Talias Steakhouse and Bar

I dont like to write bad reviews, but I hope some constructive feedback is helpful. We went to Talias last night for the Persian pop-up. Wed been there before and the food was good. From the moment we walked in, I knew something had changed. The place didnt feel clean. The light fixtures were dirty and attention to detail missing. I also dont like the smaller space where they used to have another entrance door. Now its cold every time someone walks in.We ordered one of each appetizer and main course from the Persian tasting menu. The presentation and flavor was lacking. Under seasoned and too much garlic in one eggplant dish. 2 dishes had eggplant as the base, the soup was so strange looking I didnt taste it but my dining buddies added some salt and seemed to eat it. I could tell immediately the head chef was not overseeing what was going out to the customers. The pita was good! I ordered from the regular menu, grilled salmon, because to be honest, none of the menu items from the pop-up sounded appetizing on the menu. My salmon was not grilled, was not fresh, and I did not eat it. The sauteed spinach that came with it was the best part of the whole meal.The 4 main courses from the Persian menu arrived. Also not appetizing looking except the Kofta which was definitely edible and looked okay on the plate. I tasted one more brown looking item and was awful. I dont know what it was but by this point I was really turned off and filled up on rice and pita. The rice pudding for dessert was also strange in texture and flavor. Ive had really good rice pudding before so its not the dessert itself.When introducing customers to a new cuisine, Id recommend choosing dishes that are relatable, but also showcase new flavors. Im not sure if it was the choice of dishes, or the execution, but I think both the presentation and flavors need a lot of work.The owner and servers were pleasant and friendly. But unfortunately, we left feeling like we spent a lot of money for a bad experience.

I really wish I could love this place. And I want to support kosher restaurants. But Talias is just lacking the attention to detail that is necessary for a great dining experience. There were just two, overworked waiters. We always had to flag them down. Brisket is supposed to be soft and tender -- we had to send ours back because it was hard and tough. We ordered a steak instead but both appeared on the bill. We should not have to worry about checking things like that. We had a large party and several appetizers and side dishes never appeared. We had to flag the waiters down for them too. Even getting our water filled was a chore. Wires were hanging out all over in the corner, it did not look nice. At the end the waiter handed me my credit card back. I asked for the receipt and he said there is no paper receipt but announced to the table how much the total charge was. Not cool. Maybe I could overlook one of these things, but put together it made it not feel like a special dinner out for the hundreds of dollars we spent. Next time my wife and I are making plans to go out well go someplace else.

Comfortably served our party of 8 for dinner celebrating a graduation ceremony and birthday. Friendly service went above and beyond to make the evening special! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great - low, warm lighting and cute table lamps. Would definitely recommend!

The food is unappetizing and really poor. We went for Persian night during Chanukah and a couple at our table also ordered fish. Every dish was bad. Really rough, definitely will not be returning.

Came here for our Chanukah dinner. Not only was the food delicious but we truly enjoyed the atmosphere as well.

We are regulars at Talia’s Steakhouse. My favorite entree is Moroccan Salmon and my friend especially likes their prime rib for one. We also tried tomahawk steak, was juicy and delicious.I especially like their specialslike salmon cakes and beets cakes.The staff is always very friendly and the owner makes sure to always welcome us with a salad platter on the house. Very tasty.. The ambience and live music on some nights are awesome.

Great restaurants with a great Shawarma bar right next-door. Open Saturday night until late!

We were a group of five and all of us had a great dinning experience. I had the branzino which was fresh and cooked to perfection. My friends had lamb shank, prime ribs and chicken Marsala. Everyone enjoyed his main dish. Our server was friendly and polite. The ambiance is cozy with a candle and fresh rose on each table. Do no missed the fantastic, parve chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream. We will be back!

My wife and I had dinner at Talias Steakhouse and Bar. We had a great time.Our two waiters were very helpful and attentive. (And they had a good sense of humor, as well.) The portions served were very large. The food was delicious.I ordered BBQ spare ribs with a side order of mashed potatoes, my wife had the hamburger and we shared a delicious leafy salad.The two couples at the next table, whom we struck up a conversation with, were also happy with their meals.Wed highly recommend this restaurant to anybody whod like to have a great night out.

They occasionally have special guest chefs, I got some food when they got a Thai chef that was very good. (Their week of Haitian food was also excellent).

Went for a catered party. Steak was good, hummus was amazing, place was crowded and noisy, drinks were definitely not great, waitstaff was super nice and helpful. The person serving the drinks was lovely even though the wine was so so and the tonic water was flat.

