Porchlight is the perfect blend of Southern comfort and NYC cool, with cozy booths and a back game room that adds to its laid-back vibe. The cocktails are the real star here—creative and potent with a Southern twist. While the food is more snacky than full-on meals, the sugar & spice popcorn and burger are definitely worth trying. It can get a bit crowded and loud, but the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere make it worth a visit.
Editing my original ratings to review. I really loved the ambience and the service was good. The drinks were interesting, but I think some things could be better:1. More food quantity for the price2. I ordered the salty dog drink and it was served in a plastic cup the ones used for water, which was a sad experience. Also for the readers, water is served in a glass cup!So in general, could be better in the customer experience department!P.S. Food and drinks taste really good!
Was there for a private party in the back. The vibe and ambience was appropriate for that part of Chelsea. The food was good and the beer was excellent. I’m planning to go back.
Service was insanely slow. We had to wait over 35 minutes after we finished our apps to even order our mains. The pimento grilled cheese wasn’t even toasted, literally buttery/greasy bread. I don’t think there was even pimento cheese in it. We could only find two very small pieces of pimento so it had no flavor. Tasted like a grilled cheese with American cheese. Our drinks were great! The mushroom sandwich was so good, like how was it just a touch of spice but wasn’t hot. And the hush puppies could make me commit crime. But disappointed in too many things about our experience. we wanted dessert but didn’t trust it would come fast enough to make our plans and we gave ourselves three hours for dinner.
This is great place to meet up for after-work drinks. The atmosphere is lively, hip and just loud enough to be fun, but not too loud to hear anyone. We ordered some snacks to start and larger plates for those who stayed later. A really good option if you’re on the west side.
Had an incredible night at Porchlight. The team was so attentive and friendly (even letting us sit 15 minutes before our reservation), and the drinks and food were tremendous (especially their holiday menu of drinks!). I was also deeply impressed at the service given that there were a ton of Xmas celebrations parties happening concurrently. Really enjoyed Porchlight and would absolutely go back for cocktails and bites/meals.
This place is ideal for after-work drinks, providing a trendy, energetic ambiance that’s lively yet not overly loud, allowing for easy conversation. We kicked things off with some appetizers and later moved on to larger dishes for those who stuck around. If you’re on the west side, it’s an excellent option.
Cool spot, even though currently there is some road work going on outside or something (just makes it look a little less welcoming). Got in early in the day, but just in time for the happy hour, to get off my feet and grab a drink. Order a mint julep, nachos and beer from the hh menu. Everything was okay, NY prices being NY prices, but the cocktail. I was pulling air for 30 sec out of a straw sticking out of a cup of ice, wondering whether they just forgot to put the drink into it. Eventually moved the straw around.. so I got a good 4-5 solid sips out of it before the drink is done sound. If youre going to serve a shot glass worth of drink in a cup of ice to save money, just take the cocktails off your happy hour menu. Otherwise the place is worth checking out.
FOOD/DRINK:1.) Collard Greens & Cheese Dip = Came with toasted baguette & tortilla chips. Yummmm tasted kind of like spinach cheese dip2.) Fried chicken sliders = Pretty yummy as well!I appreciate that they had a pretty wide cocktail drink menu. And a variety of virgin cocktails aka free-spirited drinks.SERVICE:Really great. Always checking in and refilling your water from the pitcher on the table when you can fill it yourself.ATMOSPHERE:Mondays for the live music is the best. Im surprised it wasnt busier, I guess its still a well kept secret. I like that even though theres live music, you can still have a conversation while you enjoy your food and drinks. And the music was a calm folksy guitar and vocalist trio, and it matched the overall vibe of the place. I like the feel of the place in general too, with the rustic and soft lighting. They have random boardgames available too to play, so definitely wouldnt mind bookmarking this in my mind for a future hangout spot. Also looking at the maps now, Im realizing how close it is to Vessel, which would be a nice place to stop by next time. Or if you want to walk closer to the pier for a waterfront stroll.
Great vibe & tunes, spacious unlike many bars around here. Good beer selection and reasonably priced cocktails. Lovely bar staff. Top name restauranteur so try the bar snacks.
