The Irish chicken curry is excellent, with large chunks of chicken breast over rice and/or fries, enough for two. It pairs nicely with a Magner’s cider! Walk through the bar to the back to sit at a table. Fast and friendly service.
My husband and I stopped here for a refreshing beer and a light lunch. The salad was great and crunchy as it contained fresh ingredients. We also shared an order of wings. That too perfectly hit the spot. Great ambiance with traditional Irish decor.
Stopped in for a meal during a rainy day. Sports on all the TVs was perfect. Our server was great and very attentive. Meal was perfect. 🍔 was great.
After a day of walking through the city, we needed a place to sit and eat a full meal. We sat at the bar where we met Kaitlin, an amazingly charming and funny bartender who took the best care of us. She recommended items, kept our glasses full, and made sure we felt welcome. The food was unreal— best bangers and mash outside Ireland, and prices that made sense for the time and place. Highly recommend this bar for a late afternoon drink and food, and if there’s a smiley redhead behind the bar with a raspy Irish dialect, that’s Kaitlin, and she’s amazing.
Iconic Bar and Grill in tribute of the great Jack Dempsey. Great warm atmosphere and excellent pint of Guinness.Food portions are wow! Massive. Very tasty.
Stopped by for a few pints here recently while my wife and daughters were shopping. Glad i did. I went to 8 different pubs in NY over 2 days. This was easily the best. Young lad fresh out of Ireland was my bar-keep. Top gentleman! Good conversation, honest and could talk sports until the ugly lights come on ! Thankyou. Will be back for a Rangers game
1 server for the whole place and she is awful, has a terrible attitude and does not know the menu or even the soup of the day. She was actually delivering food and drinks with a mouthful of food. She would drop stuff abd run back to the bar and eat another chicken wing without checking on any of the guest. My wife and I had to ask for refills. Quite different than where we live. With the number of loud drunks (one table was thrown out) this is not a family friendly enviroment.
The discrimination The manager of Jack Demsey’s displays towards people with disabilities is appalling. We entered the restaurant with 11 veterans with disabilities, 8 of which had service dogs to assist these veterans with their disabilities. The manager immediately showed our group horrible and downright rude behavior because of our service dogs. It was explained to him that it is ADA FEDERAL law that we are allowed access to the restaurant like anyone else. The manager continued to argue that the dogs are too much and will take up too much room. This discrimination escalated so much that group members began to have panic attacks and were forced to leave. On our way out the manager was telling us to have a nice day in a snide tone that was clearly mocking us. Jack Demsey’s, you just turned away 11 veterans with disabilities because we required medical devices (service dogs). This was the worst and most humiliating experience I have ever had and I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. The restaurant is not ADA friendly and deserves a visit from the ADA in the future. Guess the restaurant only gives good customer service to people without disabilities.
Good food in a pleasant setting. Menu is decent. The Cobb salad was spectacular and a huge portion. Thoroughly recommended
Came for a drink after dinner and it wasnt too crowded for a Thursday night. Got the last two seats at the end of the bar and enjoyed a drink while watching the end of the Yankees game. Bartender was solid and attentive even though he was alone behind the bar. Recommended!
Great irish pub in the neighborhood, Johnny was amazing and took really good care of us. The Buffalo chicken slider were great. Definitely a good choice
On July 14 I went there with my friends to watch Argentina , I gave them a credit card to open a tap, at the end I paid them with cash , I paid to a bartender ( bold gay ) the server was a Spanish girl , who took my card , she knew that I paid in cash because I was with my friends so we shared everything. The bartender took my money and still , charged me in my Cc, so he stole me , I have been dealing with this for almost a month , beside that , that day we were charged 20 dollars each ( 5) to get into the bar I gave to tha bartender 180 because I’m a good tipper, 20% and he still run my Cc. I tried to fix this in the diplomatic way and they even threatened me do not appear in the bar to see the bill I signed for using my cc. Very bad experience and very gredy gay . ( the bartender) . They even refused to check in the cameras that I paid in cash
This place came through for us. We had been to Legends every match of the Euros but they didnt value their long term customers when it came to the finals. But this place welcomed us in and the vibe was great. Will go there again.
Perfect New York pub with great staff who couldnt be more helpful and friendly. Wonderful atmosphere full of people enjoying their drinks after work.
The house ale is damn good! Going back just for the beer. The bartender was really attentive and friendly. A great, all around bar
A favorite NY stop in late December while waiting for Christmas. Speaking of that, aside from the great beer menu the food was a hit with my friends. Third weekend in December the place enjoys its share of Santas!
