We originally stopped by because the bar’s name is spelled like my daughter’s name, which is rare to find. Great beer and atmosphere but the best part was meeting our authentically Irish bartender named Shauna!!!!! Loved learning all about Ireland from her!!!
Thank you very much. Thanks to you, I will keep good memories of my first trip to NYC.I cant wait to come back and visit you.The food is great.Jacks cocktails are the best 💕The owner and Martin were also very nice!!!From the french girl 🇲🇫😘
We are from Canada and visited Abbeys over New Years 2023. Service was great and owner (Kathleen, hope I spelled it correctly) was super friendly and made us feel welcome each night we visited. She made it a point to come and speak to us every time we went in and even bought us a beer each! The food was amazing and fairly priced. Service was prompt and consistent. They even had our brands of beer which can be hard to find in New York. We had a great time multiple times over 5 days and would recommend Abbeys to everyone if visiting New York. Thank you Abbeys Tavern for having us! ❤️
My son and I met up with a friend here while on a trip to NYC. Our friend frequents The Abbey and highly suggested that where we meet. After just walking in the door, I understood why. Immediately, you feel welcomed and it only got better! Our server was great with service! The owner, Kathaleen went around to every table checking to make sure everyone had everything they needed and how their service was. When she came to our table and spoke with us, it was like speaking to an old friend that I just saw last week. The food was perfect. Service was 110%. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. I will definitely go back to The Abbey whenever I make it back up to NYC. I highly recommend this place to everyone!!!
This place was amazing! Great customer service and the food was incredible. The apps we ordered we the Pretzel with Cheese sauce and the pigs in a blanket -sooooo good! For my entre I had the Penne a la vodka and it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. The sauce was the perfect consistency and the prosciutto and bacon really took the dish to another level. I love that it also came with a side of parmesan.
I came here for UFC 298 and it was a $10 cover charge to enter. I can’t comment on the food or service while sitting at a table but you’re in good hands if you sit at the bar. Both bartenders were attentive and quick to get everyone their drinks. The atmosphere itself looked to be a mix of locals and young professionals from all around the city. If you’re here to hang out and listen to music it’s a great place to do so. If you’re here to chat with other people it’s a great place to do so. Glad I had a good experience the first time and can see myself coming back in the future. Don’t forget to take care of your bartender.
Just left there. Delicious drinks and all around wonderful service! We will be putting them on our favorites list and be visiting again. Wonderful Irish tavern. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness.
Its a great place with great service. And they have pretty decent food. If your on the area and are trying to break the bank you can swing in for a bite.
Great pub atmosphere, good bar food that’s made with quality ingredients, and genuine staff that is there when you need. Was that way back when I first came here thirty years ago. Welcomed our large party and we had a great time.
The jukebox machine stole my money. This place is ran by con artists. Scammed me out of my money and the food was terrible. Bathrooms were disgusting and not well kept. I think I saw a rat behind the bar. And the it had a stench of meth (don’t ask me how I know)
I had the most comforting boozy hot chocolate and he had the best expresso martini we have had in a hot minute.
Nice place. Good interior and music. Food was fairly good, beer was nice as well.Waitress was useless, though.Needed to go and check what kind of beers they have, what meet these or those dishes was made out off.At the end, 18% gratuity was added to the bill from the starters(and final bill asked for more gratuity)and i would not say the waiter earned more than 10%. It’s like you owe them what they have included, nevertheless. Which is freaking not!Fair impression is in general (except for the pork ribs, those were too dry and tasted like frozen and defrosted over and over again) except for the service and the included gratuity did lot leave a good impression, audacity is up too high. There are at least 2 places around the corner( fitsgerald and a Gem) those were much better and I’d recommend to go there instead of the Abbey Tavern)
Horrible. Waitress was rough around the edges. Waste of almost 100 dollars. Thats without alcohol. My husband ordered cheesecake and it was as hard as a rock. Called waitress over and took away and apologized. Manager comes over and said that was suppose to be taken off menu. Well if it was suppose to be taken off menu then throw it in the garbage. Why would the waitress even bring it out in the first place.
1st time: Great sports watching location. Came for a Maryland Terps watch party and they were very accommodating. Good beer specials, good service, the nachos were meh. DJ was a little loud and irritating trying to get people to yell and clap.
