The Brazen Tavern

We stopped in last weekend on Saturday night for dinner. The place was quite busy. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited for a table. The food was delicious. The service was decent. The food was very good and reasonable price for NYC.

Nice pub, where the song selection and atmosphere were good. But quite expansiveI enjoyed a glass of Yuengling Traditional Lager. I got a recommendation of this because they didnt have a Brooklyn Lager, but its not bad anyway. There was a thrilling carbonation in my mouth.

We came here to watch the Nebraska game. This is the official NYC watch site. They have ample and comfortable seating. Service is friendly and consistent. Regular check ins and quick delivery of food/drink. The food is very good with good portions. Cooked perfectly and with care. We look forward to enjoying this establishment regularly.

Very chill vibes which was exactly what I was looking for. Sweet potato fries were fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. They were exactly how I like them. My Shirley temple was delicious, too. Great service overall.

Solid Irish pub vibes with food that hits the spot and drinks that hit harder. Cozy without being cramped, but service can slow when it’s busy. Not groundbreaking, but reliably good. The whiskey selection won’t disappoint.

I visited the Brazen twice (Saturday and Sunday) around the same time - 12:30 PM.During this time the pub is nice and quiet. Not packed. There were more people here on Sunday probably due to the early Broadway shows ending around lunch time.The bartender Bill is fantastic and extremely friendly. Hes always up for a chat, especially if youre sitting at the bar itself which I was.There are plenty of TV screens here as well so if you want to catch a game, this is the place!Ill definitely come back!Pro-tip: If you like burgers, get the Brazen! It was delicious!

Six of us came in for a few cocktails. We didnt have any food, so cant comment on that. Service was mediocre for a bar and only having cocktails. Asked for a few different martinis and each one tasted the same...lemon drop vs. a cosmo. Even shots of vodka seemed watered down. I think the bartenders should stick to pouring beers or maybe get back to mixology school for a refresher course. While were on the subject of school, have the waitstaff get a refresher on math for addition and subtraction. Wont be returning, too many other choices available for a simple cocktail.

If you want a woodsy, classic sports bar feel - this has that atmosphere. We made a reservation & got seated immediately, but overall service was spotty/a bit lacking/slow. This is located very near theaters & other attractions, so it’s handily located - but if you’re in a time crunch or need to make a show, request checks early.The food was decent, just a bit overpriced for tavern fare. I might recommend this spot more for drinks & watching sports.

Visited twice during one week stay in NY. Pre theatre dinner and on the last day. The service was excellent and quick. Friendly staff. The pub is cosy, love the decor. All food was on the cold side. Large portions great for sharing.

They have great, affordable cocktails for the city and a nice selection of draft beers. The service was fast and the location is walking distance to multiple Broadway theaters.Unfortunately the food was a miss for me. They didn’t have a great selection on the menu. My nachos were cold and the burger was just okay. The fries did not taste fresh.I absolutely would return here, although just for pre-show drinks.

Good atmosphere and Guinness wasn’t that bad for America. Really hard to get bartender to serve you. Walked by us 4-5 times without a glance.

Cool Irish tavern to grab a drink and the back room is very cozy, though the furniture, specifically the couch (leather) feels like it came out of a college dorm. There are TV’s and an electric fireplace to add to the ambiance.

I got the grilled chicken pesto sandwich. And it was great! Service was quick, great atmosphere.

Great local watering hole and bar. Lots of variety of drinks besides the usual Guinness. I was very pleased with my Jalepeno Ginger Mule. Tingly and its got a kick. The portions of food were easy to share and lots of good eats at economical prices considering its steps from the Theater district. Must try. The pretzel and cheese dip is also worth a mention.

The enjoyment I had at this drinking establishment cannot be contained in words. The bliss of a cold Guinness can only be understood by the few, the proud, the Marines.

Came here to watch the Yankees game and have a few drinks. The game wasn’t on but they changed it for us. I stated with an old fashion. They game me a dehydrated lime with it…usually it gets a cherry and an orange, but it still tasted good. Then I realized they are known for their mules, so I got an Irish Mule. It was good and refreshing. Nice atmosphere and good vibes here, also it has some history with George Washington, very interesting.

