The bartender was quite rude to us, he doesn’t seem to have much customer service skills. He first ignored us for a while then made us get up from our table and move even though there were plenty of empty tables around. Weird vibes.
Cozy wine bar, great selections of wine. we stopped by on our walking thru NYC and we found this little bar, it was super welcoming.Perfect spot to get away from all the city stress and movement and just relax
Lived above this place for years. The best staff & cocktails. Just a cozy New York place.
Went here for a quick rendezvous with a friend. Got there early and literally no one was there (5:45pm on a friday). Had a 6:30pm reservation as well. Was told could sit anywhere; so we sat in the back on the couch. About 1.5 hours later, one of the staff came over and said they have to kick us out because they have another reservation. I asked if we could move to another empty table; they said you can go next door. GREAT service! Felt like we were in some chop shop that just turns tables and hopes they can get the most alcoholics in there so you drink a ton and dont notice the mediocre food offerings. Wont be returning. Garbage service. Garbage food. Okay ambiance. So many superior places in West Village, this one isnt worth your time and money. Here’s my response: 1) you came to us at 7:15pm. Not 8pm. I was happy to leave frankly. 2) your other reservations aren’t my problem. I had one. I also asked if we could sit there when I arrived l, no objection then. Maybe a little forward thinking about your future commitments would help. Again zero change in my views but don’t make up things like we left at 8pm. Not true. Sorry I am not an alcoholic who doesn’t drink enough to make it worth your while. Adios.
Great ambience, amazing service by Sinan.
Nice place for a cocktail or wine. Small and cozy. Prices are standard to the area but you dont have as much noise. Good for a place to have a drink and talk. We had wine but the food looked good too
We love to go to Turks & Frogs. The service is excellent, Anina our server helped us select wine & introduced us to new offerings in food & cocktails. Definitely a great spot for a post-dinner cocktail or even kicking off a girls night. Thanks Anina!
Such a beautifully decorated cocktail and wine bar. Sinan is a such a sweet and welcoming bartender. And the olives are great too!
Love the ambience and decor, staff was great. Only complaint is that it feels really tight on a Friday night, not the most comfortable feeling.
Wonderful spot for a first date! The owner and waitstaff here helped me snag a great table, gave us just the right amount of privacy, and their wine was terrific. Perfect to pair with their place next door!
Had a birthday gathering here recently and the staff was very accommodating to rotating shift of people coming and going over a 3-4 hour period. We all had a great time and Id spend my birthday evening here again. Food, wine and cocktails were all wonderful!
Great place for drinks and/or food. Very cozy and fun spot, great atmosphere for early night cocktails, last stop night cap or to hang out all night. Hidden gem, great staff that makes a true effort to enhance the customer experience. Don’t miss it.
Loved! So cute and quaint. Cocktails are great.
Great date spot! Excellent, delicious wine selection and small bites! Very cozy ambiance and knowledge staff!
What a wonderful and charming place. The wine list is tailored to give the best experience to any client from occasional drinkers to wine connoisseurs. The food is delicious. My favorite is the charcuterie plate. But what makes the experience wonderful here is the staff. Sam, Engin, Orhun and Tino made every visit an amazing one for me. A must see if you are in the West Village.
One of the best wine bars in the city. Cozy, relaxing with an extensive wine list. Nibbles are also great, especially the cheese Nd charcuterie plates. Highly recommend coming here for relaxed conversation.
Nice, crowded in the middle of the night.
Great place with a nice decor and vibe. bartenders are friendly and very knowledgable!
Charming little wine bar - great for dates or a catch up with old friends. The wine list of extensive and the charming bar staff top it off!
The food was pretty average and the wine selection was really bad we tried several wines and all were very poor quality and taste, we only ordered out of guilt.
Really good, interesting wines. Eclectic decor and friendly staff.
This place is fantastic. Great wine selection and the space is lovely as well.
Walked-in with friends an hour before closing. As soon as the server came over he announced that they are closing in one hour. I tried to reassure him that we would definitely not stay later than their closing time specifically because I personally work in the restaurant/ bar industry and understand how things roll. We ordered 2 bottles of wine, the server brought us the content of the bottles already poured in glasses without offering a taste first. We gulped down the wine and 2 of my friends decided to order cocktails. Mind you, no last call was done yet. This time the bartender was the one with the attitude. Folks, things are simple. If you dont want people walking in an hour before closure just dont accept them. Better tell people to come back another day than accept them and serve them with bad demeanor. We were made feel totally unwelcome and rushed. Its a shame because it looks like a nice spot.
Both the food and wine were delicious. We had a large party and they really accommodated to us.