Abbey tavern is the best! I love going here for trivia and any other night. Staff is super friendly and I enjoy the nachos
Awesome place to eat/drink. The food honestly surprised me in a good way when I first visited. Plenty of TVs, staff is extremely accommodating/welcoming. Cant recommend it enough, had so many great days/nights here before and during covid. Anxious to be able to sit at the bar again soon, though.
Abbeys is the place to go when you’re in downtown jersey city and you need to feel like you’re back at your local bar. Austin is the best bartender who gives great service, has great musical taste, and let’s you know you’re welcome. Check it out!
Fantastic sports bar with a large pub menu. Giant screen in the back!
Pretty good. Festive environment. Avoid salads, definitely not worth money and swimming in salad dressing. Couldn’t eat. Sheppard pie fantastic. Good fries and burgers. Prices about average for area. Friendly staff.
This place has a helluva draught beer selection, lotsa space, and great energy for game night. The beer list is full of normal prices but the food menu is astronomically - comical - expensive. $35 for an appetizer sampler? Yeah right. $16 for a handful of pigs in a blanket? Not a chance. I’d go here again for a beer or two in a heartbeat, but it’s definitely not a place to spend the whole night at — or else you’ll be spending your whole paycheck.
Heard this bar is amazing! Huge Caps fan - does Abbeys play the game sound over speakers if requested? Caps play the Bruins Game 1 this Saturday at 7pm and I would love to come to Abbeys to watch. Thanks for the information
Terrible service. Kitchen forgot my food order and still charged me for the beer after waiting 30 minutes.
Great friendly staff! The bar food is awesome as well! Its a great place to go to eat, drink and make new friends!! And of course SPORTS!
Went during a Saturday afternoon - not to busy, super personable and attentive bartender and soccer in the bar big screens. On a nice day, the corner of the restaurant is totally open to the street outside giving you a nice view of there 26th Street intersection.
Good for happy hour. Its a grill tasting burger. The wings were delicious. The french fries was real potatoes fries. Prices was nice for happy hour.
Excellent Venue, Staff hospitable and kind. Very tasty food. Great ambience, spacious and comfortable.. Good customer service. Perfect location for event & party
The food is fantastic… And the servers are some of the nicest people I have ever met!!!
Stop here for hearty Irish food that’s kind to your wallet. If you can, sit on a high top table in the window area and watch the world go by. Our server, Marie was friendly and charming!
Food undercooked, bad customer service (gave us no napkins and no utensils), mediocre food. Happy hour beer prices aren’t bad.
Good bar for watching soccer games. Food was pretty good and the wait staff were very friendly!
The waitress was very sweet and quick. We didn’t have to wait long for food or drinks. I love how crispy the mozzarella sticks were ( try it, you’ll like it). This is definitely a spot to hang out for lunch, dinner, or to watch a game. I will be going back.
Bartenders are super friendly and make their drinks to perfection, sometimes a little strong which I like. Great atmosphere, and the food is just as fantastic.
Horrible service and food experience. Got the stomach flu immediately after eating the wings here. Plus it’s a dingy and dark sad place. Avoid coming here if you can help it. Don’t know why this place is still alive
Liked the vibe, nice staff and people. But paying 16 dollars (incl tip) for a Delerium Tremens just hurts my European heart. Manhattan, I suppose.
Took the train in from CT for lunch with friends.Stopped by yesterday to this great place. Freddie was our bartender and met our friend Kathleen the manager again. This place is a hidden gem on 26th and 3rd av. The food was great and the service by Freddie was first class. What a great asset to your place of business. This is our 4th time here and just keeps getting better and better. Every trip in to the city should start with cocktail and food here. Great menu and prices for NYC.
One of my favorite Irish pubs in the city. Great service and atmosphere and some of best pub food in the city. Highly recommend.
Great place to watch the games and the beer is fresh from the tap. Try the fish bao! The slaw and sauce is awesome
The staff was friendly, and the decor was very nice and at the time we went, festive for the holidays. For a tavern they had more food options than I expected, but it was a good thing. My meal, the melt, was okay (I would have wanted more garlic butter flavor to my bread)- seems like the Irish breakfast, bangers and mash and likely the shepherds pie are your best bets.FYI for my friends with mobility limitations, the bathroom is down a flight of stairs. Hoping theyll put some bright markings on the edge of each step for those with low vision (as well as the bleary eyed).Overall a nice tavern, well suited for a small group of friends.
Abbey has fantastic atmosphere. They know how to pour a proper pint, has tasty morsels and attentive staff. Glad I walked in.
