SCAMMER ALERT!!! -5 star if I can.Where do I start….There were only 3 group guests when we arrived and no one else was there during a typhoon pouring rain night.They sat us at an individual table for when we’re 3 people.So, we asked if they can put two tables together. The waiter says “sure” multiple times coming back I keep asking for it and never did.Not sure why I even asked for it but it should come automatically for cold tap water on the table when customers arrives. but, never did. so, I asked for it.Wallah!!!! a water bottle came in lol.I asked, was all three water bottle free ? Because I asked for tap water with ice.At this point it starts to annoy me.We ordered two deserts so, no issue there but, they seem like they want us to order more and pushing us to order other things when we’ve already said no multiple times smh.I go to many hookah lounge and they seem to don’t know or don’t like what are they doing but anyway, they never change the coal until I asked.No problem changing the coal there.However, the moment changing the coal, I noticed that the base where they put the herbs or whatever they call, it is a pineapple when I never asked for it and not the regular. From what I know, those cost separately. So, I told who we’re handling the coal to ensure that we never did order that.She says I’ll let them know.Later, that wasn’t addressed and we were told, “why didn’t you said anything earlier? And saying something now” lol. Scammer is all I can see of what he’s doing.Then he also got the nerve to tell me, it’s only $3 blah blah blah.Gtfoh.Idk how he is working here SCAMMING people.But, Perhaps the owner knows and they select people who to do it with.You got the wrong one to mess with.The ladies seemed nice but, they’re just as bad as the others playing along with them.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I recently dined at Horus Cafe On B and was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely phenomenal, bursting with flavors and cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was amazing, creating a perfect setting for a memorable meal. And to top it all off, they have the best hookah in town! Highly recommend this place for an exceptional dining experience.

Horus is absolutely Hoorible, filled with Hoors. Absolutely insane prices. Horrible service. And they charge you an insane gratuity. The songs are bad too. Staff was incredibly rude

Went for bottomless brunch.... drinks are good and pretty strong. Given to us in a pitcher... food was very delicious. Hookah is good but strong for about an hour... Mina gave us great customer service from when we walked in until we left... place is very comfortable and welcoming.

Horrible was a total scam. Food took to long to arrive and the hookah wasn’t properly made. Worst night definitely look for other places to enjoy your night.

Outdoor dining setup was great, private booth with heaters, call buttons given to get the attention of a waiter, and mask up when they come in to the booth.🍾 choice was La Luca which was nice.Food - NYE Fixed menu:Apps included Dolma (warm and nice spice flavour), Baba ghanoush, Humus and some really good Falafel served with Tahini and warm pita bread. Main course was slightly disappointing - mixed grill - the meats were over cooked, so was dry and the side of rice was unimpressive for a Mediterranean spot. The Veg option came with just additional zucchini and mushrooms grilled. The salad was probably lazily put together unfortunately - cut up romaine with a few cucumber and tomato slices. Tabouleh would have been a nice option to say the least.Dessert - now Bakhlava is a fine art, and we are a gard crowd to please when it comes to desserts we grew up eating. So, Id give it 5/10 for effort, was just a little something sweet-ish to end the night with.The staff were very friendly and accommodating - Thank you!

Great Egyptian Place. The appetizer mezze platter is very good. Get the sheesha with the ice hose. Worth the extra $10. The sheesha is excellent. Food is made fresh so be patient. Love DJ Mina when he’s there. Make sure you give the belly dancer a tip or she will harass you and keep reaching her hand to you for money even if she sees you getting your wallet out. Lmao. Never again for the belly dancer.

Great to visit especially if you are looking for Arabic and Halal food in NYC, the food taste is average but compared to the others in the city its considered delicious, recommended if you dont have kids as they are not allowed inside, the outside area was cool but now its summer and weather were very hot, prices are a bit higher than the others around the city, I tried the mix grill, Mulukhiyah which was great, but the cream caramel and the cheesecake werent good at all, they do also have Hookah, in general, it was a good experience.

We got some appetizers and one entree (veggie kabobs) Nothing great or nothing bad about this place, food, drinks and service. We haven’t tried the hookah but it looked fun. A one time try.

Very cozy restaurant with relaxed seating and decor, that gives it an elegant but laid-back vibe. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and accommodating, and the food and drinks were amazing. The food was affordable, very tasty and flavorful, with their steak and eggs being one of the best Ive had in NYC. They also offer a bottomless brunch option of $40 with the purchase of a brunch item, which the choice from a wide variety of flavored mimosas, bellini and sangria.