Its a cozy place with delicious food and generous portions. If youre not a big eater, get an app and one dish to split. The shepherds pie was amazing and my picky mom loved the fish and chips. The staff was busy, can but friendly, and the bathrooms are clean. There is a cozy fireplace if you can claim a spot near it! I would go back.

My wife and I traveled to NYC a few days ago. I searched around the hotel and found The Brazen Tavren, a unique Irish restaurant and bar. Service were very friendly. The food was delicious and the cocktail was perfect. The trip ended with two consecutive nights. Come and enjoy the wine. I promise that I will visit this bar again next time I come to NYC! Highly recommended!

Stopped by for a quick drink and snack with some friends, and only had a short time. Excellent service helped us make our next outing in time! Friendly staff, fun atmosphere. We had the beef sliders, and I highly recommend them! Would recommend going by if you can!

It a great place to have a beer and a bite to eat. Very friendly staff, Chris and Shane are the two bar staff we came into contact with. They both have a great sense of humour with good speedy service every time. The waitresses are also very friendly and helpful. Lots of TV screens so you can watch the sport, but they are not loud enough so you cant sit n chat. The locals were very welcoming to us in our week in New York. All round its great place with a warm atmosphere, helped by the cozy fire which sits in the back.

Cant say enough good things about this place. The food, the excellent waitstaff. Highly recommend

Loved it! We happened across this place whilst killing time before our flight home. 3 hours and far to many ciders later and we stumbled to the airport. Great value for money, great atmosphere and our server was brilliant. So annoyed I cant remember her name but we got chatting about all things Scotland.Visited Oct 2023. Will definitely be back during our Oct 2024 visit!

My wife and I were in NYC for the weekend looking for a place for dinner near our hotel. The Brazen Tavern fit the bill, ambience was what we were looking for, service great, and food great. The place was clean and just a great atmosphere. What made our night was the GM Boston Mike, come to find out we grew up in the same town and attended the same elementary school. We reminisced, laughed and had such a great time, thanks Mike for making the evening even better .

Pretty typical Irish bar had some good food as appetizers and snacks We had a blast.

UPDATE: something changed here; the service is insultingly languid, we waited fifteen minutes for our server to come to our table, and eventually went to the bar to beg for help with an order of two cheeseburgers. The food was prepared as an afterthought, I’d not feel comfortable serving this low quality to my guests. We will not be returning to what was once one of the best restaurants in NYC.+++Remarkably excellent happy hour, it’s hard to believe this is NYC!

An inpromptu pop in with a group of 11 for a warm place to make evening plans. The staff was friendly, engaging and accommodating. And I want to include authentically Irish. Drinks were good. Service was swift. Prices were on par w/the neighborhood.

Go to place for Liverpool fans. Its as authentic as it gets. Learn your songs and bring your voice. You will learn a lot about the history of NYC Kopite history.

Harry was an absolutely phenomenal waiter. He got to us right away, made sure we got our order in before their cook stopped cooking, and gave us time to eat and all while wearing a smile. We ended up wandering into this little pub and it was so much better than standing out in the streets in the cold trying to find somewhere to watch the ball drop. We watched it from a comfortable and cute environment with heat and a bathroom. The only negative is that the bathroom needs the lights fixed. Other than that, id definitely recommend.

Menu is inaccurate. No late night happy hour food.All beers on tap were gone.

Our scuba diving club gathers here monthly, and we always enjoy the excellent food and drinks, complemented by fast and friendly service.

Great spot to ho to after a show. They accept open table reservations & walk ins. Priced right for NYC pub. Waitress was friendly, cool decor, comfy couch in back. Food was decent and drinks as well!

Stopped by for a quick drink after a show. The place had a few people but was pretty casual and relaxed. I especially like the backroom which had a more warm intimate atmosphere. It was adorable. The bartender was friendly and pretty hands-off but made sure to check on us periodically. For my drink I got the Jameson ginger mule. Pretty straightforward and not too strong. Overall, a fine bar. Nothing that super stood out but the kind of place I’d be happy to casually stop by for a drink.

We had a big group with us passing through for drinks. Shout out to our bartender Bailey for being INCREDIBLE. They opened the upstairs for us and accommodated us. Food and service was great. Support them and tip your bartender!

