Went to LPR last night for a Yukimi (lead vocalist from Little Dragon) show and the experience was amazing. My friend and I both came in wheelchairs and the staff did such a good job taking care of us.Had the perfect accessible section for us with an awesome view of the band. Close enough actually to meet them on the way out.Was my first time back to LPR in years (lived on Waverly for a few months) but will not let it take so long the next time around. Thanks team!
What a fun night! Went to the 90s hip hop and R&B event and had the best time. The bar is small but never too crowded, the DJ was on point with his music, and the crowd great. Zero hostility and people who can handle their drinks and music. Will def be back!
LPR (Le Poisson Rouge)Est. 2008Layout/atmosphere*Downstairs from entrance - bar area, high tables, coat check ($4 per item); performance room - red lights, disco ball, bar stage left, tables in back on elevated stage where sound equipment is located; in the the back are couches and a TV near the bathrooms; general admission; good acousticsFood/drink*No food menuSeen here:*Dengue Fever/Salt Cathedral (8/15/24)
Came here for a concert for Jamie Miller and it was a great show! The venue itself isn’t as conventional as just a stage and open floor. There were seated tables (first come first serve). Luckily we bought the table seatings so we were able to sit comfortably. The only requirement for seating is that each person needs to order at least 2 items. The menu itself had a decent amount of options for drinks but as for the food options, it was slightly pricier. There were definitely interesting choices for the food (such as cupcakes and mini pickles — which we ordered lol). Overall, it was a nice venue! Would come here again for another concert!
Very cool venue, the stage is very nice, i was a PREP concert in october 2023
Small and intimate. Perfect for people who wanna mosh and hop on/off stage. Gender inclusive bathrooms. Seats available. Bar staff is plenty friendly but maybe could use more man power
Had a blast seeing Action Bronson w/HGH. LPR was your typical general admission venue. If u want to be at the stage lineup early(respectable and amazing staff working the line) and don’t expect to go get drinks or use the bathroom. But that’s what you sacrifice for being close. Sound was amazing!!!
The security staff here was incredibly rude. They claimed I threw up (despite no physical evidence of vomit anywhere, and despite a bartender telling them that I had not done this), snatched my WATER away, physically grabbed me and kicked me out. They literally pointed at an empty patch of floor when they claimed I threw up lol. They then claimed it was all just because the event was over, and that they were just trying to get people out. In their defense, the event was scheduled to end 15 mins after this, BUT: they did this, instead of simply asking me to finish my water and leave. I do not recommend going here.
Even with a wonderful program with terrific artists, this is a difficult venue. The service for food is extremely sparse and poorly responsive to the tables. The menu itself is extremely limited. It is not an uncomfortable venue, but it is rather infantile to give people armbandsto make them wait in line when it’s not at all necessary. Nonetheless, if it’s a terrific artist that you want to hear I think this is a good enough venue for that experience. But if you’re not familiar with the artist, this is not a venue that would allow you to maximize your experience and information.
It’s a fun venue when you are going to see a specific show. Enough bathrooms and space to move around. Drinks are very pricey and the crowd skews pretty young (early 20s).
Small venue but in the best way. Im not a fan of huge places for a music concert, especially the ones with seats. This was a very open and close to everything venue. From what i can see not alot of rock bands on the line up but i was fortunate enough to make an anniversary show for The Bled with a few friends. After the show a few of the band members were hanging out scattered throughout the main dance floor area. I bought a poster and took it as a sign. I was able to get each member to sign it one at a time. I normally wouldnt just bother these guys but the opportunity was there that you just dont get in other venues. They were all nice enough to oblige and made it a very memorable show for me. What could easily be the last time i see them. In my opinion they could do with more shows like this. Underground heavy metal bands. Had a cbgbs vibe. I would def go back for simular shows.
Great small venue for intimate shows. Saw Mac Ayres there he was amazing.
Really cool venue/restaurant. Recently went to a small concert there and they had a selection of tables that were able to order food. I didn’t know that the tables would be in front of the stage otherwise i would’ve gotten a seat. It would be helpful to have a map in the website but not sure how often they change it.
For Andy Summers, though Ive been several times before. Nice staff, intimate venue. This time they had tables out when every time. I have been there in the past, it was all standing.
The venue had a beautiful performer tonight. Jesse J. LPR packed us in like cattle. No seating standing only, They opened the door at 6:30. The show started at 8:30. People pushing and shoving to try to get to te stage area. No security keeping people safe. It was not worth going even though the performance was great the manager of LPR only cared about making money and selling booze.
Totally awesome venue! Went to see Frontline Assembly here I waited 15 years to see them! I like the decour it is almost this purple tint that burgundy type reflection that sets a romantic mood but also a darkness that only a venue like this can have. I really enjoyed the experience there and there is seating that not only looks stylish but gives you comfort and sense of being part of the underground music movement. I hope I made at least one friend here from the show and definitely enjoyed the experience. I ran into Bill Leeb before the show started it was a brief encounter outside the venue. But Ill never forget how cool the experience of being here was. It really felt a lot like that scene from the Matrix when Trinity, encounters Neo for the first time. What an awesome event thanks for the memories!
