I hosted a private party here and it was 10/10. I first heard about the place when I was a guest at another private party which went super well! They put reserved signs with my name at our bar area which was a helpful touch and made it easy for all my guests to find their way. The DJ was awesome and so sweet to take requests, and the bartender was lovely, efficient, and super attentive. I really appreciated how she named a signature cocktail on the spot to match the party theme. The food was absolutely delicious, and I’m so glad we could order late into the night. The aesthetics were beautiful too - great party lighting, art, cleanliness. Thank you for storing my cake and handling the clean-up as well. It was an all-around awesome experience, and all of my guests had a great time!

I had my 26th here and it was so fun! I worked with Joe to plan it and the process was easy and seamless. I was able to bring a cake, cupcakes, and light decorations. I didn’t have to pay to rent the space or pay a minimum for the bar either. The bar space was perfect for my 35 guests. The bartenders were great and the drinks were delicious. All my guests loved the DJ and thought the music was curated perfectly for me and the event! I loved the look of everything and had an amazing time!! Thanks Tampico.

I recently visited a bar that caught my attention with its appealing aesthetic and mouthwatering food. I decided to try a jalapeño margarita, and it did not disappoint. The blend of flavors, with a hint of spice, was just right. Alongside my drink, I ordered chicken tacos that were absolutely delicious and left me thoroughly satisfied. The combination of flavorful food and an inviting atmosphere made for a memorable dining experience. Tampico has hosted several parties for me varying in size from 5-50 people. They are incredibly accommodating and helpful when choosing party menus and will tailor food platters to meet your party’s needs. The food is delicious and everyone especially loves the mini tacos at our events. The open bar options are perfect for larger parties, and the service is impeccable- no one is ever standing around waiting to be served! I recommend adding the margaritas to the open bar package because everyone loves them. The east bar is my personal favorite because your party has a private space with its own bar with no additional fee. On Saturdays the DJ is fantastic and really knows how to play the crowd. Make sure to check out the Frida bathroom on the main floor, and the tequila cage in the back! It’s a beautiful space and the perfect place to host a private party or a small group for food and margaritas!

Tampico hosted a private party of around 25, for my wife’s 30th birthday. Joe and the bar staff were exceptional and the event went great. The food was superb and everyone loved the drinks (blood orange margarita especially). The space was extremely affordable compared to others we looked into and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision to pick Tampico NYC.

I can’t recommend this place enough. I recently hosted a birthday party at Tampico. Usually, hosting events in Manhattan is extremely difficult, but Tampico made it so easy.The staff is wonderful. The food and drinks are delicious. Whether you’re coming in for a bite/ drink or hosting an event, this is an amazing spot.

The drinks are delicious, and the food matches the vibe.Tampico is a go-to place to hang out or in my case, host my grandmother’s 98th Birthday. My family and I enjoyed a wonderful celebration thanks to the staff at Tampico. The service was outstanding! Aura, Irma, and Joe went above and beyond to take care of the Birthday Girl. Certainly! Heres a shortened version of the review:---My experience at Tampico was terrible. The service was painfully slow, with over 20 minutes just to get a menu. When the food finally arrived, it was awful. The salsa tasted canned, the guacamole was brown and flavorless, and the quesadillas were soggy and bland. Even the rice and beans were poorly cooked.The restaurant was filthy, with sticky floors and unclean tables. Restrooms were also in bad shape.Overall, was a waste of time and money. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone looking for good Mexican food.

Hidden gem. Great food... Great tequila selection... Polite and attentive crew running the place. Was open for world cup and we enjoyed the experience. Looks like they get pretty busy at night so, check it out. Recommend 100%

Had drinks here before a show at the Bowery Ballroom—bar tender is fabulous and the drinks are the perfect balance of strong without knocking you off your feet. Had a Moscow mule inspired cocktail with ginger ale instead of ginger beer. Would definitely recommend! Also loved that your receipt comes with a tarot card!

Had my partner’s birthday celebration here. Awesome service! They let us set up some basic decorations, offered plenty of food, and made some great cocktails. We had about 35 people there and had a blast. Would recommend!

Really enjoyed this place. I loved the interior design. I sat at the back on the cushioned seats. They were so comfy and the whole vibe was great. They also have a nice outdoor area. I didn’t try the food, just the fries and they are okay. Not salty enough, but that’s my preference. The drinks were great! I got the coconut mojito, my friend got tamploma and we both liked our drinks

Joe, Aura, and the whole Tampico team are awesome! We had a party here with about 40-50 people and they were so accommodating and kind throughout the planning process and service, food, drinks and atmosphere couldn’t have been better.They did not charge us a minimum, ran separate tabs for everyone, allowed us to hang decorations, use our own playlist, and rename some of the drinks on their menu to fit our goofy theme. They thought of things I wouldn’t have— like staggering when the food came out, and storage space for everyone’s things.We are so grateful and can’t wait to come back!!!