Granted, this was the first bar/restaurant that I visited where gratuity was included but I must say the service was scattered. Once I was seated I was greeted by a server who took my order, but after 10 minutes had passed, another server checked in on us and promised to look into the wait. Subsequently yet ANOTHER server provided us with our drinks. About 10 additional minutes passed before the second server checked in -promised to look into the wait AGAIN. When the food finally arrived it was lukewarm at best. For the prices and neighborhood, I expected a much better experience.Attached are the order of biscuits and the clams which were soooo small
The drinks, food , and service there were amazing. The cocktails are great! Jason took excellent care of us.I definitely recommend and plan to return.
Had a great happy hour here with friends. Great cocktails, good food our wonderful server Sean made sure our food and drinks orders were always in so we had a seamless evening. Would definitely come back!
Porchlight is an amazing spot that captures the charm of a cozy camper hangout, making it a cute and appropriate venue for hosting parties or corporate events. The atmosphere is inviting and perfectly suited for a relaxed yet memorable gathering. However, my recent experience was somewhat dampened by the outdated information on their website. We chose Porchlight specifically for the advertised IPA happy hour, only to find out upon arrival that it was no longer available. This led us to have only two beers and a cocktail with a friend before deciding to leave. We ended up going to another place, paying full price, and staying for a couple of hours.Despite this hiccup, Porchlight remains a great place. The vibe is fantastic, and with updated and accurate information, it would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience.
I loved everything about this place except for the service. The waitress we had might have been some of the worst service I’ve ever had in New York. Unfortunately, seemed to just be our bad luck because every other server I saw was super attentive to their tables. Eventually we had to just ask another waiter to get our tab because we had been sitting there for 20 minutes after our plates were gone. Super disappointing because I am always looking for a real southern food restaurant. I would come back for the food, but super bummed about the service.
Porchlight is an interesting place with an outdoor camping like ambiance that blends into an elegant cocktail bar setting. It’s buzzy and a great choice for happy hour. We tried their sharing cocktails - leave of absinthe & ranch water. Great tasting & crowd pleasers for sure. The hot honey chicken slides are delicious! It’s a tad overpriced spot with most cocktails hovering around $20 and even a small bowl of popcorn or potato chips costing $6.Service is top notch & attentive. Worth a visit!
Good for big groups, came for happy hrthey have a dirty vodka martini on the rocks on their happy hr menu and i just have to ask DIRTY WHERE 😭😭 it was NAKEDtasted like a huge shot on ice 😭😭😭 which made for a great tuesday night but guys please ?? am i wrong for this??? like i want my dirty martinis to taste a little briney??? have a little brine color??
Ended up hitting this bar for an afywr party drinks. Staff was extremely friendly and drinks were great.
We ordered a cocktail from the happy hour menu and I couldn’t find any alcohol taste in it, my husband tried it too with the same result. We ended up politely asking the waiter about it, his answer was that “it does have alcohol, I saw the waiter making it, it’s supposed to taste like that”. Honestly, it tasted like a regular plain soda. So either they did forget to add the alcohol as I thought, or their cocktails are just awful.I’d have appreciated that they’d offered to change it for something else or just add a bit more alcohol, but they didn’t do anything, and the waiter wasn’t very friendly with us.
I really enjoyed this place! From the outside it looks like a warehouse but once you get inside there is a rustic feeling to this cute bar/ restaurant. I order a mojito and nachos because I was so hungry after seeing sleep no more a block away. We came in and I had no expectations for the food. I loved the nachos, it has a Smokey cheese and chilly on it with a few veggies. It was really beautifully arranged on the plate. I had expected a mess like they do in other place but it was so pretty I wanted a photo. The mojito was also great. They had places to sit so you felt like you were in a home, bar, or restaurant if you wanted to be. You can pick what area suits you.
Happy Hour was fantastic. Although the menu is limited for happy hour, overall menu is really great.Really enjoyed the service received at the bar.It was surprisingly packed and the atmosphere was wonderful with people spending time with their colleagues, friends etc.I really enjoyed how the bartenders made the drinks, it made me feel like I was witnessing mixology bartending. Definitely felt the drinks were crafted with such care. I cannot remember the name of the bartender that serviced is, but she was wonderful and knowledgeable.
A fantastic cocktail bar with seasonal drinks and excellent small plates. Styled after a ski lodge and the ambiance was perfect.
Cool for the casual corporate event. But they did me dirty, so Im on that type of timing lately.
Great atmosphere for a low key date night or drinks with friends. They have a wide variety of drinks available, and will actually still serve you post 11pm, if you already had a table. Staff was super friendly!