Just arrived for a show. I scoured the website for information about food. There was none mentioned. Now I arrive for “ premium seating” to find that most are taken and our group has to sit scattered amongst others. There is a sign on the table that says “ dear seated guests Seats are available on a first come first serve basis. There is a minimum purchase of two menu items per person required. A gratuity of 20%will be added to all checks.”There is no visible menu. The information above was nowhere on the website. I feel very badly treated by this venue. All they had to do was tell us this in advance so we wouldn’t have eaten dinner elsewhere before arriving.
Like the space, its history (the location was formerly the legendary jazz venue The Village Gate), and the range of music presented at LPR. Ive enjoyed every program I attended there.
Great venue, amazing sound system, and tons of bathrooms, so no annoying long lines. The dance floor is very spacious and tons of room to move around.
Went for a Chappell roan night was so excited and it was closed. Drove an hour and a half just to have to go to a random different bar. Very disappointing.
Went to a Greg Laswell October 1. and it was amazing. The service is fast and the atmosphere is really awesome. There is a table minimum of 2 items pr. person and you can only pay by credit card. A gratuity of 20% + tax 8.75 is added to all checks. Cocktails $15 / beer $7/8 (+tip and tax).
Cool venue near NYU, easy walking distance to 6, B,D, F trains, friendly staff, good sound system. Just wish stage was up higher was a bit difficult to see the band with tall dudes standing in front of me.
Saw Son Little general admission. Fabulous venue. The bar staff was kind and considerate. The music fabulous.
Came to LPR for Sasha Velour’s Nightgowns show and it was epic. Now, the venue makes you (obligatory) buy 2 items per person off their menu if you are sitting down to watch a show, I don’t drink so I had to pay $10 for a very sad and not so good cupcake…
Went to see Domi and JD Back. The show was amazing!!!, but the venue had a vip area that was blocked even tho there was no space for the regular people, and in my opinion thats kind of lame. Whats the point of preventing people enjoy art freely and equally?
Saw a few shows here, the last being pre pandemic Peter Murphy doing a David Bowie set. Sound was good and you can see from pretty much anywhere because the stage is nice and high.
Went to see Off!s 2nd to last show. Had a blast!
Abusive and toxic security staff. Why would you host a punk show and not expect people to crowd surf, only to get aggressive and shove them off the stage where they could get SERIOUSLY injured? I witnessed this female security guard with blond hair shove a guy off the stage, not even allowing him to walk off on his own, followed by all of the security guards bullying him afterwards when he got upset about it. Completely unprofessional and unprovoked.
I saw Jeff Goldblum here and this venue is great! Very intimate setting and the staff are so kind.
Gimme Gimme Disco was amazing! I definitely will go back to it again, and this club venue is so nice. We had a great time celebrating my birthday 🥳
Such a cool place - bigger than a listening party, smaller than a full blown concert.Beautiful venue
Went to the Gimme Gimme Gimme Disco night ! Wow - what a great event with a great band and atmosphere! Well worth the $$
Gimme Gimme Disco was so much fun! Not a bad venue imo, a great time, and great music, and it wasnt super packed.
Ive been attending shows since 74 and have seen every Miyavi show in NYC. In the true spirit of rock and roll venues, this place is a dump. Thats not bad in itself (CBGBs was a dump, too), but technical problems ruined a 20th anniversary show by Miyavi. The start was delayed about 30 min and stopped a few times during the show. Staff tried to correct/replace mix issues (an acoustic guitar that could not be heard) or defective wireless mics (they buzzed, crackled, or simply did not work). They never succeeded. The NYC audience did not hear 9 songs that Miyavi had to eliminate in order to make a hard 9:30PM curfew to accommodate an 11PM disco party at the venue. Many of those lost songs were last played live in 2010 (Irving Plaza) - if at all. While Miyavi did his best and apologized over and over, he could not relieve the venues failures. What a loss for the dedicated sold-out audience!Yes, the place is small (which means shoulder-to-shoulder and sweaty heat for a sold-out show), and youre standing on plywood, but thats cool for rock and roll because its all about the music and the performance. Bull**** equipment should never happen. Things break. Contingencies and functional redundant equipment should be in stand-by. Saying sorry does not compensate for a lost moment in time. There are differences between a rock and roll dump and a regular dump. On this night, Le Poisson Rouge was the latter.
We had a blast at Hank Azarias EZ Street Band debut!
Last night 6/22 at The Early November show I witnessed a secuirty guard get unnecessarily combative with a crowd surfer. Woman was black with (tacky imo) blond hair in an updo. She also added a hazard into the situation by roping off the side stage so that crowd surfers could exit, which is what this man was trying to doIf no crowd surfing is permitted, they need to have signage up and remove everyone who crowd surfs from the venue, not just the person this miserable looking woman seemed to take issue withVenue is also way too cold, every damn time
Such a fun venue with a bar! Loved the Gimme Gimme Disco night.
Great venue for alternative shows.
Amazing place for party and chilling with friends! Nice service and always great music!
Great small venue. Easy ticket purchases— easy going crowds.