I went here around when they opened, probably 9 or 10 years ago now. It was very cute. Perfect cozy date, or post-dinner spot. I felt the need to review today in order to offset the non-drinker who thought that 2 apps should rent them a romantic table in the west village for the evening.
Great wine selection and atmosphere, good food as well!
Great place for a quiet conversation. Excellent wine selection. On fleek!
Stocking your bar with all the spirits humanity has invented is not enough. You need bar staff that know what to do with it, and bar ware to serve everything you stock. Having bar staff offering you VSOP cognac in a water glass is not acceptable. Especially not with the prices you charge.
Amazing wine. I would recommend to try the flight of wines. This way you get more flavour
Decent happy hour special. Very chill at 5pm which was nice.
Favorite local wine bar, best cheese board on the city.
Sal is an amazing host. Lovely wines and food.
Recently went to Turks & Frogs with 3 girlfriends on a Friday night - two of us were drinking and two of us weren’t. The waiter comes up to take our order and wouldn’t serve us when he found out only 2 of us were drinking. He was so rude when explaining how it was not worth his time to serve us and was unapologetic. We were all in awe. Will never be going back to Turks & Frogs as that form of discrimination should not be allowed today or ever.
You can impress someone with this cozy intimate spot. Better have some good conversation skills
Has a lot of potential but everything runs slowly. Also they first served others that came in later. Waited an unreasonable amount of time for a few cocktails.
The waiter added tip by her own, after I signed the check.
Male bartender is extremely rude. No concept of customer service. Such a shame for such a great bar.
Excellent food and lovely wine. We stopped in after functions in the Village. Had Turkish meatballs with yogurt. Zucchini pancakes. And Turkish beef sausages with rice and salad. All excellent. Very well spiced, especially the meatballs. Argentinian Malbec was delicious and reasonably priced at $48. Cozy, romantic place.
I adore this place. The decor is charming and cozy. The staff are lovely. The wine is good. And the zucchini pancakes were so good I ordered them twice.
Amazing wine list in a really friendly, smallish bar. Went with a friend, but looks like it would be great for a date and small groups too.
Very low key.Great wine
Great neighborhood little place in the West Village. Awesome and Courteous Staff, excellent drink selections, and outstanding menu. Perfect place to sit and conversate with friends for a little while.
I love Turks & Frogs and its neighboring sister bar Orient Express. These are the only two wine bars in the W Village that you can reliably find a seat in, and have a conversation without shouting. The drinks are great and the selection of snacks are perfect if you are looking for a bite to accompany your delicious glass of red.
Had a lovely evening with friends, they dont rush you out. Charcuterie board divine, fresh. Cheese board too! The kir Royale was a little off.
Love the atmosphere here - quaint, calm, tiny, beautiful, colonial rustic elegance. Wine list rocks as well. Not crowded and not empty. Nearly perfect.
This place was a really nice place to hang out. Interesting wine selection from lesser known wine regions (Turkey, Eastern Europe) and the wine I had wasnt awesome. But I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Tried some appetizers and it was nothing particularly unique or special. Basic cheese plate with tiny portions. Zucchini pancakes were not something I would order again.
This is a very nice bar with a good selection of drinks, tasty snacks and great music. Recommended!
Interesting wine selections, service is spotty.
Cozy and atmospheric wine bar in the West Village with a few smalls plates to enjoy, with wines by the bottle and the glass.
Quaint, sexy place to have a glass of wine on a 1 on 1 basis. Great service.
Great place to unwind. The food is amazing and the ambiance is very relaxing.
Thought this place was distinctly average and really terrible value for money
The perfect antidote to the crowded Meatpacking district scene, this cozy neighborhood spot is a real charmer for its simple Euro-centric wine list (including a Turk or two) and charming decor. Great lighting never hurts either.
Hidden gem! Great little place, amazing staff!!
Hot date night. Yes indeed. After trying to go to another wine bar in the area that was overcrowded and overall unwelcoming, my date and I ended up here. Because you know, dudes love wine bars. HA.At first glance the place is: Dark and a bit dreary, Edgar Allan Poe-esque. But I like that. Good place for a date if you and your date are ok with intimate conversations and staring into one anothers eyes. Just give your date a heads up that if youve been working all day you may a bit tired and your yawning isnt that youre bored but that you rather be in bed... With him. Yikes!Heck I would come here alone, sit at the bar and unwind with a glass or two of wine. And I totally recommend the cheese plate.Affordability and ambiance make this place a total go-to spot for Sasha!
Tom Brady and Giseles first date....must be a great place!! -❤🙋♀️🐐❤
The wine selection is on fleek.Should definitely try their cheese and meat plates to go with it!
Hidden gem in NYC! Great place for tapas and wine.
Nice wine bar. Date place
Comfy, intimate space. Ideal for a drink!
Low key for drinks, not a bad bar
