This Starbucks is usually very crowded, likely due to its proximity to the NYU campus. It almost feels like a monopoly since there aren’t many other cafes nearby. However, that doesn’t excuse the unprofessional service I experienced. I ordered a tea, which should be as simple as adding hot water to a cup with a tea bag. Unfortunately, my order was forgotten at first, and when I reminded the staff, they quickly made it but left the tea bag’s string and tag in the cup. Now, I have to drink it with the paper tag and string floating in my cup. Definitely not the experience you’d expect!
Rude staff. Went on a very slow summer day and they missed the Grubhub order. It was fine with me but when reminded the barrister was rude and impatient (they were not making any coffee!). Ordered a plain regular latte and they put some syrup in it and it was absolutely horrible. My second time there and will be my last time. Shame on Starbucks. Will never go there.
Do not come to this store! The staff here are extremely rude. I ordered the same item that usually costs me $6.4 at other locations, but here it was $10.7. When I asked for a cup of hot water, they charged me an additional 1.19, even though hot water is free at other stores. They also don’t accept customized orders. I can normally add cold foam to hot drinks at other Starbucks, but the manager here said NO. There are other Starbucks nearby, so I highly recommend avoiding this one.
A pretty decent Starbucks. Keep in mind that it is takeout only, as there are no seats. The inside is immaculate and the service is both friendly and timely, even though it can get busy. They accept NYU Dining Dollars here as well which is very convenient. Overall, would recommend.
I asked for a cup of iced water and they asked for 1.20 🤣 i asked why and they said this is not the normal starbucks it is THE NYU starbucks and that’s why they need to charge for the water too…??? im pretty sure the New York State Senate Bill 2023-S2981 requires food establishments to provide free tap water upon request. 💀💀💀💀
I was disappointed with my last visit to Starbucks. The customer service did not live up to my expectations. I hope the company can pay more attention to staff training in the future to ensure a more pleasant experience for all customers.
Starbucks coffee at the West 4th Street shop is usually good and sometimes noteworthy but the service needs help. Baristas sometimes give customers a hard time or dont deal straight.
Quick and convenient Starbucks location. Staff is super nice!
Super rude. It’s Sunday morning, not busy at all. I ordered on phone and wanted to pick it up when it showed ready. I went to the counter for mobile pickup. The staff there ignored me when I stood there waiting for service. After 15 seconds, the woman two steps away from the counter finally came and oh god she was sooooo rude. She accused me of picking up the beverage that wasn’t ready and demanded me to leave the counter. Then don’t say my drink was ready before you started to make it! The following staff was also unprofessional. Very bad service
Better to go a normal starbucks, with nicer and more professional employees.
I would call myself a Starbucks snob. I pass 99% of coffee shops / cafes to get to a Starbucks in order to get my drink. This is the first time that Ive felt compelled to write a review.Ive been to this location a few times in the past few weeks and cant say enough wonderful things about it. Yes, lines are long, but they go by so fast you dont even feel it. Additionally, the staff has to be the most friendliest, polite, attentive and dedicated group of employees that Ive ever encountered. They are always smiling and giving that extra that you dont find as much anymore. I would recommend this location to everyone. If you are looking to see what high quality service looks like, just come here and experience this for yourself.Thank you all at this location for understanding what customer service is and how to deliver it to each and every customer.Thank you for smiling and making what appears that each customer experience is unique and special. I know that the bar has been set to the highest in cafe experiences for me and I know that it will be for you! Corporate should come done here and give these employees the true congratulations for not filling a job, but doing the most incredible customer service that would match the level of any business owner.
Cashier in first shift on 11/21 got mad at me because I said my order and forgot to say iced. When I saw she was beginning to write on a hot cup, I immediately said oh Im so sorry, can it be iced please, and she groaned and angrily grabbed the other cup and asked anything else? with a huge attitude. I handed her a panini and she threw it to the other counter (where they toast them). Thats where I drew the line, its completely unprofessional and rude to just throw someones food in front of them. This is a very hectic location with so many students coming in, which usually causes the staff to get stressed (understandably so), but when I came in it was 7:40 a.m, they had just opened and there was no one in line when I ordered so it was very upsetting to be treated so poorly. Some of the staff here are welcoming and great, but many times Ive been treated like a bother instead of a customer.Unless youre on a meal plan and using your dining dollars, save yourself the hassle and go to the Starbucks on University or Broadway.
Worst Starbucks ever. They cant even make the simplest of drinks like iced coffee with milk properly. They mess up the quantity, type of milk used. And this has happened with almost every order here. Students are forced to go here because it accepts dining dollars and its the only Starbucks that is open a little late and close to the library. Please avoid as much as you can.