Found this bar by accident but was so stoked to eat here as it is iconic in the big apple. Ended up on the second floor (they have 4 floors!!) Where they had the LSU BAMA game on. Great place for some delicious Irish fare. I had the beef and stout pie and my friends had the Irish cheeseburger featuring a rasher of bacon on top of an amazing burger. The Irish stout stew was amazing!! So much flavor I ended up ordering bread to soak up the gravy left behind. Definitely recommend this bar.
Nice little Irish pub with the usual vibe. Very friendly bar staff (Irish as you would expect!! ) Will return again
We asked our hotel staff for something close, quick, but also worth the time to stop at… he recommended Demsey’s without hesitation.Great beer selection. My burger was incredible, and my wife loved the shepherds pie.
Nice Irish sports bar that plays soccer games. Food was very good and fresh; a little pricy for bar grub but made well enough that it is worth the cost. Waitress was very friendly without being overbearing. Would go back again.
The food is okay and the music was playing the right levels. Our server was very kind !
Great place to catch the Celtic games and a good pint of Guinness!
The food is good for bar food. The staff is great. You can watch UFC fights here for free 🙌🏼
Great place for a Guinness while walking down 5th Avenue. Empire State right next door.
Chill Irish pubFood serving is largeNice to just watch your fave sports on tv while drinking
We visited this restaurant on Saturday 7th December around 3.30pm. We came as a family of four with 2 young children, we had just found out that our flight back to the UK that day had been cancelled. I would just like to say that the two ladies who served us were amazing! We were very stressed trying to sort out accommodation for the night and they were very helpful offering advise on places to stay, they brought paper and pens for my daughter and came back to see if we were OK, their friendly nature really helped to ease the kids who were very worried. Sorry we did not get their names but would like to thank them for making a very stressful situation better. We got home safely the next day and managed to sort accommodation that night. They are an asset to this business and the children really enjoyed their food. Thank you again.
My wife and I came here for drinks during happy hour on our recent trip to NYC. The location was good and the atmosphere was great too. The only slight negatives were that the normal prices for draft beers were not advertised on the menu, so if you ordered something not included in happy hour you wouldn’t know how much it costs until you get the bill. I also didn’t like how gratuity was already included on the bill. Whilst I am from the UK and think the tipping culture in America is excessive, I would have tipped anyway as I know that is the practice in the States and so it is frustrating when gratuity is expected and is already added to the bill, especially when we had only visited for drinks.
This is one of my go to spots before a Ranger game at Madison Square Garden.Good food, good prices, good portions....what more do you want.Great Irish Whiskey selectionsHappy HourExcellent wait staff
AMAZING!!! PLACE WITH HISTORY!!!! GOOD QUALITY DISHES,SERVING,VERY FRIENDLY CREW!!!! ALL OF THEM!!!! BARTENDER SECURITY AND WAITRESS AND WAITER!!!!
The staff is great but after more than two recent visits it seems the beer tap lines need to be flushed or some of the kegs have been sitting for too long. The food menu is great! Their bone-in and boneless wings are delicious.
Best pub wings Ive ever had. The waiter was excellent being of Irish decent, and my family having Irish roots. We had an excellent conversation about our homes.
Fabulous burgers! Be sure to get the sweet potato fries with your burger because they are absolutely delicious.
Amazing food and customer service, and they have Magners! 😁
Horrible experience. I would NOT recommend to anyone! Went there to eat on Thanksgiving after the parade. Walked in and sign stated seating available upstairs. Went upstairs and 20 minutes as all tables were full. Most customers done eating and drinking just sitting at tables watching the tv. We were not even acknowledged until we got the attention of a waiter. Was advised it is first come first serve. On our way out ran into the manager, I had recommended maybe putting a sign up stating there would be a long wait to be served. His response was, “It’s common sense the World Cup is on.” Well apparently it was not common sense or we would have known. Common sense would have been putting up a sign, acknowledging customers that walk in or reserve downstairs for customers wanting to just eat and not loiter. Their loss. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I would definitely recommend Dim Sum Palace across the street. Amazing service and food!
Pretty good traditional Irish pub that has been there for ever. Get packed when there is game in MSG. Food and service is very good. Gets a big crowd on the third floor for Glasgow Celtics games. Be prepared. They get loud. Place is also well kept and clean. Recomended
I come here every single day that I’m in the city. Best staff, great environment, and definitely try to catch a prize fight here. As far as I know this place was really founded by Jack Dempsey!
