Bubo has done it again. This breathtaking speakeasy with a twist of Mediterranean fare is by far the most attractive venue in Midtown East if not in Manhattan. The vibe, the food and most importantly the service and the people involved in the care and the detail built into the experience is why I come here almost everyday and every night! The best of the best only here. Their most recent addition to the menu is seen in the pics here. Peruvian with a slice of Japanese fare.

The food was incredibly flavorful, with every dish tasting fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The drinks were equally impressive—balanced, creative, and perfectly paired with the meal. The cozy, family-like atmosphere made the experience even more special, with friendly service and a warm, inviting ambiance. Andreas is so kind and welcoming. I wish I took pictures before the food prior to the demolishment :)

Highly recommend the brunch, great value and experience. The inside and cute and clean - opposite of lots of brunch places which are crowded and grimy. Bathroom is also clean!Service was great as well. Our waitress was very friendly and everything was timed well, not too fast or slow. She was also very nice to our 4 year old.The burger and mimosas were delicious. We were so full and remembered we still had dessert coming - so portions were very generous.

I went to Bubo last Tuesday to catch up with a couple of friends I have not seen in some time. The vibes and the food were both excellent (the halloumi and Pita sandwiches were amazing) and we all agreed it was the perfect place to meet up. I very much look forward to going back in the near future.

My husband and I came in on a rainy day and was pleasantly surprised at how excellent this brunch was! John our server provided excellent service and recommendations. I ended up booking their private space for an event! Highly recommend!! Great food, great atmosphere and an absolutely stunning bar.

Everything was amazing- from the service, to the ambiance, to the food to the drinks!Lexie was an amazing hostess. She was attentive, sweet and fast!The octopus was so tender. The wagyu burger melted in my mouth (even though I ordered it well done), my partner’s salmon was cooked perfectly.The wines (happy hour) were tasty and aromatic.Our experience exceeded our expectations and we’ll be back!

I stopped at this restaurant randomly while exploring the city. It had good reviews so I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, my experience was not entirely positive. It was a small restaurant but they were pretty busy. I only saw one waitress for the entire restaurant, including the outside seating. Another employee came up and spoke to the waitress while she was trying to work. I got the impression it may have been the manager. She continued to work and I could tell she got visibly annoyed as he kept talking and she was trying to work. I ordered the Birria Tacos and they were good, not great. I did appreciate they were served with three sauces. The green sauce was definitely my favorite. The other two were a bit underdeveloped.The worst part of the experience was the end. I received the tacos but was not acknowledge after that. I finished and wait for the check. The waitress was busy but the other employee that had stopped her from working was standing around. 15 minutes after finishing my meal I was still waiting for my check. I got out my credit card hoping that would speed up the process. Another 5 minutes + later the employee that was standing around noticed and pulled the waitress aside and made eye contact with me. She came over directly after and took the card. I don’t know if the other employee was 100% manager but if you have an employee just standing around then there is definitely some cross training needed.

Excellent food, classy vibes, good drinks. The halloumi on toast was surprising delicious, as was the grilled octopus and cauliflower. Is was super empty when we were there at 5pm on a Sunday 🤷🏻‍♀️ Nice outdoor seating too (long picnic tables)

Only half of the wait staff is friendly. Some will glare at you or answer your questions rudely, or be short with you. I had to flag the bartender down for 10 minutes to even get the drink menu and order even though there was only 1 couple at the bar with drinks.Their drink menu is great but not all bartenders even know their signature cocktails so every order will taste different and inconsistent.They should train their staff to be a lot friendlier and provide a better service. Otherwise, I love how much room there is (even outdoor seating), and the noise level/ambience.

Bubo is my favorite place to eat and have a drink in Murray Hill. It has a great neighborhood crowd but is also worth a cab ride from Times Square for anyone visiting that wants to get out of the crowd.The service is great! We always get a dozen oysters and the roasted shishito peppers. We have tried other things on the menu as well. The lamb and veal meatballs are a staple as well.Bubo is very clean and is tasteful adorned and designed.

Best brunch deal in the city probably. $21 for two alcoholic drinks, coffee, a main and dessert. Plus its really good with great service and atmosphere. Awesome place!

Stylish cocktail bar and restaurant in Murray Hill.My partner and I have stopped in a few times for drinks and oysters. Service is friendly, cocktails are exceptional, and the oysters are fresh. The food menu is also large, if you are feeling hungry.There is plenty of seating at the bar or tables if you arrive earlier (before 8pm).

