Osamil is a lively spot that’s perfect for a night out with friends. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, making it an enjoyable place to share good food and drinks. A couple of dishes really stood out during my visit: the seafood tteokbokki and the squid fries. The seafood tteokbokki took the traditional dish to another level with its creamy, flavorful broth. It was rich, comforting, and so delicious that it was hard to put the spoon down. The squid fries were also a highlight—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and paired with flavorful dipping sauces that complemented them perfectly.I’ve heard great things about the upstairs bar, but unfortunately, I didn’t have a reservation this time. I’ll definitely plan ahead to check it out on my next visit.Overall, Osamil offers a fun vibe and some memorable dishes, and I’m looking forward to exploring more of what they have to offer.
Place is a 5/5 no questions. We were walk-ins on a Monday 7pm and it was busy! Got the last seats by the counter - which was great. Be mindful that the food is spicy! The fried sweet potatoes were a must for me to balance the flavor. Skewers were super flavorful (pork belly for the win), the tartare was different (don’t go for it if you’re expecting the french kind, but for us was worth trying).
First time here and it’s was immaculate. My friend usually makes a reservation and she didn’t this time. I got here at 5:30 pm and it was packed because we couldn’t get a table. I got a tall table and it was starting to get busy as the night went by. We got happy hour drinks. We got the whole chicken, the rice cake with mussels and a salad octopus dish. It was soooooo yummy and they had a speakeasy. It’s wonderful. I’ll do it again. Next time reservation is necessary for sure.
Came here on Thursday night for their signature drinks. We were seated on the 2nd floor which the bar located, the hallway and stairs to 2nd floor is not easy to find. The overall experience is great, that bar area looks old fashioned and well decorated. We tried white wine and spicy OE 25. It’s not bad.We may come back for dinner in the ground floor restaurant.
Absolutely delicious!! One of my top places in NYC so far for late night food. We went with a reservation and I think thats a good thing because the place was PACKED. It was pretty loud but we didnt have to raise our voices too much to have a conversation. Reasonable prices when youre sharing a lot of dishes with a group of friends (~$30 without alcohol). 10/10 would come back!!!
Osamil is a must-visit! Our go tos: pork shank, kimchi fried rice w/ steak, and fried chicken. Also, their fries are 🔥🔥🔥. They have pretty cozy atmosphere, and each bite feels like your favorite home-cooked meal. Don’t for get to pair it with some nice soju based cocktails 😉
This is one of my favorite spots in the city! I always want to come back!**1. Food:**- Amazing!- Kimchi rice, spicy rice cake, salad, sea urchin rice, clam soup, and more! I cant even count all my favorite dishes!- However, the portions are very small.**2. Price:**- Considering New York prices, its not that outrageous.**3. Atmosphere:**- I want to sit at the bar table someday!- The place is modern but somewhat cramped.- It can be very noisy due to the loud music.**4. Service:**- Fair and prompt.**5. Overall:**- Great!- The food is amazing, but the portions are small.- I always recommend this place to others.
Nice atmosphere and food is goodBut it takes more longer to get your drinksBartenders seems are busy always been I mean I don’t mind that my drinks service later but hospitality that’s what I mention here at least I didn’t sense that .
Exceeds expectations. Katie was a great help (or we would have tremendously over ordered). Squid fries and Gamba (that bread) are both must tries. Pancake wasnt as much of a hit, however the whole fried chicken certainly was. Drinks were also excellent. Bring friends....
Really nice spot! We walked in without a reservation at 5 and were sat easily. We loved the squid fries paired with the miso/wasabi/mayo sauce! So good. The drinks and rest of the food were very good, as well. Would recommend.
Perfect for big groups for a delicious n fun night out! so much on the menu i still want to try. we loved all the large entrees that we ordered.
Visited on a Saturday night and the line wrapped around the building however it moved pretty quickly. There is a lounge/club on the second floor and the rooftop is great for date night or just relaxing with friends.
Came here for a birthday and had a wonderful time. Service and staff were top notch, my waiter provided great recs. Restaurant ambience is lovely. Food and drink 5 stars. You can bring your own dessert and candle and they will light it / bring it out for you. There might be a fee to actually eat the dessert, but I wasn’t clear on this and forgot to keep my receipt. I did create a reservation but not necessary for a Thursday before 7pm (got 60% full). You can eat for 1 hour and 45 minutes but since it wasn’t completely packed, it doesn’t seem like they would have kicked us out. They have happy hour from M-Th 5-7PM (drinks are $14 instead of $18). I’d recommend the Oaxacan in the Desert!
Excellent food. Service is okay. Very popular place
Awesome ambience, dim mood lighting at the bar with knowledgeable and fun bartending staff preparing beautiful drinks directly in front of you. We ordered the Seoul Mate and Osamil Cocktail and both were delicious - one was strawberry and the other grapefruit. Their wings appetizer was also delicious and a good serving size for two people to share over drinks.
Loved the vibe, good food, great drinks. They have a variety of soju as well and dont charge crazy prices which surprised me. Lets just say Im going again this week lol... Unfortunately I couldnt take pictures of the food, I was to busy eating it. Will update it with some food pics next time I go.Update: added pics of the sweet potatoe fries which were insanely good, a delicious cocktail called NA-Bee which I would recommend to anyone and my favorite NY Sour. I also ordered the bone marrow which was a let down to be honest. I barely got a spoon worth of it for $20. I had a really good time so didnt really made a fuzz out of it.Update: Went about a year later after posting my original review. There was no room on the first floor and was told I could check out the bar on the second floor which I didnt even know existed. The second floor had a different ambience which was nice in its own way but the drinks were different and I couldnt order a NY sour because they had no wine? No wine at a bar, thats new. The service was also lackluster compared to the downstairs bar.
I was looking forward to trying the interesting dishes at Osamil. We ordered a lot of food and ended up absolutely stuffed. Overall I didnt love any of the dishes I had here, but its also just not in my taste palette. The pork shank is massive. It was not super tender and had a pretty porky flavor. Overall I didnt love this but it was fine and came with a lot of veggie sides. The rose seafood ddukbokki was very creamy with (maybe too soft) rice cakes. The shrimp was plump and tender and the squid was good. The mussels were tasty as well. Overall I dont tend to love creamy things but the seafood in this dish was good. The jjukkumi (baby octopus) was not my favorite preparation of jjukkumi. The sauce was pretty sweet and there was a lot of filler that was just hard cabbage. There was a crispy onion thing that was pretty good.I wanted to like the clam tang more than I did. It didnt feel super fresh/clean. There were a lot of clams of different sizes and I think they were a tiny bit overcooked and chewy. The broth was pretty tasty though a bit murky. It was nice to have a soup to balance the other dishes we got.We also got a couple of drinks. The presentation of Cloud 9 was totally unexpected. The drink itself was pretty strong but otherwise unremarkable.Overall it was interesting to see the interesting twists they put on Korean dishes. The restaurant was bustling on a Friday evening with closely packed tables and had good vibes overall. The food just wasnt quite my cup of tea.
We were sat at the bar, pretty close to the door, which I would encourage you to avoid as patrons coming in kept bumping into us while they waited for a seat.We ordered quite a few things off the menu with the bartender - a few apps & a couple mains to split amongst three people, and some reason they fired all the dishes at once, which meant we were bombarded with a ton of plates of food at one time with very little space on the bar to hold them. We asked the bartender to hold the rest of our dishes, including a whole chicken, until we could make room. He acknowledged the mistake but we were still told no.That’s all to say - the food was very good and the hype seems to be real, but by the time we were able to eat our apps and make room for our mains, everything had gotten cold, the chicken was room temp & uni rice dish had congealed. Flavors were there but overall a frustrating experience.
