I had a terrific experience here. There was a business gathering which was crowded and noisy. My date and I asked to be moved to a different table which they accommodated immediately and we had a lovely time there. It started to rain so they moved us to, a different table that was more sheltered, and we enjoyed another drink there. Eventually, they moved us to a third table with a better view because the party had dissipated. Basically they took care of us above and beyond any expectation I had. The drinks were excellent, Service. The decor is a fun beach theme.
Came here for NYE, experience was ok. The best part was the views of the city. The DJ wasn’t the best and completely missed the count down for the new year. Overall would not come back.
Such a chill vibe with an amazing view of the Empire State building. I was lucky to be here on the 80 degree day after the 7 rainy weekends in NYC. It could not have been more perfect. Sandbar was not overly crowded which was great. The blue & white decor transports you to a happy place. Theres limited options for food, but it was very tasty: we ordered a charcuterie board & a pizza, both were plentiful & delicious. The drinks were strong & very tasty (the Bowrider is pictured)! Cant wait to go back! Note: the roof is retractable so the Sandbar is open year round.
Amazing place to grab a cocktail with your friends! The cheese fondue is amazing, highly recommended, and definitely something you can share bc it’s massive. We ordered 2 wintery & festive cocktails—the breakwater & the schooner … especially if you love Apple cider, try the Schooner!! So yummy — beautiful views over the ESB and Hudson Yards. Overall a great spot!
I recently rented the Sandbar Rooftop for a corporate innovation workshop that started in the evening with a cocktail reception and took place the next day where we had the space to ourselves from 9am to 3pm. I couldnt have been more pleased by the location, staff, and food. It was amazing to have indoor/outdoor space so that we could gather and feel safe. Also it was really inspiring with fantastic views and a cool beach vibe - and this helped us feel relaxed and I am sure it contributed to the quality of our ideas. I would definitely come back here (for a drink with friends) and for another corporate event.
Very lovely place, I am from FL and we really love going to rooftops; they let us dine in last mins, great hostness she explain to us couple things our server was great also. Drinks are reasonable prices. Love this place
This was super over rated. The staff was so rude and were very pretentious. The food was mediocre. The only thing I liked were the views and the swings. They did a good job with ambiance of Hamptons but I wouldn’t go again
The views are amazing!! Provides a unique opportunity to see downtown and midtown with minimally obstructed views, while feeling like you are “nestled” amongst the buildings.A very different view than from one of the observation decks.Had drinks. No food. Service was fine. Vibe is interesting for NYC - beach theme.Would definitely go back for the views.
Awesome rooftop place. Good cocktails but limited scotch options. The vibe is very chilled so dress like its summer if the weather is good.We had the pizza and Prosciutto platter.Make sure you have reservations. You cant get it otherwise.
Nice rooftop- went in the winter so assumed the cover would come off in the summer. There needed to be more seating or more tables to mill about otherwise you are just standing around
I tried to close out at the bar since our waitress had neglected to check on us for some time. The music is so loud that the bartender misheard me after I told him twice that I wanted to close out, instead he made my husband and I two more drinks. When I said I didnt want the drinks and just wanted to close out, he got visibly annoyed and so did the waitress when ringing me up. We ended up paying for the drinks since they made us feel so bad. No apology from them either. Very rude and unprofessional. The person behind us waiting to order reassured us that we werent crazy. Gave 2 stars because the drinks were good.
Loved it . We got a chance to visit this roof top bar as we were staying at same hilton hotel . I really liked the vibe and ambience of this bar.
Had the most amazing 10/10 experience! Can’t wait to go back. Great views, food, drinks and service.
Nice rooftop in the city center, but nothing breathtaking. We had also some pizza, and was not too bad. Cool atmosphere and nice set up, seems to be on a boat!
Lovely rooftop spot. I’ve gone here a couple times for their s’mores experience and it’s delightful. The cocktails are pricy IMO but they are of a good quality. Every member of the staff I interacted with was on point and very helpful and lovely.
We had a great time! We actually had two reservations. One at 4:00 for something light to eat and a couple of drinks then went back at 11:00, after our daughters performance at the Chelsea Table and Stage, with a large group. Both great experiences. The staff was friendly and took great care of us. The views were beautiful and the bar itself was very cool. We will definitely go back next time we visit our daughter. Thank you for a great time!
Came here on a work trip with a very large group of people and Sandbar was extremely kind and gracious despite us being a large group that kept growing!Located on the top floor of Hilton New York, Fashion District, you are met with a beachy lounge with 360 views! They have an extensive menu of drinks and food, a little of something for everyone. A few of us had a few bottles of Wolffer Estates Summer in a Bottle, a rose local to the Hamptons. This is a great spot for a relaxed outing or even a date night - try out the swings!
Beautiful!!! With such amazing view of manhattan and empire state bldg. Night view with the lights all over city was excellent. The bar counter is very nice and cute but it is hard to get a seating here when it’s busy. Ambience is the best. Gilsea my server and karl was very accommodating making sure i have a fantastic experience since i was by myself that day. Very friendly staffs with genuine smiles and professional on what they’re doing… i enjoyed my meal my drinks and the atmosphere.Ill be back again.
Karl and all the staff at Sandbar were extremely kind and professional. They were co-operative and took initiative in making my fiancee and my night special. The drinks are unique and delicious, perfect place to hang out. Definitely has good vibes.
Good views and good vibes, loved the pineapple margarita it was off menu drink!