One of the worst starbucks, which is pretty crazy. Lines are always very long but sometimes it will go quick while other times you will just stand in the same spot for a long time. Customer service is sometimes there sometimes isn’t. Very inconsistent. If you are going to be bad, just be bad. Pick a side.
They werent selling any type of coffee but hot and they cant heat up a sandwich even tho they have a microwave and cant use it because its unplugged...SO PLUG IT BACK INBut they didnt. They had abt 30 of the same cups *not durable at all.
Very rude staff! Never seen anything like this!
I would rather give no star if I had the choice. This is the worst Starbucks Ive been to. When I ordered, I said a small pink drink with no ice please and then I got a drink with full of ice. I thought maybe that person didnt tell her, so I said Excuse me, I think I ordered no ice. Then she glanced at me and said You think? and just poured the ice then returned to me, while there was only half of the drink left in the cup. She told me this is what I supposed to get if I ordred no ice. :)No wonder so many bad comments here. This is impairing customer loyalty of Starbucks.
Rude staff. Make sure you do not forget anything when ordering. The spot has great potential. The drink tasted ok.
Always go out of my way to get my coffee at this specific location. Spacious and clean, the staff is quick and it’s sweet that Lania always remembers my order! I come here every day and look forward to chatting with Roni who always gets my drink exactly the way it should be. Consistently awesome service is what makes me come back to this Starbucks on the daily.
Store hours says open till 10pm.Its 9:44pm on Sep. 2nd, 2023, but doors are locked and employees are cleaning up inside.Just wanted to get a hot matcha.
You have no place to sit, they do not allow you to attempt to sit anywhere, they charge for water and water cups. Go to a different Starbucks that allows you to not deal with unreasonable rules.
Went in to purchase a cup,and the baristas was super sweet and patient with me as I loaded my gift card.
Really bad, don’t waste your time here when there’s a million cute family-run shops in a single block radius for a better experience and a better price
While my post probably won’t change anything as people will come anyway, I must say this is probably the worst services I have ever received at a Starbucks. I was here 11/07/2021 around 8:30AM ordering. The male barista was making fun of the accent of the customer in front me, which is terribly rude and unacceptable. NYC is such a diverse city, and no group should feel superior to other groups. When I was ordering my sandwich, the barista was very impatient and condescending; when my sandwich was ready, he shouted very loud at me to tell me my sandwich is ready even though there were not many people. While I understand it might be disappointing for him to still work as a Starbucks barista at the age of nearly 30, and that he might had a really, really bad Sunday morning, such attitude is shameless and disgusting. He might have enjoyed that brief moment of having some power over others which might rare for him, and I was not even that mad afterwards since that might have made him feel better about himself. However, I really wish no other customers will ever have to face such a unbelievably unprofessional and rude attitude that’s almost laughable. To the barista, if you are reading this, I do wish you could look at yourself and do better. All the best.
Bought the pink pink just nowNo taste at all and i want light ice, the staff give me extra ice🙄
This place offers the worst service ever. As an Asian, I experienced a racist server. I should have asked what her name was, but there was a black female server who frowned upon me when I simply asked for more water in my empty plastic cup. Other servers were also very impolite and unfriendly and seemed somewhat irritated or something for some reason. This is my very first time to write a google review in my life because I couldnt help it after this terrible thing happened to me just now.
One of the worst Starbucks Ive ever been to. Makes no effort to accommodate its customers in terms of quality of coffee/service/place. Also absurd that the NYU students dont get discounts for the already overpriced coffee. Has business only because its at the heart of NYU, and because most NYU students can comfortably afford several Starbucks per day, and for thoses reasons only.
This place has the worst service ever. The line took forever and when I got served the lady was very rude and kept gossiping to her co worker while halfway serving me, they were all on their phones even tho it was so busy
Worst starbucks experience of my whole life. The customer service was horrible. The attitude of the people was the worst. Saturday morning brunch was ruined. Female counterlady reluctantly ordered. Female barista continuously questioned my order. Male barista rudely asked Are you sure in a mocking and haughty manner when i confirmed my request with them. Normally Starbucks have the best customer service, but not this one. If you dont want to be greeted by eyes of hatred and condescending attitude, DO NOT COME HERE. Starbucks should seriously work on the service training if they still want customers.