Had a great experiment here. The space is small for this restaurant in Ktown, but the tables in the back are nice.Food - the food was incredible. We ordered several things and they were all great. Starting off with the big chicken. Id recommend you order something big to share like the pork loin (more tender) or the fried chicken. The chicken had good sauce (although Id argue needs more sauce). Overall the chicken was my least favorite because most of it was great but the top part of the breast was dry.We also got fried kimchi rice with steak. The steak was so tender and perfectly done. We ordered some seafood rice cake in creamy sauce and it was incredible. Perfect fusion food of authentic rice cake noodles mixed with more western creamy sauce. We also got a pork that was wrapped in turnips. That was good as well.Overall food was amazing except for the dry chicken breasts. The price was high for the quantity. Drinks were ok. We got some sake and it was sweet but not too sweet.Atmosphere - pretty cramped but thats also NYC for you. Bathrooms are clean. Service is good. Our server even cut up our chicken for us when she saw us struggling.
Everything at @osamilnyc was super delicious! We booked for 5pm but the restaurant filled up pretty fast. These were definitely too much for 2 people - either just the soup + an appetizer, or 3 small plates would have been plenty of food. I have to go back to try their pretty drinks and other good eats!
My husband and I come here and it’s absolutely incredible! From the food, to the drinks, and the service! We’ve been here multiple times and it NEVER fails, they always us in even if it’s 11PM at night the manager always get us in!
I recommend getting at least a group of four for most of the menu. If alone, stick to side dishes. I really liked the sweet potato fries (moist on the inside, crisp on the outside), the fried chicken (lol the same), the fried rice (perfect medium rare steak), the jeon (stuffed well and stretchy but not doughy), and the gambas (Spanish fusion elevated by Korean heat). I also highly highly recommend the cocktails. All of them are gorgeous and balanced. Start with the NA-Bee if you want to start somewhere.
Cute little place for big flavor hits.Knew their pork shank for ages and finally came to try with a friend. Ordered the Seafood rose rice cake and also the pork shank.Portions are very big for two gals and we didn’t finish, but it doesn’t mean that the flavors weren’t there. The seafood rose rice cake contain a subtle bit of rose flavor, yet the sauce is creamy and cheesy. There are a ton of mussel and squid and rice cakes, topped with fried scallions(or green onions) with shreds of cheese - what more can you ask.The pork shank is huuuuuuge. It is cooked to tender and the pork skin is full of collagen and it is jiggly on the bone. I absolutely loved the meat by the bone - with some portions of lean and some portions of fat and collagen. With one bite, you have the whole package. The sauce is a bit on the saltier side, but it comes with lettuces, and a ton of pickled small dishes to save me from feeling greasy. The drink is also yummy. Didn’t try their signature cocktail but tried their mocktail Good Drank. Refreshing to pair with all the creamy seafood rice cakes and indulgent pork shank. The seatings for 2 are pretty tight with other seatings. I say it is great for dates (if you don’t mind rubbing elbows with your neighbors). Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Left with great impression and didn’t disappoint for their pork shank.
Osamil holds a special place in my heart as my absolute favorite Korean restaurant in NYC! From the moment you step inside, youre greeted with a vibrant atmosphere and the irresistible aroma of Korean cuisine. The Seafood Rosé Tokbokki is an absolute standout dish, blending perfectly cooked seafood with a creamy rosé sauce and chewy rice cakes. And lets not forget about the Korean Market Fried Chicken - crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, its a must-order item thats perfect for sharing among friends (it feeds four people!).But what truly sets Osamil apart is its impressive selection of cocktails. Each drink is not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making them perfect for snapping Instagram-worthy photos. And of course, no visit to Osamil is complete without indulging in somaek - the classic combination of Korean beer and soju. Ask for the Korean beer and a bottle of soju to make the iconic somaek, which perfectly complements the bold flavors of the dishes. The staff at Osamil are always friendly and attentive, ensuring that every visit is a memorable culinary experience. Whether youre a Korean food enthusiast or just looking for a delicious meal and drinks in the heart of NYC, Osamil is the place to be. Trust me, you wont be disappointed!
Great experience this place is jampack even monday food is good bartender is nice..
Osamil is a very nice place for dinner. uni bibimbap was delicious and mixed very well. beef tartare was also very yummy with strong taste of gochujang. skewers were good. beef rib was tougher than expected but the pork belly was so soft and the sauce was amazing.
Came here on a Tuesday night after visiting the empire state building which is close by. No prior reservation, but it was around a 10 minute wait for 2 people after 9pm (which was great! 🤪)Table was a bit small and super cosy (small gaps between tables). Lovely atmosphere when we arrived it was buzzing 🤩Cool and cosy interior design, with Great looking bar 👍😎 and cabinets with drinks. Atmosphere was buzzing! They forgot to bring us a drink menu, only food one but gave us one when we asked. But overall service was good. It was hard for them to fit everything on our table.Order:1. Beef tartare - boyfriend enjoyed this more, bit sweet for my liking. But the beef was really tender, and cute presentation.2. Uni bibimbap - light, earthy, sea flavour. Not your traditional bibimbap in terms of taste but really interesting and we enjoyed it! I dont think Id be able to find this in London, UK.3. Pork shank - expected more traditional jokbal like what I had in Korea before but this is not what it is. It was still really good - the pork was so tender, juicy and fell of the bone. WOW. Never tried pork like this before. Sweet, and dressed with mustard. I liked the pickles it came with, would have had more! ******Please note it was humongous and way too much for 2 as its quite heavy 🤣🤣🤣. It would feed a family of 4 at least...4. Makgeoli - rice wine - pre bought and they pour into a cute bottle 🍾5. Took leftover pork shank away with a box provided as there was too much 😅If I was a local, Id come back again for sure! 👏👏
If there were 10 stars, I would have to give them all to this restaurant! The food, service, and atmosphere were all superb! There was not one thing that was not made to perfection. This is one of the best Korean restaurants we have been to.You definitely have to have baby octopus, fried chicken, pork shank, and kimchi fried rice.
Overall I had a good experience. The food was definitely the highlight of the night. The cocktails were a bit bland. Where this place lacked in my opinion was the service. There are 4 high top tables in the bar area. This is where I sat, there were 3 bartenders working the area and I felt the tables were being neglected. Had to flag staff down more than once to get a second round of drinks and our bill at the end of the meal. Again, overall a good experience, just need to tighten up on the service aspect.
I came here with three friends who are all foodies. Three of us loved it and one thought it was OK. The cocktails were unique and nuanced, and although a bit pricey (maybe not for NYC) were very much worth it. The uni bibimbap was delicate and nuanced and the Osamil fried rice was bold and full of flavor. I would certainly come back again!
This korean restaurant, Osamil, is amazing! They normally need reservation because the place is pretty busy but the host was so awesome and able to squeeze us in before their night reservation. The ambience of the place was so hip and trendy, the drinks/cocktail were delicious, and the food were awesome! The best korean food I had in New York.We had the classic korean chicken wings, half oysters, short ribs skewers, pork belly skewers, shrimps skewers, and the noodle dish-Johnson tang. The food came out fast and the service was great. Our server were very helpful and attentive! I recommend this place if you are in New York City!
Came here as a party of two and we both fell in love with their ttoekbokki! It is AMAZING! When we finished the plate we immediately wanted more. The service was very fast and very friendly! The atmosphere was great too. I remember commenting on the good playlist choices.