Had a ton of fun for my birthday!!!
We came for Drag Queen bingo and had a great time. $10 for a set of cards. There were silly prizes and and fabulous hostess.I had a delicious salad but be aware there is a two item order minimum. Cocktails were not cheap $15 but my cousin loved her spicy Margarita!
Always a great time in LPR.I’ve seen a handful of concerts here and their sound and light were always good. It can be hairy at the entrance though as it seems to be understaffed whenever I attend a concert. It would benefit from having a door host each for the guestlist, ticket buyers and pre ticketed guests.
Decent sized space for smaller shows. Draft beer $11 or so. Air conditioning was on point despite the fact that the place was packed. Great sound, average lighting. Id absolutely go back here for another show.
Staff was very efficient. Once there was a good amount of people lined up outside, they started checking IDs and scanning tickets before the doors opened. It was very hot outside the night we attended, so their willingness to speed up the process of getting us inside was very much appreciated. Sound was great from the performers and the all gender bathrooms were clean.
Came here for a concert Thursday night and thought the space was decent, not too crowded and the sound system was good. Had a great experience and will come back again if there are other events happening here that I’d be interested in seeing.
Wonderful intimate venue. Expansive bar with plenty of bartenders and alcohol options.
Good place, good songs.🫶🏽We were at the emo concert.🤘🏽15th of December.🎵
Great place with friendly staff and fair drink prices. RONEs concert was amazing! 👌
The only time I went here was for a 21+ event that popped up on a ticket app. It was on a holiday weekend. Rather casual spot which was surprising considering it’s a decent place. It reminded me a bit the crowd in Brooklyn, but less grimy. The sound system could be better as it just shook the entire dance floor. I’m willing to go again for another event.
Went here for art battle, really cool place! Much larger interior than I expected, good sound system, all in all a good place to see a show.
Flew into town from California for work. I was able to catch and see Felix Hernandez do his thing with the rhythm review classic soul set. I wish LA had more of this kind of vibe. This is one of the things that I miss most after leaving Brooklyn NY for California.
Awsome venue! Very intimate.
Dope venue that is well ventilated and a comfortable temperature. Not many places like that!
Overall a really cool venue. Went there to go see the Naked and Famous. Drinks were at an above average price but the staff was very professional.
Nice venue, you can get close to stage very easily. The bar was very accommodating, there wasnt much of a wait even though the place was packed. Will definitely go to an event there again.
Came to see the Cruel Intentions show, which was great. The two item minimum per person was a little obnoxious since I’d just eaten, but I certainly understand the need to make profit in the space. My cider was great but the tater tots I ordered were a little stale and not particularly warm or flavorful.
A truly fantastic experience. Really cool venue in a nice area, friendly staff, and reasonable enough drink prices when factoring in both NYC and concert pricing. The sound quality was top-notch and Ive never been to a show that kept you as comfortably cool as this one did. Id definitely love to come again for the right act.
Who knew this huge beautiful venue was down in this basement?
Nice venue, decent sound, great bartenders. The crowd it drew varied quite a bit from what the band typically would, and they practically ruined the show trying to talk through and Instagram every moment of it.
Great venue! I was at the back by the mixing station and its still the closest Ive ever been to Peter Murphy
Been here a few times for different events and each one of them was good. The bartenders, servers and just in general people that work there are all quality people that are very attentive.. My only thing is its very cold in there for whatever reason. Otherwise great spot!
Drinks are overpriced. When the lights are on this whole venue looks sad ash. Music was fine, I don’t really enjoy this place though.Bathrooms have been clean at least the last few times I’ve been.
I loved this little spot. Very classic standing room only venue with some seating in the back. Sound and lighting on point... Bar was decent, quick attentive bartenders.
Fun and low key Gimme Gimme Party on selected dates. Perfect for having fun and dancing. Very young crowd.
Went to see Zola Jesus last Thursday and it was amazing. The drinks were expensive of course, but I know this kind of places always have expensive drinks. The ambience was cool and dark. The The sound was really good, Zola was phenomenal, she sang with her piano, did some opera and played with her band and it was a really incredible experience. Love it.
Great venue. The Art Battle was cheap and very fun.
Lovely intimate show venue. The tables are beautiful & the drinks are delicious. The show I attended had a two drink minimum which is easy to accumulate. The staff were very helpful with me and my walker. The accoustics arent amazing but it doesnt matter if the artist is playing a low key show. The one I saw had only a piano and it was the perfect venue for it. Though it is inside & vaccination cards were necessary.
Great venue, interesting acts, good sound & friendly staff.
Venue itself is pretty cool. Seen a few brass bands here and they have this round stage giving the audience a chance to be up close and a view around the bands. Sound is really acoustic I think because of the round room and stage.Bar drinks are pretty overpriced for the weird little cups you get, felt a little like a college party, but with smaller plastic cups.
Great venue to watch live performances. We were sitting in seats farthest away from the stage on the main floor and we still felt very close and intimate with the performers. The bartenders make excellent cocktails! Theres room to dance in the back if you were so inclined. Im definitely coming back to see other shows.