Pretty good view from the rooftop bar. They serve a very good drink and service is great!
My new favorite rooftop! Absolutely loved the food and drinks, some of the best I’ve had. Service was great as well! You can definitely feel the beachy/Hamptons vibe. The swing set is so cute! Music is good and not overbearing.Great views of Empire State Building and you can see downtown as well.
You have to pay to make a reservation. Absolutely nothing special about this place. Drinks we just ok and no real food. The serve crudites and flatbreads.
Good views, well managed, attractive space. They have reasonably good food, it’s fine but nothing special.
I imagine this bar is even better when the weather is warmer and the roof is open, but we still had a great time. It was a bit quieter than some of the other rooftop bars we went to, but that was what we were hoping for on this particular evening. Service was good, drinks were good, and the Nutella pinsa was absolutely delicious!
Staff was so friendly and drinks were good. The view was the best part but it felt like it was a little too expensive for the quality of the night.
Very nice rooftop with view on the empire state building.Nice beach vibe.Foid is very good.Cocktails are very good.Would 10/10 recommend.
The drinks and overall place was really nice .But I had surprise birthday balloons and birthday cake and I couldn’t keep it next to my table . they took my balloons away and I couldn’t serve the cake I got - I offered to pay for it and also added 4 more desserts to the table to make up for the fact that I had my birthday cake but still I couldn’t serve it to my friends. Not the best welcoming on your birthday .
Good vibes, location, views, drinks and decent food.Food choices weren’t that great, tried the Margarita pizza and the Autumn leaves one, the latter one was better
Amazing drinks, excellent service and the view.. wonderful!!!!Elisa the server, really sweet and warm. I recommend this rooftop!
Do NOT spend your hardworking money at this place!!! Me and my boyfriend went here last night to get drinks before going out, as it was connected to our hotel, and had a horrible experience. Being that there is the word BAR in the name, SANDBAR, you would think that getting drinks would be no problem. Nope, we got nasty looks for just wanting drinks and I went to try to take pictures because for the price your paying, pictures should be included. Got yelled at for trying to take pictures, granted Halloween weekend too, what do you expect?? So rude, they were yelling at us causing a whole scene like we were stealing or doing something wrong. Well shame on them because we were waiting for a whole group of our friends to come meet up with us there. Moral of the story, if you want drinks and to relax don’t come here. We ended up at Magic Hour Rooftop, where they were very accommodating of our group. Oh and there waitstaff even took pics of us!
Not a versatile menu at all...mediterrian Pizzas only. During happy hour 1hr limit at table. Beautiful relaxing decor but u dont get to enjoy it cause of the time limits. Not a wide selection of beers.
Great ambiance and amazing views of the Empire State Building. Wait Staff very friendly and I was glad I picked this venue to celebrate my birthday.Management did work with me concerning my photographer and I am grateful. It was sort of tricky trying to have memories professionally captured for my Pre-Birthday Soiree, and trying to abide with the venue restrictions on photography!!🙏I would suggest that would be a area they should rethink and perhaps change.🤔The drinks were awesome and I would go there again.🍷🍷🍸🍸🎉🎊
Worst rooftop bar. If I can leave 0 stars I would! Ive never been so disappointed before. The staff is the worst. They dont care about the customers at all. I begged for a seat for 5 and they seated me to the corner and said they dont have anything but the whole time every seat was opened and the seats that we wanted to seat was for a party of 10 but everyone who would sit was 3 or 2 people. After one hour they refused to take our order and didnt let us order more drinks. They also charged our card without even asking if we were okay with charging the card we put the reservations on. Dont come here. Great vibes until you dine. Youll regret it. Drinks are disgusting and tasted like water and not worth a penny. So unhappy! First bad review I ever left. They truly know how to make someone feel unwelcome
Hi I’m Carlos, I decided to celebrate my birthday here, this place exceeded my expectations, It was the perfect spot for this occasion, Security inside. Staff welcoming and respectful, they have cocktails for different types of palates (yes, they have mezcal ♥️), hostess pretty kind and attentive, good touch on the Breakwater Cocktail, wild mushroom pizza and they have an amazing board for groups as snacks.Overall, Brought my energy to the top. I feel the teamwork and the commitment to the guest experience is there.Thank you Sand Bar Staff.Thank you Selin for having an amazing team.
Went to get drinks here with friends and had my VERY well behaved 6 month old daughter. We were planning on getting a few drinks each - planning on spending over $100 in a short stay. The hostess turned our business away. This was on a Sunday when I assume there wasn’t many customers. Very rude and I don’t recommend spending your money here, there are many other great places with nice people.
Relaxed and beautiful space with good views of the area. Cocktails were good quality and the service was good. We were surprised it wasn’t busy.
The staff were great, the service prompt and the appetizer plates lovely. They have a slide over roof in case it rained and a nice breeze sometimes when it gets warm (BUT being an open air rooftop bar, it can get hot and sweaty).Finding the right elevator with the right button proved more challenging than one hoped - but it just added to the charm of finding the place! There seemed to be a fair number of reserved areas for large groups, so you may want the phone ahead to avoid being disappointed.Great views - but I expect most rooftop bars in NYC have some.
Gem of a place - you feel like you are somewhere in the Mediterranean. The cocktails and food are great - make sure to make a reservation in advance. The manager Selin was absolutely amazing from making sure our table of 6 were moved to a better bar location and making sure our very request was met !! She is the true symbol of great hospitality… Hilton should be happy to have her manage their rooftop bar ! Thank you again Selin for making our evening so special !
