What an amazing night on Saturday! 💃 The music was great and the atmosphere was super nice. I had a lot of fun dancing and sharing with friends. Definitely, a place to recommend. I hope to come back soon! 😉
Industry Bar is a Hell’s Kitchen favorite, known for its vibrant energy, sleek interior, and inclusive vibe. Highlights include top-notch drag shows like Queen at Industry on Thursdays at 11 PM. With great DJs, quick bartenders, and solid cocktails, it’s a must-visit for nightlife lovers.
Man, I wish I could give this place a better review. Sadly, the bouncers give this place a “one star” from me, although I love the inside and crew that run it. Such a shame that bouncers have to take out their negative energy on innocent patrons. Will not be back… there are plenty of other gay bars in HK worth visiting without being harassed without cause. 0/10

I’ve been going to industry for years and even celebrated my birthday there.I had two disgruntled and lazy security guards who did not want to do their job, so they had me do the extra work of emptying my bag and kicked me out plus cursed at me while I was doing so.Overall, industry is a lovely & festive venue and I hope nobody else has the unpleasant interaction as I did.
Recently went here with my friends and the bouncer outside put his hands on my female friend. When we told him to stop and to ask to speak with the manager, he said he did not even work there after scanning out ID’s. Of course i questioned this and he said i need to “learn how to take a joke”. And when i said “how am i supposed to know this is a joke when dealing with my personal information” he proceeded to scream in my face for 15 minutes to not curse at him. Multiple people in the line stepped in and said that I did not even curse and he was screaming at them as well to mind their business and that they will get kicked out as well. We continued to ask for the manager and he said to just call the cops and that he would not go inside to get the manager and that we would not be allowed in, and then proceeded to ban us. Not to mention, we were in a group and he ONLY banned the ones he lied about and put his hands on. Will be calling to speak with the manager.
I love this place.Especially if you’re in the nightlife industry. And now that I’ve read the reviews, I love it even more.Like yes, please keep turning the straights and open toed shoes away - it’s truly giving.
Its a great place. Amazing atmosphere completely different than the other gay bars in the area. And to all of those straight people complaining about not being allowed to wear sandals and open toe shoes, its a gay bar. If you dont like the policies, you can literally go to any bar in the rest of the world freely and without judgement or fear. Do that.
Fun drag show and dive bar! The bartender was personable and the drink prices weren’t terrible for the location. Walking distance to Broadway. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a visit.Note: not one of the cash only bars in the area.
DO ABSOLUTELY NOT GO THERE. I had a really disappointing experience at Industry. Despite being polite and respectful, I was turned away at the door because I took my ID back too quickly from the bouncer. The bouncer was very rude and dismissive. Its unfortunate because I was looking forward to enjoying the night with friends, but this experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope the management looks into how their staff treats potential customers. There are plenty of other places in NYC where you can have a great time without feeling disrespected
Located in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, Industry NYC is a go-to spot for young, vibrant nightlife. Known for its strong drinks and lively atmosphere, this gay bar is a popular hangout for locals and visitors alike.Ambience: The vibe here is energetic, with great music to keep the crowd moving. However, it can feel a bit cold socially, which might reflect the New Yorker culture.Decor: Trendy and modern with a stylish, urban edge. Perfect for the Hell’s Kitchen scene.Crowd: Very crowded, even on a Thursday night. While it’s buzzing with activity, it’s not the friendliest crowd. Best to visit with friends to avoid feeling out of place.Drinks: Strong and well-mixed, a highlight of the experience.Entertainment: No specific performances during my visit, but the music and overall atmosphere create a lively space to let loose.Music: Great mix of tracks that keep the energy high all night.Pro Tips: Come with a group to make the most of the experience. Arrive early if you want to find a good spot, as it fills up quickly.Overall: A great spot for vibrant energy and strong drinks, but not the place to expect a welcoming solo experience. Perfect for a night out with friends.
Been going since it opened. Service has always been friendly to benign. Tonight though… Go if you want baby queers who’ve never heard of Keith Haring telling you you’re old or if you want random security person to tell you not to sit on the arm of the sofas… Oy. Am I in middle school? I’d complain the drinks are bad but it would only be because they are lethally strong which the cheap ass baby queers prob love.
Bartenders are pathetic! I just asked on my shots which one’s which. And one of them just shrugs and doesn’t tell me. This place is not for people who just want a chill night out with no drama. Attached pics are for that specific bartender who behaved utterly unprofessional. They don’t deserve to be in public service. My request to the owners to hire only those who know how to be nice and treat others well. Since you are in a service industry, if you can’t have a recurring customer you are not successful at all!!
Usually like this place but the bouncer was rude, aggressive, and ableist. My boyfriend has a disability and takes medication that relaxes him. This causes bouncers to question him a lot when we go out which were used to. When I tried to explain to the bouncer that he takes medication, he yelled in my face that he wasnt talking to me and if he cant answer for himself he cant get in, which is just an unacceptable response imo. Luckily my boyfriend spoke up and we still got in, but the damage was done. What if my boyfriend was actually mute? Please hire better security.
Visited here on a Friday night, got there a bit early I would say, but it picked up shortly after. It was difficult enough to spot because there was some scaffolding outside, and they keep a low profile to not disturb neighbors, but it is worth finding!Good bar staff, a good mix of music, plenty of space to dance, watch others dance, and even some more relaxed areas if thats what you need at the end of your week!
Terrible place. people wait in line for hours and some are given priority by security. in addition the security is rude and talks nonsense. unless you fix this your business will go down
Would give it 0 star, bad crowd, entitled bartenders, real crappy music, everything is off about the energy of this place. Their DJ’s suck I mean come on. And the people who go there are also iffy
On 4/24/2024, The atmosphere was very intimate and warm. The talent of the drag queens exceeds expectations. The queens were engaging, kind, and energetic. The bar service was fast and pleasant. The DJ also deserves recognition for keeping the crowd engaged!