This Starbucks is the absolute worst Starbucks in the entire chain. You often have to wait at least 20 minutes for a drink that will most likely be incorrectly made. The staff are usually very condescending and dismissive, often blaming you for their mixups. I often order from Tapingo before class...if it says one time estimate, triple it and this is a more accurate amount of time you can expect to wait for your drink. If you have a dietary restriction (like I do), you will have to write in the notes on the app what this restriction is. After this being mixed up for about the 5th time, I spoke to the manager who very rudely told me that they dont even read the comments. What if I had a severe food allergy? Thats an easy way to send somebody to the hospital. If you insist upon Starbucks, youre far better off walking two blocks to another location where the ambience is much cleaner and friendly, and you can expect much more reasonable staff who take the time to get orders correct.
Probably the worst Starbucks Ive ever been to. I usually dont say this but the staff really should be switched out. I ordered a large ice tea so I was suprised to find a small cup with my name on it. When I politely told the guy about the mistake he looked me dead in the eye and said You get what you pay for. Absolutely disgusting do NOT come here. This starbucks also likes to disrespect its customers with their bathroom policy where you HAVE to leave your ID in order to get the key. Is something going to be done about this situation?????
Not terrible for a Starbucks. The lines are really long in between classes, you need to get a key (attached to a massive chain basket) for the restroom, and dont expect to get a seat ever. However, if youre an NYU student, its convenient to campus and there are classrooms accessible in the basement (with their own bathrooms). The place has the benefit of accepting NYU Campus cash if youre into that kind of stuff.
This is an unusual Starbucks, its privately owned, which means they have horrible service and they dont care if you like it or not.Do not ask for whole milk, bottle of ice, or even just a small separate cup, they ask for extra charge. cashier doesnt even look at you, no greeting, no nothing, just ask for your money. terrible experience.
Poor service and condescending employee. A rude male cashier with glasses pales in comparison to other employees. After an extended period of time waiting for my food, it was brought to me cold. Very unappetizing. I am unsatisfied.
There are two more Starbucks nearby, just go to one of those. I am an NYU student and I drink at least one cup of coffee everyday and most of the time, I buy it from one of the 3 Starbucks shops around the campus area. I thought Starbucks is famous for delivering the exact same taste all over the world but whenever I buy my coffee from this particular Starbucks, it tastes so bitter and stale. And honestly I didn’t even know I could separate good coffee from bad until here.
If I could rate this place 1 star again if I could. Waited in front of the register for about 5 minutes with three baristas standing right in front of me with not even a be with you in a second im just... Then Frnie was very rude to me in taking my order (giving me attitude the entire time after he decided to notice me and take my order after 5 min of not acknowledging me. Terribly run location.
Expect a super long wait because of its proximity to NYU. Does not honor Starbucks loyalty drink coupon because it is owned by NYU. Does not have scanners for phone loyalty card, so cashiers have to manually punch in the numbers. Oven is rarely turned on, so you wont get sandwiches heated. Pastries are commonly stale. Trenta cups are usually out of stock.I still go here because its across the street from Stern business school.
It doesn’t even deserve one star. The staff today(Nov.24@4pm.) is terribly rude and laidback. If you don’t want to work today, go home please. And since grande Flat white has 3 shots, which I cannot bare, so I asked for customized 2 shots. But after I drank it, my heart rate suddenly increased. It was obviously the staff didn’t take it seriously.
Very rude service. Asked for my regular order, which I know the name and price of, and was rudely corrected while they tried to up charge my drink. Absurd for a Starbucks experience. Ive loved all my experiences outside of this store
Today I have experienced at that place rudeness and impoliteness. That starbucks doesn’t care oat milk, which is super unusual because all starbucks are carrying that type of milk- that one no🤷🏼♀️ I politely asked for other coffee, because the one my friend got me had to be with some other type of milk- in that case soy (but no-one said its soy with vanilla which is sooo sweet). When I asked the guy if I can have other coffee because no-one said that milk its soy vanilla, what he said? “You have to buy other one!” Super rude, unprofessional and just bad bad human reaction! I asked for a manager which helped me- so thanks for that. That worker- very unprofessionall👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
The lines are ALWAYS long and the baristas are rude/ get your order wrong a lot of times. This could be a nice Starbucks given its ample space, close proximity to NYU, etc., but the service in general makes it a mediocre place at best.
I literally feel bad for everyone working here. They seem like they are under so much pressure and are totally miserable. They ignore people to their faces. Complain to each other about customers. The place itself is dirty. NYU should take better care of Fayes name.
Jeffrey was super kind & treated me with the utmost respect. He made me feel welcome with a smile and also remembered my order. He’s on it!