I went hoping for Irish comfort food. Their menu is so varied I was concerned they were trying to spread themselves too thin. The food wasnt spectacular. My shepherds pie was actually spicy. I think they were trying to add flavor. I didnt want spicy shepherds pie. I wanted my favorite comfort food. The service was friendly.
Good place, just don’t speak your mind when asked a question, otherwise you will get asked to leave and then forced otherwise. Their beer is good on tap, sucks it’s not available on other states.
Great place around the corner from the Empire State Building. Not crowded for a Tuesday afternoon. Seated right away. Had shepherds pie which was great, and my son had the chicken tenders. He’s a picky eater, but they went down fast. Quick service and friendly, attentive staff. Only would request that they get a working lock on the restroom door.
Awesome place for sports viewing but much better for futbol. Good food and drinks as well
4 day trip to NYC. This was the worst food we had in 4 days. Atmosphere and drinks are cool, third floor with small outside space. Staff was good, but food was cheaply made.
Loved watching the UK game here!
Friendly staff. We got there late. Kitchen was going to close in 20 minutes. We have been servers before and know how much that sucks, but the staff assured us that it was fine and not an inconvenience for the kitchen staff. We had cheese sticks and French onion soup. Both were good. Beer was a little warm, but I think I had one that was not popular. Guinness was good. A good hole in the wall bar and seemed like a local hangout. If you want a decent watering hole its not a bad choice. Just dont expect the Ritz...
I visited a few Irish sports bars in New York and have to say Jack Dempsey was my personal favourite, I found this place by accident, will visiting grand central wearing a football top, a local man asked if I was going to watch the game, he was sporting the same shirt, he brought me to Jacks and the rest is history, great company, service and food, if youre a Glasgow Celtic fan its the only place to watch the games.
Great sports bar for boxing fans. If you catch a big fight there, youll be watching alongside professional fighters and regular lovers of the sport. Drinks are cheap and good, bartenders are great. A great old fashioned New York bar with a slightly divey feel, in a good way.
3 floors of goodness. Awesome bar staff, patrons are interesting. A party of rude, misogynistic people occupied the 2nd floor and would holler at random women walking by. Please do something about these degenerates next time.Drinks are good and cheap, happy hour is M-F til 8. Food is.. not bad.
I am from out of town celebrating my birthday I called to inquire about the boxing match airing tonight. The young lady I spoke to hung up the phone on me without clarifying my question. I was planning to host a mini gathering before my dinner reservation. This behavior was unacceptable especially after hearing good things about the establishment. I am beyond disappointed by the behavior and treatment I received this morning at 11:30 am. Finding good service is obviously hard to come by.
Food was not good. The steak was expensive so I was expecting some magic, it was unseasoned and mushy. The fries were good. The atmosphere did not look clean. Good selection of beers though.
Very good pub. I had myself a nice burger and chips. Also a good place to watch football and other sports. The staff are really friendly and gave some good advice about New York. I actually went here twice over the weekend.
Went in for the UK Wildcat/Florida football game on 10/02/21 after a great day in NYC. Have been here before and love the UK atmosphere. The third floor was packed so the staff was gracious enough to put the UK game on in the back of the first floor. To keep this simple, the waitress started out very mediocre but giving her the benefit of doubt, she was busy and seemed to be the only one waiting on the whole first floor. After a couple of beer, the only ones drank all day, I complimented her and told her she was doing a great job and jokingly asked if she was the only one there. Unknown to her, my wife was headed downstairs to go to the restroom and heard her turn around and state I must be really drunk,,,which I was no where near in such a shape. Being the professional person I am, I never said a word to her, but we will never return to a place that employs people to be so judgmental and rude, especially after they are being complimented on their work ethic. We didn’t even finish the game in this establishment, went back to the hotel and watched a great win by the CATS. Personal foul on her part.