Oh where to begin. My partner and I arrive and hurray they offer us a table. We wait OVER AN HOUR for them to bring us our food. We order drinks and when we ask the mixologist to slightly adjust the alcohol level (add a shot), she pours SIX OUNCES of Vodka into the glass making it almost dangerous to drink. We still had to pay for the now ruined cocktail. Our ribeye steaks finally arrived, and lo and behold it was NOT cooked to order, extremely underdone and COLD to the touch. Soggy fries too.If you’re gonna be one of the rare Kosher restaurants to be open over pesach, that doesn’t give you an excuse to be low quality as customers will be “desperate” to dine out. Keep up your reputable restaurant even when there’s no competition. Horrible experience.

We recently visited Talia’s Steakhouse after a wonderful experience in the past, where we were impressed by the atmosphere, live music, excellent food, and attentive service. Based on that, we decided to return tonight, but unfortunately, our experience this time fell short of our expectations.I had made a reservation for five people, but upon arrival, we found that it hadn’t been recorded. This led to an awkward situation where we had to stand between tables while arrangements were made, which felt uncomfortable.Additionally, we were disappointed to find that there was no live music this time, as it had been one of the highlights of our previous visit. The atmosphere felt more like a takeout restaurant, especially as the staff seemed inexperienced. It appeared that some of the waiters struggled with English and didn’t seem familiar with their duties.For example, I had to request a drink four times before receiving it. The menus were left on our table after we placed our order, and empty plates weren’t cleared before the entrees were served, leaving us to place them on a nearby empty table. Throughout the meal, we also felt rushed, which took away from the relaxed dining experience we were hoping for.Finally, when I asked for the check, I added the tip and placed my card inside. Moments later, the waiter handed it back, asking me to include my card and the tip amount, even though both were already there. Upon showing him, he apologized but seemed somewhat inattentive.Overall, this visit didn’t meet the high standard we experienced previously. We specifically chose Talia’s again for the live music and warm atmosphere we enjoyed before, but this time the experience lacked that charm.Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. We hope to see improvements in the future, as Talia’s has the potential to deliver the excellent experience we remembered.

Love this place! The food always tastes amazing. First time, I had Ribeye Steak (medium rare) with Salad and Chocolate Mousse with Vanilla Ice Cream. Second time, I ordered Lamb Shank and Tiramisu. You can tell that everything is fresh. Also, roses on the tables complementing cozy and romantic atmosphere. The staff, managers, and owner are attentive to their customers and will always make sure that you leave satisfied. Special thanks to Anat and her signature mojito with coconut and pineapple.

I was in the mood for a steak tonight and happened upon this place...I wish I hadnt. I ordered the ribeye with a green salad and broccoli expecting a fabulous meal. Instead I got a mediocre 10 oz ribeye of which at least a third was fat and not the type of fat that is marbled into the meat....just fat that one would expect a higher end steakhouse to trim off before serving. When I brought it to my waitress attention, she reported back that the manager said I should have ordered it with less fat...smh. He wont have to worry about me coming back to order any of the subpar and flavorless food. The price point should be a lot lower for what this restaurant is offering. No wonder why so many tables were empty...my waitress was very attentive and friendly though.

My husband and I went to Talias for our wedding anniversary. We had really high hopes after reading the reviews. However, we sadly had a really bad experience. The restaurant had a party of 25 which clearly was their only priority and they proceeded to neglect us every step of the way. Upon checking in for our reservation no one was there, so I had to find someone after waiting for 10 minutes. Then we waited 30 minutes for someone come take our drink order. I asked a question and then we waited Another 20 minutes for that to be answered. Finally after almost an hour we got the drinks and were able to order the food. Upon receiving the food sadly, my husbands order was completely wrong, but he ate it and dealt because they took so long to take orders and deliver the food, he was hungry and felt like it’d be another hour before he got a fixed meal. After we were finished eating we waited 20 minutes with no service. I finally called someone over and asked for the check, she ignored me. I then asked again and was again ignored. Finally I asked a third time and was told I needed to wait because of the party of 25, which I responded to explaining that we needed to leave because our baby was hungry. We didn’t receive the check for another 20 minutes (equaling about 45 minutes total of waiting for the check.) Sadly we have a newborn and this was our first time getting out in a while. I am just saddened that it took 2.5 hours for us to have one drink and entrees each, due to the lack of care the staff had for anyone outside of the party of 25/ the table of two beside us that were friends with the staff, and that my husbands order was completely wrong and so I felt like the night was a big waste of money for him.

