If you can find karaoke somewhere else in the city GO ELSEWHERE! First I had confirmed for my big party of about 21 people a month before the date. I called on the day of the actual event to confirm the party size and how many hours which I always said was 3 hours not 2. Some people in my party arrived first and they were told we could only have the room for 2 hours and had to be kicked out after. So when I arrived I ended up disputing that and saying what I confirmed for since the month prior. The man was very nasty and said well all of y’all can get out I’m gonna go kick your party out right now. That was very rude when apparently the different people I spoke to it was always confirmed for 3 hours. Next someone else in my party spoke to the same man and he said we were to move to another room after 9 because it was another large party who reserved for 9. Fast forward that was a lie because no party even so called came for that room and we stayed the WHOLE 3 hours in the same room . Next I noticed as people were ordering drinks at the bar one side of the bar was telling people you couldn’t pay for your stuff at the bar but it had to be billed to the room. The other side of the bar was saying you could pay for your items at the bar if you wanted to. So I called them out on that with several people around and they didn’t like that as well. Oh but it gets better then I discovered that they were charging people different gratuities on their drinks and adding on their own too which was different numbers for different people as well. They were also making up different prices for the drinks as well. For example my cousin ordered the same drink all night. Don Julio and juice which the first one was 20, then his second they charged him $27 and it just kept increasing till his last one was $34. This place is a complete scam fromThe way they handle business. The way they talk to people, the way they make up their own prices and add their own tax. COMPLETE SCAM! Also, it gets better they charged my card 2x for the amount of 700. If you can go somewhere else go oh and also they act like they don’t take cash so they can slap your card with the extra gratuity and throw own added tip as if you have to tip them. Don’t waste your time !
Drinks were watered down, my friend had 4 cocktails and didn’t feel tipsy at all and has a very low tolerance. I’d avoid at all costs if you plan on ordering drinks other than beer. Otherwise this place was fine for a night of karaoke. The mics blew out a few times but still had a decent night. The staff was nice.
Great experience, staff is very helpful. Rooms are nice sizes. Great collection of songs. Truly a fun time. Would highly recommend.
Had one of the best Halloween nights. Musics were loud enough and staffs were nice. I recommend their open bar special. You could drink like 5 glasses of drink for only $29.
Private room karaoke 🎤 $40 an hour with a 2 hour minimum. High tech digital catalog of THOUSANDS of songs.Full bar with an odd rule that all cocktails are served as doubles... Cant get a single unless you order a shot 🥃. These might have been special rules reserved for an obvious tourist... But that was my experience.
I had a great time here and Id come back again. Out group of 8 fit the room almost fully. Room was warm, mics worked well, drinks from the bar conveniently closeby. Bathroom was clean. Didnt order food but it was affordable split between our group for 12-2am. Respectable staff. Made reservation few hours before and got in smooth, it was busy Saturday night.
I had a very disappointing experience at 5 Bar Karaoke. I reserved a room for 10 people, but at the end of the night, we were told that there was no room available for 10 people, and that we would have to pay for an extra 2 people. When we got into the room, the song selector remote wasnt working. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come fix it, but no one came. We ended up having to download an app to select songs. The drinks were weak and the room was dirty. There was a long hair on the microphone stand and the tables were sticky. To top it all off, they tried to charge us for the 15 minutes we couldnt sing because the song selector remote wasnt working.I would not recommend 5 Bar Karaoke to anyone. Here are some specific details about my experience:The song selector remote wasnt working. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come fix it, but no one came. We ended up having to download an app to select songs. The drinks were weak. I ordered a pomegrate drink and it was barely alcoholic. The room was dirty. There was a long hair on the microphone and the tables and floors were sticky. They tried to charge us for the 15 minutes we couldnt sing because the song selector remote wasnt working.
Well Ive been coming to this place for a while now. They are under new management so lets see how it will turn out after renovation.
