We booked the Sunday brunch at Burgerology inside the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hells Kitchen. We paid $30 per person for admission into the show, and our bill was approx. $50 per person with one drink/coffee per person and one brunch item. As we sat, the piano player that is more vocal and pumps up the crowd explained to us the format of the show in a way that was not quite clear until things got rolling. Let me explain- so how it ended up working at our show was they were encouraging us to request songs either by writing them down on a piece of paper they provided and include a cash tip with the paper request, or via Venmo, you could request the song and pay virtually. Once the song was requested and announced, the pianist suggested that people could stop the request by paying more and outbidding that person. He also explained in a comedic but maybe truthful way that they were just after the money, and likely this is how they make money at their show. He used an explicit term for this (again in a joking matter), but I wont share that here. Both performers were extremely talented and knew all of the songs requested, and played beautifully. It was a fun atmosphere, but I noticed that the older generation were less participating and didnt really get into it.Back to the tips that you had to give with each song choice, this was mandatory and not optional as they explained that the way the show works is all the songs played are by request. I wondered if maybe they did the first few themselves to get the crowd motivated, but Im not sure. As we walked in there were 20s and 10s with paper requests sitting on the piano already, so Im not sure who did those- maybe regulars? Anyway, we left early as it was too rich for our blood and we felt that we couldnt opt out of requesting songs as this is how the show ran, and even if you requested a song, they would announce how much someone paid for the song and if you didnt like it, you could outbid them and your song got completely skipped. This was just not what we were expecting, and were a bit disappointed as we thought it was a true piano show with a song list. Again we didnt stay for the entire show, we lasted about 40 mins, so Im not sure if by the end you had to pay much higher for songs, or if you could pay $5 and your song would get played? It seems $10 was the minimum at the beginning.Food was fine, not hot, but fine, and the atmosphere was clean and nice. All in before any song requests it was about $90 per person with the food/one drink per person (non alcoholic) and the entrance fee. Please correct me if Im way off- Im not sure if this is how all the shows work or just the brunch shows. I read the website descriptions ahead of the show and I knew going into it that the song requests would not be free, but we really didnt feel like we could just sit there and not request anything. There was never a disclaimer said at the show along the lines of no pressure to request any songs, but if you do, it goes directly to support us and our shows.

Disappointing Experience Despite Great TalentWe attended a piano performance here and while the talent was impressive, the overall experience left us feeling shocked by the hidden fees. We bought tickets online for $30 each, and its unclear whether hotel guests are charged for this or not—another area where the website is vague and confusing. What’s worse, there’s an unexpected $25 per person minimum spend, which wasn’t clearly communicated during the booking process. On top of that, if you want to request a song, you have to pay an additional fee. While we enjoyed the music, the constant money gouging left a bad taste in our mouths. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t come back because of these surprise charges. A great evening was overshadowed by the lack of transparency and excessive fees.

Scott and Mark delivered a FANTASTIC and entertaining show. Handled just about any song thrown at them from Chappel Roan to Bob Seger. Truly impressive & a highlight of our trip to NYC. Scott even pulled out his fiddle for a couple show stoppers.Tix via Go City Pass. This is a must do if you love live music. Thanks for an awesome night!2 drink minimum with prices slightly above average & slowish service for drinks was the only down side, but was a beautiful room. We did not dine, so no rating given

Want a great place to spend Saturday night in the city? Look no further than Shake Rattle & Roll Dueling Pianos! Mark and his team have perfected the art of the dueling piano, capturing the vibe in the room and channeling that energy into a non-stop party atmosphere. The place was rocking from the opening tune to last call. The night started with a couple toasts to get the ball rolling, then launched into the requests. I recommend using their Venmo link that’s posted on the stage to easily get your request in. I found myself singing at the top of my lungs and enjoying the antics in the room as people outbid each other for their favorite songs. The venue is awesome for the setup. There’s a couple balconies for big parties and the tables on the main floor all have a great view. We bought tickets in advance online for a table close to the stage and I recommend doing that as well. The food is well above average for tavern food. I can’t explain how it seemed as if the food and drinks were always instantly there when needed, but it never felt like the servers interrupted our show. They did such an amazing job. Go see this show, you will not be disappointed!

Where it goes, nobody knows :-)They play with pace, humour, love, and energy. We only stopped by for one quick drink…TWO HOURS LATER, we left with a smile as wide as the Hudson River and it was all thanks to Shake, Rattle & Roll.10/10

If you’re in New York there a few things you must do - walk the Brooklyn Bridge (tick); go to the 911 memorial (tick); see views of Manhattan from a Skyscraper (tick) and go to a Duelling Pianos show (TICK).Our group came to NYC for 5 days of “being tourists” and luckily we were told about Duelling Pianos by a friend. We went to the 10pm show at Burgerology on our last night and it was the highlight, the climax of 5 great days.
See the show, and enjoy a fabulous evening - have a drink or a few, maybe suggest a song for the guys to play and have fun.Add it to your bucket list Now!

Worst dueling pianos I’ve been too… the one pianist kept yelling at the crowd mid song. The worst part of the show was that if you paid $2 extra ($22 total) you could jump your song request to the front of the line, but by doing so, you killed the song that was currently playing. Therefore, many, if not most, songs were stopped before they even got to the chorus… all we wanted was to hear some fun piano music, it was terrible.