Good atmosphere, amazing people, and just a good time 😁😁😁
Came here for trivia, enjoyed it. The food wasnt fantastic, but the service was good enough and the price was right. Its a good place for sports, trivia, and cheap drinks.
Sat at the bar for trivia night which brought in a large crowd. Sliders were great and the barman was welcoming
Great food good wine and beer good atmosphere great management and staff . Thanks to all.
Excellent food! Good service. The accent doesnt hurt either.
Nice looking pub with a great atmosphere. Lady that served us was miserable as anything and quite scary.
Good company at this pub, good drinks, and an accommodating owner. Informal pub where you can relax and watch a few games.
Love this place! Came out from the hamptons to visit my nephew at NYU....had appetizers and drinks. Hot pretzels were amazing. To our surprise, it was music bingo night, which added a nice twist to our quick visit. We will return!!!!
I just had a drink but overall atmo was very nice. Not too overcrowded, the bartender was friendly and the drink price was less than expected. I think that should be a nice spot to watch football next time.
Great Irish pub. Food is excellent & large selection of beers & ciders.
Great food, a lot of different beers on tab and a great atmosphere.
Love the place ( A) in every way.. most see to believe..great workers, friendly and foods MMmm
Nice sports bar, good food, pleasant staff. Restrooms are downstairs.
Great staff, food and drinks good too. Place kept sanitized and clean.
Food was great. Plus perfect atmosphere to watch footie.
The Caesar salad with steak was very good so were the sliders.
Very solid tavern. Good bartenders and staff
Great spot for a good meal and a cold brew. Menu has burgers to fish and chicken. Appetizers are good. This all featured in a tavern like setting. Abbey tavern was clean and rest rooms were to
Limited menu, but the food was good. Burger was grilled perfectly.
Great food and atmosphere. Lots of beer and whisky selections
Friendly and welcoming environment with above average food, and a solid draft list.
No virgin drinks for the times I dont want alcohol and the waiters or waitresses can be a hit or a miss in terms of service
Great bar. Great staff and very friendly environment
Great sliders and Eric the bartender very welcoming. great service
I enjoyed a Reuben sandwich and slept so well.
Food is not so good, looking to prices you pay. Restaurant is a mix between all types of purposes; sports, family, couples, groups. You must like it, but for us not the place to be. Opposite the street Street Taco for us much better.
THE PLACE IS AWESOME AND THE SERVE WAS GREAT AND IM HAPPY EPL CELBRATED THERE CHRISTMAS PARTY
Great atmosphere, even better bartending and food.
This restaurant is a gem!! We went here for the first time last night and we had the best experience. The pub is very cozy and you can choose to either sit at the bar or at your own table. You can see a TV from every seat so it’s a perfect spot for any sports fans. The food was phenomenal and the owner/bartender was the best. Highly recommend going!
Decent beer selection, great wide open space
Theres so many screens here you can sit anywhere and still have a view of anything they have on. Great for sports nights or to just chill out with some friends. The kitchen is open a bit later than the other bars in the area which is a bonus. I went during the NBA finals and still had great service. Love this place.
We hosted a family lunch last Friday. The day before the event, Cathy and Dermott arranged for our group to have several tables at the front for our group of 22 people. Kinga and Sorcia were our servers and they did a great job! Food and drinks were awesome...highly recommend this spot!
The drinks need help but the burger was delicious
Great service and excellent food.
Friendly sports bar with a great range of beers and every sport available shown on the many screens. I made friends at the bar in minutes and can recommend the shepherds pie.
Had the burger, very good!
All the times that Ive been in the city this is the first couple times I went there the salads everything was really good actually
Incredibly friendly service. Get the beer battered chicken fingers!
Really nice sports bar. Plenty of screens to view different games happening in real time. We went for March madness and we’re able to watch most of the big games. Managements a little aggressive especially with the 90 minute time limit on big game days.
Great service, nice place, boring hamburger.
Proper pub- great guiness and great staff
Its a great pub with lovely atmosphere
Excellent Irish/sports bar with great wings and plenty of TVs. Service is always on point from Dermott and crew - highly recommend
Solid place. Your typical neighborhood Irish bar. Bartenders are damn solid and the food is way better than average. If youre looking for something fancy and pretentious? Its not this! Ha! But if youre a tourist and youre thinking, I want to see a local, neighborhood bar! (which I absolutely am when I travel!) this is a great spot! Stop in for sure.