Really liked this place! We had the jerky, biscuits and hush puppies as appetizers and all of us had the Double Trouble Bison Burger, which is just delicious! The atmosphere is great with live music and the staff is very friendly. Will definitively be back here!
Within a gorgeous space is decently priced food thats a reasonable size. Those hush puppies will be a staple of my future visits. Same with the cheddar biscuits and the crispy chicken po boy.
This place is awesome. Lots of little tables everywhere for people to sit and drink/nibble and a nice big bar if you want to sit and chat with the talented bartenders. They made me a proper whiskey sour (pictured below) and the spicy sweet popcorn is delish.I met someone here for a business meeting and I will say after a certain point it got pretty loud for conversation - but by then we were tipsy too so it was a good vibe!
Did not eat just drank here. However my guess is food is solid and plentiful. This is agreat spot to meet and greet friends. Very spacious with an excellent staff . Was there for 3 hours and enjoyed very moment at the bar. Played Gin with my daughter and had a ball. Repeat Great Spot !
Needed relaxed, adult place for after work drinks. Dark, modern/rustic, awesome low key bluegrass band, knowledgeable barkeep. Definitely coming back.
Fun place to hangout on a Saturday night. Love the decor. Love the ambience. Got the regular nachos with cheese and the loaded nachos which were a perfect portion size but was lacking in flavor. But the fresh baked cookies were so good! Definitely recommend those.
Wow. We were here for a private party, and cant say enough good things about the bartenders and the amazing drinks, the food that was constantly being shared that was all fantastic, and the fun venue as a whole.
Good happy hour deal but tbh the cocktails aren’t that great - for example they have a martini that’s weirdly served on the rocks. I ended up switching to bourbon neat. Food is all fried but they don’t have French fries for some reason. It has all of the southern staples on the menu but it was bad southern food so really not worth the calories. The biscuits were dry, jerky was like leather, and they added two random things on our bill. Come here if you’re desperate for a casual happy hour but please skip the food
Great atmosphere, great burger, loved the jerky too. Chill July Monday afternoon with live music. I can understand why its a popular local spot and even attraction for New Yorkers in general.
Fun country style bar. Service was friendly and quick, food was good though the portions were small. Fun spot to grab a drink.
It’s a small food menu but the Crispy Chicken PO Boy was the favourite dish. Had some empanadas too but they were alright. Would need to come back to try the cocktails.
I was with my girlfriend and my friends after a Mets game. My girlfriend (of 5 years) is indecisive and said she wanted nothing when the waiter made their first round. After finding one from the menu that she likes (a sweet, fruit vases drink) I asked the waiter to get that one for her while ordering one for mine. The waiter had the gall to ask her do you actually want that, I wont put it in unless you say yes. Can you believe that? New York native, never experienced that before! Not coming back here lmao!
A well decorated large space rife with interesting cocktails. Great to hang out with any number of friends.Would definitely come again.
First time spending NYE at a bar in NYC and I must say, I had an absolute blast. Porchlight is such a VIBE, the staff was awesome, the food was great, everything was perfection. Can’t wait to create more memories at Porchlight.
Went for a team event. Rented out the back room. Wasn’t a fan of their finger foods and cookies
I dont always venture across town to the west side, but when I do I go to Porchlight and turn all of my money into cocktails. This place is a gem with a little bit of a split personality. The front is dimly lit and a bit louder, the back well-lit and more quiet (with some board games and darts). Ive not met an unfriendly bartender here. About those cocktails though. Theyre weird and quirky and ridiculously good.
Found another gem for an Espresso Martini. Also learned I can add rum but did have an odd after taste but drink still had body so Ill take it.
Awesome cocktail bar with tons of fun drinks. Highly recommend splitting a ranch water pitcher if your with friends.Atmosphere is super cozy and warm. Feels like your at a friends house vs a bar.Highly recommend if your looking for a spot to hang out with friends!
Fun atmosphere and cool vibes and great drinks and small bites
We tried this spot for the first time a few weeks ago for happy hour. It was more crowded than I expected, which to me spoke to the general popularity. We were still able to be served at the bar quickly. The food and cocktails were tasty (I really enjoyed the house-made beef jerky).Lastly, a special shout-out to Heather. She made us feel so welcomed and is a killer behind the bar! Like I said, it was crowded and she was so on top of everything, consistently juggling up to four cocktails at once! Impressive!