This is actually a great place in terms of location and views for an afternoon or evening out in NYC.So why the bad review? Well, they steal your money. While traveling last week for work, I popped up for a drink and some food. Everything was great. No complaints at all. My total charges were under $40 and I tipped $8 which was over a 20% tip with me being a minimal effort customer for the serving staff.Comparing my charges from my trip last week and my credit card statement, Ive come to find that their staff and/or manager didnt like my tip and decided he or she would add an extra $2 to it. Who knows.. maybe it ended up being a slow night and they wanted to throw someone a bone?Is $2 going to make or break me? No.Does a restaurant get to decide how and when Ill spend my money? Absolutely not! With this said, people make mistakes and would love to get the benefit of the doubt but someone intentionally typed in a 2 digit tip vs the 1 digit.Ill never return to this place which is disappointing as I frequently stay at the Hilton property in the building and I would highly recommend you do not support this business.Theyre thieves and theyre hoping you dont check your back statements.
Extremely disappointed. I had the sandbar on my list for a while and I couldn’t not have been more upset with my experience. First the waitress had recommended a drink, their “special” which sounded delicious. When it came, the glass was broken and I cut my lip. I was a little upset and let them know and they apologized and made me a new drink. When the bill came the “special” was very expensive and I thought that they had double charged me for the remake of the drink. When the waitress let me know it was the price of the special I was absolutely shocked. She had not informed us that the drink was over double the regular price and said that it was the correct amount. I left the bar very upset with a cut lip and an mediocre extremely overpriced drink. I live in nyc and I understand that cocktails are pricy and I knew that coming into this bar, yet not informing us of the very high price and not doing anything else for a cut lip baffled me. When I let the hostess know, I was again surprised that they only said “we will let the staff know”. Very disappointed.
The manager Selin was extremely accommodating and helpful with our family get together. Even though there were several special events going on she made room for us and made us feel very welcome. She is very friendly and fun to talk to.
We had a company happy hour on the roof and it was amazing! Selin took great care of us. The food was delicious and the drinks were tasty and prompt. Selin was very dedicated to showing us a good time and she did it with style. Highly recommend if youre looking to be taken care of.
Overall a lackluster experience for a rooftop establishment. We went there for a birthday, however the ambience is not conducive for a celebration. There were no balloons allowed, no cake, and you cannot go outside. The staff was very rigid and somewhat militant. If you’re looking for a casual place to have a first date with drinks, conversation and small bites to eat, then this is your place. The atmosphere is similar to a library/lounge area. The prices are reasonable, however you must consider what type of entertainment you are seeking for the night. For example, a small and intimate gathering for conversation and drinks is more appropriate for this setting.
Incredible rooftop with beach vibes and great views. We had a work happy hour here and honestly couldn’t have picked a better spot. There was plenty of space, the food was delicious (especially those flatbreads), and the service was fantastic. We had plenty of wine, beer, and cocktails for the entire crew. I’d love to come back!
Super cute and quiet amazing views is in door out doors for the rainy days !!
Just FABULOUS. I would HIGHLY recommend. I love that they are reservation only which results in a very nice evening—nothing jam packed and most importantly service is consistent and attentive. The food, AMAZING not too big or too small - worth it. Fresh ingredients and I love the tastes. They have live music downstairs. Love it!
Beautiful view, and vibe, food was okay and the drinks overpriced but that kind of to be expected at a place like this. Drinks run around $18 and again, that’s to be expected, reason for the 2 stars is because the server brought up their “special margarita” of the evening and then charged us $30 for it. Definitely a finesse, just order from the menu lol.
Cool bar and view. But we had to leave our table because time slots were planned too tight. So after one drink we were asked to leave. I actually told the waitress to communicate more clearly, as we were supposed to stand next to the tables ‘where we can have another drink’...... did not feel well as a guest
Rooftop bar on top of Hilton with close view of the empire state building and H&M colorful spire
Don’t know where to start , came across this place on Tik Tok. Totally loved the view from the rooftop. Then I remembered this place being called “Rare” before. The new place is way beyond amazing. I loved the fact that as soon as you get up off the elevator , you have to scan your face for body temperature. We were on time for our reservation, so we were seated right away. Rooftop is really beautiful, it gives you the beach vibes. We ordered few drinks and pizzas. Also totally forgot the spicy cashews , ITS A MUST. It was great vibes, I’ll totally be back.PSA : GET THE SPICY CASHEWS AND NUTELLA PIZZAAMBIANCE- 10/10WiFi - Not SureBathroom - Gender NeutralParking - Street
Nothing special, I’m sure there are much better rooftop places to spend your time and money at. What bar doesn’t have Hendricks?? This one. Also the drink and food menu was lacking and the service wasn’t great. Overall would not recommend this place.
Gorgeous views of the city and plenty of Instagram worthy places to take photos. We had drinks with friends and a charcuterie board that was delicious! Celine took great care of us and even brought me a blanket when it got chilly.
This place was nice, my love made it a night to remember 💕.
Reservation only. $25 minimum per person.Great views of downtown and the empire. Not crowded with the reservation only.
Beautiful location 😍I’ve given 4/5 starts due to the limited food and cocktail menu 😢. I’m not usually one to critique, but their food wasn’t the best, nor their drinks.. However, the view is amazing and great staff too!
The servers were fantastic! Since I was solo I was given a standing only table, but soon after ordering my drink I was taken over to a nice seat with an amazing view. My drink was excellent and the view was even better.
