement here!Service was good; just 1 thing to remember. The restaurant capacity looked pretty good, but they only 1 restroom, so be prepared to wait a little longer!
AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! What they do with the gifts of Mother Earth 🌱 are SO CREATIVE & DELECTABLE!!! Overthrow Hospitality NEVER disappoints! We are ALWAYS WOWED when we go to any of their restaurants. Ladybird was absolutely AWESOME! Unfortunately, I didn’t take photos; I was too busy eating, and we all loved it, loved it, and even the non-vegans LOVED IT!!! 🌱😍💚🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Took a dozen friends and everything exceeded our expectations. Everyone could not stop talking about the food and said theyd be back with friends and partners. It got a little bit loud so maybe some sound ceiling baffling might improve that for us over 50 ;)
Went on a crisp fall Tuesday evening as a party of 3 (had made reservations prior). The ambiance of the place is very victorian parlour-y yet warm. The exclusively vegan menu is curated to satiate all kinds of tastebuds. The po-boy BAO bun is a must try. The mushroom toast was amazing too. They have wonderful drinks and also offer hot beverages on request (had decaf options)The music was mellow when we entered but picked up beats by the time we left! Totally would recommend!
Longtime vegetarian here. For a vegetarian restaurant, this was just fine. But for the cost and reputation, I mean these were pretty simple vegetable dishes and not that exciting or interesting. It is really loud inside in weekends. We sat outside. It was fine. I mean. This was not bad but I guess I was just hoping for something really good. The Brussels sprouts were undercooked. The risotto special needed more flavor. Really this place was just fine and actually nice enough but just not great.
Ladybird is incredible. We ordered 5 dishes and had cocktails/wine and it was all awesome. The eggplant fried in the marinara sauce, the potato au gratin, Buffalo bao, po boy bao, and the aracini were all absolutely fantastic. Very flavorful and unique. The service was also very good and the restaurant had a very pleasant, floral aesthetic that provides a great ambiance. Highly, highly recommend!
I hate writing bad reviews and only do so when it is ridiculous. The service was appalling. We arrived on time for an early reservation (6pm). We were the first in line and took 20 minutes to get seated. Once we were seated, people after us got water and orders taken, we had to ask. Once we ordered (6:45), people came to either side of us and ordered fairly quickly. They got their food (one had the exact same food I ordered 10 minutes before them, 7:15). 15 minutes later we asked (7:35) and finally got our food at 7:45.From the time we arrived, it took 1 hour 45 minutes to get our food. We ate quickly (starving) and took another 20 minutes to waive someone down to pay. We finally left at 8:05.I wrote down the times because it became so comical. The ambiance was cute, the food was delicious. However, it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
We came here on a whim on a Friday ~7pm seatswithout a reservation and snagged the last 2 bar seats. The menu is a bit limited (more tapas than big meals) but everything we ordered was very tasty. We got one of each baos- my fav bao bun was the maitake mushroom, while my husband preferred the tofu. The grilled cheese is good, but the “cheese” in the middle just isn’t as good as dairy cheese. The tomato soup is incredibly rich and delicious. The lighting is low, the music is a little loud, and the crowd is typical of the neighborhood (20’s).There’s another vegan place next door that seems like more of a sit down restaurant - this place has more “lounge” vibes.
A lovely experience from beginning to end. Thoughtfully curated plant-based eats paired with delicious cocktails and an intricate wine list.Highly recommended for both vegan and omni diners 🥂
Overall great experience. Loved the ambiance. Kale Caesar was the best choice! Liked the buns as well. The mushroom one was better than the cauliflower. Do not recommend the ricotta toast.
I finally came here to try out the brunch menu and I’m kicking myself for not coming sooner. Every dish we ordered was incredible and mouthwatering. My friend and I loved the scallion pancake, grilled cheese, and the matcha waffles! I still can’t believe how the kitchen was able to create a vegan egg yolk that had the same consistency and look of the real thing.Whether you’re vegan or not, this brunch menu is unreal and the interior restaurant is beautiful!
I loooooved the place. As soon as I came in I fell in love with the interior design. They only had two waiters so service wasn’t the fastest , but it’s understandable for such a small and cozy place. Now onto more important things, the food. Everything was delicious, especially the fried mushroom and waffles. I know I’ll be coming back soon!
The food is amazing with a great taste. I’m very impressed by the flavors; all the dishes were excellent. The Bao Buns and the potatoes platter were particularly outstanding.
Soooo glad that my friends and I decided to give this place a try. Definitely a little pricier, but since it is tapas style, you’ll be able to split the cost up with your group pretty easily ;) The KFB, Grilled Asparagus & Eggplant was PHENOMENAL. My friends also had the Truffle Mac & Cheese w/ jalapeños and mushroom bacon, as well as some bao buns & cocktails, and they were definitely NOT disappointed. Our server, Paul, was very personable & kind! Overall, great experience. Even though it was 90 degrees outside and we were dripping with sweat, the outdoor seating was covered and equipped with fans, so it was bearable :) Thank you Ladybird!
I celebrated my birthday dinner at Ladybird with 9 friends, all non-vegans, and it was a delightful experience for everyone. The food was simply delicious, with each dish full of flavor and beautifully presented. The ambiance was perfect for a celebratory evening, making it a memorable birthday celebration. A special thanks to Honey for arranging my reservation on just 1 weeks notice. She was incredibly responsive and accommodating.
LADYBIRD is one of my favorite 100% vegan spots in the city. It has an upscale, elegant-but-fun vibe. The drinks are always great - my go-to is the one simply named LADYBIRD. (Delicious and easy to remember!) The food is always excellent, and they recently overhauled the menu with some incredible Asian-inspired dishes. I went with a friend and tried almost the entire new menu: Watermelon Tacos, the Sweet Thai Bun, Cucumber Salad, Miso-glazed Avocado, Bánh Mì Toast (my favorite), the Hot Udon bowl, the Tonkatsu Sandwich, the Kimchi Mac & Cheese, and the Cherry Yuzu Cheesecake. It’s a very different menu than in the past…but, as always, it is incredibly well done. Ladybird is a perfect date spot, but you can also enjoy it with a group of friends for an upscale occasion. I highly recommend it.
The food was good with very quick service.
Gorgeous space with gorgeous food! I got the KFB, Brussel Sprouts, Baos, potato gratin, and the Mac and cheese and I was blown away. The highlight for me was the KFB and the Brussels. Though the portions were small and expensive, the food and setting was super unique and enjoyable!
Everything here was great. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was nice.
