I recently visited Victors Café, and it was a really nice experience! From the moment you walk in, the warm and cozy ambiance makes you feel right at home. I appreciated how they seated me at my table even as I waited for my guest to arrive—a thoughtful touch. The decor was spot on, adding to the inviting atmosphere. The service was great, and our waiter was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! I had the salmon with white rice and beans and yuca with mojo, which was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. However, I did find the portions to be a bit on the smaller side.We shared a flan de huevo for dessert—it wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it wasn’t bad either. Overall, I’d definitely go back for another visit. The cozy vibe, excellent service, and tasty food make it a worthwhile spot!

Lechon Asado was excellent. Moist, plentiful and tasty. Lechon means baby pig, so that kinda scared me, but I couldnt really tell the difference between peril and this. They accommodated my no cilantro request (because it tastes like soap to me). Chose to accompany the pork with the seasonal vegetable option which came out as a sizzling cast iron of broccoli, Brussel sprouts, carrots, onions, mushroom and peppers. Well worth it.Overall cost very reasonable.Dont drink but the alcoholic menu seemed extensive with lots of named choices on the cocktail menu.

Our meals were fantastic. We shared the appetizer platter and “duo” entree to enjoy a wide swath of the menu. Delicious. The atmosphere and service were fine, except that it has the pace of eating at a diner. We were in and out of the restaurant in 45-50 minutes. Probably not unexpected for Times Square.

Victor’s Cuban Cuisine offers an exceptional dining experience rooted in the rich tapestry of Cuban flavors. Starting with the Empanadas de Pollo, a perfect balance of flaky pastry and braised all-natural chicken, each bite was a delightful mix of warmth and savory goodness. The Pollo Campestre, slow-roasted in a hearty wine reduction with potatoes and carrots, provided comforting, homestyle flavors, while the Pollo Manigua, Cuban adobo roasted chicken breast served with sweet potato purée and a fresh watercress salad, was tender and flavorful, elevated by the mojo vinaigrette. The Fried Sweet Plantains were the ideal side, sweet and perfectly caramelized. Paired with the traditional Black Beans and Rice, the meal felt authentically Cuban, delivering the soul of the island in every bite. The Havana Cocktail and Mojito Clasico were refreshing, embodying the vibrant essence of Cuban culture with each sip.Victor’s dedication to weaving together Spanish, African, and Caribbean culinary traditions was evident throughout. Restaurant captain and our server, Armando Contolapiedra, truly made the service fly, ensuring a timely yet personalized dining experience that allowed us to comfortably make our Broadway show. His impeccable stewardship added an incredible touch to our experience, leaving us eager to return.

This was a really great dining experience. My friends and I chose this place based off the reviews to have our reunion. The ambiance, the decor, the friendly staff, the food and the drinks were amazing. I arrived about 30 mins late for my reservation and was very happy that they were able to still seat us. I ordered the signature drink, Coconut Mojito, which was a first, and BABY, it was the very best mojito I have ever had. Soooooo refreshing! Its so good that I am planning to return with my fiancé just so he can taste this drink. I ordered the fried Branzino (it was the special that night) and I can tell you, it was everything. It was the kind of dish that you want to make it last so you chew on it slow. I had to savor the moment. Even the black beans (served family style) has a very unique and very tasteful flavor that is sticking to my memory. Everything that was served, including the appetizers (I had the empanadas de pollo and tropical chips) are memorable. Give yourself a special treat and visit this restaurant. You will have a worthwhile experience. I plan to visit again before this month is over. So sorry for missing taking pics of my food, once that food hit the table, we went all the in. Lol!

The food was mediocre, the food and portions were tiny and overpriced for the food being so bland. The service was really slow we waited 20 mins for appetizers and even longer for the actual dishes. The server we saw a total of two times, wouldn’t recommend. The food looks stunning but tastes like garbage. There steak with chimichurri I had high hopes for it was hard to chew, tasted like smoke on the grill and had no flavor. The paella was just fishy and the Cuban sandwiches were sweet from the buns and lacking flavor from the actually meat.

The food was solid, but the service and price weren’t.With no alcohol, I spent nearly $200 on three entrees and two appetisers for the table. The camarones enchilados is a highlight, and seems to be of good value but skip on the empanadas, tostones, and paellas. The service was low energy and infrequent, though they did remember to fill up our water cups which I appreciated. I did however not appreciate being intimidated when it came to tipping - the waiter held the machine and it autoselected to a high percentage. It was just an uncomfortable experience.