Just save yourself the trouble and don’t even bother coming to this place. Very little song library and easily the worst private karaoke rooms in the city. I swear my Google Nest mini in my bathroom is louder than their speakers. Service is horrendous too, the server keeps forgetting our orders and its just beers LMAOJust a terrible experience overall and they have the audacity to lock you down a 2-hour minimum ew
The cons unfortunately outweigh the pros. Its an alright place if youre going with 1 or 2 other people for a casual session, and theyre really quick to get you a reservation, even on the weekends. They use healsonic for their karaoke system and some songs that arent available at other locations fortunately work! However, the microphones kept cutting out through the entire 2 hour session, and the speakers kept popping. The usual disco lighting system was creaking and whirling a bunch- that we at first thought was genuine defect. For the pricing, I think its kind of ridiculous, but for a last minute place, itll get the job done. Try to go a little later than 7 since they wont have made any soju flavors earlier than that.
Shady spot. We reserved for two hours ahead of time for the advertised $40/hr rate but when we arrived we were told we would only get one hour unless we purchased one of their bottle bundles ($270 for a $40 bottle of booze and an hour of time). When we declined and chose to stay for just an hour, they held on to one of our credit cards. After we were seated, we were then informed there was an additional $20/person minimum. We made the most of our time, even though both the room and drinks were low quality and barebones.
STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE.by far the worst karaoke experience we had. the server/overall staff was rude, wasn’t at tentative at all, came to our room maybe twice?, and was downright condescending to our group.if we weren’t charged automatically for a 18% gratuity it would’ve been 0%.this review is posted just as a warning for anyone that plans on going to this karaoke spot. there are far better karaoke bars in KTOWN than this one.
I came here with friends late one night and we had a fun time singing and drinking. We got the all-you-can-drink, which is limited but can be cost effective if you hustle. The music selection and the music I listen to have a small overlap but I found a few that worked.
Went here years ago and come back to the same great service! Went to the bar and had a good drink and then asked if me and my friend could do karaoke without a reservation. ( didnt realize you needed one.) They let us have a room and charged us a great price! I will be recommending this place and I will return with more friends!
This place sucks. Point blank. They gave me a bad and irritated attitude when i called 1 hour before my reservation to tell them my party became smaller due to people not being able to make it and theres was a real lack in customer service. Then they told me i have to leave 5 minutes prior the end of my reservation because they scheduled another party on top of ours. I have been to beyter karaoke bars in the city with better hospitality. Go anywhere else except here.
Good for bigger groups ($40/hr/room)the machines buttons were all Korean and the attendant didnt know how to add original vocals to the songs. also there was no bartender when we visited on Monday, so no cocktails were available.overall the song collection was nice and sound system was booming. would visit again!
Shady an d terrible customer service. We only wanted to stay for 1 hour and around when the hour was up I went to ask an employee how much time we had left (no timer on the karaoke machine like most places) and was told someone would come get us when our hour was up. No one came, but we’d gotten some extra time because the machine wasn’t working at the start so we just kept singing. When we finally left the room ourselves because it was late and we were tired, we were charged for TWO HOURS even though we’d asked them twice how much time we had left for our ONE hour.Guy tried to placate us with tequila shots — basically forced the shots on us to make up for the “misunderstanding” (read: scam) instead of providing actual customer service.
Had birthday party last night with 30 friends. I was worried that if the space was not enough for us, but the room was reallyyy huge and very clean.Making a reservation was super easy and all the servers were nice and energetic.Highly recommend coming here for the party and I would definitely come back.
Went last night. Complete covid pit was there were a sea of people throughout the bar. Drinks were overpriced and watered down and there were a ton of underage people there. The guy stereotyped us and demanded an immediate deposit of the room thinking we were gonna use the room and run. My aunt still enjoyed her 65th, thus the one star. I would not throw a party here.
