I recently visited Horus Café on Avenue A for an early afternoon meal, and once again, it did not disappoint. Whether youre looking for a brunch spot or a place to have a relaxed lunch, Horus Café consistently delivers delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere.I decided to try both the French toast and the egg Florentine this time, and both dishes were absolutely scrumptious. The French toast was perfectly fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness, and the egg Florentine was rich and flavorful, with perfectly poached eggs. Its hard to choose a favorite because both were so satisfying. One of the things I love most about Horus Café is that its the perfect hangout spot, whether its day or night. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an excellent place to unwind, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a meal alone.Overall, Horus Café never fails me. If youre in the area, I highly recommend stopping by to experience their delightful menu and warm atmosphere for yourself. Its a gem on Avenue A !
Are you looking for the best service, food, hookah, and drinks?Look no further—visit Horus in New York! And ask for Abdullah ( best server ever )
We didnt want to eat in the main part of the restaurant because of all of the hookah smoke so they sat us in a separate private part of the restaurant, which was awesome because we didnt request it, and were ready to sit in their outside area which had little insulation bubbles. It was nice of the staff to do so since it was a little on the chilly side for outdoor dining. I dont remember what my friend ordered but I got the mixed grill. We also had the sampler as an appetizer that came with the hummus, lebneh and I forgot the 3rd item. It was delicious and fresh but the plates were small for the high price. The highlight of the place is probably the hookah vibe which isnt for all. I actually came for the Mediterranean food and Egyptian vibes. The food was good but not worth what I paid for it.
Great atmosphere! The fresh Lemonade was a perfect match with the hookah. Great recommendations about the the flavors. The team was an absolute blast! Next time will be trying out their grill selections.
I went here with my girlfriend for our anniversary dinner for the first time. Good food, amazing mocktails, an awesome hookah selection and all around awesome atmosphere. The service was also wonderful. Thank you for making our night special! Will definitely be back!
Nice placeWe were on a trip to NY and found this place for hanging out.Must say hookan was nice powerful and service was also niceOur server was really informative and helpfulLoved the appetizers.Must visit, definitely recommend.
One of my favorite spots to be with my friend. Great food, great drinks, great tea, great hookah, great atmosphere, great staff. What more can I say?! I love it here
I love this cafe. I often come here to work during the day. They have an amazing lunch special, and the hookah is great. I would love it if they had happy hour specials for hookah, like maybe hookah is $18 before 4pm. That would set them apart from the other hookah lounges in the area. However, the staff is great and the place is really clean. I recommend this place.
I had a wonderful experience at this hookah lounge / restaurant. My boyfriend and I got the basturma omelette for breakfast and it came with salad and potatoes, which was very filling and felt homemade. We also got signature hookah (Ahmes) which I highly recommend everyone to try, it has a tea base instead of water. The Egyptian tea was also very aromatic and delicious without needing add-ins like sugar. The service was awesome! Very quick, fast, and our server was helpful and kind.
Great greatI am an American architect in New York original from Egypt my country. My food I love ❤️ it
Wish they had liquor Ill be going there more often but hey a presidente will do
Decent place with some good hookah and becomes lively in the evenings. The waitress were quick and took good care of us.
Great place to pre game and start your drinking adventures! Hookah was on point definitely try the $40 options with the extra flavors you wont be disappointed !!
A very relaxing spot where you can enjoy Egyptian and other Middle Eastern cuisine. I enjoy going there for breakfast or lunch in the spring, summer, and fall, usually during the week to avoid crowds. I find a table across from Tompkins Square Park. have a Turkish coffee and enjoy their breakfast or lunch. They have a variety of egg dishes, both exotic and domestic. For brunch (breakfast served all day) I had the semolina pancakes and fruit, and the shakshouka served with salad.
Gabriella was a wonderful server, she was attentive to all our needs, checked in on us, and was incredibly kind. Was a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back again! The hookah was great lady on red & food was also great .