Pretty bad for sure. Sluggish team on the line--sad, no energy, slow. The latte was good, but the egg white sandwich was a disaster. I like the idea that each part is heated separately, but the turkey bacon was slapped to the side and the English muffin was under toasted. I guess this is what NYU expects for its students. The rest of the university is just as bad.
It’s ridiculous to see that the staff wrote and pronounced your name incorrectly, making you wait for 20+ minutes, and in the end gave you the wrong thing, and blamed you for not responding to their notifications. How could I know it’s for me when you were yelling a wrong name and something I didn’t order?By the way, the staff shouldn’t make their own abbreviations for the products, because the others wouldn’t know what it refers to. For example, I ordered Blueberry Scone, and the staff wrote BSC on the bag, while when they asked me to pick it up, the other stuff gave me a Sausage Biscuit, which is what she called BSC.Worst Starbucks ever. Don’t waste your time here.
Nothing screams NY like baristas yelling at you for wanting to order coffee. If you come here don’t even make wye contact. You’ll awake the beast. Oh and per miss Pink Hair you’re a “moron if you order mobile”.
Service is incredibly slow. Only good thing about this place is that NYU students can use dining dollars, but if youre not an NYU student youre better off going to other Starbucks nearby.
The female staff worked there today is really rude and unprofessional. She re fused to scan my QR code to earn stars. Then they give me a drink which is obviously made to someone else, becuase they finish the drink even when I didnt finish order. There is someone else‘s name on the cup. Never saw someone like this in other Starbucks
Starbucks at NYU really really is disgusting simply because the employees always have attitudes and think they are doing a favor by taking drink orders. They are very rude and dont have any clue on how to make drinks such as starbucks markets. And as far as I am concerned, Starbucks policy for drinks is that: if the drink isnt right, they remake it for you for a free of charge, BUT clearly here at NYU starbucks location its a disaster simply because they argue back on the fact that they cant remake it and they will charge full price even if they screw up making the drink. This place is very unprofessional and they need to teach their employees customer service and mannerism.. This is the last time I spend my money here at this location.
Really not a fan for this place. Baristas are nice but those who take orders can be ride sometimes. And it doesnt give you free drinks hen you have collected enough stars as a gold card member
The guys at this location are very friendly and courteous, also very precise with the coffee requested.
Extremely rude for no reason. Employees need better customer service skills or no job requiring interacting with customers.
All their drinks are watery. Cant taste anything. Worst starbucks ever and also super long line. Takes at least 30min to get ur order. Just go to the one at Astor Pl
Staff is not communicative. Ordered off of the mobile app and they were out of items I had bought. I decided to do an exchange but the young man just ended up giving me a gift card and didn’t plug anything into the computer to tell me if I owed money or if the gift card amount was even a fair amount.
I hate this starbucks they never get a single order right and run around like a bunch of headless chickens back there. the only reason people go there is because it’s the only one that takes dining dollars
The young woman who served me was warm, funny, and fast, which mattered because I was hurrying to get to a meeting! Brava!
Long lines, but its pretty big by Starbucks standards. Ive never had trouble finding a seat. Food and drinks are consistent with other locations.
No seats. They have removed all the seats. It is huge place with grab and go situation.
I’ve always had good experiences ! The workers are fast and always willing to remake drinks.
Severely understaffed and at a pretty crowded location. Long lines not worth the wait. Not a “real” Starbucks- it’s like the ones in B&N. There’s no free WiFi and they don’t do free refills. The only thing going for it is that it’s very large.
Took 30 minutes to get my drink and it was only like half filled and warm (it was an iced mocha)
I judge a starbucks shop by their Americano and the one I had here was the weakest and blandest cup I have ever had. Do not reccomend. They also charge a dollar for water.
Another reminder of why you should hate unions as a consumerLike 6 employees standing around doing nothingRude as hellFight back - dont spend money here
No restroom
Several things. First, the girl that made my coffee got it all wrong and when I asked her to fix it her attitude was bad. (I guess she was having bad day). Then they took forever to make one coffee and at the end was not made right as well (see picture, supposed to be a mocha cookie crumble). Also, there is no sign outside so is a little hard to see it.
Always study in here, lots of students around. Gets pretty busy from about 11-4pm, but they handle it quite well. It’s a good starbucks with a view over to the park
Need to update their times on google! i went around 9 and it was not open
Worst Starbucks ever. Long lines and takes forever to give you drinks. Almost forgot about me. Was talking to each other rather than concentrating on work.