Lively atmosphere and delicious pub fare, reasonably priced too which is always a plus. We came in a bit late for our reservation before a broadway show and even though the place was packed, the staff found us a table and our drink and food orders were taken immediately to accommodate. Service was quick and excellent. We never had to flag our server down in the mayhem and she also made conversation with us. We also loved the chicken curry! Definitely will be coming back next time we have a show!

Place is absolutely gorgeous. There is no price difference between their gameday, happy hour or regular menu. Dont know if there is a portion difference but got chicken tenders as a snack. 16$ for 3 medium tenders served on arugula. Almost cafeteria quality. Their house made honey mustard was really good. My girl got the nachos which were at-least well portioned. Staff has like 2 people who truly know and or care about their job. At first i got excited thinking of divebar feels from my hometown in NJ. But in reality this location is the overpriced experience that kills the actual magic and wonder that people have when they come to visit. Im assuming i came on an off night so i dont feel like a review bomb is necessary.

My husband and I hosted a small private event last night in the back room with the fireplace, and it was so charming and warm and cozy and perfect for the holidays. Aisling the manager, was so attentive and helpful in helping us plan. We ordered platters of food which were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the mac and cheese balls and the spinach and artichoke spring rolls. The service was fantastic and everyone was lovely. Thank you again:)

I have hosted two large group events at the Brazen and will be going back for my 3rd this fall - a hit every time! The events team at Brazen is easy to work with, very accommodating, and the planning process every year has been as easy as could be. On top of that, the staff and service every year never disappoint and always ensure a successful and enjoyable event for our clients. The food and drink are always fan favorites, and I would recommend to anyone looking for accessible and casual digs to host your next event

Great Manhattan New York pub close to.the river , good vibe and good food

Really nice place in the heart of the theater district. It reminds me of an old time pub. They have a bar along many tables to sit and eat. The place is a little narrow so I imagine it would be hard to move hard if it gets crowded. We were there on marathon Sunday at brunch time. Not too crowded as they just opened.The food is excellent. Fresh ingredients fresh fruit and they make excellent omelettes.I had the omelette with fresh goat cheese. Excellent!!! They also make an outstanding bloody Mary and Mimosas.😁😁😁 They have a great selection of foods to choose from. They make really good burgers and crispy fries.If youre vegan...no problem they have a good selection for you.Best of all the prices are commensurate with the area and the service was very good. Staff was very attentive to detail. You wont go wrong for stopping by for awesome food.

Friends and I hosted a gathering on the second floor and had a great time! Aishling was great to communicate with and made sure everything ran very smoothly and that I was kept updated of any concerns along the way. The drinks and food came out very quickly and the staff were all very pleasant! I would definitely recommend this place as a great location for a gathering anytime!

Seated immediately and server took our order. Had food within 5-7 minutes and all items were delicious. Cute atmosphere, everyone helpful and got us drink refills. Every staff member was smiling and helpful

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The environment and decor is comfortable both for in and outside dining. The food is delicious no matter what you get! I will often order multiple dishes to enjoy bites from each one because I can never decide! Most recently, I enjoyed the truffle Mac n cheese with bacon and a Pear and Goat Cheese flatbread! Overall amazing restaurant and worth stopping by!

We came into the City from CT and had a great happy hour here; we had drinks and food. Stopped in before seeing A Beautiful Noise. The manager, Mike, and waitstaff were super warm and friendly; they really made our visit. We talked about our connection to Boston-Dorchester and many other fun topics. The food was outstanding. We had the burger sliders and fish tacos. The beef in the burger was quality and the fish tacos were made with Mahi-mahi, not cod. We had dessert too-why not! Apple crumb pie which was unbelievably delicious and killer chocolate cake. We took our time, enjoyed the bar, savored the food, and can only say it was a home run for us!

I stopped here with friend while bar hopping. I arrived at 6.30pm on Friday and they had happy hour until 8. 7$ for house whisky which was quiet tasty to have it on the rocks. I also liked it with club soda. The service was very good and our waitress was quiet attentive. We had mentioned we wont be placing order for food so she did not bother us asking for food. We were also given very good seating as the bar area was full. Definitely recommend making use of their happy hour perks.