It took quite a while to get service even though they didnt appear to be busy although I dont know what their take out orders looked like. Two different but very promising sounding cocktails were ordered and both tasted surprisingly like nothing. The staff was accommodating and offered a substitute and the frozen margaritas were very good. The hummus sampler was fantastic however the main dishes fell flat. The meat was seasoned beautifully but it was way over cooked especially the lamb.
Very good! Met up with old friends. Naldo is a usual ;) hooka orange mint is Naldo’s favorite.
I hope my review gets the owner’s attention because I’ve been a Horus customer for over 10 years. Unfortunately, I stopped going to Horus for a couple of years because the hookah quality had gotten worse and worse. I decided to give them another try last night and felt nothing but disappointment. As an avid hookah smoker, I found the charcoal quality to be terrible. It was either not fully lit or completely black. The hookah wasn’t hitting properly. We ordered three different flavors but received two of them mixed up with random flavors. The hookah pipe had been used with other flavors, making it impossible to distinguish what was what. I asked the staff to fix it three times, but it was still bad, and I finally gave up smoking it.It was really a waste of my time and money.
Horus Café is hands down one of the best hookah spots I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s incredibly clean, which is always a huge plus. The hookah itself is top-notch, with smooth smoke and a great variety of flavors. The food is exceptional—every dish is fresh and flavorful. I especially loved the Moroccan tea, which is authentic and absolutely amazing. Whether youre there to enjoy some quality hookah or grab a bite, Horus Café delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphereGreat Hookah!I loveeeee the Moroccan tea!!
Sometimes, I just need to get out of my 6 x 8 nyc room to get some work done. Recently, my go to spot has been Horus Cafe on A.I typically go when the weather is nice so that I can sit outside and work, as a mix of the sun and people watching helps me gain inspiration.I have grown a strong affinity for the Turkish coffee as I feel like William Burroughs at Cafe Hafa in Tangier writing Naked Lunch.I need to shoutout my guy Aziz as he is always taking care of me!!! Ill se yall soon.
Service was great but quality of food and hookah went down over the years. Food is very basic and overpriced. The hookah was not flavorful and burnt out too quickly. Wasnt worth it. Also, music was weird. Did not match the theme of the restaurant.
Awesome place!! They accommodated our party of 10 at a late notice. Went to celebrate with my bachelor party. They had really good food and shisha! The drinks were amazing they gave us 2 huge pitchers of vodka (never seen anything like that before) hahaTo top it off the manager/owner gave me a free hookah as a gift!Such a great experience and very grateful :) will definitely come back soon! Highly recommend
Amazing vibes! We got the pineapple head hookah 5/5 strong yet smooth, turkish coffee 5/5! The service was prompt and servers keep checking on you even though you are sitting out in the patio. 5/5 will visit again.
Worst food in New York. Inedible. Vile. Staff not rude but not helpful with making meal edible or replacing or comping it. Foul food. Charred chunks of pure fat was chicken. Sandwich dry only lettuce. Really gross.
Very lovely place! It was super hot, so my buddy and I stopped in for hookah and some drinks. I would recommend this place! But if they are busy, it takes a long time before they get to you, and tend to forget. We ordered water, and waited for 20 minutes for it. Had to ask a few times for various things, and would get skipped over. If it isnt busy, you will be tended to quicker. But the staff is friendly and the hookah is fairly priced.
The Shisha and tea is great! The food is meh-but edible if you’re hungry. The atmosphere can be a hit or miss depending on the clientele that day.
Delicious chicken kebab plate with sauce and rice and small salad. Lovely service.
I had an amazing time at this establishment! This is the best hookah place I have ever been to. They are efficient and very service oriented. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. The music set a great vibe for the entire evening. This is definitely on the list for any visit to NYC.
I am totally in love with their humus. The food is delicious indeed. Try their combos! Hookah is also great! Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Go there on weekdays when it’s not too crowded. The tables are not big enough and the place itself. So if it’s Friday night, you would have to make a lot of effort to hear your companions.
Not the Middle Eastern dining experience I was hoping for when the dishes I ordered were paired with frozen chips and tomato sauce. The shrimp was straight from the freezer as well. Maybe the chef was having an off day but I wouldn’t dine here again. The humus and cocktails were good tho, so 2 stars right there!
