Tudor City Steakhouse

Wow! Just wow! We made our reservation on a whim 15 minutes before walking in. We were just expecting a normal dinner with no frills, and the menu looked good, so decided to try it out. Did I say wow!? From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the warmest staff and felt like royalty the entire time. We ordered oysters to start, and each decided on our own steaks. My husband got the veal, and I ordered the ribeye. When I say this was the best Pittsburgh steak I have ever had, I mean it and do not take it lightly. Luis took incredible care and concern to ensure our whole night was perfect. I cannot express enough the level of service we received. If you are even considering coming here, please do!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had!! This place is amazing from start to finish. We sat outside on their beautiful patio in what seemed to be perfect weather. The restaurant was playing a relaxing jazz across the speakers which made for a lovely ambiance.Our server was friendly and made us feel so cared for. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked. The waiter kindly sliced the steak and plated it for us. Followed by the wonderful sides (mashed potatoes). After enjoying our wonderful meal, we were surprised with a fantastic slice of chocolate mousse cake and a raspberry drizzle.I can’t wait to return!

I recently visited this incredible steakhouse in New York, and I was blown away by the experience. The atmosphere was perfect—elegant yet comfortable, making it ideal for a special night out. Every bite was just as good as the last. First time here I am from Dallas Texas. I loved New York. We will be back it was our anniversary. So please come out enjoy great food. I ate a big piece of meat and the salmon amazing two bottles one was a bottle of Prosecco and a bottle of moscato. The drinks were marvelous outside seating. You can catch the best view. It was just a great place for our 1 year anniversary. Thank you Tutor city steakhouse in NYC for having us. You all are amazing we will be back.

Excellent food and the staff is very attentive.Nice ambience, with soft live music in the background, and romantic lighting. Mirso, the owner oversees every part of the operation, with a smile on his face. They never disappoint!It doesn’t get better than this!

Bad service, mediocre food, overpriced. 1) Just because I was alone they served me two slice of bread. 2) The menu doesn’t tell you how much oysters you get from one order. I didn’t notice before I ordered, so when I got 6, I asked my server about it. He said “how many do you want?” “I worked for different restaurants and no one ask.” and “It’s not my job to ask you how many do you want.” :) crazy 3) The clams are delicious, it worth one star. But I was spitting the broken shells of the clams every bite! 4) and my for my main dish I had a filet mignon 12oz, we need to redefine 1oz

Had a fantastic dinner here to end the night! The atmosphere was incredible, the food was mouth watering and the service was unreal! Had the veal chop for the first time and it came out perfect. Luis was a remarkable server and this’ll be a good memory to carry back home 🙌

I ordered the filet, mac and cheese, and creamed truffle corn. The filet with the truffle butter was amazing, and the corn was the best I have had! The espresso martini was also great! Luis was an awesome server! Highly recommend!

Excellent location, service and food quality.Had the onion soup, the Porterhouse for two, asparagus, mushrooms and the baked potato, apple cobbler and a few espresso Martinis to finish.Conveniently located in the heart of Tudor city, walking distance to GCT, United Nations.Dont forget to check the view from. The 42nd street overpass, right across the street.

Daniella had great customer service. Took care of us on our last dinner in NYC. Happy hour has great drinks and bar bites to choose from. Stop by and check it out for yourself you won’t be disappointed!

Hidden gem. Neighborhood steakhouse off the beaten path. Food is as good as in the big name steak houses. The Canadian bacon appetizer was delicious

We had a wonderful time at the Tudor City steakhouse. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. They had live music and they do happy hour all day. The filet minon was quite good and our waiter was kind enough to let us try each of the sauces. We will definitely be returning.

Great happy hour - thoroughly enjoyed the service. Went back for anniversary. Was perfection. Sammy was extremely attentive and engaging. Food was yummy and very reasonably priced for Manhattan steakhouse.---went back for Valentines Day and my birthday. Luis is the consummate professional-- he made us feel so special !!!! I think the steak missed the mark by a mile. The steak was burnt and tasted burnt. The meat was under seasoned. Meat was tough as well maybe because it’s a huge cut of meat.There was a guy singing in the middle of the restaurant and I didn’t mind I guess but we were in the middle of eating and he wanted us to sing along as well. Just generally uncomfortable I guess.Service was normal. Not fast nor slow but rarely came to check up on us.Bring your money somewhere else.

The dine-in experience was fantastic. The filet mignon, salmon, and crab cake are some of my favorite items on the menu. The service is very hands-on and accommodating and there’s been live music every time we’ve come here. All in all, a 10/10 spot!