If you are looking for a nice dinner spot with great food and drinks - this is the place!! We used to live across the street and been here several times before choosing their private room for our birthday party. And it was perfect!! I liked the atmosphere and most of the dishes, I recommend the fried calamari, the oysters, the eggplant and the mushroom flatbread.

We come to a Bubo for John. He is the best waiter in Murray Hill. The brunch menu is out of this world. There is a $24 pre fix menu that comes with TWO mimosas, a meal, a coffee, AND DESSERT. Couldn’t recommend it enough 💓

Highly recommend Bubo for your next dinner option or happy hour! The food is delicious and offers much more variety than your typical bars. The ambiance was warm and cozy and a great spot for a date night or hanging out with some friends. It’s located near a great area with the subway close by which makes commuting that much easier. Would love to come try their brunch next!

Happy hour from 4p-6:30p includes a few beers and wines. It does not include cocktails. They also have tasty $1 oysters, sweet and not too briny, at the bar during this time frame. Outside the restaurant there is a sign advertising $1 oysters, but note that the deal is only available during happy hour. I thought that was a bit misleading and when I called to confirm, the woman I spoke with told me she wasnt sure. She suggested that I come in and ask instead. That seemed a bit silly. On another note, Bubos brunch food is also affordable and tasty. In short, I do recommend this and will be returning.

Bubo excels in both service and culinary creativity. If youre looking for a spot where you can enjoy fantastic food in a welcoming environment, make sure to try their watermelon salad—you wont be disappointed!

Awesome cocktail bar with an intimate atmosphere and phenomenal staff. The cocktails we had were delicious and the prices werent too bad for pours of whiskey which I respect and appreciate. Would come back.

Consistently good food and friendly staff. Burger is arguably best in the neighborhood if youre willing to go for the price. The tacos and the chicken soup are great. I also like their ragu. My wife and daughter often split the lamb shank. Daughter is also a fan of the pasta.

Decent happy hour spot after work. Their cocktail list didnt have the variety I was hoping for, so that was a little disappointing. When in doubt get wine.

I had my birthday here for the past 4 years, and I highly recommend this for a private gathering. They designate a bartender in the back and the decor is absolutely stunning. They really pay attention to the details, such as having byredo soap in their bathrooms and pristine glassware. Surprisingly it’s no frills and very affordable. Great friendly service and quality is out of this world

There was a lot of back and forth communicating all the details, but the team and waitstaff were so accommodating and understanding, which I am so grateful for.The night of my birthday, everyone had a great time in the cozy space at the back of the restaurant, which was semi-private and allowed everyone to really get to talk with one another. The food also came very quickly, despite it being a busy Friday night at the front of the restaurant. We all really liked their array of choices on the menu, and thought everything was delicious: from the flatbreads to charcuterie board, tacos, grilled halloumi and more...) Drinks were great, and I really want to thank the team for their hospitality!For anyone looking to host a gathering for personal purposes, or even corporate events, I highly highly recommend Bubo. A wonderful little place that is off the beaten path. . Or is it??? Can there be an off the beaten path in NYC??? Amazing French onion soup... like the people who work here are from France??? A great outdoor seating section and the inside is pretty cool. Great staff that is very friendly, and knkws the menu well!!! The music is great and we were in fir a special treat as aregular was at the bar and man could he sing. What a truly great experience.

I had my groups holiday party at Bubo last night. From the minute I started working with Andrea to the end of the event it was a enjoyable experience. The room in the back was perfect for our group size. The space is amazing and the best for a private party with comfy furniture and the look of being in a friends house. The food was delicious and we plentiful, and even had lots left over. The bartender was very attentive and and polite. My guests all commented how great the venue was. I highly recommend this space for a private event and the pricing was very fair. Thank you Andrea and Luke and all the other staff, for an amazing night 12/20/2018. Lawrence

Bubo has a great location, with decent cocktail options and a nice seating area to go with an interesting menu. However, the execution on the menu seems a little bit lacklustre and the service, while extremely friendly, seemed to be very slow. This was likely because there were two servers handling the entire restaurant. After we ordered, the server brought us the wrong appetizers (immediately changed them when informed) and then stated that we never put in our entree order at all. Once again, they were very friendly and the meal was certainly not overpriced but hiring a couple more team members would definitely help.

