Was really excited for tapas but it was kind of disappointing... There isnt a proper kitchen so felt the dishes werent to expectations of the price. Plus, the whole place just smelt like garlic. The wine and sangria was good though!

Very small place. Food is ok. Paella was not what I expected, disappointed. Sangria was not strong at all. Tapas were good, service was good, the 2 staff members were good. Not a real kitchen to cook. More like a hot plate where the bar is and for their prices, you would expect a proper kitchen. Would I go again or recommend, probably not.

Lamano Chelsea deserves more stars. I am blown away by the exceptional customer service, delicious food and intimate restaurant design.I held an event here and everyone with the company went above and beyond to make sure it was impeccable. Kristian, Charlie (our host/server for the evening) and the staff were phenomenal, extremely communicative and very easy throughout the event. I applaud them! The food was delicious, well-timed and fed our group perfectly. The croquettes and seafood paella were the top for me. The wines and selection of alcohol was more than adequate. Its safe to say with the amount of thank you texts and compliments of the restaurant that I received, that our entire party had a great time and will be back! Los Cintron, our band, was equally thrilled with the restaurant and happy to make the celebration extra special.I could not have dreamt of a better experience.Go here.

Yes, the food is Ok. But the noise is terrible, so loud you cannot hear your friends. There was a dancer. Nice try, but just more noise. And to top it off, a full glass of coke fell on my daughter, because the waiter made a mistake. They were sorry, but had no sympathie for the kid. Accidents happen, but please be sincere and show compassion instead of asking us to understand how you feel.

Had meat, cheese, olive platter + pimientos and wine. All tasted excellent, 5 stars for that. (Creme Catalan dessert was ok.)Service good but slightly harder than it should have been to get out order taken and get our bill, was Saturday eve though.Had no reservation so sat at the bar which was fine but its a shame the bar top doesnt come out a bit more so there would be somewhere to put your knees.

My companion and I were looking to get out of a panel after a movie screening at the nearby SVA theater. We looked at the map to see what was available in the area and Lamano was one of the options. Im not sure why we chose it in the end but it may have been simply because we were already walking in its direction. Im glad we did!The place was small but in every facet packed a punch. Whomever designed the interior knew what they were doing. There is well placed mirror that makes the place look twice as big. Its a really good design trick! Because of the size of the place the tables (all High Tops) are close together. So be forewarned that you might get a little closer than usual to your fellow diners. In fact, you may have to share tables. The kitchen is tiny and pretty much in full view. Remarkably, that small kitchen puts out some pretty awesome dishes. It makes sense that their menu is filled with a lot of tapas options. We ordered several dishes. I liked all but one (a cold bread based dish that I cant recall at the moment). Other than that, my only other dislike was the Strawberry Cider. I think next time Ill stick with the regular cider but dont take my word for it. Try it yourself!Bottom line: You should definitely visit! Just be ready for cozy quarters and avoid the cold tapas dishes. Youll love it!

Went there for brunch, place was cold. The guy working was so slow, it took forever to get coffee and it was cold. We asked for hot milk and he brought back warm milk. The place smelled. There was no one there and it was Sunday brunch, that should have been a huge sign. We cut our losses and paid for the coffee and left. Will not be back again. Maybe dinner, but brunch is a joke.

Mediocre at best. Gambas al Ajillo, typically a reliable standby on tapas menus, had no noticeable garlic or oil and a strong taste of soy sauce (I am not kidding). Croquetas were creamy but had little flavor. Salad was fine but completely different ingredients than on the menu and overpriced for what it was. Pickled mussels indistinguishable from canned. Roasted artichokes were reasonably tasty but again overpriced. Overall pretty much any other tapas place in the city will be better.

After a recommendation from a friend, I was really excited to try Lamano in our neighborhood for a late brunch yesterday. We walked in at 1:45PM, and our first impression was it a was a small, but cute/lively restaurant. After standing for 5 minutes without being greeted, we sat at the two open spots at the bar (there were 3 open tables, but none had been cleared). The woman chef behind the bar looked up at us twice, but did not greet or really aknowledge us. Finally, 15 minutes after we sat, the other guy working appeared and said that he would be right with us. 5 minutes later, and 20 minutes in (without even water), the guy server came over and asked us what we wanted and we placed our order. 10 minutes later we sat looking around and realized that even the 3 available tables still hadnt even been cleared .. we decided it probably would take a really long time to get our food. I went up to the server, and asked if he had put our order into the system, he said no. At that point I told him politley wed like to cancel our order. He looked surprised, and just said OK.At no point was I rude, but the bottom line is there are SO many places to eat in NYC, even if youre slammed you can be honest and tell your customers, and just let them know youll be with them and help them as soon as possible. Not treat them like they are inconveniencing you when youre clearly under staffed. I will say the food DID look good that came out to other tables.

This meal was very average. I came with a buddy of mine for a quick dinner and drinks. The papas bravas and sangria were good, but the rest of the meal was eh. The garlic shrimp (usually a favorite of mine) was just ok. The spinach croquettes tasted like hush puppies and the spanish omelet was way overdone. Overall, not a bad spot to meet friends for apps and a drink, but I wouldnt go here for fine dining.

A small quaint tapas spot with great staff and tasty food. I came with my one year old to catch up with friends, and although they had no high-chairs for kids, the waitress ran to the restaurant next door and borrowed one. The gambas (shrimp) was in a tasty broth, which was perfect for dippping bread, the croquetas were tasty and crisp, and sangria was not too sweet and refreshing.

If you enjoy mediocre food at top of the line prices, being lied to when ask after a key ingredient listed on the menu is obviously missing from the dish, using a bathroom thats so dark its scary (and I say that as someone who frequents gay bars), and having a gratuity of greater than 20% automatically added to your check, no matter the size of your party, then this might be the place for you.