First of all, this restaurant is very busy, and sometimes it is ignored by the waiters. Secondly, the dishes are on the salty side, which is suitable for those with heavy tastes. Overall, the environment is good, but it is too noisy.
The grilled avocado with crab and braised short rib were standout dishes, both amazing for their exceptional flavors. The potato zucchini pancake was disappointing, overly oily and spicy despite our request for non-spicy recommendations, reflecting unprofessional service. While the foie gras was good, the toast portion was too small to balance the dish. Despite slow service and a dark ambiance, the overall food quality made it a solid 4/5 experience.
Busy spot serving up fantastic Korean food. There are basically no vegetarian options on the menu unfortunately but the ones they have are really yummy. I had the sweet potato fries (fire) and the japchae noodles (also fire).
Had a wonderful meal and amazing cocktails. We ordered two cocktails each, a bibimbap, fried chicken and truffle fries. Everything was delicious! FYI, the shareable fried chicken dish is an ENTIRE fried chicken. We did not realize this so we ended up taking a good amount home. The cocktails my friend and I tried were all delicious- the last one we ordered called Da Green Monsta was our favorite. It was sweet and had matcha sprinkled on top- it was the perfect post meal cocktail.
The truth is, this is a place that I would like to keep secret, because if I make it public, I most likely wont find a table later, but I shouldnt be selfish. It is a hidden place, with few advertisements. It is a true gastrobar, with a narrow menu but with a lot of flavor. It has two social spaces, the first, which welcomes you with a bar with various and fun cocktails, full of young, educated people who love good food. We started with a mocktail because it was my driving day. She ordered another cocktail, which made my mouth water. As a starter we enjoyed a fried octopus accompanied by two sauces that expanded the flavor of the dish. As a main course, we ordered some homemade pasta with shrimp, octopus and clams. Everything had great flavor, but I had to leave an exquisite sauce that I couldnt grab with my chopsticks. They didnt offer me bread either, but, of course, its a Korean restaurant, everything was fresh and on point. The second space of the restaurant is a secret, that you, if you are lucky, should discover, I only know that it is in a basement and through a hidden door. The price for a pleasant time was 120. It does not have its own parking.
Atmosphere was cozy and cute. We sat at the bar because there were no tables available but the bar was actually really nice to sit at. Jokbal and Clam soup were delicious. Both cocktail and mock tail that our server recommended was really sweet and good too. I’m planning on visiting again to try out the other dishes next time!
Went as a group of 7 and had a great time here. The service is phenomenal and very attentive. They’re friendly and constantly checking in to make sure you have everything. We ordered a few items to share with the table and then individual entrees as well.Disclaimer: didn’t get many pictures… but the Korean Market Fried Chicken is an entire bird (minus the head) and we shared that as a table. It was cooked really well and VERY crispy! Come with an appetite if you order that.To share: sweet potato fries, squid fries, and French fries (we love fries), Potato & Zucchini Jeon, and Mushroom Japchae which were all very good!Entrees: someone had already been there and suggested the burger so honestly that’s what we all ordered and it was GOOD!
Nice chill environment. Great recommendations from the bartender. The oysters aren’t as fishy as other oysters I’ve had so def try them if u are into them. Do keep in mind though that they are $3 per oyster and you must order a minimum of 6.Happy hour is only Monday to Thursday 5-7pm.Kimchi fried rice with steak was very interesting and had a hint of spice which is perhaps from the black pepper? For cocktails we got Pom Dom Dom and Oaxatacon which were pretty good -kudos to the bartenders recommendation.Overall it was pretty expensive but a worthwhile experience.
Good happy hour drinks and daily specials. Got the wings, pork belly, and oysters. The food was good and arrived at timely manner. Attentive service. The ambiance is rustic but vibrant. Looking forward to try other dishes
Cool spot with plenty of seating and a memorable food experience. Upbeat classy eatery, more suited for a casual date or a group experience. Gastropub feel, high class menu. Slightly pricey, but the menu options and flavor profiles make up for it. Highly recommend!Food: 9/10The food was phenomenal. I was pleasantly surprised to see such a wide variety of unique menu items I was more than willing to try. The mackerel was succulent and tasty. The Beef tartare was pleasant and most likely not a good rendition of traditional beef tartares! The kimchi fried rice with flank steak was the highlight of the menu. The steak melted in your mouth, and the rice held such a strong flavor profile with a perfect amount of spice. The shishitos were good (its impossible to make bad shishitos) but lackluster in comparison to the many places Ive had shishitos. The fried (anchovies?) that served as a topping saved the dish for sure.Service: 3/5Took awhile to get our server to get our drinks and menu, but to be fair, it looked like he had every table in the restaurant. He was endlessly running around. There wasnt any real introduction, just what do you want to eat kind of thing. Once we ordered, the food was prompt and quick! Our wine glasses were constantly refilled which boosted the service in my eyes.Experience: 5/5This place had a spatious outdoor dining with a warming building built around it! The bar itself was very classy and cool. The various types of seating gave it a more creative look. The creative menu is exactly what I search for, and I had such a good time. I was glad I took my cousin from California here as one of our meals!Value: 3/5The portions can vary from small to fair. We split 3 shareable small dishes and one shareable entree, and it was enough for small eaters I suppose. When paying $10-20 for small plates I expected a little more. We had enough room to go up the street to an ice cream parlor and fill up there.20/25: 5 stars
Cool Korean inspired bar with unique dishes like Uni Bibimbap! Its a great place to order a few dishes to share, next time Ill have to try the drinks! Got the beef tartare, uni Bibimbap, pear endive salad, fried squid, and gambas. Out door seating was comfortable and decorated with retro magazines, though service was understandably more space outside which was fine. Everything was delicious and quite beautiful.
Really good cocktails. Probably the best I’ve had in the city. Food was amazing. Daniel the bartender definitely knows what he’s doing and provided us with a great experience. Highly recommended for whoever’s looking for good, special cocktails and good authentic Korean food
We really enjoyed Osamil! Great cocktails and experimental dishes. We had the uni bibimbap (pictured) and the kimchi fried rice with steak. Very nice & modern overall. Attentive wait staff.
One of my favorite spots in NY! Excellent menu, everything I’ve ever tried taste delicious! I was blown away by Squid fries!Great cocktails, friendly service and beautiful cozy atmosphere
I came here twice and was dying to come back so i recently made the trip to midtown. The drinks here were amazing, the oyster happy hour is great and the sauces they come with is a nice twist on the usual. The uni bibimbap (pictured) is my favorite. I did order the bone marrow after seeing tables nearby order the same thing and it looked delish. When it arrived, our piece came with very little marrow compared to the other tables. I asked the waitress if we could get a smaller piece on top of ours to make up for it and she said no. Quite disappointed as you can visibly see the difference between my tables piece and the other tables piece(pictured below). Would come again but probably wouldnt get the marrow again.
We had the pork belly skewers, the seafood tteokbokki, and the kimchi fried rice. The portions were pretty darn big but I thought they were all very flavorful
Fun, lively restaurant and seems like its always packed even at 6pm. My favorite is the bone marrow, squid fries, short rib and pork belly skewers.
Lively, colorful bar in K-town without the crowd that is on the main strip. I ordered the Blue Lagoon, a strong sweet and spicy mix. My sister ordered Da-Bee, a popular subtle (compared to mine!) sweet cocktail.