My family and I have a birthday dinner on 12/20/24. The food was ok but part of the order (Mac and cheese) did not come out with the meal. It took about an additional 20 mins to get the Mac N Cheese. Also, I wanted the Hot Chocolate (on the web menu) it was not available and the server did not attempt to ask the bartender. The service was okay but at times it felt like the server was annoyed by us. I had a party of 9 and expected better for the money I was paying.

Probably the best steakhouse and service in Manhattan! The waiters and service was exceptional. I am so pleased that we were taken care of. The drinks are very good of course!

First, it’s interesting that the many 5* reviewers recently posted have 3 reviews or less. Makes you wonder.First the good stuff. The room is quite nice, sort of a throwback to an old school steakhouse in a lovely 1930s-ish building. Flowers on every table. Paintings. Nice linens. If you like this kinda thing, there’s a piano player who sings lounge music (loudly). I asked to be seated as far away as possible.We received a $25 coupon code (if you spend $75 or more before tax & tip) from visiting the Field of Light nearby. We were hungry so we gave it a shot. I had a $15 cocktail that was pretty good. We both got burgers, around $26 each. Mine was one of the worst burgers I ever had. I asked for medium rare and I got well done. Why even ask? Fries were ok. We shared a wedge salad to start. The staff kindly split it in the kitchen for us. It was also ok. Regarding service, it was attentive and professional until it seemed the waiter realized we were not going to be a sizable check, then it had a hint of hostility and became less professional.

The ribeye was FANTASTIC!! One of the best pieces of meat I’ve ever had! The chili burger was also really good.The service was good, but felt forced and the servers seemed uncomfortable.

Cozy but elegant steakhouse with great steak, wine and amazing service. From the moment we walked in, we felt very welcomed and well taken care of. I went on a Saturday night and they had a one-person band playing the guitar and singing Frank Sinatra classics. It’s a great place for a date night, and for family dinners as well. The steak was cooked very well and according to our preference. Overall, a great steakhouse!

Our server, Luis Enrique was so nice! He was patient and very welcoming- did an amazing job! We had the Salmon and mashed potatoes, nothing special and the lobster rosette had small shell and fine bone… but the porterhouse steak was a good portion with the spinach. Dessert was the tasty raspberry sorbet. They even plated our sides for us. Such a nice atmosphere with amazing service!!

Location is secluded and spacious. Went during happy hour. Their red wine was a Cabernet Sauvignon from Spain which wasnt my favorite. I tried their United Nations cocktail which was very strong in the lemon flavor over elderflower so I didnt like it either. The guacamole and chips lacked in seasoning and they only gave 8 or 10 chips. The fries were deliciously hot and thick and well seasoned. Highly recommend the fries!

We ordered medium ribeyes. Steaks had a good sear, and the portion size was big 25 oz. However, the steaks were underseasoned and quite chewy. As someone who cooks steaks at home, I was quite disappointed at the quality that the steakhouse was serving.Wait staff did not feel very welcoming and felt quite standoffish. They also quite ignorantly said konichiwa and ni hao just because we were asian.Did not like this experience

The steak was good which was why I am giving two stars. The other food was TERRIBLE. the lobster bisque was stale and had an almost dirty towel like smell. The lasagna was bland, no one finished anything and we did not brave the dessert. The lobster risotto got pushed around the plate. The service was just OK. I was really disappointed because this place has good reviews.

The pianist and singer, Bill, made our night extremely entertaining. Luis, the waiter was so accommodating. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends 🥂🎼

Sat outside on a beautiful fall evening. The onion soup was very good. The ribeye was huge and we split it. The creamed corn was to die for. The service was some of the best I’ve had in NYC. They even brought a complimentary dessert.

Andres was warm and welcoming as soon as I arrived. He suggested a signature cucumber martini that was shaken to perfection and was followed by an equally perfect lobster cocktail. I can’t wait to return!

This place is a gem. Located by the beautiful east river, our server Georgi and manager made our friday night very special. We had a party of 3 with outdoor heated seating and great privacy and space. The menu was wonderful in the sense that you can share practically anything and they made a porterhouse for 3 with both rib eye cuts and medium to well done on each side so everyone got exactly what they wanted for only $52 a head. They even cut the thick juicy bacon appetizer for us 3, I didn’t even know I would like horseradish sauce until I tried theirs! The fried calamari was fantastic - the rings were crispy with good batter and the marinara sauce was fresh with a nice spicy kick. The wine list is also huge and their lemondrops do not disappoint! They made them with minimal sugar and they were not stingy on shots . The server was so friendly, attentive and knew the menu very well with how to pair accordingly with drinks and sauces. They even heated up the sides ( creamed spinach and thick cut fries were to die for) several times with no problems ( we loved this place so much we sat over 3 hours!). The steak was juicy well seasoned with perfect cuts and the peppercorn sauce we ordered was fresh; the manager himself delivered it to us. I also was so happy that the restaurant gave us complimentary champagne when they found out we were engaged couple, very sweet and caring. PS the nyc cheesecake does not disappoint- the graham crust was perfect in texture and the cheesecake was thick with yummy strawberries and cream . The coffee here is also strong just the way I like it: for all this amazing food drinks dessert and topnotch service at only $400 this place cant be beat. Only thing that holds me back from 5 stars is that each side is ala carte as opposed to being included with your meat; they probably can invent a dish that includes everything together.

