Great place to eat and drink. Wonderful atmosphere, great food and a nice selection of different beers. I hope to go back next time I have an event at MSG.
We have been here on the last vacation to New York, and on this vacation we spent a lot of our time while on vacation, the staff were always very attentive to our needs, Danielle was very nice and my Grandson loves her, we also spent New Year with them, and it was awesome. Good food, good Drinks, and good music. Thanks for making our stay that much more fun!!
Delightful experience! Visited for a business meeting mid-afternoon and the place was surprisingly empty. The staff was incredibly attentive, It was a nice change from other places Ive been in NYC. The good was tasty, bright and colorful. Fairly inexpensive and Id say a great spot for a meeting, date or hang out with a few friends. Recommended.
We went there for game 7 of NY Knicks as the played away. Fantastic atmosphere during the game. Felt like in MSG at some point when crowd cheers for the team. Food surprisingly good. I had a burger which was very good and good size for me, however might be small for some. A friend enjoyed a dozen of wings, spectacular. Guinness well poured, did not feel watery, creamy. Service relatively fast. They ask you to pay with an app at the table, which is a novelty for a European who I am.
Our go-to before a show at the Garden Always!!!, Playing Pearl Jam live before the show. Awesome 👍😁❤️
Go right to the basement. It’s cool, quiet and you can order food right to the bar. The bar has about six barstools around it and there are a few high top tables. The bartender was friendly and the basement had a full compliment of beers. The Southwestern Chicken Cobb Salad was the best I ever had.
We visited restaurant on Sunday. It’s pretty empty which is good for us so we can relax. Food is really good! We absolutely love it. We order dozen of oysters, chicken wings, chicken pot pie, and apple pie ( really recommend; not too sweet, just right amount of sweetness) all were very tasty.Shout out for my 2 lady servers. They are super busy cause they must have covered the whole restaurant just two of them. They were very friendly and service-minded ( Sunday, Aug 25).Would come back again.
Gorgeously kind wait staff, a really cool basement, and appetizer burger sliders that I might commit a misdemeanor for.Not entirely sure about the rye flavor I got from the lobster rolls, but Im going to remember this place for those burgers.
We went on an NFL Sunday and it was insanity. That being said, it was a fun & lively atmosphere with every game imaginable on TV and the service was great. Lots of beers to pick from and the burger was very good. Would visit again for sure!
I’ve been a costumer for years and I brought some friends over here many times but I’m telling you - run away from this place!! Foods are slowly getting worse and their beers are warm but the service has always been good. BUT! their managers are rude af, especially to their employees who have told me that they were told to just sell warm beer and pretend like u don’t know. Their managers Nicole and Princess don’t care about the people working there. They’re rude and did nothing but gossip outside the bar. I’ve felt sorry for the staff so i’m telling all my family and friends to not come here again.
Great spot pre game or to watch. The kitchen is very efficient. The food is bar and grill at its best. No complaints here with large orders and tight time frames.... Great for game day! Highly Recommended.
We hosted a party of 31 in the Greene Room to celebrate our wedding and it was one of the best nights ever! All the staff at Stout - Penn Station were beyond nice and accommodating, making us feel so special and cared for while also accommodating to the guests at our party. The Greene Room was the perfect choice for us, with a private bar and being handicap accessible. All night long, our friends and family told us how amazing the food and drinks were and we 100% agree (would totally recommend and come back here for a burger, OMG so good)! Could not have asked for a better place to party!
The place has a bunch of craft beers on tap, but if you want to try different ones the bartenders only know the brewery not what beer it is. Basically everything says “rotating” no menu. That and the fact the in the middle of all these craft beer taps is a tap for Bud Light?!?! If somebody wants bud light I would expect a bottle would be fine for them. This is basically a bar pretending to be a “tap” house
Well located in the heart of Manhattan and near Times Square - great food, really delicious and we never had issues finding a spot to sit down (bar or booth). Great selection of beers 🍻Service is very friendly and helpful, some of the staff take their time though (that’s the 4/5 stars).Overall great experience 👍🏻
First time in NY, 2nd stop for food and I was excited to go to a pub/bar for drinks, football & brunch. This is a nice upscale-feeling atmosphere for a bar with very nice options for liquor and beer! I’ve never seen Weller at a bar in Florida so I was ecstatic to try that! Our bartender didn’t seem confident in her liquor nor food and admitted it was her first brunch shift. She was nice but a bit awkward when she didn’t know the answer to a question. Also… I don’t know if this is a New York thing BUT I GOT CHARGED FOR ICE IN MY LIQUOR???! I’ve ordered at a bar in 34 other states and have never heard of this.Overall: The food was solid, lively atmosphere, I felt like a kid in a candy store looking at the liquors provided and the service was mid. I would give this place another try.
Was there at 9am for a Formula 1 race with a packed house. Only can you have this experience in NYC or Europe. Thank you for the atmosphere, great sound (to hear the race) and TVs all over. Breakfast food is a bit of an afterthought with limited options and acceptable food. A must visit for F1 fans.
I went to Stout for the first time last night, before going to MSG for a concert. We got there about 5:30 and the place was pretty crowded, the other half of my party for 4 was not there as of yet, so we put our name on a list for a table, however, I was able to go to the bar and grab 3 seats pretty much within 5 minutes. We heard such a great time at the bar, Kia was our bartender and she took such amazing care of us. When my friends arrived, they just jumped right in.We ordered a variety of drinks and beer and an assortment of appetizers and dinner. We ordered the wings (amazing in size stbd portion) dumplings (outstanding) and bacon wrapped shrimp... delicious. For dinner, I had the burger with cheddar and bacon... it was awesome!!! My wife also enjoyed her dinner as well..... but south the beer, I forgot what she ordered but i know that she enjoyed it.Thank you for a great time Kia!!