I saw this place on Instagram and love rooftops so I said why not?! You have to make reservations in advance and pay a deposit but it gets added to your bill. The menu isnt that intense so we stuck with the pizza but the bar will make whatever drinks you want. The staff is super friendly and honestly it feels like the Hamptons in Manhattan. Should definitely check it out. They also give you a huge bowl of spicy cashews if you order it. We didnt finish half of those cashews lol but they were good.
5 star service, cocktails, bites and overall vibe. Management was extremely accommodating to my group of 20 and the service team always quick and efficient with our orders. Will absolutely be back soon :)
I went to the rooftop bar, which is inside the hotel (farthest-to-the-right elevator only). I found it to be a pretty good place to drink in the city, with a good view of Penn Station and much else of the city. The drinks were a bit expensive, in particular as I had to reserve a table ahead of time. I would probably go here again though.
The view is great but you can find that elsewhere. Service was subpar and the food and drinks were okay. We got Pinsa and drinks and everything was eh. The $35 s’mores board was nothing fancy at all - a let down. Wouldn’t recommend. Especially with a $25 reservation fee (per person). Pass.
The place is weird, weird decoration, small and a bit tacky, wine is served on a regular glass. Not fun at all, but has a nice view of the city.
Great local but the service...not so much! The place was not that packed and always took forever to get our drinks. We were hurried out and there was A. No one waiting for our table B. There were 3 other tables that would have been available if there was another party waiting at the hostess stand or anywhere else for that matter. We ordered another round of drinks and food and we were told we had 15 mins to finish our food and drinks!!!!!!!!
The manager was the sweetest when we arrived and an event was going on. We showed up the next day and she took care of us. It has the best views and a great vibe!
I came to the rooftop to celebrate the last day of school with my classmates. It was five of us and they sited us in the small table were we barely fit. We were all squeezed in and uncomfortable. We asked the staff to moves us to the bigger table and they said the other tables for six ppl or 10 ppl. While being there two ppl were seated at six ppl table and three girls were seated at 10 ppl table. We had only one hour for the table. It was four tables empty and we couldn’t even order drinks because the group of people were coming for our table when no one was suppose to show up for this table. Then they started to avoid and ignore us. Customer service was a zero!!! They made us feel very unwelcome and disappointed. Don’t come here. Your vibes will be ruined.
Amazing new rooftop in NYC in Chelsea - Hamptons themed with amazing drinks, food & views! COVID measures in pleace. Make sure you make a reservation and be prepared to take a ton of pics!
They were super serious about closing and kicking everyone out by midnight on the weeknight we went. Drink was pretty weak. Ambiance was cool and kitschy. But where was the sand?
Nice vibe. I would have liked to enjoy this space, however, we were turned away due to private events. When we tried another day we were told they are not opened on Monday, and instead given drinks to take back to our room.
Interior is pretty nice. Rooftop view is okay not great. Large indoor section is nice for cold Winters. My cocktail was above average for a rooftop bar.
Service is excellent!!! Food and drinks are good, alcohol are not watered down 😉. Definitely a must place to visit if you want a summer in Hamptons vibe. The staff are very friendly, the view is amazing! Its located on top of the Hilton Hotel.
Great views and its a good bar, but they had a 90min limit on reservation which we absolutely didnt enjoy. I think they should specify that while reservation instead of putting us on the clock as soon as we arrive.
One of the best views in NYC. Indeed, relaxing ambience is perfect for social gathering and dates. I also love the friendly and accomodating staff and manager, Karl. 5-star!
Amazing service, drinks and snacks. Great views & increible decoration. Not crowded like other rooftops in the city. Would highly recommend for a date or just to have social drinks.
Beautiful vibe. Top notch professionalism from the entire staff. The fondue was absolutely amazing and the drinks were made to perfection. Thank you so much for an amazing time!
A nice rooftop space, but their bar is severely lacking. They didn’t even have shot glasses.
Staff didnt know if they closed at 11 or 1130; menu says beers on tap....NOPE none asked about the spicy cashews what was in them, server didnt know nor the cook. I know we are coming off a pandemic but service and knowledge go hand in hand and this was just a poor choice this time as a Hilton Gold member
It looks very promising from the shots i saw on their instagram. Can’t wait for their opening on August 28th and their pre-opening on the 27th.
Disappointed with the whole experience. I was so excited to visit this place on my birthday, but the food, ambience, drinks, view, essentially everything was heart breaking. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone at all.
Upon arrival the receptionist informed us the place was open , at the sand bar a staff member told us that the place wasn’t open but we could wait by the swing as we took pictures . Another staff member walks up to us who states that she is in charge told us to take an elevator and go 23 stories down to wait for 10 mins before the place opens up .We didn’t appreciate why we had to be sent downstairs 10 mins to 4 pm to wait whilst other staff were okay with us waiting at the swing as it was just 10 mins ,by the time we got at the lobby it was 5 mins to .It could be plenty of issues here 1st racial issue, 2 lack of coordination of staff 3.The particular staff member who is not professional or is racist
The most accommodating staff, Celine was absolutely amazing! Not to mention a great view, ambience, drinks, and food made for a perfect evening. Highly recommend!
Cool rooftop bar. A bit cramped, but great on a warm summer night! 🌃Food is actually not that bad too :) Recommend the wild mushroom pinsa - really a small pizza.🍄🍕
The staff and food was amazing, Leon & the people performed 🎭 in front of a small audience, you can also book private parties 🥳 at this location.