Overcharged us over double the original bill. We didn’t notice until later because you don’t get an itemized receipt. Maybe we got the bill of another table but still. Also the service could be better
Really yummy Mediterranean food. Service was quick, the portions were great, and I left very full. We got the shared sampler platter and everything was delicious. The drinks were pretty good too.
This little spot was great! The hookah flavors are great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The blue mist hookah flavor in a pineapple was great! The hookah lasted for more than an hour and was very good. The coffee is great. I recommend this spot to anyone in the area.
Been coming to this spot for more than 5 years. It is a gem! A diamond in the rough! Phillip is hands down the best manager ever! The music is good the hookah is the best in the city hands down! Go check em out and tell Phillip ozzy sent you!
Got a couple of drinks and hookah here. Hookah was very bad. We ordered the one made on a pineapple. The pineapple was disrespectfully wasted. Drinks were mediocre too. Not sure about food though.
My first time here and it was amazing! Its very busy and peaceful and the hookah is delish. My favorite Mediterranean place in the city! We were celebrating my sister getting a job and the manager brought over free shots and turned on the disco ball!
Very subpar. When you order a salad they actually put canola oil on it instead of olive oil. Its highly overpriced and the food taste mediocre. The decor is very nice, and quaint. I wouldnt recommend it. As there are many great Mediterranean places. If youre just looking to go for a hookah and a drink then youre at the right place.
I love this place. The ambience and food is really good. The staff is very welcoming but the hookah wasnt really good it was not smooth and hard to smoke and their was no attending available to fix hookah. Except hookah everything else was perfect. I love the place.
If you’ve been to Horus in the past I can confirm it’s not the same anymore lol, it used to be a whole lounge and party scene. With the belly dancers and all that! Now it’s not bad, but it is a proper hookah lounge, nothing will be poppin off but the lounge is nice and bougie. hookah always buss (although the hashish felt light never got a buzz lol) and it’s chill. Cheapest hookah is $25 so it’s calm too. Drink however we’re super garbage and too expensive for the wateriness I had ($15)
A great place for hookah, delicious food, drinks, good ambience and both indoor and outdoor seating.USP:- hookah with variety of flavors- Friendly staff- Super delicious food : do try hummus and wraps- my personal favourite tomato soup (very healthy)- you might also be treated with superb belly dancingThe playlist can be better..
Hookah was great. Service was shoddy in a very small, very manageable place. Two waitresses on a slow Sunday afternoon couldnt manage to refill water after 3 requests, but were standing around chatting most of the time.
The atmosphere is great for studying and doing work during the day and perfect for night lounging. I shared a giant hookah with my fiancee and it lasted us a very long time. It was a great place to chill
Disappointing... we were 6 people, 5/6 wanted to order drinks so they told our friend that she had to leave if she won’t order anything. She waited outside. Drinks were just ok. When we got the bill, they tried to charge us for a drink we never had. Also they overcharged us for the other drinks: 5$ for each drink even though two of them only cost 3$ each on their menu (Egyptian tea) and the cappuccino was 4$?! Not to forget that the gratitude was included in the bill without the option to choose how much we wanted to pay. The staff was overall rude and we had to chase our waitress down to get attention at all. Nobody ever checked back on us if we were alright. Thanks for nothing!
After having a very long and hard two months, i stopped by this spot aftet the Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 Parade. I had a pineapple hooka, shwarma wrap fries, mojito and sangria from heaven, and amazing waitress that help me understand the menu.I highly recommend, i was relaxed to the max and forgot the two past months. Drawing and sketching on avenue A. I highly recommend
Food is always good, Ive been coming here for about 3 years now.
Super great spot with exceptional food, service, and hookah
Went on the weekend and at the perfect time. We got to watch the belly dancer show! Belly dancer was amazing she even came outside to give us a show. We danced, we ate, we smoked hookah. It was just so perfect. The food was delicious, hookah was super smooth, and they gave unlimited refill on the charcoal, I have been to so many places that actually charge you for charcoal refill but not this place. The staff was great, very attentive, and went above and beyond. They even gave us free round of shots. Great spot to bring your visitors from other states to check it out.
