We had a corporate summer party here and had a blast. Views of Times Square from the outdoor space were amazing. Bar was great and they whipped up some amazing cocktails for us. Food was excellent. Will be back for more of the views and the cocktails.

We had a mostly pleasant dining experience here. The view of Times Square was amazing as expected and they accommodated my request for a window table directly facing Times Square. The food was also surprisingly good. Prices are reasonable given the location and the ambience of the place — $80 including tips for an appetizer, two mains, drinks, and dessert. Service was friendly but not particularly speedy and there was a mix-up with one of our orders.

Staff was so friendly and pleasant to chat with. The views are spectacular. The food was delicious. We celebrated my daughters 10th birthday and stayed at the hotel. She loved the ice cream here! Looking forward to another visit.

Worst cocktail in the city. Weak pour. OVERPRICED. Slower than molasses. Beautiful view but for the price it is a real rip off. Explains why a full hotel has only a couple of people at the bar. Did I mention that the drinks were bad? I mean to tasted like mix with almost no pour of the alcohol. So disappointed in such a great hotel.

Quiet little spot with a great view and delicious cocktails.

Disappointing at best. At initial impression - the atmosphere was interesting. The interest faded quickly when I realized how disorganized the restaurant was. There was no clear place to visit to get seated, and the reserved tables were not clearly marked - so that even with reservations, someone was sitting at our table and had to be moved prior to us being seated.The chili chicken bites for appetizers were delicious, and by far the best part of the meal. The lobster mac & cheese had maybe two or three pieces of lobster in the whole bowl, and was not made well. The short ribs were actually very good, although nothing to write home about.Halfway through dinner, another party was seated at the table next to us - or rather - basically on top of us. They were sitting so close to us we could have shared their meals. This was extremely uncomfortable.We only saw our waiter to place our orders - he never checked in again after that - and never offered us a dessert menu - which, despite dinner, I really wanted to try to cheesecake.I wouldnt recommend this restaurant. The Brooklyn Diner is around the corner and the food is 100x better.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was the best decision we ever had! Great views, great food, great waiter and we were seated just in the perfect spot that we felt special on this day. Totally worth it!

Great ambiance and service but limited menu. the reason why I didn’t give 5 stars in that you can’t order food if you’re outside to see the view only drinks and the price is quite high.

I chose this place for the view - not expecting much from the food. However, I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised with their French Toast. Super delectable. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Great spot for brunch or lunch with a magnificent view.

I have visited the Supernova on several occasions for both lunch and dinner. I even brought a class of 30 students there. The manager, Johnny and his wait staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The events manager Kelitta is supersweet, helpful and patient. Both the adult meals and the childrens meals were excellent. We cant wait to go back! The view is amazing as well. There is a view anywhere you sit. I highly recommend this restaurant. A huge thank you to the management!

Made reservations for 7 o’clock, didn’t receive our menues until 10 minutes in of being seated. We waited an hour to get our food. Guests that came in before us received their food before us. Talked to the manager about the awful service, refused to give us any type of discount. Only offered a free desert or drink for the poor service. Even when we declined the offer he still refused to give us anything else. The venue and food is great, the service is just very poor.

Good restaurant with a great view of Times Square. I got the grilled swordfish dinner, a gluten free option, and it was incredibly delicious. The kids meals had very big portions and mine didnt finish theirs. We all enjoyed walking on their terrace that looks out to Times Square.It is part of the Novotel hotel.

If I could give it zero stars I would. I made a reservation in advance to celebrate a friends birthday and requested that we get front window view of Times Square given the fact that it was a special celebration and we were visiting NY for the weekend. When we were greeted, the waiter had no idea about our reservation, he did not ask my name or reason of reservation. He only asked if we were 4 in total and looked around and picked a random table for us. I expressed to him that we requested a table near the window and he looked at me with annoyance and responded with an attitude thats near the window. I thought his answer was absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. He then offered the table to another party and walked away with them. We stood there lost without help, until a lady asked if were ok. We explained the situation and they said they couldnt do anything about our table being taken. There was another table available and we asked if we could take it and they responded, no, it is reserved. Long story short. We waited for our table for an hour, our server took forever to take our order, the appetizers were better than the entrees. Definitely, not worth paying for. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. About 30-40 mins after being seated, the table that was available was given to someone else, we could have been done dining by that time. It was a total mess. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. The only person who cared enough to help was Vanessa.

