A really laid-back, welcoming and fun spot with dive bar vibes, lots of great craft beer and good cocktails. Friendly staff, dog friendly. Nice.
It’s refreshing to see a bar do what it’s supposed to do. No frills, some food and some really great choices for beer. I didn’t know many of the beers on the menu, but with the help of the bartender. My friend and I made a few great choices. Try the Irish nachos too. The fresh jalapeños made the difference. Reasonable prices. Definitely make a return here.
In a neighborhood dominated by upscale cocktails and gritty dive bars, this classic gem stands out as your reliable, old-school hangout. It offers budget-friendly drinks, a cozy vibe, and satisfying bar eats. Irish curry fries smothered in cheddar? Delicious. Buffalo wings? Absolutely. Irish nachos topped with pork? Mouthwatering. Sadly, the Mexican salad remains untasted. On tap, youll find Guinness, Mexican lager, and Victory Pilsner, all freshly poured. The laid-back atmosphere and welcoming service seal the deal.
So I must say, I came during the beginning of happy hour after searching everywhere for a good vibe. Everywhere was empty. I came here... No difference. Could be because of the pandemic.Anyways, I settled and I regret nothing. The selection of beer, the food choices, and the staff was good. Eventually the place became lively. Maybe I came early. But regardless, Im glad I stopped in. The tacos were a bit over price but the were REALLY good. Below are the fish tacos.I recommend this place for any beer enthusiast but after 7. 5 stars easily.
Went back for a second night in a row to see the Yankees. Wanted to keep the win streak going.Had the grilled chicken quesadilla. Really good with a little kick. Ate it too fast, didnt take a pic.____________Came back after nearly 4 years. Used to come by more often. Place still had the same good vibes. Stopped to catch the Yankee game. Got a couple of drinks and fish tacos.Service was still attentive as it was 4 years ago.Chatted with some regulars at the bar. They were bunch of regulars her which I like seeingI remember they had a solid burger. Will get that next time.
A classic American beer bar. 20+ taps, great service, great range, just a perfect beer bar. Good range of cocktails too.
This place is amazing for whiskey and beer lovers. Their whiskey selection is expansive and surprisingly well-priced even for the expensive options. Great ambiance, Ill definitely be coming back.
A relaxed, neighborhood type dive bar. Its very casual and the drinks were standard and they had a good selection of craft brews. The staff were friendly - we came for a friends birthday and they gave us plates, a cake cutter and all of the utensils we needed.
Fools Gold exceeded the extremely high expectations set by my son. I had a fantastic pilsner.Espresso Martini was great.Ross behind the bar couldnt have been better. The curry fries.Jerky chips dipped in beer cheese.Dang.10 out of 5 stars.
Great bar. Big draft beer list, Brady hosts a great custom trivia, plenty of TVs, relatively spacious, solid food.
Great beer selection! Really good bar to watch a game and hangout.
Beers I ordered all had a nice head and were served quickly. Duck poutine was very good, however the chicken sandwich was excellent 👌.
This place has great food! The wings were huge and very tasty. The fries were dynamite too! Staff we encountered were very friendly as well. The bathroom could use a little polish, but wheteves 😂
Stopped by on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Great tap list and solid service. Will return next time I’m in the neighborhood.
Great bar good vibes and tasty food, what more could you ask for.Was in NY for a few days in May and we made Fools Gold our local bar.Covers all sports events and the Music is good and gets even better when the DJ comes on at the weekend.Big shout out to Ross the Barman who looked after us .We will be back .
One of my favorite NYC spots. The local crowd and the staff are amazing. Very easy to get to know everybody!Food, beer, and whiskey selection is fantastic, and they’re always changing it up to keep things fresh.Highly recommend for locals and those in town visiting. There’s also different nightly events through out the week (game nights Mondays, trivia Tuesdays, etc) … I recommend the trivia night! Host does a great job.
Always has an incredible beer selection. Great service every time as well. A must go for beer lovers
Great place to get a pint of craft beer. They have a good selection of them from different breweries. And of course they also have other liquor options as well. In food I had the quesadilla with bacon and it was a perfect accompaniment with my pint of beer. Overall the service is good as is the ambiance. Most definitely recommend it!
The service was exceptional. Our outstanding bartender, Roger, was welcoming and personable, setting a new standard for bartending in our view. Initially, we arrived as tourists and NYC novices, but after several visits with our favorite bartender, we felt like we had made a new friend. We eagerly look forward to returning and seeing Roger again.