There was only 3 other tables when we were there but service was slow. Our server was nice
Beautiful place!!! Very airy but had a roof that can close for inclement weather. Good prices. Friendly staff.
Now this is a great little find on the heart of the fashion district, always busy so best to book , limited tables but cosy sofas and even some quirky swing seats. Great service and some nice smaller plates for food .
This place is amazing. We enjoyed our time there. Staff was professional and inviting. Food and drinks are delicious. The service is great and the place itself is beautiful. Is an oasis in NYC.
Wow at 11:15 when we tried to order another round and they said we are closing down for the night. By 11:30 pm they pull the roof closed and turn the lights on with a basic get out we are closed now. Wish we would have known this when we first arrived then we could have an enjoyable night where we were wanted . Next time do not post hours are until midnight when you close up by 11:30pm
The drinks and ambiance were awesome! On top of that, service was excellent.
Randomly found this when searching for a rooftop bar w friends on a Sunday after football. Great spot/decor, not too crowded, and good service with a fantastic view. Drinks were solid
Awesome , it one of those setting you dont want to miss ,very romantic setting ,your can also view the City from the Rooftop.
Very cute and gorgeous place to spend your night with loved ones, the place was so attractive and makes good photos for Instagram. The pre-paid $25 per head was consumable. Overall experience was GREAT! I highly recommend this place.
Went to Sandbar earlier this summer. Had a great experience so decided to take friends for food and cocktails. Views were beautiful windows need cleaning. First let me say the waitress was super nice an attentive … we arrived and had a 90 minute block. Ordered a round of food and cocktails .. the waitress came back over and apologized for the delay in service due to orders being backed up about 20 mins after being there. No problem-Got our first order food and drinks were very good. We continued to order cocktails and with about 45 minutes left I decided to order more two more pizzas due to the fact my friends drove in to the city. I got one of the pizzas with 10 mins left and had to ask for the second order and got that with under 10 mins left. I asked if we could extend our stay a bit either at this table or another area so we could finish eating and drinking without super rushing… waitress asked manager who said request could not be granted.. as we were given bill and to go box in same instance. So we rushed to eat and pack up paid our 230 bill 275 with tip and went to a small stand up section to finish our drinks. As we walked through the lounge 25 mins later after finishing our drinks and using bathroom we took a few more photos and realized about 60% of the seats were still empty. It left us to wonder they really couldn’t have moved us over somewhere to finish our night for another 20-30 minutes without rushing us out. I understand they have there policies but there service was a bit slow, the place wasn’t packed almost 30 mins later … so I guess we’re done here … the ending was too rushed.
All five stars go to the staff who are amazing. During our time at Sandbar, a tourist who was staying at the hotel sat down at our table without asking, became belligerent and wouldn’t leave. The staff not only got her out but also checked on us repeatedly throughout the night and apologized for the situation even though they did absolutely nothing wrong. They really went above and beyond to make our visit great despite that hiccup. Highly recommend.
Rude manager. I believe the name was Alex. Very unpleasant. Did not appreciate the way he spoke to me. Server was also rude. Drinks incredibly expensive. Don’t bother coming here.
Go here for the cucumber cooler and nautical rooftop vibes 🤩
Nice view, nice vibes, nice drinks
Decent drinks. Excellent decor and music!
Best ambiance around! The manager anelfe was the best and most attentive. Would definitely recommend to come have a good time! Ps is better if you rsvp
Nothing particular but good place to have a drink.
Had an amazing time with my boyfriend at this restaurant. The manager and waitresses went over the top to make our experience absolutely amazing! Our original reservation did not include fondue (by accident) - but they switched our table and allowed us to order it last minute! The cocktails were bomb. Great experience overall.
This place was absolutely wonderful! 10/10 experience. The views were amazing. Food and drinks were extraordinary. The staffs and the manager Onelfi were very accommodating!! Will definitely revisit!
Amazing experience we stayed at the Hilton under the sandbar and went here at least once a day. The manager was amazing and so nice. Staff was so helpful, kind and attentive. Thank you for an amazing trip!!
Amazing views, delicious cocktails, great staff
Heads up they only allow you 90 mins, and it starts the time of the reservation. They are very strict about the time. They will remind you 3 or more times that your time will be up.
This place is awful..they use to be Mykonos Bleu changed the name because of how terrible they use to be. If I would’ve known this after my initial experience I would have NEVER come back to this place. Don’t botherrrrrrrrrr.
Hotel rooftop bar with open and covered areas, boasting a light beach theme. Solid but nothing spectacular.
Terrible place. Worst rooftop in NY, especially the rude manager they have, arguing when pointing out their mess. Everything is terrible, the food, the attention. Avoid at all cost.
Waiting staff were more interested in each other than in taking care of customers. Over priced and quite grubby looking. I cant think of anything positive to say about it really
The view from the sand bar is second to none. Id say eat here atleast once if you visit NYC. Drinks were good and service was absolutely phenomenal.
The place is awesome. The servers are very nice and accommodating. Would recommend.
Totally fell in love with this placeThe service was implacableThe hostess Celine was full of hospitality and really knows how to do her jobCocktails, food and service was on point.I will definitely go back there whenever Im in NYC ❤️👏🙏🏿
Cute rooftop
Frankie was amazing! Highly recommend going here if you want your night to be made!
