My friend and I stumbled upon this place on a Sunday evening while walking from SoHo to Chinatown, and it felt like discovering a hidden gem. The lush greenery and vibrant atmosphere gave us serious Miami vibes, a refreshing contrast to the sweltering heat of NYC right now. We were impressed by the quality and generous portions of the food and drinks. Speaking of drinks, they were excellent too! Frozen watermelon margarita is a MUST!All food that we had is soo yumm! Beautiful and well decorated.- East Coast Oyster- Steamed Mussels- Maine Lobster Roll- Smashed AvocadoHowever, the service was a bit slow. While our server was friendly, it took us more than 15 minutes to order our second round of drinks, which was a tad frustrating. Understandably, they seemed understaffed given how busy it was.Overall, despite the minor wait, we loved the ambiance and the delicious offerings here. Definitely worth a visit. Will be back!!
Really beautiful place, has a tropical feel to it. The service was good but did decline towards the end when it started getting a bit more busier. The food was delicious, minus the shrimp pasta it was a bit on the bland side. But everything else was so great. The menu is very minimal, which was perfect for us because we got to basically try almost everything in the menu. The drinks really were the highlight! The drinks were refreshing and just right for a nice summer day. Would definitely be back again.
Overall rating: 4.65Initially this place was a bit hard to find. I got it kind of confused with Soho diner. I was kind of expecting the worst experience ever based on the terrible reviews, but I liked it! If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you know by now I love anything with plants. And this, was a rainforest 😍😍My friends were running late and the service was very friendly and patient while I waited for them. I didn’t drink but the juice was very good. My friend had the salad and I had the granola which were both great.Things got a little rocky soon after when a 3rd friend came. The service dropped significantly. They took forever to get her order, bring out food & close the check. Like 20+ minutes of waiting. We’ve even tried to wave multiple people down a few times, but they were so busy and so crowded. I don’t think that’s an excuse when it’s a $$$ place in Tribeca though. As much as I love the space and the environment, it’s more of a one-time visit for me. As 3 people, I can’t imagine how it is with a party of 4 or more. It has to be better other times? Maybe a happy hour after work? Definitely not brunch for me.I recommend coming at a different time, unless you enjoy or wouldn’t mind waiting.
Received excellent service from Maurice/Mo!! Had some cocktails before dinner in this outdoor seasonal bar. The weather was trash but even still it was fregar to sit outside. Would definitely come back for brunch to get their specials - on their pitchers and a lobster Cobb. Love Maurice.
Perfect outdoor summer date idea. The lobster roll had a ton of lobster! The perfect mix of lemon, butter and love. The skirt steak with chimichuri sauce was amazing too. Gillian’s has the boat, island beach decors nailed especially with all the beautiful plants. The foods amazing, the look is modern and summery. Beers were cold my fiancé got the frozen watermelon drink and loved it!
WATERMELON MARGARITA is a must try when you come here!!! They have really good skirt steak with chimichuri. Bartenders and waiter are very friendly. Overall, recommend this place for a date, family/friends dinner. Would go back to try more on the menu!Note: They are open all summer and closed during the cold season.
Loved it! Had a spot at the bar, staff was super nice. We ordered their frozen watermelon margarita, which is by the way amazing, and had so wait a little because they ran out of it. Honestly no big deal for me, ordered something else in the meantime but then we got the margarita on the house. So nice! The place itself is so cute with all the plants and kinda beachy style. You don’t feel like you’re in Manhattan anymore.
Only come for drinks- do NOT treat this place as a dining experience. Service was the worst I’ve experienced in NYC. Host kept “needing a minute” as he was overwhelmed by seating but also ironically was drinking the whole time. After waiting, we got seated at a dirty table and were ignored for 30 minutes. As we were about to leave, the waiter came. The food came out all together. Oysters were the worst I’ve ever had. Drinks came out 20 minutes after all the food got there. They literally closed the kitchen on someone as they were ordering. Just all around terrible. Also- no gluten free options if you’re looking for some.
I visited Gilligans recently and had a mixed experience. While the drinks had an authentic touch, I was disappointed with the wait time for the server to attend to us. The ambiance was enjoyable, but the drinks didnt quite hit the mark for me.
10/10 for this fabulous plant oasis. I would come just to sit with the plants.Drinks were delicious and appetizers were fresh and light.
I love this space!!!! The food, the service and the ambiance is amazing! It’s my go too! The matcha colada is actually very tasty. I am impressed and I visit here often
Love it and looking forward to my return this Saturday. Service is amazing and amazing food. Had surf turf with a huge king crab and it was perfect .
There are multiple rats at the location scavenging for food. The hostess was extremely rude by forcing us to move from our seats because we didn’t have a reservation even though we were seated by the waiter. If you order a drink expect 40-60 minute wait
Beautiful place! Food is great but it was more of an appetizer. The frozen watermelon margarita drink is delicious.