Came here for the uni bibimbap, left falling in love with the rosé tteokbokki. Dont get me wrong, the uni bibimbap was delicious, but the serving of the uni was just so small. The real surprise was the rosé tteokbokki. We did not expect to like it as much as we did. We ended up ordering fries just to soak up the rest of the sauce. The ambiance was very nice as well. Try to get a seat by the bookshelf. It would make for a great picture.
Oh my God! I dono how to explain how delicious the food is over here. We tried fries, oysters, grilled pork. And to drink, you would definitely try the SAKE😍 We tried two different types of sake...saketini like martini and the general sake carafe. Ambience is good as well. Absolutely nothing to complain. If you like Japanese food, this is one hell of a place to go to.
I came to Osamil with my friend after hearing great things about this restaurant from another friend. We ordered the Endive & Korean Pear Salad, Beef Tartare, and Uni Bibimbap to share. The ambience at Osamil is great, however I was personally a bit disappointed with the food. I understand that this is a Korean fusion restaurant but I felt that the food under-delivers for what you are paying (or perhaps it was what we had ordered that was a bit lackluster). The Endive & Korean Pear Salad was the better of the three dishes that we had ordered. The Beef Tartare (육회) was alright but flavor wise didnt really stand out to me. It kind of just reminded me of another korean dish that uses raw fish instead of raw beef.I was the most excited for the Uni Bibimbap but thought it was overall pretty disappointing. There is too much rice in the dish and if you mix all the components together, you are essentially left with more than sufficient seasoned rice to make rice balls (주먹밥). I have had uni bibimbap before here and there (and a couple times at Samwon Garden Korean BBQ which is also in Koreatown). I personally think that the uni bibimbap tastes better there.Food and general aesthetics of the restaurant look great but I think that sometimes, substance is also as important.
Spectacular. The food and cocktails were amazing. Shout it out to sarah.I strongly recommend uni bibibam and rose dukkboki
Great casual spot with amazing food and cocktails.
An adventure in Korean cuisine, everything was delicious, portions were large, waiter was amazing and atmosphere lively. The Potato & Zucchini Jeon was incredible!! The Uni Bibimbap was also fantastic. As a pescatarian, the menu was definitely meat-centric… the slabs of meat and whole fried chickens coming out of the open kitchen looked truly amazing.
Nice place, Nice food, Nice staff ...All we have tried in there was really goodThe octopus was so good and tasty. The fried chicken to share is amazing.Cocktails are good too
Amazing atmosphere. Food is superb and has great portions. Service overall is astonishing. All the staff in different areas of the restaurant provide and serve you with great personal service!
Very solid food and drank all around. Really enjoyed the skewers, lamb galbi, and beef tartare.
Amazing, get the uni bimimpap was my favorite
Yummy drinks and really good food. We love the Korea fried chicken and the Kimchi fried rice. Staff was great.
Great vibes and drinks! Would love to come back to try more next time
One of my new favorite spots!! My friend took me here and swore by how delicious it was and it didn’t disappoint. Pictured here is the kimchi fried rice but everything was 10/10 so cozy and delicious. Will be going back!
Love the aesthetics of the restaurant! Service was good and food was decent. I would say the Cured shrimp and the uni bibimbap were my favorite. The drinks were delicious though and happy hour is till 7pm!
Great food. Lively atmosphere. Packed at night. Speakeasy on the second floor.
New top 5 in NYC!To get: bulgogi, squid fries, galbi skewerService is friendly, knowlegable, fastTake friends here to wow them as ambiance is great and social! Only remark is, that they could make the marinades less salty (and i like salty!)Price seams also reasonable. Five stars all around.
This place is busy and reservation is suggested for all day and every day. I enjoy their happy hour and havent get a chance to properly dine here due to reservation.Happy hour is amazing. I am not talking about the price as it might be one of the factors. The key is their quality. A true happy hour needs to match an actual discount and happy customer. Their $1 oyster is a gem find. The size of the oysters is huge. We also got their wings. They are something to die for. Usually during happy hour wing at some place, they rush their order and food doesnt come out right. This however was not rushed at all. Well done.Drink is a treat. The bartender gave us water first and thanks for that. Bar is probably the best place to be during happy hour. They have a bunch of high table and they move fast.Great spot to meet for a date.
Incredible food and drinks. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries, the shrimp and the scallops. The vibe is loud and very social, so would recommend this spot for bigger group dinners. I’ll definitely be back!
If you want a delicious, intimate experience come Osamil! My bartender Minwoo was amazing. He was very attentive and made amazing drinks. I had the scallop and spicy pork skewers alongside my drinks and it was delicious. Highly recommend!
Very chic restaurant. Seating is very comfortable. Servers are very nice. Kimchi fried rice is as good as expected. Fried squid is super delicious. Potato pancake is quite interesting.
Visited on a Saturday night -- make sure to make a reservation as it gets very busy. Service was on a slower side as it was packed. Overall cute presentation. Da Green Monsta was definitely the best drink we tried here!Da Green Monsta 4/5Banana Kick 4/5Seoul Mate 4/5Cloud #9 3/5Sunny Side Up 3/5
A must-visit Korean restaurant with a nice atmosphere and delicious food. Love their happy hour deals as well. 💯
The Kimchi Burger is fantastic, and John, the Mixologist, fixed a Bespoke drink with Bourbon that was smooth, not overly sweet as I prefer more bitter. He nailed it
Overall the experience was great. I really like the cocktails - tried the namesake cocktail and Da Green Monstah and both of them had great flavor. I felt like Kobe beef salad could have had more flavor. I liked the soup base of the Millefeuille Nabe a lot.
Dave Chang may have introduced Americans to elevated Korean food but Osamil is carrying that flag further and hitting all the right notes in the process. I had mixed expectations going into a last minute booking but was really impressed by the quality of dishes, excellent service and great cocktail program. The uni bibimbop was stellar and the shisito pepper skewers, thick bacon and scallion skewers , and Kobe beef salad were stand outs. The burger was great (though a touch over salted) and their fries were also excellentIt’s just nice to have a solid go to spot for quality food, drink and vibe in the area. Definitely adding this to the rotation.
Dollar wings on Tuesdays with 4 flavors to choose from - spicy, soy garlic, salt and pepper, classic, at least 6 an order per flavor. Happy hour dollar oysters everyday 4-7pm :)
One of my fav restaurants in the city. The interior is cozy, the staff were attentive and friendly, and most importantly the food is delicious.I have yet to try an item I didn’t enjoy from their menu but I highly recommend the braised short rib, short rib skewers, bone marrow, and kimchi fried rice. The braised short rib literally melts in your mouth; it’s so tender. It’s a flavor bomb and the chestnut puree (looks like mashed potatoes) that it comes with is so so good!!!!The short rib skewers were so tender and delicious. It only comes 1 per order tho.The bone marrow hands down was bussinnnn. Scoop the bone marrow onto the toast with the sauce; scrumptious. It’s buttery, delicious, melts in your mouth flavorbomb. So good. 10/10Kimchi fried rice comes with a sunny side egg that you mix in; so flavorful.
Had a brunch here. Ordered kimchi deviled eggs, served quickly. Mains were kimchi wagyu fried rice, and spicy pork avocado toast. Both mains were way beyond expectations, cooked in perature, great favors, spicy and rich but not at all overwhelming. Wagyu was soft and juicy, nicely paired with the fried rice. Spice pork (served with the $15 avocado toast) was a big delicious treat.
The pork shank, chicken wings, and clam soup are great. The uni bibimbap is quite oily and could have more flavor.
An excellent meal, truly a 5 star experience. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere, all of it was excellent and 5 stars. Highly recommend the pork shank and the fried rice!