The food here is really badWe came on a night that was windy so we didn’t enjoy the views because the deck was up.. don’t recommend it
Priceless view on the skyline and yes, the Empire, in a quiet environment. Sublime desserts and drinks. Very kind and welcoming staff. Comfy couches and swings. Overall a cool space, partly open air. Perfect for girls night, a romantic date, or drinks with friends. We had the chocolate tart and an IPA, both very good. Fair prices and great quality of ingredients at such magical spot. Must see!
Great vibes inside and they had a great cheeseboard too!!
Staff wasnt friendly. Felt like I was ignored. Had to find a server to settle up because I was ignored.
Thea told me you guys have mediocre food and drinks. And your Rooftop is just okay.
Great & hip place, amazing view of the city, the staff are super awesome & friendly, very relaxing & trendy vibes
Gorgeous fun rooftop bar with coastal vibe in the middle of the fashion district.
Pretty amazing view and bar service!
Sandbar Rooftop is a hidden gem with a vibrant atmosphere and breathtaking views. The rooftop setting creates a relaxed ambiance perfect for enjoying delicious food and drinks. The menu offers a variety of options, The attentive staff ensures a memorable dining experience. Whether youre looking for a romantic evening or a fun night out with friends, Sandbar Rooftop is the place to be.
Went on a Wed nite so it was very quiet. Nice spot tho
Had a nice vibe, good service and it wasnt crowded ! Thats a rarity in nyc
Had an event there. Be aware that the general manager, John, is completely unprofessional. Despite lots of phone calls and planning, we arrived to the event and the staff knew nothing about it. Chaos for about 30” until things could quickly be organized. Don’t take a chance w an important event. Good chance you will suffer an embarrassment. Fortunately, the staff were quick to cover for the incompetent management
Cool roof top bar. It has a collapsible roof so nice to go regardless of weather if its closed. Comfortable seating and interesting drinks. The only drawback is getting up there, there are 3 elevators that have a button to get up and only one actually takes you there but no way to call just that one.
The Best place in the city. Drinks and bite are 10/10
Beautiful and cozy experience! I loved it! My husband reserved a room for hotel Hilton and this rooftop is on top of the hotel and is super elegant and intimate. It was a Valentines day gift. I really love it. ❤️ I would love to go back!
Great food, tasty drinks, great views, friendly staff
The only good thing going for this place is the view. THATS IT! I reserved a several tables that should have accommodated 75 people. When I spoke with Kaya over the phone, she said she was going to take care of my group and help organize. I repeated several times if they could accommodate 75 people in one sitting and they were just fine with it as long as I reserved the tables. That was not followed the day off. Sandbar rooftop gave us tables/seats that could only accommodate no more than 30 people. Everyone else was standing and had no where to sit. The manager was very stingy and didn’t put even a proper music playlist for anyone to enjoy. A violinist also wanted to play a song and the manager was very rude and obnoxious and told her that she isn’t supposed to play any songs on the rooftop. He only let her play a song. I’ll never host anything at this rooftop again. Imagine I went through a full buyout of the place y’all would have ripped me off BIG TIME. Tips wasn’t even deserved.
Great place and staff, low-key and fun, worth the stop if you are rooftop hopping.
Not very crowded but was unable to sit anywhere besides swing seats… don’t really get why they could not accommodate. We had to share a coffee table to eat and apps are the only real food option
We celebrated there my husbands birthday and it was amazing!! The stuff is great, place is amazing, food is awesome and everyone liked their drinks very much.Celine is the manager there and without her we would not be able to do it. She was the best from the beginning till the last guest! This is a truly awesome place to either go for drinks or have a party
Out of many places to visit in NYC, I had the opportunity to celebrate a special birthday here, the attention was impeccable and the place is beautifully decorated with a great view. Their cocktails are amazing, I definitely recommend the breakwater cocktail or an old fashioned. The food is also tasty and even have a board that is perfect for groups.I want to thank Selin and the team for all they did to make this birthday unforgettable. It was a night for the books.I will definitely be coming back!
Terrible experience ever. Paid upfront for service not they called me to refund my money because if they have a special event, such a bad business minded people.
Very good rooftop lounge !Food was great, and the service was also top !Just the music that was a little bit disappointing. Other than that we had a great time.
Really beautiful space with amazing views. We walked in on a Saturday and were able to get a standing table despite having no reservations. The workers were friendly and our drinks were great. It is expensive but its to be expected.
I made the reservation table for three and paid $75 upfront. 10 minutes before of my reservation time they called me to inform me they have a special event that we’re not gonna be able to use our reservation. I have a friend that came to visit me from far away and it’s not acceptable
Beautiful view. Went here for an engagement party. Good food, good drinks.
Amazing atmosphere. Drinks are very good. Great views of the empire state building and other parts of the city. Has a retractable roof for weather. Mushroom truffle pizza and sushi tower highly recommended. For something different, you can make smores. Most people were dressed in casual wear. I enjoyed this place very much.
Good rooftop spot, not too crowded
Planks instead of tiles for the better beach feeling
Off-putting, overpriced, horrendously rude and glacially slow service. More a place for the Instagram obsessed to take pictures pretending to drink than an actual bar. Highly recommended avoiding.
Good services
Get a good managerThe one here is rude and arrogant.
Beach-themed rooftop with decent drinks. We were here on a rainy night and views were impeded so I can’t comment on that. The service was good, drinks were fine.
Its all a bunch of Mickey Mouse nonsense to get in to dine at this venue. Good luck getting in.
We had the best experience here! Amazing cocktails, beautiful views and tasty food. You can even roast marshmallows at the table. The best rooftop in NYC, what a hidden gem!