Came here for brunch. Food tasted good but portion was small for the price (I ordered the Bao’s). My friend had the cheese sandwich which actually tastes very close to real cheese. A bit ridiculous to charge $4 for three tiny slices of avocado and another $4 for a few tiny crumbles of mushroom bacon in my opinion. My friend added those as well to her cheese sandwich in addition to jalapeños and got charged $4 for each one. My boa’s would be plain without those toppings so not sure why there would be a charge for them…..
We had a great time at Ladybird! The service was friendly and the staff members took good care of us. We recommend to reserve in advance to have a table. For more pictures, visit my Instagram (IG: kelledstyle) :-)
Beautiful and loved the vibe of it… and it was not just decor and vibe but even food was awesome and the service was great… drinks were pretty good too and they have nice menu…
I usually enjoy vegan restaurants a lott, but this one didnt meet expectations. Menu / food options couldve been better . But the service was great. And the hot chocolate with fruits was reallyy good
The bao buns, ‘egg’ sandwich and potatoes were soooo good. Recommend the passionfruit mimosa and whipped coffee
Their buns were very delicious, would definitely go back just for the buns, staff is very friendly and welcoming, atmosphere of the restaurant gives off a nice classy elegant feel.
Loved it here and will be back. Good food, good portions (possibly more than we could eat) and nice cocktails. Also fabulously friendly people behind the bar. I came back a week later and the same girl, Maya, recognised me and was just as friendly. She was just about as lovely a human you could care to meet. Do visit and try all their food. The apple fizz cocktail comes recommended.
Amazing food, ambiance and cocktails. Try the fondue, its really delicious. Service was fantastic, as soon as we walked into the restaurant we were greeted with such warmth I knew we made the right call going there :). Would love to come back!!
Mushroom bun was FIRE.Also ordered little croquettes which were good.Wine was tasty. (They only serve beer & wine)If you ask for “still” water you will be charged $8Docked a star because the prices are incredibly inflated. This isn’t a place to go if you are hungry or want multiple drinks, but the atmosphere is nice and our bartender was very friendly. They have happy hour after 11pm I believe.
Great service, cute set-up, good food, fun cocktails! We always love tapas style places so when we went vegetarian this place immediately went to the top of our list and it didn’t disappoint! Our favorite was the ricotta toast!
I wish I took more food pics, this place is amazing even if you aren’t vegan! The tapas are perfect for sharing! Highly recommend the Mac & Cheese! To die for. One word: truffle salt! the KFB which one of my favorites- fried broccoli with the gojuchang tamari sauce is heavenly. The grilled cheese was fantastic. WINE WAS AMAZING pairing with all of the food. Service was excellent- our server was incredible. She had short blonde hair and braids last night so shout out to them.Go here.
I love this place. One of the prettiest restaurants Ive been to - well decorated and it is quiet small (cozy). Food is so yummy (buffalo miatake buns are very delicious) and the drinks are on point as well. Waiters are well informed and nice as well. I would visit this place again!
The staff is absolutely amazing. The grilled cheese was the star of the 3 items. The grilled cheese was full of flavor and had amazing texture. The chicken and waffles was “meh, the mushrooms lacked flavor and was overly greasy, but the waffle was great. The brûlée had a great crunchy sugary top with a smooth custard, if you like the flavor of coconut, then this will be great pick.
Unbelievable vegan restaurant! Everything from the drinks to the food to the service to the atmosphere was perfection. Great place to go even if you’re not vegan.
Lively ambiance, delicious food and great service. Very cute spot. Thank you for the lovely experience. :)
Overall my partner and I had a great time ! Super relaxed and cute! One slight hiccup , when it came time to pay , they didnt take cash 🫠 not sure why and didnt feel like asking but we paid card instead.
I had one of the best vegan meals of my life here! Every dish was delicious, and mine were gluten free as well as vegan! Cute date spot!
Great atmosphere and tasty vegetarian cuisine. Quinoa dish was refreshing and memorable. We ordered dessert at the end, but no dessert menu was available do the server told us the items. We ordered one and got whiplash at the price on the receipt - $25 for a brownie sundae is not reasonable, even in NYC.
My husband and I are vegan and we absolutely loved our dinner here! The food was so good, flavorful, and comforting but it still felt healthy. We got the mushroom and cauliflower bao buns (highly recommend!), the scalloped potatoes (also so good), the truffle Mac n cheese with mushroom bacon (also amazing) and we had the creme brulee for dessert which was lovely. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also so cool and fun. And, the booths and chairs were super comfy. If we lived in NYC, we would eat here all the time!
One of the best vegan place I have been. The food was excellent and I only have amazing things to say about flavors and texture. Also we are able to get a table super fast, thank you so much for the front desk who was super helpful. Everyone was actually nice and happy to help with glitter free options and all, super appreciated .I know vegan food of high level is still not common but the prices are high, we got 3 plates and 2 teas for 84$. I was a bit shook cause sharing food size not full main courses. The one thing I found lame was the surcharge for no cash, this is 2023, everyone used card or Apple Pay, you charge a copious amount for the food, it felt really greedy to add 3$ to pay by card. Just not a good look in my opinion compare to other places.
This place was amazing, we came here for our anniversary and they treated us like rockstars with complementary bubbly and extra dishes. The food was so delicious—particularly recommend the bao buns and the eggplant. Great to come to a restaurant with so many exciting vegan options. Friendly helpful service and the chef came out to chat—can’t rate this place highly enough. Perfect for a special evening!
I went here for brunch, and I was not disappointed! The space is beautiful and unique with an airy, contemporary atmosphere. My chikn n waffles had full-body flavor with texture to match (I could have honestly done without the brunch potatoes and fresh cucumber juice though). The host, my server, and other staff I interacted with in passing were cordial and spirited.
Second time visiting Ladybird and everything was just as great as the first time. Really enjoyed the buffalo bun and broccoli tempura. Service was also really attentive and friendly!
One of my favourite dining experiences while visiting the city. Its not cheap but its well worth the price!
Do not go they are racist. Went there with my friend to celebrate her birthday and they made us wait over an hour than a group of CAUCASIANs came wanting to sit at the bar and the host said the bar is full you can sit over here. MIND YOU we have waited for a table for over an hour. There were tables available and the BARTENDER spilled water on me and had an attitude when i said ill send them the dry cleaning bill. I will never recommend this place. And i had to give them a star leave it up to me i wouldnt give them nothing because they dont deserve it. I uploaded pics of the empty seats!!
