First and last visit. No very pleasant experience. Then everyone had their jackets on the couch, I had a nice jacket that randomly was stolen, I’m pretty sure that there is a group of people that goes for a target and then steal from them. Cause my jacket was the only one that disappeared from around 20 jackets that were there. The music was good. But on the Latino party, the space is too small. So be careful cause is people that is going to get your attention and the take your belongings. There’s better and safer places.
This place is a big time scam they make you buy tickets with certain policies and than when you get to the place they are always switching it to make you not be able to come in even with showing them proof from there own ticket cause it’s “third party” when it’s the only way to get tickets. The miserable security in the front like to play like the manager when he don’t even know how to manage to speak without bullshit coming out his mouth. Worst spot to go complete scam
They profile you based on how you dress, just like most clubs in this area but here are some quotes bouncers typically use when they judge your character by what your wear1) RSVP ONLY, when nobody else in line has RSVP BUT GETS IN2) Point out something your wearing and say its against the dress code ex. Cargo pants (and let others in with same dress code violation)I understand places have the right to be selective but damn all i wanted was a few drinks and a relaxed night, I even offered to pay to get in and was still denied.
Stole money!! Bought tickets for Halloween event that I was unable to attend. Called number and was told that a refund can be issued 24 hours after the event and to call back next day. When I called back the next day was told that I needed to email. When I emailed I heard nothing for days. Followed up nothing. Tried contacting through website contact us page, heard nothing. Tried to call venue and now the number is disconnected??? Stole my $100 and ran off. Probably don’t others this way too. Shady…, wont attend any event here ever.
Went here for a Caribbean style party with 3 other people. Nice tropical vibes with lots of plants and flowers. It was a daytime event with great DJ and very crowded. Most attendees were younger than my adult children. (This is the case in most places these days.) We still had a nice time moving in spot to the grooves. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Drinks were pricey but that’s expected. Stayed for about an hour then headed downstairs and chilled in a lounge area with A/C to cool off before heading to our next stop.
The first time I went, they wouldnt let me in because I had not my physical passport, then I took it physical passport in winter, we left our jackets with my friends near us and we got robbed at the party in the basement? What kind of place is that? That steals your belongings, I wont go back, I dont feel safe going to a place like that.
It’s a great place I really enjoyed being here. Yeah it’s has nice music. Need to come here more great place great amb
Played an acoustic show here on a Tuesday night in 2009. The place was empty so we played to just the bartender haha but it still had super cool vibes. 5 stars because I’m sure it’s a cool place when it’s busy too!
This place was amazing. 3 levels of music, and you can sit on the Rooftop before the reservations roll in with no hastle at all.The waitresses were so kind and let us chill out until the music came on, and we even got free promotion tacos! Great service and amazing atmosphere.
The bouncers are EXTREMELY rude and just overall terrible. My friend was wearing a hat and mind you, they never told him at the door that you *cant* wear one, and they shoved him out the door and slapped his drink out of his hand. all while multiple other people had COWBOY hats on walking around, didn’t see them make ONE comment towards them.
They won’t even scan ID just flash a flashlight. One of my piers (party of 6) who was visiting from Mexico, came with Mexican consular ID and was denied entry , I asked why security replied with “it’s not a greencard” the lack of knowledge of visas/consular id is mind blowing. Mind you a young lady behind my party was allowed in with a printed paper.I didn’t even say anything just took my party 6 elsewhere .This was my 8th visit and not planning of coming or recommending to any of Latin descent.(Mind you they charge up charge you $20-40 to enter the basement where they play only Latin music)My event happened 2 months agoCompletely forgot about this awful experience until I was reminded and saw someone else experience an identical dilemma.
Came to the Delancey last Saturday for reggaeton Friday and it was so much fun ! My group and I had the best time and will be coming back again my
Been here twice for birthdays where we rented the rooftop. Service was great and friendly. They were good about kicking out strangers at our tables.Music is house / disco. Not sure how downstairs is, but the rooftop is more lounge vibes and ppl don’t really dance / music isn’t lit enough for it
Second floor was great for us, music was cool, security was everywhere, bathroom area was treated by several people on the go. Drinks were good. The only thumbs down that we were told about dress code in place while after certain hour they started to let everybody in, includin in baggy clothes, sneakers and etc. attire that i was told is not acceptable. Its not that I care much, its just why tell me that over whatsapp if the establishment doesnt follow these rules.
A nice 2 story place. The upstairs kind of gives me a nice club house kind of feel. It has a lot of space and is great for an event. It has full liquor on both floors and lot of options for the venue you can customize for an event.
Pretty nice place to start the party. Nice little rooftop area to get some drinks and dance but the music and party vibe was so much better downstairs, mostly because of the music. They should switch it up so the cool music is upstairs and the lame teen girl pop music is downstairs.
I used to love going to The Delancey because of the Reggaeton Parties in the basement. I was a regular there during my college years, until they started charging almost $60 per person to access the Reggaeton, while the other two floors including the rooftop had no cover. They also failed to protect women & queer individuals who attend, as my friends and I were harassed there by a man and the only moment the security was involved was when the man was going to punch me after I confronted him & his friends because of him touching me without consent multiple times. My guys friends have had issues in the past with the door due the dress code being switched up per each man that walks in, cargos & tips are okay for some but only if they feel like it. Finally today after not being here for months, I wasn’t allowed in with my scannable foreign ID (I have dual citizenship and my Permit is expired) because I didn’t have a “green card”. My question is are undocumented people not allowed inside this establishment? What if we don’t want to lose our passports whether American or foreign and we are using a valid scannable foreign ID? If you can drive in NYC with a Colombian drivers license why can’t you use an official scannable picture ID with DOB. More than that highly disappointed in the way the bouncers always handle their rejections, with a rude demeanor. As someone who works in nightlife I completely understand the sentiment of bouncers being serious, but never rude unless utterly necessary.