This is probably was my best New Year’s Eve ever! I love the ambiance, the appetizer selection is impeccable to say the least and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is perfect.The NYPD close the streets early and people camp very early.Times Square is fantastic to see the tall buildings, TV screens and to be a part of something that many people dream about.At midnight the ball drops and a little firework starts! This view is just so beautiful that you forget how weak you are.

This review is for Supernovas New Years Eve Party 2018 which I attended. They hold this event every year. I just realized there are not too many reviews online about this party, so I have decided to write this review to give everyone a better idea of what to expect when they book the Supernova Balldrop Party. This party is hosted by the Novotel hotel.First, Ill tell you about my expectations for this party and then Ill talk about what I experienced after actually attending it. After watching and reading this partys promotional material, I was expecting this event to be spectacular. From what I read on their promotional material, I expected that I would be guaranteed a direct view of the balldrop in Times Square. I was also expecting the viewing area to be heated because the tickets said that if I select option 4, I would be in a heated east side patio.Second, let me tell you about what actually happened. The management and security were not very friendly. The view, for me and my friend who came with me was non existent and definitely not direct. There were too many people crammed into a very tight space and it was almost impossible to see over them to view the actual ball drop in Time Square. As a result, I missed the ball drop (pictures attached to this review). Also, it was freezing cold in the patio. Even though, there were two small heaters in the East Patio, they were along the edges far away and definitely not enough to heat the entire patio.I am not saying everything was bad at this party. People were definitely dressed up spectacularly. Most people were there to be seen. Almost everyone was classy (except the couple of people who threw up all over the dance floor towards the end of the night, and this one drunk girl who had to be carried out of there passed out on this one guys shoulder). However, all the stuff about people getting a guaranteed, direct view, heated patios and spectacular views is false advertising on the organizers part.In conclusion, the advertisements for this party are a big scam. Its a bait and switch.They just want to cram as many people as possible into a very tight space. This party was way overpriced, and even though I have not yet mentioned how bad the food was above, it needs to be said here--the food was horrible. This party is all hype, and empty promises, but no actual delivery. It definitely is not worth the $599, $699 or the $899 they charge per person for Option 4. Please people, be smart and do not waste your time and money going to this party.

Excellent selection of draught beers, and spirits. Brilliant service from our bar staff, especially Yajaira who was engaging and informative on a wide range of subjects including American holidays, local eateries, and craft breweries. Five stars for service despite disappointing weather. Cheers!

Breakfast is ok nothing spectacular. One should always be ready to queue up for an average 15 minutes before given a table. The ushers are lazy. Look for Ivan the waiter bilingual French/English. He is a great fella.

This stands out as one of the worst customer experiences ive ever had. we felt disrespected from the moment we walked in; every interaction was like pulling teeth and the food wasnt even that good. bottom line, if you want friendly service, go somewhere else

This review is for the Sky Deck. It is a decent rooftop but I dont think it is good enough to be charging $12 per draft beer. Very expensive drinks, regular cocktails are ~$20, the place is not classy or nice enough to be charging that kind of prices.

I went here for breakfast and the food was delicious. 4 stars because even though the view was great and the food was good the service wasn’t all that great. The servers didn’t know what to recommend and weren’t familiar with the dishes.

Terrible service!! Waited for 15 min to be seated, then 30 min for server to come to our table. She finally took our order, then never returned with even our drinks. Walked out after 30 min and went elsewhere. The patrons next to us heard us complaining and said there experience was horrendous as well.

We booked the place for our anniversary dinner before going to a broadway show as the location was ideal and the view over Times Square was supposed to be awesome. Our table had no view even though we’d requested it specifically. The staff didn’t seem to give a rip... The service was ok at best and we saw other tables being ignored. I gave it 4 stars only because my swordfish was absolutely awesome. My wife’s pesto pasta was good too.

When dialing the provided number I’m taking to a completely different business that tells me that they have not even heard of supernova, so I’m befuddled and frustrated after spending quite some time looking for a restaurant. I feel I completely just wasted my limited time.