From freezer to grill to table our steak was dry and lacked flavor.Our wait staff forgot we were there and we spent an hour waiting.We left with little in our stomachs and a sour taste in our mouths.

I had an excellent time here last night! Great food and excellent service. Everyone was so kind and the owner brought out new foods for me to try! Great music and nice atmosphere. 100% recommend!

Went with my family for dinner. Overall the food is pretty good and the service is very nice.

They serve good kosher food.The place give vibes of an event space more than a restaurant but you can sit inside or outside and enjoy your order.

Theres nothing to explain. It should all be self explanatory when you walk in this place.

We dined at Talia’s Steakhouse on Christmas Eve. Not only was it cold outside, it was very cold inside, so that every person dining was wearing heavy coats. Frankly, any restaurant, including an expensive one, that cannot provide adequate heating should close for the night. Every time the door opened, and it normally did not shut adequately so that we and other customers had to tend to the door to close it better, a blast of freezing air came into the dining area. We ordered a steak and the ribs, and the steak was incredibly undistinguished and the ribs were worse. The barbecue sauce on the ribs was way over-sweetened, and the membrane on the back of the ribs had not been removed, meaning that the eating experience was compromised quite a lot and some meat was unavailable. Just as well, as it did not taste any good. The vegetables supplied were apparently steamed and nothing added. Totally tasteless, and unsurprisingly got cold because of the room temperature within three minutes of arrival. Perhaps the vegetables could have been sautéed or roasted for a little bit of flavor? It seems that this restaurant survives simply because it is kosher. If we had had a choice we would have walked out in the first five minutes to go to a place that cared for its customers and had more reasonable prices for what you get. We will never come back.

What a wonderful place for my wife’s birthday party! I would have posted this yesterday,the date of the party (October 10)but we received so many phone calls from guests telling us what a wonderful venue this was for my wife’s party!! The service was superb, all the food,especially the appetizers, were excellent and the staff was the most accommodating!! Can’t wait to throw another party and it certainly would be At Talia’s. From this review, you can see, we highly recommend this place. Five stars is inadequate to show what a wonderful time was had and how superb everything was for all guests !

We had our granddaughter’s Sheva Brachot tonight. The food was delicious and plentiful. Beautiful presentation and excellent service! Will definitely plan our next Simcha at Talia’s!Thank you, Ephraim, Linda, Francis and everyone else who made this evening memorable

My friend and I went to Talia’s for the kosher Haitian popup back in July. My friend keeps kosher but was also vegan, so we were looking for things to order that we would both want. We ended up with the classic stew, I got the meat version and she got the vegan. I tried hers and it tasted EXACTLY the same. You’d think that means they did such an excellent job replicating the meat flavors, but to us it felt more like the meat was an afterthought in the stew. They say they bring in chefs from these cultural backgrounds (Haitian chef was Haitian, their Indian popups have been Indian chefs) but to me it felt like they must’ve told her the audience can’t handle the full flavor of her food 🫣 I felt bad, as I’m sure she’s a great chef, but the food we tried didn’t have any strong flavors, and certainly none that stood out as unique to us. Our expectations were sky high as we both travel a lot and I eat dairy out, so we weren’t sure what we were expecting… I just think we were hoping for more brightness and shock value than this. In NYC, you can try an authentic dish on almost every street corner from a part of the globe you may have never heard of, but it’s the best thing you’ve ever had. Here, the food was fine and unassuming, but did not blow us away with any incredible flavors. I want to keep coming back to popups but please allow the chefs full creative control of their meals! We like Talia’s and I do not want this fi be seen as a negative review, but I would love for them to prove to us that their popups can be truly authentic. :)(This same friend stopped being vegan and went to the Indian popup more recently and reported a similar experience).

The staff was really nice!! The hostess was a really interesting person and was very entertaining when she delivered dishes, poured wine, etc. food was delicious too!

I recently had a great experience at Talias. I came here for a date and loved the ambiance of the place. The pleasant and attentive waitstaff definitely added to the atmosphere. The Mediterranean salad platter was very good - especially the pickled beets. After this, my date and I split a steak, which was cooked perfectly. Overall, I am very happy with this experience and will recommend Talias to my friends and family

The hummus, Lamb, chicken and meatballs were absolutely amazing!!! A fantastic combination of flavors!!! Run don’t walk to Talia’s, for a meal you will savor forever!!! Bon Appetito!!!