Excellent and a lot of lt is fun
We have come to the Penn Station location a number of times as it is conveniently located near MSG. I believe that they have another location near Grand Central Station and another near Bryant Park. The Penn station location is a three story, very large establishment. We had a reservation for 6 and were seated within five minutes. The staff are friendly and even though the place is always packed, once you are seated, your order is taken quickly and your food and drinks come out just as fast. The menu selections include Burgers, BBQ chicken and rids, pizzas, chicken pot pie, fish and chips, chicken sandwiches, a bunch of salads and a number of appetizers. We went for hamburgers and turkey burgers. They were really good as are the house cut fries and salads. Prices are reasonable for NYC. I did see what appear to be rooms for private parties in the basement. The bathrooms are in the basement which is accessible via a long staircase. I did not see an elevator but that does not mean that they dont have one. If they dont, I am not sure how anyone that is handicapped would be able to use them. I will say that the bathrooms were very clean and maintained, although there were no paper towels.I would not try to come here when its busy without a reservation as you will probably have to wait. It is definitely worth the visit though.
This is a great place for bites and drinks. The mini burgers are so delicious! And the mini egg rolls! The guac and nachos! The atmosphere and ambience is very inviting. It’s low lighting here. But it’s very spacious. Staff is helpful and courteous. Thank you for all you do.
Super loud and great for bar scene but not dinner. Chips were very stale. Burgers decent. Would recommend fried foods
Good food for the location.Service is just ok - they should be more used to dealing with volume before games and concerts. What prompted this mediocre review was a charge for a drink in the rocks. They charged additional for rocks on a top self drink. Petty.
A bar with a basement event space. It is close to Penn Station so was quite busy with after work crowd. Drinks are OK but the food is generic and nothing to write much about. Our second round of drinks had a Kyiv Mule come out with very little ginger beer. The sliders were OK but the Spinach and Cheese dip had the cheese burnt and caked. The wings were generic and not much flavor to them. Overall a convenient location for a quick after work drink before commute.
Service with the QR code could be better. Checking out through the app should be better too. I don’t have a choice in the tip amount. I usually tip 20% anyway but the idea it’s automatically 20% doesn’t sit well. I’d go again though, just order differently.
Went on a Ranger game night with reservations. By the time we left it was very crowded. Food and atmosphere were great prices were a bit expensive but on par for NY
Was watching Mets NLCS last night in the middle of the third inning the manager changes from the Met game on the big screen to the football game —the Giants versus the Bengals. I politely explained to the manager that this is the national championship series versus a regular season football game and the room is full of people wearing Mets jerseys, and I thought this was unfair to majority in the bar. I proposed that she put football on the small screen, but she said that she had to be fair to all the customers. normally that would make sense between competing sports. But NOT when it’s a national championship series and the Mets have not been there for almost EIGHT YEARS. Also, at that point, the bar was completely full, so there was nowhere to sit if I moved to another part of the bar to watch on the big screen. so had to watch the Mets on a small screen, the same size TV in my house which totally defeats the purpose of going to a sports bar. very disappointing decision making by Manager
Great food, its very very busy here so dont expect super fast service but overall excellent when it comes to food and drinks
Typical sports bar near port authority however they charged me for cheese on the pretzel appetizer. They didn’t say, and no one mentioned, they would charge me extra for cheese. So the bill shows up and there’s additional charge? They should be transparent on pricing and upfront. Very disappointed and won’t be returning here.
Came for the Tyson and Paul fight. Madison and Terry were very attentive and did a great job of keeping up with the crowd. All of the staff was very hospitable.
I was out shopping with the bestie and was like looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. We past through and said what a nice outdoor setup. We ended up choosing Stout to eat at. We chose to sit outdoors. The hostess seated us and provided the menu. We kept it simple ordering the Stout burger w/ bacon with a side salads and an order of fries The burger was excellent!!! In fact it was all excellent. We also ordered the Hibiscus Arnold Palmer drink is was definitely different. Lol over all it was a great experience. Staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs.Social distancing was definitely practiced and I must say they had the best sanitized utensil pack I’ve ever seen. Packed in a ziplock and included a Stout greeting, utensils, napkins, wetwipes, mints and sealed with a tampersafe sticker. Other establishments need to step their game up. Lol We plan to definitely come back.
Emailed from UK as we wanted to watch England in the euros with my 16 year old. Great communication. Booked us a table and capped it off with a last minute bicycle from Jude Bellingham, go Stout 😍. Great pub, top food, amazing staff
Happy hour at Stout with a few good friends is always fun. Great food, drinks and service.
Multiple levels and small rooms for this popular Irish upscale pub. Comfortable bar. New renditions of classic Irish tavern food favorites. Friendly and helpful staff. Can get busy as close to Madison Square Garden. Outdoor seating available. Nice selection of beers and all cocktails.
Incredible place to stop by for drinks and food. Service is top notch and the atmosphere is very welcoming
Great service, great food. Amazing beer and other alcohol selection. Go here every year for a get together and it never disappoints!
Excellent service and delicious food! Top tier restaurant, I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
Ok atmosphere, the Guinness was good, but the bartender gave me a strange look when I asked to scratch my back
Food was excellent and atmosphere was great. The burger I got was 10/10 and it was made with quality ingredients. Our sever could have been a bit more attentive
Im a lover of stout beers so I naturally wanted to try this place. The beer menu is extensive with many stouts in addition to other beers. I came alone late one night and was seated in the quieter back section - a nice touch, as the place is very large and spacious, and can be quite noisy. I tried the Everything Crusted Ahi Tuna (see photo). Service was very fast and the food was delicious. I will be back to sample the many beers on the menu and the (much appreciated) vegetarian and non-meat food options! The midtown location is just steps from Penn Station and Madison Square Gardens, so its easy to nip in there for a quick beer or a bite while waiting for a train.
The staff at the bar was very friendly and accommodating . I had some calamari which was scrumptious. Just being there was delightful. #NYNYDont forget your Jab passport!
