Parkside Lounge

This place is a gem. Well located in the lower east side, it offers booth great ambience and well priced drinks. They attract a really good roster of international DJs who play in the back room in a very intimate environment. Highly recommend it.

Parkside Lounge is, and has been, my favorite bar in all of NYC. They ALWAYS ask me if I need a charge on my phone, serve me cold beers, and offer a great vibe. If I were being followed by a maniac, the first thing Id do is find Parkside Lounge. I know Id be safe, have many alcoholic, and non-alcoholic options, and be amongst friendly folk. If you want the best afternoon/night ever, go to Parkside Lounge. Also...make sure to have your ID stating you are 21 years of age...like a grown up...because thats how you enter a beautiful establishment such as this!

Ive been perfoming at and hosting at Parkside for years - I just started my own series there and it has been the most seamless of experiences working with Gavin (and Dex by extension!). Im given freedom to curate the way I want and have been able to create a safe space for all artists thanks to the great management. I love all of the Bartenders, Chaz the bouncer, and everyone in between. A wonderful home away from home~! Thanks for everything yall!

Went here to listen to a friend Felix Guzman read his poetry and ending loving this little gem with two bars, pool table, performance stage and and all-day until 8pm Happy Hour. What more can you ask of a local watering hole. Too bad I live a $45 Uber ride away or I would come more often than I can.

One of the last real dive bars in the LES.Good beer selection, even better prices. Unpretentious and genuine.Whenever I’m down this way, I somehow always find myself having a drink here.

We love this place. Fellow patrons are friendly. Drink prices are gentle. The vibe is chill. The music is fun. The door person is respectful. The juke box is great. A solid night out or just pop in for a beer.

Coming back to try the food. But I absolutely love their frozen espresso martini. The bartenders are absolutely incredible and nice . Beautiful bar and beautiful atmosphere. I’m so excited to visit again❤️🙏🏼

I moved to the LES in mid-March and have been on the hunt for a reliable dive I can go to from time to time. While there are no shortage of bars in this part of town, most are either very crowded or very pricey. This spot is a breath of fresh air. The happy hour prices are unbeatable and theres ample seating inside as well as outside. The bartender is super friendly and they have a decent selection of drinks. Whats not to love? I think its safe to say Ive found my neighborhood spot.

Hands down one of the best and most authentic dive bars in the city. Classic vibe, cheap drinks and shots, pool table and shows in the back. You won’t find many places like this, especially in this neighborhood which has no shortage of bars but mostly filled with more pretentious places.

Parkside Lounge is a very laid back, low key place to get your drink on during happy hour, without breaking the bank. The beer choices for $4 drafts were not my cup of tea, as I prefer the IPA variety, so I just elected for mixed drinks instead. Im glad I did. Not only was the Bartender spot on with her mixtures during happy hour (well pours for HH prices), but she was really cool too. The music selection was of a more Rock and Blues vibe, and theres a pool table in the back. The bar stools are not that comfortable, and could use some TLC. I didnt order food, as this was the aperitif spot before heading on to a restaurant in the area.My rating is based more on my drinking experience there, service and very fair pricing model.

Great bar and the drinks/entertainment is solid. Dogs allowed. Gavin runs a damn good bar with an amazing team behind him. Rhamel, Jodi, Pam… the list goes on.

If you are in the neighborhood, good place to meet with friends. Prices are very inexpensive. There are tables along the wall and in the back. The front is one big bar. I went with a group of friends. We ordered pitches of beer. There is a large extensive list of beers and other alcoholic drinks. I would not order food at this bar. Service was good. We had fun. We ate at another restaurant. There is a person at the door checking identification. If you look like you might be underage, then make sure to carry your I.D. : )

Ive been going to the Parkside for over ten years and it never disappoints. Such a great mix of people and performances in the back room - Ive seen everything from burlesque to plays to Harry Potter themed rock nights (!!!) and love their trivia nights at the bar too. The bartenders are always friendly and they also make the best Bloody Mary - pickled green beans, fresh horseradish - I seriously crave them. So many of my NYC haunts have bit the dust and Im so glad the Parkside is still going strong.

