Very good coffee and pleasant atmosphere.Decorated accordingly and with taste.
Ive been a customer for a number of years and although the coffee is top notch the young lady they currently have is not very pleasant and extremely moody. Unless of course its someone she likes which she makes quite obvious. I actually look forward to Fridays when the owner is there. Should really think about replacing her.
First time seeing milk steamed in a takeaway cup! Then pouring my 2 shots into the cup! First 70% tastes like milk. Yay.
Italiani..if you want a real espresso go here! Buonissimo! (And finally in a real little coffee cup and not in cardboard cup) Love it!
Best coffee in NYC by far ... All ways great customer service
I liked the vibe of the store and the owner. It felt like your old local coffee shop where the barista knows your name and order. I actually ordered the apple danish and he said he already had one warmed up for a regular customer who comes in at around the time I was there. I ordered a latte and it was good, but the overall experience was great.
After my morning was ruined by Ess-a Bagel sad, frustrated, some may say broken I went to this establishment for a expresso to shake what some may call a life altering experience. To say this is the best expresso and croissant I had would be a under statement this was a gift from above my mood and day was saved by this amazing place. The Lady who works at the establishment is hardworking, gets the New York swag and is one of the most kind people I have ever met. If Carlos Beltran had this expresso the canyon of hero’s in 06 woulda been a non stop party for the New York Mets.
The cutest lady!! She was so sweet and personal and helped us out with the menu! Great spot!
Finally a coffee shop that actually sells good coffee! The smell is great, feels like something in Europe. Totally recommend
Cheap espressos. You get what you pay for. Dont expect more. Good service, friendly staff
You don’t make a latte by overheating milk (steaming it in a take-away cup!) then dumping in a sour espresso. This is like a hundred other coffee shops in NYC. The croissant was ok. The person serving was lovely and efficient so it’s a shame the coffee isn’t better.
Amazingly great coffee. very kind staff.
This place was delightful. I inquired about a cafe and the owner felt obliged. Grasping a large piece of the finest imported chocolate, he seized a sharp knife, cutting thin shavings all over my espresso, melting partially, before finishing off my iced mocha. A common practice at this establishment, I was told. It reminded me of the scene from Goodfellas where the Italian used a razorblade to slice shavings of garlic into the marinara. Velvety and rich, the taste was decadent.
Cute cafe with great coffee selection! The owner knows his stuff and both the coffee and croissants are fresh and delicious!! Super great local place I’d go to over any chain
Cute coffee shop. Mostly a to-go spot with limited seating (a few bar seats). Beautiful interior aesthetic filled with floral designs and a wine assortment. Solid drip coffee (medium/medium dark roast) with mix of chocolate and nutty undertones. Very friendly barista! Drip coffee score: 4/5. Everything else score: 4.25/5. Overall score: 4.15/5.
Really good coffee, thank you!🙏
This cafe was a shelter from the extreem cold. Bam was amazing. Great coffee & friendly service. Bam was our tour adviser as well if not for her recomendation we would not have experienced the subway to Brookly Bridge. A must visit. Linda from Australia.
Delightful little old world espresso shop off of Lex. Worth popping into for a drink or pastry. The world needs more spots like this one
I read all the good reviews and decided to give a shot. I ordered a small latte. It was 4 dollars. Its pretty expensive for the size, but I guess its Manhattan after all. They dont take credit cards for under 10 dollars (major inconvenience!).I got used to Illy coffee on the cruise ship and I really liked it. However, my latte was just bad. It is true that they cater to men. 3 guys before me placed their orders and I saw when barista made their orders, she used ceramic cups and then placed it in the take out cups. For me, she just placed a paper cup right into the machine. Latte was extremely hot, like you can damage your mouth hot! It wasnt smooth at all and required a lot of sugar. I was very disappointed! Especially after I had Latte at Demarco and it was awesome! it was perfect temperature and didnt require sugar. it was just perfect foam and everything. I would never go back. Go to Demarco instead!
They know how to make a single shot espresso here. Which, despite the huge number of places who claim so in NYC, its not an easy feat.
First day coffee was amazing... Second day was awful, milk had gone bad. Male server took orders over us. At first glance, this seemed like such an amazing cafe. Dont be fooled!
Great owner. Great coffee and wine!
Best espresso in the area!
Best coffee in town ! great warm attitude you can grab a bite, tasty..