Our group had so much fun at this ktown spot, the food and drinks were delicious! We ordered the squid fries, soy garlic wings, baby octopus, bulgogi and kimchi fried rice! The bulgogi was not what we were expecting, it was more like a hamburger, good flavor though. The squid fries came with an insane wasabi dipping sauce. The wings and the baby octopus were our favorites! The octopus was quite spicy and came with a crispy potato pancake
A great Korean restaurant! The ambience was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the service as the staff were super friendly. The food was delicious and we’ll definitely be back to try more items.
It is one of my new favorite places!!! Our bartender Camila was fantastic and made me a delicious cocktail and picked out a delicious Cabinet for my friend Jennifer. Charcuterie and Fromage plate was excellent. Will definitely be back.😊
Great place to meet friends and impress them. The cocktails are high quality, creative and interesting. The service and staff was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and stimulating. Have fun with the drink menu.
Every item on the menu does wonders for your gastro-soul. Food was organically so good. With a large group we were able to indulge in a lot of items. Wings, Uni, Hangar steak, Bulgogi, Khimchi rice, Pork shoulder - supremely good.
We only came for cocktails - but the quality of the cocktails and the service makes me want to return again. I’ve had many bad cocktails for the same price in NYC. Here so much effort was put into the presentation and the taste. For a change I felt like I’d didn’t waste my money on a $17 cocktail! Great atmosphere and friendly staff- will return .
NOTHING MISSED. The pork shank is to die for: so favourful and tender the cold slaw is Korean styled super refreshing to balance out the fattiness of the pork. The tartare was so marinated and didn’t taste like nasty raw meat. The squid fries weren’t that special but was delicious overall amazing meal. It was also not super hard to get a table (we sat at the high table) the night I went. Great value for great food!
Came here with a friend accidentally because Baro by Chefs next door was closing up. We just walked in Friday 11:30 PM, no reservations. It was still brimming with people. The atmosphere was great! Service, amazing -- the runners and the servers do their very best to put on a friendly accommodating attitude. Would come back just for their energy. That being said, the food was very delicious. My friend and I already ate dinner and wanted drinks & snacks. We were already so full, but still managed to inhale everything we ordered because it was just that delicious. Please note, portions are small but dense in flavor. We orderedSeafood Rosé Tokbokki $25Daenjang-Foie Gras Mousse & Toast $24Grilled Scallops Skewer $9All three were delicious, the sauce for the Tokbokkk was creamy, hint of spice and a whole ton of seafood umami. The liver mouse was savory, smooth, I ordered a second helping of bread jsut to slowly enjoy its beauty. Scallop, fresh, standard. I would come back to try the rest of the food menu.We ordered Osamil and Lime-ito drinks. They are strong. I liked my drink, but wasnt blown away by its flavor. My friends lime-ito was a lacking. The drinks as made with a kaffir lime leaf infused rum, the kaffir didnt come through. The sweet / sour balance was a off. I think it would be better as a drink with crushed ice vs cubed ice.I would give a different drink another try for happy hour. But at full price, possibly not.
Highly recommend the uni bibimbap and marinated shrimp. The baby octopus didnt make sense to me though, the fried onions you eat it with very much overpower the octopus so I wouldnt recommend that one, otherwise great dinner
Wonderful place. Amazing food with a friendly staff. Braised short ribs with bone marrow were tender was a explosive amount of favor. Whole squid cook just right. And oysters were very fresh.
This last Saturday, had an amazing dining experience at Osamil. The weather outside was really bad and we reached Osamil only to find the place completely packed. I thought the wait time is going to be really long, but the manager found us a table pretty swiftly. And that feeling of happiness at being seated promptly in a packed place was only the beginning! Everything we ordered was delicious, including the simple fries. I didnt try to cocktails this time round because we were thirsty for some soju that evening. But, definitely going to return.
Osamil is a must. I went as a walk in and got seated in one of the high tops. The food was amazing. I ordered the squid fries which were nice and crispy. The beef tartare was very flavorful, it was definitely my favorite dish. Uni Bibimbap was something new for me and it did not disappoint. Service was great, servers were very attentive and friendly. I definitely will be coming back to try other dishes.
Get the Korean market fried chicken, and order around it. This giant, crispy chicken is paired with a creamy slaw and soy / spicy sauce that cuts the richness of the chicken. It can easily feed two to four people.Happy hour oysters ($9 for 6) were a good deal in the city. The oysters tasted fresh and paired well with lemon, soy and spicy sauces. The marinated shrimp was decadent, savory, and creamy in texture. A burst of seafood flavor. The squid fries were well-cut, crisp, and had a perfect bite. The service and ambiance were excellent. A great dinner, and great value for a group of friends / family if you share the whole chicken.
One of the best Asian fusion restaurants & pubs in NYC. Have tried different dishes and they were all pretty good. Drinks are affordable and tasty either.
Will definitely be coming back here, everything was amazing but they were out of the fried chicken. My favorite was the steak bibimbap and all the cocktails were very clever!
Great food and service, but the portion is too small for an entree. I was expecting something more when I ordered this. The bone marrow was very tasty but I could easily find places with the same price but much larger portion in ktown.
Great dinner with great atmosphereHad dinner with friends. There were four of us and we spilt three dishes. The soup was very large and tasty. The half a chicken was an extremely large dish however, the bibimbap was very small (yet was great)The cocktails are highly recommend. The service and atmosphere were super good. Will come back
So I met my little cousins in the city for a little bday dinner and I must say I enjoyed this place. The food was delicious. The salt and pepper wings were small and fried to perfection, so crisp, crunchy, and flavorful, I also tried the scallops and pork belly skewers. The pork belly was a bit spicy to spicy for my liking. I had to give it away. I couldnt handle it. The scallop skewers were so juicy and cooked to perfection. My one Cousin tried the spicy wings. I tried one, and it wasnt spicy at all they were a bit on the sweet side, but they still had the crunch that my salt and pepper wing had. My other cousin had the lamb she said it melted in her mouth and I just had to try and guess what it sure did it was very delicious the said salad served with it was so light and fresh. Our aunt went with the burger, and they made it to her liking, and she enjoyed it to the end. She fell in love with the dipping sauce that comes with the fries. You have the option of making your own drink if you like, and of course, one of my cousins tried and named it after her and just enjoyed it every drop of it. Overall, it was a great experience affordable with a very cozy vibe, and theres coat hangers everywhere, so youll always have a place to put a coat or purse. Dylan was a great waiter and always there when needed. I can see myself coming back to try out more dishes. Kinda looking forward to it.
These dishes fuse things that you wouldnt expect to make sense... But they most certainly do! Good fun and tasty food. Also, check out the speak-easy upstairs.
Wow. Just wow. Amazing food. Would love to go back. The prices are a little high but when the food is good and the service is great, it makes it worth it. I will say the seating is not the most comfortable but even with so many people, it made it feel intimate at our table. And they make a wonderful old fashioned.
Went with my brother for drinks. The barkeepers are very professional and offer incredibly delicious cocktails. My brother went back for dinner two days later and truly enjoyed his experience. I will be back.
Osamils kimchi fried rice was outta this world! And the rose tteokbokki and the fried chicken were also hits.
Wonderful food and cocktails. Would recommend the pork shank! Had the osamil cocktail. Not too sweet and very refreshing
This is what’s left of the most Amazing ribs!! Everything was fantastic; the drinks, the service, the ambiance, and the food out of this world! Definitely coming back and defiantly recommend Osamil. Advice make a reservation! And thank you to the Amazing hostesses!!