Spot is super cute, food and drinks were great. service could have been a little better regarding hookah management like changing the coals/moving them perhaps next time give customers the tongs
Sooo over priced. I had a hookah and a prosecco and the bill came.out to $60. Gratuity was included. I would not have minded the cost if the hookah had been better. On the bright side, I sat outside and its a prime location for East Village people watching.
Fresh and flavorful food. The chicken kebab is the best. Good drinks as well.
The food here is really good for my liking, in the summer the outside seating is amazing and comfortable but if its cold out than sitting inside with kindergarten chairs can be a crazy storm for your back. the hooka is average and the price is just under fair for the city prices but parking is not that bad in the area
Great Hookah and Turkish coffee.
Solid place for breakfast. $12 pancakes w coffee. Can’t beat it.Slow in the morning with plenty of seating.
One of my go to Hookah spots plus some good eats
Excellent Lunch destination! We enjoyed the steak, fries, salad, cocktails, and the dessert menu offers the perfect happy ending 😁
Hookah was perfect. pull was smooth & never became harsh. Coconut coals were great quality. Chill vibe, attentive service Staff.💛 Would definitely recommend.
Went here on a weekday to dinner . Had a groupon that was really a good. We had a cold Horus combo , a hot Horus combo and a mixed grill. The cold combo was good as the grill . Dont recommend the hot combo. It came with some pittas. It was a outside Terrance that is nice.
I really liked the place, the service, the music and was actually really satisfied of the food too. The mood is really good, soft, I love the lights! Im vegetarian and there was a good variety of choice for me, and everything was very good. I really recommend this to anybody.
Horus is a frequent flyer. Great hookah smoke. The reason why Horus Is great, is that they don’t use charcoal rather wood. The smoke is smoother and feels better on your lungs. Remember, gratuity is included already. Food is ok and the belly dancing is a nice touch.
Customer service was terrible. The waiter was flustered and unable to answer any basic questions about the menu. It took them an hour to bring a few cups of water. The ice cream was so melted it looked like milk and the food all tasted as if it was frozen and microwaved. Wouldn’t recommend ever coming here.
Good food, Light on the alcoholic drinks, great hookah but wish we could get the regular nozzles compared to the one use nozzles. Service was slow due to limited workers when I visited.
Aura of the place was nice however they took forever to give us our food(food was worth the$) and wouldnt come and fix our hookah up for us even after my friends and I asked nicely 3 times. So they just gotta work on customer service cause there werent even alot of people there..
If youre tired of the usual brunch fare, this place has some egyptian options, but theyre weirdly only served till noon, which leads to many patrons ditching the place.
Who knew a hookah spot could have such good lamb shawarma at 3 am. All of our waiters have been so kind & accommodating. This is a must for me & Anna to reward ourselves after late night gym sessions. Oh & the hookahs good too.
Uses HERBAL SHISHA that tastes AWFUL nothing like the real thing. They also had the temerity to use coconaras (the square coals), which is ok the natural are better though, but were only half lit. Also these coals are for lazy people who dont want to come around and change them frequently which is fine but even then the coal guy was incredibly difficult to find. Waited while coal was dead for 15-20 min on THREE seperate occasions. The ONLY positive was the waitress i think her name was Jasmine was incredibly attentive and friendly. Thats the only good thing about this place. Food was ok.
Expensive but stylish hookah bar.Get an Egyptian or Moroccan tea together with an Egyptian Pharaon hookah, and chill. The place is cool with live Arab music, but way more relaxing and suggestive when less crowded and more quiet, as this way itll be easier to enjoy the peculiar atmosphere of an intimate chat, surrounded by a cloud of scented smoke, while sipping tea from small glasses full of mint leaves.Downside, asking for the check will put your feet back on the ground.
We did not have hookah. We had hummus tabboule fatoosh and lamb tagineEverything was really good. Large portions. The waitress was great too.
Very friendly nice vibe great food
My go-to place whenever Im in the city. Al is a great manager. Food is delicious. Drinks are not watered down. Reasonable prices. Will be back again.
