Wonder sandwich, coffee and dessert at this cafe, staff were amazing.My wife left her sunglasses at the table however, is there anyway to contact the store to retrieve these?? There were left there Saturday Nov 30th. It would mean the world if she was able to get these sunglasses back!

Its a nice place for a cozy breakfast. The Café concept is very well done, and as clients, were immersed as soon as we step in. The food is great and the staff is really nice.The manager is a true example of how we should all handle inclusion!I highly recommend it.

Its a bit of a mess, really. Yes, they are trying to do something nice by including people with neurodivergent abilities, but when the coffee comes out cold after waiting for it for almost ten minutes, whats the point of calling it a coffee house at all?

I stopped in before work to grab a coffee and a yoghurt parfait, and was pleasantly surprised in my typical morning midtown rush, to have a lovely conversation with the man behind the counter. It was a nice reminder that in the hustle and bustle of the city, we all need to stop and take in the everyday moments.The cafe employs neuro divergent people. While service might not be the fastest, it honestly was a great way to start the day. The bright yellow walls also uplift the mood.Coffee was also good!

I stoped by this beautiful and cheerful coffee and I will totally recommend it to everyone! I had a cappuccino and it was fantastic, i stayed and drank my coffee while reading, the ambience, people, energy, the mision and core values of the place PLUS the coffee = everything is fantastic and full of love 🦋✨🦋

Completely fraud!!! The baristas dont know how to make latte. Saw her pour the espresso into steamed milk right in front of me. Foam completely separate from coffee.Asked for a small mini bread pudding. The lady at the front told me it was 1.89 while the guy at cashier tried to charge me 3.5 because they don’t have it in the system.They hired a lot of employees but no management at all.

I love the cold brew and iced lattes. The interior is inviting and well designed, and the workers are always so excited to have customers. I appreciate all the care that has gone into this place. I’m a returning customer and look forward to my next visit!

I went to Café Joyeux when it first opened, and got such a warm greeting when I walked in. I love the bright cheery color scheme and the tiled floor is amazing. The coffee and croissant were so good. I also bought and iced cookie for later. The staff was so nice. I like just a splash of half and half in my coffee, and they got it right. It was perfect! Hurray!! I have since been back to taste some of the other breakfast items. Last week I had the croissant bread pudding, which they heated up AND gave me whipped cream for it too. It was so good, I seriously thought about walking back over for more. The staff is kind, appreciative and work hard. Stopping at Café Joyeux on your way to the office is a great way to start the day. I highly recommend going there.

I was attracted by the inviting and cheerful colors of this coffee shop when I walked past by. Upon walking in, I was greeted by multiple staff. They are attentive and warm, such a distinct contrast from the rest of the midtown. The cold brew is good, and the fruit salad is plated in a very cute dish!This place is not super crowded at all, even during lunch hour on a work day. It’s so heartwarming to read the story behind Cafe Joyeux, and I’m so glad step into this place and contribute a little bit to these extraordinary people☺️✨💛

Love the mission of this place! My cappuccino was great, and my friend really loved her breakfast bun. Employees are very helpful and the French style set menus are a great deal. I will be sure to try a breakfast sandwich next time Im there. A big bonus is that they have great outdoor seating, which is so important for other forms of accessibility as COVID is still a big risk in indoor spaces. The bathroom and entrance are wheelchair accessible.

The kind of coffee place employees care about youI dont understand why this coffee shop is not on every “coffee shops you must try in NYC” lists. I dont remember when was the last time I saw kind employees like that. Every time you go in a coffee shop, even more in a huge city like NYC, employees dont care about you (and they dont even look at you). But at Café Joyeux, they TALK TO YOU. Not ONCE, but several times.On top of that, the atmosphere and decoration are great. You can easily work there, free wifi and comfy chairs. And the coffee is also good !I stayed there for 3h, in a Friday morning and it was not busy at all.What a good find ! Im so happy places like that exist.Thank you for this experience, you made my cold and rainy day way more better 🙂.

Love the coffee and the brownie was not too sweet but delicious!I had the homemade lemonade, it was just the perfect sweet and sour lemonade. Not to sweet i loved it.

I strongly caution against coming here… I’ve waited over 20min for a latte and I’m still waiting, god only knows when my food will be ready. Yet I paid over $20…It’s great that this organization… whoever they are… is creating an inclusive work environment. But to my eyes it’s basically two black women who are running the show helping the rest of the staff actually use the cash register, make the drinks, and serve the food. Which to me seems exploitative. Are these two women being paid extra for managing all the differently-abled people??Great in theory, but in reality this seems exploitative.Latte finally arrived.

Enjoyed visit to Café Joyeux. The atmosphere was inviting, coffee and pastries delicious. Impressed by their mission of workplace inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Thanks for being a place that serves up joy and promotes meaningful inclusion! 💛

A great discovery, the food/drink/staff/atmosphere.. the coffee is great.. quiche/sandwiches yummy.. bright, roomy, relaxing.. The adults working are so sweet.. I recommend speaking clearly, smile, and use ‘party’ manners.. Awesome concept that is a success

Non profit coffee shop. 100% of the profits go to the cause. This seems like a no brainier.

What an uplifting experience! Instead of working from home, I now want to work in an atmosphere of positivity. I was so much more productive.I love a great mission based organization to support, and getting a coffee and Wi-Fi fix from a non-profit is a place I want to be.