Osamil is a gem. I had the pleasure of having Minwoo as my bartender, and let me tell you, the guy knows his craft. The drinks? Top-notch. The conversations? Even better. Its rare to find a place that nails both the atmosphere and the service. If you’re in Midtown, do yourself a favor and drop by Osamil. Ask for Minwoo and some fries—you wont regret it.
Always enjoy my time here. Food is always on point and the cocktails are spot on
Great quality food and service. The Korean beef burger is a must try if you like good burgers.
The steak fried rice tastes a bit spicy but the steak and rice are cooked perfectly. The music in the restaurant is a little bit loud.
Highly recommended. Can’t say you’ve been to K-town without visiting this place at least once. Everything was exceptional.
Great selection of drinks. Great food! The mood is on the darker side and low lighting.
Possibly the best restaurant in Korea town. Everything we ordered was incredible. The kimchi fried rice is a must if you decide to visit. Great staff and great atmosphere.
Extremely pretentious place. I went there for my birthday, and ask to accommodate my cake for our dinner later. They denied. I then asked to eat the cake at the moment, with some drinks, and they said no since “outside food is not accepted if you don’t consume a meal” … will never go back
Osamil is a “pub-food” type korean restaurant in the heart of Ktown. Its distinct from the korean bbq joints and various tofu or other specialty korean restaurants in the area, in that they are more modern and ‘western’ in execution. Traditional korean food, this is not. There was a seafood rice cake stew which featured deep fried mozzarella, for example. Overall i’d say the food was solid if not special. I think people come here to drink and have a good time, and that is certainly something you would find here. Protip: after dinner, ask about the cocktail bar upstairs. I promise you wont be disappointed.
The food at Osamil was excellent, and I would definitely return for it. The drinks were creative and fun, though I found them a bit underwhelming.
Not typically a fan of Korean fare, but I absolutely loved this place’s food and ambiance!
Possibly one of the best (yet, most expensive) cocktail bar experiences in my life. The barkeepers know their craftsmanship and the cocktails are absolutely awesome. Definitely recommended to sit at the bar and watch!Nonetheless, the food and the entire etablissement was great all the way to the top.
Oysters! Yum! So many delicious options, but a standout for me was the bone marrow spread - fatty, flavorful, delicious!
We ate here on my birthday and the food and drinks were amazing! I highly recommend it. The Be Spoke cocktail was unbelievably delicious! They even brought me a special flaming soju birthday shot. For for, everything looked and tasted wonderfully. The pork belly stood out and so did the sashimi & daikon salad and shishito pepper skewers. We wanted the pork shank, but with only two of us, it would have been too much food. Though, we will be having back with a group to try it!Definitely make a reservation beforehand as they can be quite busy. However, make one online (we looked at resy and open table) because when we called, we were told there wasnt anything until really late, but the apps told us differently. Not that the restaurant wanted to keep you from coming, but Im guessing the apps might have had more up-to-date info.Another thing was that we were sat before the change from the normal menu to the late night menu. However, our server was so busy that it took a while for her to come back to us. When she did, she swapped our menu from the normal dinner to the late night menu. This was annoying as the late night menu, while still vast, removed options from the original menu selection.
Spent the evening here with friends for my birthday and I’m really glad I did. The atmosphere and music was so on point the food and drinks was so delicious, i wanted more. Eleanor, our waitress, was hands down the best ever. Very great to talk to and very attentive to us. We already can’t wait to go back again.
Large menu and everything was great. We ordered the truffle fries 5 times! Don’t miss the lamb galbi or beef tartare. Definitely want to come back to try the other dishes.
Food was alright, i got the squid fries, kimchi fried rice with steak, wings, and a skewer. nothing too crazy. my reservation also got messed up.
Great food, Great service. They are a bit pricey but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our time here. The staff are awesome and friendly. We enjoyed Oyster happy hour, baby octopus, Galbi, spicy pork, soy wings and shishito pepper.
Great take on Korean food, having just come back, the creative dishes reminded me of Korea but with an American edge. The whole fried chicken is a must. One negative, they have a limit of one hour and 30 minutes on the table and we felt rushed especially as dinner was ending.
The cocktails are excellent, a lot of thought and time go into them- you can tell. They make their own infusions and bitters and syrups, its like a modern tiki menu!
Everything here was amazing! Wings are crispy, pate smooths and delicious, pancakes crispy and with great dipping sauce, rice cake tokbokki was next level! Fried rice with steak is a must as well. Everything was cooked perfectly and service was quick and attentive.
Came to celebrate a birthday, left wanting to come back sooner 🥲 for a group of 4 we got pear & pom salad, oysters, bibimbap, 2 skewers, and fried chicken—felt perfectly full. Happy hour cocktails also cute and tasty!
Great place for drinks & dinner. Reasonably priced, and the service is great. We were served by Eleanor and she was great! Highly recommend the pork belly and shitake skewers, as well as the fried chicken.
Always a great time at Osamil. Oysters were juicy and sweet and briney. The seafood bouillabaisse was SO DELICIOUS. The sauce is just the perfection fusion of Korean and French. Clam soup is so simple but tasted so good with the slight spice (although it gets to you in the end) and garlic.. clams were quite meaty. This time ordered too many mollusks with 3 dishes featuring clams, oysters and mussels, so don’t do that.
This place was PACKED on a Thursday night and it was very difficult to move in between tables. They had many unique items on the menu. The squid fries were tasty, the truffle fries were mediocre and a little soggy, needed more seasoning. Their garlic shrimp was light in flavor but fresh, and pork dish in the photo was flavorful and texture rich but wasnt my thing. I recommend for those looking to add adventure to their pallete.
Great place for pre dinner cocktails, good vibes, professional bartenders.
Highly recommend the kimchi fried rice with hanger steak. Chicken wings and sweet potatoe fries were also really good!
Absolutely fantastic! Cocktails were excellent. Food was phenomenal. Get the soy garlic wings, probably some of the best food I have ever eaten. The whole Korean fried chicken is also amazing. Juicy on the inside and the skin was super crispy and flavorful. Great service as well.
Delicious sharable food! We loved the whole fried chicken, the uni bibimbap, the squid fries, tteokbokki, and octopus.Food came out all in an unexpected order but it was fine.Cocktails were also delicious!!
Shout-out to September and Daniel the bartenders 💫💫💫💫!!!! Incredible niche and delicious cocktail bar, right on the corner from popular Ktown spots. It was a perfect place to grab a couple drinks after a big KBBQ dinner, with modern yet classic twists on the drinks. I LOVED the 2 different Bespoke customized drinks that we had, where I had two different variations of margaritas that definitely hit the spot, but were wonderfully surprising yet reassuringly familiar. Also loved the Oaxacan in the Desert for a smoky yet bright tequila drinks, and ADORED the Lost in Seoul, with a bubbly effervescent uplift and also a nice dry tang like the back of a fresh cider — with a citrus undertone! MUST GO!!
Food was fantastic. Server was okay, wasn’t very attentive once food was served.
Uni-bibimbap, steak fried rice and the shrimp are the good ones.Pork shank, squid fries and fried chicken are just average
Good food and good service. Authentic Korean dishes with a twist and a comfortable environment in Korea town.
It’s definitely a nice Korean American pub restaurant. Some Items are on the spicier side without indication. Definitely a metro area w/metro area prices. Overall great experience. This is somewhere to show friends a nice and Asian American retro style.