Ace bar before you hit the LES - we lucked open it in the pouring rain. Truly world class line up of IPAs, sour and rare beers with great service from a busy barman. My partner had a great margarita too. Will try the food menu next time in.Despite the name and the artwork outside, no Stone Roses songs were played which is slightly disappointing but the 90s hip hop & RnB booming from the kitchen was decent! Bathroom also clean as anything, a rare find in the LES.
Semi-divey bar with 30 rotating taps. Some beers are available as a flight but most of them are served in single size, from 8 to16oz depending on the beer. A limited selection of cans and vintage bottles is also available. Pretty extensive food menu including all the typical bar food. Plenty of boardgames if you want to stay a while. And theres something going on every day of the week such as trivia, food and drink specials, and brunch during the weekends.
One of the best spots for beer in the city, and a great destination bar that still feels the right amount neighborhood-y. If you’re a self-proclaimed beer snob or a first timer, Fools has dozens of really interesting choices that go way beyond the usual suspects and really elevates local breweries.Great whiskey selection and food too— Great bar if you’re a singleton that’s just passing by, it’s a fun date spot, a perfect choice to watch a game with your buddies, or if you’re planning a party— The staff will really look after you.
Cosy bar with a great range of beers with sports on the TVs. Friendly, good natured staff and good service. Nice to sit at the bar and escape the crowds. Good happy hour prices too.
So glad i randomly stumbled upon this place while searching for somewhere to get some buffalo wings. I was not expecting a bar to have such delicious food! Drinks were great also, i saw they had a variety of craft beers. Bartender is friendly and chill. They were doing a trivia night as we walked in, the vibes were lively. Great place to grab drinks and food with friends!
I love the concept.. approx 30 different draught craft beers and a menu where all of them are described. The industrial style ambient is really nice. I can really recommend this bar for having some beers and chat or just watch sports.
Nice bartender, knowledgeable about their beers on tap and friendly. Id come back here for sure.
I come here for two reasons: the beer, and the duck confit poutine. Dont sleep on either. The beers on tap are always exciting and they have something for everyone (namely me, who hates anything remotely hoppy), the hard ciders are great, and the service is surprisingly on point for such an occasionally crazy establishment (try coming here at 10:30PM on a Saturday and youll get the disco ball, earth trembling music, and way too many people for your liking). I will brave all of the above for their poutine. The duck confit is sometimes a tad dry, but their herbaceous, luscious gravy and huge chunks of fresh squeaky cheese curd more than make up for it. Its not a particularly clean space, but the quality of food and beverages always hits the mark.
In a neighborhood full of pricey cocktails and serious dives, this is your go-to old school spot, with affordable drinks, comfortable atmosphere, and hot bar food. Irish curry fries with cheddar? Good. Buffalo wings? Good. Irish nachos with pork? Yums. Really wanted to try the Mexican salad but alas. Guinness, Mexican lager, and Victory Pilsner fresh on tap. Friendly service and easy-going ambiance.
This bar was packed when I ordered some food at the bar and their system of handing out numbers and getting you the food worked really well despite how full the room was. I’m writing this review to write about the honey sriracha wings. We got buffalo wings, my wife got pretzels, and my brother got honey sriracha wings. I stole about half of his and replaced his with mine. Not that the buffalo wasn’t good, but the honey sriracha was outstanding! I really enjoyed it, and I thought their cocktails came out really well. Solid experience and great wings.
Good vibes, good beers, good food, what more do you really need?Had a great time stopping by with Kills Boro for the collaboration event for their I Got Answers, beer with Other Half Domino, but they have a good 20-30 different beers available here and if youre into craft beer you cant go wrong. The french fries are also slammmmmin.
Awesome atmosphere and awesome staff. They were so welcoming and easy to converse with. Will for sure be back! Shout out to the owner Dave!
Pro: Nice dive bar. Chicken wings were really good. It was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed ourselves overall.Con: we were asked to get up from our table because it was needed for another party. We were never told when we sat down that there was a time limit..
Great place with an awesome, straight forward bar atmosphere, huge selection of beers and booze (nice whiskey choices), very good food, and excellent service. The bartender (big guy with a shaved head) does a great job even when its pretty busy. I try to make it here whenever Im in the area.
Hosted a birthday party here. Everything about the experience was top notch. The staff were all unbelievably welcoming and really made it a special day. Awesome DJ that played a mix of house and hip hop. Can’t believe I hadn’t found this place sooner, I’ll be returning for sure. Highly recommend hosting events here
Great beer selection and good neighborhood casual vibe. Two thumbs up for the duck poutine. Exceeded expectations! Docked a star because the service is pretty bad. Bartender didn’t really know the beer, wasn’t helpful, and it felt like we were bothering him even asking questions. It will stay on my go to places but wish the staff was better.