People here are just being ridiculous, its a Starbucks. Would be nice if it had seating
So rude
A place of disgrace. Not the first time the cashers/barristas have shown me a humiliating attitude. Dont come if you still want respect.
Ugh.
Your staff is not good and not listen the customer properly. And staff behaviour is roodlyYour staff is not know how to deal with customerVery bad service
No wifi (only NYU wifi is here), staff try to ignore you, treat you poorly. Very rude staff. Absolute disgrace.
Fake Starbucks.. be warned!!!! Employees are extremely rude. Not your standard Starbucks service. Asked for a PEN, anything to make the difference between the coffees. The employee said they don’t have a pen or marker. And then told me I should not ask for those type of things. Will never return.
I wasn’t able to scan my rewards here. I don’t understand why it’s a Starbucks.
Beware that they charge for water!!! I’ve never seen this at other starbucks so this was pretty disappointing
DONT SELL DRINKS WITH NO COMPLETE INGREDIENTS! And just a sorry? I want my refund lol
Im a macchiato and you a latte what about you mocha its a Cafe
Why does it say its open at 8am but you all are closed!! This is not the only location having this issue!! Fix your google times!!!
I don’t know any about “No Free Cup ,you have to pay “is mean....even I ordered a drink....it’s so mean to me
The staff are good and there is a lot of space in this Starbucks. Plenty of space for groups to meet up!
They literally do not have anything other than hot tea and coffee...... Every time I ask about chocolate croissant, there would be a NO. WE DONT HAVE THAT.
2-3 baristas trying to make hundreds of orders at once. This was never going to work. Severely understaffed, long wait times. Closer to the TSA than to Starbucks.
Worst Starbuck I‘ve ever been. A few staff are sooooo rude. I will never be there anymore. Really dont understand their hiring process.
Avoid at any cost. Worst Starbucks
Consistently dirty environment, bad staff attitude and very poor service when drinks go missing
The other reviews cover it, extremely rude service. While I was ordering (a small hot americano so nothing out of the ordinary) the cashier audible sighed in annoyance and said “oh my god” when I didn’t specify hot immediately. Note, this was before my order was done being taken so there was no remaking or a delay…Reading the other reviews made me feel better. It really is just this place.
Worst starbucks ever! Bad service and coffee; if there was 0 stars, I would give 0 stars.
Nice location, not official Starbucks so no internet unless you are an NYU student
WORST service and tastes ever
You cannot beat the view. Other than that, its your average big Starbucks.
There is a crazy hobo who is very loud and he goes there everyday. He can be very annoying.
Very efficient! Great job to whoever leading this team.
Good meeting spot near several transit lines and shopping. Sometimes a bit crowded.
So bring your own cup is no more. At least not here. Other locations have figured out how to handle them but not here. So the girl insists I have to buy a paper cup. Except they don’t have paper cups in grande. Didn’t buy anything. Won’t be back either.
Typical Starbucks in new York but feels more fresh since nyu is 1 min away
Staff were nowhere to be found, waited around for a few minutes before leaving
Staff are very rude. I would walk far and choose other Starbucks.
Staff was super rude and condescending. Do not come here.
Worst starbucks ever visited! Derrick K and the cashier lady have serious attitude problems. No friendly atmosphere. Everyone who works here hate their jobs as if they are in slavery. Harsh but true.
Rude staff!!!!
THE RUDEST people on earth. I am an ex Starbucks partner (a busy nyc Starbucks too) so it’s so clear that they simply don’t know how to do basic things such as making drinks correctly and don’t even do the bare minimum for customers. They are so rude every single time, there’s only 1 or 2 nice people. The lady with red hair is ridiculous and has yelled at me, and another person stared at me and then was unnecessarily rude after I told them they made my drink wrong. I get having a bad day and I know from personal experience that Starbucks is a very emotionally and physically exhausting job, but being super rude to strangers and students is ridiculous. They go out of their way to be rude. People are spending their own money on this and I’m not asking for them to be nice but just for them to not be RUDE. The amount of times they’ve ruined my day with their attitude is ridiculous. Also why do I have to stand in line for a MOBILE ORDER that defeats the point of it being MOBILE it’s just a normal order at that point.
Love it here
People here are really rude, I couldnt find one single person that was nice or at least had a smile on the face
Nice space and I ordered a hot chili mocha, which was good.
Great space but poor/slow service and no wifi!
Probably one of the worst Starbucks in the world. Baristas are rude!
Bigger than others, fast service. Free water if youre thirsty!