Good happy hour prices ($7 - $10). Drinks in general $15 - $20. We went around the holidays and it was packed but the host made room to squeeze us all together with our group and the food, drinks, and ambiance was good.
Fabulous find in up and coming part of west side. Great happy hour cocktails! Queso and hushpuppies delicious!
Good spot for a craft cocktail. The kitchen is also on point. Buffalo burger was off the hook!
Went on a busy Thursday night. Had a great time. Tried the flask of punch, super tarty but I enjoyed it. Love the ambiance.
The Happy Hour experience was fantastic. While the Happy Hour menu is somewhat limited, the overall selection is excellent. The service at the bar was truly enjoyable. Despite being unexpectedly crowded, the atmosphere was delightful, filled with people enjoying time with friends, colleagues, and more.I loved watching the bartenders work their magic—it felt like I was witnessing expert mixology in action. The drinks were clearly crafted with great care. Although I can’t recall the name of the bartender who served us, she was both wonderful and very knowledgeable.
Such a good vibe!!! happy hour 3-7pm and ALL DAY sunday like what ($11 drinks!!) salty dog is surprisingly really good, even as someone who doesn’t love vodka : Dplenty of seating AND board games too damn
Great place to grab drinks in NYC. Very laid back experience. Bartenders made some great drinks.
The atmosphere is very welcoming, the staff are super helpful and drink is amazing. The best place to hangout with friends.
If you’re from the south living in NYC, this is your new favorite spot. The beef jerky, chili, and bbq is all amazing. Highly recommend.
This place is very cool inside. However it was way too expensive for a Cocktail. I think I paid 17.00 a drink. We ordered Nachos too! I did not care for the chips. They were very thick. Our service was very poor. The guy that was suppose to take care of us at our table failed to impress me. I hardly ever saw him. We had to ask the Manager for a second round of drinks. I give this place 1 star
Food and drinks were splendid. We spotted here before an exhibit. Loved the cornbread, sliders, wings and definitely the ambiance. We sat outside, but the inside looked cozy as well. We definitely be back!!
Excellent vibe... Industrial, with surprising live music at pm on a random Monday. Negronis were stiff, whiskey sours were capable, waitress was intimate.
If you’re antisocial like me and forced to pick a place to meet friends, might I suggest the back room at Porchlight. All of the great food and drinks with very few super loud happy people.
Great vibe! Wonderful cocktails and decent happy hour. Get the popcorn! Menu is seasonal. The space is sizeable and though it can get crowded on Fridays, there always seems to be space. No tipping restaurant now too. Sometimes they have a band playing.
Went there last year around this time, had a very pleasant experience. The group I was with was interested in espresso martinis. The bartender let us know that they don’t make espresso, but if we wanted, we could go to the coffee shop next door, get an espresso and he’d make us the drinks. We did just that and the martinis came out incredible! I see that this bar is temporarily closed, I hope it is able to open up again soon!
They dont have much food on the menu but the food was surprisingly good. The music was pretty loud .absolutely its a bar with light menu, overall it was great night here. Money well spent.
Love this place. Super friendly staff. Clientele is hit or miss depending upon your taste in corporate sales bros at happy hour, but the food is excellent and the setting is warm. Well located and just enough out of the way to not be easily found. It’s a non tipping establishment, which does take a little getting use to, but it’s an interesting experiment.
My chicken sandwich and cocktail lunch was very tasty. But the service was standout. Super nice, engaging server offered a nice surprise from the bar as consolation for a broken bone just diagnosed!! Mood-elevating and, I suspect, medicinal!!. Will be back when both arms can dig in for more!
Delicious light bites and a great selection of cocktails to suit any group.Happy hour until 7pm.Super friendly and helpful staff.Make a reservation from Thursday to Saturday since it gets busy.Would recommend the mint Julep ($11 on happy hour) and the punch flask ($5 on happy hour).
I went to Porchlight with an old Army buddy of mine. Although we only had drinks, the hospitality we received was top-notch. The manager was exceptionally accommodating, even taking back a drink that didn’t taste quite right. To top it off, she surprised us with some complimentary Jell-O shots and thanked us for our service. I highly recommend this place for its great atmosphere and exceptional experience. Next time we plan to try the food too!
Great service, good drinks and the food....and Best Beef JERKY in NYC.
Good place. Not too loud for the type of place it is. We had burgers and they were not very good - way way way too dry and not well prepared. However the wedge salad was really delicious. There is a good variety of non alcoholic drinks, which is not easy to find these days.