Good spot depending on the night. Safera nights on Fridays are good but extremely crowded and they let way too many people in. If you dont mind drunk college kids and a bunch of guys standing in the way doing nothing trying to talk to girls have at it.Basement is house party vibes.Main floor is 90s & 2000s music. The highlight of the delancy is the rooftop where I go a lot to house, EDM music plus more mature people are upstairs and easier to get a drink from the bartenders.Security is on point there on all floors.
Had a great time at The Delancey! It was crowded at the second floor and quiet in the basement, but the energy was amazing. Prices were average, and it’s a perfect spot if youre looking to party with friends. Would definitely recommend!
Come here every weekend love the energy love the environment. Best place to spend the weekend
Amazing place! I had so much food and the staff was so sweet. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy the night life in NYC.
Be careful bc they put a gratuity fee on drinks without telling you and then ask for another tip. I paid almost $10 more for a $20 drink lol…
Best spot in LES!! Coming out of town for reggaeton night … totally worth it!!
Don’t usually do this but I have to share the experience I had tonight because I’ve never had anything like it happen to me in New York. We were downstairs to watch the bands. At the end of the show they cut the last band off which was a downer for everyone. People were chanting “one more song”, in a fun way, then suddenly staff then got INCREDIBLY rude and aggressive towards me and my friends, yelling at us to get upstairs right away. We couldn’t believe it - it went in a second from everyone having a great time to us feeling really threatened. I will never go back again.
Peter and jenn are the best bartenders ever. had so much fun here!!!
Bryan F is the best bartender in town. He made sure we had our drinks right on time, even during our girls night out time.
Bouncers are a holes but the dj is 🔥, crazy expensive cover fee but 2 free (small) drink tix
Amazing selection of performances. A band called Soul Chocolate player and they were incredible. The drinks were really good and had excellent customer service. Cool crowd too. Highly recommended.
The coat check is a little strict for some reason and only takes two jackets if they favor you.
Spent my birthday here last year, and it was so much fun that my boyfriend had his here as well!We got the vip room with out own bartender. My birthday we did cash bar where my guests paid for their own drinks for the night, and my boyfriend did bottle service with sparklers and the whole shabang. So so so much fun. Everyone was so nice and attentive. Super nice place and very reasonable minimums. Also lost a jacket, and was able to come back and get it from their lost and found the next day.
Great club. Great mix of rock and electronic music down there and some great indie rock. Friendly people, passionate youth. A very pleasant time. Great find. I really liked the concert venue, especially for lovers of good rock. The bar has a good selection of beer and drinks, snacks, hamburgers. I really liked it, I will definitely come again!
It’s an amazing place with super good music and excellent service!
Came here with my long term partner who loves a vodka-based mixed drink. No cover for us before midnight, great energy within the club, multiple dance floors with a rooftop too. Rooftop was a bit more quiet with most of the dancing going on on the ground floor. We got a few beers, vodka redbulls, and cosmos. Nice time!
It 0 stars I would absolutely terrible they close at 4 and I showed up at 1:30 they wouldn’t let me and my friends who were willing to spend money inside absolutely ridiculous no cover bar which is respectable but if you close at 4am don’t advertise that if your gonna close the doors at 1:30AM
Such a cute location with lovely decor.. Awesome staff and security..my only complaint is how small the space is, and they still allow people to pack in..Manhattan is already crowded, going to an indoor establishment shouldnt be the same exact way/experience.. Other then that small detail, this place is nice for networking & drinks!
Super great music!! Had so much fun with my friends!
I have never been to a club where it smelled like actual feces and straight up sewage until now. Didnt get any of the cocktails due to all of them being $20. Ridiculous. There was an EDM dance party advertised and there was no EDM nor dancing.
Go to the bsmt fr for amazing latin music
Just had a birthday party on the rooftop of The Delancey. Ive been in NYC almost a decade now and this is now my favorite venue for a party. From the very beginning of our correspondence they were responsive, organized and very courteous. Even during the event today they were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure the seating arrangement would work out for my party. Highly recommend this venue and so grateful for them with helping create an unforgettable atmosphere and ambience for my birthday.
Great spot and great music! Would definitely recommend!
Although the staff were friendly and the drinks decent, one of the floors was insanely packed, to a point where it was hard to move your arms. Not to mention, there were candles lit on various bar tables. That’s extremely unsafe given how many people under the influence were cramped into one space. That has got to be a violation of some sort. I will never go back and I would advice anyone to reconsider for safety reasons.
The Delancy’s vibes in here were not disappointing at all! This is my go to place with my girlies always!
Great hosts, water is not charged. The music is good, they played JID which was awesome. Come early.
Great vibes!! I enjoy this spot so much . I recommend you come here
I love this spot number one in the whole city.
Great place and great ambient along with the staff
Come here for a lit time with GREAT music!!
Lovely rooftop bar!
Went here for some spoken word poetry and stayed for all of the talent they had coming on stage. Drinks were about $20 each so can be pricey, but the bartender knew how to make a cocktail. The place is beautiful and they have 3 different floors. We didn’t eat any food.
There was supposed to be an event on June 20th with dj manny fresco. They had us sign up for a spot on the website like the event was actually happening. We arrived and it was closed.
