Came here on Saturday to eat! Food was great - nice portions and flavor. Brunch is offered on Sundays and soon to be offered on Saturday. Love this spot because of all the games - foosball, connect 4, basketball & much more you can enjoy at this spot.Definitely recommend for the football season for a tailgate!

During my stay at the Moxy, I came across this lounge. I am so glad I did! Super cute, lots of different board and card games, a basketball court. The food was good, decent price. Drinks were very good! They had DJs on both nights I stayed, it was a nice vibe. The staff were all nice, bartenders lively and fun. The general manager Anthony was welcoming and checking in on everyone to make sure they were enjoying their time, while also keeping things running smoothly. Overall a great spot I would definitely go to again! Everyone was in extremely good spirits ✨ 10/10

Such a nice find! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is amazing, drinks are great and the staff is incredibly nice. There are several games patrons can freely play, and some of them were quite unique. Loved the experience and would definitely recommend! ❤️

This is on the 3rd floor of the Moxy hotel. Came here for a date night and got an app (chicken nachos that were okay) and a few cocktails (espresso martini, old fashioned, cabin in the woods & daddy issues). The cocktails are pretty strong, esp the old fashioned. They also have a bunch of board/card games, shuffleboard, skeeball, basketball court, etc. The service was also great and attentive. Would recommend if you’re nearby.

It was a great place for team happy hour. Lots of games and activities to choose from! I wish the happy hour had some options of cocktails since it is a cocktail bar but overall enjoyed it!

This is a fun bar in Manhattans Financial District located on the 3rd floor of the Moxy Hotel. It has a combo bar/co-working vibe which I think is a great way to get all day use of the space. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your familial status), the comfy lounge area that also features an arcade game zone is also a big attraction for the little ones, which the bar staff seem to have no problem allowing during weekday/weekend daytime hours. This can become really distracting when youre trying to enjoy a cocktail with your partner or friends over the loud crashing of huge Jenga blocks, skee-ball or anything else the kids can get their hands on. But then again, if youre in the city with family and you need the kids distracted while having some adult time, then this should be one of your saved places. We were probably there too early as they had DJ equipment set up but no music, so we didnt get to enjoy the night ambience. The drinks were on point and the servers were friendly, although service couldve been a little quicker given the place was relatively empty. We had a few good draft beers and the Lady Luck which was a cucumber infused vodka cocktail that wouldve been even better with a great quality gin. All in all a fun stay that I would repeat.

Great drinks and a cool space to relax. They have board games and free ski ball / Pacman. Really fun. The happy hour is a great deal.

We had a great night celebrating our third anniversary at the Recreation Bar! Jorge was the best bartender— he gave us great recommendations and had us laughing the whole time. We would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. There’s also a half court basketball court which is random but really cool. Nothing but good things to say 🍻

I supposed to give one star but another bartenders were nice, so one rotten fish will make all bad! Im not a tourist but I went to Recreation because my cousins who came from Florida picked this place to meet up. Yes! this bar is very touristy place, that is why one of the bartender just work like a brat and didnt care about being nice to customers. Rude and trashy service that what I can describe. Because most customers wont go back and enjoy their vacation for a short period of time.The bar is at 3 level, has cool decoration, like old radio and books, high ceiling, but not good view because the floor is so low and all buildings around are so tall.Moxys midtown is so much better, if you talk about nice tourist spot.

Man, let me tell you about my epic time at Recreation in the Moxy Hotel. Easy to get to, a block or two from wall street and world trade. Comfy, chill and I thought they mistaken me for a celebrity because the staff and the manager named quay for sure gave me 5 star service and they enjoyed it. Im truly grateful and Im passionately writing this review because my time there was truly amazing! Even the other guest that were working there was cool. Working on my laptop requires some rest for my eyes and during that time I tested my eyes I had so many games to play and an entire indoor basketball court.. amazing, I thought I was working at Google while there.I hope the manager quay and her team see this because they were really amazing on a Sunday! Bless them

Been here many times. New bartender doesn’t know the difference of wines. Charged us for the non happy hour price while we even pointed to the correct happy hour wine on the menu.

My friends and I had a great time here until it was time to get our bills. The bartender knew I was tipsy and tried to rip me off. I was the only one in the group that didn’t get an itemized bill. Luckily my good friend noticed and asked for it. The bartender provided it but with an attitude. She had already tacked on a 20% tip! This place is cool but I won’t be visiting again. Shame on her for trying to take advantage!

The place was ok, mostly went for the ski ball but of course both machines were broken. I ordered the happy hour drinks and they were fine, bartenders were both lovely. The pretzel bites were burnt and had no salt or seasoning. My friends enjoyed their flatbreads as well but the red wine was super bitter and the margarita was too strong to drink.