SERVICE AND STAFF ARE ABSOLUTELY THE WORST.We came with out a reservation, the hostess went to check if they had tables available. She proceeded to come back and tell us that although there was many tables available, we’d have to wait 30 mins to see if any reservations canceled before being seated. Absolutely ridiculous. She then seats us, we get our order taken - 5 mins later another hostess comes up to us and tells us we have 90 mins to sit and eat, mind you we hadn’t even gotten our food yet and they were already trying to rush us out. The server then forgets to put an order in and we are now sitting there sharing one entree after already feeling rushed before even getting to eat. So now more of our time was wasted waiting on a meal that should have came out together with the rest of our food. We ask to speak with a manager - we wait about 20 mins before the same hostess who seated us comes back and tells us she’s JR manager and that the actual manager wasn’t there. We asked for something on our bill to be taken care of due to how uncomfortable we were made to feel and one of our meals being completely forgotten about. The waiter proceeds to bring out the second entree, we eat and ask for a check when the bill was received we were not compensated for anything. We then ask to speak with a manager again - a server who we seen walking around the restaurant the entire time comes up to us and tells us that he’s the manager. Not only were we rushed to eat but we were lied to by staff about the management. It’s really a shame because the food is so delicious but the service and staff are TERRIBLE. Do not waste your money here if you want be treated right.
The cutest cocktail bar on Canal!! I stumbled on this gem on a Saturday and did not want to leave. The drinks are delicious and refreshing! Order them all and make sure Ike is making it and Lucas is serving it up! I’ve literally found my new home.
Had a blast! Drinks are fire. The smashed avocado was great but the bread was a little too salty for my liking. Kyle is the bomb! Thanks Kyle for going out of your way - above & beyond, extremely grateful for the service! We will be back for the limoncello piña colada!! I highly recommend the drinks matcha colada & knot tied down though!
Went there Friday night to catch up with few friends. This place has a nice vibe and a good range of cocktails. Liked their watermelon margarita and tequila cocktail!
Super cute...very accommodating especially due to pandemic restrictions. Food pretty good, drinks even better. Try the hot toddy on nice crisp day.
Cute spot, Chris provided amazing service!! It was much appreciated. Watermelon drink was good and our food (lobster Cobb, burrata toast, oysters) was delicious. Towards closing there were a few extra critters 🐀 running around so it was def time to go but otherwise, a great night out.
What an awesome summer place with Miami feel. Visiting here feels like you walked into a portal, and you are definitely not in NY anymore.Food is great. Very tasty and decent size portions. Drinks are nicely made and have alcohol in them, not just ice like half the city is doing it these days.Staff is great. Good weather - visit Gilligan’s.
I LOVE GILLIGANS! Literally my favorite spot to bring friends from out of town. The plush greenery makes you feel like youre in a tropical oasis. Their lobster cobb fixes my Duryeas cravings. The watermelon marg is a staple but the spicy skipper has my heart - a must!!
This place was so beautiful and we were so excited to try it. The front receptionist was clearly in a bad mood but was not excited to see customers. Kinda dampened the vibe but we looked past it.Demetrius was the most helpful. Food was okay, vibes and service were excellent. I would go back. Thanks for having us!
We only had the best watermelon 🍉 margarita and Pina colada here. So beautiful. For a full review go to Annastravelsnyc on Instagram and Tiktok
Great ambiance. Watermelon margaritas was delicious. Everything on the menu was great
The servers and bartenders are friendly but I wanted to sit outside. If u wanna sit outside you have to order ur food amd drinks at the bar which is outdoors in the sun 🌞 and then take it with u to the front to sit outside. That was a little annoying. I had the Kale salad with chicken which was OK and the watermelon margarita which was really Good. Paid $50 for a salad and drink. Its pricey but thats Manhattan for ya. Id say this is a good place for drinks. Drinks are good and the restaurant is decorated island 🏝 style which is pleasant to the eye and for IG pics
My new favorite place in Soho! From the moment you step inside, youre transported to a serene beach retreat. The ambiance, decor, and overall vibes are amazing. Food was okay, the drinks were a definite highlight. We went on a Tuesday evening and it wasnt overly crowded, which made it even better. I had a lot of fun and I cant wait to visit again.
Service sucks. Rude bartender with zero common sense. Hot as balls and bro wouldn’t bring me a water. Ordered the $45 raw steak. I brought it up to the bartender and he told me not much he can do. LmaoEdit: menu says it comes with shoestring fries but it actually came with a side of lays potato chips. Once again bartender like “my b” bootleg Maluma mfer
Fun summer beach club vibes in the middle of SoHo. LOVE the watermelon margaritas!!
The charming ambiance, impeccable cuisine, and attentive service at Gilligan’s create an enchanting experience. It truly is a delightful gem.
Chill and relaxed atmosphere. A little getaway in the city to catch up with a group of friends. Cocktails and food are amazing!
Very friendly servers, horrendous excuse for a kale salad. Large and YELLOWING pieces of lacinito kale with a tiny bit of dressing. NOT massaged, NOT fresh, barely edible. Like it’s 2023 how are we still treating kale like this. The dressing was good, however. There are so many better places to eat in New York, although not in Soho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Gilligan’s is a vibey little oasis tucked away from the busy streets of New York. We dropped in for a drink and the staff were absolutely lovely. The kind female bartender even gave my sister a glass of Prosecco to congratulate her on her bachelorette weekend. We really enjoyed our visit here, definitely recommend for those looking for a relaxed, beautiful environment for food & drink.
Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Gilligans bar in NYC, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a perfect blend of vibrant greenery amidst the bustling concrete jungle.I had the opportunity to try two of their signature drinks, the Frozen Watermelon Margarita and the Cooler than Coco, and both were absolutely amazing. The Frozen Watermelon Margarita was a refreshing delight, with the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors. As for the Cooler than Coco, it was a true tropical paradise in a glass, transporting me to a beach getaway with every sip.The bar itself had a lively ambiance, and the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Gilligans bar truly offers an oasis within the city, where you can unwind and indulge in delicious concoctions. If youre looking for a great spot to enjoy some fantastic drinks in NYC, I highly recommend Gilligans bar. Whether youre a local or just visiting, its a hidden gem that provides a much-needed escape from the urban hustle. Cheers!
If youre looking for a hipster outdoor area with drinks that will make your Instagram POP..this is your place. Quality drinks, quality pics, big prices.
While the overpriced drinks and food were expected, the service was also awful. The waitress did not come back to our table for over an hour. We were not able to get refills of water and never got napkins/cutlery with our food. We ordered multiple things that we never received. The food itself was tasty but very small portion. Drinks were not worth the price at all as they were mostly ice and very weak - the only one that is good is the frozen margarita. The only good thing about the place is the pretty atmosphere and plants.
We just had a couple of drinks during lunch time here. The place looks absolutely beautiful with all the plants you feel like youve been transported to a vacation spot. Service was slightly slow and didnt match the amazingness of the place. Hopefully thatll improve shortly!
Food was tasty and high quality. The service was not the best and bit oo pricy for portion sizez
Was having a drinks and apps gathering with my team after work. The initial server didn’t seem to be having the best day and although my team and I were trying to be good sports about it, the service that we ultimately received from Marrisa and Jason was beyond the beyond! They really took care of us and genuinely turned a negative into a positive. They’re the best and I highly recommend asking for them when you go here!
Cocktails were great, food not so much. Tried the zucchini pizza and could have been more crispy.Ambience is inside forest like with background new hits playing. Would recommend a stop if in the neighborhood!
Best outdoor garden space in soho. Great food, lots of greenery and fantastic staff. A wonderful dog friendly space!
Fantastic atmosphere. Service was great. We ordered beers and a pizza. Loved the squash blossom pizza. I would come back for the ambiance alone.
Beautiful place, hidden from the noice and concrete of the city. I had the Aperol spritz, the lobster roll and the fresh burrata with watermelon; all soo good. Everyone in the staff was super nice and attentive
A great outdoor vibe experience! The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was great. We got pizza and salads and it was great. Would definitely recommend.
Great vibes, ok service. Good drinks!
Christian is an excellent server. His customer service, attention to detail, and friendly disposition exceeded my expectations. The food is mouth watering and the pizza is a must order menu option. I highly recommend this trendy hotspot for a delicious bite... and the watermelon frozen margarita will have you singing New York by Frank Sinatra!
Stumbled randomly across this place on an afternoon while visiting soho and it was a lovely surprise. The decor and atmosphere were nice, but the food was really delicious. We got the lobster roll and the spicy honey pizza and both were great; i will come back here for their food.
The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was good, however the waitress was not personable at all. Almost like we were bothering her while ordering our food. I wouldve given it a 5 if the waitress was not miserable with her life
Great spot for the summer. Has an awesome island tiki bar vibe !
Come here only for the ambiance and drinks, not for the service or to have a meal. After place a simple order of a pizza I then waited 40 mins for 1 pizza. I asked the waitress about 30 mins in if the pizza was in the way and she said yes. After not receiving the pizza in the next 10 mins, I went to speak to the manager who then confessed the waitress forgot the order. He shortly promptly delivered the lackluster pizza and offered a drink to compensate for the delay. Upon receiving my drink I noticed a fly hanging out in my drink. After three strikes involving the delay, lackluster pizza and fly drink I can’t recommend this place and actually suggest you do not go here. Instead go across the street to Mamo for amazing service, food and a great atmosphere.
Cute place for drinks!
Went here for brunch with my girls. Could have sat here all day. We each had two entrees lol... everything was tasty. Frozen watermelon cocktail is 👌🏽 Loved my crab toast.
The patio is really beautiful, lots of interesting plants. We just stopped in for a drink and were told we could sit at the bar or high tops (even though it wasn’t busy at all). They had a lot of staff working who were just walking around. We waited for almost 20 minutes only to be told that we had to order at the bar and then go back to our table. Not a great experience, and probably wont be back.
Its a nice ambiance in there. Dont expect much about the food. Too expensive and small portions. I ordered butter melt lettuce salad with grilled veggies on it, I got a bowl of lettuce 🥬 didnt have enough dressing and my grilled veggies were missing. It was a $27 dolar salad with tip! My salad was offensive to the senses. Seriously, such disappointment 😞
The place is gorgeous and the drinks very refreshing and unique. My waiter was Trim. Trim was so helpful and kind. He answered all our questions and took extra time to give us helpful and honest recommendations. I would definitely recommend this place!
Cute place with nice drinks. However, service is pretty slow. Prices are high but just as any NYC place. A lot of mosquitoes…
This place is filled with rats! One crawled up on my girlfriend and on me five minutes after sitting down. We immediately walked out. This seems like a problem there. Check out the other negative reviews and many other people say they same. Run from this place!