Great place to start your gig... LES vibe NYC. Equipment didnt jive with most performers but we understand due to the size of the place, small.
Place with decent music, drinks were around 20 dollars. However, the bouncers were unreasonably rude and had attitude.
Good place to party. good service
Great food, music/DJ, service and ambience all around! The birria and rizzo pizzas were especially good if you’re into spice.
Good botanical treehouse vibe upstairs, nice big DJ bar on main floor. Young crowd good energy overall
Be aware ladies! I literally got my phone stolen from my purse last Friday! It was inside my purse when I realized I did not feel it anymore. This is a common occurrence based on some of the reviews. These thieves wait for it to be more crowded to target people. We asked the bartenders and the bouncers and they seemed aware that this happens. If there is a ring of people going around and go to the bars to steal phones why are they allowed to enter? I had been here before, but can’t believe this happened. I didn’t think I needed to worry about my phone being stolen INSIDE my own purse. Thankfully my wallet was there still, but that is what they’re doing. The place is fun, but is not worth having the trauma of getting your phone stolen in plain sight. Very disappointing. Reconsider going somewhere else; broke people come here to steal other people phones. I had to get a new iPhone and I was able to see where my old iPhone was and it literally says is in Senegal, Africa. This is whole scheme going around and I would’ve be surprised the staff is in on it. Karma will find its way!
It used to be better. Now they divided the entry so for the downstairs you gotta pay separate. Is not worth it. It gets very hot downstairs
Christin was very helpful and aided in a very hospitable environment.
The worst night club I have ever gone to. HARD NO!! Racism at the very high level.Kicking out anyone without any reason, just to make some space in that crowded hell.
Amazing music, amazing drinks, amazing vibe. Def coming back
Will never come here ever again. Worst Birthday experience of my life. We made a reservation for a 30 person section to celebrate mine and my friends birthday on the rooftop. When we got there we were told that even tho we had a reservation we had to go to the back of the line. They were letting other people with reservations go right in past the line. Once we made it through security we waited for another 20 minutes outside of the club because our “table wasn’t ready” even though it was already 10:45 at this point and the reservation was for 10:00. Every person we invited had to wait 30 minutes in line to get in, and many of my friends weren’t even let in because of the “dress code”. The staff was extremely rude. Once we made it to our “section”, it was filled with people we didn’t know pushing and shoving the entire night. Would never come back here or recommend it to anyone.
Complete scam for NYE party. Bought $55 tickets online only to be told at the door that it was $1500 to get in with a table. Stay away from this scam.
This place was okay . The basement was extremely crowded to the point where I could barely move and I was shoved and my drink was spilled. The bar guy got upset I didn’t tip but I was already paying $37 for two drinks and it was a simple drink. I shouldn’t feel obligated to tip. When he saw I barley tipped he put more pineapple juice then Malibu which in my opinion was uncalled for. The drink tasted like juice . tipping is a choice ! That’s absurd it is extremely small for the amount of people. They should have a space to just walk up and down but considering how small it is it makes sense . I have been to clubs before and yea I understand they get packed but this was just extremely small for the amount of people.
Had a great time!! come visit if you are out here in NYC!!!
So yes the reviews are true about the phones. It hadn’t even been a month I bought my phone and someone literally stole it out of my pocket. When I tried to ask they didn’t care one bit. So it makes me question the establishment and the people that work there. How have so many people lose their phones and they haven’t taken any step to make sure stuff like this doesn’t happen? This is just ridiculous.
I love that it has three separate floors (downstairs, main, rooftop) meaning 3 different djs. if you get tired of one of them you could simply go upstairs or downstairs and try out the others. theres no cover charge which is always a plus
Came for the Latin night, great music and atmosphere!
Ive always had great service from the bartenders. I love this place.
The best place to party in NyC😍😍😍😍🥰thank youuuu
Be aware—there’s pickpockets and thieves in this place, my friend’s phone was stolen from inside her purse. The phone was immediately shut off which shows the intention was to steal. The staff did little-to-nothing in the moment and showed very little remorse, it almost seems like they’re involved in the scheme. The place itself gets very packed regardless of whether you’re in the basement, ground floor, or rooftop, so that makes it that much easier to become a victim. The staff, with the exception of the bartenders, are just very rude and daunting, in general. The atmosphere itself is fine but it may not be worth it considering all it entails.
Love it, prob one of the best clubs around. No cover charge and they don’t do any bull💩 at the door. You get in quick and staff is very friendly. They have a basement with Latin music, first floor with more American music and rooftop with the same American music but just a lot lower volume. It’s perfect to talk to pretty girls. Drinks are 15 each. And bar service is always fast. I recommend coming if your going on vacation
Horrible customer service. Asian bottle girl and bouncer harassed my sister and I and forced us to leave over a table. She said the table was for bottle service only meanwhile there was no sign on the table that said so and no other customers sitting at tables had bottle service. There was countless empty tables throughout the rooftop but still forced us out of our table. We complied at first but asked for 5 more minutes so we can finish our drink but the Asian bottle girl told us to leave now and called the bouncer who proceeded to put his hands on my sister and spit on my face and didn’t even let us use the bathroom before we left. There’s literally never a reason for someone who works in the customer service industry to treat a customer this way.Response: As I said there were no signs on the tables, As I said we asked the tables next to us if they reserved the table or ordered bottle service they did not when the Asian bottle girl heard that she had no response to us so she escalated to calling security because she didn’t know what to say. As I said there were countless of empty tables. Your response is just as unprofessional as your staff, it’s honestly disgusting that you allow your staff to treat customer that way to spit on them and grab them for literally no good reason.