We’ve come here a few times now as a family with young kids and it’s definitely become our place of choice;While the restaurant is geared towards white-tablecloth steak house service, we were particularly impressed by how kid friendly the staff is.The place is amazing with indoor and outdoor seating options year round.The staff who cared for us (Louis and Alfonso to name only two) are sure to meals you feel welcome.

My husband & I came to Tudor City at the last minute with a party of 15 for our wedding celebration. Luigi, Alexandra, and Alfonso provided us with great service. They were very pleasant and attentive. The food is delicious and the hot passion is the best drink on the menu! The restaurant is very classy and beautifully arranged. I wanted to love this place. They were very nice when we came in as it was our first time. Everything went well and the pricing and food was commensurate with steakhouses in New York City, but certainly nothing special. My problem is that there was an “operating fee” (see pic). It was not disclosed advance and could not be explained clearly by the waiter. I’ve been living in the city for 40 years and I’ve never seen this before. It’s unfortunate because it’s a nice neighborhood kind of place but I won’t be going back.

Drinks were not good. We ordered an old fashioned - too sweet and tasted like what you would get at a dive bar.Food was also not good. Lobster bisque had an assortment of seafood that did not taste fresh. The steak was underwhelming - undercooked and fatty.The bill also included multiple restaurant and processing fees (beware, there is also a credit card fee).

Seems to be a nice restaurant at first view but the quality of the food is severely lacking. We had the Cesar salad, French onion soup, NY Strip, and mac n cheese. The salad and soup were fine, but nothing to rave over. The steak was one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. The meat was so tough, tons of tendons and fat-terrible cut of meat for the price. So much of it was completely inedible, and very under seasoned. The mac n cheese was incredibly dry and also lacked any seasoning. The decor is a mishmash of old and new and is not appealing, the faux plants and extra decor items just sitting around is not aesthetically pleasing. I felt this was a huge waste of time and money, would have loved to spend $200 elsewhere for a good meal in the city. Major disappointment.

This restaurant is breaking the law by charging a 4% credit card fee at the end. Can’t do that anymore guys. Gotta put the higher prices on the menu inclusive of credit card fees.Food: ordered ribeye, sirloin, potatoes and truffle cream corn. Sirloin was good. ribeye was meh. Mashed potatoes were a little bland. Cream corn was ok but gritty.Service: The best thing was the service. The waiters were very attentive. The way they took the food out and placed it on our plate was very thoughtful. Always filled up our water. The staff is amazing.Atmosphere: interior was nice. Piano guy played a few sour notes but it was nice to have him.Overall the food wasn’t anything to write home about. I would rather go down the block to Capitol Grille where the prices are the same but the food is way better.

I go many often this place cause the food quality and the great location cross street to NU and the best view of 42nd Street Manhattanhenge and the landscaped grounds Tudor City Greens looking like part of a great mansion at 1st Ave. And 42nd St. Owner is walking around always greeting you. I will go again and again with pretty fashion models as always. On COVID season they have a nice outside tables with electric heaters.

Absolutely amazing quiet and intimate setting for my girlfriends birthday, food was amazing and the staff went above in beyond in every way possible. Couldnt recommend a better place to go!

The restaurant interior is chic, charming and an old New York vibe. They have live music and the most hospitable stuff working here. Absolutely recommend. My local neighborhood go-to for a nice, relaxing, sit-down dining experience. Food has always been good, and the staff is super friendly and efficient. Staff really goes above and beyond in service. Dined with my elderly mother who walks with a cane and when she needed to use the restroom, arms were extended to help guide her. Now, thats little things you cant teach. Had the Porterhouse Steak for Two...which did not disappoint. Like it rare, so it was so tender and juicy. Always leftovers for a nice steak and egg Brunch the next day. All day Happy Hour at the Bar area a major plus.