1st time at this venue, easy to reach nice size comfortable even if you are standing. Bartenders were great, acoustics as well.
Came here for the first time this week to see FAUN. I would definitely come here again but the next time I will get the VIP tickets and have the option to be seated on the platform at the back of the room with excellent sightlines to the stage. It also gives you the option to not only order drinks at a table but also from a small food menu before the set starts. Very nice vibe.
Very small but cozy place, went for a Kpop concert/party event and everything went well :)))
Drinks very expensive. Space is roomy. LPR Site coordination good, accomodations good. Acoustics great considering extreme base accommodations.Dispensary 2 blocks away. Recommend.
Fairly small venue for concerts in a basement on Bleeker St.The sound in this place is pretty good. Great place to see some talented bands in a fairly intimate setting. This location is bigger than the original, even if its larger. The place also has a decent bar with a polite staff.
Do Not ever book the standing room only tickets. You’re either smushed against the loud bar (a new keg install shot beer into my eye, bartender gave me napkins) where it’s loud, or against the side wall where you’re getting bumped into over and over.If we had had the seated tickets, it would have been better. Now we saw a piano show, had it have been a rock concert or rap show, maybe a different story.
Great venue. Plenty of space for what its marketed towards and getting service at the bar isnt difficult. Lounge area available to cool off and decompress if needed. Ideal layout. Expensive bar tho
I would say the service was absolutely awful, but we weren’t even served during our 2-hour event. We were one of the first tables to sit for a comedy show and weren’t even acknowledged. Our server was overwhelmed and taking care of all the other tables in his area. We called over another server who stated our server would be with us. As 15 minutes go by she realized he was not going to make it over so she took care of us. Unfortunately, at this point, we were only able to have a round of drinks. No opportunity for a second or even some food. After attempting to email the facility and reach out to someone, they failed to show any concern and also proceeded to tell me my phone call with someone from the venue was fabricated, even though I have a valid screenshot of the call - dates and times included. They even verified that I called the correct number. But yes, please continue to tell me I’m wrong. ALMOST as comical as the comedy show I had attended at LPR.Do not believe the website. Food is not served for sit down events - only drinks. The full menu is NOT available. Just a mediocre cheese plate or charcuterie board. Although if you call ahead and ask they will tell you the menu will be available. We drove 4 hours so we were disappointed to say the least.
Organization very bad. The tickets sale from dice is a scam. You think you purchase a premium seat event and you end up standing in the back of the room. The worst situation to enjoy a performance which was incredible.I was disappointed about the organisation to sale tickets in this venue.
Excellent venue. The stage is up close so you get an intimate experience with the performers. The ability to sit at a table so close to the stage is great, I wish more concert venues would be like this. Servers were nice and attentive. The food was good and the prices were fair. Id definitely come back.
Great audio setup, and really good size for a venue. Great location, too, if youre tryna get food before a show / after-party
Had the privilege of attending the Paolo Nutini concert on Nov 14. The entire experience was incredible. Seamless booking on Dice app. Staff at the queue were friendly and informative. A brief purse search. The main room was electric. Sound, perfection. A bonus, it was nice and cool in a sold-out show (three rows back from the stage) which never happens at a concert. Great venue to enjoy live music and be able to immerse yourself in the experience!
Classic venue Ive been going to for years. If its at LPR, hit it up. The sound system is POWERFUL so bring earplugs if you have sensitive ears. Also, go to Night Gowns!
Amazing intimate venue to see favorite bands
My fav bands always perform here!!! Super fun and safe venue!
Went for the art battle event and the setting and vibe is cool. They also have a bar which sells drink and snacks.
The former home of the historic Village Gate Theater, where the likes of Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin once graced the stage, this subterranean venue generally features very good sound. Seated shows tend to suffer from the typical jazz seating arrangement, i.e. patrons are crammed into place and may have to contort their head in strange angles to see the stage. General Admission shows tend to be a nicer experience, although sold out shows can be jam-packed. The VIP section is tucked into a back corner on a platform. The bar offers a decent selection of cocktails and has solid food. Be forewarned that your phone will likely have minimal service this far underground.
Very cool place. Working A/C and good prices.
Recently saw a Jazz show (Julian Lage) here and coming out of(?) a panorama, I forgot what its like to be at a packed show. If the stage were a bit higher, this would be a better experience for the standing crowd. Otherwise, not a bad venue, just not a large one.
Great small venue for bands slightly off the beaten path!
I saw Church of the Cosmic Skull a week ago. The club is much bigger than it looks and the sound was fantastic. The staff was fantastic. I, very much hope , I can see another show here
Good venue, nice crowd and good service. Interesting programs. Only negative, if you want a snack the food options not good.
Small venue, but cool venue.
Maybe its a lack of staff or something. Im not sure but the venue was not good. Loved the artist but I could tell even he was frustrated. The line organization was a shitshow. Imagine coming 2 hrs early as a vip, and then having half the rest of the vip line moved ahead of you. Nobody knew what was going on except for one woman and it showed. The sound was bad half of the time. There were so many issues with the audio, it was almost laughable. I hope they can get it together becaue the venue looks nice.