A triple+ on that plus four.Love the place for the first time and I enjoyed it.
The staff was very nice! Many atmospheres in the party with all kinds of music. Ill definitely be back!
Best place for night outs. Saturdays are the best try to be here before 10:00pm and stay till the party ends its all worth it. Loved the service and ambiance. ✌️
$17 for a well whiskey soda. I know its Manhattan, but Im pretty sure thats against the Geneva Convention. The ambiance is fine but nothing that justifies $17 well drinks. No thanks
If you’re gay/queer stay away. I was turned away at the door after the bouncer looked me up and down and said I couldn’t go in because I had ripped jeans. However, there were plenty of straight men walking in with ripped jeans. In response to the owner’s reply:A dress code policy should apply to all. I saw at least 2 (straight) men walking in with ripped jeans, and this is not even taking into account all the women that had ripped jeans who were let in without any issues. So labeling this establishment as homophobic is not an extreme and unfounded accusation. Take your money elsewhere and support businesses that welcome all.
I spent my Saturday night here. Arrived around 1am. When I got there plenty of people were on the dance floor. I enjoyed my experience. The staff was pleasant.. the coat checker was cheerful (it was only $3)... the bartenders were perky and sweet.... and the bouncers made you feel safe and secure. (If youre a minority be prepared to be surrounded by white people lol) Its a good time. Check it out.
Had a blast on a Saturday! Music was great and staff super friendly🤙🤙🤙
I came here for a birthday and have had so much fun the staff is impeccable and the drinks are strong
The best part is the rooftop, it has a very earthy feeling, almost feels like your in a forest. Coming here on a Saturday night it gets really packed so being able to go upstairs to the rooftop to get a breath of fresh air was really nice. The place is a really nice place to come to and unwind, not necessarily have to be a party location. The only reason why I have it 4 stars and not 5, is because I didnt enjoy the DJ too much. Overall he played music you can enjoy, but there were times where his choice of music was just bad, and the transition between songs was very choppy.
Great place yes . Music hmmm depends who is the DJ. Drinks ( delicious and strong ) . Staff amazing . Only downside * ( spoiler ) do management realize that the basement has no air conditioner no ventilation . As soon as you pay cover charge and go downstairs you feel you walking into a sauna . I see all air conditioners off. 2 fans by the DJ booth and thats what you get. Sometimes a bouncer ( security ) will open the side door for air to flow but is so bad that you dont even wanna drink anymore you just want to run out of there. So I have an idea only for the basement lets change the dress code to swimsuits. That way everyone is happy. Cause all I see is people asking for water at the bar. Oh security is amazing I dont know how the surveillance in there ( basement ) but is something happens (any altercations) security arrives faster than NYPD . Safe place just wear something very light so you can dance the night away. Cause is not hot is a sauna .By the way halloween nights are amazing !
Great service , was able to accommodate us with tickets after cut off time for free entry.
Awful. A nuisance to many in the community. Dont go here if you want to have a good time lol
The staff is very helpful and the music is so good! The best place to go with friends
If you’re Mexican, they probably won’t let you in. I was there last night and had the worst experience. I got in line and when I arrived to the entrance they asked for an ID, I showed my Mexican national ID and they said they needed a green card or visa. Take into account that for people of other nationalities they didn’t ask for this. My Spanish, French and Australian friends also showed their national IDs and were invited to go in. There were other Mexicans on the line behind me and they weren’t allowed to go in either. Eventually they did let me in with my other friends.
Okay, due to location its very full of tourists. Music was very random. From chart to hip hop, dance
We went for Halloween. Great drinks. Fast service. Excellent rooftop.
I came tonight to see the performance of Rebel Rich. He was pretty good for an upcoming artist. The feedback from the customers was.....not so great. The only great things about this place are the bar and music. Everything else could use a big dose of improvement. Lets start with the bouncers. I understand that they have to enforce the rules and regulations but their behavior about it was unnecessary. I felt disrespected and even the inside door staff wasnt very cooperative. While I was downstairs, some people were just plain rude with no regards to manners. Half of them didnt even pay attention to the performance so why buy a ticket in the first place. I would not recommend going there for the events but I will say it is good enough for a drink or two.
This club lounge is a must bust whenever anyone visits the NYC Music and the atmosphere is amazing on the very first floor is a bar lounge second floor is for 60’s 70’s and 80’s Music lovers then the very top floor is your more young adult hip hop vibe
The bouncer in the front black dude bold with your host was disrespectful saying my girl was my daughter. You have no rights to pass side comments and being disrespectful to someone that’s trying to have a good time. Fire your staff or have a great host.
I had fun! Its definitely crowded especially the basement level ( which has cover). Level 1 was a good vibe, DJ was rocking and drinks were decent.
The dress code here is hit and miss.Weve tried to come here on 2 separate ocassions. First time denied entry because a friend of mine had rips in his jeans. Yet there were ppl coming out with ripped jeans, when we questioned it, we were told before 11 that the dress code isnt enforced. Again, yesterday we came to celebrate another birthday, and my friend had dress pants with a red velour stitching down the side of the pants and was AGAIN denied entry. Yet hoodies and jeans were okay. Please make up your mind on what the dress code is, this picking and choosing who you want to allow in isnt right. We came from Long Island really wanting to enjoy this spot yet disappointed again.