We enjoyed the atmosphere. Food was great. They added in the tip we had to tell them that that was not cool!! We had to adjust it, so people READ THE BILL CAREFULLY
The lamb chops were cooked to perfect. Excellent value for the food and drinks
This is one of my favorite Friday afternoons go too. The service is second toNo other establishment especially that time of day. Friday afternoon Margarita and ribeye. THANKS GUYS.
Good hangout spot, flavorful hookah with heated outdoor seating during winter. Indoor seating arrangement feels a little too crowded during peak hours.
Some of the most tastiest grill in NY.The place is really nice, people here are so kind and welcoming. Our group of friends kept growing and the waitress just brought more chairs and served us well.Friends smoked Shisha (hookah) and they loved it.Very nice place to dine at. You will enjoy every bite :)
Extremely tender lamb chop. Would happily order this dish again. For some reason the day we came, the music was so loud that we had to really speak up to chat with our friends. Towards the end of the meal, they finally shut off the music which took oddly a long time.I would like to come back here to see what else they have to offer.I do find the pricing to be a tad expensive.
Service was really not good. Food was okay but a little dried out from sitting so long before being brought to the table. Nice people watching at the sidewalk tables though.
Great place, I enjoyed. I went early afternoon for brunch and it was a quiet setting. Food was amazing and wait staff was decent. A place I would definitely visit again
Ive been her a few times. The wait staff is hit or miss, the food and drinks ranged from really good to just ok. Nice cool vibe.
Had a really great outdoor experience here, even in the winter. They have big breakfast portions and cozy isolated tables with space heaters which helped a lot with the cold. The mulled wine was great too, well definitely come back!
Chill atmosphere and friendly staff. We got hookah and some fresh juice (which is actually fresh). Would come back again
Food was fine. Got the meat platter thing. No pyramid. Not very spiced.
Nice
Its a very good environment and comfortable but its a bit small for large groups. Restroom is clean the restaurant in general is good place for couples
Great spot to do work, hookah is always phenomenal!
I highly recommend this place because it has wonderful hookah, delicious food, great staff and a relaxing atmosphere.
The food is fantastic, the hookah brings great vibes and the staff is amazing! Great experience with a couple of friends!
Recommend if you just want to have food Hookah and hangout. The cocktails were average.
Great place to eat, a feel like your out but you can do your work here.
Laptop, hookah, Moroccan tea at Horus = a very productive day of work! Really love the ambience here. And amazing mozzarella sticks and greek salad!
I came here for the first time this evening and everything was perfect. Yusuf and others made my evening perfect. hookah, drinks, food and fresh fruit plate were incredible. I regret discovering this place so late. excellent food and great service. I will definitely come again and recommend it to everyone. I would like to thank the friendly and caring team.
Really good Hookah and the service is superb! Especially Lalu! I own a restaurant and I highly recommend stepping by for a quick bite or a Hookah!
Hookah was good service was good for being full house. wait for outside seating but its worth it. very friendly staff.
Delicious hookah and relaxed atmosphere, nice to sit out and relax. Service always chill and they let you stay for hours.
It was friendly and had great hookah. The Turkish tea was on point. Really good !
One of the best hookah places in NYC with a great atmosphere! Thank you very much!
Nice little hookah bar. Friendly staff and really fast moving and attentive. Decent prices.
Very friendly staff, food was really good
Had the house special hookah; the name escapes me but it was coconut and vanilla 😋
Great Hookah. Great vibes. Top notch service
Coconara coals with great price for a hookah bowl (non-Nicotine). Good music thats not to loud. Neat architecture inside and near a park. Not a full bar, but can get regular well drinks.
Very chill laid back environment for great hookah and drinks. I went monday night so everything wasnt so hectic.