The staff here is horrible. Every single staff member, including the manager (except the male bartender that started at 9PM on 2/13, he was extremely polite) were an absolute nightmare to either me or other patrons, including to the groups performing. They were either extremely rude or condescending, and when I missed part of the show I paid to see to inform the manager of my experience within my first 10 minutes of being there he immediately made excuses for his employees behavior. He stated something very similar to the owners responses to negative reviews Ive read here by saying youre the first person to ever complain about that employee, then excusing his behavior due to the issues they have getting patrons to buy a mandatory drink, which we were in the middle of ordering so it made zero sense. They also seem to flip flop between their credit card minimums depending on how much youre paying to upsell you, the first bartender told me the minimum was $20 and the second an hour later told me $10. The worst experience Ive had in a long time, my first and last time coming here and Id be surprised if theyre still in business a year from now.

Parkside Lounge is a great local bar. They alwaus have a show going on in their back room. There are a few arcade games in the main area as well as a pool table. Service can be slow if you are in the backroom but the drinks and experience is always good. There is no food, so if you are coming to see a show eat before or have something to munch on.

Who goes to see a musical at a bar and gets two free drinks??? ::points to self::In my pursuit of plays via Show-Score, I end up in strange places seeing weird things. Not today! This was choice!The Lounge has quite a large performance room in the rear. Thats where I saw Wild Women of Planet Wongo. Standing-room only, fully immersive with lots of audience participation. Your ticket comes with a free drink ticket with the chance to win prizes during the show. If they ask you to volunteer for the intermission activities... DO IT. Great production values and some surprisingly catchy songs. So much fun!The front is kinda like a sophisticated dive... the pool table is too well maintained to make it a true dive. Foosball table, large screen TV with sports-ball, electronic jukebox, & Ms. PAC-MAN round it off nicely. Two booths, high-tops and a full-length bar to sit at. Roomy. I wish this was my neighborhood bar.

Barista thought my Italian boyfriend wasnt going to tip her for our small glasses of wine. (Im from Jersey.) Said You know, we tip here in America. We responded Yes, we know. We wanted a second to think about it. She shot back Thats really rude. Then she loudly talked to another customer about how rude French people are until we left. She got her tip, although she deserved $0.

I have gone to this bar on several occasions Today I attempted to go in and the bouncer asked me if I was ok. I understand this because I have a speech problem which sometimes gets mistaken as being drunk. I tried explaining this to him and he came across as understanding however the manager insisted I was drunk. A young lady who was a customer decided to speak up and said I was clearly I was not drunk. The manager did not want to hear this and was very rude to me. I finally said I do not want to wish to give him my business and he closed the door on me. I recommend you go to this bar as long as you do not have a speech impedement .

I came alone to this bar while being followed and the owner made it incredibly clear that as the only black woman in the bar, I was unwelcome.This was as I tried to order a Mocktail at their bar or really anything at all since I simply needed a place to charge my phone and be safe for a moment. The owner began to ask why I don’t charge it somewhere else, even as a paying customer (mind you I was willing to spend any amount since I was being followed) and then proceeded to yell at me using stereotypical black language lol. Extremely new and racially charged bar- I personally would go down the street unless you’re someone this owner feels is worth time by his own standards

This is a local dive bar. It has resisted gentrification so far and hosts skeeball and a billiards table. Theres a small performance area in the back for that is surprisingly isolated from the bar music in the front and vice versa. I come here mostly for shows that are organized by musical friends.

Cool bar with a nicely redone stage area in the back. Some great local acts come through here. Fun fact: Flight of the Conchords filmed their live segments at the stage here!

One of the best spots in the LES. Drinks are priced right, bar tenders know what theyre doing, and always something interesting happening in the performance space. Definitely stop by if youre in the area.