The food is tasty, but beware of the pushy waitress. She imposed a drink minimum on my friend and I. It didn’t matter if it was alcoholic or not. Personally, I feel paying $9 for a lemonade is egregious.

Awesome spot. Quick stop on the way for a bite. They offer shisha and smoking indoor and out. Very nice environment.

Food is spectacular. Shisha is really really good. Highly recommend. They lose me when the place turns into a nightclub in the late evening. When the DJ arrives you know it’s time to leave 😂

It was a lovely experience. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Hookah was nice and we had the mezza platter which was tasty. They serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks and the black tea with mint (recommended by the staff ) was very pleasant! Overall, we had an enjoyable time!

A bunch of our friends came to this lounge/restaurant last night and we had a GREAT time.The food was excellent- I ordered the Macarona Bechemel.The staff and servers were extremely warm and friendly.The hookah was amazing- we had grape with mint.The music and belly dancer was INCREDIBLE and so fun.Definitely a 5 star experience and I will be back.

I had such a great time here and cant wait to come back! There was a live DJ who was playing a little bit of everything. I loved the vibe. The hookah was good. The french fries were delicious. Most importantly, the staff was accommodating, very friendly and attentive.

Came here on my date night because it has a “higher review” than our regular spot. We got there they were at maybe 5%-10% capacity, we asked to sit outside since it’s a beautiful evening. We asked for one of the larger tables since there was only one other one occupied out of 10 others and the waitress told us we had to order a lot of food to sit there. We graciously sat at the smaller table and waited at least 15 minutes to which the waitress never came back and we see her smoking hookah and tending to people inside. We eventually got up and left since we had been waiting 15+ mins and never got to put in an order. Just really poor service, especially for our first visit.

I had a good time for my 1st time. Didnt try their food but the hookah was great and the vibes was perfect. Played good music and they even had a belly dancer. Wish they had more of a wine selection but overall a good time. No complaints.

Great hookah. Ambiance is beautiful. Staff was decent… I’ve only been here twice. However, I was there for 30 minutes and saw a cockroach the length of a hookah tip. Very disappointing because I really did like it here for the most part. Now I’m scared to return and left immediately after bringing it to the server’s attention… there was no compensation and I did not get to enjoy my hookah.

Amazing place great atmosphere and extremely welcoming owners. Hookah and strawberry mojito was great. You should also try their Egyptian tea. Definitely will be back soon!

I personally recommend this location to anyone that enjoys the night life with variety.For starters the employees are extremely friendly, they always go above and beyond to take care of the guest.Now i really like the food, the drinks are good & they also offer a hookah. I don’t smoke however its not an issue for me since there’s circulation.There’s even a live DJ & they go in!

Best hookah in the city IMO, friendly service and the food is actually really authentic. Their mix grills are epic, and hookah is very smooth - try the blue mist mint

The experience at Horus Cafe was literally exceptional! But that is mainly because of our server Youssef. He was amazing. Anybody who goes here, make sure you request for him. He was extremely attentive. Whatever you need, he would be right there making sure that you are receiving great customer service. We literally didn’t even have to struggle getting a drink. And whatever the request, he would quickly provide. I want to thank him and the owner for providing us with a memorable experience. I’ve now become a loyal and constant customer. You won’t regret your visit, here at Horus Cafe on Avenue B!

Shisha, hookah and food was good. The manager was our waiter which he deserves 5 stars HOWEVERThe other waitress (chubby one) when bringing out the food, came and bumped and hit my shoulder HARD, (didnt even say excuse me)We asked our waiter/manager to move because the couch was uncomfortable.3 minutes later she comes with ATTITUDE saying who let you move there.She wasnt even our server….She runs around like a maniac just disturbing the vibe and honestly looking at the reviews made me realize this problem has been going on for over 5 months now

Chill spot to grab good food and hookah. Apparently celebrities go there because we ran into Usher and his entourage. Our server Mina was very attentive and made sure we got everything we needed in a timely manner. We werent that hungry so we just got some hummus, which was really good, and a hookah (pomegranate). The hookah was very smooth and tasted great. I definitely recommend both Horus A and Horus B.

I had a birthday party over the weekend at this place and I had a fantastic time. I had a party of 18 people and the service was impeccable. Hookahs are top notch and taste delicious. The food was great (lamb kabob, chicken kabob, various salads) and the presentation was fantastic. I thought I would have a problem with the drinks, but it turned out that they were very strong having been made with Korean Vodka. My only gripe is finding parking in the location took a lot of my party members an average of 25 minutes so get there early. I will def. return to this place for dinner and hookah again.The belly dancing show was pretty fun as well.

