Such a fun bar with live music! We enjoyed the piano set from 7-10pm. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, people taking in the performance with a dash of audience participation, and it isnt overwhelming so that you cant have a conversation.Cocktails were great. I loved the thank you 15, and the coffee bodega one!Ramen fries were a fun snack too (I think every table had some!).I just wish the piano music went on a little longer past 10pm.

Behind the inconspicuous blue door hides a small jewel. A nice bar with good service and when we were there, with an incredibly enthusiastic entertainer Jakob at the piano.

The hostess was a sweetheart but while we waited at the bar for our table, the bartender lied and said the kitchen was closed so no more food being served. We finally get to the table and over an hour long period, not a single person comes to take our order, fill our water glasses, or greet us. Plus, we started to notice all the other tables had French fries and food! We left and will not be returning, ever.

It was incredibly exciting to find out that a piano bar opened in Hells Kitchen! Entering through the unassuming door was incredibly fun!The exicment ended there. What was once wonder and whimsy, was replaced by disrespect and confusion. For ten minutes we werent given a menu. The person seating people noticed and said, Were not setting you up for success. Normally thatd be funny, but the problems continued. We ordered food and drinks. The waitress came back with one drink and then told us she forgot what the other drink was. We then had to wait awhile before getting it. Again, not normally that huge of a deal until we entered what was apparently the lounge customer experience. Its been a dream of just about anyone to experience the Hollywood red carpet experience. The glitz and glam of getting multiple flash photography on the red carpet! So & Sos thought this was so awesome for their performers that after the performances they brought the talent to an adjacent booth to take photos of them. Suddenly I found myself in the monkeys paw version of the red carpet, where while trying to eat and drink Im being assaulted with DSLR camera flashes of the talent posing in a booth. This went on for ten minutes. It was absolutely distracting and terrible for all patrons. Oddly the staff was fully supportive and would even pause while the full flash photos were taken. Once it slowed down, we thought Oh thank god! We can finally enjoy the experience! That was absolutely the opposite. The group of staff and performers decided they needed better lighting and started using their phone lights in this dim lit piano bar for photos. Whats supposed to be a piano bar with ambiance turned into staff not caring that they were shining full bright lights into patron eyes in order to take social media photos for talent on a Friday night. Ive been treated better in Disneys Hall of Presidents where they enforce that no one use flash photography. In terms of food, Pigs in a Blanket is in their indulge section which is supposed to be a step up from appetizers. You get a total of FIVE pigs in a blanket. The only indulgence is the $16 for FIVE pigs in a blanket. No one would be satisfied with that. The appetizers were literally bigger and more filling. The only indulgence of the night was the staff deciding to use excessive camera flash photography to get us to leave. The ramen fries were pretty good though.

I live across the street and finally went here for a drink to try it out. Love it! Super cute space that gives speakeasy/martini bar vibes. Love the live music. Need to go back to try out the menu. Definitely make a reservation and try it out.

We booked a table for 6:30 PM, expecting the show to start at 7:00 PM, as stated on the website. When we arrived, we were told we only had 90 minutes at the table and could move to the bar afterward. The show didn’t actually start until 8:00 PM, and we were asked to leave at 8:05 PM, after hearing only two songs. When we raised the issue with the manager, there was no apology, just a remark about the show starting at 7:30 PM if you click through the site. Despite the half hour delay on start and empty tables, we were still kicked out, leaving us disappointed. Not a place we’d return to.

I stopped by for the Talia event on a Friday night and loved the piano bar, which is hidden behind an unmarked door with velvet ropes—giving it a speakeasy vibe. The decor was beautiful, instantly transporting me to the Great Gatsby era. We were seated in the front row, enjoying the best view of the night. The cocktails were fantastic—my favorites were the Bodega Cat, Thank You 15, and Piano Man. The food was decent as well; we enjoyed the smoked and wild salmon tartare and sesame tuna. However, the Brussels sprouts were overly salty and drenched in sauce. Now, regarding the service: our server was attentive, but it seemed the kitchen was backed up. We waited at least ten minutes after finishing the Brussels sprouts for the tartare to arrive, followed by another ten minutes before receiving the tuna. This interruption was noticeable since we were sitting in the front row.A peculiar incident occurred when we were asked to move to the bar after placing another cocktail order ten minutes after the show ended. I later learned about the 90-minute rule, but this was never communicated to us upon arrival. It left a bad taste since we could have decided differently before ordering.Once at the bar, the bartender seemed more interested in chatting with another guest than attending to our request for the check. After reminding her twice, we finally received our check when I asked the manager for assistance. As a resident of Hells Kitchen, Im rooting for this piano bar. However, they need to address the negative feedback soon before it becomes a larger issue.

So & So Bar in NYC is a standout venue that combines a vibrant atmosphere with exceptional live music and DJ performances. The ambiance is effortlessly cool, making it an ideal spot for both a casual night out and a special occasion. The food is delightful, complementing the overall experience perfectly. The real highlight, however, is the staff, they are all so kind and helpful. Most importantly special thanks to the mixologists Erica, Noe, and Nichole. They craft some of the most delicious drinks youll find in the city, enhancing the already fantastic vibes of the bar. If you’re in the area, So & So Bar is definitely worth a visit for an unforgettable evening.

Had such a great time! We were a bit skeptical to go in at first because the entrance was more like a backdoor with a bouncer, but when you step inside youre greeted to a lovely speakeasy piano bar. We went on a Thursday night, so it was more of a cosier vibe with customers requesting songs to the performers. They just opened a few days ago, so not a lot of people know about it just yet. Excited to revisit this NYC treasure in the future!!

Be advised when they say obstructed view seating, there is a chance you will have no view at all. I assumed there would be something in the way but I was shocked when they sat me fully behind a wall with no view of the stage. However I am very grateful to our host Brooke who diligent in checking for cancelations and was able to move me to a better viewing area. Angel! I would advise more disclosure on the website on the reality of the seating before you show up and are blind sighted.

The food was burnt and, though the waiters were kind, they were understaffed for it took a while for we to be able to order, simply because no one was around. But the environmtent, the musician were all wonderful. My advice: don’t eat here; just enjoy the music and go somewhere else for food.

Great night tonight celebrating NYE at So & Sos. Pity the guy next to us missed the memo on the dress code of cocktail or semi formal. Jeans, hoodie, sneakers and a baseball cap, plus he smells sweaty like he had just gone for a run. Disgusting. We are Australians... is this OK by Americans? Whats the obsession with baseball caps indoor and at night?Shame you dont enforce dress code that your establishment states is a requirement.

I stumbled upon this place online and thought I’d reserve a seat at the bar. Luckily this night, there was a jazz singer named Ollice singing. And WOW. I hope they are paying her a pretty penny because she had the whole place in a trance. Her beautiful voice in combination with the amazing venue really made for an amazing going out experience. I’ll be coming back to see her for sure.

My server was amazing, warm and helped make our night so great. The music was fun. The Chalice of Cheetos (which they add some extra to) is hands down what I needed at the moment. The drinks were fun!! Will be bringing people for a fun spot for sinks and some snacks/light meals!

This venue has all the makings of a great spot. Unfortunately, after trying it out two times, the place seems unable to book satisfying performers. My second visit, I arrived at 8:45, and there was no live music until 9:50. The next break started at 10:05. A waste of what could be a good venue...