Went to Jesse’s girl and 80s night. Absolutely fantastic. We had a blast! The show is terrific and a must either for tourists as for locals. The whole personnel is great, super welcoming and eager to serve, extremely strange for nyc.You definitely have to go now!
Venue is great! Gets super busy and drinks take a little while but still a good times. Dj on the night I went was something to be desired. It was an early 2000s pop punk night and they kept cutting cult classic songs to play lesser known ones.
Super intimate venue. No water allowed. Cheaper tickets are standing only.
Herbert Hollers First Friday of the month was awesome. Everyone danced like no one was watching because the Dj was spinning great music. The bartenders were nice, and the drinks were delicious.
Good venue, beautiful aesthetic, great costumer service, delicious food. Just saw a concert here and it was incredible! I wouldve given 5 stars but took one off because everything is overpriced. Eat before you come because a ham sandwich is $12.
Great space to see a show. Sound was awesome. $9 for a bottle of beer I thought was a bit much, but the show was amazing.
Great venue. Checked out Bigflo and Oli here. Good sound system and great atmosphere.
Love that place. Great miusic and atmosphere
Went for a show - got the tickets with seating.Seating around the stage was a bit awkward (the angles/orientation of tables and chairs)There are pretty good views of stage though, since the place isnt too large, so fairly intimate.I thought sound for the show could have been better - the music from the instruments was considerably louder than the vocals which was unfortunate since the singer was the main event.2 item minimum (didnt really seem enforced)Food:The sandwiches were very good - spicy chicken was decently spicy and tender; French dip sandwich - moist meat, the dip was very lightCocktails for $14 and beers on tap for around $7Service was okay. Settling the bill took a bit longer than Id prefer.
I came here for Jessies Girl and 80s night and had such a good time! The band definitely made the whole night but it helped that the bartenders were quick and helpful. The drinks cost what youd expect them to, which isnt cheap. It looks like they offer bottle service too. Expect bachelor/bachelorette parties and groups of college students when youre there!
Unique place with an intimate feel. I saw Dean Wareham here and it was a really nice show. The audience can get right next to the stage—there is no heavy security vibe—and it’s a great place to see a show. Functional bar, good vibes and chill people. Good spot.
The place is cool, no doubt! It gives you that hidden underground type of place which is really cool. I do have to call out the other points as well. For the Reggaeton Garden event they were ripping people off on drinks and bad!!The lines to get a drink were... somewhat long but the main problem was that it took forever to get even one drink.Security did their checks on all the ladies purses which is good but guys were not checked at all, if someone were to bring a weapon and start something there, we all would have been screwed due to improper check on the guys. The songs/tracks were amazing, they did get the people going but the DJ wasnt thats good, they just played one track after the other basically. End the end it was okay just those point had to be called out mainly the security safety one, since these days anything in that magnitude could happen anywhere.
When I tell you I had the time of my life at the Hubert Holler freedom party. The staff was AMAZING. No long lines outside or inside other than the coat check when it was time to leave because it was CROWDED!!! Veery organized and i Will be back.
Great venue. Have been there a few times. Shows can range from lines around the block and standing room only, to cozy seating. The service staff are great and I have always enjoyed the shows at this location. Worth a try if you are interested in a fun, eclectic venue.
I just went and saw my first show here tonight: This Will Destroy You.The venue atmosphere was good. The staff made it really easy and quick to get in tonight by checking peoples IDs and scanning tickets beforehand. The sound in this place was good.I think all the gender neutral bathrooms kind of threw people for a loop though. It was interesting watching people choose which bathroom they were going to use.
One of the most solid unchanging venues in the city. Ive seen everything from contemporary classical to metal to rnb dance parties here. When they do table seating its first come first serve, you find your own seats, so get in line early for that. Main space is like a large living room. Downstairs space is a long narrow bar with plenty of room for dancing.
More than the red fish, it is the eagle as well 🇦🇱
What a fun event! I absolutely loved the burlesque show. A really fun atmosphere, and the drinks were really good. The matcha cocktail was my favorite. We also had sandwiches, and they were perfect portion for a late bite to eat!
LPR is always a great vibe. It’s a basement situation, with a big dance floor and a bar. The theme den nights are great and the DJs always stick to the theme which is nice.
Awesome place to see a band. Felt comfortable in the space provided. Not too big not too small. Great cornered stage layout. Staff was inviting. Drinks a bit pricey but Im sure their rent is too. Great location.
Went for the MIYAVI show on Saturday 10/8/2022. Venue was extremely disorganized. They failed to separate VIP and regular lines, then gave super ambiguous instructions. Then once VIPs were finally inside (a half hour late) they separated the lines into merch and meet and Greet AFTER the back half of the line basically was told to stand where the meet and greet line was so they cut in line and then got priority on the extremely limited seating. Venue is basically just a barn with a plywood floor, and a tiny raised seating area in the back for ~25 people. Bar mixed drinks extremely weak, and half the audio equipment didnt work. Staff was extremely rude to everyone in line with (understandably) questions since the organization was a mess. Show started over a half hour late, and they werent allowed to stay open late, so despite paying for a full show, only got 3/4 of a show. Im not even sure I would attend a show here for free, Ive seen more organized high school recitals.