Nice place! Great selection of cocktails!
Great place. I really like they are tipping included and inside is comfortable. They have a mix of good drafts, cocktails, cans, and bites. Would give it a full five starts if there were a few more food options.
Good date night spot! They have a good happy hour deal on drinks + snacks. Will definitely be coming back!
The lunch all you can drink option was fantastic. The drinks were amazing and specially prepared. The chicken and waffles were probably the best Ive ever had. The waiters were hilarious. Absolutely will return.
The food menu is not available only in summer, although show menu is not available so they only come to eat in summer.
Phenomenal place! Interesting drinks that were so so delicious! I highly recommend the Tommy pickle. It includes pickled beet brine and other goodness. Kate and Nick made the night even better. The staff and atmosphere make this place a must stop destination in New York. Also, did I mention they are the first bar in America to make it a rule for no tipping? All around cold bar, drinks and people. Stop thinking, just go!
I really enjoyed the ambiance of this bar. The drinks were well crafted and the service was great. I had the LI ice tea which was well crafted. Will attend again in the future.
Great cocktails. They were out of some top shelf liquor. The food was amazing. Several awesome vegan options! Great after work vibe.
Sophisticated but fun cocktail bar on far west side. Good happy hour for daytime weekend cocktails.
Fun place with the right friends! Some of the games can be outdated. But we played heads up on our phones and had so much fun! The food limited but really good. Especially the bison burger. Highly recommend it!
Best bar in the area! Get the biscuits.
I have been and tried multiple times to like this place.. because it’s two blocks from where I live. because it seems “cooler” than the typical hell’s kitchen / hudson yards spot. because it’s freakin Danny Meyer.. how could it really be this bad!? but it is. it’s terrible. the ambience is bizarre - too well lit and expensive to be a dive but too disjointed and casual to be a proper establishment. and of course the menu means it’s definitely not a restaurant. which brings me to my next point.. the food.. it is so bad.. and just for a little background - i rarely ever dislike a casual menu. in fact, i live for bar food.. but this was just so gross. nachos are my favorite food and i couldn’t even touch these.and finally. the service. it was just awful.
Theyre a no tip bar which is interesting and means theyre a bit on the pricier side. I cant speak for their food but their drinks are worth the price - delicious, unique, and strong. Their decor is also awesome and their staff is friendly and fun, easily became one of my favorite places to grab a drink.
Mushroom burger and hummus were terrible
Spacious interiors, good for hanging out with a big group. Refreshing selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. I enjoyed the Sour Cherry Rickey flavored soda. I also really appreciated the design details they put into the customized coasters, matches and other decorations around the space.
Just stopped in for a beer after a visit to the warehouse on a hot day. Ambience has an industrial feel to it. Bartender knew his beers. We wanted to get some lunch, but I think he said the kitchen didnt serve the full menu until after 4 PM. Nice afterwork spot or if you are a tourist visiting Hudson Yards, in need of a cold adult beverage, its less than a 10 min walk.
I’m from Atlanta, visiting. Heather made me feel at home. She must be from the south, because how does someone exhibit such charm? I took this place down in my notes in hopes that if I venture back to this bar, she will be there to greet me with a warm attitude and a familiar embrace. If she’s there, ask for her, if she’s not; ask for the next best thing.
The restaurant was good but the service was not good and the serving size is too small. I just paid 20$ for a small-size salad. I thought that salad is just a side salad.
Excellent drinks in a cool atmosphere in a neighborhood that does not currently have a great selection to compete.
Great staff amazing drinks, love the wine selection a
Its a great idea for a bar in NYC, New Orleans cuisine in an industrial styled setting. The food was solid (once it arrived) and they have every detail of the dining experience thought through but their execution came out rather pretentious.
I had the best beer I ever had in my life here. They played only music by rappers from queens. The place feels like it was lifted from another city and placed in Manhattan, just like the rest of manhattan.
Oasis in the middle of a restaurant desert. From Danny Meyer, the only place really worth eating in that area. They often have live music, great service, and good vibe. If youre in that area and feeling like a drink or food, you basically have no other choice. But it should be your choice anyway.
Great drinks and service. No tip establishment so thats different, but good, hopefully, for the employees. Nice after or before Sleep No More just around the corner.
