This karaoke place does accept people under 21+ on WEEKDAYS, as long as you leave before midnight hits. As for WEEKENDS you can still enter if you’re under 21+ but after 8pm you can not enter.I called and the information was really helpful especially since I have friends who have yet to turn 21. They have a good selection of music, I wish they added more of BTS solo songs and Laufey but hey it was fun nonetheless! I stayed 4 hours on a Monday it was around $62 after tax. Not bad to be honest considering It was my friend and I.

Our experience at this karaoke place was awful. We had to adjust our reservation from 2 hours to 1 hour since kids can’t stay past 8 pm, and they slapped us with a horrendous cancellation fee that was never mentioned on their website or during our phone call.Everything was overpriced, and the staff were extremely rude. The microphones kept making squeaky noises, there were barely and music options, and the walls didn’t block any sound. They forced us to either pay the cancellation fee or stick with the 2-hour booking. It’s absurd. I wish I could give zero stars.Do yourself a favor and choose a different karaoke spot. This one is absolutely not worth it. Plus, it’s not wheelchair accessible. Avoid this place at all costs.

Atrocious cancelation fee of 65$! We wanted to change our reservation of 2 hrs to just 1 hour and requested to just pay walk-in prices but no they wanted to charge 65 DOLLARS JUST TO CANCEL. Ruined the mood but we still tried to have fun despite also not having soundproof rooms and my parents couldn’t sing either because they had no Vietnamese songs ifykyk!!! They charge per hour and add a gradituity fee of 15% for parties over 6. 21+ After 8PM only so they will not let you add anymore songs after times up.

I went with a group of friends and had fun. One plus side to this place is that you can order food from outside from the plethora of take out options they give you. They also offer alcohol drinks but water there is free. There was also a ton of songs to choose from and figuring out the controls on the iPad was fairly easy. The negatives about it was that the karaoke rooms were not sound proofed at all so if people yelled loud enough you could hear them (which we could) and that could prove annoying or distracting. Also the videos that were provided behind the words were sometimes very strange. If it wasnt a grainy low quality version of the music video it would be backgrounds of random Chinese videos that didnt match up to the song. I would rather just have the screen blank than to watch some random background video. All in all we had fun and it was a nice experience.

Was a fun night out to celebrate my friends birthday. Ive never been to this karaoke place and didnt expect much, butt it didnt disappoint. Rooms were quite small, pricing for food/drinks, and hourly rates were not completely overpriced. Alcoholic drinks came out to be around $8 a glass, and rooms I believe were about $35/hr.I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, and this drink definitely went heavy on the amount of alcohol in it. With that being said, we originally asked for one hour as we spontaneously decided to go 🎤ing , butt the hour passed by so quickly we wanted to add more time - the rooms were fully booked and they said thet there was already another party after us.I would return to this seem to be low-key karaoke place a little outside of K-town for another night out with my friends.🍸🍹

I love this place. We go every couple of months, and it never fails. The song selections are fantastic! The place is clean and the rooms hold varieties of people and accommodate 2 to 20. Its a great choice for ridiculous Karaoke. The way they manage the room time and the drink service through a bat phone in our room is so convenient. Our only complaints are... we arent able to control the AC in the room, and we wish they had a list of restaurateurs we could order from to get wings and fries and snacks so we wouldnt have to go pick up food in advance.Other than that, this place rocks!!!!

I feel like this place is stuck in the past. The song selections were not that great. The UI was hard to navigate and glitchy. The iPad ran out of battery and had to get it replaced. The sound quality was mediocre. We were a group of 6, and the room was so packed, it felt claustrophobic. At least it was relatively cheap, and the service was okay.I would rather go to Flushing for a much bigger and modern Karaoke.