Great customer service, chocolate cake was amazing, coffee 8/10And the sandwiches are good
The sandwich and coffee were excellent!!
Great coffee. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Nice, cosy joint to have a morning coffee.
Nice long walk to visit this place to find it closed within posted business hours.
Great coffee and chocolate croissants. Extra points for the two sweet girls behind the counter!
I’ve had some bad coffees before but this one was down there with the worst. Milk steamed too hot in a cardboard takeout cup. Bitter espresso coffee (stale beans?) poured in to the overly hot milk and was then charged a premium price for a latte that I threw in the bin as soon as I tasted it.There are good coffees to be had. Steer clear of this one.
Blueberry lemon pie is amazing and the lattes are delicious
Fantastic toasted ciabattas. The bread and ingredients are great!
Great coffee, tried both espresso and capuccino.
Definitely the best mocha I’ve had outside of Europe!
Wonderful food, pastries, wine. Wonderful people. Thank you so much. Thank you for staying open for us and Jim!
Excellent! Went above and beyond for my parents’ 63rd anniversary. Even stayed open after hours to accommodate us.
It’s closed
What a charming little coffee shop!! Sweet and genuine service and the coffee was delicious. Get a cafe mocha on a chilly day and you wont regret it. I also tried the raspberry shortbread cake and it hit the spot. Will definitely be back, really nice break from a big coffee chain.
Great place. Everything on the menu is great. Tastefully decorated and clean. Honestly one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. Pricing is so fair for the quality, might as well come here for your daily coffee instead of starbucks.
Helped after Son creased. Hope your new week is good,
Really good coffee and great pastries :) definitely check it out if you’re in the area!
I stopped at this café for a quick bite and got the almond croissant… One of the best I’ve had in the city! I didn’t have time to try the coffee but I will definitely make my way back there next time. The person behind the counter was very friendly and sweet, I really appreciated that as well
Cute little place
Stopped in while on vacation in December. Tiny but good. Excellent coffee and service and some food options. Very limited seating. Mostly likely you will be taking your coffee with you.
Great coffee and conversation. Always decorated for the season and with seasonal treats and drinks to match.Dont miss the crepes and crostinis either. Im hard-pressed to point out a better sandwich in midtown than the artichoke crostini, and for the price theres nothing even in the ballpark.Pastries and snacks are available at the counter, quiet classical music is usually playing overhead, and on top of all that, its a small local business thats been in the neighborhood since the mid-90s. Whats not to love?
Excellent thread and good food
Great neighborhood gem. Great quality coffee, incredibly friendly staff, amazing atmosphere. It feels like having a good cup of coffee in a friends living room
Quaint, classy, simple, good quality.
The caffe latte was soo good and smooth, and the almond croissant was tasty. the owner was also really nice!
A Gem of a spot in NYC. Great Espresso and sweet treats + Excellent Fresh Sandwiches (amazing tuna). Stop in for Friendly Service.
Wonderful expresso, great hospitality. Everything just GREAT !!!
Very cute coffee shop as well as the environment. Love the service
Beautiful
Manhattan Espresso Cafe rocks not only the best coffee and espresso in NYC, made with love but also the best ladies behind the counter giving each customer personal attention and making sure they leave with a smile.
Great location great service and coffee.Love the Blueberry Muffins.
Best spiced tea I have found in the city and divine brownies!
Great service and coffee, plus half off pastries in the afternoon!
This is my favorite coffee spot in NYC!!!
Essential
Quaint little coffee shop with nice espresso drinks.
Great coffee ☕
Oh my god this place is so slow the worker there keep talking and talking and not doing her job , I waited more then 10 min for one large coffee with shot of expresso finally the coffee was so cold after they charge me 4.50 for it I went back and give them back the coffee and I told me keep the damn 4.50Waste of time I wish I can give them 0 star terrible idea walking in there
We loved this place!!!
Nice
Best Illy coffee in midtown.
Nice nice nice😉
The location offers the advantage of being quiet, which is rather rare in Manhattan. Dont leave without tasting their macchiato.
Excellent place to drink a good Italian coffee ☕️, excellent cappuccino and cakes for breakfast.
Very friendly and everything very delicious.
Well done Italy 🇮🇹. Forza Illy The Best in the World Caffe.
Very friendly, excellent coffee and cappuccino