Beer maybe not quite as high end as some craft bars. However it’s a proper old school pub with excellent music.
A vast list of drafts to choose from. Good music, vibes and service, and they have a nice selection of board games to chose from. Favorite bar in Lower East Side.
Super friendly staff, great chill spot. Darts were fun at the back area
Very friendly and hard working staff. Well curated craft beer selection. Lost my hat during a crowded evening and they had it waiting for me the next day.
Always a good time! Went on a Thursday and ended up playing flip cup with new friends. Also tried their curry fries, which are the best Ive tried in the city so far!
Ive been here a few times. They have quite a few beers on tap. They have a great staff led by the Irishman. I havent tried the food but if its like the rest of the establishment, it should be good.
Classic pizza place in New york. Everything was delicious.
Went there for a weekly board game night. Staff is really relaxed and helpful. Beer selection is AMAZING, and rotates regularly. Food is also great. The prices are actually on the lower side for the food, slightly above average for the tap beers, but still not expensive. Plenty of TVs for sports.
Great beer selection, food is also great. Tends to get very loud and crowded though so its great if youre into that energy. They have daily specials too, Trivia Night is at 7:30pm on Tuesdays.
Great beer selection and always changing. Awesome staff and bartenders. Definitely a good regular spot.
Seriously great food. Usually at bars you get the basics at average to decent quality, but Fools Gold takes it to a new level. Their Mac and Cheese is awesome, but you can add some buffalo grilled chicken to kick it up several notches in spicy flavor, and the staff is super friendly. Well keep going here weekly :)
Really great atmosphere with a beer for any mood. The food is also really tasty- try the burgers if you go! The bartenders always had a good recommendation for beer depending on what I said I was in the mood for. Definitely a great spot for beer lovers- for me it was an acquired taste. The ambiance provides a great place for good conversations and good drinks
Best bar I found in NYC. Beer range was excellent. Staff were friendly informed and hospitable. The locals and other customers were an awesome group to hang with. With lots of TVs covering every game we wanted to watch and so many boardgames. This bar was like the perfect community lounge.
The craft beer selection is excellent. You can also get wine and cocktails here. Every craft beer is very good described and the staff also knows their booze well! The craft beer tastes really really good! The food was also good (had the melted cheese and the duck poutine). Staff very friendly and attentive.
Great spot. Staff is incredible and make you feel very at home. Amazing selection of beers and liquors. I’d highly recommend for a great, chill, neighborhood bar. The fish tacos and wings are always filling and tasty. We are big fans of Roger and Kim.
Awesome dive bar with a great selection of Irish whiskeys. We especially enjoyed the shot of Tealings.
This place has excellent beer, good and inventive cocktails, and usually at least one very good cider on tap. It can get loud and crowded. Food is good, not overly pricey, and is several steps above typical bar food. Service is fair, often a bit overwhelmed.
The manager Lindsey was super accommodating with tables and made my birthday extra special with shots on the house! The music and vibes are 👌 Thanks so much!
Cool bar space and good draft beer selection. Service was slow, but the crowd was probably more to blame than the bartenders. The Irish nachos were pretty good. The whiskey is overpriced for the most part, as are some of the bottled beers (80 bucks for a bottle, really?). Also, when it gets crowded, its almost impossible to get to the self serve water jug in a corner near the front. A final note: the bathrooms are slightly bigger than airplane bathrooms.
This is my go to bar. The food is great. GET THE COBB SALAD!!! Roger, one of the bartenders, is hilarious and a lot of fun to joke with. The staff is always nice and super accommodating. The tiny bathrooms are a little stinky so I always wait for the big one... But I mean the ski ball machine a trivia and bingo nights make up for it.
This used to be the meeting spot for CU Buff alumni events, and I think many still consider it a University of Colorado Bar. Great place watch the games with incredible food and drinks
Great beer selection. Really good food; if youre looking for recommendations, try the pulled pork sandwich or the truffle fries. Crowd is college aged through upper twenties for the most part. TVs all around so easy to watch the games, but no audio, just your typical bar music. Can be crowded and very loud which makes ordering and eating difficult.