The watermelon slush is great; however— a 20% gratuity was added to our bill (party of six) but nowhere on our bill did it state that. therefore we tipped an additional 20%. after realizing this the next day, we tried calling management multiple times to get our bill corrected, but were unable to get in touch. this is a misleading practice and needs to be corrected.
Pretty place, nice garden but I wouldnt eat there again. First they ask for a credit card when you are at a table which makes no sense. Second I order the lobster cobb salad for $49 which had just 2 tiny pieces of lobster. Then (here is the kicker) when I was ready to check out the bill came with an over charge of $16!You better check your receipt before you pay against the menu. They are probably over charging tourists left and right! Finally the WORST part....they dont play music EVER so just sit there outside listening to everyone else talking with no music! As a native New Yorker Im going to give this place a big old WACK review! Take a photo and leave dont spend any money there.
Incorrectly charged my credit card for a ~$700 tab in addition to my bill. After tracking them down, it was clear they double billed the ~$700 to me and the actual party. Refund still hasnt gone thought yet and it has been almost two weeks. Would avoid given the exceptionally poor service.
Perfect garden full of plants. The cocktails were really nice , try the frozen watermelon for sure!
Came here for the first time with the husband and it was amazing. Loved the atmosphere, the food, and the drinks! A nice spot to just wind down and enjoy your time. We will definitely be back
Such a fun outdoors spot open during the summer at the Soho Grand. It’s also adjacent to the Soho Grand’s fabulous dog park.
Service was subpar. We constantly received wrong dishes; waiters seemed frazzled and orders were incorrect....water never refilled...cutlery not present...but the food, vibe and ambiance is 5 stars. The staff is 3stars.
I had an amazing time while dining with my friends. The food was delicious and our waiter trim was so helpful. He was nice and understanding. 10/10 experience!
Wonderful vibes and nice selection of natural juices
Giving one star for the unique experience that this bar provided. Other than that, the service was absolutely terrible- we ordered an appetizer & dinner at the same time, and waited 1.5 hours and ended up not getting any food.
Fun place on a nice day. The watermelon frozen margarita is very good. Despite how packed the place was, the bartenders were very attentive and made getting a drink easy.
Veeery nice place and vibes, we spent very nice time there, but food and drinks are not that good.I ordered stake and it definitely was missing salt and taste, guacamole and watermelon drink had some strange taste like ingredients were old 😏
This is a very cute hotel with good amenities and a nice location. What is not so great is the cranky cocktail staff in the hotel bar on the second floor. Ugh. The last thing I need when Im trying to unwind is a tightly wound, sour cocktail waitress delivering my $18 drink.
I literally come here just for the ambience and frozen watermelon margaritas. The women in the front are always rude. First they ask if I have a reservation, when I say no she looks over to the other girl and asks “hmmm how long do you think the wait time is?” The other girl sarcastically says “hmmm idk 2 hrs..45mins... 1 hr... 20 mins...put 45 mins.” As I waited over at the bar and communal table I spotted many empty seats and tables. As I left, empty tables were still around and people were still being told to wait. Of course, I was never seated. I don’t know how bored they must be to make up exaggerated wait times.
A fantastic place with upscale resort vibes and delicious cocktails! I felt like I was on a nice vacation somewhere. We came at 6.30pm on Tuesday and got sitted in a pretty empty area which was good for our private conversation. The other zone was filled with people but our waiter constantly checked on us and we did not feel forgotten.I will be back and bring friends, it is such a pleasant place.
Like a beach bar sandwiched in next to the Soho Grand. Relaxing. Every potted plant they could get their hands on! Excellent frozen watermelon margaritas. Two will do!
Brilliant avo toast, great margs good vibes. Lots of pizza!
I don’t understand the place, in summer it is a steaming sauna couple of my worst hours. Food was mediocre at best.
There was a hair in my food & the service was really bad, not very attentive.
There was an excellent service and the food was absolutely delightful. Our waiter, Trim, was very nice and patient. Amazing service and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend 100/10!
I visited Gilligan’s several days ago. This place gets four stars because of their margherita pizza and frozen watermelon margarita. It’s definitely worth it to try the frozen watermelon margarita. It’s not watered down and it’s a delicious summer drink. I ordered the chilled shrimp, avocado pita, and burrata (minus the pork) as well. The chilled shrimp was great being the first time I ever had raw shrimp. Everything was tasty, but definitely not worth the price. Also, head ups they charge a COVID surcharge. Personally, I understand how crippling businesses may be during this time. So, I have no problem thinking of this as to support my city, help staff members, and contribute to the extra PPE the restaurant may have to buy. But, other people may think this may be disadvantageous of our current pandemic. That’s your personal choice. I would recommend if you’re going for one drink and maybe an appetizer or two. The tropical haunt ambience brings a different NYC vibe that blends perfect with a summer night. Our waiter was great and super accommodating. I’ll probably not come here for the food, but definitely to get a taste of the watermelon margarita.
The food was great, and the atmosphere was excellent. Bar staff were so friendlyI would come here again
What an urban oasis! This place just keeps going! Lovely place for an outdoor dining adventure. Definitely get a cocktail whole youre here. Any of them will do!