On a Saturday night, great bar, good music, drinks a bit pricey, but what isnt these days. Loved the decorations and the most beautiful pool table Ive ever seen! Nice crowd too.
Club with good chill vibes combined with dance energy on the stage especially on Friday dj Tk is the best.club all the time decorated very nicely. Bartenders are excellent team and have welcoming , really friendly vibes for everyone!!Super plus for that!! It’s all inclusive club and attracts a lot of nice people of different types, also easy to make friends there and enjoy together drinks, dance and nice talk. Security are nice and really protective the same time.. Drinks are pretty good, and not overpriced.Happy New Year 2025 guys!!✨✨✨✨✨
I recently visited this bar and had a concerning experience with one bouncer in particular who had a distinctive appearance – full-face makeup and blonde hair, which appeared dyed. On my initial visit, she displayed rudeness and an unwelcoming attitude, leading me to assume it might have been an off night. My concerns were confirmed on another visit weeks later when, after asking a simple question about performance times, she maintained a consistently pretentious and rude demeanor. This was disappointing, considering my loyalty as a customer, often spending $70+ on each visit.Furthermore, her suitability for the bouncer role raised questions due to her small stature and quiet presence, which may impact her effectiveness in handling the jobs responsibilities. Its possible that her rudeness is an attempt to compensate for her lack of imposing physical attributes. However, this not only creates a negative atmosphere but also raises safety concerns in a bar full of 6 ft physically active men. Is her presence supposed to make us feel safe? (because, it doesn’t)Despite an otherwise enjoyable experience at the bar, the unwelcoming attitude of this particular bouncer was a significant drawback. Its crucial for the establishment to ensure that all staff, regardless of appearance, maintain professionalism and respect for patrons. I wont be returning.
It was an amazing experience. I recommend visiting this place for the sake of the atmosphere
Its a favorite bar to have fun on the weekends. Its an amazing place to enjoy with friends, the music is great and make new friends. However, beware about pickpockets. I was stolen last September meawhile I was dancing. It should be check room to be safe.
This place is amazing the staff is so friendly. There is a bartender there named Justin, he is like no other person I have ever met, he’s always smiling extremely attentive, and super sweet. He makes my night amazing every time I go. He lights up the place. I don’t know how he does it. What a beautiful person and it’s not just with me he treats everyone as if they were special. Wow and wow thanks for having him on your team
I didn’t actually get to enter since I don’t have physical ID. I wouldn’t recommend this place to travelers who like to leave their passport at the hotel
The door guy was the rudest ive ever experienced. This is a tourist bar. Skip it..
A quiet spot for happy hour. Darren the bartender is great
I was walking up to the bar with my arm around my male friend when the black male bouncer said Not tonight. When you are a young queer person, having that screamed at you, you will take it offensively. I responded by saying oh, hes homophobic. Which is an alright response when someone tells you and your platonic gay friend and cant go inside following a group of 5 white girls. Following me saying the truth, he tried to fight me LOL. While I didnt have a problem with him, its concerning a 50 year old man would feel threatened being called homophobic when denying entrance to gay men who were holding each other from entering what is known to be a gay bar. The bouncer also whined that he was a gay, while that may be true, he has a lot to work through before protecting gay people since his first response is to hit them :) If I could give this place a 0, I would
Michael is the best Batman. He is so friendly, welcoming and attentive. He is also hilarious and makes every single person feel at home and welcomed. He’s the best!
As soon as you go in you feel the heat and nasty armpit smell in this place. Went in on a Saturday around 12 and the bartender rolled his eyes when I was trying to ask for a drink. I got his attention and by the time I was talking to him. He gave me an attitude because I was unsure about which drink to get. Asked what he suggested and said “I suggest you make up your mind” left immediately after. Second time there now No thanks
I cannot believe the bar tender here. I asked for a Tito’s soda and 2 waters for my friends who were intoxicated (prepared to pay for 2 bottled waters) and when he saw my $3 tip on a $14 drink he dumped the waters out! When I asked him why he did that he told me that I didn’t tip enough. I feel so discriminated against as a young gay male. This bartender should be fired. Do not come here. This is sad!
Officially lost count of how many times I’ve been here so I figured it’s time for a review! To keep it simple I love it here and have never felt uncomfortable! I’ve been with friends and even by myself many times. Staff is always friendly and the shows are AMAZING! I usually come on Wednesdays or Sundays specifically to see Kizha! But everyone I’ve seen here is amazing!I’m usually a little hesitant as a straight woman in a gay bar because I don’t want feel out of place but honestly I never have! Just don’t be a sloppy drunk belligerent mess and you’ll be welcomed! lol. Also… TIP THE QUEENS TIP THE BARTENDERS!! The bartenders will give you singles for larger bills so you can spread the love.
The bouncer at the door on 11/23/24 was extremely rude, aggressive, and disruptive, yelling continuously and fighting with multiple groups of customers and constantly causing scenes at the front. I’m not sure how this guy got hired because he literally was screaming at so many people just trying to enter. I’m never coming back here based on his unhinged and emotionally unstable behavior because patrons shouldn’t be made to feel unsafe by angry staff members. Completely different experience here compared to other venues in the area where other bouncers can actually check ID without emotional outbursts, so I’d skip this place especially because the music was tired and overdone.
Was a little hesitant coming here with the negative reviews. We stopped by and it was early, so there were no bouncers at the front. The place was empty besides maybe 2 other groups at the bar. The bartender with the long hair was friendly and attentive.