What an amazing experience! The staff are very friendly and accommodating as well as fast. Water was always full, table was always clean, hunger was always quenched.Such a great location and the interior setup works. But let’s get back to the real topic, the food!!!Must try it all!! Thus far I have not been disappointed or unsatisfied by anything on the menu.Must go to NYC location 🫰🏼
Their happy hour deal was awesome! (1/2 dozen fresh oyster for $9 until 7pm). We ordered salad, skewers and the lamb chops from the grill. Everything was tasty and so flavorful!
Best kimchi fried rice I ever had!!! Great staff too! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful! Bartenders were great helping me pick drinks based on what I like. Overall great place, amazing atmosphere, and great food! Bit on the pricey side but a great place to treat yourself too!
Great place for drinks and Korean fusion dishes in an atmospheric interior.
I was in NYC for a conference and found Osamil on a Google search. I took 4 of my coworkers and everyone loved it. The food and the atmosphere were great. I highly recommend the fried chicken and Kimchi fried rice. I will be back next time I am in NYC.
Food was DELICIOUS. The flavors were incredibly delicate and balanced. We ordered a second round of the Kimchi fried rice & steak because it was so good. Octopus and all of our cocktails were also amazing! Very comfortable vibrant atmosphere inside, decorations and lighting were perfect. Will definitely go back soon!
Excellent food, good service. I’ve been a few times and loved every dish I’ve ever ordered. Nice bar upstairs. Some of the tables in back are a bit cramped with stools instead of chairs.
Great vibes with awesome service, they were very easy to talk to and no one had any attitudes. The tokbokki was my favorite and wasnt that spicy. Total spending was pretty high tho...
We were immediately kicked out of the upstairs bar because the waitress didn’t want to believe we were customers since we were still looking around the bar for our friends. Tried to reason out that we were paying customers but waitress kept cutting us off. Didn’t get to meet with friends and just rescheduled another night. Hostile environment.
Nice cozy vibe, good food, good drinks, good service. Nothing to complain about!
Upstairs cocktail bar is swanky and so chill. Great atmosphere.
Awesome place with a really good Asian Flare! The food was outstanding. Lots of flavor and options. The fried rice was out of this world. I enjoyed everything we ordered at the table. Excellent customer service!
I really love this place. I live in Idaho and discovered it in 2019. I came back yesterday and this was our first stop for dinner. Becca was an amazing and attentive server. And the food and drinks were incredible. I’m such a big fan, thank you!
Min was really nice to us
I came here for a meetup with friends, and had a great time! We just wanted to get drinks and maybe some small bites, so we were able to walk in and get seats at the bar.The drinks were great! I got the na-bee drink which was tasty and sweet, and paired great with the squid fries. It was nice to actually sit at the bar because we got to see the bartenders make all sorts of drinks, and you can easily tell they’re a cocktail bar.I would definitely come back again! I’ll have to try more of their drinks for sure.
Delicious, unique, fun meal with a variety of creative small plates and extensive cocktail menu, including a “surprise drink” that the bartender creates based on your preferences. We really enjoyed everything we tried, especially the salmon sashimi, endive and pear salad, and tokbokki. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and brought my friend a complementary drink for her birthday!
A middling experience with relatively bland food in a crowded space. We ordered beef bulgogi, fried chicken and sweet potato fries. Fries were excellent and the accompanying sauce was delicious. Fried chicken lacked seasoning, and the two accompanying sauces did not add depth of flavor. Beef bulgogi was most disappointing. Tasted like a hamburger brushed with sweet sauce. Service was great. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes.
Went here for an early birthday dinner. The food was amazing, especially for the price range. They accidentally undercooked my burger, but they were very apologetic and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.
Good food
Foods are pretty good, great service, wonderful ambiance. 5 stars except the seats are pretty uncomfortable and we sat super close to two other tables.
They were incredibly accommodating with our large group. Managed to get this reservation 2 days before for a Saturday night for 18 people. Delicious food. Kevin, our server, was amazing. We ordered one of everything on the menu and three of all the apps. The food comes out QUICK. It was all so so good.
Incredible food! Be warned that the portions are quite big though
Went here for just drinks and it was definitely an experience! Great cocktails and there is a speakeasy upstairs, make sure you have a reservation before you go. Gets pretty crowded quickly.
This review is for the upstairs cocktail bar. Busy so get a reservation and definitely come on time. The menu is adventurous, but the drinks are very well crafted. Perfect for a date night or for a decent sized group of friends
Very modern korean place. Has lot of fusion non traditional dishes. The tebottke is too heavy. We really liked our uni bimbimbap. However Bone marrow appetizer was delivered to our table after we got our check …
I stopped here for happy hour so I did not have any of the main dishes however the food and drinks I did try were delicious. The fried squid was perfectly crispy and not over seasoned. It was paired with a gochujang sauce which was more on the sweet than spicy side but still good. They also have a miso sauce but I prefer gochujang so stuck with that. We also ordered the fried wings both the salt and pepper and the spicy! I definitely preferred the salt and pepper another perfectly seasoned and crisp wing that paired wel with the gochujang sauce. The spicy wing was not spicy at all. It was closer to a teriyaki flavor but still delicious. I tried the Omasil drink which was not heavy on the alcohol and the pinky promise which was more delicious in my opinion. The onasil is very beautiful but I would probably choose the pinky promise for flavor. Staff was very kind and the atmosphere was dim and intimate despite it being fairly packed it wasn’t too loud for conversation at all. We spent about $60 per person. I would come back and try the mains.
Had a group of five hangout for Saturday dinner. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great. We loved the fried whole chicken so much that we asked to take out the half that we didnt finish. Taking one star away because one of our servers was rude and threw away the chicken, but when we raised the issue to our main server who promptly reported it to the manager, they took care of it properly.
OMG, the whole fried chicken was OUTSTANDING, which came with sumptuous sauces, and to put it simply, it was perfection! The drinks we got were fantastic as well. I will return to Osamil the next time Im in NYC to try the other options for food and drinks here. You have a customer for life.
A Korean gastropub with amazing food! Place gets fairly busy so would recommend heading in as early as possible. Highly recommend the cured shrimp and uni bibimbap. The kimchi fried rice and wings are also great for sharing. Will definitely come back to try the whole fried chicken!
The pork shank was incredible. The meat was very flavorful and tender. Pork skin was soft and not too fatty. It’s covered by a sauce, which gave it more flavor. It’s also a lot larger than I expected.Unibimbap was a little too oily.Beef taretare was very good. The veggie stacked at the bottom had a sweet taste. It balanced out the meat’s flavor.
All the dishes we tried were fantastic, prepared and cooked so well - whole fried chicken, bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, bulgogi, the drinks, squid fries - highly recommend all of it. We shared dishes between 6 people and was plenty. Its a cozy place so its definitely not for the people who need spacious seating arrangements - more like a pub type feel. That said the service is top! Super friendly and attentive.
Good location and service. Outdoor area was perfectly fine on a fairly cold day. Our party didnt partake of the drinks too much but I would guess they are pretty good. Food is not the most authentic Korean food but was still tasty.
We were lucky to stop at this place. We stopped by to get a drink, we sat at the bar, and bartender John was amazing! So much attention to detail in the drinks! We went back again the next night to try the food and some more drinks! We asked John for his signature drink, and what he gave us was so flavorsome that we asked for it again when we were back the next night! Definitely recommend the kimchi fried rice! So delicious!! I will definitely be coming back next time Im in NY!