I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)Drinks: Great. Nice wine selection. They also have a nice specialty drink selection. I recommend the Blue Smoke.Food: Great! Its Southern so, you have to have the backyard BBQ! Make you smack your mama good ribs :) Also, try the bison burger.Space: Very large space where the South meets sleek NYC lounge/bar. This place is not only modern, sleek and the sexiest Southern inspired place Ive been in.Scene: Very casual. Conducive to mixing and mingling. Good for get-togethers, afterwork drinks and date night.Crowd: Afterwork scene. Pick-up scene. Mostly a 30s-40s crowd. Mostly suits.Service: Courteous and professional.
First time visiting here, drink was great and the dessert was delightful. Will be coming back to try out some meals.
Nice atmosphere and the cocktails too. Highly recommended.
Southern inspired snack & meal menu with a Stellar draft, bottle & cans Beer Menu along with delicious cocktail recipes, full bar and even some spacious tables for large groups, a variety of other seating & comfy bar stools, etc.
They have board games in the back. Im not sure if you can bring yours but they have a great space for it with lots of lighting. In the bar/restaurant area they have great food. Pricey but I like the bison burger and chicken with egg. The chicken was my favorite. Drinks are also good including the nonalcoholic beverages.
Great custom cocktails and cool atmosphere.
I have to say, AMAZING SERVICE in a well-appointed, well-lit space: serving new American fare and solid cocktails in a lofty, yet intimate space. A surprise win and departure from the normal midtown riffraff. Will def be going back.
Great local bar in a swanky industrial chic old warehouse. Lots of cocktails and good beer. The porterhouse Manhattan was gross, but they did not charge me when I sent it back. Good diversity on the taplist and bottles. Not a lot of choices for food, but some higher end pub grub. The iceberg wedge actually beats the burger (surprising as that may seem). Liked it.
Very nice
Great cocktails at very pleasant neighborhood bar. Service, drinks and snacks were perfect.
Too noisy and industrial. Cocktails are expensive but not good
Fun place for some drinks and food after work or on weekends. Ambiance and service is excellent. No Tips. Yes you read that correctly. Very refreshing.
Awesome atmosphere and great drinks and the beef jerky was so good!!
My local bar. Great atmosphere and drinks.
Had a great time here. The service was amazing, and they do not accept tips! They have an extensive drink menu and nice options to choose from on the menu (the servers are also knowledgeable about the options if you need help choosing one). One other perk is that they have games to play. I would say this is a cozy place. It was fun as a small group.
Pretty good cocktails, especially the blue smoke. Fantastic burger and a nice menu of southern comfort food (including fried frog legs!).
First time here and the cocktails were great, it definitely was crowded but we were served fairly quickly and managed to grab seats at the bar.
Very rude Manager - Michael Shain!!Even one star review is too much for these guys!We were there on Friday night and after spending almost $300 and closing the tab we asked about the time that they will closed which they said 2am but suddenly when we were waiting for our food around 1 am the manager Michael Shain asked us to leave IMPOLITELY and extremely DISRESPECTFUL!!He wasnt afraid to use the F words when he was talking to us!! It was my first and last time going to this place.Ill write to Union Square Hospitality Group to report this behavior!!Michael Shain The manger was the most disrespectful manager which Ive ever seen.I dont recommend this place at all!
Great ambience and fun menu. Definitely pricey and staff could have been friendlier.
Docking one star because it was super busy and it took forever to get my order taken. After that, it took forever to receive my card after making my payment. Solid 10 minutes of trying to get someones attention. The drinks are very cool though, and its a nice space.
Food was great. And the whiskey selection is superb. I always support a company takes good care of their employees.
Club soda costs money here.Club soda should be a human right.
Love this place for lunch and HH. Dinner was not as great, as the drinks we wanted were OOS and the food menu was more limited.
Beer options were pricey in my opinion but a nice place to hang out for a happy hour.
Better for those who drink and enjoy different alcohols. Happy hour is pretty busy. Lunch menu is small and takes awhile
Bison burger was great, only have unsweetened tea and that really sucked for me. great decor and wait staff was on their game.
What a cool place to chill at on the way to Bus pick up! : )
We went to the Porchlight for New Years and we had a great time. Fantastic food and cocktails. Can’t recommend it enough.
Solid vibe and service
Random assortment of foods on the menu. Ordered nachos, would not recommend. The place is just OK.
Amazing atmosphere, food and drinks. I went for a private event and I would definitely go again.