I don’t know if corportate made a new button on the machines or something so the employees are accidentally adding these adjustments to my drink but I have ordered a caramel Frappuccino on two separate occasions and they gave it to me with no caramel syrup pumps (doesn’t taste like caramel), no caramel syrup drizzle, and no whip cream. The first time I thought it was a weird fluke but now that it’s happened twice there must be something going on. I rarely even go so there’s not even room for this much error… To be honest I’m not going to let it upset me that much because I will just stop going to Starbucks but someone should probably fix this…
They’re not actually Starbucks.
I accidentally ordered a seasonal item on Grubhub but they replaced it with another item! (Please ignore the refund request as I sent it in before I was informed aboyt the substitution). The workers are usually friendly and the drinks are good quality as well.
This is the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been to. They wouldn’t accept my Starbucks card, would not give me an extra cup, and were incredibly rude.
Terrible service and no place to sit.
Their card readers are outdated and do not accept cards with chips.
There is no WiFi here so dont think of coming here to do work.
Derek was extremely rude
Im not a big Starbucks fan, but sometimes its the only coffee around.
Long line, only one person at the register… I ordered a croissant and a drink and was waiting for over 15min. Eventually the lady that was behind me got her order(croissant), and when I asked about mine the employee said ‘you have to come down’ Took me another 3/4 min to finally get my order. Not going back EVER AGAIN. Terrible service. I think they should hire better/nicer/faster ppl. But that was just my experience…
Every time I walk into this Starbucks, the employees are rude and very unhelpful. I don’t know if it’s working with students or they feel overwhelmed by the crowds, but I’d rather walk past this location to go to another because all the employees have severe attitude problems.I walked in today on my way to class. There was no line and it was pretty quite. When I got to the register I was rushed to order. When I ask for further details into a certain product the person taking my order became very annoyed and started trying to guess my order before I could open my mouth to speak. This only created more confusion and annoyance for both parties. When my drink was called the gentleman did not hand me the drink as I reached for it, but slammed it on the counter. I was confused and shocked, as were my friends who stood with me.I have been attending NYU for over a year now and the service has become worse. Management intervention is desperately needed. I will never purchase another product from this location again.
This Starbucks is located near bobst library and stern NYU campus. The ambience and seating is very good for a quick meeting and peaceful study, they also have snacks and regular Starbucks menu. Quick visit for a coffee/tea near W4 area, but there are lot of coffee shops out there. The better part is they got my name correct at this place.
People working here need to CHILL. The angry shouting needs to take a back seat. 🤫
Probably the worst Starbucks Ive been to with regards to rude staff members. I almost went to Dunkin, and thats really saying something. Drinks were fine, felt rushed and didnt taste as good as how other Starbucks locations make them.
Horrible customer service. completely unprofessional and rude.
While ordering for a takeaway drink (because you cannot sit inside this place), the employees have shown very little respect, especially someone whose name is Kevin: he was impatient, rude and even shouted towards the clients at some point. Very disappointed with the experience.
Worst service ever, employees are rude and unhelpful and they’re always out of everything.
Rudest Starbucks encounter ever! Was rung up by Roni and was treated with nothing but sass and they removed their mask while talking to me, proceeded to pull it back up with their hand and didn’t wash their hands before making my drink which they made wrong.... waste of money and ruined my mood. Would recommend a different location.
People working there are not friendly. The got bad attitude
If you are nice, so are they. You get what you give.
A very peculiar Starbucks that offers the full line of reserve coffees in specialty brews.
REALLY rude staff... I bought a reusable cup from here and when I got home and took it out of the bag there was a chunk missing from it. I came back to return it and the barista was so mean and condescending when refusing a return or exchange that I left the store in tears. Seriously, it was like she had something personal against me. She even involved the other women working to discuss how I was probably lying and had damaged the cup myself IN FRONT OF ME. Its convenient to be able to use my dining dollars here, but the staff is so awful that Ill just spend them elsewhere.
I came here Saturday around 12:15 on 10/23/21, and I ordered a drink with almond milk. I was wearing a shirt that read “vegan” and saw the barista put regular milk in it. When she gave it to me I asked if she put almond milk and she gaslighted me into believing it was almond milk. I had a sip and have been sick for the past day. I am severely lactose intolerant. There’s nothing wrong with making a mistake when making a drink but when you purposely lie about it to get back at someone for their beliefs is completely wrong. The attitude of this barista and lying is unacceptable.
The service is suck, the worst Starbucks I have been to !
Very rude and unprofessional employees. Don’t know why they are forced to work there. Please if you don’t like to work there just stay home. You have to listen to customers very carefully and be nice. Is that hard?