Industry is a wonderful place with a pleasant atmosphere and a whole vibe. I’ve been here so many times and each time is unique. The drinks are always excellent and leave me wanting more, but with the music, the atmosphere is solid and the service worthy of a 10. Especially Maicon who with his beautiful smile, his incredible politeness and his excellent drinks made me have another unforgettable night in this bar that I love so much. I already knew him on the party circuit and in some bars in Miami and he always provided excellent and cheerful service. I recommend going on the day Maicon is there. You will wonderfully appreciate all the words written here in this review. 😉😉
I’ve gotta be honest that I’m not quite sure what to say here? I guess just be aware that the bouncer may take one look at your real ID and instantly claim it’s fake, and dent entry. I wouldn’t be writing this if I was trying to enter with a fake… Didn’t quite know how to argue with him as he wouldn’t try to scan the ID in question again so our group ended up leaving.
Michael is the best bartender here! Best experience
The bouncer said incredibly misogynistic and racist things to my friend I came with (afro-latina woman.) Things about her being my property and a man is a man when he claims property. Worse, when we complained and it, a man claiming to be the owners son as well as a manager claimed their bouncers would never say something like that and told her to calm down. They didnt believe her or us and acted extremely racist, not taking account for their bouncers actions.
Unfortunately Industry is the latest of a bunch of hells kitchen bars to jack up the prices for everything. Happy hours were some of the most affordable in the area but that has totally changed. It feels stuck in a groove and needs some updating to compete with nearby bars and clubs imo
I was there a couple of times, and the place does deliver good enough fun weekend vibes. I wish the music was less basic, but oh well! Basic delivers!
I love this place! The girl security guard makes this place even better. So polite, cool and professional! All at the same time. Drinks are good. Drag shows are always wow.
I came here with some friends for one of their birthdays and one of the bouncers was so rude even the second one came up to us inside to apologize for his behavior.. it really killed our vibe and the meh music (it was all overplayed 2010s stuff) couldn’t revive it. gay bars in bk are way better.
The bouncers and bartenders need to do a better job of creating a safe environment here. I should be able to go to a bar with friends without having six men touch personal areas without consent. Twice this was in line for the bathroom, so I was unable to walk away after communicating that I was not comfortable with the interaction.
So I got into JFK super late thinking I wouldn’t make it out in time - wrong - this place is open super late. When I arrived I was stunned at the vibe here; everyone was dancing and just having fun til 4AM. Drinks were strong and so many fun and good looking people. The DJ was on fire, just all around good spot! Highly recommended for anyone visiting.
Wow after so Manny years this bar still pumping. Bartenders were great, Marcus, music also was good. Sing your heart out. Coat check still same type of issue but I guess has to be a seasonal thing. Maybe industry needs a face-lift? Specially on stage, dance floor and better access to bathroom.
They closed the bar due to a plumbing issue. That’s totally fine but it was raining and I was in a cast and crutches. They told me I couldn’t come in and that I couldn’t stand under the awning for a minute while I regrouped. They said I “couldn’t block the door” even though they weren’t open. While I was trying to call an Uber the bouncer stuck his head out and said I had to leave, and it was pouring rain. So I had to crutch across the street to Therapy Bar and everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming!
I’ve seen so many bad reviews of this club here and I’ve honestly never witnessed any of this, open-toe heels and ID issues aside, Industry is my favorite gay bar in NYC, I can’t visit NYC without visiting Industry for at least one night, is one of the few bars I’ve visited were people do nothing less than enjoy themselves and dance the night away. The Dj(s) are(is) so good, the drinks and bartenders are great, come on.
Super cozy atmosphere, after a long time I started going there again and I came across great people, the bartenders were super attentive, especially Maicon who knows how to make great drinks, he asked me what I wanted and I told him that I trusted his taste, I was surprised by the drink which was very good
The attention it’s actually good. But management or owner it’s very very rude and unprofessional since I didn’t got any warning about how many times I can stand up with my masc on.I was celebrating my best friend’s marry and we were all kick out for being standing with not even 1 warning. We all felt discriminated. Also feel sad that It won’t be the place that i will take any of my friend around the world.
Great time! Bartender Michael made the night so fun!
Michael was our bartender and he was great guy he introduced us the menu and was really nice to us.
Between the Cue, the Ritz, Barracuda, and Hush industry is definitely the strongest. That being said, they really need to get some new YOUTHFUL Dj’s. The music here is always absolutely awful, never the right vibe for what’s going on, and never songs that people know
This is such a fun lively place to get together with friends! The atmosphere, music, drag performances are 10/10 amazing and pure fun & love 💚💛🧡❤️🩷🩵💙💜
The bartending staff are great however on a Thursday night at 245am when the bar was slow the security person decided after 45 min at the bar that I was not allowed to have my bag on the bar where I was standing and instead in pay for him to check it. I said can I finish my drink and he said remove the bag from the bar. There were not any people hindered because my bag was in front of me at the bar. I paid my bill and left and will NEVER go to Industry again. There are lots of gay bars in midtown where you do not need to put up with this type of poor service. Do not support this bar. Go to Vodka Soda, Boxers, Mickeys, Posh and Therapy.
DO NOT GO TO INDUSTRY! Last night my friend and I were denied re-entry to the bar from the smokers area (after being inside for at least a couple of hours) because one of the security guys thought we were skipping the line. We tried to talk to the guy, show our IDs, explain that we were in (our coats and friends were still inside), but he refused to let us in again because we were being “too smart” with him. We decided not to insist and call our friends (who were still inside) from the sidewalk. He came back and told us we couldn’t be on the sidewalk either. After trying to explain to him that sidewalks are public space he threaten me and harassed me for my accent, telling me I didn’t knew how to behave in this country. After this I decided to just cross the sidewalk, he followed us just to let the security people in the bar next door don’t let us in and kept going calling us names because we had an accent. Good to know that the people they hire in this place to protect LQBTQ community are still xenophobic and violent, you’re doing great honey...
