We stumbled into this bar when our original pick nearby was too crowded. This is a fairly small and cozy bar that luckily had enough seating on a weeknight for a large group of 6 people.The cocktail menu seemed pretty limited and the drinks were average so it’s not a top pick for me. However, if you’re into their burlesque theme it might be a good spot for you.

The atmosphere is really neat; its fairly limited seating, but they make the best use out of the space. We came on Saturday afternoon and did happy hour drinks. No food served here, but great for a quick drink on your way to dinner or a night cap.

Nice spot for a date, hang, or solo trip. The bar has a cozy atmosphere, great staff, and delicious drinks. Cocktails are great (the evil one!) but there’s also a sweet beer and shot special! Can’t go wrong with the daily happy hour either.The live burlesque shows (every weds & thurs) are produced by the most entertaining hosts, always guaranteed a good time.

We ironically came here just a few hours after our friend sprained her knee, since it’s called Nurse Bettie, for sh**s and giggles. Ended up being such a great choice! Small, intimate, but fun place to hangout and grab a drink with friends, or maybe go on a date for a more quiet experience. Great music the entire time. Drinks were good and strong. We’d definitely come back and do recommend others try it!

We had a Feeld day chatting with Jaster and listening to his music. He’s a great bartender, but when he gets too confident (and he will) you can take him down a notch simply by pretending his drinks are bad. Pro tip: he’s especially proud of his espresso martinis.

This used to be one of my goto spots when I lived in LES. Was such a cool little bar, amazing vibe that reflected LES. Went there last week after almost 2 years and it’s really lost its charm, the new bartender didn’t even take my order for a good 10min as I sat at their small bar and it was empty-ish for a Tuesday night. And the cocktails sadly are tired and lazily made. Another LES gem falls

Great little neighborhood bar with a fun pin-up theme. The happy hour (including weekends) was great, the bartender was fantastic, and the music was on point!Seating is limited so it’s best for smaller groups.

If you want to be treated like absolute garbage this is the place for you! We had a large group of women so made a booking. From the moment we walked in the door we were met with incredibly rude staff. We have been in the city for 20+ years and have never had this bad of service. The drinks are fine at best. We asked politely for drinks, said thank you, could not have been kinder, and continued to get treated poorly. Not just poor service but confrontationally rude treatment. Also we booked for 12 and got a couch that sat 3. We werent even bothered by that as we are friends and easy but the staff acted so put out that we took any space. Dont bother.

An undeniably wonderful place to support on a Wednesday night and stay. The staff is inviting, and the music 🎶 was absolutely incredibly diverse. Its a fun, smart place to mingle with the mosaic that is New York. Cabaret on certain nights.

Went there with low expectations and turned out to be one of the best bars we have ever been too. The owner/ bar tender really cares to make you feel at home. Intimate setting and outstanding service with great music.

Love this bar. Relaxed atmosphere, wonderfully made cocktails. Almost don’t want to post this as it’s one of my favorite bars in the city and I don’t want everyone knowing about it! But it deserves to be known for it’s fantastic staff and a non pretentious, down to earth vibe. You can get food from the Mexican next door if you’re hungry, which is a personal fav thing of mine to do while drinking margaritas.

I came on a Sunday to meet a blind date. The place is super small but it works. So much pinup art but not tacky. The bartender is super friendly and the music was great 80s rock. The drinks were amazingly cheap. I had 6 or 7 Guinness and my date had a few speciality drinks. The bill was about 40 or 50 bucks which is a great price especially in this area.

Come on a Wednesday or Thursday for the burlesque show. I havent been on a Thursday but the show on Wednesday is usually hilarious and a lot of fun. Drinks arent too pricey at $6 for a beer and they usually have a couple decent ones on tap. They also usually do a late night happy hour during/after the show. Bartenders arent very friendly but theyre pretty quick with getting drinks. Its a small but fun place.

A friend and I went to see their burlesque show. The MC was very entertaining and the performers were gorgeous. Bartenders got through the patrons in a timely manner. Limited seating. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I stopped in here last Saturday when visiting the city to catch up with some friends around midnight. There was still room to grab a seat and people watch. Alot of fun and a great DJ with the music just at the right volume to catch up with friends and still bust a move. I recommend this over most places in the East Village when it starts to get just a little too busy, this is where you want to be.

I came to this small quaint bar with a group of people. I did not pay the check, so I did not see the menu or the prices. There is living room furniture and soda shop stools at the bar. We had a drink similar to a mojito with a cucumber in it. It was very refreshing and unique. The bar puts on burlesque shows on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Very unique. I would come here with friends. The service is excellent.