Went to a show called the Wild Wongo and it was really fun. Im surprised at what theyre able to do with the space. I will definitely be back for other events. They also have a pool table. Pretty spacious place.

I showed up with a group of 13 coworkers post softball game for a quick drink - mind you the bar was empty. I asked if we could have a table (we didn’t all need seats just a table for a few to sit down and place our things). There were two 6 tops free and the bouncer immediately said “no room inside you can sit outside”. We tried to explain again that we didn’t need seats for all of us and he was insistent on us being outside. We go outside and have to ask a table to move to accommodate us. Everytime we walked inside they ID’d us…We then tried to order pitchers (they didn’t have) totally fine! We order 10 beers…my coworker said in a joking way “oh things aren’t going as planned” the manger goes “excuse me? You can leave” and proceeded to pour out six of the full bud lights as we tried to tell her that it was a light hearted joke. She then said “you’ve been rude since you got here you can leave!” Will never got back - I’m not quite sure where they get off thinking they can not only turn down paying customers for no reason but also waste product but good luck!

Walked in and it immediately smelled like a locker room. Walked right out... If it didnt smell like someone died after doing hot yoga for 24 hours, it would be a cool place to hang out.

Backroom bartender on point, place was a bit small but cozy. Sound system was good and bassy but clear.

I have been a fan of Parkside for years. Its the last of the truly local bars in the Lower East Side. In the back room open mic events and art reign. In the front, the pool table and the photo booth are my faves. I know the owner (full disclosure) and can personally attest to his years of bartending skill and his love of a good time being had by all.

Neighborhood dive with live music. Good vibes and minimal. No food, name is a legacy name of a place that used be here in the 50s.

New favorite dive bar. Fun atmosphere, pool table, cheap drinks, good happy hour, and events in the back.

Awesome bar and experience! Sat outside with my dog and the waitress was very friendly and nice to my pup. Very reasonable prices and great outdoor Covid friendly space. Will be back!

I went to Parkside Lounge for a meetup in the back room. The acoustics were good, the live music was nice, the atmosphere was conducive to conversations with friends, and the drinks were decently priced. But it was just that: average. There was a 20 dollar minimum charge for cards.

I showed up with my SERVICE DOG, papers and all, for a drink out. The bouncer denied me coming in with my dog, and when I said this is a service dog and I have all her papers, he said “I don’t want to hear it” and told me to leave.Absolutely unacceptable - and illegal. I have been coming to this place for ages with friends. I will now never return here.

The white male manager with the accent wasEXTREMELY Racist, hostile and condescending. After leaving a networking event, we walked into this establishment to get a couple shots as we waited for a friend to get an Uber since it was after 11pm. Everyone knows nyc hasnt been as safe. He asked for ids and we complied. He asked for the third id to which she responded, one second because she needed to pull her wallet from her bag. He immediately got disrespectful and assumed we werent making a purchase because she was the one person getting an Uber. He started making yapping motions with his hand to mimic me as | tried to advocate for us and explain that he had the wrong idea and therefore there was no need to be disrespectful. He even slipped in a few insults and slurs. Told me that he doesnt need our money and to get out.We asked him if he has sisters or aunts he would want to see be able to get home safely as we did our friend.The response was that he didnt care!!!This is what is wrong with the city now, no community or will to protect one another. As three young women, it shouldnt be an issue to stand somewhere for 3 minutes to make sure someone gets home safely. And if a purchase was required, then that shouldve been mentioned respectfully right away. This is exactly why I dont like going out in nyc anymore. All these establishments constantly make it hard for black people to feel welcome and safe.

The environment was good, great atmosphere, really good vibes. But the bartender at the front was being annoying. She wanted a tip for every drink I would order but I wasn’t even done with my tab. Towards the end she didn’t want to continue serving me because she wanted a tip every time.