A Great little gem for a meal just before a show. Gluten free options. Great burger and fries. Try the chocolate ice cream for dessert! Its dark rich! Mmmmm

Horrible experience nice looking place you can see nyc view but we made reservations they told us to wait till 12:00 to be served we waited we notice that a couple of people came in they got served first we was there before them they got water and coffee and yet we haven’t gotServed we ask if some one is going to serve us and he ignored us never again first and last time ever going there

You feel like at train station... not cozy atmosphere at all. Food didnt deliver, understaffed.. in two words : tourist trap. not recommended at all.

The place is beautiful and has a great view. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The service was average and the food was good but not great. The drinks were awesome and made strong with great flavor. If you want a great view of Times Square this is the place to go. Unfortunately, if its on New Years eve, it can cost you $11, 000 plus for 3 people if you want a table.

Just arrived from DC. Bell staff kind and attentive. Arrived too early to check in so they seated us in the restaurant where we dined on appetizers and coffee. Had Lobster Rolls and Meatballs.Very pretty hotel. Ultra modern and a bit noisy. Lovely bar a great place to meet friends.

Great location if you are seeing a show and want a pretty view. The food was bland and nothing special. Service was lacking. Our server didnt say much more to us then take our orders and give us our check. A smile would have been nice or some friendly conversation. It really made us feel like just another tip and nothing more.

Amazing views of Times Square and the Empire State building!

Its a good place if you want to say youve done a rooftop bar/restaurant. It was a little confusing to find, which could be my fault. The restaurant and bar are in the same area as the lobby and general sitting room of the hotel its in. The restaurant side is clean, and a medium size layout. I ordered the Pesto because of the reviews but didnt care for it much. My friends got the burgers and they seemed to like them. Its more restaurant than bar, with an upscale air to it. Theres also a nice view of the city streets if you go outside.

$27 for a palm size of salmon and potatoes? Prices are too expensive for little food. Not the best customer service. Got a cocktail..$17.... tasted like water and Vodka.Venue is amazing, great view but the food and the service brings it all the way down. Surely not coming again nor recommending it. You’re in the middle of Manhattan, step it up!

Located inside a very cool hotel. The food was outstanding and the prices were lower than I expected (~12 appetizers and ~30 entrees). The view of Time Square (even from inside the restaurant) is amazing.

From start to finish, this was by far our least favorite dining experience while in NYC this past weekend. Finding the restaurant was rather confusing and then once we found where to go, there was not anyone at reception to check us in or direct us to our table. After milling around for several minutes, we asked a server who informed us that the host would be back shortly. The host came out, told us that our table was not ready and that we could take a seat at the bar. By this time, we are 30 minutes past our reservation time. We were finally shown to our table at nearly 9:00. What a HUGE disappointment! When researching places to eat/drink prior to our trip, we saw Supernova and immediately fell in love with the view; Unfortunately, the table we were given was shoved in a dark corner with a giant column blocking any possible view of Times Square. We sat and sat and sat some more until we finally had to go and locate someone to come and take our drink order. We are from a busy metropolitan city, we know that sometimes the rush gets crazy and it may take a while to get your order in, but this place had maybe 5 other tables of patrons, they were not super slammed by any means and definitely not so much that they couldn’t at least get a drink order going. After ordering drinks, we continued to sit for at least another 20 minutes before our very rude server returned to take our dinner order. We order dinner; NY strip (medium) fries and mac-n-cheese. Our server brought out our steak and fries, but no macaroni, we asked about the mac-n-cheese and he told us it was still being cooked…no big deal, it happens. Before we get a chance to ask for steak knives he had already walked away. So, we sat with steak that we couldn’t eat (unless we wanted to eat with our fingers). He reemerges from the back and we request a steak knife. You would have thought that we had just asked for his first-born child as he seemed incredibly put off that we would ask for a steak knife to cut our steak with… How dare we?! I cut into my steak and it is rare, like barely cooked rare. By this time our steak is cold, our fries are cold, our drinks are empty, and our frustrations are mounting. Rather than ask the server to have the steak recooked we ate the cold, under cooked steak and fries. After we finished, our mac-n-cheese came out. We thought, well at least this will be hot as it just came out of the oven (according to our server), WRONG! The entire dish, less the very top, was ice cold. At this point we realize that they were not still cooking our mac-n-cheese, our server forgot to put the order in and then tried to blame the kitchen. I typically never write reviews, and if I do, I usually try to only write positive ones. Unfortunately, I don’t have a single positive to say about Supernova. Save yourself the frustration and find a different location for a rooftop dining experience.