Loved this place for a quick lunch! It is a great sports bar too. Must try the Frose!
Sat at the end of the bar near the service area before a concert at MSG- could not even believe how hard they work. The staff here is literally non stop and awesome! The loaded fries and seasonal drinks were great, go show them love💛
Great bar and service. They did not have food available but allowed us to bring in any food that we wanted which was awesome. A great experience.
Nice bar with some outdoor seatings. The stout here is pretty good, smooth and creamy. The order system on the phone is pretty efficient, and you could keep the tab open on your own phone, and thus it is easy to split the bill with your friends as well.A recommended place if you are in the area and want some places to drink!
We made reservations for a Sunday afternoon. We sat downstairs and it wasnt super busy when we went. It took forever for our server to come to the table. We ordered beer and food. That actually came out quickly. The chicken fingers were the driest, gross, stringy frozen pieces if food Ive ever had. It was also cold. My BF burger wasnt great either. He wanted another beer and I wanted to send my food back. She never came and checked on us at all. After more than half hour, I went and grabbed the hostess to let her know. We definitely wont be back. The worst service weve experienced in the city.
Went here to catch the end of a Yankee playoff game. I used to work in the are and would be here from time to time, as they always had a good beer selection. My wifes enjoys the oysters. This time around my wife had a stout and and avacado toast which she wasnt a fan of unfortunately. I had come and wings. Then wings were very meaty and flavorful, but sometimes the breading felt a little sloppy. Id order them again though. Overall a good experience.
Good atmosphere, but 1 working toilet for a bar that has capacity for hundreds of people is unacceptable.
First time at Stout and I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. Grab a quick drink here before the Knicks game, a bit crowded but still able to get service pretty quickly. Plenty of space, I believe and upstairs, downstairs and floor level. 🍻 on tap not too bad either. I would recommend as a quick hang out spot.
Great vibe, healthy salad choices and friendly bar staff
5 stars just off the fact that they ask you if your going to the Knicks game, therefore seating you separately so you can get your food in time to make the game. I thought that was really cool on their part. We were in and out in 45 min
Stout is alive everytime I come to it. I have been going to Stout, on and off, since 2007 and it never disappoints. I finally took a picture of some food today, I usually eat it before I remember because it looks so good. I ordered the crabmeat and shrimp burger and it was delectable.
I was in town for a meeting and had some time for dinner. I was really in the mood for a beer so I decided on going to Stout. They have a great selection on tap and good food. I was seated immediately even though the place was packed. I started with a Troegs Chocolate Stout which was fantastic. Beautiful color and perfectly poured. Dinner was the angry burger. A burger dipped in franks red hot, topped with blue cheese and fried onions. It hit the spot. I definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the Penn Station area.
Been here twice already, good food and good if you like watching sports or just want a casual time.
Great staff! There was a big football game on when I arrived, but I was looking for somewhere to watch the US Open tennis (weird that you can’t watch it anywhere in NYC) and asked the seating hostess if they were showing it. They weren’t, but she found me a TV in the back and switched the channel so that I could watch. Without sound, of course, but better than nothing and the effort was certainly appreciated. The fans watching the football look like they’re having a great time too. The mocktail I had was delicious and very refreshing. Would definitely recommend for sports’ fans.
Like everywhere else in NY - expensive! Guinness was great. Beautiful decor. Lots of whiskey. Bar staff a little generic.
Wings and sliders were amazing. The drinks arent bad either. Nice music and atmosphere but can get crowded on Knicks and Rangers game night. As a sports fan, I loved it.
They seated our party of 3 when only 2 were present. Our third showed up 20 minutes later and was denied entry due to capacity. Manager was very rude and made our third cry so we left. They admitted it was their fault but had no alternative resolution. Don’t seat parties that you can’t honor. Get bent.
Nice bar close to MSG. Very cool basement bar section when opened. They pour a proper Guinness and prices are NY reasonable.
Great location - very close to the action and a quick walk from Macy’s. Walking in, the vibe was fun and cool. Food was great and came out timely. Drinks were good, however I ordered a margarita with muddled blueberry and it tasted like jalapeños. Only thing was our waitress disappeared after our food came out. They checked on us one time and brought out ketchup then was nowhere to be found. We waited about 20-30min before being able to ask for the bill. We originally wanted dessert but was annoyed after the wait and decided to pay and leave.
Food was pretty good and all of the staff were so nice to us!
Service and Atmosphere are great! Food is not on par, but still fun!
Located just 1/2 a block east of Penn Station & Madison Sq Garden this is a good place to wait before you travel or see an event or grab a bite and beer arriving into the city. Its bar food with burgers & sandwiches with good but greasy fries. They have large pizzas to share. Beers =4star ... name the type you like theres a half dozen of that style to choose. High top tables on the first floor, upstairs is traditional table seats. For those upstairs, be kind to your wait staff they have to run up and down to the bar & basement kitchen for everything you order. Giving a shout out to management there was a slight snafu with our order, they went above and beyond to fix it! Thats where the 5stars go!
Pretty good dinner served to Us by a really great waiter. Drinks were all right what atmosphere was totally fun. May you play the music of what we were going to see at MSG soon after. Prices werent horrible!
Stout is a great BAR to go hang with a few friends, get loud, watch the game and chill. It is not a family spot or a first date spot- its a loud place and you cant hear each other. Food is ok but nothing spectacular. Service was slow and inconsistent. We had to flag down our waitress a few times. Its not a place I would plan to go but will definitely visit if Im in the area.
Great selection of Stout beers! The staff is super friendly and the place is huge. I cant say anything about the food since we were looking to grab a quick drink only.
Good service. Nice location. Food leaves much to be desired. Fish and chips were rubbery. Burgers weren’t cooked medium well (which was the temp ordered). If you need time to kill before getting on the train I guess it’s a good option because the drinks are good. The service, locale, and drinks are the positives. The food is a huge negative.