I absolutely love this bar. I am a HUGE University of Kentucky basketball fan which is what drew me to this spot in the first place, now I go regularly. For those that dont know, this is the official UK bar of Manhattan and the Alumni association holds regular watch parties. The food is well above average for a bar, and the drinks are fairly priced. The bartenders and servers are great too. This is a 4 story bar that somehow keeps a neighborhood feel (with the exception of days like St Patricks day or other gigantic city days but that doesnt really count)
My friends and I came for the euros which was a $20 min spend per person. This was fairly advertised. We started at one table downstairs, closed out, and moved to a table upstairs and had a total spend of above $20 per person. Naturally we thought the two bar tabs could be merged and we were all good. However, the bartender refused to acknowledge the first tab based on policy, so the manager came up to ease the situation. I thought the manager would let us go but instead the manager also did not acknowledge our downstairs tab and told us we had to pay $20 per person or he’d call the police (???). Very strange escalation of a peaceful situation. At the end of the day $20 is not a big deal so you’d think Jack Demsey’s would side on good customer service…guess that was not the case and my friends and I will not be coming back here.
I hope i can visit the place some day again!
A very good friend of mine took me here. I had been to NYC many times, but Im from Texas. This place totally rocks. They were super friendly and the service was beyond great. If you are in this area, this is the place to have a drink, food and enjoy the true ambiance of The City.
We were at Jack Demsey’s last night to watch a couple of high profile fights. Everyone was very nice; the service was accommodating and attentive. The chicken quesadilla was good as well. What could be improved upon is the fact that beer on tap was grossly warm. Our entire party had to switch to bottles because beer from the tap was undrinkable.
Great food and atmosphere! The honey mustard sauce was awesome!
Went in last night for a reunion dinner with 16 high school classmates, and it was PERFECT! The atmosphere was very comfortable. The service was excellent. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Well DEFINITELY be going back as a group and individually!
Great place, great food, amazing Bloody Mary!Shepards Pie and hubby has some kind of wrap
Need to change hours to close 2am , wasted a cab ride.
Had a terrible experience recently when we went to this bar this weekend - charges an excessive cover charge for entry with no drinks included inside!! The doorman was rude and aggressive, threatened to attack a person in my group. Don’t go anywhere near Jack Dempsey, plenty of amazing bars in NYC without an unnecessary cover charge!
Was recently in NY and we just happened to come across this place and it was so good I had the wings and the macaroni and cheese and it they were delicious. The waitress that helped us out was super nice as well and on top of things. Definitely recommend eating there and hope to go back one day.
My favorite bar in the city. Used to go here at least 3 times a week with my old work crew after work. Bobby is the best bartender. Missed my chance to come by last time I was in town, but wont make that mistake again! Bobby, if you see this I was the white guy with the long hair that would always come in with Norman, Adrian, Michelle, and Myrna! Hope youre well!
We enjoyed the food, drinks, decor, and service!
This was a Friday night school trip dinner venue and we had a limited menu. Reservations had been made and our tables were ready when we arrived. I will never understand why they would only have one server for a group of over 40 people. Because of this, you understand how the level of service we received would suffer... greatly. Beverages (in red Solo cups) took forever! The food came out reasonably quick and was pretty hot, however, they chicken tenders were very over cooked. Most of the kids in our group ordered them and not a one of the kids are more than one, even after a full afternoon of tromping thru Central Park. They were famished and left this Jack Demseys still hungry. Many adults ordered the cheese burger and which were served very pink in the middle. Of the 7 children and adults in our sub-group, 6 had severe bubbly-gut and diarrhea within an hour. Thank heavens for fast elevators and lots of bathrooms at the Empire State Building!!!
Multiple level bar. Went to see the wilder v fury fight. Plenty of TV and bars on every level. Quick service! No complaints at all. Just the cover for the fight was 20$ for a group of 6 thats 120$ that could go towards drinks and food.
Spent the morning watching Celtic beat rangers in the LCF 🤟💚🍀⚽
This is a great spot to host large groups. The food and atmosphere is excellent. Great service too. Highly recommend.
Excellent friendly service. Good food and decor. Great pictures of Jack Demsey on the walls . Also fantastic soccer memorabilia throughout their 4 floors. Close to everything, shopping malls, transportation Empire State building and other nightlife.
Excellent service, Sharon is the best bartender in New York!! My favorite Irish pub.
Dont believe the reviews saying the food is good. Its awful. Stale quesadillas, pre-packaged giant pretzelsb that taste like cardboard. This is a tourist trap.
Went here for the Pittsburgh Penguins game. They had one bartender, Bob, taking care of the entire bar. He did an incredible job (2 people called in sick). Food was good. Could have been a bit warmer but they were absolutely swamped so I cant complain. Overall a great time.
Jack Demsey’s is one of the best places to go with friends to watch sports games and enjoy drinks while you having a great time. You can also throw parties and appetizers are nice and fresh. I recommend you try this place if you in the area and want to watch a game. You will meet some amazing people there.if this review was helpful please like and stop by and check it out.