I was recently here for a private event and its a beautiful venue. The decor and the view are super appealing. The service and the drinks not so much. They didnt have enough staff on hand making the wait time a pain. Also I wasnt impressed with my $16 margarita that came with a tab that included a 15% tip that I didnt notice until I tipped 15% over that. So basically I paid $21 for a drink that wasnt all that great. I didnt try the food so I cant rate that part of it. The wraparound outdoor patio has views of Times Square so a visit in the summer for one drink might be fun if youre visiting or you want to impress someone...

One Star for the restaurant Supernova. Never would have expected to be treated like that in a high end hotel restaurant.Got told by one servicer to go find a seat and someone will be with us. Then to get told to move from where we chose to sit because it was for a table of 4 and 2 people could not sit there. And then to watch the staff point at us and talk about us. Asked for the drink menu, then got told if we had actually waited to be seated then the menu would have been at the table.Never again staying here.

Great service from security personnel named Jim. Very professional. The bartender Victor is awesome. Very professional. He refused to serve my friend who is drunk an additional drink. I like that. Shaushanna very beautiful and attentive.

Food was good. But the service was terrible. We had reservations by the window and they didn’t sit us there. Didn’t even bother looking up our reservation. While we ate the table by the window was empty and they wouldn’t accommodate us. Amanda was rude and Very unprofessional. I wouldn’t go back there again. It ruined the last day of our trip.

The food was good but service was terrible!!!! Came here for my fiancé’s birthday to have dinner and the whole affair took over 3 hours! Our server took forever to come to the table and even when he took our orders, he would take ages to return to us. Our appetizers were not served until 45 mins of us placing the order. The drink orders came about 20 minutes after we ordered.

With a little bit more effort the food could be really good but was acceptable at best. Views however are amazing.

Met two friends here after work to go over some things and the service was horrible. Im patient and easygoing but this place was notably awful. Despite the fact that it was pretty dead we had to to flag down the waiter every time we needed something and the staff seemed completely unorganized. I was embarrassed because Id recommended it to my friends as an option but the experience was SO bad we made jokes about it.

Great atmosphere at the SuperNova bar and Restaurant. The scents, the view and the drinks are titillating. The bartenders are friendly too. The staff is pleasant. The lavender cucumber mohito is to die for.

Supernova was OK. Food was a bit pretencius with fancy names but to be honest wasnt something spectacular for the price we paid. What you do pay for is the view. You can go there and get some drinks while you enjoy the view of timesquare rushing lights over night.

The view is great, but the food is not even close to the best in new York and is very pricey. Id pay 45.00 for a salad and some chicken in New York for such an incredible view, but I think its reasonable to expect it not to be dry and bland.

It is all right. Since I stay in Novotel NYC frequently, I do have drinks, business meetings, and occasional meals, like breakfast there. Typical Manhattan hotel bar, with uneven service, and overpriced. Do like their peach martini though!

Nice location but the food was overpriced for just ok quality. This is mostly due to the fact that the hotel is located on a high tourist area and is very close to times square so they can get away with the high prices. For me the price wouldnt be a problem if the food was excellent to match it.

Had our Company Christmas party there,service was Friendly, they even had live entertainment and a DJ,food was good and drinks were top shelf.