Horrible management!!I reserved a table 2 weeks before New Years and just received an email 3 days before my reservation that they will be canceling it. After speaking to Klarissa and Jen, I was confidently offered to eat in their lobby or pay over $400 for tickets to one of their overpriced events. Let’s just hope they can manage giving me a refund. Book with caution as they clearly don’t have anything together.
The drinks were good... Ill pass on the appetizers.
Ok
I am too old for that place. Noisy, flashy. Friendly service though. Go there of you feel like 20-30, and want to feel a show-off atmosphere (not judging, there was a time I liked that). Dont go there to relax. Special mention for the cocktails, really nice. But whatever you do, dont sit on the swings, very much not comfortable, and can lead to embarassing (but funny) situations.
This bar is a mistake - I do not recommend! The prices are high in proportion to value you get. The staff is unprofessional and the manager is so rude and offensive that even the view does not make it up for it. They take your food and drinks away 30 minutes before closure even if you have not finished yet. Do not waste your time for this place - there are many other rooftop bars in NY that are much better.
Service is slow, but the drinks are fine, and the views are more than fine.
Frankie, the director of ops made the sand bar rooftop and the lobby restaurant Chelsea an outstanding experience!! The bartenders/servers Felix and Diana at Chelsea also showed so much love!! Thank you!!
My partner and i have come here multiple times to enjoy the tabletop s’mores and lovely ambience!!selin & kea were lovely hosts, will come back soon :)
Seline is the absolute best manager in NYC. She has such an incredible energy and makes you feel right at home! She makes Sandbar Rooftop even more special than it already is
Good spot to grab some drinks and look over midtown Manhattan. Nice view of the empire state building, which is lit up at night
Took friends in from out of town, on the recommendation of another, a couple of weeks back. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance alone. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The manager, Steve saw to our every request. Looking forward to returning again.By the way, the View alone is spectacular.
Loved the nautical theme on this rooftop! Did not order food but the cocktails were good, although a bit sweet. I booked the week of for a Friday evening - did not have difficulty finding a time on their website so would definitely go back! Note they do require a deposit per person to book the reservation but it is applied to your total check.
Excellent service, everything tasty
What a great hidden gem of a rooftop. Amazing service. Love the apps and drinks we had. It was a company outing. So they accommodate our large group nicely. Awesome place to go.
To be quite honest, it seems this place’s reviews are a bit hyped. I went with 3 friends. It was not a “true rooftop” at the time we were there as they had it mostly covered. The views are nice though. The tables are nicely spread out. They give you a time limit on your table to accommodate reservations. This is fine, except for the fact that it took 10-15 minutes for them to bring our first round of drinks. How are you going to put a time limit and then keep us waiting for the drinks? And then when we still had 10 minutes left at our table, the manager made sure to come over and tell us the next party was here waiting for the table and we had 5 minutes to wrap it up. Again, the time limit is understood, but then be sure to bring drink orders out in a timely manner as to not waste our limited reservation time. In addition, we ordered the traditional margherita pizza and the tasting board. The tasting board was pretty good, but the pizza was not great. For that to be their main option of “entree’” I feel it should be much more flavorful. Maybe the other options of pizza are better, but the traditional was lacking all around. Overall, it’s not particularly a place I’d go again or recommend. There’s plenty of other rooftops and cute cocktail bars with better food and service. The staff were all very nice, just to be clear.
Kind people but maybe we didnt catch a good time bit it was soo quietly, although was full house. No party, good music or anything. The view or scene is better other rooftop bars, it is just good for a calm, peaceful chatty evening wit a cocktail or romantic nite.
The ambience and service was decent, didnt like the fact they ran out of smores.. overall great place to enjoy a nice view and drinks, perfect for dating and group events.
Reservations recommended but well worth it. Great views with a fun menu (recommend the smores platter) and a fun assortment of seating from couches to swings its a fun spot to get together with friends.
Would not even give it a single star. Waitress was rude, was in a major hurry to take the entire order, literally tossed the bill on the table without informing place was closing if last order needed to be placed. To top it all manager Celia went all out and instead of understanding our point she blew it out of proportion. We had such a lousy evening, wished we had not visited this place in the first place !!
What a great lil spot atop of our hotel.....service was great....drinks were well prepared with thought and presentation was awesome......the manager Selin is an absolute gem......so outgoing and knowledgeable........you got to meet her
This is a hidden gem that a lot of people living in New York dont know about. The view is wonderful and the service was great. Reservations are encouraged.
Sandbar was an amazing venue for a group event. The venue was spacious, the staff was incredibly accommodating, and the service was top notch. Would host every event here even when weather is not rooftop prime.
Seline the manager is the best! The drinks were just as good! You must come and see!
Great view. Nice ambiance. Mediocre food. Mediocre cocktails (dont order the long Island iced tea). Stick to something basic like T&T. Try to make a reservation beforehand for Friday or Saturday night. Try the swings. They are too low to the floor, but still fun.
Just meh. They reminded me 3 times in the first 5 minutes of my arrival that I only have 90 minutes on my reservation. Then when I was mid first drink with like 60 minutes to go the waitress came and asked: do you want to get another order before your time runs out?. It seemed like they are more concerned about the turnover than actually giving a good experience. Drinks were average decor is nice. All in all a place that tries to be more than it is - crowd is pretty basic.
Frankie completely turned our night around! Amazing hospitality and environment
Wasnt impressed with outdated scenery. The view was ok minus. Service was good.