My husband proposed to me at the top of the empire state building on 1/7/2019. We were flushed with adrenaline and nerves. When we got back out to the street, we both agreed we needed a drink. To celebrate, and to calm the nerves. This was the first pub we saw, and this is where we went. And this will forever and always be a great memory for my husband and I. 💜
A hidden gem where the vibe is perfect for watching sports or having dinner with friends or family. Very comfortable and cozy in the wintertime. Sometimes, the service is less than desired but overall, we have had a great experience at this pub.
This bar rocks! Recently underwent a massive renovation. They now have 4 floors with a rooftop bar apparently coming in the summer. The bartenders are so sweet and make great drinks. My go-to spot when Im in midtown!!
Doesnt even deserve one star. This place is infested with cockroaches and the manager laughs it off. Its disgusting. Dont come here
The bald bartender has terrible service, he threatens you not to come back for not leaving him a tip, I do not recommend this place
An unexpected gem in the middle of K Town, Jack Demseys, despite its heterodox spelling, is a fun little bar. I cant speak the cuisine, other than a fry I caged from a friend, but the drinks here are reasonably priced and the service is prompt. Apparently, they dont have table service upstairs, at least, on the day I went, but what I appreciate is the relative silence, which is unheard of for a New York bar. This is the perfect spot to meet up with some friends for a great after-work happy hour. Ill probably be returning some time in the not too distant future.
Very friendly staff. We had the salmon and the Mediterranean pasta. Both were delicious. The only recommendation I have for the chef is to stir a tablespoon of olive oil into the pasta itself. A very minor comment. We enjoyed ourselves.
Super cool bar in NY, the ambient was great and was possible to watch sports with really good sound 🔥
Spent 1 week in New York and can honestly say this is the best pub there.atmosphere was brilliant on st patricks day and carried on the rest of the week.staff were always making sure you were being looked after.10/10
$82 for 2 house whiskeys and 2 margaritas. A huge scam. Went to Daltons on 43rd st and 9th avenue (3 blocks from Times Square) and ordered 4 drinks plus 2 orders of wings and paid $50.
Great place to watch a UK game. Food was a bit underwhelming but the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was clean. Our service was decent and everyone was quite friendly.
Plenty of better places around the block that you can watch the game. Imagine simply asking to peak inside the premise before paying the 20$ cover charge when the venue is empty and being mocked. Very unprofessional
Watered down whiskey! absolutely blasphemous.
Great classic sports bar! Diverse & accommodating menu. Watched Womens World Cup there... Excellent Staff. Friendly atmosphere. Wonderful clientele.
Always have a great time here. We make it a point to come whenever we come in town. Go Cats!
Deceptively large with 4 floors. The 4th being reserved for events. Friendly staff, and they play the fights. Mostly what I was looking for. My only negative feedback is foods not great, drinks are pretty bad, and service was extremely slow.
I came here to watch USAs World cup game a weeks back.I sat upstairs with a few friends. The view of the TVs was not as good as I would have liked it. It was really crowded and people standing near our table obstructed our view.We shared a couple of plates of buffalo wings. There was a bud light special. Not all beers is served on the second floor. If you wanted stella you had to get it downstairs. To me this was just an average place with nothing major to write about.
Were big fans of this NoMad pub-- along with every Kentucky fan in the city. Saturdays have Wildcat games streaming from the third floor bar with the heroic Caolán and his friendly Irish crew at the helm. Once you arrive they make it hard to leave. Fair warning! 🍀
They dont close at 4am the close at 3:20... I know because I went there at that time and it was close on a friday night
The outside has been done up since Id last been here, but the inside is still the same cosy place Im used to. A great range of beers, friendly staff and loads of screens for live sports (catch Celtic football matches here - theyre always shown) make this a great stop if you find yourself midtown.
The food was pretty good. Service was a little slow. But it was worth it for the atmosphere and the food. Within easy walking distance to the Empire State building if you are planning a visit there as well.
I cannot fully advise on food and ambient since I was scared away by awfully rude waitress. Two grumpy and pressing guys by the entrance told me 3 times that minimum purchase was $25 even though I heard them the first time and told them it was ok. After having to find a table by myself a rude waitress saw me and without greeting or saying a word threw the menu on my table, thanks but I won’t spend my money where I’m gonna be treated like that. Got up and left. Ended up at stout sports bar….. whole other world of customer service.