Its a take out counter, and the savory lunch food I had was excellent, but the baked food and sweets were stale and not good, and the atmosphere was pretty gross. Its filthy dirty in there and such a grim, paper plate type feeling. We were looking for something nice. They should clean it once in awhile, repaint, get some nicer furniture. Seems like it would be good for take out only.

We went for Thanksgiving dinner. We had to place a deposit for our reservation. It was advertised as a family event but once we got there with our child, we were stuck in the corner by the broken restroom and wait staff hangout location. We smelled the restroom half the night and listened to the wait staff yell at each other the other half. The table, menu, and dinnerware was not kid friendly so we had to battle that all night. We placed our order and a long, long time later were brought the wrong soup. An even longer time later our food came. By this time our child was melting down. It took hours for us to finally eat and the little one just couldnt last that long. When the bill came they didnt even deduct our deposit! Good thing my wife remembered to check!Food was excellent, service was awful. It ruined our evening and an otherwise perfect day.

Wow! The prime rib was so juicy ans delicious!My girlfriend had halibut with steamed vegetables and she enjoyed it very much. Service was professional and friendly. We also had a great time listening to nice jazz. Highly recommended!

Went here for a late lunch during Pesach. Food was okay. Half our appetizers came out and as we were waiting on the rest of the apps and main course, some rabbinic students came in and said “rabbi, it’s time to recite the morning sh’ma”. How they could say they didn’t expect things to be this busy or beyond me. They’re one of the only open KP restaurants, it’s a naked cash grab.

Went here with a Groupon on a busy Wednesday night. The deal was great. Got a great meal for the money. However the service and ambiance was pretty bad. I understand a place being busy but we were waiting way too long for almost everything. Had to ask a few different waitresses for water, ketchup, our check, etc. The background music was a man playing keyboard. I thought it was a 7 year old playing it was that bad. I will probably never come back here but I can imagine it would be a decent place to go to on a less busy night. Oh also the entire front of the restaurant was open on a hot day. Was sweating the entire time I was there. Good appetizers though

Went to celebrate NYE at Talia’s Steakhouse last night. Service, food and ambiance was amazing. We went for their pre fixe menu and gladly enjoyed it. I ordered Ribeye well done and my partner ordered Chicken Marsala- was delicious and came out in reasonable time. Will definitely recommend and we will be back! Happy New Year!

Service was terrible. We were seated and the table was not set we had to ask for utensils and napkins. The food to an hour to come out of the kitchen and one of the dishes was a simple salad. The chicken cutlets were over cooked and had no flavor. This place is so over priced for what it is. I would have rated it a zero but that is not an option. The wait staff was very nice and apologized and gave the salad for free and offered free desserts.

Me and my wife usually enjoy sitting at this restaurant, however, due to the circumstances we had to take out today. Nevertheless, dinner was perfect as usual. We love the BBQ spare ribs. By far the best kosher restaurant in the area. Highly recommended!

We booked for eight people to coincide with the breaking of a fast....the food was fantastic as was the service. I dont know where to begin... my experience at Talias was incredible! From the second we walked in the door, the customer service was impeccable. There was live music, and the ambiance was just...perfect!For drinks: the mojito- could not recommend this enough, the mint was so fresh! the yellow ginger- another favorite! perfect for ginger beer lovers like myself. lol. they even had Goldstar for my man!The food: the chicken wings were amazing. great sauce that came on the side. the crispy cauliflower is also a must have!I ordered the middle eastern salad platter and was not disappointed! Best pita Ive had in America HANDS DOWN... and dont even get me started on the babaganoush.For my main I had the steak and WOW. just WOW.I will be back dining at Talias soon, a five star experience all around!

I did not like the waitress who served us. She wasnt that great. However, they had music playing at night when we were eating. The food was delicious and the aura was nice. It is kind of expensive for the price of burger but its worth the try if you like steak. I would say my experience there was average.

Awful experience.My husband and I had reservations on a Wednesday and rolled in early for our anniversary dinner. The hostess, who was also our server, was incredibly rude. There seemed to be some tension between the staff members (and it was palpable!!!) and not one other person in the restaurant was friendly to us. Our server was very evidently put out when we asked her for anything and did a poor job explaining the Groupon menu, but didnt hesitate to remind us at the end of our meal that the recommended amount to tip was located on our receipt.Poor service can usually be mitigated by outstanding food, but that was not the case for this place either. The 4 course pre fixe menu was a shared single-serving salad, a shared single-serving appetizer and two very very underwhelming entrees. We were so disappointed and uncomfortable with the environment that we skipped dessert entirely (if it was even offered, we dont really know). ABSOLUTELY not worth the $91 Groupon cost.Im mostly disappointed because Talias otherwise has pretty decent reviews, but unfortunately there are way too many decent places to eat both on Groupon and in NYC in general that are more deserving of my time and money.