Ive been coming here every once and a while for about 10 months, and this place is really just incredible. The beer selection is top notch, youre spoiled for choice. Price wise, its what every other bar in the area charges, and for the rareness and quality of the beers, its fair and to be expected. They also do good happy hour deals and whatnot. As for food, the muscles are some of my favorite, and I can also vouch for their delicious tacos. My friends who Ive taken here have all enjoyed their food. Importantly, its all the kind of stuff you want after a beer or two, and it always hits the spot perfectly (like a pho taco). Lastly but not least, theres the bartenders. Places like these can easily hire snobby hipsters to look down on patrons who dont know much about beer, but every bartender whos ever served me here is amazingly nice, helpful, and just happy to help you pick a beer. And whats more, they seem to have several female bartenders! Women serving craft beer is a rare find. The bartenders are all so nice, generous with free samples, and chatty, but not in a stiff awkward way, in a way that makes me think they like to build up raptors with regulars and get to know the customer. Always an amazing night and always a great experience here. My favorite bar in the city, and for anyone who likes beer, a top recommendation.
Some of the best craft beers on tap. Staff is well versed in craft beer and what more they are passionate about everything on their menu. I typically give 4 star so that establishments stay hungry and keep evolving but for these guys Ill make an exception. It doesnt hurt having Drew on board either. Dude is solid.
This place probably deserves 4.5 stars, but I didn’t try any food so that’s probably premature. A very cozy place with greats drinks. There is sport on the screens but it’s not invasive, almost like you can opt in. I must say that someone in our group ordered the duck fries and they looked insanely good.
This place made me feel like I died and went to beer heaven. Great always changing drafts (I believe they have about 30 or so). This is the spot to find that random unique craft beer on draft. Food was also surprisingly great. Be sure to check out their lunch special for a great food and beer deal.
We just randomly walked past this place and decided we would go in. Great decision. Cocktails were amazing and the garlic fries are the best in NYC.
Bartender Rodger was awesome!! We are traveling from Salt Lake City Utah and our experience here was fun! Decent priced drinks, safe environment and good service!
One of the coolest bars I have ever been too! Love the interior! The food tasted really good! Really loved the Irish nachos. I will definitely go back there next time when I’m in NYC
Excellent Gastro pub vibes with a deep and well curated beer menu. Large amounts of space at the back for medium sized parties and the food portion sizes are generous for the LES.Solid pub, would again.
Stopped in for an afternoon beverage or 2 while exploring the area. Warm and welcoming service. Nice bar food and reasonable prices.
From outside it has a grungy style and looks crowded since everyone hangs out by the bar. But then theres space towards the back with tables and chairs, a good space for a decent group. People tend to crowd around the bathrooms making it awkward to get in and out. There are two skee ball machines towards the back for $5 a play. Our group was asked to move twice, one for a reservation and another for a DJ set. In general, its an okay atmosphere. The beer list is long, but largely illegible since it was dark, far away, and the chalk was fading away. If you have time to review the drink list before the bartender arrives, youll have plenty of choices. All in all, havent experienced anything terribly wrong but nothing special either.
Roger is an excellent bartender and is available on most weekday days. Other bartenders are so so. Beer selections are superb and run the range. Usually 2-3 excellent craft IPAs.
Great bar with an amazing bartending staff. The space is always lit on the weekends and provides for a nice chill ambiance for a conversation over the weekday. Outdoor seating space is perfect for conversations or watching a game.
This is a great bar! They have all the drinks from draft beer to even Aperol Spritz! We met up with some friends there for a Saturday brunch and trivia. The staff was all great and the AC was pumping. The food was good, all standard bar fare and the employees were attentive. The trivia that happened was good too. We all had a great time and even found the Foto-Booth and skeeball. 🤓🤓
My friends and I had a really fun night - the cocktail list is hilarious, the beer selection solid, and the food awesome - until the waitress gave us a hard time for not tipping enough. I wasnt going to complain, but.........it took her almost an hour after we sat down to ask us if we wanted drinks, and that was only because wed already made a few trips to the very empty bar, aside the fact shed forgotten a bunch of things even after - it was quicker for us to make the 15 foot trip to the bar. All things not unusual at a bar, and I still gave her ~15%, which works out to about $2/drink, given Ive worked as a waiter before - the service certainly wasnt stellar or even passable to get the usual 20+% I tend to leave. Yet, she still had the nerve/arrogance to ask for more. Sweetheart, you EARN tips - dont take it out on your customers if youre unhappy with your job. Bar management: fire her ass - we had a perfectly fun night until then.