2 years later & Sadly this place still lacks a lot of taste & presentation. They need big help with everything. Over price for what it is.The wedge salad was awful. Horrible blue cheese, served on a warm lettuce & regular bacon. Not lardons. The vegetarian lagsna was bad. Carrots & eggplant only & the steak was flavorless & The onion truffle butter was not great. The stake sauce was straight up ketchup or BBQ sauce. The baked potato was just sad.Waitress was very nice.Nothing has changed from 2 years ago. Read bellow.We were just there yesterday and we are happy to see it get some customers. We like to support our community however, lets be honest about it. I have to admit that , taking in consideration that just opened 1 week ago, the staff was mostly very kind yet need more training. The food was ok. Given the prices, they need to elevate the food presentation and that includes dish and silverware. The over all look of the restaurant is good. Lights need to be brought down. The excessive amount of plants removed. Some wood panels need to be finished. Art work needs to be hung. The Manu is a bit overwhelmingly filled with things that do not belong there, like sushi. The main & dessert menus need to be elevated to good quality ones, no paper or cheap plastic. Their buissness cards are cheap and logo cheapens the over all intent of the restaurant. We have the UN across the street. This can be a money maker but not how it is as of now. The cheap red carpet in entrance, menu and hrs of operations display is pretty bad and the plants in plastic containers just not a good look. We got the Pri Fix dinner, best value.The Apple Cobbler was very dry and had like 2 apples in it, the staff then gave us a pana cotta to replace it, much better.Our complimentary cappuccinos were very weak.We would definitely go back though, the wait staff were very helpful.

Excellent service!!! Our meals were prepared beautifully and were delicious. We loved the beet salad and crab cake appetizer. Salmon was wonderful as was the branzino special. And sides were great too. Tiramisu which was shared by 3 of us, was so light. The chef even sent out a complimentary chocolate mousse cake as well! The ambiance is so lovely. This restaurant is a hidden jewel! We’ve been here many times and will, of course, be going back again!

Luigi is amazing and the best server i have had in years. Food was on point and we went all in. Ribeye, lobster bisque, risotto, little necks, tartare, and calamari. All of it was great. And we had a great time throughout.

Diners beware, make sure to double check your bill before you pay the total printed at the bottom. When I got my check, there was an additional $10 charge listed beside the line if pay by credit card, in addition to an automatic 20% tip (which wasnt a policy on their menu, website or check). I asked the waiter to clarify and he immediately became defensive and insisted it was NYS food tax, except there was already another line for tax under the subtotal. He repeated that it was tax twice more despite my pointing out the food tax line above. Given that he obviously didnt have an answer, I left it at that and opted to pay cash instead figuring it was a credit card related tax. On my way out the door, he stopped me and accused me of not paying the entire bill. I explained to him that the amount I gave him was calculated from an 18% tip based off the food subtotal, added to the subtotal and tax. He continued to insist that it was not the total on the bill as I continued to explain to him my math, going as far as to writing it down for him. Minutes later, as it became more obvious that he didnt understand my calculations or the random charges on the bill, combined with his accusations of cheating him of his tip, I asked to speak with the manager to which he answered I AM the manager. Eventually he said he would go speak with someone else and less than two minutes later returns and dismisses me with a its fine you can go. However after all this frustration, I felt I was owed an explanation and an apology for his accusations and attitude, neither of which I received. I would have understood if he didnt know about all the components of the bill (although he should), but I did expect him to ask his supervisor to get me some clarity. Instead I was met with defensiveness and later on accusations of being a swindler. It wasnt exactly how I planned to end my Sunday family dinner. To top it all off, the service was very slow even though the restaurant was pretty empty when we ordered and the food was mediocre. By the way they DO offer free parking for dinner, contrary to what I was told over the phone the day before my reservation.If youve read this far, I normally dont post reviews on newer restaurants I feel blasé about but this waiter changed my mind.

Everything was delicious. The steak was crispy on the outside and yet juicy and soft in the middle. The lobster risotto was simple and beautiful. Excellent service—Luis was prompt and attentive and smooth. Five stars!

Came for dinner on a Thursday night after going to the Field of Light installation and had a great time. Really pleasant atmosphere with live music and excellent staff. Ordered the porterhouse at our waiters recommmendation and enjoyed a splurge date night out.

A surprisingly spacious dining room in the middle of Manhattan. I’m still shocked at how much space there is. The waitstaff are excellent and the steak is very well prepared. Just had the steak tartare as well, very good ✅

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place for my 21st birthday and George was our waiter. George was an AMAZING waiter and gave us such a great time, he was super sweet and kind and gave some awesome recommendations as well as taking the time to snap some Amazing pictures of me and my boyfriend. Simply disappointing. Far from the claim of a top restaurant. The value for money is not correct at all. The food was prepared without love, it was simple average at most. Advance cheap bread with packaged butter, no salt, pepper or oil at the table. Service didnt feel like it, didnt ask. All in all, way too expensive for food and service. Definitely not a recommendation. More seine than reality.