By far my favorite karaoke bar in ktown. Nice rooms that were properly aced and not rundown. Kind staff - Ive been there on busy nights, not busy nights, with and without reservation, and they have always been prompt and accommodating. Room rates and drinks are both good value. Im baffled every time I go why its not packed wall to ceiling like most places in ktown, but then I wouldnt have a hidden gem to go to, haha.
If you are NOT Asian, DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!!!! I came to celebrate a friend’s birthday and it was a group of 11 women of color (9 black and 2 Asian). The ENTIRE staff was RUDE, PUSHY, and it was extremely unpleasant. They constantly came into the room counting down the minutes and bothered us about drinks (which we already paid for). DO NOT COME HERE!!!!
Visited yesterday. The prices were reasonable compared to other karaoke places. Fries were crunchy. I highly recommend their open bar special. You can drink as much as you want within an hour.
This is the second time I reserved a private karaoke room for my 5 friends and I. The first time was pre pandemic. The room rate was $40 per hour for up to 5 people the $8 per hour for each additional person. Pre pandemic a karaoke room reservation also came with a free 6 pack of beer (not that we are beer drinkers) and bottle service. There was also a food menu to order from. During our first experience, we ordered a bottle of vodka and were provided with mixers to make cosmopolitans. We ordered the appetizer sampler that came with fries, shrimp, chicken nuggets. We reserved the room for 3 hours and extended it one additional hour because we were having so much fun. When the bill arrived, the total came to a little over $367 and we were told if we paid cash we could pay $360 even. It was such a great experience we were looking forward to returning once they reopened after COVID.Post pandemic the experience was completely different. We came on the Wednesday after Christmas as we were all on break from work. The karaoke room rate remained the same. However, we were the only ones there so there was only one gentleman working the bar and no one present to attend the kitchen so the kitchen was closed. We were unable to order any food. First disappointment. The second disappointment was that there was no more beer included with the room and no bottle service. Instead they now offer open bar for $22 per person/per hour, or premium open bar for $29 per person/per hour. We opted for the $22per person/ per hour option. We again reserved the karaoke room for 3 hours but stood longer because we decided to order food through Grubhub since we were starving after a few hours. We ordered food and even ordered food for the gentleman attending our group since we felt sorry that he was there working alone. We ended the night 6 hours later. I also have to comment that some of the song lyrics were incorrect and the tune was different than expected on a numbers of songs. We had a great time, but the open bar was an absolute purse drainer. The third and final disappointment………………..the bill was $1089 compared to the $367 we paid the first time which included food. We were not offered any deals like last time.Overall we enjoyed ourselves since we were in each others company. Being friends for over 25 years, we bring the fun to wherever we go. We were looking forward recreating the memorable experience we had pre pandemic and end the year together. Unfortunately, this experience was a complete 180 compared to the first time. Don’t think we will be coming back.
My favorite Karaoke bar! Been coming here for 3 years and never had a bad experience. Eric is the best and always gives the best service!
High end karaoke bar with private rooms and tasty food. Easy to book and able to host big groups. Amazing service as well. Love this place. The best karaoke ever. Highly recommended!
The best Karaoke in NYC. Huge rooms available for big party and workers are very kind. Had amazing time here and definitely going to visit again! No.1 Karaoke!!
This place is great for a casual night of karaoke! Affordable, fun and low key.
Scam. don’t come here. they tried to scam us by putting items that we didn’t order on the card and pushing quickly for payment. after finding this out, they would not provide refund. already overpriced $320 session became over $400
It was so spacious and comfortable. The staff were so kind. I will visit with my friend again next time.