August 2023December 2021I had SRR Dueling Pianos play at our after party at our wedding! They got the party restarted after the reception and kept it going late into the night. Mark was so easy to work with since we had to shift the date 11 months (due to covid). Mark made it so easy! I had nothing to worry about. Mark and Sean were there and set up so as soon as the reception ended they invited everyone into the next section of the venue and everyone could keep partying!January 2023I highly recommend using SRR Dueling Pianos for ANY party! Mark is super easy and flexible to work with. He brings so much fun and life to any party! We had my 40th birthday party in January and between Mark and Sean and the vibe they bring everyone was up dancing. 7pm came and no one wanted to leave. Everyone asked where/when they could see them again! Sean is outstanding and together they know any song! Everyone loved being able to request a song! They pulled my party together and I could never have another party with out them. See you guys January 2024!!!!!NYC with SRR Dueling PianosI have never seen such a high energy show! Mark is amazing and keeps the crowd engaged and singing along ALL night! The show is fun and will make you laugh! How he delivers jokes and songs is outstanding. No matter where we travel there are no other shows which compare to a Shake Rattle and Roll show!Virginia Beach with SRR Dueling PianosI also get the opportunity to see SRR Dueling Pianos at the Apex and Dave and Busters in VA Beach. Every show Mark does is amazing and different. At any show both players get the crowd engaged and keep them singing thru the night. I have never seen a show where the crowd isnt laughing and smiling. He brings high energy and is extremely enthusiastic and that is seen thru every single show he does (no matter the venue!)I highly recommend hiring SRR for your parties or seeing them at a show! Youll learn new songs, new jokes and have non stop fun!January 2024We had a birthday party for my husband and mother in law in January at a winery in Virginia. We cannot say enough good things about Shake, Rattle, & Roll dueling pianos. Mark and Sean really can play to ANY crowd. They had the crowd up dancing from 80 years old to 3 years old. They played “grown up” music as well as Disney music. They were super flexible and geared the party for the crowd type. I couldn’t imagine having a party without them. Until next year… :)

February 8th, 2020.Awful experience. The company oversold the event at Patrick’s and when my husband and I arrived, they tried to seat us behind a wall, away from the show and out of the viewable area from the pianos. When I stated we would not sit away from the show, (where not one other person was sitting), we were basically told “ to bad”. I requested a refund and a phone call from the event coordinator to which neither has been produced. Disrespectful, rude and I would never recommend this show to anyone.

If you are going to enjoy pIano music this is not the show for you. This is more like a comedy show where they mock piano music. Extremely disappointing when they advertise that they play billy Joel, etc. it is a scam where one of the players walks around prior to the show and collects your requests and tips and then they did not play the songs I requested which was billy Joel. The player speaking during the show was a jerk and just made fun of everyone’s requests and the amount of tip. Very rude. We paid over $30 to get in and there was 3 of us. Then my husband tipped $20 for our requests. Big rip off. Don’t waste your time or your money!

Had a disappointing experience a few weeks back. Started as a lighthearted show and poking light fun at the crowd. Reasonably good music, although first few songs were definitely pre-selected.There was a group that requested a song they clearly didn’t want to play, and the pianist was quite mean to them directly. Then called them out after they had departed. The whole thing was quite awkward and unprofessional, certainly wouldn’t go back.Definitely an older crowd and slower evening. Venue is a bit odd at a fancy bar, no one was getting up to dance around or sing. That said, both piano players were quite talented. Especially the one who isn’t the MC had some really cool improv at times. So music was OK but show was disappointing, and borderline uncomfortable.

The worst night of our trip to NYC.Venue waters down their alcohol. Our Old Fashioned was served in a broken glass. $50/2 drink per person minimum spend, whether you like the watered down drinks, OR NOT. Its truly unfortunate because one of the musicians was clearly very talented and it should have been a spectacular evening.Save your precious time and money, skip this whole dumpster fire. Now we wait for the petulance and arrogance of the person who replies to every review on every platform...Feedback is a gift. This dueling piano show was such a great experience! Our team hired Mark & his team for a private corporate reception. It was a speakeasy theme & this brought the total package. The high-level executives at this event had a ton of fun & gave such good feedback. This is actually the 2nd year in a row that they requested Mark & his team! The comedy aspect brought such a great touch, as well!Another perk to point out, we were truly concerned about the set up time as they would have to walk through the area of the cocktail hour and we did not want the executives to see the pianos as it was a surprise! We asked Mark if he could arrive early and he even arrived earlier than we requested which made us feel at so much ease! We highly request this dueling piano experience for your next private event!

We went to Shake Rattle and Roll last night at Cutting Room with our 16 and 19 year old boys. The venue is cool and a nice area. The entertainment was GREAT! Boys liked it better than Book of Mormon. Super talented musicians with comedic wit and timing. I was a little worried due to the reviews. However, if you like to have fun and you know you will spend more money than just buying a ticket- you will have a great time. It is $25 per person for drinks and on average, $20 per song. If they don’t know it, which is rare, they give you choices or they give the audience the choice. Yes, someone can pay more to end your song. They will play hard stuff- Devil went down to Georgia was amazing!!! And even did 90’s hip hop based on audience votes. The show ended at midnight and we all left smiling.