Very nice bar to have a drink and dinner after a long week. The food was good and service good as well. Definitely will come back!
Great service. Awesome drinks.
A staple with good food and drink
Went here for a co-workers retirement party. Place was packed and the staff had no problems handling the large crowds. Drinks were decent and decently priced. Would definitely come back here if ever in the area again.
Amazing bar to watch a game. Awesome bartender, good beer selection, and one of the best burgers out there.
Excellent tavern good food at fair prices. Its a big soccer place good for the soccer fan. The calamari was excellent one of the best Ive had great flavor and seasoning, cooked to perfection.
Great waitress but $18 for 2 tiny pieces of fish and a handful of fries is very expensive even for being in the heart of Manhattan. Left hungry and should have gotten the $16 shepherds pie that was filling enough for 2 people to split. Definitely wont be coming back.
D waitress hang out in another table conversing and forgot she has me in another table waiting to take my order and I waited at least 15mins. Another waitress saw me and had to remind d assigned waitress that I am waiting. For a bar like this, it takes her time also to served my beer which usually d first one to serve!I consumed 3beers, d host gave me another glass on d house and when I check my check after I paid, I was charge for 4beers. I guess I am just disappointed d waitress assigned to me was unattended! But I love d food, in fairness!
Great atmosphere, Wonderful bar/restaurant quality setting and feeling. Great, courteous, respectful service, even for the disabled. I Would Most Definitely Go Here Again !
My friends and I have frequented this place many times prior to the pandemic and were so excited to go back once indoor dining was reinstated. Unfortunately, our visit Saturday for their bottomless brunch special wasnt as great as our past visits. We got the bottomless brunch special, where it was supposed to be bottomless mimosas for 90 minutes. We ordered our usual food choice from past visits and it was no where near the quality that they had prior. In addition to that, the waitress was no where to be found when it came to topping off our drinks. When we finally did find her, we mentioned our disdain with the service and instead of trying to make it right, her manager came over and yelled at us about asking too much of her waitress. We were in complete disbelief and appalled that even management didnt attempt to rectify the situation, and instead reprimanded us as the customer. With that being said, we will not be back.
Brunch is the move here. Only served on weekends. I dont even get the boozy brunch, which is offered, but enjoy their food (Irish sausage! Is good) in the summer they open up one of the walls, which is awesome with the breeze coming in. Sports bar as well, so they will have the most popular game on.
Classic NYC tavern, spacy, multiple TVs, great drinks selection, nice staff.
Having the time of our lives visiting NYC until we decided to eat at Abbey Tavern. Needed assistance identifying food options for a child newly diagnosed with celiac disease. Not provided much help or empathy. If new to food allergies with children, patron at your own risk!
Its upsetting when you go to a bar to have fun and end up being insulted by the bartender. Anti-American comments should not be tolerated especially when youre conversation has nothing to do with politics to begin with. Maybe the bartender should mind his business and learn to practice better hospitality rather than ease drop and insult customers. The beer was hot the service was bad and overall a disappointing experience. Wont be back or recommending to others.
Very friendly service, had the Caesar salad with shrimp. Shrimp were large and not over cooked. Very good.
Great service, good food, good drinks, great owner!!!! Was my second time there and will definitely be back
Its a great space for a birthday party. Its spacious. The staff and management are easy going and very approachable.
My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place while roaming the area. Had great conversation with the bartender. Chill place. We loved it!
Nice, decent price, could be better supply on bear
Its was cold. I didnt like the margarita. Buffalo wings and French fries were good
A nice spot to have a drink and watch the game
Great spot to watch the game or just enjoy the craic
Good drinks and bar food. They definitely cater to a sports crowd and will try to clear people from tables and booths for game watchers.
This is the local haunt for the Armys 69th infantry Regiment. That should tell you everything you need to know. The whole Regiment wouldnt be there if it wasnt good!
I really like this bar. Friendly bartenders. Lots of TVs. During the warmer months theyll open up the windows and it becomes a quasi-outdoor patio bar.
There was confusion about special prices on food and drinks! But wings was great!
Great Buffy Trivia night. Affordable drinks and nice atmosphere.
Nice pub . Didnt expect to find Big Ten banners in New York city.
Amazing spot, its my favorite spot ! Paul is an amazing bar tender he gets the drink right everytime ! Food is great! My favorite !!!!! I just love love this place, I even spent my new years eve there ! Awesome!!!
Amazing beer selection and the food is awesome. Love the wait staff, they do a great job and smile.