Really limited food choice and they charged me 7 bucks for a lemonade… the waiter was never around so after waiting 20 minutes to try and pay for said over priced lemonade I had to go up to the bar to pay my bill.
Great ambience accompanied with great drinks.
Nice cocktails and spirits list. Cool vibe inside. I will have to come back and try the food.
Great place with great drinks. Ambiance is great.
Great after work place for groups. Varied beer selection and decent food. Check out the games room in the back.
Came during the day on a Sat, not very busy. Great ambian, great pkaylisp, delicious cocktails and a nice beer list.
Had a beer here with my co-workers around 10pm after a holiday at the McKittrick Hotel. Great ambience and quick service with plenty of self-seated tables and chairs.
Superb bar for awesome snacks like their nachos and beer. Danny Meyer always brings out the best, and Porchlight doesn’t miss a beat.
Great atmosphere and drinks! This was a very spacious bar and although a bit crowded, that’s to be expected on a Thursday night. Tried the onion dip which to my unexpecation was more like a hummus spread, so wouldn’t personally recommend that unless you like hummus. And the hot honey chicken sliders were so good! Very extensive drink menu and it’s all categorized, which made it easier to choose a drink based on taste preferences (I.e. fruity, etc.), even though there were a ton of options. Would come again!
Nice drinks, especially the alcohol-free sodas and cocktails. Food was nicely presented, though lacked some taste.
Great cocktails in a really nice ambiance and decor with very friendly staff. Recommend.
This place is a hidden gem and Im kicking myself for not having been here before. We were looking for a chill Saturday with a relaxed brunch (aka no waiting in line or chairs touching each other), and Porchlight was perfect. Its a little bit out of the way and somewhat pricey, but theres plenty of parking nearby and its a short walk from the High Line). The vibe is Southern inspired and they do it right. The drink menu is extensive and you will find something you want, no matter how picky you are - and your drink will be amazing. The food menu is very short (mostly small plates), but everything we had was delicious. Service was fantastic and we will definitely be returning!
Great spot, I need to go again and again to get the full experience
Fantastic selection of interesting cocktails with a kick. Food was very good though portions small.
Cool atmosphere. Good beer selection. Underwhelmed by the new happy hour food selection though
Great bar, free wifi and good beers including Goose Island! Hopefully they will rotate in some Blue Point as well #LocalBeer
Take the firecracker chicken! I loved it 😍
Expensive but loved this bar. The atmosphere was so fun. Their buckets were a little smaller than expected for the price.
Great comfortable atmosphere with very tasty food, burger was great! No tipping is a nice change!
Best atmosphere around. And the tasty comfort food and drinks menu always impresses.
Solid cocktails and solid snacks.
Porchlight is a fun, spot with a great selection of southern inspired cocktails and food. Definitely try the popcorn and the firecracker chicken!
Americasual spot with great atmosphere. Very friendly staff!
Great cocktails and good burgers, also a wonderful venue and good service. Great little bar.
Amazing service, great food and atmosphere. Food menu is simple and delicious.
Super cool bar, more excellence from Danny Meyer. Only complaint is 11th avenue. But I am sure itll be a thing in 10 years.
Good place to hang out. Friendly staff, good vibes. Just missed happy hour. Busy but still got seated.
Drinks were delicious, bar snacks were pretty good, atmosphere was really fun
Poor customer service. We literally waited 10 minutes after we were sat before the server came to greet us.Our glasses were always empty.
Awesome place with awesome cocktails! Will definitely be going back!
I just had the fully loaded nachos and it was so good. Then again so far theres almost nothing I have tried from porchlight. That I did not like yet.
Fun atmosphere, great nachos and amazing cocktails. The Paloma was perfect!
Nice bar, went for happy hour. Not a big cocktail menu for the happy hour and wine wasnt included. Good service from the staff
Friendly staff, especially for a bar that caters to an after-work crowd. The prices may seem high at first, but remember that gratuity is all included.
There was no air conditioning on a very hot day, and so everyone was sweating. The food (particularly the sliders) have a great flavor and good potential, but they are very heavy on the bun-to-meat ratio.
Awesome place, good food, great service!
Could not have asked for better! We hosted a private event of 30 guests at Porchlight. Their team with efficient and organized with all details needed prior to event. Service on a event day could have been given a second waiter, but this did not effect the overall great feedback! I am so thankful for Porchlights team- EXCELLENT VALUE !