Like other reviewers have said the atmosphere of this place is pretty cool. However, the service is terrible and the food is subpar. It is very disorganized and hard to figure out where to go. We asked if we could sit outside to eat and they said yes. When we finally found a place to sit they brought us some menus, but the menus are abbreviated when you sit outside. To use the full dinner menu you must sit inside. When we did finally go inside to sit and eat I had to walk up and ask somebody to seat us. When we sat down the waiter showed up and seemed very disinterested in us being there and that continued throughout the whole night. We ordered the New York strip and salmon. The steak was okay I asked for it medium rare and it was a mixture of rare to medium rare. The fries they serve with the steak were cold when they came out and not very good. The salmon was overcooked and flavorless. Full disclosure though my wife is pregnant and asked for them to make sure the salmon was cooked. I cook salmon at home all the time and never have issues with it being done and still juicy. I also ordered a glass of Merlot and that was good. So with two entrees and a glass of wine the meal ticket was a little over $80. A nice waiter named Caesar came in during the middle of our meal and took over service. He at least seemed to care and tried to take care of us. Overall though the service and attention to detail left a lot to be desired. I would not recommend that anyone eat here ever.

Good food service was slow

Confusing layout and atmosphere. A nice dining area, bordered by an outdoor patio. It took us a while to find how to get to the restaurant, which is just a handful of dining tables that feel completely out of place in the corner of a nightclub. Our reservation was at 8pm, and we were grateful to have the best seat in the house!! But, it was the only table with the unobstructed view of Times Square, unless you were on the patio, which was partially closed for a private event at the time. Other diners stared past us as we ate, trying to get a glimpse of the view they had clearly come to see. As the sun set, a very rowdy crowd began rolling in, drinking and partying on the patio, and a live DJ was trying to hype those closest to the dance floor, which drained out any chance of us having a dinner conversation. The food was just okay. We paid $45 for two people, including tip, for a burger and veggie wrap with waters to drink only. The wait staff seemed to not notice the dining section at all. We sat without a water refill throughout the meal, because waiters did not come by to check in whatsoever. I felt bad for the other dinners (older couples or parents with children) who obviously didnt expect a meal in a nightclub. We are pretty chill and easy- going, but it was clear that other diners were grumpy. The hotel should remove the dining section and replace with pub seating, with more tables among the glassline. Or, maybe the dining setting should close before the place turns into a nightclub.

The worst service Ive EVERRRRRR experienced.

Due to unfortunate circumstances we missed our dinner reservation. We totally understand that the table should be given up to others whom where waiting. The part that was disgusting was how rudely we were treated. The hostess was off the charts rude and should not be in customer service. She said you missed your reservation and never offered to place us on a list for another table. Meanwhile we are trying to find another reservation nearby (travelling with 2 grandmas in their 70s and my 7 year old daughter whom is starving at this point) , I over heard Ruddy rude miss better than everyone offer another couple an option to sit on the lounge side and order drinks and snacks with no wait. So I get back in line and she walks away pretends to be busy working. I can plainly see her on her cell phone. I make eye contact with a young gentleman and ask him the details about the lounge before we seat ourselves. I ask for her name to report to management, and he says he is the manger. He never asked details or spoke to the young lady. He offered a heartless apology. If I hadn’t been in the situation I was in, I would have found another place. However, 7 year old starvation won and kept my cool. We ended up having a wonderful server that was extremely nice and went above and beyond. I would give her 5 stars. She didn’t know the situation and treated us with respect. As for the other 2, karma will get them. I hope they grew up and learn how to treat people with respect. Their mother’s would be ashamed and I’m sure their supervisors as well!

Beautiful place, I didnt stay but I went twice for breakfast, very good price and great variety at breakfast, without stopping to see the terrace and take some nice photos.The attention is impeccable, they strive to serve you well and help you.

Absolutely unskilled, disorganized waiters (my child received 2 orange juices from two different waiters while we only ordered one), average food (beans from the chicken dish not hulled), no more French wine available, the waiter almost gets offended when we tell him that the wine is corked...Only the view of Timesquare is worth keeping, for the rest, it is a passable copy to review.

I can only rate the terrace facing Times Square. You can access it without problems without being a customer of the Hotel.

This place is located in the Novotel hotel in New York in Times Square.The restaurant presents itself in a truly spectacular way, there is a lounge bar where you can decide only to drink but also an area in which to eat and there is also a terrace from which you can see the whole of Times Square from above.Given the location and the atmosphere of the place, I thought the prices would be very high, but instead you spend around $30 per person to eat there, which seems completely fair given the location.The food, for me as an Italian, isnt crazy, in the sense that there is nothing truly exceptional, but I spent 1 week in New York eating really badly and this was one of the few places where I ate decently .I absolutely recommend