When it comes to drink this bar is one of the best. The Pisco Colada is just amazing hmmm.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon, hoping for a chill/fun brunch date. There were unsupervised kids running around everywhere (I counted six, and four of them look about 5 or 6 years old). They climbed on things, knocked stuff over, and even stopped the music for a few minutes messing with the Dj equipment. I thought it was going to be a bar with fun energy but the kids running around (and I mean with NO supervision, they were in a separate room from their adults at some point) really killed my vibe. I had one drink (8-bit), it was super sour and just okay. Maybe this place is better at night when there are no kids.

The host was awful yesterday. I booked this place and the reservation was confirmed but they denied us entry one we arrived. They booked two parties but didn’t notify us. The host lied and said they sent us a message when they didn’t. She made it seem like we made a mistake and didn’t even apologize. Terrible experience

This place is a lounge with live music. Lots of young people. If you know what you’re looking for, it’s a decent spot. Dropping two stars because they replace expensive liquor with cheap. The cocktail menu said Hudson Valley Whiskey and Angels Envy would be used and instead they replaced it with old forester. If you know anything about whiskey you know that these are not comparable.

Did a Volo league here for bar games and the bar did an awful job of coordinating times and making the games available to us. Also they overcharged me and after multiple weeks of reminders to refund me, they still have not gotten me the refund. Has potential but extremely poorly run.

Truly awful bar. Terrible slow service. My beer arrived and the glass was only filled to about an inch below the lip of the glass. It was flat and clearly stale. Ordered guacamole and came out on a plate clearly fresh out the dishwasher bc the grocery store chips were soggy from being on a wet plate. A couple next to us ordered a bottle of wine and their empty glasses were brought out also straight from the dishwasher soaking wet. Got scolded for trying to use the skee ball during a “private event” despite no signs. Only came here bc someone was staying here and had a credit, otherwise avoid

Fun bar. Nice to chill and have a drink at after work. Good playlist. Nuzhaat was a great server, took good care of me and saved me from standing in line at the bar while I sat and worked so thanks for that 😅

Fun, fashionable club above the Moxy Hotel. The DJ decks were not in use on the night I attended, but the basketball hoop and fussball table got plenty of use. Good range of original cocktails and craft beers are available, and savoury snacks can be made for your party.

I had the best experience at Recreation with Majed. He was a wonderful server, always being attentive, checking up on us while we were playing games. He made this experience more than what I ever thought it could be. If Majed is my server, I’ll spend all my days here. He made it worthwhile. So funny, so charismatic, I enjoyed myself! Thank you Majed 1000x over!!!

Best place for happy hour down town Newyork Ira on the third floor of the moxy hotel they even have a indoor basket ball court !

Great spot for happy hour/after work drinks! We loved the games and there is always plenty of space so everyone is comfortable. 5 stars in particular for Tyler who was fantastic and really made our night!

Why have I not been here sooner? The bar is brilliant. Outlets at almost every seating area. Games abound if that’s your thing. The skee-ball and shuffleboard tables were a pleasant surprise. Definitely pop in if you need a respite in the area. It’s the perfect book. 3rd floor.

I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment. The service provided by the waiter, Tyra, was overly aggressive. We waited for water for 20 minutes, and before receiving our food, we were pressured to pay upfront, which seemed unnecessary and off-putting. It was disconcerting to be asked to pay before even seeing our food. To add to the disappointment, when my friend inquiring about juice, this Tyra stating, “I AM NOT YOUR WAITER, I WILL NOT GIVE YOU JUICE, ASK SOMEBODY ELSE.” Overall, the service was extremely poor and left a lot to be desired.

The draft cocktails are actually pretty good. Venue wise you wouldnt think youre on a hotel bar, which is either good or not depending on what youre after. We were there on a Thursday night, it was busy enough to be fun but not over crowded. The basketball court was booked for a private event but there are other games to play. These guys are totally into the current NYC 80s vibe, with connect four, Pacman and really cool retro furnishings, done in a modern and not cheesy way.

Went here for a friends birthday. Really great place with fun games like big Jenga, Connect Four, Chess, playing Cards. The Foosball and ping pong table and basketball court were near the bathrooms. I had a great time celebrating with her. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. The DJ was sooooooo lit! She played the best R&B, Hip Hop, Afrobeats among other selections. Overall, nice space. I would considering coming back here.

We made a quick stop here just to rest our legs. Ordered a Sazerac and got really disappointed.. told the bartender. Changed for a glass of red. Was really happy when the bartender then showed up with a new Sazerac and this time like it should look and taste like. 5 star rating for the bartender.. the place itself is good but nothing special.

Event planning here was awful, then I was charge $500 more for the event after we left, with no warning. Drinks took forever to get for our group, and the menu for food is awful and extremely limited. I will never return with our groups ever again.