An incredibly delicious plant-based restaurant! Everything on the menu was tapas style, which was great for sharing amongst our table. Dishes are simple but incredibly effective. I’d especially call out the brussel sprouts, Korean fried broccoli, eggplant, and the kale Caesar. I was taken aback by the flavor coming off these dishes. I especially want to know how they craft the vegan cheese on top of the eggplant, it was smooth and delicious.
Amazing food and drinks! Cocktails are all craft wine based and are super tasty. Had the buffalo buns (some of the best bao buns I’ve had), truffle mac and cheese which was perfect😍, and the brownie sunday was huge and very rich. Also the arancini were good too. Great service and ambiance as well, will definitely be coming back. ALSO, everything is vegan and you can’t even tell, 10/10!
Amazing food at this restaurant. Everything was delicious and service was wonderful. Highly recommended.
My partner and I had such an amazing experience here at Ladybird! The staff and food were outstanding! We had the most lovely time celebrating our anniversary here. The staff helped my partner set up a surprise dessert and sparkler for me and I will forever cherish this memory that they helped build for us. Im blown away by the kind and incredible staff and cant wait to try more of their delicious food in the future!
Had a birthday here and it was wonderful! The food is Asian vegan, my favorite was the kale salad that had dressing that tasted like Bjorn Corn. The vibe is very Bridgerton with glass tea cups and pastel colored plates. The music was boppin. The waitstaff was attentive! Had a great time overall.
Cute date night spot. Super cool vibe. The food is incredible! Highly recommend for a night out in the East Village.
Love everything about Ladybird - the ambience, service, and of course, the food. If I could cook like they do, I’d easily become vegan. Highly recommend this spot even for non vegans
The decoration was beautiful, but that’s about the only good thing I can say about this place. Service was not welcoming and weird, they all had an attitude. All the dishes came in really small portions and were very overpriced. The mac and cheese would have been delicious if it wasn’t so spicy. Tables are very close together and it gets really loud, so if you have misophonia or if you’re easily triggered by sounds, don’t go there. I don’t feel like I got my money’s worth and wouldn’t come back.
Wonderful experience, many of the same team members work between the collectives restaurants so it was nice seeing familiar faces. The food is unmatched, we had a few non-vegan family members attend brunch with us and they were amazed at the flavor the dishes boast. Wonderful ambiance. Will go again!
I discovered a ladybird some years ago when I celebrated a birthday. I thought it was a fantastic place, and I still have the pic I took with the cute vintage phone on my social media account. When I was looking for a place to celebrate my graduation, I knew to celebrate it at Ladybird. So I booked Ladybird in March for May. I communicated all my questions, for example, can I add small decor to the tables, which I was told yes and that we would have to come in at least an hour before. Can I bring a cake? Yes, as long as it is vegan and nut free(which it was). Great! I was excited as we booked so far in advance, with enough time for all qualms, etc., to be communicated. So upon arriving, the energy was off. We had no idea that the staff was having a team meeting! If we had known this, we would have just arrived at 5. The time that it was scheduled for. And also, they had to ask if it was okay for us to come in early to add the small party favors to the table. We booked in March, and I was told over the phone and through email that it was okay—emails I still have. But unfortunately, this set the tone for how the evening would go. So the cake was an issue as well. And the manager, who seemed overly annoyed, told us that we would be charged a plating fee of 7$ per slice…for my cake; this information again was not communicated to us, and again we booked in March. And if I had known, we would never have made a reservation in the first place. And no courtesy was extended, considering the restaurant did not communicate.Unfortunately, some of my family members did not like the set menus provided…which annoyed me because I already felt tension because we were there. As a customer, why did I feel like I did something to these people?! Being that we were the only Black people in the restaurant. Also, the waiter assumed that my brother, a tall Black man, would want soda! And he replied that he doesn’t drink soda. Why assume that? And I couldn’t cut my cake, and it was done in such a distasteful matter. We paid for that cake; the least they could have done was allow me to cut it. And again none of this was communicated to me.The manager gave my sister an attitude earlier because he wanted to take the cake off of the table, and she wanted to take a pic of it. So instead of being polite, he was rude, which was disappointing. The energy of the manager drove the hostesses that we dealt with. It was so horrible. They wanted us to leave. And because we left after 7 pm and not precisely at 7, I knew by the way the servers kept looking at us and asking if we needed anything they wanted us gone—a very disappointing experience, especially on day that was special to me.I believe they were having a team-building meeting that we, unfortunately, walked in on. The energy and the behavior of the manager and staff show they still need many more sessions. Thanks again. The food was lovely, though
Really enjoyed this spot! I’m not even vegan, but it’s just good food period, no “for vegan food” qualifier needed!!!! The “chicken” and waffles were incredible.
Frank and Elisha were beyond amazing. Wonderful food and music accompanied by great atmosphere. This place is worth it’s weight in saffron.
10/10! The hostess Veronica was very friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us on a busy night. The service was amazing and the food/drinks were to die for! Everything we ordered was so delicious and satisfying. (Someone’s going to have to stop me from eating here every day.) The entire staff made my family and I feel like we were right at home and we are so thankful! Thank you to Jackie and to everyone. Definitely recommending this gem!
Had a most excellent sampler dinner on NYE. The staff was incredible, and all of the dishes were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the eggplant parm, arancini, and bao buns.
So yummy! We reserved sidewalk seating in the late summer and ordered pretty much one of everything to share. I’m a huge fan of this whole family of vegan eateries in the East Village. Great mix and variety of foods. Excellent service. Slightly more expensive than some other local places, hence the 4 stars if you’re on a budget.
Great concept, the chocolate fondue needs more depth. The pineapple was a bit tough and not ripe, the dessert left me waiting for more. Our options were vegan truffle Mac and cheese, which to be honest, was very tasty. It packed a nice punch or flavor and texture. The potatoes sat on a creamy sauce, honestly the star of the show. The crispy broccoli drenched in a tasty gochujang dressing is a must, if you like planta queens bang bang broccoli, this is a good option for you.The portions are shareable, and the overall aspect of the place is quite unique. I would skip on the chocolate fondue, but overall a great vegan experience in NY.
We really enjoyed our meal of small, shared plates. The flavor profiles were rich and even the carnivores in our group liked the meal. The decor is chic and comfortable, though the service could have been more attentive.