Came during an off time - it was pretty clean and they had most songs you could want (as recent as Flowers - Mile Cyrus). Its relatively cheap, so it does the job for the price and the equipment is easy to use. Its not the most complex as you cant change the queue easily, but was definitely good fun. Service was pretty decent - they were good about getting us our soju and waters

I was here with friends last week. The location is easily accessible and clean; the staff is okay. Thats the only reason it does not get one star.Sure, it would be nice to deal with a jovial staff that makes you feel welcome. Not here. They are polite but not friendly. The song selection is terrible ; most predates the 2000s. There is the occasional semi current song from an artist like Britney Spears or Rihanna, but their operating system and its search feature are also poorly executed. For a business that specifically does karaoke, Duet 35 provides a poor user experience. I would choose another location in the future.

Easy to book and staff was really friendly. The drink menu was decent, equipment worked well, and the space was comfortable. They even gave us mic covers.Just wasnt a fan of the way you look up songs. One iPad to look up and input songs. There was also a Google doc you could access on your phone but it was hard to find things. For the love of God do not get the candy cheese. It was like taking a bite out of a stack of Kraft singles. We got it out of curiosity but it was a bad gamble.

Ive been coming to duet for the past 13 years and usually have a great experience. But had my night and vibe ruined by a newer employee. Woman with glasses and long black hair was super aggressive. When Ive gone in the past they always check my bag which is fine but the way she rummaged through my bag taking everything out was not how they usually go about a bag check- she was aggressive and rudely demanding and left both my boyfriend and i stunned. This isnt the first time ive had a poor experience with that employee- they always seems to have a bad attitude and are aggressive when they speak to us. I have not had this experience with any other employee there just that one woman- last night i felt like leaving cause of how negative her energy was.

Ive been going to this place for over 6 years and they have become absolutely stingy over the last year implementing rules that were not in existence before nor clearly outlined in the admission area. Not to mention broken monitors and facilities that arent up to standards. Policing us on guests that arrive late which has never been an issue previously over the thousands of dollars we’ve spent here in the past, not to mention the many recommendations we’ve made to this establishment over the years. It’s truly a disappointment that this venue has fallen off so hard with their management. Just very disappointed with the recent several experiences we’ve had here. The staff at Duet 53 are much more hospitable and know how to take care of folks. Historically this place has been so good to us so it sucks to see the service go downhill so quickly. Won’t be coming back again.

Very convenient in terms of public transpo too since theyre near the herald square station. 5 stars indeed!

Normally I love this place, but a VERY heavy-handed bouncer just ruined my friend’s 30th birthday party. He claimed that our room needed at least 4 people to leave to stay under lawful capacity - but once 4 left, he demanded that 3-4 more also had to leave. We had only 18 against a max capacity of 22, but his rude presence and aggressive request harshed the vibe of the whole party. Awful hospitality and I will not be returning.

A profoundly creepy experience. I went on a date here and we stayed for two hours. Between songs at the end of the date, we shared an innocent kiss, and someone rushed into the room to tell us they were watching us on camera. Neither of us was doing anything strange or sexual. The security is such a nice guy, God bless him!I cannot say the same for one of the girls in the bar. Since we entered she was like acting like she owns the place, which comes off as bluntly rude. Additionally, you are obligated to buy drinks which sucks because we had friends that dont drink. The deal of the drinks is to obligate people to spend more money which its quite greedy.Im definitely not coming back here. I like Duet. It has become a karaoke chain in NYC still offering affordable marathon rates ($14 per person) and updated songs. They offer private rooms and this is their original location. I would recommend booking in advance. They also have a stamp card if you go often. This location was updated, but is still not the cleanest. They allow you to bring your own food and snacks but drinks must be purchased with them. Remember to leave a tip especially if you do not intend to clean up after yourself! They updated their system to accept songs from an iPad and each room usually has a central air system to adjust the temperature. They offer songs in English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese as I am aware. Overall still a great affordable spot for karaoke.