Top 2 floors were great but the there is NO capacity control in the basement (Reggaton). It was full beyond capacity
Awesome service and great music definitely recommend
Large, two-story bar that works well for a late-ish night, large group meet up spot that trades the aesthetics/boujee drinks usual NYC bars can have with not having to wait in a ridiculous line/buying a table. $12 a drink. 4/5 stars as a night spot.
Steven was amazing 🤩. Really great guy. Welcoming and great conversationalist.I was 🥳 my best friends bday and he was awesome will return. I recommend this place!
It was lit! Great music! I love that they have 3 floors AND a rooftop! The basement also has its own vibe and music.Free entry for men and women (friday). Drinks are expensive though lol not surprising. Staff is prompt and courteous. And despite being packed, they have someone who is alert and cleaning up spills and empty glasses/bottles.The only reason they got 4 and not 5 stars is because the basement is waaaaay too hot to fully enjoy. It feels like youre suffocating down there. A few ceiling fans or some strong ac in the basement and this place would easily be a 5/5
This place deserves 1 star cause it’s totally a SCAM. If you have your partner and you’re looking for a place to enjoy your night partying with them, this is NOT a place for you. Believe me!This is a 3 floor building. You have the rooftop, the second floor and then downstairs in the bsmt (Georgie’s). Rooftop it’s more private, people tend to chill with their boyfriend/girlfriend. Middle floor is more loud and it has a variety of English music. Downstairs it’s very hot, music not so loud and that’s where everybody hooks up. Bartenders we’re not that nice but not as bad as the second floor one’s. They have such a rude behavior if you don’t tip them (even if you do later on) or even if you do tip them. Drinks are so expensive, beer $9-$10, and regular drinks between $16-$17 (they’re not even that strong) and your paying taxes to all of them. Everybody in NYC knows you don’t pay taxes when buying only drinks. They post these flyers of Spanish/Reggaeton music in Instagram which is a total SCAM because the flyer clearly says “Free Event” and when you get to the door they want to charge you $40 to go to the basement (where the party they’re promoting is on). They don’t have many security, and in general everybody is looking for somebody to hook up which I feel takes the fun out of it cause they be harassing you in every chance they can.I would say that if you ever want to go to this place as a girl, don’t go alone, go with your friends, there is so many creepy guys, specially 2-3 old guys searching for girls talking lies about where they work and asking you to hang out later on.Never leave you drink alone. And be AWARE of your surroundings at all times! There is a lot of craziness going in there. Be SAFE!You’ll thank me later!
The place was amazing and the 3 levels is a plus. The DJ was on point, the people were amazing the staff were tentative. I was in the rooftop. it was a very diverse crowd the ambiance was intimate. I love the indoor outdoorsy feel it gave off with the decor and the plants.
Me and my band have played there many times over the years, Lots of fun, lots of energy. One of the best dive bars in NYC.
So much fun and amazing employees
Dont go for the music. They dont care about putting on a good show, all they care about ripping you off on overpriced drinks. They put artists on stage late, then do nothing to accommodate them and completely cut them off. Worst place I have ever gone for live music, I feel bad for the bands that play there, and I feel bad for the customers who they dupe out of their money just to watch their favorite artists get cut short on time. Unprofessional and I wont be going back.
I usually dont review clubs, but we were in the area to check out a neighboring bar and we happened to discover this spot. Were glad we did.The music was great! DJ seemed to have played all the best hip hop of New York artists. They had a rooftop as well, but it was overly crowded, so we just hung out at the downstairs part.No cover that night. Would return!
Love this place!! Safe and crazy fun.
They are really selective who comes in. The security guard who checks identity upon entry has a horrible attitude, treats people badly, discriminates against them and yells at them. an unpleasant experience. And if you have a city ID they won’t let you in.
Didnt see the lower area, but the ground floor is really nice and the roof has a super cool greenhouse kinda vibe. I love how much space there is to sit and chat, not too loud to hear your friends but loud enough to not hear your neighbors. My only suggestion for improvement would be the bar, its not really big enough for people to sit at, but its long enough for everyone to think theyre first in line for a drink. It would be better to have a designated line for people getting drinks and then moving away from the bar.
Music is trash except the venue is really cool. As for the music, it was not at all dance worthy and concentrated towards old hip hop and pop especially on the first two floors. The basement was actually not bad at all with its music selection, however, it was humid and smelled like armpits. Not that great
I attended a hip hop event at Delancey last night and the placed seemed cool. I noticed there was a roof top but since it was raining outside the event moved inside down to the first floor. Its was cool, No problems, drama free, respectful patrons asking for your pardon as then moved thur the crowd.THE MUSIC: Just straight 90s type vibes, as different artists showcased their talents the mood changed to a more modern urban sound. From beautiful women to good music.
They ruined my Birthday! 🤬 Made reservations thinking this was a close to upscale place for 25 people. The section could only fit about 6 not even close. It was a 65 dollar charge for unlimited bottom shelf drinks you had to walk to the bar and wait in line because the bar was open to the entire club.I thought from looking at the website it would be much more private or at least clean. He was sooo hood people were sitting on the back of our couch. There were empty drinks in the couch cushions and the couch cushions looked filthy. I was so bad I redirected my entire party and asked for a refund. If you have any kind of pride youd do the same.
Made me take my hat off. All beers cost 10 American dollars.
Terrible club. They don’t allow entry if you’re wearing ripped jeans, sweatpants, t-shirt, or hoodie. I understand the policy on bottoms, but denying someone for wearing a plain hoodie is ridiculous. I’ve been here before too and they pick and choose when to enforce their dress code on tops. On a side note, the basement is absurdly hot. Anything but a t-shirt / polo on and you will sweat. The air feels moist. They should add windows or some kind of ventilation down there.