Small, chill, old school, and cozy place with plenty of burlesque paintings hanging on the wall. They have burlesque dancers here performing here free on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The bartender here was pretty cool, he was telling us about the history of the neighborhood and the prohibition gangsters that use to run it.

I almost dont want to review this to give up the goods. This place is one of the best hole-in-the-wall bars in NYC. A nearly everlasting happy hour, cozy interior, and weekly burlesque shows make this a truly one-of-a-kind spot. Highly recommended.

What a great bar. The decor was great. The Saturday night happy hour was great. $5 tap bear and one free drink from yelp. The bar is small and cozy. The bar tender was very nice. I highly recommend it.

Cute spot! Went here for burlesque (we went on the wrong night for that) and ended up staying and being charmed by the space. Attentive staff and at least on Monday night, a killer DJ mixing 80s oldies with more modern fare.

Nurse Bettie is a tiny bar with a tiny stage but with so much energy its explosive. Ive gone here for years and can never say Ive ever had a bad time. The drinks will take care of you and cure what ails you treating boredom, dullness. Side effects include good memories and fun times along with burlesque and other great shows.

I often go here on Wednesdays for the free late-night burlesque shows with Shelly the Singing Siren. The drinks are pretty great and the decor is lovely. Get there early if youre there to see a show, though, because the space is small and there are only a handful of good seats from which you can see the stage. (Theres standing room too, though.)

This is a great speakeasy that has a burlesque show in the evenings. This speakeasy bar offers creative drinks and a cozy atmosphere. Make sure to get there early if you want to grab a table for your group, as the bar is on the smaller side. Then, once youve settled in, order a Moscow Mule or a Aperol Negroni and take in the decor of the place while enjoying a drink with a friend. Burlesque shows run on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but be sure to check the schedule of shows and events online ahead of time just in case.

Love this spot and the only reason Im digging it is because the DJ kills me. The playlists are 2 steps forward and 1 step back, its almost like they are trying to jar you into buying another drink out of confusion. Otherwise, quaint little spot with a pin-up vibe and good drinks. A but small so not really good for big groups.

Drinks are not bad in this place. The place, however, is really small. The nightly burlesque show is of a very poor quality. The performers barely move. The dancing is terrible. Really boring!

Got a drink the bouncer had some issues with me me. I worry not there are many other places on ludlow. I have never been asked to leave a bar before. No idea what he was yammering about. I left and went to Iggys.

We had a fabulous time at Thursday night burlesque at Nurse Bettie. It was one of the smallest shows Ive ever seen with only three performers including the host, and they killed it! Very intimate space, we all got to know each other quite well. I would absolutely come back here in a heartbeat for another show. We loved it!

Drinks are great with a fantastic selection of whiskeys and bourbon. Never a dull moment here.Its small is not a reason to leave a negative review- go to some massive bar then & deal with that mess. It being small is what makes it so unique and reminds me of the old LES.

The service was excellent I must say that the security staff, the bartenders, and the performers all made the wonderful atmosphere that the patrons experience here.I will definitely back and probably with a lot more of my friends.

The Moscow Mule is my favorite drink there; it is refreshing and goes down real easy. Its a small bar with fun, retro ambiance and the burlesque show is classic. The MC was beautiful and funny, and the acts were sexy and classy. Id recommend this for an alternative to a traditional date on burlesque nights.

Nurse Bettie brings to my mind how a small place can be so optimally utilized. Trust me this place was a complete surprise to me when I visited it first time. Located on a tiny by lane of LES, this place lives up to all the hype and excitement around it.The first time I went here was with a group of friends during our bar crawl session in LES. This was our last spot of the day, by that time many people had dropped out of our group. We walked in here expecting nothing on a Wednesday night but were surprised to see a live burlesque show going on. The performers were sweet, naughty, humorous and made sure everybody out in the audience had a nice time.Second time I went here on a Thursday evening but we reached very late but still didnt pay cover to get in. I guess they dont have any cover on Burlesque show nights. The place was buzzing with people, mostly were LES regulars. The presenter for the night gave a really nice performance. My drink, Moscow mule was really awesome.It is now one of my favorite bars nestled in the Lower East Side. They have somegreat specialty cocktails and fun music.

