Solid cocktails and music, had a strange interaction with the bartender who tried to charge our friend 8$ for a Diet Coke, when the menu said 5$. Plain rude. Besides that, vibe and drinks are legit.
The space is really nice but a bit over priced in my opinion. There was a F&B min to sit at a large table in the back. It seemed silly considering it was a Thursday night at 11pm and not crowded. I ordered from the bar and spent $27 on one espresso martini. It was a great drink but a pricey for what you get.
Went for happy hour, took 30 minutes after ordering to get our beers. When we went to reorder after a long period of an extreme lack of service and repeated attempts to flag down the server, it was one minute past happy hour. No exceptions were made. Getting seated was a hassle, felt like everyone there was rude or stoned. There are so many better options than this tryhard bar.
My friends and I went for a happy hour gathering. The initial experience was positive, the cocktail was well-prepared, and the server demonstrated both friendliness and knowledge of the menu.Later in the evening, we requested a shot, specifying that we wanted the cheapest option available. The server recommended a bourbon, which we accepted. Upon receiving the check, we were surprised to discover that the shot was priced at $30.While we acknowledge that we should have inquired about the price, we also believe that there is an expectation of transparency and honesty in service. When a customer specifically requests a cheap option, it is unreasonable to assume that a $30 shot would fit that description. Despite our concerns, we paid the bill and addressed the issue with the server, who offered an insincere apology. We also reported the incident to the host on our way out, who similarly offered a cursory apology. Our primary concern is not the cost of the shot, but rather the lack of clear communication and attentiveness to customer expectations. It is the responsibility of the service staff to provide accurate information, particularly when a customer has clearly indicated a preference for a lower-cost item. While we have enjoyed the ambiance and cleanliness of this establishment throughout the summer, this experience has left us feeling dissatisfied and hesitant to return in the future.
Had a great time- until the check arrived. We asked for a shot of whiskey, and literally asked for the most simple one. The waiter (dark hair and glasses) recommended one without stating the price, and we agreed. Turns out *each shot was $30*. When we mentioned we had asked for a simple one and that we wish we were informed of the price, it seemed like she couldn’t care less about our frustration. We felt completely scammed.
We were a party of five. The place looks as if you traveled back in time. The vibes, the atmosphere, and the vinyl music are a great combo. All plates ordered were shared [sliders (3), duck fat fries, tuna tartare (5), charred carrots, grilled prawns (5), chicken karaage, skate schnitzel]. The favorites were: the sliders, which were extremely juicy and flavorful, the fries which came with a spicy ketchup and a garlic aioli, and the tuna tartare. The carrots and skate schnitzel were very underwhelming and flavorless. The grilled prawns are not really prawns. They are just medium-sized shrimp. The chicken karaage was good, but the sauce lacked a bit more flavor. The cocktails ordered were good and liked around the table. I will definitely recommend it and hope to go back.
The ambiance and cocktails were great. I got the Know Your Demo cocktail with Roe & Co. The wagyu sliders and duck fat fries were delicious
Great cocktails, consistently good DJs, unique atmosphere! One of the better spots in mid-town. Definitely a must try!
Cute spot. Music can be a bit loud - which was overkill since it wasnt very busy. Menu is overly complicated in its presentation in an attempt to be trendy. The one vegetarian item we had, I wasnt sure was vegetarian. $60 for 2 cocktails and half an order of chips and dip.
Had a private event here to celebrate after my wedding ceremony with 28 people. The waitstaff and bartenders were so knowledgeable and personable. Their general manager, Flynn, went above and beyond to accommodate our group and made sure we were taken care of. They all went out of their way to make sure that we had a great night from the second we walked in.The atmosphere is magical here. Dimly lit, spacious (but also intimate with how the seating is arranged in certain areas), and carefully designed all around. The food was phenomenal (portion size was perfect), the drinks were delicious, and the music was great! Some of the favorites from our group: Food - The ribeye, lobster cocktail, and duck fat fries. Drinks - Target Audience and Brand Ambassador.Wishing this place all the success in the world. Agency of Record will always hold a special place in our hearts. Id recommend this place to anyone and cant wait to come back!
Not the best place for happy hour. The space around the bar is too small and $40+ for a cocktail and fries? Yeah, no.
Great spot with music, tasty apps and great drinks that were fun and creative. We went as part of a work event and loved it.
Cool space . They charge you without letting you know for three “entertainment”. Only restaurant I know that charges you to see a DJ that no one even knows who they are. Drinks were good. They have cocktails that you wouldn’t think of. Waitress started very friendly but was pretty rude toward us leaving. Not really a space for me
An excellent addition to the midtown east area. Music is loud, but the vibe is great. Think clubby cocktail lounge. Drinks were great and food was surprisingly good as well. Really enjoyed the wagyu sliders and fries. Well be back.
Cozy and romantic and live DJ all nights and great bartenders! LOVE!!
A solid, beautiful bar/restaurant in midtown.Beautiful setting, nicely designed, accommodating, good food and good cocktails. The music was a tad bit too loud and the waiter put the default tip at 22% and was looking straight at the thing when paying. It’s the little things that made me shave off a star. I would’ve been happy to tip 22%… but I’d like to do that voluntarily when the default is 20%? Lol anyway, overall it was great and I’d be happen to return back. The tuna tartare was very good. As well as the duck fat fries.
Great atmosphere, chill and easy to have conversations. Decent cocktails, attentive bartenders. Good location near Grand Central
Can’t say enough good things about this place. Drinks, food, ambiance, service: 10/10. A focused menu with no fluff is rare these days. We had the best time, and the way they built the ‘60s ad agency vibe into both the atmosphere and the menu is something other places should aspire to. Excellent.