Ill start with the positive review first. The food is really good. We tried the falafel, hawaawshi, lamb chops, Greek salad, warak enab (stuffed vine leaves). The service was good, with cheerful waiters and waitresses.Until we were shocked when we saw the Greek salad with literally TWO pieces of feta cheese (which is the main ingredient for a Greek salad, and the only thing that makes it different from an ordinary green salad). However, the thing that really got on our nerves was a bald rude, very rude waiter. After we requested the check, the check with the cards and all the tips thing done were ready. We waited for a long time for someone to come to take the cards/ come with the visa machine to where we seated. Nobody came, so I took them and went to where the cashier is. Thats when an arrogant waiter started to act in a rude way, implying that I dont understand anything and that hes definitely better than me and all my friends. He talked in a very arrogant and rude way. This was a real turn off.
Not really a great place. Basic decor. We ordered Moroccan tea and they got us green tea and tried to convince us its Moroccan tea. Well thats not good customer experience.
Long time customer of Horus on A since I was in graduate school and relied on them for many a tasty meal. I have tried almost every appetizer, entree, and dessert on the menu - they were all excellent. Service is always great. Cozy atmosphere. Manhattan prices. Recently visited them on a business trip and they are still great, but I tried one of their new dishes on the menu (Lamb Tagine) and wasn’t a huge fan (barely any meat on the lamb shank and quite disappointing in price/flavor). Falafel is still fabulous. Here’s one minor complaint I don’t think I’ve ever given before: their bathroom is clean and stylish but not well-lit (standing in the wrong place in the bathroom can make the toilet very hard to see lol).
My best hookah in NY metro! Lovely staff!!
So glad your drink policy and attitude made me go somewhere else. I found your competitor with better products across the street. Deuces and thanks.
My girlfriend loves hookah and I love tea, so Horus was a great compromise for both of us. While I cant comment on the hookah, I can confirm that their Egyptian tea is excellent. They provide mint for extra flavor, so I just threw it in the pot. Well be back again.
Love this place after my first visit!! Food, hookah and the service deserves 5 stars!
Very little space.. as it was busy I felt like the people at next table are part of my party and puff hookah in my face
Good vibes, good hookah. Gets crowded so better reserve
Good hookahs/ dessert / coffee !My husband and I enjoyed it!
Phenomenal
Food was good but the ambience is really poor with old furniture and dishes. Service was slow even in 20% occupancy
Nice place to chill while enjoying hookah & decent food. Good vibe & good service too.
Hookah is good but price is high .no place to move in and tables is small.
I like this place. Good hookah and service. Many young people. Nice place for dating.
The cafe has good hookah and decent food but service is bad. They are quite rude.
Great service, friendly staff, amazing hookah, delicious food and drinks.
Good hookah and food with fair prices, my go to hookah place
Great spot to work out off and chill with Good food and beers on a Friday afternoon!
Disrespectful staff with bad manners. There are so many other hooka lounges that provide a much better service in NYC.
Great service, great food. Limited menu, but was still pretty good
Great food. Great location. Friendly staff. Will definitely come back
The hookahs were plentiful and the food was surprisingly delicious and plated beautifully.
Best hookah in Manhattan hands down . When it comes to flavors I’m very picky , many of the hookah bars around the city only have the normal (lemon with mind and Apple etc). The hookah here is far better . My go to is Lady in Red . It’s a rose flavor hookah (which is hard to find).
Best Hooka place with great service
Great service, smooth hookah, a lot of food for your money.
So bad experience the server and managers So bad to deal with customers and when I asked to talk with the manager who respond by we don’t want to help you sooo bad and disgusting how this people still existI talk to them first because I waited more than 40 minutes no one came and pick up my orderEven the manager replies the comments down below where silly doesn’t mean anythingThat Iraq employee was racistاذا انت عربي ابعد عن هذا المكان سيء جدا جداالعراقيالمدير على ما اعتقد المشرف كان عنصري وحقيربالاضافه لاحظت ان ردود المطعم كلها على التعليقات بشكل شبه الي وفقط تمشية حال
My home away from home! Wonderful staff, great hookah/food/drinks.
Horrible service from the time we walked in. There were 3 of us and they made us feel guilty for being there asking if there was a spade open for 3. Overcharged us when we asked to split the bill in two.
It is the best hookah lounge in new York. The staff is friendly and professional.
Good hookah and amazing lamb burger. Great spot for hangout with friends.