The venue is cute but there is NO music on a Friday night at 8pm. Feels weird tbh. And what’s with their random mist that sprays you out of no where?? Lol
You feel at an exotic island the moment you step in. Grab a drink and enjoy the view!
Snazzy boutiqe hotel Very, very good, especilly on higher floors (Corner King). Room service was a delight. The staff is perfect, very helpful and caring. Even the goldfish in our room was great!
All of their cocktails are delicious and the watermelon margarita deserves very special mention because we both end up drinking 2 more of them.
Great drinks, good bites, amazing atmosphere, and all the servers are attentive/professional/charming. Go for the ambience, stay for the watermelon margs
The most amazing kale salad I’ve ever had. The watermelon 🍉 frozen drink is a must try!
All right—because this place was good as hell! Went here for a work event and when I tell you the food, drinks, atmo and THE SERVICE were amazing I’m not lying. Desireé was and is, I’m sure will continue to be, the best server. EVER!!!!!!! She anticipated needs and wants that we didn’t even know we had??? She was amazing and just incredibly gracious and kind. Extremely hard working and you can tell she knows her craft. She was THEE REASON our work happy hour was flawless and a ton of fun. Which when do you ever say a work event is fun? Okay exactly. She went above and beyond from start to finish. She is an asset to the restaurant and a five star ⭐️ serving professional. If you go to Gilligan’s know that you’re getting the best service that the industry could ever offer and the food and drinks are bomb as hell. That pina colada is insane. You really can’t go wrong with this place. I pray that the management does right by the servers because whew Desireé made it an experience!!!! Y’all tip her big when you go. Ok 💗
This hideaway is the best for outdoor gardens in NYC. We saw many small happy dogs enjoying the day out with their parents.
Watermelon margaritas to die for. Such a fun, tropical atmosphere too! Solid service. Can’t wait to come back this summer.
The venue is very beautiful. Its like walking through a mini movie set. The food and drinks are divine. I had the lobster roll which was delicious. My friends stated that their food was a little too salty. I had a piece of the coppa pizza and I thought it was very delicious. The watermelon margarita is very freshing and tasty. The only reason I didnt give it a full 5 stars is because where we sat in the back is close to the street side and we saw a rat come in and out through a crack behind the leaves and bushes they have set up. Left us feeling a but uneasy but nevertheless, we had a good time.
Hotel entrance is beautiful people were great, rooms very small for 500.00 and parking 55.00 a day picked the car up 1 hour over and was charged an additional 55.00 this is CRAZY when you spend $500.00 a night
Great restaurant and service was excellent. Our waiter Trim was extremely nice and understanding. 10/10 highly recommend
Great for cocktails, margs and unique drinks with your friends/colleagues. Ambiance is cozy, location is convenient.
Good food, friendly service and yummy drinks. Lovely oasis in the middle of the City. Definitely going back.
Came here for drinks and the watermelon margarita was extremely good. We also got two pizzas that were great. Definitely a good spot for drinks and food.
Setting is great; however, the service is very bad. Long wait time, OK food, rude waiters etc.
Great drinks, great atmosphere. Havent tried the food but the Flatbread Pizza looks delicious
Best frozen watermelon margarita. Lobster rolls are so good too! Friendly service
Drinks are good but food is very bland. The food menu is also very limited and pricey. I’d return for drinks but the food is a waste of money.
Rats are literally everywhere. Crawling around the landscaping behind patron’s heads. Truly shocking. Management must see them so frequently it is normal to them because when mentioned they did nothing but brush it off.
Best outdoor restaurant in NYC. Best frozen drinks and woodfired pizzas. Loved it all.
Beautiful, refreshing space… a little oasis.
This is my favorite hotel in new york! Love the lobby and all the bars in the building/outside....would recommend this to anyone planning an NYC trip.
Great food, atmosphere and service. Its a but pricey but totally worth it on a hot spring day as a treat.
The Frozen drinks are amazing, and I loved the crab dip!!
Beautiful drinks and restaurant. Thank you to our server trim for an amazing experience.
Infested with rats. Can’t believe they haven’t been shut down yet
This is a cute oasis in the heart of the city. I love all the plants and the decor is intimate and cozy. It’s a great date spot. The cocktails are also great and flavorful and the staff were attentive
Great place! Nice staff, warm heating and atmosphere for outdoor seating!
I love the rooftop.
Love the ambience, service & drinks. Can’t say much about the food because I had the Tuscan salad with chicken. It was good. Was a bit expensive for the portion (the small was for $18)
French toast for brunch is really delicious. Good food and ambiance overall.
Loved this place. Great drinks and food. Will be back!
Fun leafy space
If only the service was as nice as the atmosphere. Service was below par, drinks for $18 are purely made of ice. I asked for less ice and still they put a full cup of ice in the drink. The lobster on the $54 Cobb salad felt frozen. Did not smell or taste fresh but then again it’s nyc what could I expect… Our server was slow and only checked in on us trying to get us to buy another drink. When we needed something she was not attentive and focused on other guests. The sever mind you only had 3 tables… when we were finished nobody cleared our dishes and so flies came around the dirty dishes yuck! Not worth spending $100 for.