Just went for cocktails but they were delicious. Will definitely be back.
Very cool spot to have a private happy hour. Loved the board games and service was spot on.
Was nice up to 40 minutes after we came in and even if the place was empty on a Monday afternoon, we almost got pushed out by one of the staff..there is a strange 40 minutes rule that we didn’t know about. So not a place to relax.
Daiquiris were amazing! The Sunday happy hour isa must! Food was seasoned well and definitely tasty! I would definitely come back for happy hour! I would like to explore more on the menu. Great atmosphere for hanging out with friends for conversation and great drinks
Great food, drink and fun. Also there seems to be a very fancy wine cellar by the restrooms...
Strong drinks, 1-2 will leave you feeling pretty good
This bar had some tasty appetizers, including a smoked cauliflower dip. Fresh raw veggies were paired with a cauliflower puree topped with chili oil.
Good drinks! However, we were sitting in the back and they do not have drink service in the back.
I had an absolutely wonderful time last night. The staff were very attentive and extremely friendly.
Good cocktails, no tipping, games, hand sanitizer by the door and towels in the bathrooms. 10/10 recommending
Great atmosphere... the whole wait staff was amazing!! Big thumbs up 👍
Fun place for drinks and food. Excellent quality all around
Nice bar, but plastering no tipping everywhere is a little tacky. Still a good time
Enjoyed the lively atmosphere as well as their fried oysters and nachos. A little pricey given the small portions however.
Great cocktails and a nice vibe, if you can manage the treck out west.
Good beers, great service, steep prices.
Waiting for drinks over 25 minutes, finishing my food , almost had a dessertServer was great! Bartender very slow!!
Jerkey, Cheddar Biscuits, Hush Puppies, and the Double Trouble Bison Burger were all amazing.
Really great place! Great ambiance and even better cocktails.
Great space, great cocktails, not super crowded. Awesome spot!
Cozy place to hang with friends and collegues, the beer selections is wide.
Great service & even better burgers. Drinks are good too.
Food is awfulNachos was 90% chips onlyNo French friesVery limited vegetarian options
The food was good, they have good beer selection, good drinks, the two bartenders I met were friendly and attentive, and its a chill environment that looks cool. That being said, its way too expensive. $20 for three small sliders and $10 beers is just so Manhattan. I get it. Its midtown Manhattan. Be prepared to pay for it.
Great ambience with knowledgeable staff. Great for meeting friends after work.
Dont go here hungry, and its kind of hard to get to if you take the subway, but the drinks are fun.
5pm on a monday.... very cool spot, great drinks.. my new favorite place...
Festive holiday drinks in a wide open setting. Fun nibbles menu too
Everyone was very nice however I ordered food with too good to go to not let food go to waste and I’m pretty sure they gave me frozen food or something? It was all cold and hard except the hummus, which the hummus was fermenting when I tried to eat it. Tasted sour and prickled my tongue like sauerkraut. They gave me coconut curry that didn’t look prepared at all it looked like I had to cook it myself, and it tasted undercooked. Pita was hard, bread was good once I threw it in the microwave with some water and heated it up.None of this stuff was on their menu when I checked to see what it was cause I wasn’t even sure the hummus was hummus.I threw out everything. Ambiance was nice.
Such great frozen cocktails
Good bar with great bartenders, good music, and nice laid-back feel.
Great artisinal cocktails. They didnt want to leave a pitcher of water for some reason.
Wonderful bar. Great happy hour
Busy but great.
Great vibe. Best mocktails!
Great cocktails, nice ambiance!
Great food- great service- roomy- awesome vibe
Got myself a surprise bag with too good to go. Dont really have a lot of other options in NYC as a student. Spent 5 bucks on a dinner that is supposed to be worth 15 bucks. Got an apple, 0.2lb of cold rice with some fruit and dates in it and 2 small sticks of some weird fish pastry thing. If that meal is worth 15$ yall scamming the tourists. Waiters were friendly, but you cannot be serious and expect a full grown student to have dinner with that stuff man. I spent 5$ on dinner and somehow still managed to get something worth less. Come on man, do better.
Bar staff were very attentive.. Building is very interesting..Maybe slightly expensiive
Nice place for social drinks and nice ambience
One of my favorite bars in all of NYC. Amazing hospitality, top tier cocktails and their Mushroom Sandwich light be the best Sandwich in the entire city!
