I went here on my birthday and had a great experience.First time coming here so I didnt know what to expect but Im glad I found this place. The food and drinks were great and the customer service was very good, no complaints whatsoever.I will definitely come back here again for some food and drinks. Hit them up if youre in the area.

I’m all for over priced NYC drinks, but can I at least get some value for these expensive drinks? Can I get some creativity, some love and care? When I approached this place, I’m told a drink is $5, so I ask for a double, which should be a few more dollars, but instead it’s all of sudden $12 for this tiny little drink. No creativity, or anything special. Literally felt like I wasn’t even welcomed. The place was dead and felt like a dive bar, yet they want to charge $12 for a tiny drink? Yeah, don’t ever waste your time at this horrible bar. They should’ve just stayed closed during the pandemic if this is what they were gonna give to the world. I’ve been in restaurants all day and not one person has asked about the vaccination. This place is completely empty and the first thing this guy asks me is for a vaccine card, probably hoping I didn’t have one so that he could kick me out. Such a horrible establishment.

Ordered dinners through seamless (we’ve ordered here before) and they just didn’t send one of the meals. Huh? Ohhh you saw it on the ticket, and your sorry it didn’t get sent? Isn’t your one job and reason for existence serving food and drinks? What part of getting orders right don’t you get? You had one job and you failed.

This is an old school haunt for me. I was happy to see, returning 10 years later, that not much has changed. The bar is still well maintained, but the charm from the early 2000s 8s still there. The only significant change that I saw was that pool table area in the basement is now a stage. Still, it was nice place to hang out for a little while on a Saturday afternoon and talk to the friendly bartender.

By far the best dive bar in the west village! The staff are unbelievably friendly and always welcoming. The owner clearly cares a lot about this establishment and it shows in how he treats his customers. There is always a rotating selection of (great) beers! Very underpriced for this area of Manhattan. Not only that but the fries have become my favorite.Sports guy/girl? Say no more. There are dozens of TVs constantly playing current sporting events and the owner is always happy to change the channel to what you want to watch!Don’t miss this sleeper! It’s a gem

The BEST bar in the village! I’m a local and am here multiple times a week. The staff are incredibly personable & warm, there’s always a vast & delicious variety of beers on tap, and the fries are the absolute best. The owner is one of my favorite people in the world, and he always goes out of his way to make you feel remembered and special. The customer service is truly top notch, and the outstanding drinks & bar food make the experience even more amazing.I could not recommend this bar more, and hope they continue to thrive!

If you’re looking for a quick beer, and planning on standing the whole time, you should be fine. Planning on sitting in a booth? Beware. We sat there for about two hours. Got two buckets of beer from two separate waiters and some nachos. Ended up tipping $55 on a $300 and was quite literally berated for the tip by our last waitress. She made a huge deal of the “cheap tip” we made she yelled it out several times. Did we complain there was used gum in the bucket we received with bud lights in in? No. Did we mention it at the end of our evening? Yes. Had we had tipped more in the end had they had been more understanding and had our service been more consistent? Probably. But here we are

80% of the time I ADORE BSAH! Some of the bartenders are just wonderful, solid humans. I always go earlier in the week when its not a shitshow, the crowd is lovely. Came tonight, went downstairs for jazz just for 5 minutes, we were told (and paid) $20/person cover (former musician, I get it!) but 4 drunk white guys came in behind us, werent asked to pay a dime, and I feel like a complete idiot for paying--we were only there for 5 minutes, maybe 6, tops. $20/person. Im a social worker, not on wall street, so that hurt. Never been charged before that either... Oof. There has got to be a better system... Not sure if it was an off night or a newer thing or what.. Cmon guys 🙏🏽

A great experience here on a Thursday night. I went here with friends and we were able to find an empty table in the center of the bar. The selection of beers and wines are unique (I ended up getting a Montauk IPA). The service is friendly and prompt. The space is very open and the vibe less noisy and more relaxed compared to other bars in the area.

Plenty of tv’s for the sports fans. Good selection of craft beers and a full bar. Didn’t try the food menu but beer was a good price at happy hour for $5 (starts at 11:30 am!). Low key mellow bartender who was polite and not pushy as an added bonus.

I was here for a birthday party. We had the whole basement for us.I really enjoyed the place. The basement has a pool table, a dart board and a Big Buck Hunter game. The pool and the video game costs a few dollars to play, but it was fun anyway. The beer prices were pretty good, but they dont have some more of the common beers other places have. I dont know about the food, as I havent ordered anything from the kitchen.