I love the place, the music is nice.
Such an amazing spot!! great vibes good drinks!
The only thing that was good was the music. The food was horrible and the cost was over priced to get in..53.00 for drinks and food. I dont drink so I was hoping for good food. I had some chicken sliders, the buns were soggy and the chicken had no seasoning. The fries were not completely done. There was not a huge option for food.... Next time I will stay my butt in Harlem, where I get my money worth! I was very disappointed 😞
I have such a great time here that i keep coming back. Always a vibe, best spot to come with your besties !
Good place with nice drinks and Great music. Downstairs can get packed. Multiple times our drinks were knocked to the floor by other patrons with 0 awareness. You cant fault the place for that, but they didnt wanna give a new drink (was completely full) All in all its a solid lounge spot to have a great time.
I would give 0 stars if it were possible. Horrible place
Amazing experience, music was poppin can’t go wrong with Delaney ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great service. Great atmosphere. Great music. Great drinks.
The bar was fun fun!! Highly recommend!!
Its a club. Very basic. Decent rooftop deck with retractable roof. Okay. Drinks are overpriced and of cheap quality. Suspect theyre switching out cheaper booze into better bottles so dont bother ordering top shelf. Order cheap beer, dance, flirt with pretty people and enjoy your life.
Staff was rude, food was small portions and I mean like a sample size and it was disgusting. We had a promotion for a 2 hour brunch they let us in late and then tried to fight us about the drinks that were INCLUDED in our tickets. They give you a spicy menu of drinks like spicy mimosa, spicy margaritas, etc. They must have thrown cayenne pepper in the drinks just to persuade you to buy something outside of their brunch (drinks included) menu. I would not recommend and I would never go there again. They lie about their events becareful when buying tickets make sure you screenshit your event details so you can get everything you paid for.
Rooftop was nice. Arrived early, no other patrons present. Would have been nice if finger foods were available. Requested menu, but wow different and limited compared to their posted online options.
What a disappointing venue. Having been to two music shows, not only does the sound suck, vocals get drowned, they don’t allow certain attire on the roof (it’s white trash), drinks are super over priced, and just an underwhelming experience. Avoid, and if you’re a band considering performing here, avoid at all costs. The first band I came to see filled the venue and they reported a significant amount less at the door than who showed up.
Would post negative stars if possible, every aspect was terrible. Our server was extremely rude and dictated what drinks we should order. The restrooms were akin to high school locker rooms at best. Never coming back, Would highly recommend NOT coming here. The Uber ride was much more pleasurable
We drove 45 minutes to come here, we were a group of 9 people coming to celebrate my friends and my birthday, security was very rude and slick towards my male friend regarding the “no ripped jeans policy” even though you couldn’t see his skin because the jeans had another layer of denim behind the ripped part, security was letting in girls with ripped jeans too and when my friend asked if he had to be a girl to come in with ripped jeans security said “yup”. Very disappointing overall, I understand dress code policy but it should be applied to all or none.
The rooftop is cool and the drinks are good! Got ignored at the bar for a while though when I just wanted to pay the other day? Never had an issue until the other week with the bartender guy on the roof.
It’s a good place but it’ll be better if they change the staff of security outside because they’re not professional enough to deal with gentlemen.I’ve never seen staff rude and tough like them before.they talk to the people like if they’re Masters and all the other people are Slaves.never again.
They are xenophobic, although I was going to see a friend at a show, they didnt let me in because supposedly my ID was not valid, then they made the excuse that I was a minor. What a lack of respect, not even the best places in Manhattan have given me such terrible, disgusting treatment.
It’s a very discriminatory place; they don’t accept foreign IDs unless you buy a $500 bottle. That’s the only way they’ll bend their policies. For a city as diverse as NYC, this place is garbage.
Love this rooftop! Drinks are great and its very lowkey. A few of my friends have had day parties here and its always so much fun. Also the roof is retractable so you can visit rain or shine.
I never give bad reviews. This place is so young and messy. Deff not a 30 and over crowd. If you like drunk youngens(21)- deff your crowd.
They will finesse you in here , I paid $20 to get in and then I went to get my friend & they tried to charge me $5 for A HAT, the atmosphere changes around 8PM
The worse alcohol ever, unbelievable that you ask for 2 margarita 5 seconds after 2 drinks are ready but the taste really really bad, not a real cocktail
Love coming here though the service highly depends on who is behind the bar
Overall, this is not a bad spot. Ambiance and vibe are good, but it can become a bit busy. I havent been here since pre-COVID, so I am sure the crowds are not an issue now. Bathroom situation is a bit tricky and generally speaking, you will have to wait in line. Drink prices are also a bit high.
Good drinks good environment
Racial profiling at its finest but very lowkey. I got searched and got told to take out the extra buttons that came in the back of my pants that I never knew I had, attitude towards me because they wanted to be tough. When he realized it was nothing and he looked dumb in front of everyone, I asked if I was good ?.. he got in my face and said is there a problem cuz I kept on asking if I was good to go. I live next to the club lmao I seen it all
One of my favorite bars in the city for live music. This bar is one that bands from far and wide aspire to list on their musical resume. I have discovered some really great acts here as well as attended some amazing after show parties on the top floor,
This venue is really cool! You certainly cannot get bored with the three storey venue in the heart of the buzzing Lower East Side. Here we go and watching bands in the basement, dancing on the first floor to some genius and some not so ..... DJ mixes, hanging out on the beautiful roof garden ( the interior is created by palm trees bamboo furniture & super comfortable sofas).