Sweet venue! Checked out Otoboke Beaver and Ratas en Zelo in here. Shout out to the sound engineer for the Ratas en Zelo set, they sounded way better than the last time I saw them. There are non-gendered communal bathrooms, no prudes allowed!
Place is not to big. I got to see Action Bronson here and it was a great experience. Make sure to bring a physical Id. Looking forward to see more shows at LPR.
Small venue with some table seating in the back and standing in the orchestra area. Good sound and reasonable drink prices. They serve food too but I have never eaten there. They dont have a coat check which is annoying if you go there in cold weather and dont have a seat. It gets hot during the show and you have to hold your coat the whole show.* I received a reply saying that they do have a coat check but when I was there on 11/18/19 I asked two different employees and both said there wasnt one.
Herbert Holler 1rst Fridays old school dance party.. Michael Jackson Bday Party.. great crowd Excellent DJ.. Overpriced drinks no seating filthy bathrooms..
I like this venue because its a lot more intimate then some because of the size. They also seem to showcase the artists really well...Ive seen a few shows here and every one had great sound - really love it.
Awesome venue, small enough where no matter where you are in the room you’re still close to the stage and can see the stage well. also they don’t charge you for water which is awesome at a concert :)
LPR is a fantastic music venue. Ive seen many shows here - some standing room, some seated, and theyve all been great. Its a very intimate setting, and its great to see some very unique acts so close and personal. Drinks are reasonably priced, as is the food, although theres nothing fantastic about the choices.
Fun venue and a cool place for special events. This venue has some unfortunate sight lines sadly, the columns that surround the round stage can and often obscure your view. This place is usually well booked so keep an eye on the calendar for their concert schedule!
I was told by one staff member that I could wait for my Uber in the lobby since it was freezing outside, but the moment I got there, another worker physically grabbed my arm and shoved me out into the cold. Absolutely appalling behavior. It’s disgraceful that they’d treat a customer like this. Inexcusable and revoltingly rude.
One of the more eclectic venues in NYC. Small enough that it feels intimate, big enough that it gets some great headliners. From jazz to doom metal to folk to drag queens to burlesque. New York City really has it all and this venue represents that. Drink prices are reasonable if youre a local (obscene if youre from a different city but hey, theyve gotta pay the rent somehow). If your favorite band or artist is playing here youre in luck. If not, you could chance it with a winter jazzfest show or one of their many others. They clearly love music.
Cozy, super cool - both the vibe and the amazing A/C on a brutal summer evening - SRO basement. Its somewhat obscured by the CVS awnings such that you look like youre in line to get Q-tips.The space comfortably accommodated several hundred standing fans, including the bar area. There are a lot of pillars breaking up the space, so sight lines arent all the same - but also, get there early enough and you can leeean and save your back. The bar at the back is well stocked, but it also means theres a constant hum of conversation in that direction. Best to head stage right to avoid that distraction. Theres a reasonable coat/ package check, too. Well-run place, and I look forward to my next visit.
A small venue in the basement of the building, LPR contains two bars and an elevated stage. I saw Wild Rivers perform on stage here and I had a good time. Id definitely go here to see more live music, depending on whos playing.
Freedom party is A wonderful experience hip hop old school
Great sound and artists, however the air-conditioned is, in my experience, always too cold
A good space is celebrated there on New Years Eve. Has a wardrobe for$ 5 to leave the jacket, two big toilets with 7-10 cabins each . Two bars .Stage. disco ball. Little lounge zone to have a seat. Its an underground level. My experience was good at the gimme gimme disco party , The staff was nice , the only situation we had on exit. Ppl who works in the wardrobe makes a view as they lost our jacket ( good one) but the cheap one they gave us back. It was so obvious that they wanted to hold it because through the curtain I can see how they discuss scenery to not return it. Everything was solved by my move to find my jacket inside . They not allowed me , but immediately they found my jacket .
Great Music, Great bartender, non stop till closing, not too crowded.
Its a great venue. I catch a show here at least once a year.
Good place to see a show. Larger than some Villlage clubs, good acoustics, table seating or stand at the bar. Menu includes sandwiches & snacks; I had a salad & it was fresh. Bathroom is above-average for a club in the Village.
Any place del amitri play automatically gets five stars.
I was at the gig with ReachNYC, Palisades and Blind Channel. The LPR staff were nice and caring to us. I would love to give a shout-out to Frankie, he was truly amazing. The whole staff were amazing and attentive to your personal needs. Thank you LPR, Will return for future events!
Bouncers outside are incredibly rude and aggressive! When concerns were raised to the manager he did nothing but dismiss the complaint and encourage the bouncer’s behavior. Extremely disappointed by this treatment and wouldn’t want for anyone else to experience this. Do better!
SOME of the guards was very hostile even though I had my papers in order, and had bought a ticket. So be prepared for very bad guard-service but a goood “gimmie gimmie disco’! But is it worth the bad guard service??