Love love love! This place has great drinks and great staff! Unfortunately the kitchen had closed when I went to visit but the bartender suggested other great places in the area for food. I tried the mojitos while my partner went for the jalapeño margarita. Both were great! Music was nice and the bartender was attentive .

We had a semi private event at Tampico last night and had an awesome time! I hosted a party for my friends birthday and they were super accommodating both ahead of the party and during. It was the perfect amount of space for our group of around 30. We had a bar to ourselves with a few high tops and tables. To get the space you had to agree to a very reasonable bar minimum spend that we hit easily. Solid drinks and an awesome dj! I loved that it was still somewhat connected to the regular bar to to keep the buzz but still had our own space to mingle with our friends/cut cake. Aura and the team were super flexible with both headcount and time changes during the planning process. Overall awesome experience and Aura is a gem

Hosted my birthday party here! They have a great selection of tequila, and food! The cocktails are super delicious and the bartenders and staff are super friendly! The space itself is huge, there are two bars with great music going until late night! The owner is super friendly and welcoming! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

This hidden gem should be your next stop. The food they served was fresh and amazingly tasty especially the flautas. The drinks were also well made with a wide array of tequilas for the agave lovers out there. The inside of the establishment has an ambiance that you can’t really explain but instead you need to experience. Aesthetically pleasing you can surely tell a lot of thought and effort went into the design including the outdoor section for larger groups. The baristas were very friendly and attentive which goes a long way when it’s busy and you’re one of the many waiting to be served. I’ve been there a few times and I will continue to support this locally owned bar. Kudos to everyone who made my visit a welcoming one! Looking forward to the next visit!

Held a private party to celebrate my 24th Birthday party, and working with Joe, Aura, and Joe was an absolute dream! Planning was seamless and they optimized the space to perfectly fit my party size, theme, and requests. As someone that gets stressed out when party planning, the Tampico team made this the easiest experience possible.Numerous guests mentioned to me after that the bartenders’ speed, service, and banter was the best they have ever experienced, which as a host made me so happy! Also a huge shoutout to the DJ of the night because he played reggaeton and dance music perfectly to the crowd. We danced all night from 11-3:30am…The main bar space is perfect for a fun dance party while other guests were having more lowkey conversations and drinks towards the back in the tequila tasting room. Overall, it was the perfect party for all guests and I look forward to working with Tampico again in the future!

My work team hosted a private event at Tampico NYC and we could not have been happier with the experience!! From the start of my communications with Tampico, the team was extremely pleasant and professional. When we arrived on the night of the event, they were accommodating about pausing the music for speeches, allowing us to put up decorations, etc. We would 1000% recommend them to anyone considering throwing an event there. We cant wait to come back again!!

We had the best margaritas and apps here on Friday night. The staff and vibe was really more than we had expected- visit before this hidden gem 💎 is discovered by the rest of the city. So so good !!! A real neighbourhood vibe! It’s perfect for a large group ( the tables in the back are perfect fir a team takeover) -or just saucy/cheeky couple of margs at the bar!!

Awesome experience all around. We stopped in as a pit stop on our way to a different place and ended up staying for several rounds. The staff was great - very knowledgeable with recommendations and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Not only was our mezcal excellent, but we tried the well tequila because the bartender said it was solid, and it really was. Can’t say enough good things about the atmosphere, the staff, and the quality of the drinks!

Good tacos, Good Quesadillas, Good Tequila don’t recommend the upcharge for Guacamole since its a 4oz portion for $3 but its NYC.

A great dive next to the Bowery Ballroom! The staff are so friendly the drinks are Bomb and the food was great! My date and I had the three tacos/shrimp/steak and chicken.

Had a private party with the back room reserved for free. The DJ was friendly and took requests, the service was a little slow at times because they only had one bartender but the drinks are fairly priced and they even let the birthday girl set up a few decorations and have a cake. So many places in the city charge you a ton, don’t allow private parties on weekends, or serve cake so this place was excellent and in an excellent location.

Stopped by for tacos and the atmosphere was cozy, the bartender was extremely friendly and the food took a bit of time but it was delicious! Definitely recommend for a quick bite!

Denied entry because the bouncer, who was looking pretty lazy and a little bit drunk for a Wednesday night at 1:15am, said they were closed, even though the tvs were on and the bar had at least 10 people inside.

I had a private birthday party here and it was definitely one to remember! The ambience, drinks, music, servers and service were all a 10 out of 10. I recommend this spot to all tequila lovers!

BEWARE. The bartenders are scamming customers.We asked for casamigos soda and the bartender brought out 4 drinks after making it in the back. We were confused why he didn’t make it in front of us. Then we had a sip and immediately could tell it wasn’t casamigos. The bartender refused and said it was. We let it go.Shortly after we ordered another 2 casamigos soda and asked that he bring the bottle and make it in front of this time. Conveniently the bottle just ran out. Called him out that he was lying and had his manager change all of our drinks to house.ALWAYS ask them to pour the drink in front of you at this bar. Don’t fall for their scam.