This club is very RACIAL. My friend and I was entering the club, she had on an open toe platform shoe and they refused her entry. I am pretty sure its because were all BROWN. Someone else of different color decent entered right after us with open toe sandals and they got in. This was very unfair. The double standards was unreal.
My friends and I showed up to have a good time , but after my friends ID was not scanning properly at the door, they proceeded to tell her she could not enter. That would have been fine except for her id scanned appropriately at three different bars on the same street. After trying to explain the validity of her obviously valid identification, the staff at the door, particularly the drag queen , were unnecessarily rude. We tried to explain that it was a a malfunction and they continued to engage in name calling and (in my opinion) unprofessional jeering.Just go to Therapy across the street. Much better music and much better staff. Had a blast !!
They dont let people come in with open toe in 100 degree heat. Just inconsiderate. We were with 2 guys and 3 girls, girls all had open toe. The bouncer turned us away and pushed us to the side of the road. Not nice. Its 100 degrees- yea, theyre wearing sandals. Get over it.Not coming back. You shouldnt either.
Went in on a Sunday and it was super fun. The drag show was great. And the host was super funny. It’s a cash only bar but they have an atm on site. Difficult to reach the bathrooms. Overall great experience.
You come here for the boys but dont expect a quality drink and also expect to pay cash. Would love to see them raise the bar here and take credit cards and have drinks that are not all from the nasty fountain. Still a fun place to come dance and see shows but drink first.
I was told great things: but no one talked to me, and no one danced. Nobody made me feel welcome except the awesome guy dancing and lip-syncing in front of the video screen, who also didnt talk to me. Two points, from me, for playing Betty Who.
I dont understand whats the issue with open toe shoes, are you worried about spreading athletes foot, or do tje Rats bite?
Awesome location to hang out with your people. Fun drag shows, music with official videos on the screens, big plus for areas with couches where its possible to talk without screaming. One negative are the guards, who are rude and disrespectful for no reazon at all.
This club is ridiculous, the bouncers are racist and rude. My Asian American friend and I wanted to get back in after smoking outside. We were denied simply because they associated us with another Asian group that got kicked out. We did not only provided valid reasons why we were not assiociated with them, we also told our friend group to pick us up at the entrance as a proof. However, they still believed that we look asian, and we are with the asian group that they kicked out. It is clearly understandable that they have the right to not let people in, however, it is just wrong to not let anyone in with a racial reason, especially when they are putting us in a degrading position.
We have been here a lot after DragRace and everytime we are here, the DJ is always bad. He only plays straight people music like no gays ever dance to. It’s literally becoming another Hair of the Dog trashy straight bar. Sooner or later it might as well become a straight bar that only plays the Shape of You. The only the negative is the music and the DJ needs to be replaced, otherwise, the bartender, the bouncer and the drag show are incredibly amazing!
Wonderful service for a surprise party. Excellent bartenders and servers.
Staff is rude not worth your money. Better spending it somewhere else. Not friendly to tourists. Hyper senesitive staff that spills drinks. Over priced and inconsistent drink charges. Told to artebd this ccommunity bar for $8 drinks charged $10, $14, and $16 drinks not one consistent price. Would suggest exploring Chelsea to reccomend explore Chelsea and find something more welcoming and authentic than this place
So apparently you can enter without presence of your ID (a couple in front of us just show photos on the phone). But you can’t enter with the open toe shoes. On top of everything, after I was denied an entry, bouncers made a remark that “people can just go home and change their shoes”. I overheard and said that not everyone is living in the area. Then another one said “Well you can go to Forever 21 and buy it there”. Please keep in mind that was around 12am… Not okay
My favorite of the dance-y HK bars. On the weekends, everyone usually migrates from Therapy to Industry so it doesnt get packed until later. The music is always fun and the bartenders are quick and friendly. Week nights are fun too!
As usual with gay bars cocktails are rather mediocre and bartenders are rude, Ive gone often but wont go ever again. The bouncers ended the Night by yelling homophobic slurs at patrons. This is a sodding gay bar and I get yes this is a gay bar, thats how I know youre a c***s*cker from their staff?
I was there yesterday, came outside waiting for my friend to come out too (he was one of the performers) the bouncer kept looking at me, after 20 mins me waiting outside he started to insult me saying “you have been outside over an hour now, stand across the street and get your life together” meanwhile I was literally just waiting next to the club, ain’t even at their front door or blocking anyone. And he kept coming at me until I was out of his vision. I was very confused and offended. And this is not worthy of my time.
Air conditioning was too cold, drag show was late and lame, cosmos were awful, and our IDs where photographed when going in. The guy refused to erase the pictures when we left. Good for data protection... Wont go there again!
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. happy hour drinks are a bargain and that makes it a great place to start your evening. Music is mostly vocal house / pop / britney with a tribal beat. Basically the same as every other gay bar in HK. meh!
This bar was a good time!!! I had a blast! Marcos was very nice and made great drinks!!! I’d definitely go back!
Drunk bartender sprayed me across the face with the drink dispenser while I was paying for my drink while exclaiming Omg Im so drunk. It doesnt get any more unprofessional than this.
Lots of fun, fast service and friendly bartenders. RuPaul nights are fun! Come here if you want to dance. It can get incredibly crowded.
Good bar with uniqe shows and fair price for drinks
Great Bartenders and loved the drag show show.