The opulence of this venue is wonderful. The fans shuffling amid the plants hanging from the well lit ceiling is so therapeutic. This cafe is situated in the heart of time square within walking distance of all the greatest theaters. The portion sizes will reflect the prices and I am so great full for that. We left well fed and a little boozed! Try the Bacardi rum coco mojito and thank me later. Our server Victor was very professional and always helpful with fresh napkins and drink suggestions. I will most definitely be back for more of those delicious eggs Benedict and brisket.Wonderful job everyone. Have a great day!

We decided to come here in the spur of the moment, quickly made reservations and walked over. They were organized and seated people in a timely manner. Those without a reservation they gave them realistic wait times and/or let them know what seating would be available. This is already a step up from the location we left.We had a great time here. Our waiter Diego was awesome! Diego made the dining experience that much better with such a friendly Pleasant personality. Talk about knowing good customer service! A+++As previously mentioned this was a spur of the moment visit due to leaving from a different establishment so we made last minute reservations that were accepted and honored without issue. We arrived a few minutes early but were informed that it wasnt a problem and we would be seated soon. The restaurant may look small at first glance but its actually pretty spacious. We were seated in the area with the skylight which was great since it was still light out.And the food!? Awesome!!Our table spread consisted of: maduros, tostones, Ropa Vieja with white rice and black beans, Arroz Con Pollo, ensalada de palmitos y mandarinas, ceviche de camarónes, and flan. Everything was delicious! The ropa vieja was flavorful and the beef wasnt so shredded it looked weird or inedible. Even the black beans were good. It wasnt just a side of black beans plopped down in a bowl. The maduros and tostones both made just right! The maduros wasnt mushy or under cooked and the tostones werent over cooked and rock hard. The arroz con pollo had nice juicy pieces of chickenThis was a plus because we were trying it out during restaurant week to see if we would want to come back in the future. We also tried cocktails and they were the white sangria, the coconaty mojito, and the Hemingway daiquiri (which isnt like a typical daiquiri). Plus we didnt at any point feel rushed which is a bonus! After a hectic frustrating day coming here was a great ending and a pleasant visit. We are definitely going to include Victors Café in our regular rotation!

I started with the Empanadas, my boyfriend had the Croquetas, then we both chose the Cuban Eggs Benedict and when we were done they proceeded to bring our desserts and asked if we wanted coffee or anything else. I, of course, had a cuban coffee, my boyfriend had a cappuccino. Our visit to this restaurant was beyond perfection and we definitely wish to come back and try more menu items!!!PS: Shootout to the restaurant owner or manager, they are a Cuban restaurant and I loved hearing every team member speaking Spanish at some point. Id heard about Victors but could never go. So, on a Friday, my husband and I went. The host was friendly and seated us quickly, although we did not have a reservation. Our waiter was patient and engaging as this was our first visit. I had the encrusted snapper and my husband had chicken. We ordered drinks and I liked that the Mojito didnt have a strong alcohol flavor (a sign that it was mixed well). There was a family at the next table and the dad had oxtails. His food looked so good that I took a picture. The downside was that we mixed up my desert order so I had to send it back for the correct item (it was still missing the coco ice cream). The flan de huevo was basic. Each table receives white rice and black beans. I prefer my black beans more seasoned. Then there was the cost. For gaucamole, 2 entrees, 2 cocktails, 1 bottle of water for the table, and one dessert, it cost about $200 (including tax and tip).Victors will be a treat because weekly would be over $800 a month for two people.

Ambiance is nice to enjoy good company but food isnt that good, portions arent the greatest and you dont get what you pay for. After a $300+ bill (1 app, 4 entrees, 2 beers, 1 cocktail) I left hungry.Churrasco was good but plain. Probably the worst red snapper Ive ever had.$45 for the app (commercial pic included). But as you can see from my own pics, it isnt as nice as advertised.I get you pay for location, I didnt mind paying $45 for a pitcher of sangria (at the bar, not inlcuded in $300+ bill) but there is another Cuban restaurant within 10 blocks, that has 2 floors, bigger portions, similar prices but youre stuffed when you leave.I wouldnt go back, just my personal preference/opinion.Staff was great though. Also, keep in mind, that you never get a 2cd chance to make a first impression, so you have likely lost a customer (who lives just a few blocks away) for life

Once we sat down it took over 45 minutes for our food to come out, our meals were luke warm and they forgot part of my nieces order. The manager was nice enough to comp the missing item. This place was recommended by a co-worker in VA. I have no idea why this place only has a 4.4 review rating, it’s literally a 5.0, a 10 if there was a 10. Best cuban food I have ever eaten!!! We’ve eaten cuban food in the best places in Miami many times and this place beats anything I have ever eaten in Miami and around the USA!!! This will def be my go to whenever I come to NYC!!! A must try when visiting NYC!!