One of my favorite beer bars in the area. I usually go to their sister location after work, the Jeffrey in the UES. They always seem to have hill farmstead on tap, which always makes me happy. The atmosphere is to die for, It can get really crowded on Saturdays, especially when there is eagles games. Also to make sure to order the truffle popcorn, cheese plate and the MOST important is the beef jerky!
They do everything well here. At least for their beverage program. Havent had their food. They will always have some of the freshest beers in the city, even when they have a takeover, there are still some great options left on the board. Theyre cocktail program is also really great and thoughtful.
I love this bar, especially the extensive beer menu. Great atmosphere in a pretty large venue with lots of wood paneling, a long bar, and a few tables in the back. The beer menu is immense with a large draft list from a wide selection of breweries including several NY ones and a bottle list with a bunch of interesting options. Most of the draft list is comprised of IPAs and stouts but there are a few other choices like hefeweizzens and rye lager as well.
Had a pretty poor experience here, bartenders were very cold and rude/racist. I walked in 8pm on a weekday and it was pretty empty at the bar, the bartender ignored me and my gf for 10 min and then immediately served white patrons that came in after me. The brunette girl and brunette guy bartenders were both very cold and ignored us despite us trying to flag them down all while catering quickly to other white patrons. Wont be coming back again, and if you’re a minority I don’t recommend coming here. Don’t waste your money.
What you expect then you get food and just takes it to another level they take pride in what they serve.
Came here for a college reunion event and had a good time! The bar went so far as to draw our mascot on a chalkboard and I thought that was so cool. We were seated toward the back and had catered food (wraps and pretzels) and used our drink tickets to get some drinks at the front.Whether you were part of the event or not, most folks in there were just drinking and chatting away. A nice vibe and atmosphere, Id definitely come back in for a drink and a nice chat with a friend.Staff was so good at keeping up with finished food and drinks! Great staff here.On Site:1 accessible Bathroom2 small bathroomsBoard GamesOnly gave 4 stars cause I want to come back and experience a regular day, not a college event!
Cool chilled out vibe with about a gazillion different beers on tap. Not touristy at all. We sat with locals at the bar. Very welcoming staff and the Irish nachos are amazing.
Sever/bartender was awesome Food was really good i had wings plain & lemon parm ,waffle fries , steak tacos , & guacamole everything perfect only thing would be if your a iPA drinking this is definitely your thirsty Thursday spot! not much of a beer selection for pilsner.
Deep craft selection. The menu was listed on Untappd, but not up-to-date (eg I went because the Untappd menu said they had Alchemist-Focal Banger, but they didnt have it).
Layout/atmosphere*Long bar; eight TVs; high tables; large craft beer & whiskey selection; couple tables on sidewalk in frontService*Friendly bartender (Monica)Food/drink*Irish Nachos (Waffle fries, pickled jalapeños, crème fraiche, pico de gallo, fresh guacamole & melted Irish cheddar + pork) - delicious; nice portion size*Edmund’s Oast Sun Kissed (tap) - good; hints of orange; refreshing*Complimentary water jug*Potato chips behind bar for sale
Great beer selection on tap, relaxed spot
Loud, fun bar with a huge number of beers on tap. Good for out with friends or watching the game. Not a date spot. The food is surprisingly good. The bartenders are awesome - ask them to surprise you!
Im a big fan of this place now. Really great selection of beers and a pretty generous happy hour menu. The food options are really great as well - the wings are excellent. The bartenders are really great too, very friendly and attentive.
Great spot kinda trendy with a dive bar feel! Amazing beer selection. Lindsay is just the gem of hospitality. Get the fried chicken sandwich!
A great neighborhood beer bar with good snacks/bar food. Good for happy hour or a weekday drink. Has tables in the back for groups. Make sure you check the rotating beer selection they got some gems
Went for a late lunch for two, around 2 ish mid-week. Empty except for a group of three and a single fellow, all at the bar.Got a table, the bartender was super attentive and friendly without being intrusive or annoying, gold star for him!The decor gave lots to look at/ quirks to discover (got a giggle over the everybody poops sign on the 2nd bathroom)The beers were cheap and tasty. I think it was all day happy hour? The food was fine, reasonably sized portions. I got Irish curry fries- arrived with shoestring fries instead of wedges :-( but the gravy was wonderful. My mister got the duck poutine and a bit of chili. He didnt have any complaints. Will definitely be back!
Had good drinks and food. Truffle fries were amazing. Bartender and owner super friendly and attentive during busy hours
Fun bar! Perfect for a large group of friends!