We began the evening after being seated 30min late for our reservation, and service continued to be slow the entire evening, especially between each course that was served. However! The hostess and our waitress continuously checked in with us, apologized for the pace of service, and made sure our drink orders were kept up with. The food was also amazing; each course was perfect and not sloppily arranged etc. So!!! Even though the service was not NY paced or timely, they were hospitable and made the evening very pleasant. We appreciated their close attention to us. Would definitely recommend. //An intimate space with an unforgettable ambiance. Perfect representation of the amazing vegan cuisine in NY.
Some of the best vegan food iv ever eaten! I went with a friend who is vegan and we were both blown away. You MUST get the chorizo toast and the sprouts.. everything was delicious and great portion sizes too!
Hands down one of the best vegan restaurants I have been to. Great food and ambience.Must try : 1.Eggplant 2. Mac and cheese
The brunch is so good. The fritatta is a definite recommended.
Overall experience was 💯💯💯💯💯! The food was amazing! My family and I are not vegan but we were highly impressed with ALL their vegan dishes! We ordered the trio buns, shishito peppers, KFB, arancini, truffle mac & cheese, potato au gratin. We got some cucumber juice and ginger mocktails, we had their desserts and we are so obsessed with everything! Shoutout to Chef Reagan for our complimentary drinks and desserts! 🤍 All the staff are so nice and sweet and they made sure that we were well taken care of & the ambiance and atmosphere is so cozy as well 💞 Our whole experience is seriously making us contemplate on becoming vegan 👌🏽
The food was hit or miss. Eggplant stole the show, po boy bao in second. The corn mezze is awful: baby corn with lackluster hummus and unflavorful harissa. Brussels were okay. Overall probably not worth the price, but I’ve had other dishes here that are good.
Really nice vibe and the tempura was amazing I would go back just to order that. The brulee was pleasant and the drinks were great as well.
Such a cute place!! I went here for dinner with my friend, and we shared the Champagne and Artichoke fondue (the waitress recommended the type of fondue, saying it was a good choice for those who had never had it before). It was delicious!! My friend is not vegan and is obsessed with cheese, so I was worried she wouldnt like it. But she loved it!! The decor and atmosphere is cool-- a bit retro, but with modern updates and cute little touches that make you feel like youre in an expensive restaurant-- but not a snobby one. The service was great.
I was invited by non vegan friends. We had a company of five. I didnt expect a lot, yet out experience was above and beyond. Food! Oh là là! Burst of flavors and textures in my mouth! Thats not what people usually expect from vegan good. The service was great, the restaurant itself is so cozy and lovely. The only thing that I didnt like is that we had to eat for an hour as we didnt have a reservation. I guess, it tells you a lot about the place, as it is also huge for NYC standards. Must try
One of my absolute favorite restaurants in the city. always used to be a top dinner place. but now i’m partial to their brunch—it’s unreal. all so, so good. can’t wait to return another 1000 times.
Our server, Gaviel (forgive me for misspelling), was AMAZING! It was our first time and he worked hard to make sure we experienced the best of the restaurant. We had such a good time and an even better meal. Everything was great from the food, to the mood, to the music, to the bathroom, and even to Gaviel’s smile. I already have a reservation for next week.
Outstanding!!! Mouthwatering.it was a busy night we got lucky to get a reservation that nightthe server was OK? he was not the ,most pleasant but by the time we made him laugh he was so cool!!The food was the best I have eaten so far ... Cant wait to go back
Such a cute cozy intimate spot! The veggie dishes are unique and creative, and perfect for sharing. We shared a cocktail and it came in a bowl with a ladle and mugs.. the cutest! (This restaurant is very Instagram-able) The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the seating felt pretty tight (we were practically on top of our neighbors) and it was kind of loud inside. Not every single dish was spectacular, but most were really good. Try a bunch and see!
This appears as one of the best vegan restaurants in Manhattan and we were SO disappointed. Service was poor, the plates were not up to par and the ambiance was weird. The servers had a cold attitude and the food reflected that service. I do not recommend, especially for the price!
You hear the one about the vegan, the carnivore, the pescatarian, and the person with a dairy allergy all going to dinner? Instead of this being the start of a joke, this was my family going out to dinner in New York City this week. We chose Ladybird primarily because vegan restaurants are usually safer for my youngest son, who has a severe dairy allergy. My experience started in the early afternoon when I emailed the restaurant to ask questions about my sons allergy. While vegan food is usually safe, some restaurants use vegan cheese from manufacturers that create their own whey and casein through non-animal means. The positive is you have cheese-like products that do not use animal products. The negative is they will still trigger allergic reactions in people with milk allergies. The restaurant was very responsive, even giving me the external products they use so I could double-check the ingredients. We then arrived at the quaint little restaurant in East Village later that night for a fantastic meal. My son with the dairy allergy was thrilled to have a place he could eat safely. My vegan son said this was his best meal of our NYC trip. Even my carnivore wife was happy with the menu. The restaurant serves small dishes, so you eat tapas-style. We were still talking about their KFB the day after. In addition to great food, the atmosphere and staff were all great too. Well be back on our next trip.
I’ve been a vegetarian for 22 years, and lived in NYC for the last 11 years—and I can honestly say that Ladybird is one of the best vegan restaurants in all of NYC! Hands down. I have had [almost] every item on the menu, and there isn’t a single thing I haven’t loved! My favorites are the Buffalo Maitake Buns (I’m salivating just thinking about them 😛😋), the Ricotta Toast, Grilled Cheese w/ Spicy Tomato Soup, and the Chocolate Fondue. The decor inside the restaurant is so beautiful and unique. The yummy food and beautiful decor make Ladybird the perfect vegan restaurant that everyone needs to experience—even for skeptical carnivores. It will not disappoint!
Great vegan food in a nice atmosphere. Good vibes, space between table and floral/ tropical touches. We tried 5-6 dishes and they were all very good, prepared in a unique way.Just a little disappointed by the chocolate fondue but this may be because I have no reference point for vegan chocolate.
Staff was very friendly and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. The food was excellent and satisfying. Each dish was unique and flavorful to the last bite. I though the system of marking down the dishes you wanted is a good idea. I would definitely come back. Hope this helps!
Even during these difficult covid-19 times, the vegan tapas are nowhere as scrumptious as those at Lady Bird. Plenty of outdoor seating, socially distanced and clean service solutions (wrapped utensils, staff wears masks, cocktails in individual glass bottles) makes eating here feel like there is hope of returning to a normal world. Come support this great East Village restaurant—you won’t be disappointed.
This is not an amazing vegan restaurant — this is an amazing restaurant period. Every bite we took we were like oh my god this is soo good and we ate every crumb. The people are also amazing. They were so nice and caring and they told us a little background about each dish which was really fun and nice. Also the decor is so pretty and romantic. I would definitely take a date here and eat chocolate fondue with him.