Love this place! The food is delicious, the waiters are so cordial, and wear the traditional chacabanas....and the live music!!😍Been here 4 or 5 times, had the chicken, churrasco and fried fish. The chicken was the best, but all were delicious! Got the tostones with mojo sauce, and flan and Cuban coffee to finish it off. Its a bit pricey, but so worth it!

Victors is our favorite Cuban restaurant in the US, including places in Miami we have been. The service is attentive without hovering, we never feel rushed. The food reminds us of the best places we have eaten in the Caribbean, flavorful, the perfect balance of bright and tart with rich and savory. If you see goat or ox tail on the menu, order it. They know how to cook those meats. Save room for churros! The food was so good that I forgot to take pictures.

Felt a little bit like our server enjoyed and engaged with the table next to us a bit more, so our service was a bit boring and lacking. For example, he would be cutting up with the tables next to us, turn around and give us the check with low energy, and then turn around again to cut up with the next table. Just off-putting.The food was nice. Heavy on the plantains. Great atmosphere, and the drinks were incredible.

It’s an okay restaurant, and no need for a sit down meal if your group wont be large enough.Larger group, like family, gets more intention, faster service in terms of receiving food, and real conversations. We were the second to sit down for a lunch after the restaurant opened; 2 big family sat down after us, but both received many plates of food before we actually had anything to eat; u can tell the difference in terms of the willingness of engaging; we didnt order any dessert, as we knew it will take longer and longer time for the person to come over to take our order, and Im tired of his dry jokes and fake smile. For Cuban food, at a lunch time, I didnt see any ceviche dish where has shrimp & white fish, but only salmon, from this only, I dont think this is Cuban enough for me.I wont be back & I will tell my friends not to.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Good food and pleasant service. We were here for Thanksgiving and the Cuban twist on the traditional meal was very good. Just wish they put more potatoes on the plate. The amount was really tiny.We had to wait a long time to be seated even though we had a reservation, but the manager came by to apologize, which was very nice. She also comped the coffee to make up for the wait, which I am glad she did as I found out that they charge for refills (and I really do not like when restaurants charge for refills, especially when spending upwards of $100 for dinner). Given the nice evening, and the very gracious manager, I upgraded my review to five stars.

The food did not disappoint it was prepared and presented exquisitely! Appetizers, main course, dessert delivered the perfect combination of flavors. Knowing this is located in the heart of the theater district the staff treated us with the attentiveness of VIPs. It was just right for our priest theater dinner, we didnt even have to wait for a table despite not having a reservation. It was a Thursday and we got there around 5:30, but they got us in and out very quickly.Absolutely cannot recommend this place enough! Every bite was a rediscovery of the delicious flavors there were to offer 🥹(also, our servers name was Victor, so I dont know if they just all say that, or if it legitimately was, but it was absolutely perfect and he was wonderful and attentive, as was the rest of the dining staff).

Disappointing experience- ruined a birthday celebration. I’ve come to this restaurant on several occasions and loved the ambiance, food and service. This time it’s clear they overbooked and didn’t know how to handle their customers in terms of getting people out of their tables to make space for the incoming customers. When we first arrived, the entryway was flooded with people but I thought it was fine because we had a reservation. It seemed everyone had a reservation and were just sitting and waiting way past their time reserved. The person at the front said we were checked in but there is a wait and they couldn’t give us an estimate because they would be lying since they don’t really know. Apparently a lot of people were either taking their time with their meals which yes I understand, but there were people just sitting after they received their checks. Clearly a managerial issue if you can see the front is flooded with people waiting and there are just people who are done and sitting. Why not ask them to politely make space to clear the table?I get a lot of people want to enjoy their experience without being asked to leave when they are done but then the restaurant shouldn’t overbook. People come to the restaurant in that area not just for the food but because they have Broadway shows to attend and it’s close by. Waiting like that could absolutely cause someone to cut it close or just miss the opening portion of their show.Luckily after 40 min and still not seated, a table opened up by the bar which is unfortunate because the whole point was to experience the ambience of the restaurant and not sit by a cold door that keeps opening. Either way we sat there for fear of waiting longer and missing our show.I have to say that I am extremely grateful for our waitress, Kate. She made the whole experience a positive honestly. If it wasn’t for her wonderful personality and service I would have been over this restaurant. We let her know the time of our show and she actually wrote that down when taking our order. And the food came in a snap. Kate was attentive, constantly filling our glasses and checking if we needed anything. Perfect service from her. The food too if course was good as I usually know it to be.Overall, this restaurant needs a better system for reservations or tending to customers and rotating them in and out when they know it will be a busy night.