This Gem is a great place to visit, feels like you’re at your neighborhood pub. With a Strong selection of beer and spirits to choose from. You don’t typically get this service in this city, we visited here back to back nights because of the friendly atmosphere. Noise level was great and easy to have a conversation.Damien is friendly and knows how to treat the clientele.I’ll be back on my next visit to the city.Cheers!

We stopped in for a really, REALLY quick bite before a show. Had the absolute pleasure of listening to a group of at least 14 say everything was awesome but such a rip off out loud, which made my friend and I feel really bad for the servers. The wings we got were awesome, and our drinks were tasty too. Servers were busy and navigating through some tight spaces here but hey, its NY in Times Square. Kind of expected!PS- check out their really cool fireplace lounge in the back of the restaurant!

The food was pretty meh. The sliders were incredibly greasy, fries were limp and a little sad, fish tacos are pretty good, the pear and goat cheese pizza was very good but it took an hour and a half to get to our table. The waitress was lovely and when our food took an hour to even start to arrive, she comped our drinks. And when the pizza took an hour and a half, she comped that too. Overall, the prices are good for New York so I guess you get what you pay for. And they play really good music!

My sons and I visited recently one Friday night before one of them was to be married the following day. The atmosphere was great, the drinks were really good, and our waitress from Galway, Republic of Ireland was very delightful. Great people work there. The space is large and the atmosphere is very warm and laid-back. Its a great place to go with large groups or small. Its not really a fancy drink establishment-keep it simple or classic. Its demographics are very diverse, and I love that it stays open so late.

I stopped in for a quick bite & a few drinks before a show. The waitress was nice, the food came quick, albeit a little bland, I had the penne ala vodka with chicken. Next time Ill try the burger, it looked & smelled really good.

I usually always have a great time when I come here. Tonight was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever encountered. I walked in, sat at a table for 12 mins as I watched the other waitresses (ON A LESS THAN EVENTFUL EVENING) wait on other people & completely treat me as I was invisible. I felt so disgusted by this experience. I’ve never experienced racism in a restaurant before, but this surely felt like it. Everyone in the restaurant was White and being waited on, and I wasn’t given any attention even when the waitress made eye contact with me and I was trying to wave her down. I wound up talking to the manager about her disrespectful behavior, but the manager made excuses for her & said he will “handle” the situation. I doubt anything will come of it. Hopefully this never happens to anyone else.

Oh my goodness! This was some of the best food I have ever eaten! The fish and chips were fantastic. I love fish and chips and these were the best ever! The truffle mac n cheese is also another favorite. You cannot go wrong here.

Stopped by for a few rounds after dinner and easily found seats at the bar in front of a tv to watch some basketball. We didnt order food but occasionally smelled something good. Our bartender was great and switched our tv over to a womens game after the mens finished up, but another guy (the owner?) came over and switched all the TVs to coverage of an upcoming mens game (upcoming, as in there was nearly 10 minutes left before it even started). Thats the reason its not 5/5 for me - I found it very rude and when I said I was watching the last game (literally 25 seconds left, 2 point game) he just shrugged and walked away

Great, cozy bar! Came here on a Monday night. There were only a few people there, which is exactly what I was looking for. They have a couple TVs to watch any games that may be airing. The bartender was very attentive and entertaining. Theres a second room in the back with couches and a fireplace as well as an upstairs area with additional seating. The music was on point with old school hip hop. I really enjoyed my time here.

A lot of great food choices for a good price. Its an Irish pub. My friends and I all got different entrees and drinks and were very happy. Its a great location but not necessarily as busy as some other nearby choices. It was perfect for which we were looking at the time.

The team here helped me host a WONDERFUL birthday party. Geraldine was responsive, kind, flexible, and helpful throughout the whole planning process. Damien and Lucas were excellent in the execution of the event. Cozy, intimate, clean space with great drinks and friendly staff. All around, excellent experience. Would recommend the Brazen Tavern for anyone looking to grab a drink and a bite, or to host an event.