Super friendly & welcoming place with food that is reasonably priced and great quality. Gary is a great bartender. Thanks, guys!
I come here around 3pm to watch champions league soccer. They have many tvs and are not that crowded. I believe they are a Celtic fc bar. They have decent food, nothing to write home about
They need to clean their tap lines. All draft beers are oxidized. Amateur hour.
Nice place, easy going crew who test you well. If I lived in the neighborhood this would be my place to go.
Nice place with plenty of screens for your sporting events.
A great place for a pint and fine food, the service is excellent
Great food and best local place to watch UFC fights.
Very good Sunday brunch.
Do yourself a favor and Do Not come here for lunch. Since when does it take 45 mims to get a cheeseburger? Ordered fries as a side, 45 mims later, got a salad side. Really? Would have been understandable if place was packed but was 75% percent empty. mcdonalds would have been better. Thanks for wasting my lunch hour.
Great place for lunch time burgers
Nice place to play darts and have a pint
Service is bad, manager is nasty. There are way better bars to go to in a 2 block radius. Going here for trivia isn’t worth it!
Very busy
Food was amazing. Great service
Friendly staff and clean, cozy venue . . .
Great place to visit great food and staff
Great place for food, beer and sports!
Weekend Brunch for $16.95 includes two drinks and maybe the best French Toast. If you’re a UCLA Bruins fan, come here to celebrate or drown your sorrows.
Kinda expensive but deff a Cool place to have a few drinks and watch a game or a fight, staff was friendly and attentive, overall a good spot!
I went here for a game watch on a Saturday afternoon and partnered that up with brunch and drinks. I would give Abbey Tavern a 5 for atmosphere which was perfect for a game day. They have a large restaurant and bar area up front with plenty of tables and TVs to watch your games. We were set up in the back room which has TVs and a huge projector screen. I loved their draft beer list that was complete with local brews as well.My trouble was with the service and food that came out. I ordered my go-to, eggs benedict from the brunch menu. The menu offers up a coffee/juice and beverage of choice with your entree for $14.95 which is a steal. However, there was some confusion with our server and I had to remind her 2 times to bring me my coffee and mimosa after I placed my original order. As for the order itself, I was so bummed to find overcooked poached eggs. These were not the runny eggs I was excited to cut into at all. Since it was such a busy game day and service wasnt being very attentive, I didnt try to send the order back for a second stab at poached eggs. The home fries that came with the order also disappointed because they were really just smaller cut up french fries. My friends seemed happy with their lunch orders of sandwiches, but overall, Id say that brunch was lacking. Id return for drinks but not for food.
Very friendly people. Definitely a bar I’d recommend if you’re on your own and fancy a good beer, good chat and good food
A solid Irish sports bar. Plenty of fresh air and tons of TVs. Good food too
Nice food! Loved it😍
Relaxed place to go for lunch. Not too busy and service is good.
Great food and they have an awesome trivia night
Ok place but more expensive than other similar places in the area
Cold pints, nice big open windows. They put the games on for ya. Expect high prices though.
Good place to watch sports and drink. For food, it’s overpriced and generally disappointing.
Awesome place! Love it here!
Great food and good athmosphere
Great food and great staff.
Friendly staff. Good selection of beers sports on many tvs
The atmosphere was great for a sunday football game but their cheesecake was terrible.
Standard pub, great food, good happy hour
The beer selection was ok. The staff wasnt very friendly. Wouldnt recommend this place.
Cool bartender from Galway.
Good food and drinks
Sports bar with decent pub grub
Service excellent and the food 👌
Food was okay, drinks werent that good
Great replace no too crowded
Lunch portions were scaled back and they kept the same prices.
Good dip.
Very nice staff
This place is always welcoming no matter what time and both the service and food are great!
Always a great atmosphere!!
My go to pub when visiting NYC!
Gary is a great tender
Dermot and Gary are legends
Best bar in the neighborhood
Bartender is a hell of a guy
Ok
Good
Great cocktails
Food is tasty
A place to hang out.
Great food
Great place
Good place
Very cozy place on 3rd Avenue.Happy hour until 8pm, not too crowded, great selection of tasty beers and good music. The menu is varied and the food is very tasty. The atmosphere is friendly and there is a choice of tables overlooking the street or a bar. Service is equally fast)
Was excellent There are many dishes on the menu. Everything was delicious and in a good atmosphere.
Modern, tasty and colorful!
Excellent like it