Im from NYC. I’ve been here before and always had a great time but seems like a new bouncer has been hired? Dude is mad rude kicked us out for NO reason. Maybe he’s homophobic and likes doing this for fun cause my friends have complained for the same reason.
This place has a problem with stealing. I went here on Friday 3/4/2022 and me and 2 other peoples phones were stollen along with multiple jackets. My friend also went here a few months ago and her wallet and phone were taken right out of her fanny pack.
Twice, Ive set a drink down on a table and when I turn around, one of the workers has taken the drink and disappeared. I dont know if its a ploy to get people to buy more drinks or what. But its extremely annoying and makes me hesitant to buy more drinks here. Quite a bad business practice....!
Terrible place. The service is awful, the bouncers are extremely and unnecessarily rude, and the smell in there is bad. For some reason it is Cash Only, which it’s strange (and annoying) for a place that big in Hell’s Kitchen
01/20/2023, Security guard was extremely rude , and saying my ID was fake ? Then I went to other two clubs my ID was fine.
Be aware, I went there a week ago, and I got covid. I’m fully vaccinated but I still lost the smell sense. Please get your vaccine!
I like this place but it became very unsafe lately. A lot of robbery and pick pockets. Wasn’t like this years ago.
Stay away if you can.
Door discrimination at a birthday party for sober people appropriately dressed.
Dont go on Saturday. Terrible attitude from bartenders, the security harassing you and all the time yell at people inside . Cant move there . Theres much!! Better places around
Not a great place and paid for a corona $9! Ohh, and they don’t accept any type of card. They encourage you to use their atm machine.
Paid $10 to get in and they didn’t even have AC. I lasted about 5 minutes before feeling like I was literally going to die. Has to be illegal.
This is the worst place ever. They were extremely ignorant to the COVID.19 protocols put into place by the city. They also assaulted some of my friends for DOING NOTHING. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BAR.
I usually go there and i like itBut i we t yesterday and i asked for 3 drink one of them was cranberry vodkaIt tasted like water literallyI asked the bartender to exchange it because it tasted like water “ i think the cranberry juice that they have was bad “ he made it again “ with a nasty attitude “And it was the same maybe worst !So i went right back to him and i told him it’s bad it tastes like water there’s no cranberry juice taste at allHe wanted to fight with me and he gave me a nasty attitudeAt the end after like 5 minuets arguing the manager told him to remake my drink and i asked to be vodka redbull which was a bit betterBut really the worst experience ever at that place and bad bartender!
Bartenders are SUPER rude, don’t even wait for you to pay and tip before they get mad if they think you won’t tip and say rude comments. Music is meh.
With a few in you and a Friday or Saturday night open, this can be a fun spot to dance the night away with more elbow room than the nearby Ritz. Cash only.
Absolutely atrocious experience. The security guard at the door had my legitimate identification but refused to acknowledge it as real and went out of his way to humiliate me in front of all my friends. As a brown immigrant gay man, no bar has ever treated me as poorly as Industry did tonight.
Great DJ and drag show!!! Love this place! Will definitely come visit again when in town
Great music and up to date with it. Nice drinks and a great place to enjoy music. A mix crowd which is always nice.
The people working here are the worst kind of people there is. Awfully rude and disrespectful! Jerking you around and calling security for no reason! I will NEVER come back here, and I will let every single person I know not to come EVER AGAIN!!!
The bouncers are so rude ..I was on vacation , they didnt want to take my passport . That was mean !I was so mad but anyway , they asked me for another ID and I showed them my state ID and they kicked me off after that :(
Unfortunately this place is no longer a safe space for me… I’ve been going here for 9 years since I moved to the US . It was my favorite bar for years and always a place of joy during my tough times. They suddenly banned me from the bar unprovoked and I don’t understand why? The bouncers kicked me out rudely and told me I’m not allowed there. I always tipped the bartenders I always tipped the performers… I was never rude to anyone.. I made a lot of friends there. Just heartbroken and don’t understand why I’m discriminated against. Anyways.. thanks for the good times Industry, I’ll miss you.
The coke or Diet Coke tastes burnt. How does that even happen? And why am I paying so much for that? The more I drink the drink, the worse it gets. And I’m only finishing the drink because it costs so much
Good music good crowd and even when its packed you can still get to the bathroom and bar with some ease
Visiting from Australia I decided on this bar for a Saturday dance recently. Was a most enjoyable night with a drag show then some great tunes to dance the night away. Felt very safe and the bar staff were great if you tip folks! It’s New York the bar staff don’t get paid much so tip and I got great service. Please and thank you also helps. It was my own fault I guess but I was pick pocketed and my wallet taken. I went strait to security and they were great. They took me back to the location where it happened and someone turned in my wallet which was a blessing. I was very lucky to get it back. I learnt a valuable lesson!Otherwise it was a fun night and I’d go again.
Iconic place, always great to be back! 🤩

The worse experience of my life.. I went with a friend and put my bag over a chair, after 15 minutes it disappeared. Someone stole my bag and I tried to talk with the manager to see the camera of the entrance and they denied. Even I asked the bartender who laughed on my face saying it’s no our fault. They need to be empathetic at least if someone stole a costumer in their bar !!!
An enjoyable experience first time in New York, bartender was on it!!
Ambience and environment are great. Drinks are way too expensive. Overall, its ok.
There isn’t a lot of space to dance. Music is just more of the same.
My favorite gay dance club in nyc. Great music. Cute guys
I saw a lot of bad clments here. Definitely.this is.not a good.place for a gay visit. Very decepcioned with.this place :-(
Security at the door needs to chill and learn how to treat people respectfully.
Great bar to hang out and be social. some dance time but most lounge atmosphere
I was denied because my toes were showing. Apparently that’s not allowed anymore, my bad.