I RARELY give 1-star reviews on Google but here we are. There are sooo many other better options. Don’t come here. Called in advance to reserve. They asked us for IDs when we arrived, which is totally understandable. One of our friends didn’t have her physical ID with her, only a pic of her driver’s license. The manager was so condescending, told us immediately that “no other bars” would take us (untrue because again, we’re ALWAYS in Ktown) and passive-aggressively told us we had to “go home” to get the ID? Turning us down was one thing and we would have totally understood BUT OMG his attitude was so unnecessary 💀Anyway, not even 5 mins after that, we luckily were able to finally get a spot in one of our other regular bars and they accepted us with no issues. We also obviously all looked over 21 (because we were all in our 30s 👴🏼)Also, we came here on a Saturday night (peak hours) and we thought it was weird that the place was almost empty. I guess that’s why. 🤷🏻♀️Oh, and when we came in, the place smelled like bleach. STRONG BLEACH SMELL ☠️. Soooo, there’s that too. 😋
Summary:This karaoke spot was unable to provide a room with working speakers for our birthday party with 16 people and charged us full price without seeking any ways to accommodate our experience, and went so far as to aggressively tell us to deal with it or leave.Details:When we asked for help in fixing the speakers to our party room, the manager organized a quick try, but after it didnt work, he settled with a deal with it attitude. When we asked for possible accommodations to make up for the experience, he aggressively replied you can leave. When I asked for time to let me discuss with the party, he said sure, but not without sending his employees to already bring cleaning supplies to our room, letting us know we were not welcome. This is a horrible and offensive attitude, showing no empathy for the birthday girl who was very excited to celebrate in this location. I hope the manager realizes that he cannot treat his customers this way and that they should be proactively ensuring that all rooms are functional beforehand, especially when its known in advance that such a large party would be there. We are never coming back.
The system was difficult to use. Music was not diverse or updated. We were celebrating a marriage and academic accomplishments. Workers were not friendly at all. I wont return. If youre of a darker skin tone, I suggest you find somewhere else. Your money is welcomed, but YOU wont be.
Such a fun night. Shoutout to Jacob for being so sweet and singing Down with us
I have never been to a place with ruder employees. We had such a good time doing karaoke and they completely ruined the experience. There are so many great karaoke bars in the city-- DO NOT go to this one.
Amazing service. JACOB aka JK was amazing and made the experience good. Will come back with more folks.
Good setup, we had a 1 drink per person + 2 hours of karaoke from the start. I felt like the song choices were somewhat limited although I could be wrong. Friendly staff and we had a great time.
Music selection / options was really good. Cleanliness was great and the staff was friendly. Need more AC in the rooms and more than one male and female bathroom, although can use either if necessary, still not enough with alcohol throughout the night.
They cut the music at the 1 hour but they charged us for 2 hours. When I asked about it they said that they wont refund the money because the minimum is two hours, yet none of this was mentioned beforehand. We would have stayed the 2 hours if they hadnt cut the music
This place is amazing! Great COVID policy and protocols. Had a staff Holiday gathering, just 15 people, but we had a great time. I love the wait staff that bring drinks and food so you dont have to leave the room! Def going again!
Super expensive drinks, reticent bar service. But the rooms dont smell, song selection is good, and the tech works most of the time (you have to mash the selection keys just right and its easy to cancel the current song).
Not the best karaoke place in K-Town... They claim to be part of Karaoke City, but Karaoke City is much better!