Like I dont actually sound that good without it.The staff were excellent and provided great service. We walked in to see if there was an open time and they let us know their availability, and we were able to reserve a time slot a little in the future. We also had a friend show up a little bit later and they were very accommodating in letting them join and allowing us to up our rate even though we initially reserved for 4.There is an ID check policy for all guests if anyone is ordering alcohol! They have a strict no outside food or drink policy. Plenty of rooms, so many songs, and my hearing is pretty wonky after this. The rooms are quite big and decent, you can definitely hear people singing from outside, sorry for the ones who had to hear me. You can bring drinks, but not food. Prices were quite cheap, $6 an hour per person at 7 P.M. on a Saturday.Theres a tablet where you input song by their numbers or even their artist and you add them into your list to play. Theres like a couple of huge books filled with songs/artists, but the bad thing is that you have to look through a lot of them unless you know what you want. The volume is adjustable, but we put ours so high (to try to cover our terrible voices) and it really hurt my ears. After that I had a major headache. We tried the takoyaki and it was pretty decent, a good sharing size for about 2-3 people.

But even though we arrived 40 minutes late, they didnt give up our room. Coming here was nice and the staff was friendly. Once you are in your room, you look through these books on the table that will tell you the code you need to enter to sing that song using a remote on the table. Its pretty easy. When your hour or hours is almost up, an employee will come into the room to let you know that you have 10 minutes left. All in all, it was a nice Karaoke experience for my first.

Highly recommend going next door to Den Social 😉Angel the bouncer was having a bad night and got caught up in an unnecessary altercation. Everyone was very calm and sober until he aggressively tried to force one of us out. After asking us if were going to the room and us responding so, he took a strange aggressive manner that he quoted made him feel like [he] was stupid. While trying to calmly speak to him, he physically tried to take this person out without any context. It wasnt until he got to the stairs, where trying to push the person caused an outrage with the group and staff. Unfortunately for the business, they lost that customer group and wont be going back.

DONT GO HERE! 8 friends and I decided to go here for a birthday celebration but unfortunately were completely disappointed. We started off getting our pockets and bags checked for drinks and our bottled water confiscate. We then needed to buy $4 water bottles from them. We then decided to try some food so we ordered the chicken karage. We waited 30 minutes and paid $10 just to get 3 small burnt pieces. When it came time to pay we noticed an additional $40 was added to our bill as gratitude we did not sign for. Review №50

If you enjoy karaoke, dont go here. The karaoke selection is okay, but the management and bar are just not good. Rates are based on how many people are in your party, which means anyone that walks through the door at any time during your visit. So if you have a room for 3 hours and a friend stops by for 5 minutes, you just got charged for 3 hours of that friend being there. And they dont explain it that way, but you get surprised at the end with the huge bill for lots of people. The bar itself is so poorly stocked, and they dont even have regular bar accessories. Theyre pulling ice out of a regular cooler and they dont know how to make many drinks. There is no kitchen. The only available food is either bags of chips or a plate of soybeans. I dont know how they let people know that their time is up, because I was aware that we were approaching the end of our pre-arranged time and I went to ask about paying up and if we went over our time... and they just said that the room was going to be used by someone else. Were they going to warn us, or just come in and say time is up, get out? It would have been nice to have a warning or something. And then the bill fiasco. You definitely feel like youre in some kind of mill, and you are just the product they are moving through in order to make a quick buck. I have gone to many other karaoke places, and this is by far the worst karaoke bar I have been to. Hint: there is a much better karaoke bar literally on this same block that is better.

Duet 35 is my all time favorite location for karaoke singing! I love their marathon pricing - for 7 to 8 hours of singing, you pay only $12 or $14 per person. They also serve free water if youre feeling thirsty. No outside drinks are allowed. But, you can bring outside food, such as a birthday cake or even order for delivery! Their otherwise hourly rate of $5 to $8, depending on the time of day, is a good deal, compared to other karaoke places in the area. They also have a reward system that if you get a certain number of stamps, you get one hour of free karaoke. They sometimes, have the real videos for the songs, but occasionally, there might be some random funny ones. They always update their song list monthly and have a most popular song list as well. The place is very clean and spacious. And I always love going back to Duet, whether its for a birthday celebration or just a karaoke outing!