Horrid experience in matter of 2 minutes. Myself and 3 friends walked in and asked for 4 tequila shots and said Hornitos Blanco would be fine as I pointed to it on the display. The bartender charged my card FIRST for $56 then turned around and maybe poured some tequila in his tins but shook whatever else was in there and poured us our shots. All four of us are bartenders. He didnt have his back to us even remotely long enough to pour the standard ounce per shot. He turned back and laid out 4 glasses, filled them but didnt pour out everything in the tin as he flipped it and set it back on the top of the cooler instead of maybe tossing out out the ice and rinsing etc etc. We knocked back what definitely wasnt tequila, left a cash tip, complained to ourselves about the funky aftertaste and walked across the street for a real pour of Casa that we made sure to monitor.Gross. Stay away.
Dont waste your time security seems to have self esteem issues n ego problems go in front to therapy you wont regret it !!
Idk why there are so many negative comments, ive been coming here the past few years, every friday night and saterday night, i know the vibes, theres space to stand with tables, places to sit with friends, the music is the only thing that varies, sometimes bad mostly good, great mixture of non judgment and judgmental people as standard at any gay bar, the bartenders arent the most talkative, which may come off as rude, but they easily deal with 300+ people on a standard weekend night, they need to make your drink and everyone elses. Shout out to the bouncer, you know who you are C, fun guy if you actually take the time to say hello to the people serving for you and making your night safe fun. Also shout out to the white blond woman who sometimes bounces at the bathroom, your rock also. Last thing ill say, the pours, if you go there regularly, find 1 bartender to serve you, and always leave an excelent tip atleast your first time, and they will sometimes remember you, ive seen people get 12 count pours, sometjmes and usualy when i get them they can 16 counts, and about $16, id say well worth it. Its not perfect, but i dont in anyway blame it on tbe staff
The bouncers here are sexist and so is the management, they try to give excuses to not let women inside.
Cash only. Large space, 20-mid 30 crowd, top 40 music, good for dancing and drinking
One of my FAV Gay Bars in NY, I dont understand how the rate here is pretty low.Lovely Drag shows, good music, nice crowd. Love it😍
This is a great bar , and the staff is amazing . That Mayur guy reviewer seems to just post negative reviews about a lot of places. Lol. Get a life ! LolThe bartender he mentioned is actually one of the nicest and friendliest bartenders , and the rest of the staff are great. Come on Fridays it’s the best night I think.
One of the Drags doing the show last night- Egypt. Asked us for money while doing her first performance and since we didn’t have cash, we couldn’t give her any at that moment. Then she asked us if we are Latinos and proceeded on calling us “cheap”. I was shocked. On her second performance she came close to us and even hit my partner on purpose on several time with her costume. It was a very awkward and uncomfortable situation.
They have drag shows on a Tuesday night.
Bartenders , securities and of course Mitch Ferrino dj are amazing ❤️🔥🔥🔥
Ugh. Packed, packed, and more packed. Industry has some fun drag shows throughout the week (LOVE Queen on Thursdays!) but this place gets so packed with younger straight people on the weekends that I just want to leave. Shoutout to Matthew at the bar, hes awesome!
There’s a black bouncer that assume everyone drunkAnd he turns anyone awayDon’t go.Especially if that guy is still thereYou should go to riseThat guy assume everyone is drunk
Just girls screaming with the young gay friends and a horrible straight DJ. Music is terrible
The bouncer took an item from my purse & said I can have it back when I leave & I was fine with it & as I left I just asked for it back but he then just started accusing me of calling him ta slur really loud in front of every one on line to shut me up.
The place is okay but I didn’t get the vibe. The music is really not okay. I was expecting higher than that.
Good place to go on Saturday night. Dont try before midnight
Omg ppl here it’s so rude. I can’t believe the way they treat the customers.
The security were some of the rudest people i’ve ever met. kicked my boyfriend and i out because he was standing on platform that he didn’t know was a speaker. they forcefully dragged him out as he was apologizing and explaining that he didn’t know that he did anything wrong. the bouncers didn’t budge or show any signs of humanity or forgiveness. like girl it’s not like he was messy or hurting anyone. never going back. the music and vibes sucked anyway so it’s okay :)
One of the best drag queen shows in the city ! i have been coming here over and over again! friendly staff and reasonable prices !
I’ve been to industry numerous times and went last night on Sat, Feb 25th. The bouncers were extremely rude and accused me of having a fake ID because it wouldn’t scan. I’ve never had an issue getting into Industry, Hush, or any bars in the area. When I politely asked if there was some kind of mistake he then got extremely aggressive and started screaming at me to “GTFO”. I was then asked to leave.Afterwards my friends came out when they realized I couldn’t get it. They again politely tried to ask the bouncer what the issue was, and he started screaming at them to “mind their business (in a very profane way)”.When we started walking away the bouncer then followed us and continued to scream, causing a massive scene (everyone in the area was staring at him) while the line continued to build up. He spent 10 minutes arguing with us before we finally just walked away. We just walked an explanation. This bouncer was the rudest and most aggressive person I’ve dealt with in the last decade. I have no idea how he even got the gig. He was embarrassing the establishment with the way he was acting. Will never go back. And judging on the most recent reviews here, it seems this bouncer is causing a lot of issues.
Essentially, every bad thing youve read in the other reviews is 100% true.
Interesting bar, drinks were pretty strong. Would come back to give it another shot.