I’d give 0 stars if I could... My friends and I called in advance to make reservations, and upon arrival they forced us to sit outside. We politely asked if we could move inside several times and were told that they were at full capacity.1. If you are at full capacity; why would you allow for us to reserve a table?2. What’s the point of making a reservation if we are forced to sit outside?3. We walked inside several times to use the bathroom and saw at least 5 tables open.I’ve never been treated this poorly in my dining experience.

What a cool place! We stumbled upon Horus Cafe during the last night of my bachelorette party. I called them ahead of time to see if they were packed since I had so many girls with me and I asked the person on the phone what the vibes were like. He told me that people were dancing, there was a DJ, and it was good vibes. I was a little worried cause most hookah places with a DJ are always super loud and clubby and that was just not what we were trying to do but we decided to give it a shot and I was so pleasantly surprised!!The vibes were good! Everyone was just hanging out in their respective areas smoking hookah and having drinks. Their menu was a little pricey so beware but overall, it was worth it. There was even a DJ playing amazing arabic music, american pop, and even bollywood music. People were dancing but some were just sitting vibing. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. I was seriously so happy and could not have asked for a better end to my bachelorette night.

Every time I visit Im always welcomed by the staff and they go out of their way to make sure Im taken care of.The food is fresh and tasty, the hookah is always so great and hookah guys they are very nice .The place is so cozy its hard for me to want to go home. I reccomend this place to everyone.Oh let me not forget the belly dancers are always very entertaining. dj very good

The first time I went we were told that theres a 25$ minimum per person before midnight. I dont think that rule actually exists but its what the bouncer told us. The hookah is delicious; served in a pineapple! The belly dancing is awesome and the drinks are great. Its easy to blow a lot of money here for the hookah, drinks, and entertainment but its definitely going to be a good time

Come to this place just for the vibes! Horus Cafe was late open on a Friday sans Belly dancers :( but we got the best falafel at this hour for my drunk crew. If you wanna get Horus Cafe in a single plate, then I would recommend the Cairo Mezza Combo. The grape leaves stuffings were sumptuous and did not let me stop with one. Cant begin to talk about the Falafel until you have tasted them!Hookahs, if you are a big group or a small one tucked away without space, the staff were kind enough to move around people and accommodate us! With one drag you would know the quality. Dont miss the Guava flavoring.I will return again and watch the live performance.

Wonderfully friendly staff. We had a puppy with us, they brought out a doggy water fountain. Baklava is crispy and tasty. Sangria pitcher is large and the beverage is delicious.

Always a great place to be. Hookah is great, service is great. Ambiance can get loud, but not always. And the food is fairly good. I still usually go for the hookah, though, so dont usually focus much on the food.

Ive been coming to horus on Avenue B for more than 6 years on a regular basis and I am going to first say its the best hookah in NYC Ive been to other places and it doesnt compare. I can also understand that everybody has a right to their opinion but as a regular customer I can assure you that everyone is treated with respect and a sense of a second home. Fridays and Saturdays are a more of a party vibe always with good music an eclectic mix of people and great service the music is always on point too. Other days the service is always on point. The servers, managers and other staff are always respectful and accommodating. I love it here and thats why Ive been coming here for the past 6 plus years. Thanks to all the people in horus for making it my 2nd home.

Waitress was more than great. They provide fast hookah service but was very disappointed as they didnt have the belly dancer we came to see. The drinks also were not great. Either too much mint in the drink or way too much lemon. Food was also great

Horus on B is a very great place to enjoy your food, drinks & amazing hookah. This place has excellent customer service, the employees are very friendly, mindful of everything they’re doing overall and they have the best hookahs overall in the NYC area.

I only came here because Sahara East was closed (they have far better hooka) they turned me away because I had 1/2 vaccinations. Bad enough that we are forcefully being vaccinated, even worse that I was turned away because Im outside the window of getting my second shot.

Great place for Arabic music, sometimes for American music! When we come to the place they put us Russian songs, cause my friends we all speak Russian! Nice and delicious food! Super nice staff!

I love this place, but last time I visited it I was disappointed with the waiter. I came in with a smoothie that was half way done and he literally grabbed it from the table and said no outside drinks. I was with my wife and I felt like this could’ve been handled much more respectful

The food wasnt bad. But this people charge you a $20 service charge when the service was sadly lacking. This girls where just standing there day dreaming. They wouldnt go around ask if you needed anything. They need more costume service experience.