Ordered veggie burger and french fries. The food was delicious and in budget. Recommend the above meal only when you are very very hungry. Wasnt able to eat the fries. Amazing place
Just had a couple of beers with a friend here on a Friday early afternoon. We were both impressed with everything: great service, decent selection, very cool setup. Just wished nachos were on the menu. Ill definitely come back soon!
We stayed here for a quick dinner. The food is very good. But…We took three fish & chips and one steak sandwich. We also ordered one portion of fries.Unfortunately they took us 3 portion of fries and only one of the salads with the fish & chips had dressing. All in all, good food at market price of NY, with some problems in the service.Better to fix those things.
I went whit my girlfriends last Saturday to this place before to a concert, I been there a couple times but this time was kind of weird because I order 2 whisky on the rocks and they charge me for the ice, I been in a lot restaurants in NYC and I don’t see any place to charge you for the ice that was so stupid and I make complain about that because is so unreal. But the waiter they say ho we charge everything here, come on if you go a bar and you asking for a whisky on the rock you don’t charge for that, that is stupid. The food was good and the service was ok.
If I could give this place a -10,000-star review, I would. I came here with my coworkers, and as we were leaving, the bouncer started physically pushing us and verbally abusing me and my friends for no apparent reason. We were sitting quietly in one corner all night, so this behavior was completely unprovoked and unjustified. When I tried to take a photo of the bouncer to document his aggression, he snatched my phone away, only returning it after pushing me around again and continuing to curse at me. He even falsely accused my friend of inappropriate behavior, which was entirely untrue. Regardless, nothing could justify the level of physical and verbal abuse we experienced. What made it worse was the female hostess who stood by and defended the bouncer’s actions, showing a complete disregard for our safety and well-being. This experience not only ruined my night but also left me feeling unsafe and deeply disappointed as a visitor to this city. This bouncer is not protecting anyone; he’s dangerous, and his actions were completely unacceptable. I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.
Stopped in last night for food and drinks after seeing the tree and some Christmas Shopping. They had some music blasting, I mean 1970s Disco dance floor loud. Totally inappropriate, you couldnt talk, not a dance club. Walked out and went next door. Id been there before, sometimes for informal business meetings, and it was fine. Besides the ridiculous volume, not sure what music it was, but certainly not in keeping with the Irish Pub atmosphere they are trying to recreate.
This bar is definitely worth the five stars! My friend and I had an awesome time here. Theres a great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. They have an amazing selection of drinks and food, so you cant go wrong with anything. The music was just right and the prices are very reasonable. Overall, its a great place to kick back and have a night out. Highly recommended!
Liked the bar, but the wine was ridiculously expensive, a lot more than other similar bars charge so swerved this after our first visit.
I went here for the first time with some friends before seeing The Cure play their last of 3 shows in Madison Square Garden. We were seated in the main section of the lower level. I had the Street Fries and Green Goddess (turkey) Burger with sweet potato fries. I found out from the door people that they play music and videos related to the event going on in Madison Square Garden that day. The food was amazing and I highly recommend the fries and burger I ordered, as well as just going there to hang out before a show. The employees were friendly and attentive. Also its very close to Madison Square Garden and near lots of transportation in the area.
Great food and service. Very good beer list as well. Recommend a seat at the bar. Bartenders know their stuff and are really nice.
Came here with family and co workers and had a great time. Staff found us a larger table than we originally reserved. Food was good and drinks as well. Be advised there are 3 Irish Pubs in a row, one on either side of Stout, so if you are meeting people, it is easy to go to the wrong location.
Sat outside. Ordered for 6 using QR code. It was packed inside, but drinks came in 5min, and food came in 15min. Turkey burger was great, as were sweet potato fries.
Three of us went here for lunch; one was a returning patron who recommended this place. He was absolutely accurate; the food, atmosphere, and service were all great. We did not have reservations, but were seated immediately in one of the booths on the main floor. (There is an upstairs section and a large room in the back, as well.)Our server greeted us immediately and made recommendations when I was debating between a couple of different items. Two of us had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which was very yummy! It has coleslaw, pickles, and a delicious sauce on it. The bun was so soft and fluffy. It is served with a very generous side of fries. The other guest had a burger, which she enjoyed very much. There is a good-sized offering of both tap and bottled beers, including plenty of IPAs, stouts, and porters. Their mixed drinks special menu has a good variety as well. One friend had the kinamona. She let me try it, and its definitely something Id order when I go back. (Allspice-infused Bacardi rum, pineapple juice, apple cider, fresh lime juice, cinnamon simple syrup, peach bitters)We would definitely return again.
A cool bar, just above a dive! The wings were amazingly delicious. Just what we needed to end our evening!
I celebrated being inducted into the Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity New York Alumnae Chapter with my Sisters! We had a great time and the food was delicious! We shared the Fries, Fish Tacos, Chicken Fingers and Spinach Artichoke Dip!! I would definitely go back when I return to NYC!🌹🎶♥️
Enjoyed a pre-concert dinner here before heading to MSG.Sat downstairs where the noise level was a bit more tolerable. Main floor is VERY loud, hard to talk without shouting at each other.Food was tasty and kitchen was nice and quick, despite the large dining room.Didnt appreciate the $0.75 upcharge for an ounce of extra ketchup... Especially when we ordered burgers and fries and got one little half size dish of ketchup. Come on!Service didnt really stand out, had to flag down someone to get the extra ketchup and our bill.Stout made it to 4 stars for the convenience during this visit, didnt need a reservation to get in on a Tuesday evening at 6pm and the overall menu choices.Otherwise 3 stars for service and overall value.
I come here all the time!!! And this one bartender completely turned me off! He’s arrogate sarcastic and very nasty for no reason. I do not appreciate this. I will not come here anymore it’s very unwelcoming to get spoken to this way in the middle of food drinks and fun. Very unnecessary. The rest of the bartenders and waiters are amazing. They’re attentive and respectful to every single customer. He’s not. His attitude is very distasteful and makes you not want to come again.