We were looking for something special on Tuesday Night and Teddys guide came through and offered us Taco Tuesday at Brazen Tavern! We decided to give it a shot and we tried their $2.50 tacos, they were pretty good, a bit small but so tasty! The drinks were strong and the service was outstanding! The atmosphere was nice and pretty much was chill vibe! They have a lot of Tvs with sports events as well! Overall great place for a tuesday night!

More like a 3.5. Decent pub fare. Try to get a table at the very front or in the back because the middle can get noisy. The shepherds pie was very good, wings decent but a little dry. Fish and chips...meh. Crab cakes very good along with the deviled eggs. Burger meh. Service was very nice. Overall, a good, inexpensive pre-theatre spot. Would give it another try.

Quote good. Avg prices on burgers etc is $15 to $17. Lite pricey but you are in the theater district. Beers are 5 to $7. Other than that nothing special. They have an upstairs. Not sure on live music etc. Its tough, very tough to run a bar business. There rent must be skyhigh. Stop in. Its like a neighborhood bar restaurant.

This was a perfect spot for lunch between a tour and our show. It was dumping rain and not super busy. Our server was nice and funny. What a fun and iconic NYC pub. Food was great!

Excellent bar! Extremely cozy, very friendly staff and great drinks. The food is also very good, with the Buffalo chicken egg rolls being a standout. They even have a fireplace in the back with couches!

This is an amazing spot for good food and great drinks! Love the atmosphere here over other Irish bars in the area. Weve been several times to see friends, watch sports and its always a great experience.

Celebrated my mothers 60th surprise birthday on the 2nd floor. Its a beautiful bar newly renovated and the staff is immaculate. They show true professionalism and made my moms birthday party perfect. From fast and efficient service at the bar, to constantly refilling appetizer trays, and making sure our party remained private and separate from the rest of the public. They truly delivered and I couldnt have been more satisfied with the venue and the service. Both Geraldine(the manager) and Ruthie(the bartender) were more then amazing and went above and beyond. They have great personalties and really made me and my guests feel special. So I would highly recommend this bar to throw a private party(check out the 2nd FL!!) as well as to unwind and grab a few drinks and apps. I am forever a customer at the Brazen Tavern. Thanks so much to these ladies!!

Best Place ever. Service and hospitality over and above expectations. Food and drinks were great. Came for a show from out of town. Would recommend to anyone coming to a play from out of state. Perfect location.

Best kept gem on W 44th street - amazing food and drinks - the brick chicken dinner was better than the crazy expensive dinner we had at The Palms earlier this week. The owner Geraldine greeted us at the door and made us feel welcome and checked on us all night - highly recommend!!!!

Was there for an after-APAC reception with my SAG-AFTRA Sisters and Brothers. Dark, crowded, stuffy (until a bartender opened a window). Just what a New York City bar should be.Loved it.

Loved the booth sections of this var, super comfy, could have stayed all day, nice menu selection, particularly recommend the flatbread pizzas, delicious! Warm and attentive staff and super accommodating when we asked to move from bar to booths, did everything they could to make our visit enjoyable!

Another great find. Not just bar food - some interesting Irish meals too. All that and a great drink selection make for a fun place to eat that we will definitely return to!

No happy hour (despite the websites offering, which brought us in). Tasty salad and fries, mediocre flatbread, friendly bartenders. Not sure well rush back but it wasnt bad!

This is a pretty standard bar/tavern, no special frills but not dirty and divey like other sports bars can be. They serve elevated bar food which is pretty good, and I highly recommend going on Taco Tuesday when the tacos are extremely discounted, plus some drink specials.

Great Irish bar. Really nice setup. Candles on the tables. Lounge with couch in the back. And get this a second floor that sometimes dies karaoke. Excellent bartenders, and the food is decent.

A cool spot all around. Came here to see college friends and we hung out in the back with the couches and vibed all night. The decor is chic and in general a darker vibe. It’s a sports bar through and through and just a cool spot to get some drinks. The bartender was hella cool and when we were the last group there we got ask him to turn the music off a sec and sing our college a cappella songs! A little unconventional but that’s a NYC night for ya (and on a Sunday no less!).Haven’t had food here but the drinks and shot were pretty good and decently strong!On Site:—Bathrooms—An upstairs bar—Couches and lounge area

Great atmosphere, friendly and fun staff, huge place, good variety of pub food choices and drafs, easy convenient location to PA, subways. Perfect for both pre theater or movies on 42nd.