My absolute favorite restaurant in NYC and Im not even a vegan! You cant go wrong here - everything is good - and thats coming from someone who has indeed tried everything. Top hits are the Kale Salad, Buffalo Maitake Buns, KFB and the Ricotta Toast. If you are a meat eater, do not be afraid of this place! You will absolutely not miss the meat when you eat at Ladybird.
It’s fine if you are vegan. If you’re not, it’s a bit depressing. Inside is stuffy and dark and made me feel claustrophobic. I had the KFB which was nice and crispy but wish there was more sauce. The truffle Mac and cheese was fine but gave me a huge stomach ache right after. Wouldn’t come again :( sad because I love to support vegan or vegetarian only restaurants but this place needs to retweak their menu
Absolutely fantastic- really amazing delicious food (had grilled cheese and the egg sandwich) the waitress (mya I think) was incredibly helpful and really sweet!
Wonderful vegan brunch and we’ll executed cocktail 🍸 We enjoyed the B.E.C Sliders & the Fried Oyster Mushroom and Waffles 🧇
Came here to meet up my wifey for some dinner after I was done with my dinner..Came here for a drink. I got the coconut mix drink. It tasted very refreshing and good. It wasnt too sweet but it wasnt strong either. It was like a light dessert. The price of the drink was 16..Drinks in nyc prices are average for 15 easily for a cocktail. Including tax and tip your looking at 20..So we tried the vegan cheesecake. It was good with lots of cashew cream and it was light sweet. The cheese cake had strawberry on top. Out of our trip vegan cheesecake best is happy zoe. But this one wasnt bad..Overall the inside here is cool and chic. But night time its dark and has neon pink lights. It had good drink and dessert which I tried and like. Wifey liked the food vegan so we both win. Thanks for reading and have a googletastic day!
My sister and I came here to eat for dinner. Great food, great drinks, beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff. Place wasnt packed. We came at 5pm on a Thursday. We didnt have reservations but they gave us a table anyway. I recommend the eggplant the Ginger Mockingbird is super delicious.
Great service—Ally was such a lovely server and bartender. The sundae, po’ boy and KFB were all very delicious and decadent! Highly recommended and would definitely visit again.
Pretty, fancy, and feminine atmosphere.I felt like I was having teatime.I ordered a Buffalo Maitake Bun and it was delicious. The bun was perfect texture- not too gooey. And the filling was crispy with a deliciously spiced sauce.I shared the Truffle Mac & Cheese and I loved it too. The sauce was creamy and the truffle added dimension to the flavor. The waitstaff was nice and professional and overall a great experience.I also have to mention the bathroom is gorgeous (take cute pics)and the door for the dinner hours is to the 1st one if youre coming from 1st Avenue.
Most of the food is great. A few things, like the Brussels sprouts, have waaay too much oil. Lots of gluten-free options, including excellent GF bread for toasts. Service can be slow, especially at night when theyre busy. Prices are extremely high, but sadly this is pretty normal for the neighborhood. Elegant, spacious restroom.
Excellent new vegan restaurant. Ordered two salads which were both excellent. Also recommend the sweet potatoes. Dessert trio was yummy! Service was fantastic throughout. Only tip for owners would be to offer warm drinks (espresso or tea would have made this meal perfect).
Delicious vegan food! Definitely coming back!
I absolutely love this place. I walk into her and I feel like Im in the Barbie dream house.. The food is so amazing and the staff is so nice. Its great to come here for brunch or just a quick snack. Its even beautiful for dinner. I really appreciate their wines by the glass.
We took our future in-laws here for dinner. The food was very good and our server was excellent. HOWEVER, the room we were in was dimly lit and my husband mis-read the bill and added the tip wrong.(he intended to leave 25%).Instead of asking to speak to him privately, the manager came into the room and publicly embarrassed him in front of our guests. It ruined our experience there.
The hostess and the chef were Highly Dignified towards me.I was so blessed with this Divine execution of the eggplant marinara. There was a teaspoon short of cashew ricotta(it wouLd have been GreaT to have just slightly more)but other than that it was Perfection.I wish there was a second LadyBird Located on the Upper West Side near Broadway and 97Th StreeT.A LadyBird in the oLd Cafe Viva Location wouLd be Spectacular, since Cafe Viva UNFORTUNATELY is not there any Longer.I wish that this Hostess and this Chef were at all my favorite restaurants, even though that isn’t possible.I was there on October 2nd,2023(at 5:50pm)-I’m just including this information so that the owner will know exactly which individuals are being spoken of so positively.
Its a very cutesy ambiance. Food was limited, but it was good, nothing to write home about, but good. Drinks were fun and pricier than norm NYC drinks.Overall, youre going here for the experience and not necessarily because they have delicious food. The bao bun was good and actually cheap but that was my one call out.Literally we left and said that wad fun but expensive, this was our splurge.
Cool decor. The food is expensive but the eggplant was really yummy. The arancini was OK. They need to have a coat rack for the customers that dine at the bar.
Very chic vegan restaurant! Every dish we had was delicious. It is tapas style so you will need 2-3 per person to be full. The prices are a bit high since you need to order multiple dishes. Beer and wine served no liquor. Tip they have half off bottles of wine after 11pm.
Creative menu & tasty dishes
I love this place, I sincerely go downtown just for the Rose Lemon Drops!
Good vegetarian attempt. Only feedback - please don’t try to emulate the meat dishes - the mushroom bacon was not even edible. Needs more focus on cleaning as well - the fan outside was really dusty and the bathroom was not clean either.
Went to celebrate a special day. They definitely made sure we had best time. They were very understanding of my little one. Very cozy beautiful place. Artistic in each corner. Very warm, welcoming and caring staff.
Love this spot! All vegan, and many gluten free options. Unique flavors and combos. Super cute interior design too. Really unique.