Not really tHe NYCFC they say they are. And I’m being polite
Very nice bar, the beer was good, beautiful in the back room. It could have used a few more bathrooms but they might have been spread out it was hard to tell. It was a little crowded before the game but the atmosphere was nice.
Go to spot before going to MSG. They allow reservations online and have great food. Super close to MSG + penn station.
Great bar just a block away from Macey. Great selection of beer, food good.
Overall weird experience. We left comments on the reservation that we were coming to watch a specific game, we were seated at a table where only half of us could see the TVs. There was a fight over the TV, the channel was changed 4 times before the managers could agree on what would be on each TV. Good food and drink, and our server was great. But we were brought an unordered beer from a bar tender, the way it was presented made us uncomfortable. He asked “will you drink the whole thing?” And then commented “it’s new and untouched”. The interaction made us think the drink had been messed with, made us uncomfortable enough to leave and go to the bar next door. Overall, weird vibes.
Horrible, don’t go here to watch a rangers game… the rude staff will say they hit “capacity” and won’t let you inside… go to American whiskey instead
Im giving stout 3 stars because one of the employees. She rudely told my son and I that we couldnt sit at the table we were because they were reserved. I had to tell her to watch how she was speaking to me and let her know the hostess seated us at the table. Instead of asking she just assumed we moved our seats. Her attitude killed my vibes because I always enjoy going Stout. Thank goodness Janet Jackson made the rest of my night alright.
Called in for a drink. Atmosphere was good plenty of sports on the screens.Great choice of beers available. If youre passing by definitely worth a visit
The staff is unsafe and unstable !!!!!! One of their bouncers is completely unhinged and thinks it’s okay to physically and verbally abuse customers for no reason ?? Would not return here if someone paid me. Beware that your physical safety is at risk when you think about dining here.
Place was packed but there was a concert and it was 630 no worries . Staff was great atmosphere was good . Id go back to try a meal . Sliders were good
Great food and service. I have been there when it was busy and quiet and both times did not disappoint.
Waiter was fantastic and plenty of beers and food choices. The food was very good. The atmosphere is very fun, being a sports bar right near MSG. Would recommend to watch a game or get a beer before an event.
The beauty of STOUT is that it’s my go to bar for sports & a beer sampler. The spinach & artichoke dip is the BEST ! The food is delicious & on point & the staff is always there to tend to your needs no matter how packed the place is you NEVER feel neglected at STOUT & that means a lot ! Sadly when I went there the islanders lost to the Tampa bay lightning who won the Stanley cup
Food was good, but the wait staff was very inattentive. Was missing a set of utensils, forgot to give one of us water, rice was missing from one of the meals, order of fries was missing and had to be re-requested when the waitress finally returned to check on us. The place was empty as well so surprised by the lack of attention.
I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times and today me and my mates got the worst customer service at the bar, the bartender we had Nelson was the absolute worst , once we told him we were undecided on drinks he visible rolled his eyes and told us “I work for tips and you guys can leave”. We were so taken aback because it was very unlike the service we received before. The burger was not cooked the way we asked and we we mentioned it to our bartender he simply told us “I don’t cook the food”NEVER COMING BACK UNTIL THEY get better trained Bartenders.
We stopped in before the Depeche Mode show at the Garden. Great beer selection and the food was good. We had apps and the service was good despite it being very busy in there. Nice vibe and experience.
The new years party was great!
For a game definitely great until the drinks kick in and only two bathrooms available but still manageable for the location. Bartenders are friendly and food is hit, consistent and flavorful
Excellent service! Made a reservation the day before and received a confirmation call the following morning. As part of this call I was asked what game my party wanted to watch and I supplied this information and was told that they would seat my party of six by the TV with this game. When we arrived we were seated promptly and the game we requested was on the TV directly in front of the table where we were seated. Our server was stellar and the food was great !
Stout went above and beyond accommodating our group of 20, despite having no reservations. They rearranged things swiftly, making room for us, and the seamless service set a positive tone for our experience. THANK YOU!!
Good food, relaxed and fun atmosphere. only flaw my credit card was charged before I verified it. style drop. it is right that the customer checks the account first and then proceeds to payment
This is a pretty cool bar. The bartenders will also drink really good drinks. They have TVs for people to watch games and stuff. This bar has been here for years. The menu has some better options but I didnt eat anything. Overall a good spot to hangout
Ordered the chicken tenders, a burger, and dessert. Everything was cooked well and was very tasty!
Been coming here for years about 12 now, food quality has gone so far down hill. Bad last year, even worse this year. Will not be giving another try. Not to mention the last two times no untils/ napkins were given. Had to hunt down random worker to get the check. Food came out cold as well, apps the same time as entrees as they were originally forgotten. Do yourself a favor and go to a million of the other options in the city worth visiting.
The premiere pub in NYC. There is no place better to go for a big local game, a night out with your friends or just a stop in before hitting the train from Penn station on your way home. Stout is a legendary place with a few locations around the city and you cannot go wrong stopping in.
Great bar. Plenty of space. Upstairs and 2 downstairs bars + Private pool rooms for rent. Really good time close to MSG/Penn
Just ok. Food and service were mid. Its SUPER loud and overstimulating. Wouldnt come back.
We came in late night, service was hit and miss. The drinks were good. The place was fairly clean and we were pretty happy with the place overall.I rate this 3 stars because even with it being 1/3 full we were a bit disappointed in having to wait for just water. Or for anything. There were 3 people working and not that many people in the building at all - and we were having to wait, the staff was sitting around talking.
Kiari is the best host. Very attentive to customers needs. Will look forward to coming back with group of friends.