The private rooms are really big, with a couch, a table to place your drinks and ample space inbetween the table and the screen. You get a card, which is crossed off every hour you spend there. So, 15 hours at Karaoke Duet 35 = 1 free hour there.

The smaller of the Duet karaoke places in the city, its just as good. You dont even have to leave the room to get a drink, just call the front desk on the phone. So this karaoke place seemed nice at first until I got in with my friends. The staff was rude and not helpful at all. They called my friends and I baka which mean stupid in Japanese.-hello Im her friend and we were finding a Karaoke place and went here. When we came we asked questions and then when we finished she went to her co worker friend and said Baka that gardening tool is mad rood just cuz we r young she feels like she can say that. Also the tools were Japanese and there were no lyrics there were boot legged videos for the music and the Mics were very bad, one stopped working and the other had a very loud echo feedback. The process for finding songs were very lengthy too.

Top 10 Rules of engagement when karaoking with Jenn include the following of Do Not Attempts(to sing with me if):1. you dont actually know the song2. youre too shy and low and no one can hear you anyway3. youre too loud and now everyone can only hear you4. you have zero musicality and are screwing up the song5. cats and dogs whimper in agony whenever you try6. you cant hang for a whole marathons worth (2-8 pm)7. your favorite last song is Its My Life. Because its not your life; its Bon Jovis. And because we are not at the same sad club where its last call and time to head home.8. you like to input Will Smith songs, but abandon it halfway into the song9. youre not going to partake in the singing, and think its perfect timing to have long and meaningful conversations with your neighbor10. youre on your cell phone texting vehemently. this is a cell-free zone, buddyIve been coming here for years, and Duet 35 usually does not fail me even if my companions sometimes do. They have since expanded this location and there are new rooms available. The staff has been slacking in the song updating department, but they are never more than 2 months behind. The staff is pleasant and helpful, but the karaoke system is appalling. First of all, the lyrics are botched. Secondly, as the lyrics are rolling, in the background are some very odd asian music videos that have nothing to do with any of the music or the mood thereof. This place is probably the cleanest karaoke in Herald Square/KTown area and that’s a BIG plus. The prices are suuuuper reasonable and cheap compared to other karaoke lounges. The venue is also quite big compared to other spots that only have like 5 rooms so much more space for other parties. The song selections could be better but acceptable for all the other pros. They offer song books which is super helpful with big groups so not one person is looking for songs, everyone is able to sing. They also allow you to order individually through a QR code which is super helpful so people don’t have to do all their own calculations and payments.

I have been coming to this place for 5 years or so and it seems as though this place has gotten worse over the years, for a couple of reasons.1. Some of the staff I have encountered are extremely rude. One was rude to my friends and I even before we entered the venue. I thought it was well known that you should not make snide remarks about your customers, and certaintly not in front of them, but apparently not.2. Not to mention, they do not allow you to bring any sort of beverage into your rooms. They forbid any drinks, including water. You have to lay all bottles on their front desk, which could be _extremely_ problematic seeing as other people could tamper with your drinks/bottles if the employees are not watching!3. Moreover, the karaoke system itself is a bit outdated. There is no option to hear the original singers voice, which is a staple in most karaoke places. The mics also produce feedback at the most random times, and the small rooms certaintly dont help with figuring out where to sit so there isnt feedback. You could lower the mic sounds and music using manual dials, but it seems as though this karaoke system is subpar and not bespoken of a karaoke system that a superb karaoke place should be using. If I remember correctly, the Coin Karaoke system in the nearby food court is more technologically advanced than this karaoke system.Nevertheless, I do have fond memories here (years ago) with my friends. I would consider returning if Karaoke Duet 35 improved based on their customers feedback, but we will see.The one thing I somewhat like about this place is that it is BYOF, so you could grab whatever tasty meals you can find in NYC and eat in here.

We were told several times that NO ONE CAN DRINK because we had someone under 21, but we werent planning on it. They were acting like we came there TO BREAK the rules we didnt even know about yet.