Coming from L.A., I was told Ladybird was the word so of course had to try it out while I was out here. It’s labeled as a vegan tapas wine bar and it really has that kind of cozy intimate feel to it. Almost Valentine like. Perfect for dates or couples but spacious enough for small groups. They even have outdoor seating. We only had a chance to try two plates. While I’m not a fan of buffalo sauce, the Maitake Bao Buns were incredibly tasty with just the right amount of spice and flavor. The Three Cheese Grilled Cheese sandwich was the real winner though. It came with a dish of “spicy” (not really) tomato sauce very similar to your tomato soup combo. Absolutely delicious combo. And while this is a wine bar with what seems like a nice selection of vino, their creative use of them in cocktails is what really puts them above most wine bars. While they border along the fruitier side of drinks similar to tiki drinks, they’re very well balanced and flavorful. Highly recommend those if you can’t decide what wine to choose.Lack of a star for not being able to tell us what exactly kind of cheeses were used in the grilled cheese. Yes I’m aware it’s all “plant based” but certain people still have allergies to nut based cheeses and that is an important factor to take into consideration. They advise to make reservations but if it’s just or another the bar is always open. Highly recommend for something other than your standard vegan fare.
So I FINALLY made it to Ladybird today and YOWZA!!!!!! Amazing food!!!!! Surpassed my expectations in every way! The ambiance, the decor, the service, and the food were all on point. I think its my new favorite vegan restaurant. Everything was sooooooo savory and tasty!!!! Paul was our server and he was lovely. Super friendly and on top of everything. I literally didnt have to ask for anything. He was on top of pre-bussing, filling our drinks and we didnt have to wait forever to be greeted or for the bill at the end. This place is the best!!!!
New menu! Got even better. Service 11/10 as always.
The place is very pretty and feminate, using a lot of flowers, mirrors, and pink color for decorations. It is a bit pricey for the small portion and vegetables ingredients. The seseme in my avocado dish are stale and green pea fritters are a bit salty. We ordered kobucha, basil swift and sharp tailed grouse. All drinks are great. Desert flights are delicious.
Food here was absolutely amazing and the place is very cute. Service was great also. We went here for brunch and had the French toast which was very good (vegan&GF), the avocado toast which was seasoned so well (GF option!), the buns which were delicious and the frittata that was so good and the texture they managed to achieve with the egg substitute was very impressive. Highly recommended!
Cute place. nice tapas like dishes. bun and kale ceasar are must haves. very welcoming and comfortable. attentive service. great atmosphere and design. dont have to be vegan to enjoy.
Ladybird is a beautiful, quaint, upscale vegan restaurant tucked away on the second floor of a building close to Washington Square Park. The atmosphere is of elegance and class, green cushioned stools and white tables with crystal candlelight and the service is impeccable! The appetizers were delicious but the entrees need a bit of work, it was under-salted but still managed to taste good. The drinks are good for those who love inventive and spicy cocktails. Go at least once, for the experience.
Great place for brews and food. I had the pork tacos this time and loved them paired with a crisp hefeweizen. The beer list is extensive and menu offers lots of choice. Im going to keep heading back and try to knock them all off.
I visited Ladybird on 3/5/2020 and I loved it. The atmosphere was cozy, chic and chill. The playlist was great too. Definitely a vibe. My best friend and I, were seated at the bar and we ordered a lot of food and were not disappointed at all with any plate. We ordered the buffalo mitake buns, baby corn, brussel sprouts, spaghetti squash, (to drink) shear water sprtiz and reunion ibis. The BUFFALO MITAKE BUNS were buns thee most soft. The buffalo cauliflower in the center gave it a kick that I truly enjoyed. The BABY CORN truly impressed me as far as taste. The corn puree gave it a hint of sweet and the subtle crunch from the almonds set me off. It was amazing. The BRUSSEL SPROUTS was not our go to on the menu but our handsome waiter insisted it was a hit so we decided to try it and we were glad we did as would you. Mind you I am not a fan of brussel sprouts but I was that night LOL. Lastly, the SPAGHETTI SQUASH..... it was delish. I never had it before and thats all I crave now. In addition to all the greatness being served, everything was made to order, served fresh and quick. The drinks were pretty good but Id recommend the REUNION IBIS. It was a very refreshing drink and delicious. Compliments to our waiter. He was such a very handsome gentleman, very knowledgeable about the menu and was a pro at making the drinks. THANK YOU LADYBIRD 😊
Wow! Im a carnivore but am impressed by how good they make vegan food taste here! it was enjoyable and satisfying!
The restaurant decor was super cute. And most of the food was pretty good. But I think the fondue was over hyped. All you can taste was salt. Their mushroom toast, eggplant with tomato sauce, and Korean fried broccoli were delicious. Totally would go back for the eggplant! The truffle Mac and Cheese tasted kind of bland and weirdly too thick.
The vegan fondue was good, but the manager Zach was really terrible and incredibly rude. I liked the old location a lot and went multiple times, but the new location is less personable, the table setup is not ideal, and the management is horrendous. We asked to switch tables because we seated right by the kitchen and it was noisy and difficult to speak. Zach refused to move us, without explanation, and then gave us a fake name when we tried to complain about the service. I wouldnt go back for such poor service and mediocre ambiance when the price point is so high. Its such a pity that the restaurant has poor managerment. I suggest Dirt Candy or Avant Garden instead.
Love this place! Im not vegan myself and I did not miss the meat! Bring on the veggies! The bao buns were phenomenal, both were incredible. I ordered the truffle mac n cheese with mushroom macon, super tasty and flavorful. I loved the ricotta toast as well as the brussel sprouts! The cocktails were also super refreshing and so cute as well, plus I ordered a side car of bubble. I’ll definitely be back and I’d highly recommend this place!
I had the avocado, the loaded potatoes and the chocolate peanut butter mousse. The food was really good but the dessert was just okay. The place is definitely better for meal sharing than going on your own. A bit pricey but the food was worth it.
Celebrated a birthday at Ladybird and everything from the food to the atmosphere was amazing. The staff was friendly too. Every dish we ordered was delicious. My favs are the mushroom with onion toast, brussel sprouts and the baos. Will be back to try other menu items.
Great vegan food (love the bao’s) but portions were very tiny … they also for some reason did not have cocktails that night, only wine and beer, which was disappointing because it was my birthday dinner
Its an investment and I probably was paying more for the ambiance than food. Food was great though. Small plates, but always enough to split bt our group of three. Our reservation started on time and everything was great on the service side. V cute decor!
Must try Grapefruit bittern cocktail! So goooood. Very cozy and charming place decorated beautifully with plants and antique props. This place is also called a vegetable bar, so the food is meatless but still creatively done and tasty.