Excellent upscale twist on traditional Irish favorites and more! Steps from Penn Station... easy to get a quick bite before boarding your train. Also, if watching the big game with a like minded crowd is on your list... this is the place!
Yall have GOT to get the bathrooms together. Yes, its midtown, but do better. Had I eaten, I would have thrown up at the state of the bathrooms.
Had a horrible experience yesterday where one of their “bouncers” grabbed me by my shirt and threatened me. I’ll never go here again. I wish I got a photo of the guy to show the world what horrible people they hire.
Great food. The burger was perfectly done and juicy. Nice ambiance inside. Excellent drinks as well.
Stout is awesome! Great fun place in NYC. Drinks are great, the buffalo calamari is to die for, and our meals were great! Huge downstairs but not sure if that’s just for private events! Really fun place
OOF. Came in to watch a game. It wasnt on. I asked a hostess, who sweetly told me a manger would put it on a tv near me and sat me at a high top. Ordered a Guinness. Ordered a chicken sandwich. Drink came. Food came. Game was never put on.Chicken sandwich was supposed to have cheddar (there was none), avocado (*perhaps a razor thin slice) aoli...( none anywhere to be seen) - what it did have was chicken. Loads of absolutely overcooked, unseasoned, flavorless chicken stuffed between two pieces of bread.. Theres pub fare and theres pub fare. This was just terrible. But i was starving, so i ate it - and watched the game i came in to see on my phone. The waitress was lovely. Hostess too. I just wish the manager had said - sorry - we wont be putting that game on, instead of lying/spacing out and forgetting.
Fresh cold drinks! nice atmosphere, must try
Theres a lot to love about this place for sure! We enjoyed a number of delicious beers (plus they had a wide variety of beers available that we didnt have time to try all of) during our stop in. The nachos were fantastic, and I loved the fish and chips (Well, the fish anyway. I wasnt a fan of the fries personally but everyone else seemed to enjoy them). Definitelt s great place to stop in for a quick bite and a few cold ones!
Generally I never have an issue with pub food but this one drops the ball when I’m mad starved for a meal. After being seated and placing my order, it was 10 minutes to get a glass of water; 13 minutes for my beer and and 18 minutes for an overcooked burger that remained on the table and on the check til I objected. I know I’m not the only table being served, but really! Sell the place, hit the snooze button and go back to sleep instead of coming in to offer half measures.
When we called and asked if they were known as the Denver Bronco bar we get told yes we are. They never played the game. They rarely checked on us, but checked on everyone else around us. The chicken sandwich was oddly stretchy and got upset that we sent it back. Beer glasses and water glasses were empty and never was asked if we wanted another one or a refill, they looked at it and left it on the table. We are in the food industry as well and this was an awful experience. Take better care of your tables
Literally the best time thanks to Phoebe! After a long day she told us we looked ethereal and brought my friend a surprise bday dessert to celebrate! Thanks again for being so kind!
Food and drinks were great. Just the service was extremely slow. The two waitresses would just ignore us and it took them 45 minutes to give us our check and finally pick it up and bring it back. Even though it was barely busy.
Caroline was the best. Picked the best beers for us. Ask for her when you come to Stout! #1
Nice pub type bar near MSG. Great place to go before a game or event. Food and appetizers were good and plenty of beer or drinks from a well stocked bar to choose from. If you want a seat at the bar get there before 5 pm.
Large bar with extensive beer list.
Service was great!! & security was fineeeeeeeeee and super sweet!! The ambiance is pretty dope!!
The restaurant discriminates based on political affiliation. Disgusting.
This place was so roomy and extremely clean. Only downside was that such a big place, only had 2, single occupant bathrooms.I had the strip steak and it was delicious. My daughter had the grilled chicken sandwich and she loved it. This was a mid afternoon Sat, and it wasn’t too busy, but I’m sure it gets its fair share of people when nighttime comes around.
Fantastic place for soccer and friends. Love their use of TabbedOut mobile app. Fast and easy. Friendly and fun. Have a Guinness and visit nextdoor too. Checkout the back private green room. Massive TVs and lovely outdoor seating.
Really great food! I was in the private room in the back with my coworkers and even their shoter menu they give for private parties had a ton of variety and had gluten free options! I got the steak sandwich with a gluten free roll and it was fabulous. They also carried gluten free beer and drink options as well. Great place to go for gluten free people eating out with their allergy free friends and family!
Atmosphere is wonderful, the bartender was attentive to our needs. His suggestions on portions were on point and he even saved me money. This place is worthy of its prestige placement in the middle of herald square and Madison sqaur
Yesterday we played some kind of a pub quiz on the basement floor of the pub. A waiter who served our table refused to open an additional tab for our table. He didn’t apologize or try to be polite, he just said “if you don’t add your order to one of the opened tabs, you won’t get any food”, it was extremely rude and insulting and spoiled the impression of the evening. I don’t know the waiters name, but he was Russian-speaking. Kindly ask the management of the bar to follow up on that case. Thanks!
I AM VERY DISGUSTED BY THE MANAGEMENT STAFF. I’ve been coming to this bar since I moved here last summer. When I walked in I was surprised to hear that the Dallas and Tampa Bay game did not have the audio playing. Usually, there is audio playing during Sunday and Monday night games that I attend here. I asked my server if I can request audio. My server then said they were going to send the manager over. When the manager DAMIEN arrived to my table and I requested the game audio DAMIEN had a very dismissive tone stating my friend and I were the only people who requested the audio. He also stated since there was a mixed crowd he was not going to switch the music off. I then asked oh so our request didn’t not mean anything, Damien shrugged his shoulders then walked off. I later found out the music playing was Damien’s music playlist.
Loved it, went on a Saturday night, apparently theres karaoke until 3am, awesome times, awesome vibes.