Hidden gem at Soho Grand, you go for the cocktails and vibe with friends. Food is secondary. Service was fine for a busy Saturday, a little slow for my liking but nothing irritating. Frozen watermelon margs are good. Its the Soho Grand, expect to pay accordingly.
Bar Meet Jessy with Kyle and Dana. $16 mediocre watermelon drinks. Bad and overpriced food.
The Yard which is only open in the summer is their outdoor bar/restaurant. its a very relaxed and great spot.
STAFF IS RUDE. Terrible customer service. Had a reservation at 12pm. It was 11:59 we asked to check in and were told very rudely they were not open yet.
Great place to wind down after work. Feels like a little oasis in the middle of the city. I can see this place popping this summer
Dove right in and didnt wanna come back up
Fun summer spot. Hidden gem, great atmosphere, fun and friendly staff. Cocktails and food are amazing.
Excellent summer spot in the city. Great and simple food menu and island inspired craft cocktails.
Great casual patio for drinks. The watermelon margaritas are amazing.
Poor service, actual rats running around in the landscaping behind our seats (which was brushed off by serving staff as being “due to Canal St right here” - entirely unacceptable), and our water glasses were nearly always empty. It was a very frustrating experience overall. While I recognize this is primarily a cocktail bar, service was unacceptably poor, especially on an evening without too large of a crowd. Over the course of 2.5 hours, we had four different people serve our table (as our “server”).The food came out as it was ready, and when it did arrive, it was generally very good. It’s frustrating that the surrounding aspects of the experience overshadowed it.
Susie was great! Very accommodating and friendly. I would definitely come back ;)
Great drinks. Great entrance. Horrible seating near the bar. Impossible to get to seats without other tables getting up and moving.
Such an unfortunate experience at this outdoor restaurant. Apparently they have a rat issue. My friend and I were sitting chatting when I felt something climb on my leg (not kidding). We saw it scurry off. Thought we’d give it one more try by moving from the bench seating to a high top. Food arrived and I saw three more rats running towards us. At that point we told them we would be leaving. The manager was understanding, but there was a lot of nervous laughter and chatter from the staff. And comments about it being a usual thing. I’ve been in NYC for many years and have never experienced anything like it!
Ummm rats. Yup rats.Hard to give such a low review bc food was decent, especially the steak and our server was good. Tuna crudo was a small portion on a very large plate. Drinks did take awhile, even getting extra limes. Where it went downhill, bathrooms had no toilet paper. What made it weirder was there was no toilet paper when we arrived and the bathrooms remained unserviced the entire time we were there. The kicker was the rats. The rats running around in the planters that are part of the seating. So like right behind your head. We moved once, but then more rats, fast ones, returned later. Not even acknowledgment from management, not even a stop by or anything. It’s crazy.$100/pp for no toilet paper and rats
An oasis in the city! Great drinks great food amazing atmosphere!
I made a reservation for 9 and asked 2 times on 2 separate calls if a wedding officiate could conduct a 15 minute ceremony. Both staffer on the phone said it was fine. One stated that she would need to call manager or owner to confirm. She called back and confirmed it was ok. When we arrived the table was ready but the manager refused to allow the simple and fast ceremony . The manager stated it was first she heard of it. She called the owner and apparently he said no as well. We had to get married outside because we were rudely told to leave and we could not have the ceremony on the premises. Ceremony literally took less than 13 min. We didn’t have a plan B otherwise my guests and I would have left.$1100.00 check which I happily paid because my guests were having a wonderful time. Drinks were great but food is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. If you are gonna charge $32 for steak don’t insult your customers by serving it with chips…potato chips…Really?!?The servers were AMAZING and that is what saved this experience. Management was awful and I would NEVER recommend this place.
Absolute trash service avoid
The atmosphere was beautiful, the reason why we decided to eat there. But we will not visit again, the toilets were super dirty and the food was absolutely not worth the price. I‘m really sorry, the restaurant looks gorgeous but maybe only for a drink.
Emma was pretty awesome has a hotel manager. Thank you
Looking for real nyc or at least cool part, this is the place. skip waldorf/plaza if you have any hip factor!
Good vibes and great outdoor feel with lots of lush plants around. You forget youre a few feet away from Canal street. Good wines by the glass and the tuna crudo was very tasty.
Great outdoor spot. A little pricey but the atmosphere is worth it.
A tiki bar with a cozy atmosphere tucked in between two buildings. A small drink selection is made up by a lush, jungle-like surroundings.
Hidden oasis if you want to travel to Tulum with only a metro card.
If you go for Tiktok or Instagram thats ok, the decor looks amazing and beautiful for dining inside but if you look for the place for food, skip it. I expected that the higher price gonna indicator of its quality but the price is high and the quality is not worth for it. I didnt recommend Shrimp pasta and Steak. I recommend for drink and oyster.
Food is really mediocre but expensive. The bar is full of tourists
Beautiful space, with area for misters and gorgeous greenery. Lots of options for drinks, and they were all very good - food is good, we just did some basics to share. Mostly about the space! Service was also very good, even when it got busy.
This place has rats all over. One even crawled on me. I ran out of there. Stay away!
Great place! Such a fun, lush, down to earth vibe, nd love that the waiters are from diverse backgrounds and so much more joyful than your typical New Yorkers.
