Delicious tapas, great atmosphere, amazing cocktails and vermouth! A must-visit🔥
Came for a quick dinner with a friend and we were impressed. Their tapas were great — highly recommend the razor clams on toast. Also loved their cheesecake for dessert.
Great brunch focused on Spanish cuisine in the LES, good food and phenomenal drinks on a weekend 🙌 our server Winnie was amazing and deserves a raise 🙌
Excellent food and the nicest staff! They were very accommodating and made my birthday extra special! The pulpo was perfectly cooked and the basque cheecake was heavenly! Great vermouth as well. Everyone absolutely loved it.
We stopped by for a couple of drinks (the sangria didnt have much to do with the real sangria, but thats ok) and my bf left a tip. It was maybe not as big as usual as he didnt have much cash left and we wanted to get rid of our leftover cash before traveling back to our home country, but it was still something. But the (tall brunette) waiter didnt think so, didnt even say thank you nor goodbye. And even when we left our table and said goodbye to her as we were passing her she completely ignored us and didnt even look at us. This left an extremely bad taste in our mouths and ruined the whole experience.
10/10 The exquisite food and the attention of the best the drink is Wooww and the super rich food the only thing I dont like were the very salty cod croquettes.
A really nice new addition to Dimes square! The sangria was really good and the tapas were solid. Service seemed a little chaotic but totally fine given its a small space on a busy Friday night. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and its a great option for the neighborhood
Went there tonight with former co-workers and a co-workers boyfriend. Wonderful ,cozy place. Good menu. Excellent service. Food was delicious! I recommend it. Unfortunately we couldnt wait to dig in so plates are incomplete. We also shared dessert. The San Sebastián Cheesecake. Creamy center, burnt exterior, wild Amerena cherries. 5 of us shared it. Next visit I get my own piece! Awesome dessert!
Really sweet spot, amazing atmosphere with the most delicious bites and drinks! The staff and owner were really friendly and attentive. Had the loveliest time and can’t wait to go back!
Sat at bar and enjoyed red wine and vermouth paired with falda a la pancha and cheesecake. Izzy the bartender was so kind and very knowledgeable. I had a wonderfully pleasant time solo dining. Thank you so much!
Stopped in on a random Sunday night and was blown away! The food is all incredibly flavorful and portioned well. Great selection of wines and vermouth with incredible service from Gigi. Will definitely be back!
Came here for drinks before dinner at the bar, but wish we had stayed for an entire meal. The vermut list and drinks are to die for. The tapas we had were some of the best (including in Spain), especially the pan con tomate. And the Basque cheesecake! The best I’ve ever had.Service was also amazing, we got the cheesecake free because we were asked to move down one spot. Totally not necessary but oh so welcome.Wish I lived around the corner.
Great place, very good food and drinks. My friends and I had a great time here. We really recommend this place. Definitely coming back.
Food was superb. The Basque cheesecake was the best cheesecake I ever ate! And that means a lot coming from a septuagenarian Italian New Yorker!
Drinks are great but food is really special.
My new fav tapas bar! Their vermouth selection is great; the dishes are excellent and combines the right flavors and textures. The cheesecake is also mindblowing - no pictures because I was long done with it by the time I remembered to take a photo.
A truly great, casual, and authentic Spanish tapas bar. Lovely service, delish food and a great happy hour. Highly recommend (and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually post reviews). Excited to return!
This was a great brunch.Love the coziness and the little bar in the backThis cozy spot is dishing out really great food. Everything we had was fantastic! Especially the Huevos horneados and pulpo! The events that led to this meal really set it up for success… we fostered a dog and found someone to adopt her that came to pick her up tonight! We only decided to go out to eat last minute as a celebratory thing.Carlota looked great from the outside and we were able to sit right away. After we left, we decided it was a poor experience for three reasons:1. Prices are just too high. Going out to eat has come to paying 7 dollars for 23 potato chips, 8 dollars for 5 olives, 12 for freakin pan con tomate? It’s not that people are not capable of affording that, it’s that you’re not getting what you pay for. And I know it’s not easy for you restaurant owners…. You too are victims of the same system, I get it. The revolution is coming, I feel…2. We were run the wrong food 4 different times. Not the end of the world, just a little embarrassing for a place that clearly wants to be held in high regard. I guess what is strange was that there was never a courteous apology after that, any of those 4 times.. which is just weird I guess.3. I had a glass of water spilled on me, a full one. Which is no reason to dislike or shit talk a restaurant. Accidents are a totally forgivable thing… IF, there is some kind compensation for that accident. I’m sorry, but decent food isn’t the only thing that gets people to come back to your restaurant. If you dump a glass of water on a customer (which again, is not the end of the world, but soaking wet pants and crotch are legitimate night-ruiners), you do everything you can to try and get that customers night back to some level of comfort, whatever that means. All we got were some extra napkins. Oh and a glass of wine that for a few minutes we thought was managements idea of a kind gesture, until we realized they had just delivered it to the wrong table again haha.I’m sure many if not most of the people who dine at Carlota have a nice time, and I’m not trying to direct people away from the place. The food is good, and the vibe is cool. However, I feel it’s constructive to mention when a restaurant fails to do the bare minimum, that’s all. The jamon croquetas are fire!
Stopped by for a few drinks and I loved it! I had the orange wine and it was very good. Fantastic food (get the bacalao croquetas!) and even better service, Cortina our server was very attentive and friendly! Great service!! We’ll be back!
Great cocktails, fresh oysters
This place is awesome . I would have given it 5* if the mushroom croquettes would have been on the menu
Every dish that came out was even better than the last. Service was incredible. Will definitely be coming back!
Fun to try lots of dishes!
Very busy but not sure what the hype is about. the food was okay, some items we ordered were a miss
In order of the things we got and liked the most: Croquetas de bacalao, Pulpo, Toritlla, patatas bravas. However, all 4 were great. Way way better than little Spain. My Spanish girlfriend Emma approves
Bad service all around. Was charged for things we didn’t like and didn’t drink. Seating was terrible and they refused to move us from right in front of the door. And refused to close the door even though people were cold. Portions were tasty but small (even for tapas).
Octopus was amazing, better than what i had in spain. service was weirdly slow for our table (only table when it opened). good happy hour prices so would come back for that but would prefer other tapas spots before this one
Really enjoyed the food and the service was great. Had a really nice dinner here. Highly recommended.
Excellent new tapas spot in the LES. Food is amazing, service is on point. Music is nice and authentic but could be a touch lower. Fantastic experience, and perhaps the best cheesecake Ive ever eaten. Will be back, and soon!
This is a perfect tapas restaurant (menu and quality of food), amazing sangria, great service, and chill vibe!!!
Everything was incredibly delicious perfect LES atmosphere we will be coming regularsSpecial shout out to Emily and Liz - you both are incredible and the restaurant is lucky to have you! See you both again soon xxx
A great spot in the LES but it is noticeable that it’s still a rather new restaurant.Mushroom croquetas were great but the parmiggiano reggiano foam was a tad watery and not really needed - it didn’t really add anything to the great croquetas. The octopus was alright - but could have done with a bit more seasoning.Cod - absolutely lovely.Lamb 10/10.Drinks innovative and great.Lots of potential.
Every tapas plate was as amazing as the vermouth cocktail. Great new Spanish spot!
Excessive costs for a tapas tasting. Very good products.
This place has great food, service, and entertainment.
Such a cute spot!!!
10/10!!