I had an amazing time with my family. We celebrated two graduations Jhanelle and Bryant also their engagement. It was a celebration of a lifetime, the food was delicious and the owner and the employees were outstanding. I recommend Jack Dempsey with an A.
My friends and I hangout here often. Great vibe, super friendly staff, amazing drinks. My fav sports bar to watch soccer.
Best bar next to the Madison square garden, the bartender from Iteland Kalen it’s the best, love him. Will go back every chance.Great beer and Drinks, good kitchen also.
Tonight at Jack Demseys was very uncomfortable. I have been there a few times but tonight the staff on the third floor really showed their racism. As soon as they made eye contact with me they played the avoidance game first. Then when they finally took my order I only ordered french fries and I was given the worst fries ever. Moreover they kept watching me like I was going to skip on the bill. Because of that I left no tip on a $5.45 order of 🍟. Alot of staff at Jack Demseys act as though it is an only whites allowed establishment. I go there for the ufc ppv fights. But tonight was the last straw. No more will I go to Jack Demseys.
Great bar with a lovely atmosphere
Brisket sandwich and fries was good but the atmosphere was great for a small bar and the service was great! They had a lot of different sporting events on for all tastes. Soccer and Rugby besides boxing is their forte. I was here for UFC Fight night. You have to have ESPN+ to get the Fight Nights. Not sure if they charge cover for PPVS. I doubt it cuz Ledgends Sports Bar is on the same block and they dont charge cover for PPVS
Amazing food excellent service A+
Good atmosphere and great bartenders. Typical bar food with excellent service.
Authentic. I have Irish in my blood, but I felt it was not enough…. Great time. Good beer.
Lovely bar, great food and staff. Very friendly and welcoming.also a great place to chill after miles of walking and new york life.
Decent Irish Pub. Right next to the Empire State Building. Fresh food, good size portions. Prices were reasonable. Although we went Sunday night, they have lots of happy hour specials Monday through Thursday. I would come again. Bathrooms clean but downstairs.
The food was fairly bland, and the service was ok at best. It didnt really have a warm atmosphere like many Irish pubs do, but I would be willing to give it another chance.
Didn’t eat, but service is top notch. Would recommend as a nice friendly bar.
Service was very poor. Wait for drinks with no one in any other tables: 25minutes. Wait for our check: 30 minutes. Wait for one beer that we saw just sitting at the bar: 20 minutes.... She did try to make up with some free shots but I am not sure what good that did when we had to wait on our check...
Large plates. Good food. Great staff. Had a good time after a long day walking.
Very authentic Irish pub. Good food and friendly staff. If you are looking for a good place to grab a pint and watching proper Football, this is your place!
Food just wasnt good. Grilled chicken was dry and no flavor, same with chicken quesadilla and to top it off draft beer was warm and flat.
Place seemed interesting. Big place, nice lighting and interesting feelong. Went to eat, stayed 5 mins. The place on the back smelled like moldy wood. 10 people just sat down, got up and left. Couldnt stand the stench, didnt wait to order. Too bad, so sad.
Im just happy that they play football (soccer) games in that area, thats the major draw for me. The grub is decent, the prices are decent considering its midtown and next to the Empire State Building and theyve got no one outlet underneath the bar at each seat, thats an especially nice touch.Just dont expect a buyback (they may have never heard of them).*The Jack Demseys Ale aint half bad.
Great for watching MMA and boxing. Good selection of drinks and the food was acceptable. A tad pricey for drinks. Atmosphere was pretty good and the locals were friendly
Delicious French Onion soup and phenomenal service! If you’re deciding between Jack Demsey’s and Legends then you definitely want to eat at Jack Demsey’s. Way better experience. Same block.
Lively atmosphere, efficient service and although we did not try the bar food it looked and smelt great!!
Decent bar, good for drinks. French onion soup was very salty but they took it off the bill. Staff was friendly.
Had a great time in that place watching the world cup with friends. Was kinda pricey but nothing you wouldnt expect in NYC. Cool food and nice staff. Would go again
Amazing place! Just sorry that we only found it on our last day in new York... Great food.. Good prices( especially happy hour 😀) great staff.. LOVE IT!!
Great Irish pub with great food and service!
Very great spot!! Amazing staff! Positive energy
Good vibe, and friendly service! But a bit expensive!!
Great Bar that is the Center of Kentucky Sports (Go Big Blue) in NYC. When UK is in town this bar is teeming with Big Blue Nation. And I am an enthusiastic member!! Great time!