Nice atmosphere and the staff was pleasant. Pretty much no vegan options short of plain French fries. I ordered a Greek salad without cheese which was good, and the dressing the delicious, but without cheese it’s a very small dish with just a few tomatoes, sweet pepper rings, and onions. More options for restricted diets would be appreciated.

I almost never write reviews, but for Bubo its deserved. I am there 1-2 times each week. Great change from the usual establishments in Murray Hill, and its easily my favorite spot in the neighborhood. Food and cocktails are top-notch. Try the zuchinni fritters, octopus and the pork belly. The 4 Aces and Boulevardier are my go-to drinks. The place is also lovely and the staff are super attentive.Separately, they have an amazing library area and back bar for parties. I celebrated a milestone birthday at Bubo for 50+ people and everything was just perfect. We loved every minute. Talk to Andrea (the chef) if youre interested in that. She custom-made my menu and added some off-menu items. Everything was delicious. I cant say enough good things. If you are thinking about checking it out, just go!

Great neighborhood bar with good cocktails. I didnt try the food, aside from a few bites of an apple pie, but the (Greek/Mediterranean) menu looked very promising (oysters!), and I would like to try it next time Im here.One important thing to note, I feel, is that this bar is actually much larger than it initially appears, which is why I put neighborhood in quotation marks. (There is what I initially thought was a somewhat similar bar in my neighborhood, but bearing this in mind, it is merely a fraction of the size.) Walking behind the curtains is vaguely like exploring a long-lost Egyptian tomb; it just keeps going on and on. The salience of this, I think, is that this is an excellent venue for parties or other private events: they will have space!

Went for brunch outdoors. Ordered one prefix with omelet and a avacado Benedict. The Benedict was amazing. The omelet was just ok and had too much spinach for my tastes. The breakfast potatoes were delicious. Really enjoyable breakfast.

What a hidden gem! The prix fixe brunch is an amazing deal with 2 drinks (mimosa or prosecco), 1 non alcoholic drink and 1 entree for an extremely reasonable price and excellent food. Ive been here for an engagement party and can attest to the excellent service, food, and drinks.

Cute little bar with a flair. The interior design is amazing and makes you feel like youre in a swanky New York City mad men episode. The food here is pretty good too. Check out the bathroom downstairs - the mirrors make it too good of a place to take selfies haha. There are a few small high tables near the front but nice couches in the back - probably for when the place gets a little more crowded. I love the artwork on the walls! Cute date night place!

We ordered a bunch tapas and fish tacos and loved everything, but the octopus was definitely the star of the dinner! Cant wait to come back with my coworkers!

Delicious food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service

Insanely good brunch deal, two drinks plus a meal and dessert for 24 dollars! Food was as good or better than any brunch I’ve had in the city and John our server is amazing. We’ve had him multiple times now and he’s incredibly friendly and personable with everyone, just makes the vibes 100x better. This place should be so much busier than it is. But for now enjoy being able to walk into an incredible place at any point with no wait.

Its also an enormously adorable restaurant/bar, much more chic than what I expected from this neighborhood (sorry Murray Hill). Will return!

We usually go for the Prix Fixe brunch. Its a decent price. The server is super nice and friendly. The environment is very nice and the food is great. I highly recommend brunch on weekends.

Ive been to a few parties at Bubo and its always an awesome time. Great place for engagement/birthday parties, work events, etc., very accommodating. The food is excellent and there is all around great service. Highly recommend the oysters, best Ive had in the city.

For anybody in Greece 4/5: grilled octopus, a dish that might, in ordinary noons, grant you limp glances of boredom from your fellow diners as you order--seeming to be unadventurous and banal. This dish, however, is reimagined; decorated with lemon, and festooned by a smooth, non-cloying lemon dressing that separates the mystical from the divine: it is worth the trip--and the traffic--for this assembly.

This was a favorite of mine when I lived in the neighborhood. Attentive service, fair prices, and great food for both brunch and dinner. I particularly loved their oyster happy hour and their prix fixe brunch menu. Highly recommend if youre in the area and youre looking for a nice, casual place for any time of day.

I go frequently and always happy to stop by. Great atmosphere, delicious drinks, and super friendly staff. Also found their hamburger to be really good.

The customer service in this place is soooo good, I can’t remember the last time the service was that detailed and customer oriented. The burger and fries were very good as well.