Cant speak 4 other events there but the #LOVEISLOVE Choreographers Showcase and Carnival Choreographers Ball are ALWAYS GREAT to attend. Dancers of all different backgrounds and styles all in one place to celebrate their love for the performing arts.
This venue has an intimate feel to it. Went to see Lucy Rose perform and the acoustics were awesome. Drinks were moderately priced and bar menu was decent. Id def go back.
This is a club which you will remember. Not to small and not to big. Special area where you are being served. Be early! Only place for 15 persons.Seen Ibrahim Maalouf. This helps the LPR to get rated this high. Super friendly service. Worth mentioning!Tip! Get yourself some merchandise! Love to by a shirt or something…
Always a good time. Tickets generally very reasonable, pleasant respectful crowd, good acts, good sound. I’m at my first show with seating, loving it!
Entry and coat check were easy. The stage is too low so you won’t see the performers much even if you’re average height.
Great venue for music!
Had an issue with bouncers that were in charge for the night I visited the venue and their attitudes were gross. If you are going to work with ppl MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT LEAST FOND OF THEM. Other than that i enjoyed the show somewhat.
I went to drag bingo here on a Saturday night, hosted by Linda. Its a fun evening out with an arrival around 6:30pm and bingo from 7:30-9:30pm. Once bingo is over, therea quick turnover of the space, so dont expect to hang out afterwards. Drinks are anywhere from $9-$14 though specials offer some $4 mixed drinks and shots. Fun space, if not a little cramped.
One of the best vibrant music venues on NYC. Jessies Girl 80s night is not to he missed! One of the best cover bands youd ever fine. Theyre a blast everytime.
Good sound system, drinks prices are similar to any venue, not cheap, crowd was fun and clean, staff was very nice
The drinks are over priced for the quality and the food is grossly expensive for items that should only be served to a child as a packed lunch. 9 bucks for frozen tots? A dry sandwich that comes with potato chips? The wine is awful as well. The tables were wobbly and the arrangement of the seating was also unnecessarily tight. I will not return there or recommend it ever.
I only come for linda loves bingo. Its fun. Happy hour ends quick though, so make sure to order a few ahead of time. Its a totally G rated drag event, so if you always wanted to bring your grandma to see a drag event, this is totally for you. The prizes are pretty cool too.
Fantastic music venue! Not too big or too small with multiple bars and enough bathrooms! Well done!
This is my favorite venue in Manhattan. Love the vibe and staff is always cool.
Go get yourself some Bingo! Fun filled night with wonderful hosts and an excellent waitstaff that are very attentive and friendly.
I went for an old school party. And had a great time!! Drinks are a bit pricey (no place is perfect) but well made. Plus the DJ is good youll be dancing all night
The place is Nice, good sound, and the staff is polite and professional. It was the First time we go out for a party night at usa and we (my girfriend and I) were impressed by the rudeness that young people, mostly women, show after one or two drinks: slams, souls, invasion of personal space, etc. almost ruined the night. that completely contradicted every notion we had of American people.
Friendly and good acoustics, wonderful jazz. We went for Winter Jazz Fest, and heard Kevin Eubanks and Artemis, among others. The food is good, but the seating was cramped. Be sure to go with friends!
This is a nice venue with a good sound in a great neighborhood. They have two bars and two bathroom areas. If you find yourself wishing you would have carried less baggage into the venue, they have a coat check.
AMAZING to see Ani DiFranco in this venue! I was crying happy tears all through the show. LPR is awesome and I look forward to going back!
I didn’t know standing tickets are the same as a table with seating but apparently premium is reserved. Everything else is first come first serve basis.I believe the venue was intimate and had good sound. It was well organized and they had friendly staff. I never had to stand in line for the restrooms and there was plenty of air where I sat but I’ve only seen contemporary pianists in this venue.I would come back to the venue but skip the food.
I think the space used to be The Rock Ridge and Aces & Eights....so many memories!Great sound system and just enough room to dance.Guaranteed great time!
The venue was G idles with discount ticket. They were cute but played just 3 songs but other artists played most of time which was highly entertaining. Drinks very expensive served in a plastic cup.
Amazing, interesting, happy, and positive energy in the air amongst a crowd of diversified people. The good classic music is what brings the positive folks out to lounge...🍷The same listening ears match up with the same like minds equal a successful night....
90s Throwback PartyMusic was Great, Vibe was Right.Plus 90s Rap Artist that perform!!
The concert we saw was great, the venue however not so much. The food was average and the space was pretty dingy. It was really cold as well, since we were sitting under an air vent.
One of my favorite hang out spots. Im there at least two or three Saturdays a month for Jessies Girl. The staff, security, and bartenders are all lovely and the drinks are strong and well priced.
Jessie’s Girl - Friday nights 80’s revival is simply the BEST 80’s night I’ve ever been to. If you’re a fan you MUST go. We were really blown away by the 3 singers and the band. Amazing set list and the crowd loved every moment of it. If you’re visiting NYC do add it to your list. Worth the late night!
Nice place and good sound. We were on Anvil gig and it was great. Prices are okay
Some of my favorite events and parties in NYC happen at LPR. One of the best is Oh! You Pretty Things! which happens semi-regularly and is always a good time. Very fun and diverse crowd - I feel like almost anyone would be at home here. The drinks are pricey but not excessively so, and the cocktails are pretty good. Love the photo booth near the bathrooms, and I love even more that it takes credit cards.