I stayed here because I read great reviews. I booked the Seduction in SOHO package for a romantic weekend on my first wedding anniversary. Dealing with the staff here is like amateur hour. I booked a package which was supposed to include early check in and romantic stuff for me and the wife. I had to remind everyone I spoke to what I was supposed to receive. Room wasnt ready at early check in and all the extras I paid for were late and I had to cajole the staff for everything that was supposed to be included. This took all the romance out of the weekend. When I gave my feedback on a survey they sent me (not that I was expecting anything, I just wanted someone to know I was unhappy with my stay) they offered me a complimentary stay. When I tried to take them up on the offer I didnt even receive a response. While the hotel was nice and the location was convenient, the service left everything to be desired. I certainly dont mind paying a premium for good service, but this isnt the place for it. Next time I will stay in midtown and pay a few bucks extra. At least I know I can expect professional service.
The patio is a lovely setting - and it was really nice sitting outside on a summer evening. But it is so comically overpriced that its impossible to enjoy. This place is for wealthy tourists looking for a way to get rid of their money. Our very modest meal and a few drinks was more than $90 per person. Food wasnt bad, but it was hardly off-the-charts. Lets sum it up this way: I would never go back.
Good place to hang out and chill with your friends as there are few options in and around Arlington to explore.
Gilligan’s is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The tropical ambiance is unmatched, the frozen watermelon margaritas are top-notch, and the food is great. Murat, the Food & Beverage Director, is wonderful and always makes my experience incredible. Highly recommend!
No one came to serve us so we left. Nice atmosphere though.
Super friendly atmosphere and lovely decor.,I sat down at the bar and the server (Brian) was very kind and quick with my order. Highly recommend for a fun brunch or eventful dinner
Placed a take out order, told them my allergies and had to wait additional 15 minutes after they told me to arrive to have the things I specified I was allergic to on my sandwich. If ordering take out I do recommend checking your food before leaving especially if have allergies. The people answering the phone do not take into consideration peoples allergies.
They tried charging me double and the staff was rude. Go to the bar next door
If youre looking for a beach vibe in the middle of New York city this is your go to spot😍 the watermelon margaritas on a hot summer day will make you feel like youre on a vacation in your own city. The beautiful servers will give you an experience for the books. If youre from New York and you still havent checked them out yet I suggest you be the cool one out of your friends and hit the spot ASAP !!!
Drinks were great, food menu isnt huge, but reasonable. I had the pizza, it was good, big chewey dough. Friend had the steak and really liked it.
I enjoyed the drinks! The atmosphere was really calm and relaxing even tho packed with people. The plants were really nice
A big disappointment, the place is nice and comfortable, however THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I arrived with my best friend for dinner, the hostess allowed us access and assigned us a table, 5 minutes later he arrived in the company of the kitchen manager to demand a credit card to charge us the food (even though we had not seen the letter). We had to decide in 2 minutes and dine in 10. They always demanded a previous credit card to charge in advance, we asked for some extras and they denied them. a special dinner that can take you a couple of hours, became a fast food of 25 minutes maximum. A real shame the service, I will never go back and definitely this place is NOT recommended, the worst service in years.
Awesome outdoor bar! I was surprised how large it was and the entrance threw me off a bit but once you walk in, you know you found a gem. The guacamole and shrimp cocktail looked great. Try the watermelon drinks 👍
Cute place and good drinks, but the food was just okay and the service was awful.
Gillian’s is great and Susie is the most lit!!!
Had the spaghetti with shrimp and it was delicious! Prompt service and very mellow atmosphere…great hang out place❤️
I came here with my 3 friends. The service was great and the restaurant is very beautiful. Our server Trim was very kind and helped us with our orders. The food was very good as well (coming from a picky eater) and very filling. Id come here again.
Awesome summer pop up - a green oasis from the bustling streets that surround it.
Great atmosphere with lovely cocktails. Also the surroundings make you feel like you are in a tropical getaway! A little pricey but its Soho plus the setting is like a holiday destination so thats the excuse lol!
You wait for almost 2 hours to get a tablea and then they tell you that only outside (they never tell you that you cannot get inside without a reservation). Food is not better that can food. The frozen margarita is nice but they charge 18 dollars...
Very chill outdoor bar in Soho, attached to the Soho Grand Hotel. A little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for - its like a wonderful little escape from Manhattan. Good frozen drinks and a few nice beers. Can get busy, but Ive usually managed to find tables (theres enough churn that you can usually swoop in for a seat)
Trim was my Favorite Waiter and He brought me a FABULOUS Lobster Cobb Salad!! Trim is EXTREMELY Pleasant and checked on me Twice!! He kept my Glass Full!!
A mixed bag of sorts. The venue itself is incredible, and the frozen watermelon margarita is exactly what you didnt know you needed on a summer day.But the service was slowww, and details such as silverware, wine glasses, and extra plates were forgotten and had to be asked for. If youre down to shift to island time, and have some great drinks in a really cool spot while youre at it, this is for you!
Too expensive to my taste for what it is! A snack for a restaurant price. Nice to sit outside though!