No one enjoys a disappointing meal, no matter how good the service or atmosphere. I chose the AveB locatiion for the space. We came from CT..to spend an eventful day in the city. We have enjoyed many meals of this cuisine and this has been The Best . I became a fan of Babargobush right here! . It was much more refined and elegante in taste and this is an appetizer. The triangles of pita was hot and satisfying. My companion had the Lamb kebobs andI had the Beef Kofta.. severed on a sizzling ornate drums, with rice, salad and tahini . Trust me, we wanted to order alot more. Everything served well and with our perfect host. They also have Hookas here so the air will be aromantic and lively. We were at the end of our visit and too stuffed for dessert.. It was a great visit. Oh the drinks we had was a lemonade mint .. not much mint and not tall enough for the 9$ price. Ask for water if you desire.. its not customary it appears. No room on the tables. Our meal was able to use the tables next to us, Staff are very accomdating and geniune here. You can get the true Egyptian platters. Were looking forward to it .

This was a really cute louge that we went to for hookah. They seemed to be short staffed but the hookahs were good and our server was nice.

Waited 45min for a burger. Continue sly told to wait 5 minutes. What a waste of time. Avoid this place guys. Feta cheese in a burger with spinach and caramelised onions in a brioche bun. The feta was very over powering.

Nice hookah cafe in the East Village.

We had a really good time at Horus. The atmosphere was super chill laidback vibes. Customer service was on point for the most part; it started out really good but as the night went on we started seeing our server less and less frequently. (For perspective: a couple sat next us and left after 30 mins of just sitting there and not having their order taken.) It took us 20 minutes to get our servers attention to close out the tab. I understand he got busy and seemed somewhat flustered.I share all this to say I’d definitely go back. The atmosphere, DJ, and hookah (which came out with 10 minutes ordering) make this spot definitely worth tapping into if you’re just tryin to cool out.

This place is an east village institution because of the big mural outside on St. Marks, but the food is bland and the service is indifferent. Keep strolling down St. Marks.

After having a wonderful experience at another Horus lounge, we decided to try this one. While the hookah was excellent, the service from our waitress was NOT. She was rude from the moment we came in, charged us for incorrect items, slammed drinks on our table and snatched our menus. The guy working there has great service on the contrary. Maybe she was having a bad day… but girl… take a break. The attitude was unnecessary and made me uncomfortable. Food was ok! She’s the main reason for the 2 stars. DJ was great in the beginning as well. Nice environment and fun crowd!Where I come from… you give a tip for standard service and excellent service. Therefore, we did not leave a tip. We were accosted at the door to be told that we did not leave a tip…We know. It was intentional. The service from our waitress sucked. Possibly because we were black. The other ethnicity’s in the building received good service🤷🏽‍♀️ Sorry… we deserve good service as well. There’s a tip for you… give good service to everyone!!

We called them at 3am and they told us to come in. We got there and ordered our drinks and hookah and paid right away. They literally grabbed the hookah out of my friend’s hands as he was smoking it, BEFORE 4am. That is THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Without any warning, they just take away hookah and drinks that we paid for. That doesn’t make any sense. Before letting people into your establishment, let them know that you’re going to confiscate the things they paid for and also include gratuity in the bill. A 5 or 10 minute warning would be nice. I work in the service industry and we would never EVER do that because we know how to treat our guests, especially when they paid a good price. HORRIBLE SERVICE. They do not care about you after you’ve given them your hard earned money. You’re better off going home and going to bed than coming here.

Always come here when we want a place with good food and great vibes. Music is always good. Food and drinks are very well done. Hookah is great! Highly recommend! Overall a really great place to go out!

The place is fairly small but quiet and the pastry is good

I was there last weekend with my friends and the hookah was very good, the flavors were very good, but we had a waitress who was chubby and very extremely fatal. When we arrived, she looked at us with an attitude. the menu, thats no way to respond I wanted to order some chicken tacos she answered the same thing where she had come before and they had served me the chicken tacos she was never able to return to the table and ask if she was okay we tried to call her and she just ignored us I think she shouldnt be in a place like that if she doesnt like dealing with people I would love to go back to the place but without being served by her the worst waitress Ive ever seen but everything super good I think her name is MIMI

Came in by chance on a Saturday night while walking around the area looking for a spot to go. The DJ was great and set a good vibe & the drinks were just right. It was a popular spot but tables were nicely spaced apart, didnt do any hookah but they had a solid flavor selection

Food was okey, hookah was good , place was cosy to chill and manager was very nice but chubby waitress was the worst of all times. This place needs to get rid of her otherwise this place will go bankrupt soon. I am not coming back there until she leaves! Also couch we were sitting was kind a broken and very uncomfortable.