Okay so fun little story my girlfriend, her sister, their friend and I were all here having a few drinks when this Australian guy comes over and befriends us and teaches us some Australian lingo. After that as we are chatting it up this fight stumbed into the bar from outside! This fight started outside but the people who were losing ran into the bar for shelter but it continued more inside! It was so crazy dude some girl got punched in the throat and her bother I think was on coke while it was happening! After the bartender threw the guy out that started it we helped get drinks for the guy and girl that were in the fight and helped them try to calm down. It was a crazy night! Lots of fun here nice people great service as well.
Potentially great bar ruined by arrogant and rude bar-staff. When a barkeep finally deigned to serve us my wife asked what a particular beer tasted like and he just pointed at the beer menu and walked away. Not interested in any interaction with their patrons except to take their money
Large bar, can be noisy. Young crowd mostly friendly and inclusive. Remarkably excellent staff, attentive but not hovering. Good selection of interesting beers and whiskey.
Sriracha honey wings is a must! Fun bingo night and great vibes. Highly recommended for a chill night
I enjoyed the food- good burger! However the service completely stunk. The bartender could not care less- was not responsive and seemed not very happy to be taking food orders. If I ended up there randomly again I wouldn’t be mad at it but wouldn’t choose to go back bc if the service.
Enjoyed the company I was with, my Ale Wife pilsner and the hamburger & fries! I will definitely return. Way cool vibes.
This is our favourite bar to visit when we come to NYC. Fantastic draft beer selection, tasty snacks, good service and great tunes. And in an awesome neighborhood. What more do you need?
Fantastic beer selection. Its a little pricy, but I went during happy hour and all beers were $5. We had some of the food and it was pretty good too.
Good beer selection, but not somewhere we go often. Staff aren’t all that clued up on the basics (what they do/don’t have on), and even when it’s not busy it feels like they’d rather be doing something else. When you’re going over the menu for a few mins wondering what to have (only to be told that what you wanted is no longer on), I can’t help but think the staff could have done something more helpful than cluster at the other end of the bar chatting amongst themselves. How hard would this be:“Here’s a menu, the doppelbock js finished.”Or...“Here’s a menu — the ones with lines through we don’t have any more.”Enjoy the sister spot (The Jeffrey) in east Midtown, though.
Got to meet Matt today, on his FIRST DAY pulling beers for this great little bar. It’s so fun to walk into a beer pub and get to have a true beer enthusiast be the person that greets you.Cheers to you all. Thanks!
I am a fan of Craft Beer ~ I love here! I am gonna come back again ~ next I’ll try that “feel like “tasty Taco
Had a great time! Ross was the bartender that serviced us and he was amazing!!!! Definitely recommend!!! Ask for Ross!
Amazing beer!
Great atmosphere the bartenders were super friendly.
Great Cobb Salad in a city where they are hard to find. Excellent service and ambience, with the greatest playlist Ive heard in years (Smiths, Cure, PIL, the Specials, Elvis Costello, New Order, et al).
Unbeatable selection of craft beers. Great spot to watch a sporting event. Pretty tasty and inventive food like pho tacos are a great compliment to the suds!
This was our first time in NYC. We spent 4 nights exploring all over Manhattan. This was by far the most inviting and fun bar that we went to. This place has tons of beer on tap, but the real gem is all the Bourbon/Whisky they have on hand. The bar tender was amazing and made my wife and I feel like old time friends. We ended up going here twice, this place made our 10yr anniversary trip unforgettable start to finish!
Fantastic range of beer on tap, and for an international traveller, a great way to taste some of the local beers.
Good food, good location, good beer selection, wildly slow service unless youre bros with one of the bartenders. There are better places.
Had a great time with a group of friends!
Love this place. Never too crowded. Good beer selection. There is ski ball in the back, though it is crammed in a corner
Excellent beer list with a great mix of local and regional beers(they even have some cans from the alchemist!). A good selection of food that goes very well with the beer.
Impressive tap list with over 30 different beers from across the US available
Chill spot.Chill bartenders.Drinks always taste nice.Interesting mix of patrons. Mondays they do boardgames.
Great bar, with a good selection of real ales. We didnt eat there during our visit, but the menu was tempting, with a fair number of choices.
Great sports bar to watch games and have a good beer with a burguer (which is excellent by the way). friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Loved it.
This was my first time going here and I absolutely loved it. So many beers and ciders on tap to try. The food was really good. The curry sauce for the Irish fries was amazing. The bartender was Lindsey and she was very attentive. Will definitely go back!!