Fun night on St Patrick’s Day 🍀
IT IS NOT FREE!!!! THEY ALWAYS HAVE AN EXCUSE TO MAKE YOU PAY!
I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)Drinks: Great.Space: This is a multi-level club/music venue. It has a very open and intimate floor layout on each level. The basement features live music performances, the main floor is the dance club, and the roof top is the lounge and an oasis. The dance floor gets really crowded, people get really drunk and bouncers are posted on the dance floor.Crowd: 20-30s Pick-up scene. Single scene.Service: Good.
Great vibes, music selection, and bartenders were great as well! Will pop out again
I’m bias but Delancey is always an easy pick if you have no where else to go . it’s just always so freaking crowded lol , good vibes ,good drinks and the dj never disappoints
Ive had great times here in the past but it may have actually become more popular in recent months than when I used to frequent it a few years ago. The club itself is two floors, with the top floor full of couches and meant more for reservations and group parties. Its pretty spacious on the 2nd level, with lots of seating, but the music is contained to the bottom floor. That means the top level is great for catching up with friends and conversations, but you cant hear any of the music. The first floor, since its unrestricted, actually gets really packed to the point you cant really dance to the music. There are speakers on the 2nd floor, and maybe theyre actually using them now, but they werent when I last visited a month ago. With music, Id lean more towards recommending the venue.
This bar/lounge has a mixed vibe depending on which floor you visit. The roof feels laid back and upscale. The first floor is nicely designed but Im not a fan of the crowd there. Its mostly after work happy hour crowd looking to flirt. I usually go to the parties in the basement which they call the performance space. Its small and the bathroom down there is gross. Take the stairs and use the one on the first floor. I only visit when friends are djing here otherwise its not the kind of place Id go to just to hang.
Best place in the city to host an event. Prices are best we found in the city and best bang for your buck.Flexible options and excellent service that led us through the whole process.Rooftop is renovated and is a really beautiful space. Casual but very nice. Also, drinks are good and strong!
Music was ok. Was unaware of it being reservation only on Saturdays I wonder why the djing was 2 stars at best.. I still enjoyed my self after two beers. Would go back for brunch but after dark you would have to convince me..Josh
I go here all the time, always a vibe on all three floors! Drinks are bomb.
I was this Sunday at the Delaney rooftop bar. I like this venue on both floors. I would definitely bring my friends here and recommend this to anyone who wants to experience an awesome rooftop view.
Super horrible service! the bartender treats you with bad attitude... you ask him for a suggestion for a drink and he out of the bat says “of we don’t make fancy drinks”... what does that mean?! :s ... anyways if you go to a place obviously for some drinks you would expect a happy bartender and happy to serve! (Specially if is just 5pm and the bar is not even crowded... ) we ask for a margarita, and a whiskey on the rocks.. how can you FAIL that... :( really disappointed...
Came to a party hosted in the VIP room, small area but great for parties of 40 or less. The drinks were weak, the music got to the point where I couldnt hear the person next to me unless they were yelling in my ear. The covered rooftop upstairs was perfect given the main floor was packed and it was raining outside however there was no dance floor.
Have been a few times, great service, great atmosphere, and always a good time! I have only been for events but would return for more!
Dont go to this place for food. Thats not really what its for. This is a place to hang out, meet people, drink and pretend to sway to incredibly loud music that you can still barely hear over the sound of the crowd. That said, the pizza and the turkey club panini are surprisingly good and inexpensive for a place that shouldnt really have food anyway.
Let me tell you a little something about the delancey. This place is a stand up place service-wise. I had a friend celebrating her 25th bday who got a little too drunk. Any other place would have booted us out and left us for dead. The staff here gave us access to a secondary stairscase to leave covertlyand was attentive and helpful till the minute our uber arrived. The security the management the staff all deserve an award for his nice and considerate they were when they didnt even have to be. Additionally their staff has always been attentive and helpful and sweet when to comes to my past experience ordering drinks and being served there. Long story short I just wanted it known that they won me over today and I will never forget that. I will suggest this place to all my friends going forward. Thank you for your help.
This place was SO much fun!
I was in the Downstairs Lounge to see Davids Pegasus. The show was fantastic and the venue was ok. But the bathroom was kind of nasty. It looked pretty fancy upstairs but so far i can really talk about the Downstairs Lounge only. The music was great... so, i will come back anyway.
Honestly, the place is a fire hazard . Although fun the busboy is terrible. Pushing paying patrons and more it’s extremely disrespectful. Just say it’s excuse me . If you come here expect to get pushed by a man collecting cups and pushing Patrons . Terrible .
Good music and vibes!
Best club in town !!
Bad experience. Drinks are overpriced and the bartenders were asking everyone for ID when paying by credit card, which required getting back to my table, taking ID out of my bag and coming back to the bar to pay. Both bartenders and security guys at the door were rude.
SMH bouncer was rude. I was turned away cus I was wearing “flats” but 3 white girls walked in with freaking flip flops like it was nothing. It was so nasty. If you are going to have this weird no flats policy, implement it on everyone equally. Never coming here again. You might think you guys are being facially neutral with this, but clearly the impact is discriminatory, maybe if I was a white girl I would have gotten in too.
This place is trash bro, denied 6 military members because we had ripped Jeans. Disgraceful to deny entry for what? When they let in dusty broke people with RIPPED JEANS
It gets PACKED so if you dont like crowds but want to hear good music and have a few drinks the vibe is great before 11. After 11 ITS ON!!!! Try to RSVP an area or youll be standing the entire time.