Love this place! Out on the city with friends looking for some of my old haunts which are all closed now. Waiter from Beauty and Essex recommended Nurse Betty it was a Tuesday night so our expectations were not so high but we ended up having an amazing night and closed the place down at 4! Bar tender friendly and easy going. DJ played cracking tunes. And quick on playing requests. Will definitely go there again. Made me know that there is still true soul in LES!

Nurse Bettie was the second stop of my Bachelorette party night and it was amazing. We reserved a table which was right there when we walked in the bartenders introduced themselves and were absolutely amazing we loved them so much. They were really attentive made sure we always got our drinks. It was amazing. Sure the space is on the smaller side but we never felt crowded. It was clean and bright and well organized.Nurse Bettie will now and forever always be a stop when ever I’m in that part of the city

Cool spot. If you are going for the burlesque show make sure to get there between 9-930pm on Wed/Thu. By 1015 there is barely any room, the place is jam packed. The bartenders are super cool to out-of-towners. The iced whiskey coffee was good and different for sure.

This place was a total blast. Everyone we met was so happy and friendly. The bartenders were amazing. I just asked for my base liquor and what flavors I liked and it was the best drink ever. Highly recommended.

Nurse Bettie is an adorable little place tucked along Suffolk Street. Themed after Bettie Paige, large throwback pin-ups adorn the walls. Bartenders are friendly and accommodating and know how to make a mean cocktail. The large windows in the front open, making it a great place to visit when the weather is nice. A charming find in the LES. Cant wait to come back for a burlesque show.

I came here the first time for drinks and the second time for their weekly show. The place is small, but the happy hour is pretty good and the drinks are made well. As for the show itself, it gets pretty crowded fairly quickly, so I would probably get there at least a half hour before the show starts. The show itself is great but remember since its a free show, expect to see more amateurs than professionals.

Nurse Bettie is a cute little bar that one would think is just a quaint, shiny and well decorated bar. This is true and most nights its pretty quiet. Tuesdays and Thursdays however the place is packed and the atmosphere excited for their burlesque shows. The performers are always talented and the crowd high energy but not rowdy. They also have a drink special if you check in on Foursquare so you can keep your drink cost low! Pretty (almost) naked ladies and a nice atmosphere. Couldnt ask for much more.

Came here as part of a cocktail tour event. Fitting to the name, the decor here is largely a cross between burlesque and pin-up girls. The bar itself isnt very big, but its quite cozy. The bartender was friendly, attentive, efficient, and was more than happy to fill you in on the history of the area and the bar itself if you are interested in learning about them. The drink here was quite good. The music was a bit loud on a no-show night, which can make conversation a little bit difficult. From what I heard they also have burlesque shows regularly.

I loved this place. I just wish they would take some precautions to avoid their costumers from contracting COVID-19.

I live in Manhattan and Nurse Bettie is my favorite bar in NYC. It has by far the best vibe in the LES. It always draws a friendly, interesting and eclectic crowd of people. Ive met so many entertaining characters at Nurse Bettie. Something about a small, simi-crowded, yet intimate venue that makes people more outgoing. Good drink specials and a diverse drink menu also helps! There really isnt a dance floor at NB but there are always people dancing late night at NB. It is the good music and comfortable atmosphere - anything goes really. Be yourself, relax and tip well. Youll definitely enjoy your night and most likely meet some new peeps.

Last thursday me and my husband went to this place.This was my first burlesque show.Its a small cozy place with two tables and couple of couches. Its really a small place and was fully packed.I couldnt not see the stage, so the bouncer told me i could stand on the couch and see the show. That was really nice of him, i could see the whole show.The staff is nice and friendly, the girls who were performing were amazing. Awsome dance moves!Bar is very reasonable as compared to other bars in same neighbourhood.The best thing about this place is there is no cover charge. Tips are appreciated and they deserve too.Definitely will be going there soon.

Dont let the pictures fool you, this place is no bigger than a bathroom, they pack in bodies like sardines, which makes it almost impossible to make it through the 15 ft of bar space, we didnt stay long enough for a drink. As the bartenders were busy with the 6 people at the bar counter space, and someone in the tight little crammed place, was not into wearing deodorant, so...even tho we took a train all the way from uptown yo see this place, there was nothing to see except a smelly little room crammed with hipsters so desperate to be cool, that theyll hang out anywhere, even if it smells like old onions.

Just grabbed a beer here with a friend. Its on the smallish side and the prices are more in line with the upscale mixology oriented cocktail lounges in the area while the ambience is closer to the run of the mill dives in the neighborhood.