Great vegetarian options. Must try in new York city for the vibe and menu selection if you are vegan. My fav are the buns
Would never return to Ladybird. We dined here on Friday the 11th of December. Given it was a vegan restaurant, at the start of the meal I specifically asked the waitress if she could alert us to any item that we may order that could contain cashews or pistachios as I have an allergy. The waitress told us with certainty that they do not use those nuts at all in any dishes for allergy reasons specifically.Unfortunately when we asked if there was a dessert she might recommend, the strawberry cheesecake that was suggested did in fact contain Cashews. I ran to the kitchen and asked, and they said it was nut free. When I pulled the waitress aside and stressed to her to double check, she returned to inform us that the dish contained Cashews. What’s worse is that in the moments that followed:• No staff member asked if I was ok at any point, in particular the manager who was quite rude to the table.• No staff member offered to call an ambulance.• No staff member offered to accompany me to the nearest pharmacy, just to make sure I was ok, given the incident had occurred inside the restaurant.• No staff member took my details in order to follow up post the incident.• Neither the kitchen, nor the wait-staff were aware of any nuts being present in dishes, even after they were directly asked (which should have at least caused them to check and confirm)• The manager, as far as we were told, elected to stay at the other establishment to ‘count money’ in the critical minutes where a response was needed and the situation was escalating.• When the manager finally did arrive, he was abrasive and rude, rather than dealing with the issue in a manner of which you would expect any normal restaurant to. It was also post 10pm meaning he wasn’t present during the actual operating hours. As you can imagine, not only was this experience very alarming as a patron of Ladybird, but the majority of actions from staff demonstrated a combination of negligence and incompetence that could have very easily led to a more severe scenario playing out.To make matters worse, the manager provided me with the owner’s email address and business card. I contacted the owner the following Monday and to this day (Feb 1st) I still have not received a response.
Frittata was the star of the show. Very cute decor. Overpriced mimosa.
Fun atmosphere in a funky place with great and varied vegan food. Service was extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful for our group of 6. Note that they only serve wine, beer and other low-proof spirits.
The menu is not super modern, but it is delicious. Yet another wonderful Overthrow Hospitality place.
Delicious plant-based restaurant with hip decor (be sure to check out the bathroom!). The cocktails are really outstanding!! 🍹I love that the food is vegetable-centric and not necessarily trying to imitate non-vegan dishes. The beets and mushroom toast were my favorite dishes that I ordered. Went here for my anniversary dinner with my significant other and they gave us dessert on the house. Great, friendly service! Definitely recommend trying this place if youre vegan.
Great vegan food. A little pricey, but hey its in EV and compared to many other places its fine.
Made a last minute reservation for 10 (!!), and the staff was super nice, accommodating, and understanding. Amazing food, ambiance and drinks. Cannot recommend highly enough, although don’t be silly like us a book at the last second 😅
Went there on a date with my husband and had many dishes but some where better than others. We enjoyed the kale caesar salad, the mushrooms in the salad where amazing. The corn ribs where tasty and we liked the idea of it but would have added a little more flavor to it. I had the banh me toast…. Did not finish it… did not like the combination of flavors. My husband had general tso cauliflower and loved it !!!
Amazing place! Great tapas and drinks. The bathroom looks amazing ! Just a nice setting for a an evening out
Mistake buns were my favorite but everything was delicious. Friendly staff. Very covid safe establishemnet. Everyone was social distancing.
Really cute! Gf and I stopped here for drinks the other night and managed to get the small L bench table in the front corner which was intimateto sit at. They were out of glasses of bubbly but I had the Sauvignon Blanc which was reasonable. gf had the House Sparrow which had a nice ting of cucumber and was very refreshing. Will certainly be back!
Amazing food, even better service. we came here after a race and they were SO kind and accommodating. can’t wait to come back!special shout-out to our server robby and the host for making our day :)
Flavorful bites, which were creatively crafted for this charming atmosphere. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and Im absolutely dying to go back. Order the buns, the corn, and the cauliflower toast.
Everything on the menu here is vegan, but even as an omnivore I didnt feel like I was missing out. Everything we ate was spectacularly done, from the bao to the brussel sprouts and everything in between. Im not usually in the market for something vegan, but this is now on my list of favorites!
My friend and I went to brunch here. The vegan food selection and cocktails are amazing!!!!
Im not vegan, and I absolutely LOVED this restaurant. We ordered way more than we thought wed need... completely devoured every dish, left full and happy.
Excellent vegan restaurant! The four different dishes we tired where all full of flavors. Most of the dishes can be made/are gluten free as well. Service staff was a bit in a hurry, and try to sit as far as possible from the entrance door in the cold winter season.
Food was great, loved the decor!
Portion sizes are very small for the price. We went elsewhere after dining here.Food was ok however definitely not worth the price.I was looking forward to this restaurant but left very disappointed. Please be aware - the portion sizes are small.Service was ok.Unfortunately will not be recommending or visiting again.
Really good food and service
Being able to eat everything on the menu, what a godsend. To the caliber served at Ladybird, even better. Really enjoyed the bao’s, my favorite was the po boy. The KFC (crispy broccoli) was also a fan favorite. Chocolate fondue for dessert is a must so make room. The cocktails were really cool and fancy! Paper straws 🙌
Its a gem in the east village. Delicious food and fantastic service. Love the ambiance too. Perfect for a date. Catch up with a friend at the bar and enjoy their cocktails. Or go late night for the dessert.
Everything from the delicious food to the spectacularly quaint music, this is my new favorite spot. Deliciously vegan, beautiful atmosphere and comfortable staff are only the obvious stand outs at lady bird but their nuanced details and character make it so special.
This place was dope. The best items on the late night menu was the Mac and cheese balls and mozzarella sticks. We ordered one of everything! The desserts we got were strawberry cheesecake and peanut butter chocolate mousse... yum!!!!!!!!! So gooooood!!!!! Thanks guys!!!!!
Horrible customer service!! I was on hold for 32 minutes to speak with reservations and no one answered. I finally arrived and the manager Julia said they’re doing something for Easter and there’s no walk ins. The website says nothing! She didn’t seem to care at all.
The service and the food here (and music!!) were phenomenal! We arrived just before the kitchen closed and were served by Brianna, who was very kind and patient, as well as the lovely guy behind the bar! Highly recommend Ladybird, especially with the late night staff!
Most dishes (except the eggplant, which tasted phoned in, just something youd get at any red sauce italian joint) are delicious, and the place has a nice atmosphere with attentive service. The ordering system is neat, you check dishes on the actual menu, which avoids misunderstandings and speeds things up.
I did not like anything. The service was good but I did not like any of the food. I couldn’t even it. I left hungry
Lovely balanced atmosphere with inviting glass, brass, and green velvet decor coupled with equally balanced and textured vegan fare. A real gem in a neighborhood I hadnt been to in far too many years.