Great breakfast spot with friendly staff and a clean and welcoming restaurant. Espresso coffees were great!

The concept is a lovely idea and the service was friendly. I wont judge this place as I would a regular NYC spot. However, you should go for the experience of sitting down, etc. versus thinking of this as a typical to-go spot. If you are in a rush it wont be for you. If you like artisanal drip coffee this isnt the place for you (the drip is very French with a lot of roast and not much else). The croissant was solid.

Picked up a Latte & a cappuccino to take back to our nearby hotel. Pretty good! Friendly staff!

The shop is nice and inviting but dont schedule a business meeting here if you dont have more than 30 minutes cause service of receiving drinks/food is SLOW. this place is not efficient for one to hold a business catch up/coffee meeting.

Shout out, to Cafe Joyeux for accessibility and inclusion. As a school counselor and disability rights activist, I was impressed by their service. Nick and his colleagues did an amazing job. I would highly recommend this cafe to everyone.

We absolutely loved our experience at Cafe Joyeux! The moment you step inside you’re greeted by a welcoming environment and even more welcoming staff. Shoutout to Nick, Troy, Safia and Malik! 😉💛💙The brewed coffee was delicious and espresso drinks extremely well made. However, the real show stopper was the food. Our group tried the Bacon Egg & Cheese Bun, Cream Cheese & Salmon Bun, Waldorf Salad, Roasted Veggie Salad and Almond Croissant. All were EXCELLENT.Can’t wait to come back regularly! Would highly recommend stopping into this incredible addition to NYC.

Walked in 6:59AM and a worker said good morning. Was looking at the menu and another worker told me they werent open yet. As I was walking back out I looked at my watch and it said 7AM. I guess they dont open at 7AM as it says on the door. Will never be going back ever again. Rude....

What a sweet place. I didn’t really know what it was about until I walked in and was pleasantly surprised. The staff is awesome, the manager Nils is a damn saint, and the coffee was excellent. Can’t recommend it enough, there is zero sanctimony in this place and 100% heart (and great coffee). Highly recommend!

Really great place for lunch or coffee. Delicious baked goods… Always a really good vibe..

They refuse to give me my coffee in a glass cup, I asked why, they said they dont want to wash the cup… why am I even paying 7 dollars for this cup of coffee… i just wanted to come into a cafe shop and sit down, read, and drink a hot coffee, and having a good experience is so hard. The staffs be talking and laughing soooo loud, and trust me, it’s really really loud. I cannot hear my song even with my earphones in. Cannot read or write. All the customers are quiet or talking quietly, but the staffs are the loudest people. Service not good, coffee not that great neither, and staffs are loud.

Fast and friendly service. The food is excellent. Order the Parisian Sandwich!

Haven’t been to this one yet (will happen very soon) but knowing the concept and the cafes in France, it has to be the best cafe in all NYC ♥️

Great concept and really cute on the inside, but worst hot chocolate I’ve ever had. It was essentially milk with a dash of chocolate flavor, but incredibly bland. Super disappointing

Great place to get a coffee and pastry. Its clean and the staff is very helpful. A staff member came and explained all the pastry offerings and told me about the Joyful Fares option. I got the Lisbon (pastry and a cold or hot drink). Everything was great! I will definitely be back again.

Love the concept of inclusion. Only slight issue is this not a place to go if you’re in a hurry. Enjoy!

The vibes are great and I love this company’s values, but I really really didn’t enjoy the matcha I got here. It hardly had any flavor, it tasted like water. It was $6 and I hate waste so it was kind of painful having to throw it out. I think I’ll try and give this place another shot and test the food+espresso drinks, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend their matcha.

Cheerful cafe. Food is spot on and fairly priced, service is very good, plus you get to support a nonprofit with your $$$.

I love that this coffee shop values hiring staff with disabilities. My almond croissant and latte were absolutely perfect, and I felt very comfortable to sit down, read, and charge my phone. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

We came in in the business hour and there are customers ordering just in front of us. Then they refused to take our order even though we just wanted two coffees. Hard not to think that they refused us based on our skin color

This place is an absolute gem! Lovely place to stop for a meal and work from your laptop. Most importantly they are helping people with various abilities acquire skills and earn a living. Friendly service, delicious food, good coffee and clean bathrooms.

I went twice at Café Joyeux for lunch. The food was delicious, especially the gaspacho and the salmon bun.The service is efficient for a regular work lunch break and the staff is nice!I’ll come back when I can :)

Wonderful space and a great cause

I was passing by today with my daughter and I had just read about this new cafe with an incredible concept. The young employees were so warm in welcoming us and we immediately became so touched and happy to be there. I enjoyed a delicious cappuccino to-go but next time we will sit and have breakfast since everything looked perfect! What an incredible mission worth supporting while enjoying quality food!

I heard about the opening of Café joyeux US from a friend and rushed to check it out. It did not disappoint! The café is located right next to the 51st subway station, is spacious and nicely decorated. Service is good and the staff very friendly and kind. I had a brownie and a chai latte, both delicious. Please consider supporting a place promoting training and employment for people with disabilities!

Great place with an awesome concept!

The worst run coffee shop I have ever been to. Took 15 minutes to grab the croissant off the display plate to hand to me. One person only taking orders (why didn’t they grab the croissant when I ordered it?), one person only making coffee, one person only delivering coffee to customers sitting (why couldn’t they grab croissants?), and one “manager” walking around watching it all.