Great ambiance, food and cocktails! Perfect tropical paradise in the heart of NYC
The best 🍉 margaritas I ever had. The food is very expensive and doesnt add up to how much is given on the plate. Example.... $36 for a bowl of lettuce with 3 shrimp 🤬
Incredible spot! Great for drinks.
Really frustrating to write this because I actually love the SoHo Grand, but they are serving focaccia and calling it pizza (if you don’t have the means to make it, take it off the menu) and the ice cream sandwich dessert was impossible to eat with a spoon. The cookie was SO hard. And not good. There was supposed to be squash blossom on the “pizza” but that was a joke. All of this was overpriced too. Service was not good — I think I waited like 45 minutes until someone noticed I was done and waiting for the check, only because I got up and started stretching.
I have stayed at the Grand a few times while travelling for work. The staff are incredibly helpful, the amenities and beds lovely, and all in a great location. They even have Kiehls bath products. The rooms tend to be a bit small, but it is New York.If you dont stay at the hotel, it is still worth dropping in for a drink. In the winter, when the fireplace is lit, the Club Room provides a wonderful setting to enjoy a good cocktail and escape the snow.
The smashed avocado & pita is surprisingly good, not to mention the outdoor seating and fresh margaritas
Nice place to have a drink with some friends. In a little nook off the busy streets.
Great place to have a sit and drink! The Yard opens in the summer and is a crazy good spot to just kick back and enjoy. The bars have taste and nice guests most of the time.
Mosquitos. So many of them. 0/10 will not come back.
We had dinner there and while the atmosphere is lovely the prices are high. I was appalled to see that they charge a COVID sur charge. I think this isoutrageous. We wont be back.
Get the lobster cobb salad. Even the small is huge and delicious! 🦞
Fantastic oasis from life in NY.From the second you step inside, the vibe is one of being on holidays, enjoying good food and drinks with friends.Customer service is exceptional, which is a change from other places I have experienced in NYC.
This hotel thinks they are much better than they really are and it left a really bad taste in my mouth. I stayed their over Labor Day Weekend and the best part about the hotel was the door service. They were a very attentive group of individuals and met everyone of my needs. Room rates were high for the quality of room and service. For example, after a night at the hotel bar I woke up the next morning and reviewed my bill from the previous night. After leaving a generous 20% tip I noticed that the bar had already added a 20% gratuity to my tab. Whatever happened to working for a tip? Is the expectation that being a hotel located in NYC you automatically rate a 20% tip. The hotel ended up giving me a credit for the value of my tip. Regardless, this left a sour taste in my mouth.
Got there and was told a 30 minute wait so I entertained myself at the bar. OVER AN HOUR LATER, I ask the hostess whats going on. There has been TWO PAGES of names sat before me. She says some seatings are for three or four, were waiting to seat you for two. I challenge that there are many parties of twos that have been sat before me. The problem is no one has control of the tables, bar patrons will sit as soon as a table is open with no respect for those that play by the rules. Terrible management, insincere employees, trashy bathrooms, ...this place sucks. Stay away if you actually want to enjoy dinner.
What a gorgeous space! Wildly overpriced and the service is slowwww but the cocktails and the food is yummm. Won’t go back but am happy we stumbled upon this little expansive gem.
Cool outdoor restaurant but way too overpriced for such mediocre food and cocktails! Watermelon margarita looks pretty but just for the pictures brunch menu looks promising but once your food arrives is very disappointing ! I order the Maine lobster cobb salad and I barely got any lobster!!
Looooooove the watermelon margarita, great staff also
Good service and delicious pizzas. Loved the mist, too!
Superb hotel, cosy and design. They have been very nice with us despite of Sandy visiting New York and us this week... Will try to come backPrices at the bar / restaurant are quite expensive, but the rooms are very good.
Great spot, like an oasis in the middle of SoHo. The bartenders are really friendly, and the watermelon margaritas are delicious. The matcha colada is also pretty refreshing. The bar has water misters and the bathrooms are very clean and comfortable.Access from Broadway for food, but if you plan to sit by the bar, you can access from Thompson too. Back door entrance.
I definitely recommend this place , love the plants , best old fashioned cocktails, watermelon margarita , lobster roll is amazaing and our server Trim made our night he was super super nice
Cocktails, appetizers and entres are A FANTASTIC. Properly done with vegetables and oils and cheeses that are elegant. Event the fish filet was huge, tender, beautifully marinated and seasoned. Refreshing, Each flavor blew my mind In glass and on dish. Thanks
Swanky hotel with great bar and restaurant. Staff is courteous and rooms are well appointed. We will be back here again!
Beautiful scenery with excellent food & drinks
Great atmosphere with warm attentive service to boot....
A fantastic atmosphere and the Watermelon Margerita was delicious! Although, I got eaten up by mosquitos and spent the rest of my time in NYC covered in horrible bug bites. I recommend bringing bug spray.
Um, they served their lobster roll in a hot dog bun.
This is a fun outdoor bar with frozen cocktails and cocktails on tap in addition to a full bar. Theres reserved seating and bar tables. Try the Zucchini pizza.
Would not recommend. Very poor service and food was ok. Overpriced and not a great atmosphere. There was no music for happy hour.
Great cocktails and food in a really fun and unique atmosphere.
Great Food, Great Service, and so Great Hotel!