Wow ! best hookah lounge in NYC hands down. We tried the watermelon min hookah with the fruit head and that was smooth! Service is on point. Everyone there is smiling and fun environment. Will be back for sure !
Great food, great staff .very cozyI highly recommend it
Great Falafel. Great Hooka
Amazing food.... hookah was excellent
They have great mocktails and hookahs. Staff is attentive, establishment is clean, the music could be better but overall it’s a great place. I would recommend it to anyone looking for hookah in the east village.
It’s extremely too small inside. The food is okay.. not well seasoned in my opinion. The atmosphere is cool especially the belly dancer. Be careful not to trip over a hookah they place on the floor.
Great food! Certified Egyptian food. Service is amazing. Great job to the Kitchen!
The hookah?? bad i’m sorry. Not enough flavor, water and it’s not a good set up at all. yeah no
Overpriced minimum $30 per personDont goGo to Gardenia
Good hookah spot along with great middle eastern food.
Amazing vibe at Horus Cafe! The service was great and the waiters and manager are really nice. Ahmed was so accommodating and Yusuf from Turkey was so sweet and made sure we got a table quickly and checked up on us frequently. We will definitely come back again!!
Yousef from Turkey gave amazing service and was very attentive. They made great recommendations, was very patient and friendly. Will be back again and highly recommend.
$7 beers.$20 minimum to pay with card feels scammy.Okay wifi.
Drinks tasted like juice, but the food was good.
Great food, great service, awesome hookah!
Fun spot to chill, a lot of people come here to study. Staff is great.
Great place for hookah, very friendly staff.
Great place ..I always have a good time &good food
Best foodBest serviceBest hookah spot in NYC
Nice Place, lots of Memories, yet expensive for just a Hookah and a drink....
Wonderful service, generous portions, great pricing and delicious food could not ask for more
I needed a local place with good labneh. The mezze options are my favorite.
We are very pleased with our server Yusuf from Turkey. Great hookah and drinks!
Cool spot for very nicely done hookah, it isnt easy to find a good hookah in Manhattan, this is one of the good once, they know what they are doing.
The marg pitchers were awesome and it was a great place to congregate with nice ambience, but the hookah was scratchier than expected and left something to be desired.
I did visit this place for like three times. Great food and hookah. Do try this place if you like Mediterranean food. Hummus and platters are really good.
Great shisha spot! One of my favorites in NYC
The Food Was Beyond Satisfying Amazing Service Would Definitely Come Back & Recommend To Others One Of The Best In The Area
This place has gone down hill. I’ve been coming here for over ten years. Came with a party of 10 with reservations. We were seated 30 minutes after the reservation. Ordered five hookahs. The flavor that I always smoke and recommended to everyone was out. Then Four out of the five hookahs weren’t the right flavors and one that was tasted horrible. This crowd smokes daily. We sent 3 of the hookahs back. By the time the new ones came it was another 45 minutes. At this point people have been here for an hour and a half without smoking. Then we sat for about 30-40 minutes because the new hookahs that came out were terrible. I don’t think they clean the hookah or they are recycling the fruit heads. I don’t think this location can accommodate a large group. I’m writing this review but If my whole table were to write reviews then every single one of us would give this place a 1 star. It’s better in the day time but will never go here again with a group. I felt embarrassed recommending this place and had people call me to tell me how terrible their experience and hookah was here. Very disappointed
Average food. Ok service. $20 pot of tea lol.
Good services, overpriced
That hookah was amazing and so were the drinks.
Great hookah spot, but the chairs could be more comfy
The place is ok, hookah is ok, and nice staff
The food is not bad, we went there mainly for hookah, I wished they have more relaxing atmosphere instead of all the other restaurants set up.
This place got me through all of nyc. Food and shisha on point.
I am a regular here the hookah and food is honestly so freaking good. The staff here is friendly, fast and very attentive if you need anything.