Ok here is the deal - I believe in Industry and I’m always optimistic to have a good experience. In fact I’m still giving them a 5 star as I want them to succeed. I’m a native of NYC for over 20 years but I don’t live in Hell’s Kitchen. Industry has a great space. One of the best in Hell’s Kitchen. So I arrive tonight on a Tuesday mind you, they check my ID, fine…I’m mid40s queen…they ask to check my backpack…fine..no guns, just my overnight backpack as I’m attending Holiday parts In the city and have a hotel reservation (I’m live upstate now- yay me). They see a water bottle in my bag and make me dump it out. This is a Tuesday night. There are 5 people in the bar…total. I’m thinking they are searching me for a gun…fine. But my water bottle. It’s a backpack. I’m here to buy drinks. You are not loosing money. So I made the bar tender refill it as soon as I walked in with water. I may need a sip in the middle of the night and not drinking hotel water.I order a drink and the bar tender immediately presents me with a mobile credit card machine. I said “no it’s ok I want to keep it open for a few drinks and then I will pay” he said no you have to pay each time.So this is where we are in society. Can’t I just go to a bar and sit at the bar and have a few drinks(at an empty bar) and just relax. In understand these are minor infractions, but we just want to go places and feel at home. These little things add up in our hectic days. Industry..you can be major if you want to be.
Rude staff, the lady at the door was very unwelcoming and rude, omg I don’t recommend it at all
Good gay bar to hang out and have some social great time.
If you are in NYC and truly want to experience a Great time…with the best Queens ever…hit up Industry🌈⭐️
Mean lady working here came up to me and SCREEEEAMED at me for vaping?? I wasn’t even vaping literally. Yelled at me for “putting it in my bag”?? Literally had nothing of the sort on me. Felt assaulted. Boo
Bartenders here are just a joke. The short guy with no shirt on will cry like a little girl because you won’t leave the tip on the credit card and when he made the drink and I didn’t tip he didn’t give me a chance to take the drink he just throw it away and was being SUPER RUDE ..No one told them that people will tip if you do a good job not if you will be rude, disrespectful dude who can’t do nothing better as just pouring the drinks. Don’t go there, matter of fact do let that short guy serve you drinks!! Very disrespectful!! And then I asked for a refund and the other tall guy said I should ask whoever serve me lol what a joke will never go back!
Hush has better music across the street.
Amazing place, love that you need to be fully vaccinated to get in! Bouncers deserve another 5 stars 🌟 my favorite place in town. Drinks on point and everyone was dancing until morning.
Love the atmosphere. Will certainly come again on my next visit.
Tiny bathrooms line up goes into dance floor
Cash only but not bad. Great specials.
Went last night for the first time; immediately you’re met with Jessie, the doorman, who was extremely friendly. The inside is fairly spacious, decor is decent, bathrooms are clean, entertainment is good specifically the drag shows. All the staff in general are great workers. My only complaints would be that there wasn’t any food for purchase, at the time at least, other than the hotdog you’re served ($5) due to NY law needing alcohol to be served with food. And lastly the drink selection wasn’t as diverse in terms of beers. Hoping they add ales/ciders. However mixed drinks were really good! If you get the margarita you might want to let it dilute for a second. The cosmopolitan was very smooth, highly recommend. Oh & there’s a two drink minimum, but I mean.. if you’re going to a bar to buy just one drink, well idk maybe you’re just at the wrong place?
The bar and the atmosphere are very nice but the dj is horrible! He doesn’t play any song that we ask for and he also doesn’t play any gay song. It looks like I am in a straight bar, which is a shame. I think you should hire a new one.
They cant fix their AC.
Best dragshow Ive ever seen! Very friendly ambiance
I liked this place! Great crowd, friendly staff and good music.
Cool place, gets a little crowded. In a safe neighborhood. Offers coat check. Cash only, but has an ATM. Fairly clean, gender neutral bathroom (one big bathroom, no separate facilities). Bar tenders were nice.
Well, if you want to see beautiful, open and well dressed people, and taste extra-class strong cocktails - this might be the only place for you.Music - pop 2000-2019, quite funny but the atmosphere is great.Yes only cash(
Love the shows. And the bartenders are great
The female DJ on Saturday nights isn’t really a Saturday night vibe DJ. She plays 80’s music.... and dare I say it... the WHOLE song! It kills the vibe big time! Their Friday night DJ is a lot more upbeat and keeps the vibe going! Wish they had the same DJ for Saturday night as well. Unfortunately if I happen to go out on Saturdays, I wind up going to Rise.
Very basic not fun gay bar. A waste of time!
2 for one drinks. The bartenders are great. The atmosphere & energy is amazing. Good variety of music mixed with music videos. LOVE THIS PLACE!
The Help is Back @Industry BEST SHOW in town with Pixie and Keisha. Wednesday Night! we had the best time ever! Safe welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ POCs
Everyone was very friendly, I had a great time
Dont go here. There is plenty of other better places in the area where you could spend your money. If you decide to go this place, good luck - youll be disappointed.
This is the no-frills dance spot for gay guys in Hells Kitchen. Always a fun time if youve had a couple of drinks and you want to dance. Can get very crowded. If youre bringing a girl friend with you, make sure shes wearing closed-toe shoes so they dont deny her entry.
This bar is nothing but sexiest, when I asked why can’t a female be led in they said “it’s a gay bar get off the line”, nothing but rudeness from the bouncer. It’s sad that a Gay club wouldn’t be open to letting a female in. I thought our community was supposed to be open to everyone, but clearly this bar doesn’t feel the same way. I definitely would not recommend this bar to anyone.
I had more fun here than any club Ive been to in a long time.
I am not fully vaxxed and neither is my gf, bouncer denied us entry even though we were just there last weekend without any problems. We showed him our vax cards, IDs, and he explained that we needed two vaccines and told us it said it on their door. Nowhere on that door did it say anything about having two vaccines in order to enter. Honestly, we felt like he wouldn’t let us in cause we’re women. Again, nowhere on the door or even on their website does it say we need to be fully vaccinated. We let him know we were just there last weekend and all he said was “well now I’M here and I’M telling you you can’t come in without two doses. It says it right there” and pointed at the sign on the door which said no such thing. Felt extremely discriminated against.