Its a cool place and the basement is empty so it could be a place to have a large gathering of friends. In summer, it feels a bit muggy and smells damp, but we still hung it in the basement. There is also a pool table there. There is a good variety of bar food, in addition, a nice avocado salad, and good selection of bets. Service was professional and friendly.

This past Saturday, I stopped by Barrow Street Ale house on my lunch break to grab some food to go. I was recommended this restaurant/bar from this app that I use called seated. After I left, and got to work, I had 10 minutes left to eat, and when I opened one of my items, I realized there was stuff missing. I ordered the basket of wings which (Accoring to the menu), shouldve come with the 10 wings but also, carrots, celery, and blue cheese dressing. It was only the wings, nothing else. I tipped when I paid and everything even though it was a to-go meal. The store was empty at the time of day I went too (1:00pm), so I cant see how this sort of mistake would happen. Since I only had 10 minutes left in my lunch break to eat when I got back to my job, I couldnt go back to the store to bring up the issue.

Avoid this place if you are looking for a pleasant time with beer. Overly loud TV with the football games (who really needs the soundtrack?). Sullen, unpersonable waitress. Miniscule portions of guacamole. The only saving grace was the happy hour pricing on beer, but the beer list is unremarkable. So if you want cheap beer, go there. If you want an enjoyable afternoon, stay clear

Their website says happy hour is 7 days a week until 8. In reality it’s weekdays until 7. It changed due to COVID which is completely fine. Apparently management knows about the false advertisement on the website but won’t change it which is messed up and will ultimately cause their employees to have to deal with unnecessary altercations. I won’t be back until they update there website.TL:DR- happy hour is outdated and has false advertisement on their website. Don’t go until fixed.

This is not a safe place. The doorman is unstable and dangerous. My friends and I walked up to the door and were cursed out before even uttering a word. I thought he was joking. I’ve never seen that level of rage and aggression let alone completely unprovoked. Women please beware.

Ive gone to the Barrow Street Ale House several times for their Monday night wing nights. Wings are $.40 each and their Sam Adams draft beers (lager or seasonal) are just $3. With their wide-screen TVs, it makes for a great place to watch Monday Night Football. Beer selection is extensive, but nothing special. Same goes for food. They have a game area downstairs with pool tables, darts and Buck-Hunter. Great place for a low-key night.

Went there and ordered a tequilla and soda, it came back flat and tasted like tonic. The bartender remade it and it was still flat. When I suggested to our waitress that they check the carbonation in the gun she said no lol, she was super rude and then said it was on the house because she felt bad. After our meal she said the manager Mike said you have to pay for it because I rang it through and he is a big scary man. I asked if she was threatening me, it was obvious she was. We paid for the food and drink and left. The food was not that great either and bartender had a bitchy puss on all night. I was upset that I was muscled into buying a drink I didnt order, this place is run by thugs and not even good food or drink wise. If I am gonna go to a thug run business it better at least be ran well lol . I would say go elsewhere...

Attempted to come here Friday night and will never go back. The doorman is extremely rude and condescending, he actually made fun of people with mental health issues. I bring my 5 lb service dog everywhere with me - restaurants, bars, grocery stores. The doorman was degrading the moment we walked up and actually made fun of me for needing a service animal, told us we were “giving him anxiety” and compared my situation to him bringing his cat to the bar. I’ve never been treated so poorly. Do not waste your time at this dirty, ratchet bar

Barrow Street AleHouse is an old standby. Beer selection is decent; usual suspects on draught and a more varied selection by the bottle. Service is pleasant. I ordered a beer. They didnt have it. My coworkers ordered beers. They didnt have them, but instead of telling us they just didnt bring it. We flagged down the bartender because the waitress was nowhere to be seen. We asked for a different beer. It was a corked beer given to my coworker still corked. The bartender and the waitress disappeared. We finally flagged the waitress down and she agreed to open the corked beer. She took the beer to the bar, put it down, then took a tray of a different tables drinks to their table instead of opening it and bringing it to us. We had to ask her to open it and bring it to us. She grabbed it and brought it to us, still uncorked... we made her aware. She then grabbed the bottle and spilled my beer on the table whilst doing so. She came back with the uncorked beer and made us pay for everything. Hard to tell if this is the worst bar Ive ever been to or if its the worst waitress Ive ever had.