Nothing is Egyption there except the name of the restaurantIf you want Egyption food dont go there,Even the atmosphere, music,....... are not EgyptionThis star for the staff, they were kind 🌹
My friend brought me here.. Very nice place. The service was very good and so was the hookah (and Im not a fan of hookah lol) To eat we shared an appetizer platter, we chose fried calamari, buffalo wings and french fries. They were all good except for the bland calamari. The drinks were good but not that strong. Oh and I must not forget, it was a $30 minimum to dine in! 🌟
Good romantic place and the man on the bar [ marwan ] is the best
Great shisha, friendly service, excellent food. All that and cozy vibes. What is not to like?
Great place for a quick bite of Mediterranean food
Its fine. The hookah is good and the waiters leave you alone. I mean, really leave you alone. Really. You also only ever get an order that is almost correct - not correct, almost correct. But its fine to just sit and talk and smoke and during the summer, the location cant be beat. Sit outside and enjoy the Tompkins Square crowd.
The desserts were good, they took extremely long to give our drinks and they also gave us green tea when we never asked for it but it was good so we didnt really care. As for the hookah, it was good in the beginning and when we requested a coal change, about 30 minutes passed before we decided to just leave. They were pretty packed so I guess you should take that into consideration. The staff was really nice though. Might go back but not anytime soon.
Amazing place and atmosphere, food really good
Very good food and enjoyed the environment.
Had hookah and Moroccan tea. They serve alcoholic beverages too
Food is good, hookah is good. I’ve been coming here for years.
Where has this place been.... cute and cozy on a Sunday night in the NYC...the Horace Eye... a must have
Just stopped in for a drink and hookah with a couple friends. Service was good and good times were had.
Sometimes there is a belly dancer that comes around to entertain. I love the real fruit hookah that you can get here. I tried hookah for the very first time here when I visited NYC back in 2016 before I moved to the city. Then after moving to the city this place became a bit of a regular place to take friends who enjoyed hookah. And a late night drink.
Hookah was okay... Service need to ne improved
Use to go here like 3 years ago, the hookah is not the same as before. Overpriced now too.
Very comfy atmosphere, even though it is small and at some point it was crowded. Friendly staff with good service. It is worth mentioning the cleanliness of the place. Hookah was delicious. Over all, 10x guys :) it was pleasure visiting.
Great Outdoor covid safe seating with great Mediterranean food, ample alcohol options, and good hookah quality. Why four stars? As others have noted already, their service can be slow at times and you may not find a waiter checking in on you for 20-30 minutes, which can be really unfortunate if you are still waiting for you main course orders to be put in. Certainly budget some extra time for a relaxed outing without being hurried, and youll really enjoy this spot in East Village.
The food here is actually pretty good. However, prepare yourself for slow & forgetful service. The place wont be extremely busy, yet youll have to remind the server 2 or 5 times for practically everything. Still enjoyed my time here with my group of friends, but none of us would return here for our going out nights.
Always have a great time here. It’s a bit tight but well worth it. Food is great, service is great. All around great place to be. Wish I lived closer.
Hands down my favorite hookah spot in the city. Great option for brunch, happy hour or dinner. Hookah flavors are awesome, good food, and the staff is always very friendly to our dogs outside even bringing them snacks and bowls of water. Always come here when I have a chance
Not the best tasting Thia food.
I love my shisha time here!
Loved this place! Its really chill and fun.
I enjoy the place and the service. Well attentive with the costimers.
I have been coming to horus for years and it was my ultimate fav place in east village. But recently their hookah downgraded so much. Hookah came after 30 minutes, it was burnt with no flavor no smoke at all coming out and they fixed it 2 times and it was still really bad. My friends got 2 hookahs too that they had to fix and in the 2 hour frame period we were there they only came to change the coal ONCE! After asking them multiple times for coal, no one came. Idk what happened to them but they just lost themselves 3 customers that were coming for years.
Super chill place with outdoor seating for hookah
Great shisha, food & service - thanks guys! Will be back for sure
It was very busy around 8pm and they were having trouble seating everyone correctly. The food was good the hookah was perfect. Even though they were a bit frazzled they kind and patient and working very hard to accommodate everyones needs, which I can definitely appreciate. I will definitely go back here for the food and hookah. Hopefully things will be a bit more organized.