Had dinner at Talias earlier, from the warm welcome the moment I went in to the full-filling dessert I had... I have to say they did a very good job. I took my parents for a steak Monday and got surprised with their food, we had more than enough food for the table and all tasted so good. The owner and our waitress(sorry I didnt ask for ur name) were above beyond to give us good suggestions and GREAT service.(especially I brought a groupon, yall know its tricky sometimes) but we felt so welcomed and had a good time. Highly recommend couples/families visit Talias, u will be treated very well.

I had a great time in Talias Steakhouse and Bar with my family! What I loved the most is that they have inclusive choices in their menu with reasonable prices. Their staff were very friendly and accommodating too! Definitely a place to go to for late night meals! Thank you Talias Steakhouse and Bar!

One of the best steaks Ive ever had. Outstanding service from the manager even in the last hour of business.

Waitress was nice and friendly, but I did not receive what i ordered originally. It took 20 minutes to put this right. When my main came they forgot the salad. The vegetables were raw and the kebobs were well done when I requested medium rare. Very disappointing experience.

One of the best kosher steakhouses in Upper West side. I eat here often, my favorite dishes are prime rib ( juicy and made to perfection) with sweet potato fries and chicken Caesar wrap with sautéed veggies. The staff is so friendly and accommodating that I got to know them as my friends. They have amazing ambience with live music on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The bartenders make the best drinks and smoothies are refreshing on a hot summer day. Also have outside sitting which is a perfect. Open until 4am on Saturdays. Perfect spot for dates, get together or just for drinks at the bar. I would definitely recommend for food, staff and amazing atmosphere.

My friend and I had a great dining experience at Talias Steakhouse.We did wait about 15 minutes after our reservation time, but being as how my friend was late it really didnt matter much. The restaurant was really crowded, but our server was attentive and pleasant. We both ordered the cast iron filet and they were perfectly cooked and could have been cut with just a fork. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. The interior is somewhat typical for a steakhouse. Wood interiors and dark romantic atmosphere. I look forward I coming back.

This is the steakhouse to go to if you’re ever in the city!!!! Absolutely the best steak , best salmon , and best customer service!! Cannot recommend this place enough !

I am only giving Talias one star because zero is not an option. The cut which was supposedly a rib eye was more like mystery meat. Fatty, thin, chewy. The staff was pleasant but not exactly attentive. We live in the neighborhood and had the same experience about two years ago. We saw the Groupon deal and decided to give the restaurant another try - big mistake.

This is a Groupon staple and is definitely a bargain. The appetizers and service rank closer to 5 stars but the burgers were dry and lacking. Weve had the steaks before and they were better than the burgers - and maybe Im just s homebody- but nothing compared to my own bbq.Also, the room was cold - the door was left open because of kitchen smoking conditions- but it was chilly indoors.Wish I could rate it higher than 5 but that is what it is.

Food delicious , service a little disorganized with some minor order mixups. Wine very slow to arrive. But it was a very busy night.. everything was very tasty. Great live music and decor. Noisy, but a lively atmosphere.

The steaks were OUT OF THIS WORLD. I bought the groupon for dinner for two and we paid a $15 upgrade per person to get the top of the line steaks.There was so much food that we two guys couldnt finish.Definitely going back!

5 friends went to dinner here last Friday night. It was so much fun! The food was excellent as was the service. We had a very long leisurely dinner and really enjoyed the shabbat meal together.

My mom had got my boyfriend and I a Groupon for a 4 course meal for his birthday gift for what was supposed to be a nice night out. Our dinner started with our waitress saying that they couldnt take it. Had to call my mom and get her all stressed out and embarrassed. After waiting around 15 minutes turns out they could and she was just incompetent. She also could not articulate the Groupon deal menu we got at all and kept contradicting herself and then looking at us like we were crazy for being completely confused by her.Came in 8:45 and didnt get appetizers until 10:30 at the same time our food came out.Ordered my filet medium rare; it was purple to the point of being raw. Sent it back to cook a little more and it came back completely dried out and burnt to a crisp. My waitress, a vegetarian who couldnt tell me which steak Id like most upon asking her recommendation when ordering, was trying to tell me that I didnt like their medium rare so she had them make it medium well which makes no sense. I wanted a red center. Never said I wanted medium well. My waitress was extremely argumentative and sarcastic. The owner did right by giving us a free meal next time but I dont think wed even want to go back for free. Others at tables nearby were also having issues. Absolutely horrible service. Food takes forever. Dont waste your money.