The beer selection is meh, but the cozy fireplace area in the back is a great place to hang out and relax in a casual manner, especially on Taco Tuesday for $2 tacos and $5 margaritas. Dont set your expectations too high on the drinks, but you can do worse things with a fiver.

Went in on a late evening and although busy the servers were fast with all orders and other needs. The atmosphere is loud, but friendly to groups. Would absolutely come back.

Didnt order food, just impromptu biz drinks.

We loved this pub over several others we visited on this weekend. Friendly people and the atmosphere was great, not sure if it was just because of the holidays but we still loved our time there.

Such a great atmosphere. Hung out there with family. Quiet place for conversation. The drinks and food were well priced. We will go back the next time we are in the city.

Irish pub with happy hour until 8pm and a real fireplace in the back. Came here on a Monday night to catch up with a friend over drinks. The sangria was tasty and not overly sweet. We split a plate of shepherd pie nachos that I really enjoyed. The sauce was sweet and there was also mashed potatoes sprinkled throughout. The waitress was super sweet and very accommodating - she also had the best Irish accent. She told us to go ahead and take the chairs by the fireplace which was such a good idea. The fireplace was in the back of the restaurant and so are the bathrooms. The chairs were comfy and there were couches as well. It’s a pretty big space so you could come with a big group or you could cozy up in the back and hang out for a couple of hours. There was also a couch in case the two chairs are occupied. They do take credit card and it’s a quick walk from Times Square, not not touristy. Overall it’s cool that it has a long happy hour with friendly service and good food.

We sprang an unexpected and impromptu party on The Brazen Tavern with about 20 guests during a busy Wednesday night happy hour. Manager Boston Mike and team didn’t bat an eye and immediately welcomed us in and found tables for all of us. Mike and his team handled everything with efficiency, humor and fantastic service. We had a great time! Would definitely recommend for great atmosphere, excellent food and outstanding service! I will forever appreciate how Mike and team accommodated our group with welcoming warmth and humor.

The food looked good and the bartender was super nice, but i was there for their fine selection of ciders which did not disappoint.

Randomly popped in for a quick lunch before going to a Broadway play. Absolutely loved the place. I will be going back soon!

Pretty normal Irish bar- had a decent burger and a couple beers- nice little place tucked away from the theater crowd. There is a bar upstairs that is less crowded than downstairs!

Mike the manager and Harry the bartender kept my wife and me laughing all night, even though we only intended to stop by for 1 drink. The food was great (pretzel!) and the bar was extremely clean. This is an old local favorite for us and it was great coming back after so long and having it feel like home again. Can’t wait to come back!

There were three different categories of menu; Happy Hour, Sport Event, and Regular. But the prices were THE SAME. We showed up for Happy Hour and were charged the same as the regular menu. Service was friendly at first but seemed understaffed to keep it up.WORST part of the menu is the Chicken Fingers Appetizer. It was 3 medium/small strips on a bed of arugula NOT asparagus as advertised in previous reviews and is STILL $16. We were very disappointed by this because the Nacho Appetizer, in comparison, was a great sharable portion for the same price.

What a little gem we found! Boston Mike and his team could truly not make this a more enjoyable experience. It was everything and more for what we needed after walking over 30k steps , great food, great play list and amazing hospitality ! Highly recommend

Met a friend for drinks and we had a great time. First of all it wasnt that crowded which was great cause we didnt have to yell to hear each other. Our servers cause we had more than one were very attentive. Drinks were well made and they even adapted the margarita for me to be spicy, and checked up to make sure it was satisfactory. My friends drink was also quite yummy! We ordered some food but I didnt really eat anything but what I tried was pretty good. (some sort of sliders and the Bavarian pretzels).Would go back cause it is very convenient and great prices and offerings.

We enjoyed the drink special which was a lemon Martini...pretzels on the app menu were awesome. Served warm with dipping sauces, 3 separate pretzels makes it easy to share. They were light and buttery. Delicious. I got a salad with grilled chicken. It was huge. It was fresh greens and crunchy candied nuts. Great combination and very tasty, yummo.