We came here on a Saturday night before going to see a show. The location is convenient to many theaters. Our server was fantastic at being mindful of the time and food came out quickly. The atmosphere is fun and feels like you are in a tropical oasis. Another plus is that we did not need reservations, although the restaurant was very full, so we may have gotten lucky.Unfortunately, I disliked the food. I found it bland and either under or over cooked. The seafood paella lacked seasoning. I had shredded pork, which was tough rather than tender. The yuca that came with it was flavorless and mushy. We also had the appetizer sampler which was a let down. The salmon ceviche was the best dish of the night. This seems like a tourist destination. I would come back to try drinks before a show, but would avoid their food.

I ordered the pernil and it was a big chunk of fat. So my entree was changed to Ropa Viega and it was salted. The rice morro was not up to par. The appetizer were good. Crowded, noisy, and chaotic (it was a Saturday so that may have contributed). There was live music that was a bit loud contributing to the noise. It seemed that a lot of people with reservations were waiting in the small lobby area long beyond their reservation time. This happened to us as well.Once seated, the wait staff was a little slow (it was busy). However, they were attentive and efficient once they attented to us. The drinks and the main courses were good. One desert was good, the other so so. No need to add mint to Key Lime pie.Note: When reserving, if you chose the lounge, it is very small and cramped. The chef Jose Luis was kind enough to come out to our table and we were able to personally thank him for a job well done. My friends will definitely be back to Victors Cafe. They will as well refer people they know to come and try some good food s ; whenever in NYC. A reservation is something I would suggest for it gets pretty crowded. The atmosphere / ambiance is wonderful and a place you would be happy to have been able to experience. We got our hopes up and were disappointed. Service was good to start, but then the wait time for appetizers was way too long. The Bartolito was the appetizer recommended by our server, and it was ridiculously small (3 bites of food) and really not that flavorful. My sons plate came piping hot at the same time as my at best room temperature plaintain chips (again about half the portion I would have expected) and cubano. I will say the cubano was savory. But this was not a good value, and we ate at a diner in Queens that was 10 times better for half the price. This was the first time in about 5 years that I was honest with the server and said I was not satisfied. The response was, Oh, really?! I will let them know and then no follow-up, no offer to make things right, and no discounted check.

Service was wonderful. All were very attentive with us. Our water glasses were never empty. It was a bit of a wait to sit, even with a reservation, roughly 20 minutes but it was worth it at the end. Food was delicious, desserts were wonderful. Coconut mojito was great. Would definitely recommend but be prepared to spend a few dollars

Champagne Sangria, Chill Bar vibes, patrons seem to enjoy the atmosphere and flow. But food has fallen off a bit. My Ropa Vieja(their signature dish) was way oversalted amd Arroz con pollo was not what I remember it to be. I’ll lkely give it another shot but I will be sure to order something else.

The best Cuban food I have ever had. With that being said, I am from WA where cuban food is not nearly as prevalent as I would prefer. I had a Mojito and a Cubano and both were absolutely phenomenal and service was top notch

Authentic atmosphere and staff gives Victors that extra pop. Bar is tight space to wait, but the cocktails compensate well. Red Snapper ceviche and Oxtail are must haves. Gluten free friendly as well...my better half loves this place. Get reservations early as most nights they are completely booked.

I ordered the frita it was 15 dollars and I was 3 small little sliders that we cold the bread was cold as if they pulled it out of the freezer and the meat was not cooked all the way and it was also cold I asked for a coke and they would give me a very skinny bottle of coke in a glass and a small skinny glass cup filled with ice so the whole bottle would be spent in one glass. The empanadas were spicy which they are not supposed to be and the croquettes were dry and cold.

- Firstly, staff here is amazing!!!! I was about to walk out after feeling like I was left out in a corner, but they brought me to a different table to be met with great food and service. It was a pleasure to meet with GM Francine (I hope I spelt that right) and Soul and the other hostesses.- The manager and GM even checked up on me at my new table. The effort they make to ensure their guests happiness is something I wish all places had. I’ve traveled a lot and their hospitality is top notch. Food and overall experience muy bien.

Raised in a Cuban household, Ive eaten plenty of Cuban food throughout my life. This place, although pricey, is superb. The sandwich Cubano is moist and wonderfully constructed; the croquetas were crispy and the cocktails were just right. 10/10.

I highly recommended this place. Great location, delicious food, and excellent service. I was really impressed by the sir who served us. We were there for my husband’s birthday, and the attention was perfect. They signed a birthday card for him. Thank you!!

Mothers Day at Victors Cafe...what could be better? Excellent and flawless service...the Sangria is a must, as is the Cuban sandwich, which was not on the special menu that day ( only at the bar) but our awesome waiter made it happen anyway. The food was amazing!!!! I had the Ropa Viera. Will go again when in town. Great experience.