Amazing food. Each plate was like ART both for the visual and for the palate. The atmosphere was authenticly New York with a touch of home crossed with the feel of the classic Casablanca movie. Romantic, nostalgic, a classic to be experinced by those who appreciate quality and good company.

My family and I spent the Sukkot holiday at Talias Steakhouse. We were a table of 12 guests. We ordered steak, burgers, veal scallopini, meat balls and more. All dishes - from heaven. Almost everyone said wow. Service was on the slow side but very friendly and professional. Ambiance was very special because we ate in the Sukkah. Highly recommended.

The food is of average quality and there are good choices for any taste so even if you are vegan you can find something on the menu. Interior is rather dull but I suppose being a Kosher restaurant probably requires it to be so. I thought the prices were on the high side for the portion size but, again, its New York so things are not cheap anywhere.The most irksome part of the experience was the live music, which in my opinion (and this of everyone on our table), the establishment can well do without.Overall, a fair choice if youre after a kosher dinner.

My sister made a reservation to come here one of Aprils Saturday nights. She had bought a Groupon for 4 people and invited me and my partner to join her for dinner.It was an spectacular experience. Everything was perfect.Elena/Helena was our waitress, she was incredible and made sure everything was exceptional for us.We received an appetizer on the house, which was Homemade Hummus, Tahini, Babaganoush, eggplant salad, red cabbage slaw and beets, my sister and her boyfriend tried and loved every single thing. They also served some pita bread with pesto and pesto cream cheese or pesto butter on the house, not sure which one but was good anyway.We started the night with a bottle of red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon to be exact, which was more than excellent. The Groupon offered two bottles, we received the second with our steaks.We ordered appetizers and salads afterward, which were also included on the Groupon. We had Bbq Crispy Chicken Wings and Moroccan Cigars accompanied with Talias Salad and Roasted Beet Salad, everything was appetizing and tasteful, definitely inviting us to anxiously wait for what was left.After the appetizers, Helena served our entree choices. The four of us ordered Ribeye Steaks, of course they were incredibly juicy, exquisite, mouthwatering. We were definitely in Heaven. Each Entree came with two sides, as per our Groupon. I ordered the incredible Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Potato Fries and they were both simply perfect. The mash potatoes were made with some garlic taste, it was very flavorful.We went down a bottle and like 1/4 of the second and then ordered dessert, which was also included in the Groupon. We had two desserts, ordered a Tiramisu and Chocolate Cake. Helena informed us the Tiramisu was kosher, in case we wanted to change our option, we acknowledged but decided to keep the order. We made the right decision, the Tiramisu was lovely. We all loved it.After all the food, our waitress Helena brought the bill, which included just the taxes as the Groupon does not cover for them. We stood at the restaurant for about another hour and finished the Wine Bottle.It was a lovely experience as much as it was a lovely evening. In our opinion (unanimous), the price of the Groupon does not even cover 1/4 of the amount of the scrumptious food we were able to consume and enjoy on our visit, plus also getting two bottles of wine, along with an outstanding, splendid service from our waitress and all the staff at the restaurant.Definitely looking forward to come here again and devour another one of those savory, delightful, succulent Ribeye steaks. And definitely would be lucky and would love to have Helena hosting our evening again.

The food is very tasty and at reasonable price. The service is attentive and professional. The ambiance is great - nice and large outdoor, sidewalk seatings, dimly lit atmosphere and amazing mellow soft rock n roll live music. Highly recommended!

Having an unbelievable anniversary dinner at Talias Steakhouse & Bar. Amazing live music, great food and a fun time with my love! Sorry we weren’t able to take pictures of everything. Came in hungry and had to start eating... halibut fish with mash potatoes. For main dish we had the barbecued spare ribs, the lamb shank with veggies, crispy French fries Mediterranean salads. We end the evening with an amazing chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream. Highly recommended

Terribly mismanaged and frightfully executed Passover, 2019 meal. Our appetizer was tasteless and unidentifiable. The soup course was delivered cold and the matzahballs were inedible. After waiting for 21/2 hours to be served a main course, none was to be had and we left in disgust. Your waitstaff carried food through the street, in the rain, to “the annex”, a room totally lacking in decor.A miserable and completely inexcusable experience. NEVER AGAIN !