People seem to RAVE about this place, but eh. Its okay. Very narrow entrance and exit (unless you want to use the street patio), in which case they kick you out of there at 12 due to city ordinance.The nearest train is about 5 blocks away. Drinks are the usual price (however I got a fly in one of mine, but they comped the next one 🤷🏻‍♂️)The busser seems to be having a bad night every night... or just like ignoring me/ being salty.Otherwise, a chill place. Its fine, but I wouldnt go out of your way for it. So many better places to go.

This place would be solid but every single time I’ve been there the bouncer will come up to us around midnight or so and tell us someone reserved the pool table and we can’t use it anymore. Or they stop us at the entrance and say the whole place is reserved. Whack to do that type of stuff on a weekend.

A bit too professional for a dive bar .The bathrooms were terrible but hey its a dive bar and there were atleast four people with pet dogs there.lol frozen margaritas will sneak up on you

Im including music here with my atmosphere review. The lounge isnt the most swanky, but the addition of music really makes this a great hang out. If I get tired of the show Ill watch the pool table for a while, though Ill probably never get a chance to play it with the line. I prefer to get there earlier and pregame through happy hour before the main set starts. $3 well drinks are about as good as it gets in the city. Plus, if youre one of those cool vinyl kids, theyve got a record swap on Mondays.

I was recently here for the Inspired Word event, in support of a friend, and I had a pretty great time. The drinks were affordable and the bartenders were efficient, attentive and helpful. It’s a pretty cool venue spot as well.

The new manager is awful. Yells at customers and complains about money. He clearly is interested in cutting costs and will bend anyone’s ear about it. Used to be my favorite place. Now the atmosphere is tense and uptight.Used to love seeing live music there. Will think twice before going back. That dude sucks so bad he can really ruin the whole night.

This bar is still checking vaccine cards in April 2022, long after the outdated and discriminatory “vaccine passport” ended. It’s a shame because it’s an otherwise decent bar, but we have to speak up against this gestapo hygiene theater or else it will never end. No, I will not show you my medical records, and you will not have my business.

This is definitely a dive bar but it is also kind of ghetto looking. The pro is the drinks here are cheap. The downside is the bartenders are not very creative. I am expecting so I asked them if they could make me a Virgin drink and what they came up with is quite boring and really sweet. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive and unpretentious and possibly dangerous bar to hang out at, this will be a good spot.

This place is a corner stone of the community for a reason. They have have a terrific performance space and affordable drinks. Side note; I recommend coming here during the week to avoid the massive crowds.

Although it looks like another dive bar, Parkside Lounge is a bit more. First of all, the prices. Theyre great! Even after happy hour its very affordable. Interior screams dive bar with vintage looking wall accessories, foosball and a pool table. There is also another, more intimate room in the back where you can hear live music. Staff is attentive and will take a good care of you. The only thing I didnt like is that music was a bit random, but thats definitely not a deal breaker in any way.

Sure, this is a dive bar, but not in a filthy, dreary way. This is a place you could walk in to at any hour of the day and be greeted by some of the friendliest folks and patrons ever! We visited on St. Patricks Day and it wasnt even fully packed, just not a destination for the sloppy crowd. Our group of 14 was able to get in, order a few pitchers of beer, enjoy an hour or so of the bars company and get out, all under $60! Im not kidding!I was a big fan of the photo booth, foosball table right up front and clean restrooms in the rear, because ladies, you know thats whats important along with cold beer!

Pretty cozy spot, not too crowded. Female bartender was absolutely wasted when I arrived at 2AM. She was also very rude when it was time for them to close, yelling for people to get out and proceeding to push me and others towards the door not even a minute after closing.

Drinks were ok, but the bartender was not only rude, but also racist. Ordered a beer and tipped a dollar but made a snarky remark about expecting a bigger tip (for a $7 beer). He gave me a nasty look while wiping the counter with my tip. Never coming back again.

Horrible staff, rude bartender and waiter. Would never go back nor would I ever recommend anyone go to this bar. Stay away at all costs, everyone that works there is rude.