I found this place by chance and went back a few times during the month I was working nearby, great selection of beers and the bartender was chill.
Hard to find any faults with this bar. Was here on a Sunday with a big group. Bartender was on top of everything, the drinks were tasty, and the food was surprisingly good. The chicken fingers were especially delicious, with some very crispy breading and homemade honey mustard dipping sauce. Tons of beer on tap, and a dart board in the back. Would definitely come back.
Pretty good beer selection, Im surprised of the space and location but im glad I was walking by. I had a nice saison and a sour, also had a half dozen oysters which were good.
Good beer selection and spirits, but a middle of the road vibe
Cool place with a cozy atmosphere, some decent craft beers and really good food to share.
This bar is great--long and eclectic beer list, never to crowded, plays music not just from this decade, and has darts and skeeball. My favorite place on the LES.
Always seems to be popping. Plenty of good looking people around. Very large beer selection, but it may take you a while to order a drink if its crowded.
Fantastic crew doing the most during these unprecedented times... Hope to visit more often once the vaccinations are in full swing.
Fun bar, great vibe, and a ton of beer choices
Great beer list, good food, nice space and always sports on TV, but the crowd generally turns me off.
Fun trivia nights on Tuesday’s and the soft pretzels are also really great!
Nice atmosphere, not too crowded and not too loud. Spotted some boardgames although I didnt try any. Bartenders and servers were all very kind. Large selection of beer on tap.
Just a great bar, solid bartenders, great bar food, watching the game or doing trivia...Great spot!
Nice beer bar. Great selection of beers on draught. Could do with not opening the front windows so wide, sitting at the front was freezing.
1st time but wont be the last . Huge , spacious bar with a DJ spinning on certain nights . Jay is The Man !!
We popped in for a few beers on the way to eat lunch at Katz Deli. Loved the vibe, bartender was friendly, and eager to please. Helpful to recommend beers or cocktails and strike up conversation if you please. The windows open up for nice days if you choose to sit and watch the pace of NYC walk by. We did not eat but the people next to us got curry fries and they smelled delicious. I recommend popping in here for a good time! Great bar, great beer selection, and fun atmosphere and great service
They have an amazing beer selection that isConstantly rotating. Elevated bar food. Tacos, truffle duck fries, homemade beef jerky. Need I say more. Daily specials, friendly staff, weekly events, games, etc! Love this place.
Nice bar, lots of games, good service.
Went for New years. Besides the huge crowd because of the specific night, the staff was great, though a few misdrinks probably due to huge crowd, and the drinks were good.
Nice atmosphere and good selection of beer. Must try all of them at happy hour.
Friendly and attentive staff. Poutine and nacho fries are large quantity and pretty good
Greats sports bar in LES. Good food options and Vibes. Fun games and machines.
Sat at the bar. Bartenders on super bowl Sunday night were extremely rude with bad attitudes. Beer+food were good.
Great 90s music and laid back atmosphere and the bartender gives good conversation! The front of the room opens up to the sidewalk so you can see the goings-on of the city. Try the Gunpowder Irish Gin for the best Gin experience ever!
One of the best curated beer lists Ive come across thus far; bartenders were super charming and the bouncer was hilarious! The Maui CoCoNuT Porter made my night🥰
Wow, best bar on the lower east side hands down!
Pull up a stool to this dimly lit watering hole and choose from one of 30 taps hosting the like of the other half brewery and hill farmstead. Not just another craft bar with a goose line.
On our NYC traditions list ... great spot for a beer and the fries out top notch ... bar staff is great and always a fun crowd
The food is good bar food. The nachos are pretty good and so is the chicken sandwich. They sell Smithwick’s every once in a while which I love! I also love coming here with Volo sports for flip cup after the games because the bar just welcomes in all the fun.
Craft beer paradise. Food is good solid as well. Only bad part is the location. No scenery or views.
An unpretentious, proper beer bar.
Loved the tap list, bartender super courteous
Large beer selection. Looked like a fun spot. I was there on a Tuesday and it got really packed. Definitely worth it.
Food is great, beers are really good and they offer a lot of options, when we were there there were 20+ different options! We would definitely come back, mainly for the Irish nachos that were superb!