Really awesome time with my friends at Talia’s. Favorite part? Livemusic…! The band playing was rocking, we were sitting at a long tableright next to the show and at one point felt like tables were shakingfrom the volume of some favorite songs. Food couldn’t have beenbetter. Love the burgers there and especially the Moroccan influenceditems like cigars, kibbeh, and middle eastern salads for some variety.The mixed drinks special also gave a lot of choice for awesomecocktails, which my friends and I loved. I always leave really happyand satisfied!

Wahoo, this is the best place to eat anytime. Is a Jew restaurant but be sure of having value for your money and the servers are the best and the meal is a top notch. Did I have value for my money, I will say CAPITAL YES. Keep it up.

Way too expensive for the quality of the food. $32 for beef spare ribs in what tastes like Heinz BBQ sauce. The music is way too loud and when we asked to turn it down we were told thats how the manager likes it. Go somewhere else for kosher steak with better prices and better quality

The food is phenomenal and the portions are some of the heartiest in the city. They show all the games have an atmospheric outdoor patio and GREAT HAPPPY HOUR PRICES!!! Perfect for family get togethers and a night out with good friends. Talias Steakhouse is a must for true foodies!

Ive been to Talias a few times. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We ordered from the daily specials were amazed by the platters. The BBQ short ribs was a huge plate of tender and delicious meat. We couldnt even touch the mashed potatoes that came with it. We also ordered roast lamb and pasta with a mushroom sauce that was again all meat with a little pasta. We left stuffed and happy.

Wonderful for special occasion (Big/Small) - We celebrated my husbands 40 birthday at Talias yesterday evening (1/19). It was the most special event. The staff took care of our every needs (especially the Chilean manager, Jeff, Effie the manager and Katie the event organizer). I was a little worried about the event but they done a magnificent job and did not let me worry for one ounce of the event. The food is superb and all my guests compliment the taste, presentation, portion size and the bar was great too. The music was a lovely touch and they just made sure everything looked perfect and ran smoothly!! I can not thank the team enough and recommend this place to anyone for a special event!! Set menu was great and so many option and very reasonable for such a big event! I loved the salad starter too, outstanding! Thank you all LOVE this place!

Food is good. Not amazing, but solid and good, and with a Groupon its pretty reasonable. We were there on a night with live music, which added to the experience. Nice date place, at least for the people on either side of us.

Stumbled upon Talias while walking in the city with my girlfriend. After looking at the menu we decided to try it out. It was crowded but we were seated right away in a spacious corner both. Our waitress immediately came over to us when she noticed we were ready to order. She was very polite, and knowledgeable about the menu. Heres what we ordered:Bottle of wine: Binyamin Hareserve Shiraz. It was reasonably priced and fresh.Appetizers: my girlfriend and I decided to go with a Yemenite soup each. It was tasty and spicy. The chef knew what he was doing on this one.Main course: my girlfriend ordered a butchers cut steak. I didnt try it but she told me she really enjoyed it. She finished her steak which she neve usually does. For a side dish she ordered fries. She isnt a big French fry person but she had a few, enjoyed them- I ate the rest of her fries, damn good fries. I ordered a prime rib steak. It was cooked to perfection, and extremely juicy with great seasoning and flavor. On the side I ordered mash potatoes. They tasted like they had butter in them, even though I know they dont. Top notch mash, and I love my mash.Dessert: our waitress told us to order the sufley, which we did, and thank god we ordered that. It was fantastic. Its a hot, gooey, chocolate dish with vanilla ice cream on the side. This is a must order.Final thoughts: I dont usually go to kosher restaurants, but Im glad I stumbled upon this hidden gem. Went in wanting to kill some time, ended up finding a place with reasonably priced and delicious food, great and knowledgable service, and intimate ambiance- the cherry on top was the live music, which I forgot to mention earlier.

Last Saturday my wife and I ate at Talias Steakhouse, a kosher steakhouse on the Upper West Side.Entering the restaurant, it seemed elegant with roses and candlelit.The food was delicious.I ate a ribeye steak, medium,and it was juicy and tender and excellent.My wife ate duck breast, medium rare, with spinach risotto.Duck was tender and very tasty and risotto melted in her mouth, she said.The desserts were as scrumptious as we have ever tasted, a chocolate domeand a banana bash, both delicious enough to crave again.Service was prompt, server knowledgable and smiling, making us feel at home and comfortable.