What a way to celebrate my last day of the coat drive than to have one last lunch hour with my fellow co-workers. My boss decided to take us out personally and I greatly appreciate that. Anyway, this place is freaking spacious so it can easily accommodate any large group of people for events. The staff are real friendly and are very knowledgeable of their menu and drinks. As a first-timer, I went with their recommendation which is a Hop a Cab.......yes, it is a real drink and I thought it was funny when I first heard the name. It was really good though and so was the chicken sandwich. All in all, I would recommend this place for a large gathering or if you want to have some variety during your visit.
High energy yet very relaxed. The food is delicious. The cocktails are made to perfection. The service is top notch. Definitely one of my favorite places to meet with friends or grab a quick bite solo. The wall behind the bar is full of flat-screen televisions. Perfect for sport fans to watch multiple games at the same time. It does get pretty busy on game days, but the service does not change/decrease in value. I absolutely love it. Every visit has been lovely and I always leave with a tummy full of delicious foods and drinks and a smile on my face.
I come here for my favorite LI beer. 🫐 Good beer selection and atmosphere.
Great Irish Pub with a lot of beers on tap and good service. Great to watch sports. The menu was good and the food was delicious. Recommend the chicken caesar.
Great people all there to have a good time. Bartenders are on point! Loaded French fries were amazing
The drink options are quite good. I had a few drinks that I never heard of and ended up really liking. The prices where quite out there for mixed drinks and I can’t afford to consistently come there. When looking at the bill I was very surprised at what I was seeing haha. I do have to say the house cut fries here are absolutely delicious. While the food is probably not the main reason for many people’s visits, I have to point out the good quality. If I were to come back again, I would know how to go about my ordering so that I spend only an arm, not both my arms and legs lol. If you got money and don’t really care then this is a nice choice. It is a tad bit loud for my taste but compared to many other bars this spot is actually very tamed; and this was on a Saturday night. Over all decent place for the fat wallet, enjoy your options.
Stout is a huge bar and restaurant with several different bar areas in various rooms and seating across multiple floors. The decor is dark, and there are a decent amount of TVs if youre there to watch sports. If youre going for happy hour, the bar areas can be packed and it may take a while to get a drink. If you sit at a table, the server is quick and friendly. There is a great bottle and draft beer selection.
We had lunch. The salad I had was great. The appetizer which was cauliflower had a nice and intense flavor. The atmosphere - very Irish pub like.
The service was okay I felt like I was going to a place where only old people go to . The food gave me food poisoning and it was a steak sandwich. I feel like they don’t know what is medium rare
This place was better than expected. Much bigger on the inside than it looks from the street. Good beer selection and they made a nice cocktail. I will be back.
Good place to go for a drink or a casual meal before going to MSG. I had a steak sandwich on a gluten free bun (which I greatly appreciated). It was good even though the amount of steak was skimpy. The fries were good though.
Service wasnt good. I had a Group of non ny and I wish the Service was on point. I had call them over a couple of times . No one came over to see if we needed more drinks. Just wasnt happy with Service
Based on the proximity to Penn Station and the reviews, I wasnt expecting to like Stout. The extensive beer menu and ambiance changed my mind though. Yes it feels a bit like a frat house, especially the lower level basement, but the brick work is not that bad. Food is standard bar food but pretty decent, especially the nachos. The beer menu isnt immense, but has some good seasonal choices and things different than the average commuting bar.
Good bar with a nice beer list. The food is also very decent. Establishment is nicely done and staff friendly and helpful.TVs are a tad too high if you want to watch but thats really only a very small niggle.
Come here for my formula one meetup
As with many who work in the area, this is our after work go to spot to unwind.Stout is one of the larger bars in the area. It has two floors and plenty of room. They have numerous beers on tap, knowledgeable and efficient bartenders and plenty of TVs to watch the current game. The food is typical bar fare and enjoyable with good size portions.Tip: Looking to have a quieter conversation head downstairs.
The food was awesome, the prices were lower than I expected, and the service was excellent. The server kept a great place which allowed us to enjoy our meal and didnt interrupt our conversation. The food was very fresh and full of flavor. I look forward to coming back!
Deafeningly loud! Bad food. Crowded. Spend your money next door, never ate there but you can have a conversation with your friends.
This place was such a random gem that we stumbled upon outside of the Garden. They have 3 floors of space and its very open and roomy. We watched a basketball game on the tvs and ordered a few beers and food, and everything was great. Our server couldnt have been nicer. Would definitely recommend for watching games or just grabbing a drink!
Great sports bar to catch a football game with a decent beer selection and a great burger
Not a bad place. Has a cool dark look. Its not like the hole-in-the-wall Irish bars youll come across in NYC. You do get a commercial/corporate vibe. Huge place, lots of seating. Close to Madison Square Garden. Okay prices.
Food was great, service was good and atmosphere during a jets game was super fun!
We are here almost every week, playing the Russian trivia game downstairs and the staff here has been treating us very nicely. We often come earlier to eat and drink before the game and they are amazing in terms of understanding that the food has to be served ASAP so that we are done eating before the questions start as it gets very intense. The food is excellent here and the dipping sauces make it even better. The reason for the four stars is because they need to fix the doors in the downstairs women bathroom-only one door locks!
Typical Irish pub. Great for watching sports. Outdoor seating available during good weather. Close to Penn station.
I ended up in this place on a Friday night, my friends and I were looking for a place to have drinks and a quick bite before a concert at MSG. The bartender was helpful and friendly, the food menu provided a lot of options. The place was busy but it didnt take too long to get our food and drinks. Great place for Happy Hour or pre-show at MSG.
Arrived with a group of eight at 7:30p and was told that we could get a table, but would need to be out by 8:20p for a reservation. Didnt get menus till 8:10p so you can imagine an 8:20 cutoff wasnt going to happen.Server was almost never to be found even after the fact. A gentleman who looked to be a floor manager came to the rescue and got us started with taking the orders. But after he left, still never saw our server until almost 30 min later! Food arrived finally, but an order was messed up, not surprisingly.Great atmosphere that night, awesome beer selection, but service sucked big time!