For a place with a relatively small menu, the food left a big impression on me. Even when sitting down at 9pm on a Thursday night, the place was still filled to the brim with joyful diners. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food came out very quickly as well. The kimchi fried rice with the hangar steak was a standout, so much so that we needed to stop ourselves from ordering another one. The libations were standard for a Korean restaurant, but paired well with all the food. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu--the pork shank and market chicken look phenomenal.
I used to love their uni bibimbap but when I ordered it today, it was so bitter! When we brought it up to the staff they just tried to gaslight us essentially and told us it was because they changed the type of uni they used to murasaki. It was so disappointing, especially because I used to rave about this place (and especially their uni bibimbap) to my friends. Will never visit again :(
Everything here was so delicious! Highly recommend the chicken!!!
The food was so delicious and the service was very nice as well, will be going back
Will definitely come back real soon!! Love everything about this place. Went there on Sunday night and it wasn’t busy so we could get a seat right away. Me and friend only tried Kimchi fried rice added steak, fried sweet potato and fried squid. All of them are yummy! Cocktails is also good. Their decor is interesting, chic and cozy. It’s a nice place to hang out with friends.Their food menu is interesting, want to try more so will definitely bring more people :)
Sexy and stylish Korean gastropub with tasty food, excellent creative cocktails, and friendly and prompt service. Make a reservation if you go after 6pm
My friend and I decided to stop by here and try out a new bar for happy hour for a beer. We pay our tab right away and proceed to enjoy the beer. I paid my tab with Mateo and then Minwoon proceeded to ask me if I paid my tab shortly after which I showed him the receipt to prove it. Then as my friend and I were leaving another of the servers named John chased after us as if we were criminals. I didn’t see the bartenders run after anyone else but my Hispanic friend and I who paid our tab in full at 6:37pm (yes I have the receipt).
When you for a friend’s birthday celebration. The food are on the pricey side and be aware that some of the food are like tapas size. The kimchi rice was on the salty side and it cost $8 extra for steak in it. The beef tartar is good with the pear slices, but it was a small dish. The clams was good and the broth has some spicy kick to it which I love. We also got a whole fried chicken to share. The place does accept card payment and we had reservations for the place.
Fantastic experience, bar staff was super friendly, would come back again! Do not miss the squid fries, carpaccio, the wings or the Gambas! Everything was delicious! 🤘
Osamil has a great vibe, even better food and drinks topped off with the best customer service.Bartenders are attentive and make the drinks quickly. The K-Town SideKar was my drink of choice for the night. Served up with an order of the Soy & Garlic wings and one round of the Salt & Pepper, it was perfection. The wings are some of the best I have had in awhile. I would come back just to eat more of those.Thank you Sam and staff for the food & drinks. I will be back soon!
Always a pleasure to dine here ~ the restaurant feels upscale, service is great and food is decent. This is more of a Korean fusion type of cuisine.
Such a nice Korean restaurant for small and big gatherings. My friend and I ordered the kimchi fried rice with medium rare steak and Johnson Tang (Budae Jiggae). The fried rice is super flavorful with a little burnt aroma and the steak is cooked right on point. The Jiggae is quite a big serving and also tasty with a strong cheesy flavor. Their signature cocktails are a nice refreshing addition to the heavy food! Would totally come again and try other dishes:)PS: Remember to reserve a seat beforehand because it is quite popular!
Best food I’ve had in a really long time! Plates are mostly all shareable. Party of 2 got 3 dishes and we had leftovers to take home. Oden tang is delicious, kimchi fried rice with steak is a must, & the potato pancake is very good with the spicy aioli. Make sure to make a reservation to get seated quickly, but they also accept walk ins
Amazing food. Great space.
This place is GREAT.Came here after a friend recommended it. A relatively new and hip Korean restaurant serving up dishes with a twist. The service here is great and the food comes relatively quick. Its also well priced (for Manhattan) especially for the portion size.I love the decor here. Its a clean space and opens up to the kitchen so you get to see and be near the action, if you choose. I heard drinks here are great as well, but personally havent tried any.WINNERSWe got the seafood tteaotboki and it was my favorite dish. Its seafood in a rich tomato-y sauce with fried mozzarella (whats not to like?). The fried chicken here is also a winner. Truly the epitome of what Korean fried chicken can be. Get the soy garlic and you wont be disappointed. Also tried the beef tartare which was good! But less good than the other two dishes.LOSERSNone! Loved everything hereWill be back to have dinner here again. Could be my new go-to spot for Korean food.
One of the best restaurants/bar in K-town. All staff is super super friendly. Awesome food and great drinks. One of the only place you can find both good sake and cocktail together. Try to hang out at the counter so you can see how your drinks are made! Always a long line so be sure to make reservations.
Delicious food, attentive staff, cool spot! Will come again!
Brought a friend here to celebrate her bday. Everything was delicious. I especially loved the short rib skewer and the seafood rosé tokbokki, which was creamy and addictive. They have $14 cocktails for their HH so im excited to go back and try more foods / cocktails.
Their sweet potato fries and rose tteokbokki are AMAZING!
The place has a modern wood-accented aesthetic that evokes Asian design elements but not obviously so. The service was friendly and helpful and the cocktail menu was clearly carefully curated and very delicious. We had the kimchi rice with steak which was not spicy or particularly strong on kimchi flavor but very flavorful, and the fried chicken (an entire bird, deep fried, with slaw, pickled radish, and spicy and sweet/soy sauce). This was truly excellent. I definitely would recommend! Part of a wave of truly creative and consistently good modern Korean food in Manhattan.
Unfortunately didnt have the best experience for my birthday dinner date. I was taken aback by how condescending/rude the man who answers phone calls was (who I later found was a host guiding people to their seats). Service was spotty; my bulgogi order got misunderstood as tteokbokki, which I wish I kept, because the resulting bulgogi was like a salty tteokgalbi. The pork shank was surprisingly dry under the layer of greasy fat and the uni bibimbap/Na-bee cocktail were the saving graces of the night. Osamil has a great atmosphere but personally fell flat.
Great shareables and salad at a ktown gastropub. Flank steak had really good texture and flavor
Food was amazing! Cocktails were a failure :/ but ambience and food made it up. :)
Flaky service but very good food. Sweet potato fries, bulgogi and fried chicken are are excellent. Portion sizes are a bit confusing with some tiny dishes and some massive dishes so go with a group order a few things and order more if you need. Dollar oysters for happy hour until 7. Skip the cocktails.
One of my newest obsession, Osamil is one of my goto places in K-Town. The restaurant is intimate, lively, and fast-paced, but the food is worth the reservations.I recommend the wings for your appetizer 🔥For a main to share with upto 4 people get the Korean Market Fried Chicken with the Kimchi Fried Rice. The chicken is juicy, tender, and filled with flavor. Have you ever had a fried rotisserie chicken? It’s amazing! They also have great selection of signature cocktails and wine.Make sure you get a reservation.
Atmosphere and drinks, great! but when you r told u have to leave in 1 hr and half when u check in, totally kills the mood. food was ok. NOT WOW. drinks were great!!!
Great place for groups. They have good food and drinks option. Great for sharing!
I came here twice, one time for drinking, one time for dinner. All had great time. Regarding the price, drinks are average but food is on the pricy side.✨My favorite dish was the raw beef. The flavor was great, and the portion was good.🍲The army’s soup was also a good choice for ppl wanna be full! Their flavor was pretty unique and rich. It was different from the ones you have in normal places. I personally don’t like to order this outside (since I can cook by myself) but their version is worth to try.🦐Raw shrimp was delicious as well. But it was a pricy one.🍹Drinks we’re good too.