I would like to recommend Talia’s Steakhouse and bar for its high quality service, delicious food, high level personnel, and good vibes. I’m definitely going to come back and enjoy from this great restaurant.

Great location, Good food. However, the customer service started off bad because we were asked if we were there on a Groupon. When we asked why we would need a Groupon, they said it means we don’t have access to the entire menu.

Went here first on a groupon and were pleasantly surprised. Decor was decent, service amazing, and food beyond fantastic. Talias now replaces La Marais for favorite NYC restaurants and reasonably priced.

I am a regular at Talia’s and usually order their prime beef burger. Always fresh and delicious. Today I saw they are having Kosher Mexican Pop-Up this week, so I orderedTOSTADAS DE TINGA.. was very delicious and I was extremely satisfied and will order more Mexican this week to try other dishes. Definitely recommend trying Mexican and looking forward to their other Pop-Ups.

Their food is so flavorful and fresh. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. I love coming here... Just wish it was bigger since its usually very crowded.

I live in Israel and came to visit friends of my family who live in Manhattan. They took me for dinner at Talias Steakhouse. Great food, polite and professional service and very cool ambiance - large outdoor seating & amazing live jazz music. I even saw one VIP - Ron Dermer, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States. I do not 100% observe the kosher laws and I never been in any kosher restaurants in New York City, but, I certainly can tell you that Talia’s is a very fun and cool place and I will absolutely recommend it to all my Israeli friends who may visit New York.

Food is good, portions large, but the service and upkeep of this place is abysmal. Barely saw our server. Never got bread as promised... can’t get anyone’s attention. Things forgotten. AND ONE SINGLE STALL BATHROOM for the whole place! Get it together yall.

My friend and I went to Talias on 11/18/18 and like everyone says, the food is great and the place is great however, its Thursday 11/23//18 now and my friend and I have been sick that same night with the same symptoms and by 22nd and 23rd I cannot count how many times I went to the bathroom with the runs. I called my friend and he said the same so fans, take note

Used a Groupon for this visit. There was a lot of food, but we were not thrilled with the quality, and would not have been happy if we had visited without a Groupon and received the same food. It was not a special menu so one has to assume our experience was standard for the restaurant, as a result, we will not be back.

Went with Family they couldnt get my sisters steak right it took them 5 times to get it not rare. My steak wasnt bad but very bland and lack of seasoning, but are server was kind and very patient with the chef.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place has roaches went on a dinner date for mothers day there with my man there and after a few moments of eating the bread bits they gave to us I saw a roach crawling next to me on the wall in the corner. We had left immediately!

Very good. My wife and I had Friday night dinner at Talias. I got the Moroccan Salmon, and she got the brisket. Both tasted great, used fresh ingredients,and had ample portions. The real star for the night was the starter, the Yemeni chicken soup. It was such a unique combination of Middle Eastern spices. I still cant stop thinking about it. The service was great. We got there around 8pm and were the only ones in the restaurant, but they did not make us feel rushed. I world go back and I would recommend.

Horrible place. Stay far away. Service is horrible. People are rude and food is gross. Once placed an order for delivery, soup was burnt, wrap I ordered was half spilling out. Said they would refund next time. Next time went in there they said they had no idea what I was talking about. Another time I placed an order online at around 11 and it never showed up.

1st they bring us a pitcher of sangria that tasted more like seltzer water than wine, and 2nd I ask for a medium well steak and they bring me a medium rare steak but on a positive note our waitress was great.

Very good for kosher but overpriced. I dont understand why a nice place cant be more elegant and quiet.When I pay close to $45 a meal I dont want to hear noise for waiters shuffling plates and misbehaved children.Big parties getting carried away and not caring that they are in a restaurant.

KOSHER Steakhouse - Dim lit and date ambiance.I highly suggest this restaurant for a date. It’s not very busy here most of the time and I’m glad about that since I usually end up here on last minutes dates.Can never go wrong with this place. They have delicious steak and not to mention the service is 10/10.

I love this restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing and the service is unmatched. It is a spot a friend of mine and I go to when he is in town. He lives 1800 miles away. We had gone this time last year and really enjoyed ourselves so decided to go again when he was in town. Linda works the drinks there and she remembered us from a year ago!! Shes so amazing and the staff there super friendly. The owner even came out and offered us a free anything just because. And did I mention the food? You cant go wrong here with anything.