Great place to meet up if youre heading to the Madison Square Garden or Penn Station after. Solid food, great selection of Beers and Drinks and fast friendly service. Can handle bigger groups too.
The bar upstairs is far better than the bar downstairs - there is a much larger beer list. Ive gone a few times when they have been out of the beer I wanted, but overall good service and selection. Downstairs can be a bit dark but there is more open space for a larger group.
Great bar. Food was ok
Was there on Saturday Feb 9th, 2019 at midnight visiting from Canada. Overall a good experience, minus a waitress not giving me back the correct change from a drink. Atmosphere was good and had a lot of fun doing Karaoke and Jason the DJ on duty was cool:) Overall Id go back again when Im in New York City next time.
Great place to hang out before a show or game at the Garden to have a bite or something to drink. Quick friendly service and reasonable prices for Manhattan. Give it a shot if youre trying to kill time before or after a show or if youre just in that area of the city and want to watch a game.
Watched the rangers herein! What an atmosphere....
Great place to catch the Texas game and drink cold Shiner beer in tap. The hot pretzel and spinach artichoke dip. The folks next to us at the bar ordered wings and they looked like they were worth a try next time around.
Very cool midtown venue. Comfortable, casual, yet a touch of class. Great beers. Friendly staff. Good food. Walking distance to Penn Station. One of my new favorite places in midtown Manhattan.
Big beautiful bar. Lots of space, all the TVs and snappy service. Good for a quick pint or a night out with the guys. Definitely not cheap…
Stopped by after a Ranger game and was not disappointed. Great variety of beers and a fantastic menu. The staff was great too! Looks like I have a new place to go after Ranger games!
Always a good time at Stout. Friendly staff and a great beer selection. The food is good too. Ive been there on my own and for our holiday party down stairs. If youre looking for place to hold a private event, this is a good place.
Super accommodating space. Knows how to handle emotional Knicks fans and always maintains a great vibe!High recommend for Sports outings
Very friendly staff and good service. Nice cocktails and tasty food. Good sized wings and loaded fries were nice (not unnecessarily loaded with cheese etc).
Came for a late night drink, not disappointed.Offered free samples when asked about couple of beers never tried before. Never before been able to try so many different styles of beers in one place. My favorite, Brooklyns Dark Chocolate Imperial Stout.
Best ribs ever. They literally slide off the bone. They have great flavor. They have a great selection of beers. They have plenty of seating. Highly recommended if you are attending an event at Madison Square Garden.
Solid sports bar- the Wisconsin Pizza was great!
Highly recommended venue for New Years Eve. No need to to make reservations, seating is available and yet its got a good crowd. Extensive beer list although much of it is bottles. Food is better than your average pub.
Awesome environment. Great location. I didn’t care for the wings, only allowed breaded and not spicy. I didn’t like that the beer percent was on the menu.
We ordered with a waitress whose shift was over, and then we had to order again. He had it ALL messed up
Jim is absolutely amazing! Stopped in to watch a crazy World Series game Sunday night. Being from Texas my husband and I were not sure what experience we would receive. Jim was friendly, talkative and pours a great drink. We enjoyed ourselves so much we came back the following night.
I watch the F1 here!! Superb atmosphere!! The staff very good!! During my stay in NY I return to have drinks here a couple of times!
Fun place to go to hang out and have a few drinks before going to a Ranger game. Took about 15 to 20 minutes to get a beer at the bar but I guess thats a good thing because it means business was doing good. Alot of options to choose from! Would definitly come here again.
The staff at the bar was friendly and helpful to “out of towners”! We will recommend the food, the bar and the service! We had fun!
Clean, friendly staff. Very loud but its a typical sports bar in nyc. Not your local pub kinda place. Drinks and service was fine but drinks are a tad pricey.
Great pub with a good menu, great beers and excellent cocktails. Lots to do. The server, Sarah is absolutely amazing! Take good care of her and shell take great care of you! Great experience! Wont forget!
Expensive, tourist trap, very close to the Garden. Though they have an extensive list of great beers. Place is huge with two floors. Its a great meeting place for a pregame drink for a game or concert at the garden. Friendly staff and beer selection beats the prices for an every so often trip.
I was there for a company event but they had good food, good drinks, and pool tables
Had a good time with a group of friends. Drinks were average price. Good place to hangout after the party. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Will go back again.
The drinks were great but the service took forever. Over 30 minutes for just 3 drinks on a Tuesday afternoon.
My food was really good (shrimp Caesar salad) and the location was perfect. Came here before a Queen concert at Madison Square Garden. All of the TVs were playing queen shows and it was a good start to the night!
Very spacious and many seats inside. Came here on a Sunday afternoon to have some Guinness. Servers are very attentive and helpful.
Spacious and friendly staff. Ooo and they give you the whole bottle when you order champagne just saying lol
Only stopped in for a drink after work on friday. Typical crowd in midtown.. Little older tho. Beer selection is nice and extra space and bars downstairs are essential. Prices are typical and there were no specials.Good spot to go before a Rangers or Knicks game
Though they specialize in stouts, they still have a large selection of other beers. Even though I dont like stouts at all, I still had a few good beers here. Its a bit too much of a sports bar for my liking. The cheese and fruit plate, the artichoke dip, and the fries were all pretty good.
Plain and simply great! Highly recommend it!
This place is huge and its a good thing, between being close to Penn Station for all the commuters and huge TVs for sports games I have a feeling this is a hot spot. I went on a Friday for Happy Hour and it was pretty packed. It gets really loud so I dont recommend it if you are looking or a place to chat with friends. The food was okay, there was nothing especially unique and the quality was average. In my opinion this is the place to go for a few beers and watch the game before commuting home.
I ask for a Pina cola and gave me a different drink and told me they dont make frozen drinks but it shows on there web site. The waiter never came back. This place i dont recommend to anyone.