Went here for a mini concert by Broadway Sings. Besides the show (which was fantastic!), the venue is very chill and intimate too. Would come here again for another show!
Great 90s and 00s music but only if you ignore all black artists. Only heard like 3 black artists over entire 3 hour set. I guess its taylored to the crowd though cause there were very few black people in general. But maybe thats because the setlist is the way it is. Anyway still pretty fun place
A great venue. Air conditioner is great. Large dance floor. Unisex bathrooms.
Great entertainment space. Good Layout, good dance area, good staff. Great performers.
Came here to see Peter Murphy on August 10th; nice little club, and the bartender makes a good old-fashioned. Be warned that its greatest strength is also its greatest weakness: the stage area is very small, so bring some earplugs (or get some from the bar).
Probably has at least two separate dance floors and I was in the smaller one. The ambience was good with a well stocked bar and a decent DJ. Should try the live music party the next time I am here.
Came here to see Das Mortal, Dance With The Dead, and Magic Sword; absolutely astounding experience for my first synthwave concertEXCEPT for the guy who accussed me of stealing as I bought a shirt for accidentally grabbing a few pins that I thought were complimentary. Rather than observing the situation for what it was, the gentleman proceeded to put his hands on me in an attempt to escort me out.I can understand to be his position, but to be villainized in my first live synthwave experience is less than desirable. He claims his name was Josh and that he was the tour manager working for the band and didnt give me anywhere to report to, instead asking security to escort me outside.I will be doing everything in my power to report this man to the proper authorities.
Chill vibe, bartenders were friendly!
Back to the 80s with Jessies Girl is the best throwback experience in the city. Live cover band, great people all dressed up in 80s, and just a good time vibe. Im heading here for Friday 90s this week
Great staff but way over crowded firetrap. Venue more interested in selling Tix than comfort and SAFETY of customers. Had more drinks sloshed on me than ever before in the last 45 years.
I came here before and enjoyed the venue. This time was for the Art Battle. I was mesmerized by the atmosphere, cool crowd and artists grooving to the hip hop sounds. Everything was perfect in my opinion.
Awesome intimate space. Very fair pricing (not sure why google lists it as $$$). Saw an awesome show for $25, cocktails were $15. Reasonable drink pricing for nyc concert pricing
This venue always has something interesting going on: live bands, theme parties, DJs spinning, and even bingo. The atmosphere is built around gorgeous contemporary art that looks to have been stolen from the MoMA. The acoustics arent the best, but are still better than most places in the city. Just be prepared for loud (like every other club scene).Drinks are expensive and sometimes tickets sell out. For popular events, expect a long line. Maybe convince a friend to grab you some filafel at Mamouns down the block while you wait.
Venue was really cool! The $13 bud lights were a stretch.
Great place to see a show. The one and only drawback is that the stage is very low so if youre not up close it can be hard to see the performers if the show is crowded.
🤘
The events are unnecessarily expensive. We paid 45$ each for a random party which you can go for free. The restrooms were also a mess.
AC is set for stupid cold in here for mid June. The artist on stage even made mention of it. Great sound system. Tiny menu. Food is ok. No Guinness.
Okay, LPR definitely pulls in the talent, and the location is great. But as I stood there listening to the bands, my feet swelling by the minute, I couldnt help but eye those tables. Lots of them. All empty. All topped with signs saying, Two drink minimum. And otherwise, no chair in the joint (unless you want to hang around outside the bathroom).Really, I wanted to like this place, but it just seems soulless, and the moneygrubbing is hard to overlook.
Very cool place. Beers range from 5 to 11 dollars I went with the Narragansett for 5 bc the more expensive beers were basic .Good dance / chill space
Great sound, not a bad seat in the place, great programming; always a good time here
Nice size venue. Fun show with Metalachi
No designated smoking area and drinks are expensive af. Plus the pillars obstruct the view when they oversell
Dope spot to see a live show! Cozy but spacious enough & the drinks arent crazy expensive
A vapor of sophistication in the club
Cool club, great sound system, nice floor space to dance around, security is cool, bathrooms are clean
One of the best live music event spaces in NYC. They always have interesting shows coming up. I almost picked shows randomly and I was pleasantly surprised.
Updated review: Came to LPR once again to see Echosmith, Weathers and Jayden Bartels on 2/13/20. Great venue and staff as always. Good prices on drinks too. Will definitely be coming back soon!Original review: Very nice little venue. Went to see Astrid S on 9/17. Be prepared to buy at least two items in the showroom, theyre reasonably priced. I felt a little unsafe since they didnt check bags, I asked them if bag checks were necessary and they said no. Other than that it was a pretty venue.
Young disco club w dingy atmosphere
Saw Louane. Good venue, amazing artist.
Hate hate HATE the ID checks, wristbands hand stamps, cigarette smoke in the bathroom, but LOVE the programming. I have discovered so many amazing musicians here. I only wish they had good food.