The worst place in NY, dont go there, the staff is rude and the menager is worst and the most mean person Ive ever seen working in gastronomy, prices are really high and they have accually nothing to offer. They shoudnt get even 1 star. Dont loose your time, choose every other place, it will be better.
Our waitress, Daniela was great! Selina, you’re a racist individual. Go cater to your white Europeans.oh don’t to take off your shoes…
Excellent atmosphere... our server, Daniella, was very attentive... Margarita pizza was very good... wild Mushroom pizza was excellent... definitely look forward to revisiting...
OK is how i describe this place, ambiance wasn’t crazy, food was blah, the view was OK, drinks were good tho.
Great drinks, music, and ambience. The watermelon margarita was perfect. We also had the flatbreads, which were a great size and tasted amazing. We will defining be going back soon.
We had excellent, quick service. Everything tasted great, and the atmosphere was very fun!
Cocktails were average - not too memorable. I switched to wine after trying a variety of ~5 cocktails. The waitress was obviously up selling us as soon as we got to the table - offered shots (which we got), prompted us to get better alcohol instead of house (which we did); and yet service was still extremely slow. We had to ask for water multiple times. Our food came out before drinks.Mushroom pizza was pretty good; better than the pepperoni, tomato and pepper one (tasted like Subway).Instagramable place; cool views; but overpriced and service sucked. Would go back if the night option presented itself but not necessarily dying to go back.
Aces 5 Star very good drinks
It was definitely a good idea to try this bar out
Food was not good and the place was very small and limited view. But the vibe was good
I live couple blocks away, first time visiting their rooftop. The front desk literally yell at me with high pitch “look at the sign, seriously?” WHILE I was walking into one of the elevators. Who does that? They should simply direct me to the right elevator leading to the rooftop.Worst. I am ashamed to know that my city’s hospitality is so bad. This Hilton doesn’t deserve your money.
Very cozy and cute rooftop. The food was average but def 5 star for the ambiance.
Lounge with marvelous views of midtown, with a warm and pleasant decor, crafted cocktails and fondue oh so satisfying on a cold winter evening
Fun spot! Could use more food options.
Love the ambience and drinks are amazing!Service can be better.
Management is prejudiced and racist. Once the manager asked a group of POC if they planned to tip before they even finished their experience and they gave no reason other than not being white to think they weren’t gonna tip. Also Drinks are over priced and not very good.
If you are interested in seeing video and a review, I have left a detailed description on my youtube channel. Its called Escaping the Empty nest. In short, the Sandbar has a reasonable minimum spend, but once you get up there you dont have much time to spend before they kick you out. Also, the food is sub-par and expensive, even for new york standards.
Ive been to Sandbar Rooftop a couple times now. Theyve pretty much been consistent in their service both times. Thats a good thing and a bad thing as youll see.Their COVID-19 precautions were great. They kept all of the parties well separated. It helps that theyre obviously open-air when the weather permits. They provided hand sanitizer at each table as well. This is of major importance and they did that well. The waitresses were STELLAR each time. They were attentive, genuinely pleasant and very accommodating. So kudos to them for positively adding to the experience. As far as food and drink goes, their menu changed slightly between the first time I visited and the second time. I remember having the Ditch Plains cocktail both times and the ingredients and presentation had changed. Both were still good though. Id also recommend the Ocean Road (Vodka, Passion Fruit, Lime, Ginger Beer, Candied Ginger). On my second trip to Sandbar, I was with a larger group so we sampled a lot more of the food including the picnic tasting board, the pinsa/pizza (Margherita, Spicy Sopressata and Vegan) and the antipasto. It was all great!Youre probably wondering what went wrong. Ill try to explain: Theyre very strict with their reservation/table times. Thats not an issue in and of itself. The issue is that there is no area to continue the visit if you would like to stay longer. You cant hang out by the bar nor is there any other lounge area. So when youre time is up, youre summarily kicked out. We tried speaking with gentlemen in blazers (managers?) but they wouldnt accommodate further time. It didnt help that they were a little cold/curt in speaking with us. That same coldness was felt on both visits in the end and the reason I pulled a star.Bottom Line: Go and visit! Its a little expensive but for the most part its worth it. I recomment heading through in the summer.
Beautiful place , great ambiance and great drinks
Celine was professional, sweet and accommodating. Would only come back for her.
Please don’t waste your time or money. The place was cute however the food tasted very bland and basic. Drinks were COMPLETELY watered down and not good. Items were overpriced. The ambiance was non existent. Very boring and not what I expected AT ALL. 2 stars fr the swings decorations.
Complete pass. Arrived at the place based on an Instagram review. They must have paid for it because the place is a C at best. The only thing keeping it from a F- is that is ia a roof top.To many amazing options close by. Go elsewhere. We arrived around 530p on a Saturday. The place was at less than 50% occupancy. Yet, they insisted on placing our party of three at a two person setup. Rude.Beyond this, they had the windows shut and did not have the ac on. The place was a sauna - break a sweat hot. We opted to leave.Ezy, the floor manager, was rude to my party and the one in front of us. Customer service is not his strong suit. When we left another couple left as well and the only sizable party they had left as well.To add insult to injury the uniforms are horrendous. Very 1950s nursing home. I dont know who the are catering to.Pass.
Most of the staff from the hotel and the rooftop are rude. They create an uncomfortable atmosphere.
I really like this place, but wish their music was better, especially on the weekend.