Best bar near the Empire State Building where I work. Not too noisy and not too crowded. Perfect pit stop on the way home for a Friday evening refresher.
Staff very rude and condescending. Do not know how to hold a respectful conversation
Great pub and atmosphere. Good food. Watch all sports here including every Celtic game!
Jack Dempseys is a classic Irish pub with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. If youre looking for a great Irish pub with a bit of sports history and a convenient location near MSG, Jack Dempseys is definitely worth a visit.
Nice atmosphere! Had a group of 50+, they took orders and served quickly! Had a limited group menu to order from, which helped. Would visit again!
We came from the UK to NY with 3 kids - it’s like third time. We’ve always found Irish bars in particular to be so friendly for our family and in general, New Yorkers are so friendlyAnd enjoy meeting our family.General manager Brian - what a let down! We dined here a few days ago and the Irish bar owner was amazing. We had a great chat about the kids and our trip here. When coming today to watch the English football, Brian was extremely rude! He made us feel so unwelcome and that a pushchair was such an issue (empty seats in many areas in front of our eyes) his response ‘welcome to new york’He’s doing that amazing place no favours! Remember you were a child once Brian
You need to be here
Love that it’s a UK Bar! Best place to watch a basketball game!
(All my reviews are overall) Wasnt anywhere on the plans but was absolutely thrilled to find this place. Went in Thanksgiving and they had the Thanksgiving platter. Best turkey by far. Everything on that plate was absolutely delicious! Had TVs showing the Macys parade and football games. Part bar part restaurant. That being said, was not loud at all. Very nice place and happy to have come across it! All around, amazing!
Where else would I go on St. Patricks Day weekend? This place is the real deal, from the top notch menu, service and decor. Its a perfect blend of Irish Pub and Restaurant. Cheers.
Dropped in today and has some beer and shepherds pie. The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and they had great beer selection. I’ll def be back!
Had a couple of drinks here was OK. The place could do with a makeover its very unkempt. They have a good selection of beers and friendly staff 👌🏻
Best Irish bartender everWhen in doubt, as for the price of Jameson! It does fluctuate from $12 to $14 (midtown prices)🥃🥃🍾
One of our favorite place with an extremely emotional attachment to our family. Love this place. It has amazing service and great food.
The atmosphere here was great! Yet another Irish pub with great people great service and great drinks. Will definitely be back
Loved our time there- food was great and service over the top, especially our Irish waiter!
The Jack Demsey ale is a nice one to try. Decent service, good food with nice portions. Nice crowd and good times on the juke box.
We went here around 1am and specifically called ahead to make sure the kitchen was still open, but once we got there, the greeter said yes, kitchen is open and when we sat down to order the bartender said kitchen was closed. So which one is it ?? Total waste of time. We got up and left to Cafeteria.
Excellent Irish Pub. Fish and chips were on point. Great beer selection as well, traditional & craft brews.
Nice place but it seems dungeon. Summer humidity ? Who knows ?
One day a huge world cup soccer match with US Soccer supporters, the New York Cosmos supporters club the Borough Boys, and Celtic FC [the home of AONYC, the Borough Boys, and Manhattan CSC] the same night spontaneous karaoke on the full jukebox... Overall for me a place full of memories... Vinn is a god.
Great atmosphere, lovely pub food and friendly staff. Super place to stop off for a wee break during a shopping expedition
One of the last places I can catch PPV boxing anymore. Nothing fancy, just your typical Irish pub fare, vibe, people, and beers. Which is to say: just like home.
Great location, close to Penn. We had apps for a friend meet up. Atmosphere was fun, service was friendly.
Good wings (but the lettuce bed detracts... Almost anything or nothing would be better). Good atmosphere and service.
Caitlin best ever bar maid made our night best bar in nyc
Nice little spot. Has multiple floors and friendly staff. Went there for Santa con, line was surprisingly short.
Nice cozy feeling bar with a good drink selection. Prices were fair as well considering its location.
Very nice 👌
A great place to come before or after going to penn station. Good beer and good food.
Cool Irish style pub with a descent selection of beer - alas no Guinness on tap. Usually quite busy but usually you can find a spot to drink
Great food, enjoyable decorations. It has a great service and you feel like they care about the customer experience.
Great we bar. Great location
Its a good place to talk and share a drink with a friend. Staff was very accomodating and helpful. I felt so comfortable enjoying my poison all night.
Awesome place! Was a regular for many years. Came back after 8 years and its like I never left. Great food, friendly staff and great place for drinks. Highly recommended!