Stumbled upon here randomly while looking for something to do late at night with friends. We were taken to a room and the server explained how to work the machine. Apparently, theres a 1 drink pp minimum (which, btw, is not listed anywhere). Cheapest drink is a beer for $8, cocktails $16. He then brought the drinks to our room. There is also a food menu.I would give this place zero stars due to lack of price transparency and bad (to say the least) attitude of the owner (at least I think he was the owner). My friend and I were told by one of the workers that it was $30/hr with a minimum order of 1 drink pp. We stayed for 1 hour 50 minutes. When the bill came, we were charged $73.33 instead of $50-something. I informed him that we were told from the beginning by our server that the rate was $30. Instead of apologizing or trying to make amends, he asks so what do you want me to do? After some back and forth, he finally decides to give us a refund. As he was doing so, he was very passive aggressive, acting like he was doing us a favor. He then became defensive and said that the worker has worked here for a long time, you probably misunderstood. The place was not loud and he was not wearing a mask so I was able to read his lips clearly. My friend and I both definitely saw and heard THIRTY. He then proceeded to tell me that youre accusing us of ripping you off and running a scam. The computer is preset to $40, why would we tell you $30? I simply told him that we were mischarged, but if he saying that he was ripping us off, that says something about the way he runs business and the whole establishment. If you dont want to give us a refund, fine Ill just call my credit card company. But, if you offered to refund us, why say all of this out loud? This owner needs a course on customer service recovery; the way and the tone he talked to us was unacceptable. Our server, during this whole debacle, was down at the other end of the bar and then eventually disappeared without saying a single word😑I really dont care what the price is but just tell us up front and be honest and stick to your word. Other karaoke places Ive been to dont have prices listed either, however, whatever price I was told in the beginning was the actual price I was charged. Dont know how this place is top-rated but stay away! Ill just stay in Jersey for karaoke.
Best karaoke in city !
Finally found a place where I can have girlsnight:)Went with my girlfriends last weekend and thankfully, the wait wasn’t very long because we got there pretty early. They had such a cool atmosphere (much like a club) and nice staffs. Manager was really cool, he was very accommodating with our needs. They also had a full bar in the front, which is a plus if you’re waiting for the room. Because you can start the night at the bar ;)The whole experience at this place was above my expectations. You guys are the best Thankyou!
Very shady business practices. One host will tell you a different price than another. They said everyone in the room needs to do open bar and we only had 8 but they tried to charge us 10 for the room when we were only 8…
Good service to start, but took off one star for the rude bartenders when we went for drinks. They should consider doing digital booklets for songs.
Room was nicely ACed. Music selection is up to date. Service was upsetting. Rates were great BUT they had a hidden spending minimum so beware. They initially told us a great rate of $8/hr per person. After we agreed and went into the room, they pressured us to order drinks however we did not intend to because we already had drinks else where. Some of us had work so we werent planning on drinking more. Once they realized we werent going order drinks, they were visibly upset. They then told us that we had to order a minimum of $20 of drinks per person on top of the rates. We were going to dispute the lack of transparency and were ready to leave but then the manager said it was okay so we stayed. However, they would peep through the door frequently see how much weve ordered. We felt very pressured to drink. We ended up ordering two drinks out of courtesy. We dont mind spending on drinks but the hidden rate was shady and a turn off. It definitely ruined our night. Had we known we needed to order drinks, we wouldve gone somewhere else with higher room rates but no spending minimum. Its about principles.
Nice staff. A little pricey but thats ok
This place is great. Great ambiance, service and staff. I will definitely visit again.
I dont recomend this bar if u dont change how server talk to customwrs. Very rude server. Owner should teach them how to respect customers.. we are just asking something and he answered rudely. So bad
Great karaoke place to host any types of parties!5 Star service & nice atmosphere 👍🏻Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to hang out.
Trash. Specifically the staff. They’re miserable and determined to make you as miserable as they are while taking your money. Plenty of other options within a few feet. Go elsewhere.
The drinks are too expensive.
I had a great time with my friends here! Great service and a lot of korean/english song selections!!
Stopped by late a few nights ago with a group of 5. We were all let in without any issues. They do check our vaccine cards and IDs which is standard in NYC. We sat at the bar first and got into a room later. Bartender was very sweet. After a few mixed drinks, our room was ready and the manager escorted us in. We sang a mix of korean and american songs. Stayed for about two hours and the manager came towards the end and gave us free shots!Highly recommended stop at a night out in ktown. Not too pricy, good atmosphere, great staff.
Fun but coat adds up quick
Went with a group of ten last Saturday and it was an absolute blast. The staff was very nice and everyone was raving about it.
Very good
So much fun!!!!