Wish I could give negative stars, the bartenders are refusing to give the guests water when we have all paid per person for an event
I came here with my parents for a late dinner at a fun bar, and we got more than we asked for. The atmosphere is great, they have board games and skee-ball and great music thats not too loud to have a conversation. The buffalo chicken tacos (pictured) were amazing, as was my dads chicken sandwich, and my moms chili. Great selection of beer at a good price and great service!(xpost Yelp)
An amazing bar, great staff, great food and they cater to the sports fan if you want that & you have to check out the Stone Roses mural on the wall
Great selection of beer. Hot rum or whiskey in winter, great atmosphere and staff super helpful
Love it! Friendly and helpful bartenders and staff! Great selection of beer, pocket friendly prices!
Fools Gold is alway on our must do list for NYC!Very nice staff, drinks are reasonably priced and you get to play an assortment of provided board games! We have come a couple years in a row and alway have a wonderful experience!Try the Irish nachos they are awesome!
Fun place. Low key, not too obnoxious and eclectic crowd. Makes partying post covid mighty simple - recommend.
Lots of draft beers to choose from, great prices and lovely overall vibe
Awesome bar with an amazing craft beer selection and lots of bourbons and whiskeys to choose from as well.
Came here with a small group that got sold on an all you can drink premium bracelet, which surprise... Turned into sub-par-rail-chase-the-waitstaff-for-a-drink. I guess the joke is on me. Avoid.
Fools Gold NYC is a total winner! The buffalo wings are a flavor explosion, and the staff is beyond incredible – super friendly and on point. The vibes are just what you need for a great time. Five stars all the way! Cant wait to go back!
Excellent place in the Lower East Side! Fantastic and friendly service and right by Katzs!!
Great beer and friendly service. Food is perfectly serviceable for a place like this
The employees are rude, racist, abusive, and pushy. They pushed, removed our drinks while we still drank, and only allowed white people to enter without IDS while people of color were harassed to show id. They were extremely rude, I emphasize this point, as their security guard and staff are extremely unprofessional and makes one wonder if they should be allowed to work with the public. They were screaming at us since the moment we entered. We will never ever ever go back nor tell people to go. What a horrible and traumatic experience. We spent a big bill, and still we were harassed. Why have a business if your employees are this bad? The bartenders were extremely good, but that was it. So sad, the food was so good, but what is the point of eating good food and people pushing you off a chair? If you don’t have a reservation, rethink it. Do better
Service always friendly, food always good, beer selection always great.
Great NYC experience, cool bar, interesting decor, good food, good drinks... Really nice tender.... yougomeg
Great bar, dart board, good beer, what more do we need
Favourite bar in NYC, sports, food and tap list all excellent and friendly staff too, wish it was my local
Always a great selection
Great, ever-changing beer selection, nice bartenders and a fun vibe.
Great casual bar. Huge beer menu and excellent bar food.
Great atmosphere. The food is delicious. The staff is very kind, attentive.
Good beer selection and you can actually have a conversation here even on Friday night
Duck confit poutine.. i say no more!
Always welcoming staff and super helpful. Skee ball, darts, and the games in the bar always make it a good time !
Great selection of beer and food. The brunch menu is fantastic.
Was there just once and had a decent experience. Probably wouldnt go back though with all of the other different options around.
Great beers, great bartenders, and a great atmosphere. Really great place to have a couple beers.
Ambiance was good. Drinks were enjoyable. Kitchen was closed. Out of town visiting and we liked it.
Good beers and good ambiance. Great dive bar
Awesome beer selection, wonderful vibe.
Be sure to drink the official beer of the clam, highly recommended 👌
Great place to get some good drinks. A really great mix of different kind of beer and other drinks. Food is good too. Have been here on a Monday board game night and it was crowded with all kind of people playing, drinking, eating and having fun. Loved the atmosphere
Great space. Good drinks. Great service. Whats more to say.
Good beer selection. Always hard to find a decent sour.
Fun bar with nice drinks and food, friendly staff, and fun trivia nights on Mondays!
Great selection of local micro brewery beers. Music is pretty loud here.
Founders is the best stout I’ve ever had.
Great bar, lots of TVs and the they play the sound for games. Ask for Nino and Kim.
Excellent beer menu! Pretty good grilled cheese, too!
Excellent food! Great drinks!! Fun atmosphere
Great options of drinks and good atmosphere
Great selection, chill atmosphere, and bartenders willing to lend their expertise.
Top 5 bars in NYC, hands down. Huge selection and the truffle fries are the bomb diggity.
Great place for a catch up and feed. Good selection of beers.
Great selection of beers, and whiskey! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good whiskey bar in the area. Also, check out the place for trivia on Tuesday nights!
Very good selection of beers. It is a little noisy so having a conversation is a little tough.
Pretty average bar but gets the job done. Better than some other options in the area.