I guess you have to be rude and full of attitude to work at this location. Doesn’t even deserve one star
No sitting area and employees are alright
I really love the fact that they employ students first.
As good as any Starbucks...if you dont mind the wait. Unless youre an NYU student looking for a place to spend Dining Dollars, I highly recommend visiting the store at the other end of the park.
The man behind the counter taking my order was INCREDIBLY rude. I usually don’t post reviews, but I’m very disappointed with the service at this location. The particular employee did not want to be at work and it showed. The service seems to be a re-occurring review problem.
Super nice employees! Great coffee!
Horrible service! No ice drink = half of drink in a cup!
Long lines... yes, because it sits at the heart of NYU campus, literally in an NYU building.Customer service... in my experiences, excellent; however, whenever I get to the counter the first question I ALWAYS ask is How are you, I say please, thank you, and call everyone by their names! And I leave a tipThey frequently treat me to free drink and are alway very nice.
A very nice place to relax. The baristas at this particular location are super friendly. Plus even though the line can get insanely long, they are fast moving!
Nice place! I will definitely come back.
They were no help. Wanted to charge for a cup a water. Was told you have to paid for the cup. SAD Here !!!!?? And get better service at Bond & Broadway
Cashier told me dragon drink has no caffeine, here I am shaking and unable to sleep after Starbucks website confirmed it has caffeine
Worst service I’ve ever had from Starbucks
Large Starbucks with high ceilings and a lot of seating. The line can get quite long and the prices are obv Starbucks-like prices. Definitely convenient to anyone that frequents that NYU/Washington Sq area.
Bad and rude customer service. Especially for international students.
They need help its just the sheer volume is over the top dont get me wrong they are pretty quick buts its always a line no matter what time.
Rude workers. I am surprised that I am not the only person who felt so.
I came in to use the restroom and grab a coffee. In order to use said restroom, they asked me for my ID. I don’t think that’s legal but when you have to go... I’m going elsewhere for my mid morning coffee.
I had to wait in line for 20 minutes staring at my grubhub pickup.
I love the size of this store, there is usually seating and tons of outlets. Friendly staff, clean, but one downside. No Wi-Fi!! Major drawback if you are trying to study and dont have a personal network
The reviews here say it all. I was hesitant to come but I had to get a coffee so I thought I would just grab my coffee and go. You immediately start to notice things as you walk inside. Baristas here make the drinks correctly but the policy for paying for a glass of water AND closing the bathroom way before the location itself closes is trash. NYU students above are already being robbed and on top of that they want to charge for water? Go somewhere else! I would not be surprised if they started charging for air next. Go to the Dunkin Donuts down the street, next time I will be going there instead. Dear Starbucks please close this location.
Located of off West 4th Street servicing New York University and the adjoining areas of the Lower East Side. Parking on the Street is available but it fills up fast especially at night and on the weekends. Moderately Clean facilities. Public Restroom. Staff is hit or miss. Credit cards accepted.
The weirdest and meanest store I’ve even seen. No WiFi, strange policy for using restroom mean staff. And even charge me for cup. No wonder it deserve such few star(not stars)
Bright, airy space. Handsome layout. Friendly barista remembers the names and preferences of regulars.
This Starbucks usually is very crowded with NYU students. I would not recommend asking for a complex order at this place, since it may get lost or messed up. There is usually seating, which is nice.
Worst starbucks ever! Bad service, 0% friendly, and they dont even have wifi. I will never come back to this location.
The starbucks that doesnt taste like starbucks. Good thing is they accept nyu student id card
I only used the bathroom and it was flithyas always
Rude workers. I am surprised that I am not the only person who felt so. In my point of view, It is even more pathetic that they are always polite to either female or non-Asian customers. Id rather use Orens or any other coffee shops but this place.
Its ok. Quite a waiting time but not too crazy. Ok customer service.
Rude baristas. Wifi is only for NYU students which sucks. We had to use our hot spots and the person behind the counter practically yelled at us for trying to work here not being NYU students. Sorry bro but I thought I was at a Starbucks in NYC not an exclusive students only club.Never coming back here.
Good coffee but a long line to get it
Casher lady CRISTO and coffee maker JOHN was SUPER SUPER SUPER RUDE. I ordered grande pink drink and casher said just like this with pretty eyes I dont know what it is with rude attitude. I showed the picture but she still said So what? i dont know what it is and i mean what kind of milk??? I thought I was talking with Drunken Queen of Starbucks. After hard ordered, the coffee maker gave me the drink without dried strawberries without any comments. I asked it but he said there are no more so what should I do?! with rude hands attitude and gestures. What? He need to let order person know the info first. Maybe person never did not know the Pink Drink HAVE dried strawberries if he or she ordered first time. I didnt take it. I donated my money for RUDE casher (drunken Queen) Cristo and coffee maker (drunken King) John whose are working for Starbucks in front of NYU. How poor....