One of my favorite stops on this trip! If you are a big fan of playing multiple different games while sipping on some awesome cocktails, this is your spot. The service was something compared to what I get at my hometown bar. Josh took care of us the whole time and made us feel like we were the only people in there. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to my friends visiting!

Had to walk out onl our 7pm dinner reservation. When we walked in for dinner, the DJ was blasting at levels not appropriate for the dining service they are promoting online.

This bar is already pretty pricey, and then they still charge an auto service charge on all bills. I can somewhat understand that given all the tourists, but then on the credit card slip, they have a line for gratuity but it doesnt say additional tip or something obvious. Sure, its my job to check the bill more thoroughly, but I personally think its a bit deceiving and is an easy mistake when youre buying for the table and drinking. Easy to think you just spent more than you expected.Other than that, I would say the bar is decent but can be tough to get a game.

I will start off by saying that I always read reviews whenever travelling for restaurants, hotels, etc however I rarely write reviews unless my experience was so horrible that I want to warn others.I felt that I absolutely had to write this review for Recreation because I honestly was super hesitant to go there after reading some seriously bad reviews. The motivation I had to try it out was for my teenage kids who love basketball and were intrigued by this half court inside the restaurant. So I braced myself and went and had zero expectations .. well boy was I so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience!!First of all I emailed them in advance because I wasn’t sure if my teens would be allowed in as I thought it was more of a bar than a restaurant. I received a very professional and helpful email in return explaining that the kids were welcomed and just weren’t allowed to sit at the bar (obviously) so that was perfect.We headed there for a late lunch and from the extremely patient hostess to the lovely, polite and professional waitress and the lounge like decor- the ambiance felt extremely comfortable and fun.The food was tasty, fresh and fairly priced and I also found there was a decent selection of what to eat for a bar.. oh and they have a great coffee machine if you love good coffee!The lounge area was so cozy and eating/drinking there while spending time playing board games, skee ball and of course basketball was such an added bonus!!! My kids met other kids and loved their experience there too.. another bonus!.. so yes!.. I would definitely highly recommend this place to anyone, but especially families with kids (tweens/teens) who can spend some time in a cool fun place with their family while in NYC!!I know that we will definitely go back each time we visit!!

Met friends here for happy hour Saturday night and had a great time. We devoured the food- favorite was the sliders! Our server Nuzhat was very attentive to our group of 10- always checking. Made our visit even better!

Went here last night. The bar service was very unorganized. I gave one bartender my order, but then she never made my drinks. When a different bartender took my order, she still only made one drink that I asked for. Poor service despite not being overwhelmingly busy.Today, I discovered that I was charged twice by the two different bartenders. They don’t even have a number to call to contest this, and you instead have to email them, which I doubt they’ll see. This place is pretty pricey and given all these issues I likely won’t come back.

Fun. Chic. Relaxed. Clean. Games! Excellent bartenders (shout out to Gerald). Fantastic drinks. Even an indoor basketball half court. What more do you want?!?

Not only was this place fun and different, but my date was amazing so all around, this place makes up one of the happiest days of my life, and I am a huge fan. I cannot wait to come back here.First of all, they have a big longe area with a huge skylight. Lots of seating in the form of couches. The natural light component during happy hour was a breath of fresh air. They have an area with vending machine type of food, but its displayed in a fun way. There are lots of outlets everywhere so, conceivably you could come here with your laptop and game in public. They have a basketball court! You can shoot hoops to your hearts content and laugh at the people at Blink fitness next door who are actually exercising but without drinks in their hands. You can play foosball, ping pong, the list goes on.Please come here. You have to experience it for yourself. Its just blocks from the World Trade Center memorial in lower Manhattan.

Came for a friends birthday Saturday night. It was raining and the place wasnt too busy, which meant we got to play the shuffle board and had room to dance. There was a DJ. The bar can get crowded and you will have to wait your turn to get a drink. Overall its a nice spacious place to hangout with a group of friends

Unfriendly staff with bad quality for cocktails and longdrinks. Ran out of their drinks so that only selected ones were served. On the positive side, nice games to cheer up the mood.

Lighting that is a little too bright prevents an even more relaxed atmosphere. There is table football, table tennis, basketball hoop and other games. Anyone who likes an active bar stay will be very satisfied here. Never experienced before and certainly a rarity in this form. Top!

Fantastic! Located on the third floor of the Moxy hotel, a few hundred meters from Ground Zero, it offers a warm and pleasant environment, with a DJ set, play area and armchairs for quieter chats. Also available for the organization of private events. However, being in a hotel the bar closes early, so its ideal for an early evening but after 1am you might have to move elsewhere

The place is very nice and the cocktails are good, but the environment is a bit chilly and not very welcoming.

Everything was very delicious, and the hotel (small) was very cool.