There’s a lot to write home about this place (the delicious food, the reasonable prices, the laissez faire vibes) but the one thing you should know is this: The music! Is so much better! Than it has any right to be!!! It’s like the clock struck 10 pm and the owners flicked a “lit” switch, with the rest of the evening set to a textured, heart pumping 138 worthy of Mirage, Elsewhere, and other places of that ilk. Totally out of the blue. Totally and unequivocally appreciated. High fives all around

My husband and I had iced tea there today. The restrooms were clean and we were not rushed to finish.We were very surprised at the high price for iced tea - $8.50 each. There was nothing special about it. We had delicious iced tea on Broadway in a lovely atmosphere yesterday for half the price.

Koshary wasn’t the best, especially the tomato sauce. Waiters are very friendly. People usually go for hookah. If you are not a hookah smoker, or you have asthma, not the best place to go to.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Came here for a friends birthday only to be greeted by the waitress with a terrible attitude. She constantly rolls eyes while taking your order or abruptly leaves before you could get your order in. After our first round of drinks, our entire group expressed dissatisfaction. This womans reply was that its been on the table too long so I cant take it back. We explained that we had 1 sip of it and if she hadnt taken so long to come back and see if our order was okay, thats not our fault how long they were sitting on the table. We asked for the manager but he/she never came. Several orders later and this woman took forever to bring our orders or she would simply forget our new drinks. She did not come around and we had to keep flagging down other waiters/waitresses. At one point, this woman came to the table to tell us everything will be on one bill because Im getting confused. We asked her if shes getting confused why not just write down the orders? She again replied Im just telling you, I just work here, I dont make the rules. I again asked for a manager but no one ever came. Get it together lady! If your attitude is that sour, maybe you shouldnt work in an environment with people where you need to wait on them and take their orders!To top it off, they charged me a $20 service fee for holding a cake I personally brought in for my friend’s birthday. I was told they would bring it out, serve it with sparklers, and write her name on the cake board. I brought in stickers and asked them if they would be able to apply the stickers to spell out Happy Birthday and I was told there was no need as they write it in icing. Fast forward to the cake..when I had enough of this place and asked for the cake to be brought out I was told I had to wait... and finally when it was brought out.. my friend was given 2 sparklers to hold in her HANDS and there was no writing on the cake whatsoever. Finally, the “manager,” who never once introduced himself when we asked for management, CHASED after us to say how appalled he was that we only gave a $10 tip for a $300 tab!!!! In my opinion, $10 was way too generous and he should be grateful they even got that much!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Agatha was our server- the seats were horrible at 9 PM. The place was not packed but we couldnt sit in any of the good seats because all 4 sections were reserved. We came with a group of 6 people ready to eat and drink. They couldnt arrange better seats. Our backs were killing us. They said 1 minimum drink per person after they made us order a hookah. Then they said 1 drink per person. Yeah. I had to order a ginger ale since their service sucks. Thanks, but no thanks. They wont get my $ again

Great cafe, excellent service. Typically packed to the brim with no availability on Saturday nights. Get there early. Some of the best hookah in the city. The staff and door men are very friendly and helpful. If they cant seat you they will recommend an alternative location. The cafe also serves great food. Belly Dancer fills the evening nights through the end of the week.

Tonight I was there, the place is good, the show is great, but the waitress was so rude, we were about to order more things but her attitude just kill the vibe , she didn’t even pick up our plates after we were done, this place needs more waitresses definitely cause the service is slow and for this kind of events i think they need to have more help.

This place is great for dates or groups. Hookah is standard, nothing special but the servers check up on your hookah regularly. The neighborhood has a chill vibe and its easy to hop around from place to place. Depending on the bartender drinks are watered down or just right. Please do not go to this hookah bar/restaurant. The server wrote an incorrect tip and charged that incorrect tip into my account and when I called back to tell management, they said that the tip was written on my check so they were going to charge it. I am sorry? So your employee fraudulently alters my check and you are going to honor it? Poorly run business and i will not be going back.

Great hookah and seating. A little pricey but worth it every now and then. Good for women but plan to spend at least two.hours with a fruit head hookah.