Vibes and decor were great. Can I say the drink was sizeable or satisfying enough to be $20? Debatable. As someone who works in advertising, I will give them immense credit for committing to the bit of naming their drinks after industry jargon.
Great atmosphere, fantastic bartender, delicious food, top tier alcohol selection. Definitely a gem in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back
Perfect cocktails. Charming and seemingly authentic decor - nothing feels forced. The team is lovely as well. I hope it becomes a stable.
Great cocktails ( I enjoyed the bourbon with berries cocktail a little too much) plus the grilled prawns were awesome. Bartender was really cool, offered some free dessert which was nice.
Great spot in midtown. Drew the bartender was awesome. Knowledgeable and made great drinks. I recommend the Mezcalum Old Fashioned. 10/10
Super cool place. A must bar to visit for cocktails
If you want a mediocre cocktail served by a slow, lazy staff - this is the place for you. Drinks were meh - no creativity with cocktails whatsoever - they’re “premade” and cannot be modified (aka they have 0 skill as bartenders). They also add (22%) tips before handing you the credit card machine to close out, and you can’t edit it - so it’s basically a trap. Don’t waste your money or your time - there’s so many better places in the area- hard pass.
Very cool place. The Atmosphere was good. Though, the drinks were $19 and it was mostly ice. I will include a picture. Honestly, a joke. Got an appetizer, it was fine and I believe cheaper than our ice drinks. I think $19 is a tad unreasonable for a drink anyways, but more unacceptable when the cup is filled mostly with ice. Genuinely not worth it and wish we would’ve had a warning before.edit after reading response:After reading your response and how unprofessional it was, I’m glad I left the single star I did. I’m happy you publicly shared and showed how this new restaurant can handle “constructive feedback”. If the server would have been friendly enough or attentive, it probably would have crossed my mind though that was not the experience we had. Also, just because the place is cool- doesn’t mean the service, food, drinks, price, or experience is. Thanks so much for reading through my constructive feedback, I’m sorry I hurt your feelings.:)
Excellent service, great music, great food, and decent drinks (maybe a bit syrup-forward). Overall five stars for the area!
The drinks are good. However, when our bill came out, we were charged $9 as “artist fees”. When inquired they told us it was for their in house DJ playing that evening :/ I am not even sure how this is legal. If you cannot afford a DJ don’t have one. Don’t charge your guests for that?! Felt like we were scammed!
SUCHHHH good food, amazing service, & delicious cocktails! Only thing is, the smell from the kitchen is a bit overwhelming & we left smelling like fried fish. 10/10 experience otherwise!!!
Great service! Great cocktails! Great food! Great vibes!!Such a sexy spot.
Expensive as hell and the $12 beers are only cool, not cold. Good service and great atmosphere though
Incredible hidden gem in the city. Vinyl DJs, great beverage menu and warm service. Highly recommended.
My new favorite place. A bit on the pricey end though.
Very cool vibe and great cocktails.
The drinks at the bar were awesome
The place is beatifull and nice, but they take cash but don’t have change 😒For me is a type of theft
Great bar and the layout is really nice drinks are overpriced,
Food is great and love the atmosphere
Absolutely incredible new spot! We hosted our engagement party here, and it was PERFECT. The space is beautifully decorated (even the cool bathroom!) with a fun retro theme. Amazing attentive service from coat check to bartenders; they set us up well and tended to every need. All of our guests told us the cocktails were delicious; and the menu has something for everyone. Loved the duck fat fries. Their music is a real highlight: the DJ brings great energy. So glad to have such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood, and already can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend hosting events here too—everyone was so impressed.
I hosted a private event here and could not have been more pleased. The overall vibe, specialty drinks, service and food were top notch. I actually shared the success of the evening with my entire company and encouraged them to host similar events with their clients. My clients could not stop raving about the atmosphere, food, drinks and our own personal mixologist. Cant wait to be back soon.
Great cocktails, great vibe!
Cool spot with amazing cocktails for a fun time - Sarah took care of us and was super nice and friendly! Definitely going to come back for a great experience
Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood! The drinks and the decor were both nice, but didn’t wow. Service was friendly and fast.
$20 drinks and they have the nerve to charge DJ fee per person. Nice vibe but you’re still a midtown bar….
Super chill vibes, great music on Wednesdays! Perfect for a low-key date night, or catching up with a friend
Incredible spot !! This was our 2nd time here , and my coworkers and I love the atmosphere and staff. Ribs are delicious , cocktails are creative and perfectly executed. This last time we had the pleasure of meeting Flynn the General Manager and we was extremely warm and welcoming who also gave us a small tour of the space. Congratulations to your entire staff , job very well done !!!
Really expensive and none of us liked our food or drinks. The service was also super slow, it took forever to get what we ordered & sometimes they forgot and had to come back after 30 minutes asking again what we ordered. Took an hour to get our check
Great place for two friends to meet, have drinks and food.
Great design, super attentive / friendly service, fantastic music & atmosphere, and people really loved the drinks
What an amazing place. Great music and great drinks. Cant wait to go back.
Extremely creative drinks. Ribs were shockingly good. Great after work spot.
Great place, it takes me back to the golden era of NYC I highly recommended
The service is above the top, the drinks are delicious, and the atmosphere is fun. I definitely recommend stopping by.
Cute place. Open late.
Fantastic nuanced and delicious cocktails
Great place!
The staff is wonderful
Potentially perfect environment but penalized by too high costs, which doesnt allow you to spend a lot of time there without going out with 300 dollars for a few drinks and consequently finding a place that is almost always semi-empty despite the good quality of DJ selection. Top food and drinks.