The place is always good in terms of guys and the environment is great and wild, but the drinks Are ridiculously expensive and suck. I went for Labor Day weekend and they charged me $13 for a tinny drink that literally only had orange juice and not a single drop of alcohol!!!!! No joke! Thats not right... So whenever you go, make sure the bartenders are doing their job and not ROBBING you.
The DJ had the nerve to say he refuses to play Bad Bunny. The biggest artist in the world, headliner of Coachella. Should I call it the world starting with R…????
It was my friends birthday and they let so many people go into the club before my group. It made us feel really unseen and ruined the birthday experience, sitting at the front of the line for like an hr. So disappointed.
Dot go there, security guys arent extremity aggressive and rude!
The bouncers were so incredibly rude. They both screamed at us and accused me of having the wrong ID. Even showed him verification. We left because they started screaming at my friends and me.
CASH only. There is an ATM inside. Sunday night drag show is fabulously fun! Good dance music the rest of the weekend. Always enjoy going there.
Very fun bar to go to. Both the employees and crowd are very nice and laid back . My favorite gay bar in the city
This place charges $5 dollars for a water bottle!!!! What is in the water??? Gold??? What the hell...
Went twice never get the inside, the secure at the door is just the worse thing about ever saw ever.,... I DO NOT RECOMMEND, THE THE SECURITY COMPANY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR EMPLOYEES.... REALLY BAD. 2 TIMES, my friends and I( my friends love was inside they come out Andrew went spend our money another place else l, because of the security.
The bouncer denied my friend access for no reason and when we asked why he said “because I want to” and then asked my friend, who is Indian, if he was “able to speak English” or if he needed to “try another language.” When we asked to speak to someone he claimed his name was Jeff and that he was the assistant manager, didn’t really seem qualified for either of those positions. Racist and ruining people’s nights just for fun. Disgusting.
The bouncer, Jordan, was extremely rude and unprofessional.
This is first time I experience racism in the USA. They selectively picked a specific race not to let in. Next time you get denied entry pay attention to the people they select to let in. Thanks for ruining my first night out in NYC!
The bouncer is rude and arrogant. Management should reconsider who they hire because he is costing them a pretty penny according to my experience and others who have left reviews. Unfortunately I will not be returning.
Great bar. Among NYC’s finest .
Great music, nice vibes, friendly people :-) had a lot of fun!
Had a blast. Great drink specials. Long island is great value. Music is popping.
I was unfairly denied access to this place after being fully vaxxed. I had card, ID, and everything. If they wanna close then let them close
Probably one of the worst bars Ive been to in hells kitchen. I would recommend going to vodka soda or hardware first. theyre have the same music but they dont have the same rules about card only (with only two ATM machines in the whole bar). go only is youre at the very end of your night.
Does not accept credit cards. Dont even bother to come here.
We work here at hells kitchen and I cannot believe how rude we were treated. We came here with a party of 4 and while we were waiting for the rest of our party to have their IDs checked, the bouncer screamed at us because we were waiting for the rest of our small party and were told to get out. We felt discriminated because of our gender and Latin race. My friends came from overseas and while his passport was being checked we were just standing next to him waiting and we were yelled at for not moving. This is the worst customer service ever and it was abusive and we were bullied to leave. Cannot believe that in a city like new York we were treated like this.
This security guy was very disrespectful. He said it wasn’t me on me passport picture. While I had all my stuff in the coat check cuz I just left for a cigarette. Now, he was using a sunglasses as we were in a night time. And he got mad cuz I asked him to take the sunglasses out so he could see it better. Isn’t it part of his job to see it clear? I lost my night because his ego was all over the place and wanted me to kiss it.
Great happy hour. Casual bar
We went here on a Thursday to watch RuPauls All Stars and had lots of fun. It wasnt too crowded, but it wasnt empty. The drag queen entertaining, Miz Cracker, was hospitable, funny and a bit original. They also had happy hour with 2 for 1 on drinks before 9pm. All in all, a fun night!
The bouncers were very rude and did not believe my friends I.D. was real. We had to call the police in order to get his identification back. There are plenty of other decent bars to go to in New York City. I would not bother going here.
I went on pride this year and it was ok. The dj was repeating and extending the songs too much, it got really annoying when you thought there was a new song coming up, it just repeated the last chorus. Also, I saw one woman bar tender using used dirty glasses brought by another bartender to serve new drinks. That made me not take any drink served on glass, it’s anti hygienic. Overall, you can go and dance for a while but there are better places nearby.
Beware of this place! THE MANAGER IS CRAZY and the security guys dont respect the custumers. Many gay bars better to go in NYC.
Mix Crowd of all kinds of Gay if your visiting our great city and want to see some of Hell’s Kitchen Gays check it out
Had a great time enjoying the loud music and dancing...fun place.
A good go-to place for a group of friends to enjoy some drinks at a decent price. Happy hour is especially enjoyable.
If you were born in the 60’s or 70’s you might like the bar, alternating with 1 2000 song and 3 very old Nolstagic. Not very much of a Saturday night vibe.Came back another night and same thing80% of songs from 80’s and 70’s
Hot bartenders. Hot guys. I’m all in.
Good dancing music on Saturdays. Top 40s etc. drinks are alright but overpriced. The bouncers were nice enough I guess. They shoo you around inside to keep the area clear which is annoying.
Sometimes when your husband leaves you, Industry is there to keep you company!
Fun place to go for a drink in Hells kitchen. Drag show and fun atmosphere.