When I asked a staff member where the restrooms were, I was told that one was to my right, and others were downstairs-whichever I was comfortable with.This was said so easily and so authentically it caught me off guard, and went a good way to un-Grinching my cold dead heart.Also, the coconut mojito is amazing, but could use a bit more mint.

I recently held my goodbye party at Tampico NYC and I couldnt be happier with the service and thoughtfulness of the team! The reservation (no minimum spend, no fee) is such a rarity in NY, and our bartender Aura was absolutely amazing with her thoughtfulness and attentiveness. We were allowed to order pizza from a nearby place (the kitchen was closed the day I held my party), the drinks were very yummy/well-prepared, and Aura made sure we were doing well all through the evening (and checked in on me multiple tiimes). The different spaces within the restaurant allow for different vibes, so I feel that they could accommodate for different types of parties! Thank you again, team!

They say is a mexican bar but they dont play Mexican music, only rap. The tequila and mezcal are bad quality...you pay high price for a cocktail with cheap tequila!!!

Joe, Aura, and co always treat you like family there. They set us up at the beautiful little courtyard area during a nice late summer Sept evening. Yummy Mexican food and tasty drinks with great vibes that always bring you back again. My friends visiting for the first said that’s a fact and loved it there! Hosted a private party here and it was such a blast!!!1. Organizing - worked with Joe who was super helpful the entire time. I had a million questions and he always answered them all and hopped on the phone a few times as well!2. Food/drinks - I wanted to have some food and drinks ready for people when they arrived. The party platters were fun and convenient. The food was quite good too! Got the quesadillas, tacos, and chips. They were all a hit! They were also kind enough to offer drink pitchers which were a fun welcome drink! As the party kept going, it was east to order more food and drinks at the bar.3. Attention to detail - they let us come and get set up a little early which was really helpful. During the party, they also made super water was constantly filled and cups were restocked! They even helped tape our balloons back up when they fell which was very sweet! The staff were great!!!I absolutely loved hosting my party here and would definitely do it again!! They keep the vibes fun yet classy and anyone is bound to have a good time!!!

This is a fun place especially for groups. Came here with 12 friends to celebrate a friends birthday. The cocktails are incredible. The food is delicious. The space is huge. The bathroom was covered with Frida Kahlo portraits and glitter. Good times were had by all. Enjoy

THIS PLACE IS EVERYTHING! Truly cannot say enough great things about it. I had my birthday party here and could not have asked for a better venue and welcoming staff. They added sweet personal touches on their own like signs and candles, and helped my friends sneak in cakes and candles to surprise me. The drinks were all so delicious and everybody was just raving about everything. The music was perfect, and the venue itself is just so much fun and perfect for a party spot. JOE IS THE BEST! He orchestrated everything and made the best drinks in the world. An absolute pleasure to work with. I’m writing an essay because they truly deserve it. Will absolutely be back!!!!!

I hosted my birthday there on a Saturday and rented out the east side of the bar and it was an amazing experience! The customer service was great and we had a personal server who greeted us and accommodated our needs throughout the night. They even sent a thank you note after the event which was a nice touch. The ambiance is fun with a DJ that comes on at 9pm and the drinks are incredible! Would definitely recommend coming for an event or just a casual drink or night out.

This place was amazing for a private party! I had my residency match day celebration at Tampico, and the ambiance, venue, and drinks/food were all great. Aura was so responsive and easy to work with in setting up the event, and she was a lovely bartender during the party as well. My friends and family had a wonderful time!

This place is amazing. The food, drinks and staff are the absolute best the city has to offer. Joe ( the owner) has created a beautiful authentic ambience. Everything was top tier. I recommend the coconut mojito and the fish tacos. Next time Im in New York I will definitely be stopping by.

This was my first time throwing an event like this and Aura took great care to make sure everything was in place for the night of my event. She answered all of my questions quickly, and believe me, I had a lot!Aura recommended the east side of the bar for my group of 50 which was perfect because we had a ton of privacy and no other patrons had a reason to walk through our reserved area.We did a three hour open bar and small bites and everything was absolutely delicious. Tampico really knows how to make a great drink and delicious margaritas! The tacos (chicken and cactus), chicken fingers, chips (w/ salsa and guacamole) were all yummy and the food came out fresh and on time.Joe, the manager, checked in with me multiple times throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed which was so great.Shannon behind the bar served every drink with a smile and they all tasted delicious.The kitchen staff and front of house staff were all courteous and kept an eye to make sure our space was cared for.All throughout the night, our guests were coming up to my fiancé and I saying how they havent been to such a fun party like this in a long time. Even after our open bar was up, no one wanted to leave because we were all having such a blast dancing and singing along to the tunes in our private space.I highly recommend everyone checks this place out whether it be for drinks, food, or to a throw party that will leave a lasting impression with your guests.Thanks again Tampico, we will be back!! :)

The laid back, relaxed vibe of this new bar and Mexican restaurant made for a wonderful evening of unique and delicious cocktails that complimented the traditional Mexican menu. I especially loved my cactus taco, which had a unique flavor that had me ordering seconds. The bartender/servers recommendations were spot on. You should go. I know I will be back.