Just left this place. Birthday celebration, the dj was the worst dj ever. Music was mediocre. No hits. The dj didn’t want to take suggestions and My party was bored. I think he was playing 60s music or something idk. But only a small number of people enjoyed it. Sadly, it was a very bad experience. Had to speak to the manager. This will definitely be the last time attending. Saturday September 14th ,2019. I believe the music that was playing before the dj came was much better. Can I give no stars?
I only been here once for an open mic 🎤. It seemed cool. Just pricey on the drinks to me. Have 3 levels. I’m guessing there used for different events. I might be willing to give this place anther try.
This is a great place to visit on the weekend.
It’s a litttt place! I had so much fun! Definitely recommend it :)
Went on a Tuesday night and they had at least 0 artists painting Frida K. , Great music and quality drinks. Sensory stimulation on the basement level provided for a nice ambiance for the evening
The upstairs is spread out and decorated well with mini palm trees. There are also nice couches but there is no music upstairs! You have to go downstairs to a packed bar/club to hear any music.
Fun lounge with live music in the basement, DJ on the main floor, and a green house like lounge up top. All fun scenes to hang out in especially while seeing a fun band or two before the DJ dance crowd fills the rest of the place up.
Great vibes! recommend the latin floor for sure 🤩🤩
The security guard who checks identity upon entry has a horrible attitude, treats people badly, discriminates against them and yells at them. an unpleasant experience.
Just about the worst bar ever. Aggressively rude staff and a place that feels so unsafe.
A great neighborhood in NYC
Great placeee would recommendd!
I dont know about the drinks but they have great open mic setting with many experienced comics as well as newbies. (Ive only gone on stage twice). Check the Meetup app for when they have it.
Every time this place is amazing. Thanks for giving us a space to grow and showcase the amazing people and talents that support #ESMAF Empire State Music and Arts Festival. Also I love doing double duty and performing in open mic for comics on Mondays. Respectfully #SickPhatTight
Just okay. food menu is small and over priced. the drinks are expensive and really small. you’re rushed out of the place. i’ve been here a couple of times and i don’t think i’ll be going back. there are plenty of other bars to see i nyc. Overall, place isn’t bad but it’s not good.
Awful place, security was homophobic
I went to a great live painting event but the music made any discussion impossible and the place was a little dingy. Still, some people like those things and the bartenders were nice and prices reasonable.
The staff here is amazing!Amazing spot for live music! The night was a blurrrrrr.... (JK), just the photo!
Very fun spot to go to. Downstairs is like a club with great music. The DJ (James... Right?) Was amazing! He seamlessly mixed hip hop and dance and took requests. It was awesome. It is very high energy downstairs and lots of people milling around everywhere but everyone is really considerate.I love loved the rooftop and spent most time there. There is reserved seating and it is airy and a bit tropical yet chic. The music was Latin mostly and people were talking and also dancing (but not intensely like downstairs). It is like two different spots. The bartenders upstairs were the best ever. My bartender had long black hair and grey eyes. She was so kind and funny and amazingly fast! I love love love the rooftop. The best thing is that you can have two different experiences in the same space so there is something for everyone. I also appreciated the great bouncers who made me feel extremely safe. Nothing ever happened but their calm attentiveness was impressive. I was really impressed with how this place was run and the staff are professional and amazing. I definitely recommend visiting.
It was good
Good place
This place is usually pretty fun, but the last time I was there they blasted the heat to make it feel like we were in Jamaica. Make sure to dress in layers if it gets too hot.
Such a freat bar, good people and music
Awsome place beautiful view!
Great reggaeton music!
Bartender joe or John (white with blonde/redish hair) refused to give me water and when I told him I had to take medication he said he’d serve me last and when I brought it up to any staff they told me to “go to a different bar” or “they have the right to refuse any drink” which it is actually illegal to refuse a cup of water. I was only there to see a friends band and after this experience I’d never go back for any reason.
The Delaney is a but of a dive bar, but the top floor is a nice outdoor rooftop. Great for late afternoon drinks before dinner in the summer. It starts to get crowded after that.
While this place is gorgeous, the music which was advertised as Top 40 was not Top 40...they were playing The Wobble when we got there. Drinks are also really expensive. Around 245 am, the music was Top 40...
AMAZING STAFF - shoutout to J.
Best club on lower east side. always a blast, amazing staff, and FUN as hell. recommend!!!
Absolutely terrible experience. I travwled an hour to come here for my friends birthday last night. Im 24 years old, but Im visually impaired and cant legally drive a car, so I dont have a license but I have a REAL ID issued to me from the state of Tennessee. The machine wasnt reading my ID and the bouncer was incredibly rude to me and accused me of being a liar. I kindly explained to him the situation and that this was a real ID, but he was incredibly condescending and rude. He almost took my ID away from me. I wouldve understood if he had just said my machine isnt reading it, I cant let you in. because he is just doing his job, but its the fact that he was extremely rude and accused me of being a liar that upset me. I will never come back.
They make you order food just so you can get drinks, but the food is more expensive that should suppose to be, the food is overpriced and its really awful. Plus I’m Mexican and trust me the “Mexican food” is not even close of real one they give you only ”chips” when they are charging you for the extra and is only a small side of guac or beef, also the drinks are not good my michelada is more tomato juice than the rest of the ingredients, the chips are old and the taste not good. So please if you are going to give me expensive food at least give good food. I do not recommend this at all.
The venue itself is kinda run down, but they host several regular events that are interesting. The rooftop area is a little nicer, but the bar is very basic.