Nice vegetarian spin to The Bourgeois Pig, preserving a fondue classic and adding several great vegetarian tapas style dishes. Try the raw beets, saffron rissoto and mushroom dishes. Plenty of variety and good service.
Everything we ordered was delicious and we couldnt believe the fondue was vegan. Our server was very friendly and helpful making suggestions for our party of four.
Came here in winter during COVID and it was great. The food was incredible, but they also managed to keep the atmosphere alive and keep everyone warm! Looking forward to going back.
The Bao buns were the best Ive ever had and Im from Vancouver!!! I wasnt even hungry because Id just woke up but I finished my partners plate as well. The potatoes were so light and perfect, how do you make a potato that good!We sat outside where I had the perfect view of my love under a pink umbrella to protect us from the sun and I kept having to ask her if this was all real and if our plane didnt crash on our way here. The servers were lovely. I think I died.
Cool tapas bar with a vegan menu. Enjoyed the ceviche, buffalo maitake buns and KFB (tempura friend broccoli). All of them were tasty.
The food is ridiculously priced for what it is and its portion sizes. I literally paid $20 for a meal and ended up so hungry I had to get something else as soon as I left. The person at the door was rude and seemed way too stressed, creating an uncomfortable vibe. She seated us at the bar because we didn’t have a reservation, which is understandable. However, when I saw people leaving and noticed that half of the restaurant was empty while the bar chairs were super uncomfortable, I asked nicely again if we could be seated at a table. She replied, “Unless you want to eat and be done in less than 15 minutes, you can’t sit there” Like, really? Just say no in a nice way. For some reason they brought my partner dish first, and they took around 10 more minutes to bring mine, instead of bringing both together. That was also annoying. The girl at the bar was extremely lovely and somewhat saved the experience. But still would not recommend at all. The food is also not balanced, most of the dishes don’t have any type of vegan protein. Some do, but most don’t. 06/20/24
I dream of the buffalo buns! Ladybird will always be one of my faves.
This is one of my fav places in NYC for vegan food. Never experienced anything negative so far. Drinks are perfect and food is beyond expectations.
The lady speaks! Incredible environment, a great place to just take it all in as the food comes and the wine flows!
Definitely need a reservation for this place as it is very popular and totally worth it. Amazing for those who are not vegan as well. Definitely recommend the wine based cocktails as well.
One of the best vegan places.need to try the bao
Great food, good vibes, excellent staff.I left feeling supremely satisfied. 👍👍
Good vibes only! 100% vegan tapas style menu. The eggplant was definitely the highlight of the meal!
Never know vegetarian food can be this delicious!
Im vegan and I was excited about this place but it the service was truly bad and the food waaaaaay too pricey for what you get. I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and it tasted cheap.
Really cool atmosphere but wine or vermouth only no hard liquor
Nice decor. Food was OK. Lighting was terrible. I know candles are for ambiance but 2 tea lights for an entire table is too dark for our little group.
Service was just okay. Front door wouldn’t stay closed so I was freezing. But. Food was great. Pretty straight forward veggie basEd dishes. Nothing too avant-garde. Ambience is dark, good for date night. space is roomier than most east village spots.
So so so so good. Like ridiculously good. Everyone is nice there too :) I got the eggplant
Omg. Omg. So delicious, such a beautiful space. My family had a wonderful time here and vegans and non-vegans were happy!
Amazing food, great service, great atmosphere, great drinks.
A great vegan spot! The team was very accommodating for the birthday celebration we hosted there. They created a pre fix menu which included their large format drinks which made for a fun party experience. Plus, even the non-vegans loved the food! Also a lovely spot to bring a date.
Such a welcoming restaurant that is all vegan. You cant beat the scrummy fondue and the baby corn small plate is a must! A jewel of a meal.
This place sucks. Really cool aesthetic and that’s about it. Menu is trash. It’s an appetizer bar don’t go here for dinner. Nothing is worth the excessive prices.
The food & service was outstanding.
FABULOUS!! Upbeat and positive vibes in the delicious vegan restaurant. Im not vegan and cant wait to taste everything on the menu. An amazing experience!!
Food 10/10. Vibes 10/10. My waiter was incredible and the host mya was so sweet. Coming back over and over again
Always blown away by the food and drinks here! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere, and the best vegan food around 😊
Robbie or Robby (sp?) was absolutely amazing as our server. Not only was the food unreal but his company and care made our whole weekend! Thank you Robby!!!!
The food was absolutely magnificent. Good food and craft cocktails take time so bring your patience and youll be rewarded greatly.
Food was not good. Service was not good either. Did not ask once how everything was. They have a weird notation on the website regarding the bowl. Cost $64 for a drink with wine and juice. Do not go here
This is a great restaurant. Yes it’s vegan but none of the people in our party of 5 is vegan (one is a pescatarian, the rest of us will eat anything) but we would all come back here again. We ordered and shared more than 2/3 of the menu (11 out of 17 items with two of the maitake buns). My favorites were, yes, the maitake buns, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes. Others also raved about the soup served with the grilled cheese, the avocado, and the spring pea toast, The fondue was really the only item that I though was meh, and that could be because it arrived last after we were already stuffed. We topped off the meal with both a dessert flight and chocolate fondue. We totally over ordered but it was so delicious, there were no regrets! The drinks looked beautiful but I was curious to try the hard seltzer and it was presented beautifully and was as refreshing as I’d heard described.I started out taking photos (the potatoes and kale Caesar, which were delicious too!) but was too into the food and didn’t keep it up.
Very good food for vegans. Not everything is great but Im not a vegan so perhaps I have different expectations. I was impressed by the eggplant dish.
Couldn’t even tell that everything was vegan here!! Make sure to save room for the chocolate fondue dessert at the end!!
We loved Ladybird. Yummy vegan food for a wonderful night out with the family. Made reservations well in advance. Very nice ambiance, clean and service was great. Food was unique and delicious. Would go here again when back in the city.
AMAZEBALLS is truly the first word that comes to mind.Decor: delightfully fun. The bar has the roomiest stools ever!Service: warm, friendly, courteous and engaging.Noise level: adequate for a conversation.Food: YUMMM! Seriously every single dish was delicious. We ordered 4 dishes and the Sundae, which is ridiculously delectable. Be warned, it is large and definitely a share for up to 3 people with plenty to go around.Availability: I definitely recommend you make a reservation. We took our chance and were able to get a table at an early time but this place is so good I wouldn’t chance, in the future, not being able to get in.