Called in for a meal and some drinks after a busy day in town. My phone was almost flat, the server that greated us was fantastic and extremely helpful to our needs. The irish woman that also served us was willing and helpful to answer our tourist questions, but then. . . the manager/owner saw my phone charging and started ranting, thats my power you cant use it, you cant plug in there. He wouldnt listen when we tried explaining that one of his staff was helping us out. It but a real dampener on our experience there. Did we proceed with a second round of drinks? Did we get desert? No. No thanks to the manager, but big thanks to the 2 staff that had made our experience in NYC a bit better.
Shepherd pie is a must ...server whos from Ireland ...the best conversation and super friendly . Well worth the visit.
Customer service was good. Prices are very reasonable. The sauce on the buffalo wings were amazing!
Very friendly staff, great food definitely recommend a visit if in NYC
Fish and chips were great. Loved these big mouthed ketsup bottles.
Food okay, drinks were a little warm. Wont be in a hurry to go back. The service was good.
I love this bar. The bartenders are super chill, and the selection is great. They have Magners on tap and Powers whiskey. That goes far with me :-)Also, this is an ideal place to watch sporting events--especially UFC and boxing. The establishment is named after boxing legend, Jack Dempsey.
Didnt eat there but the service was great. This is a nice real pub not a tourist trap Had a nice guinness and watched the game. All good.
Brilliant bar at the heart of Midtown. Popped in to watch the lfc villa game and had a great time.
Came with a tour group. Food was fine. We had a limited menu. I would try it once more and give it another shot.
Was there for St patricks day and c the hoops win. Great pub great staff great atmosphere. Keep it up bhoys c u next year
Dropped in for a few drink, great bar and service.
Decent place for after work drinks in midtown. Few bar tables, service was too slow for the number for customers.
Great bar, food is unreal, try Salmon or Shepherds pie absolutely awesome…
Fun neighborhood bar, perfect for viewing Kentucky basketball/football 😎
Friendly staff but food is overpriced. The shepherds pie was not my cup of tea.
Was there for Veterans Day and they treat me like a king barely paid for anything I will definitely be heading back there next year
Its a nice Irish pub. We just stopped for few drinks while touring NYC. Basic drink menu and friendly staff. Prices are fair.
Good pub food, excellent environment for the big east tournament. Bartenders were great as well
Morning Porter excellent in Jack Dempseys, worth a vist if in NYC🇮🇪☘️
Three floors of pub feel. The food is good bar food. No frills you get what you’re coming for
Food and service says five. Roach on bathroom floor says four.
Again .. no boxingWhat are you all doing?I come here for the boxing, to enjoy it with a burger & bourbon, they have a good boxing crowd & die hard fans of the sport. However the last few months Ive been disappointed in this place & its neighbor Legends. They use to televise even the non-notable fights.. now they wont pass the ones on Regular ESPN.
Excellent food and service. Staff were helpful, menu was good and the food was top notch
Really good experience, we watched UFC 239 there. They have good bar dishes
Great spot, great service good people and fun times here. One of the only bars in Manhattan that showed the Pacquiao fight.
They hire the best of the best bartenders in NYC and the food is damn good too
Never felt more unwelcome to be at a bar. The waitress and manager kept harrasing me and my friends to order more drinks after explaining to them our religious prohibitions. We paid the entry fee upon entering and even ordered some drinks. Yet we kept getting harassed. Utter shame. Never coming again and will advise my close friends to think twice before coming here.
Not a place for dinner. I know its a bar but do not order the salmon. Dry and tasteless!!!
This was a good spot for drinks. We caught the USA womens soccer game here. Good atmosphere and people.
Nice place, the veggie burger and french fries were amazing!
It is a great pub/sports bar to stay. Good food and beer. Great staff :)
Kentucky sports bar. Two floors devoted to Kentucky games. Unnecessarily crowded space though, always hard to get a drink no or get around.
The bartender was great! Lots of the people were from out of town they were very nice. Sorry no photos
Go cats!
Great service. The onion soup and vege spring rolls were REALLY good.
I would like to thank Jack Dempseys local Bhoys and staff for the welcome I received to watch an early morning Celtic V St Mirren . Hail Hail guys!Gavin from Inverness
Spring rolls were good. Cozy little place.
Very rude staff, don’t recommend
No games just sports. Thats a good thing.
Kentucky College Alumni Bar. If you want to route for KY and watch the game. Here is a great place to do it