They charge a dollar for ice water, even with a purchase. This is the first Starbucks in the world where I have ever experienced this. Im not sure its even allowed by corporate. The lines are interminable and they dont have many staff on hand.Theyre low on stock of basic products like chips and paninis.Didnt find any Wi-Fi.
HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered a large iced caramel macchiato and was told they dont have the cups for iced lattes and when I asked what do you mean, theres one right in front of me and i have never had this issue before I was told that those large iced cups are only used for iced coffee? Im not sure what that even means, and the barista tried to make me feel dumb for not understanding when I have ordered this drink countless times and never had an issue.
Rude baristas, they do not know how to well behave with customers. They behave like working in a royal place even they place a wrong order and prices. After placing wrong order they simply can not tell sorry Cz they think it does not matter if they loss customers, after-all they r Royal employee of royal place . Worst Starbucks in my experience. Never back again in future .
Very good place the personal service amazing
Fast but very large lines
Great environment, sad they are closed.
I was in Washington Square Park with a friend and feeling the urge for a Starbucks, we saw this one and thought how lucky of us. Well, we were so wrong. Went in and the line was super long. It was a bunch of students on the line, and the whole placed was just taken up and occupied by students. I told my friend that we should probably just find another one, since the place was really crowded and the line was long, but she didnt really care.Well, when we finally got to order our drinks, the service was terrible. First, the barista was unfriendly and just plain rude. Second, when they left out the whip cream in my white chocolate mocha (I didnt know that they dont put whip cream if you ask for non-fat milk) and I asked them about it, they didnt even offer to give me the whip cream. Any other Starbucks would have had been conscious and thoughtful enough to at least ask if I still wanted the whip cream. In fact, when I was placing my order, they should have asked me if I wanted the whip cream or not. That aside, the screaming that the server does when she tells people their drink is ready is heinous. I dont know how this Starbucks can be so busy given the utterly bad service and insufferable screams from the counter. I would only come here as a last resort.Horrible service, rude baristas, and animal-like screaming from the counter. Some of the baristas seemed particularly unfriendly to Asian customers. What is up with that? There were a ton of students and the demographics were diverse, but I dont know what the business is with those rude (and borderline racist, I would say) baristas.Seriously, dont come unless your life depends on it.
Charged $1.3 for a cup of water??
They don’t serve puppuccinos. My dog was very upset.
They get your orders wrong and dont remake the drink for you.
Threw away my order
Relaxing atmosphere to work or conduct meetings.
Probably the worst ever Starbucks I have done in my entire life. Long lines. Not friendly. No Restrooms..
They wanted to charge me a dollar to fill my water bottle even with a purchase of a beverage.
Only Starbucks ever (foreign or domestic) to want to charge me $1.09 for any empty paper cup. I like to mix up my milk and cream separately. Nasty and rude barista. Found out they have a license but are not a corporate Sbucks so no need to follow Sbucks philosophy or customer service policy apparently.
Worst staff. My boys want to get snacks. While we was at entrance. One black woman was shouting for no bathroom.
Cool space but its a Starbucks at heart
Offers more speciality Reserve Coffee variety.
1 restroom for the full store. My kid peed on waiting on the line and I couldnt even get there coffee I paid for. Worse experience ever in a coffee store.
No seating very crowded
They requested my ID for using the restroom. Is it general Statbucks policy? Been to many Starbucks branch in many countires, at least 20. Never experienced and never heard of it.
No wifi and no restrooms because they close in an hour. Its 5pm...
Really quite awful. Always understaffed and the baristas are always obviously stressed out by this so they become rude. Tables are frequently dirty and the line often gets very long. With dozens of coffee shops within a five minute block, this is one to be avoided.
Great, spacious location. Located on a college campus so, its pretty quiet as students study there.
Wouldn’t give me free tap water. It was a dollar for literal tap water. So rude
This is right across from NYU buildings. its a busy location and there is usually a line.
Unfortunately, very rude baristas
Barista at this Starbucks are so exceptionally nice
Rude staff especially when asking a question
Love, love this location!!! Excellent staff
Waited forty minutes for a drink after ten minutes in line. Its a Starbucks guys.
The queue often stretches across the cafe. Forget it, go somewhere else.