I found this place because I was looking for a wine bar. Little did I know it’s way more. It’s a tapas and wine bar. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable compared to other tapas bar. The food is absolutely delicious and goes beyond classic Spanish tapas and offers other Mediterranean specialties. Service is also great .

Came here with a few friends after work and loved the outdoor setup they have. The drinks were great and if youre as big a fan of cider as I am - I highly recommend the black cherry cider. Cant comment to the food as we didnt have any but I hear good things!

Service was terrible - We had to consistently flag servers down to get a table and order. They didn’t give us the apps first and brought the food all at once after a long wait? My friend got a baked pasta dish that was ice cold - when she told the server, the server took the plate, microwaved the dish, mashed the pasta up and returned it to the table. So unprofessional, complete waste of money.

Odd place. The menu us full of great sounding full 5 star restaurant but the seating is all bar and high top tables. The food as I said sounds great but we had the lamb shank and it was a bit dry and mealy. The roasted vegetables where mostly potato very oily and more stewed than roasted.

Dozen oysters for $15 is incredible.

I went there with a couple of friends from out of town. The bar was closing soon and we ordered a few beers. They have good selection of beers and the waiter was kins enough to give us a moment to see through the menu. Very chilled out ambience. I would love to drop by myself and relax here. They have a lounge area at the end of the place which is relaxed and open with lots of books on the shelf for decor. The whole place is tastefully done and is painted in my favorite color , blue.Be sure to check it out. Its right in the line of mercury bar, Joshua tree.

Best deal for oysters in the City. Get there before 6:30 p.m. Fresh and beautifully served. And the rest of the menue is excellent too. Madeline is a gracious and thoughtful bartender. Worth a visit.

We first got oysters, which were very salty for some reason. Then we had pasta, which was very bland and needed more salt and seasoning. They even put cheese on my clam linguine, and youre not supposed to put cheese on a seafood pasta. Overall not worth the money.

Went for brunch on accident since other options were too crowded so had low expectations, but the experience was fantastic! Very cool aesthetics (especially the dishware) with appetizing food and it is surprisingly affordable... $19 gets you 2 mimosas, coffee, and an entree (other combos as well). Not a place for boozy brunch nor a spot to watch sport teams, but a West Village-like venue on the East Side that is worth the visit.

While I’m more of a Ted’s person, Bubo is great for a little bit of a “nice night out” vibe. The attention to detail that this bar owner has is mind blowing.

The chicken and waffles are to die for. Their Sunday $1 oysters are magnificent. I highly recommend the this place. The decor is understated with a bit of old world charm.

Every place around here was packed. This place was not. Everything was average. The reviews here paint a different picture that make me want to give a second chance. Not awful just average.

Food is great, but did anyone ever look up the meaning of the name? Its a medical term, and quite disconcerting.

Awesome spot! There’s a gorgeous marble bar, scenic greenery outside, and to top it all off the happy hour menu items and drinks are both delicious and inexpensive!

Came to Bubo for some dinner and drinks and loooved it here! The vibes were dreamy- classy yet cozy- perfect for a catch up with friends or a date. The oysters, from MA, were perfectly sweet & so fresh, served with lemon and grapefruit- a MUST try and the best dish we ordered. Also loved the pork belly flatbread, roasted shishito peppers, organic tricolor carrots, cumin roasted cauliflower , and shrimp & mussels pappardelle. The cocktails we tried- four aces & whiskey sour- were amazing and great recommendations from the bartender. The beers on draft were also delicious- loved the nitro stout and cider! Can’t forget the olive oil cake dessert that was served with vanilla bean ice cream- devoured to the last bite. Lastly all of the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Would recommend this spot for anyone looking for solid bar bites & cocktails in a lovely atmosphere.

Really enjoyable place, with surprisingly excellent food, good vi es, attentive service, and generous/ creative drinks. For a family of four, cost $250 with tip, which is (sadly) very reasonable for Manhattan!

Very friendly waitresses, the water was always refilled immediately, the cocktails were very good and the food, the chocolate mousse with a hard chocolate shell and chocolate mousse with whole milk and white chocolate inside was one of the best I have ever eaten

Anyway, the atmosphere of the store and the friendliness of the staff were very good.This time I went with a large number of people for an all-you-can-drink party, but I would definitely like to go privately next time.There were many toilets and they were very clean.
