Upper Easts relaxed and full of energy bar ideal for group gatherings as they have lots of booths and big tables but also cozy enough for a date night. They host live music performances, markets, trivia nights, and so much more (check their Instagram). Plus, kudos for creating a safe space in the bar (bathroom sign).I went for the Oscars Viewing Party but ended up early so I got to enjoy Kacie Sky’s performance.P.S their Happy Hour runs from 4-7pm during weekdays! Also you can bring your own food!!!
Very cute and chill spot. Live music every Thursdays, trivia every Wednesday, weekly themes. Free popcorn. No ID check, no dance floor, games included. Drinks are regular priced.
I came here with friends on a Friday for some drinks after work with friends from the hospital and there was screaming karaoke in the back it was HORRIBLE by a bunch of young young kids. We were looking for a chilled spot to have drinks but this was not it!
Great atmosphere, you get popcorns with drinks
Alyssa is such a nice person. Best bar tender in the hood. Coming back.
Bring your own food bar. Nice and chill.
Yesterday, I went to this place at 2 AM. The place had few people, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The vibe and ambiance were really enjoyable.
Super fun bar with great music and decoration! Their drinks are delicious, strong and not too expensive. I also love that they have games, free popcorn and allow you to bring your own food. It is always my go-to place when I want to have a good time with friends or just play domino over a drink with my husband. :)
This bar hires performers who joke about and support the brutal attack that occurred in israel on 10/7 as well as making fun of Israelis who were personally affected. I don’t go out to bars to hear about political views, especially when those views support a terrorist organization that also hates America. There are plenty of bars in the UES. I strongly advise you to go anywhere BUT here.
Absolutely love this place.Amazing vibes, well priced drinks. Love the halloween decorations. Love all the different tv streams so my girlie can watch frasier and fairly odd parents while I watch the worst college football games.Shoutout to Shay and Alyssa for amazing service.
Great bar in the upper east side! Cheap drinks and great vibes!
First bar I went to in NY, and I will definitely be back. The drinks are delicious and affordable, the touch of popcorn to munch on was a great experience. The bartenders were friendly and welcoming
Great place for trivia! Free popcorn with every round of drinks, very competitive trivia and you have to know the categories well. Fun drinks and a good time!
This place is a vibe UNLESS this man is working the bar. He will skip songs people are loudly singing and dancing to. He’s also rude to women at the bar for literally no reason and the bartenders seem to fear him. FEAR HIM.
This place is so cozy and fun. You walk in and Seinfeld and Friends is playing, and the walls are lined with famous movie trinkets and posters. Very cool vibe and really unique drinks like Grinch Punch.
A fun bar and drag bingo! We walked in here by chance and ended having a really fun time!
Awesome pop culture 90s themed bar. Nice selection of beer with a happy hour on assorted drinks. Cozy spot that’s good for meeting a friend and catching a game. I’ll be back
Best spot in the UES! Right when you walk in there’s a beautiful display of VHS tapes. When you sit down your served popcorn and the bartender was so sweet. Would recommend if you haven’t been already
I have been here 3 times. All three times the service has been rude. Waiting time varies from ok to slow for a drink. Decent atmosphere that defies ues norms. Despite being right around the corner, I won’t be going back. Nobodys Darling was a much better moniker.
Best bar in the neighborhood, great vibes, great events, great staff.
At first we had a lovely experience coming for trivia where the man running the bar went out of his way to make room for us and make us feel welcomed. However, the waitress came to take our drink order and we all ordered sodas as we are all sober. She rudely yelled its a 2 drink minimum to which my friend said, okay is that only for alcoholic drinks or do our sodas count to which she YELLED rudely I mean no but because were not busy I guess thats okay,. We wouldve kindly left if we were not following their drink rules. She then asked for a card and my friend while grabbing her card asked why it was needed to which she YELLED AGAIN YOURE SODAS ARENT FREE and we were like yes we are aware we have to pay for the sodas? and she yelled at us again some other nonsense. We revoked our order and left because we were all like damn this girl just ruined our day and made us so uncomfortable. We were sad to leave the KIND man who helped us but the waitress was genuinely so mean we were so uncomfortable. Sad because we live across the street and were looking forward to coming here. If youre sober this isnt a great place to come sadly:(
Casual bar with good energy. Live music on select nights. Young crowd when I went.
Super nostalgic and fun bar on the upper side! Great choice!
I used to love this bar but a horribly rude bartender on (taylor swift night??) chose to turn off all the music mid song and was flipping off everyone and being rude to whoever asked about it. Awful honestly
Such a fun and new bar on the UES. The nostalgic decor is incredible wish iconic throwback movies playing. Darragh is the best! Go support this new bar :)
Very homey 80s themed dive bar in UES. The walls are covered with old school toys and plastered with pictures from old movies, albums, characters/famous people. The music is great too! The venue does not serve food but does provide free popcorn. You are welcomed to bring in food from other places! Not super noisy that you can actually hear each other or enjoy a date. There are also arcade games and board games available in the back (battleship, connect 4, cards, uno, cards against humanity). Staff was friendly and seem to remember their guests!3 beers/hard seltzer came out $27 (including tip).
Only food is popcorn, but oddly, I often crave it.Live offerings -- stage is outstanding.Atmosphere -- the nostalgia is totally Gen X; love it, incl. baseball trading cards I knew so well in mens bathroom ceiling.Beware their trivia: its world-championship, expert-level ... not for your average hobbyist.Bar conversations have always been lively, respectful and rewarding.Love this place.
The two stars are for the bartender who was working when we came in to the bar at around 4pm yesterday. the other woman who came in slightly later did not deserve another star. first of all was the second bartender mocking mine and my friends accents to our faces (we are both from london and our other friend is from new york) and at first i thought it was funny and told her she did a great impression until she rolled her eyes at us and walked away. we had a total of maybe 7 drinks each (three of us, half cocktails half shots) and as ive been to the city three times now and my friend lives here, we knew we would be tipping as much as we could seeing as it was a great atmosphere and good service (from the other bartender.) we took our bill and told the second bartender that would all be paying by debit card, split evenly amongst us all. our bill on debit/cash was $291, and if we had paid using credit card it wouldve been $299. she didnt tell us how much we would be paying each, even though we calculated it would be $97 evenly split. she then held her hands out for our phones/cards to pay and came back and gave us our receipts. she then said to my friend (who is a new yorker) that “in america its actually customary that you tip 20%” which 1. is incorrect. and 2. there was no need to be so patronising and demanding of a tip seeing as we were already going to tip 20% of the bill but because of her attitude throughout the night we decided we wouldn’t after that comment. as we were writing our top amounts onto the bill and realised one of us had paid $97, one $97.71 and one $99.71, meaning that she had overcharged two of us (no matter how much by it doesn’t matter when we obviously paid debit not credit) and as soon as we were going to say something after realising she had walked away into the bathroom. if you want to come here for excellent service, dont. if you want to come here for karaoke night, trivia or otherwise i would say do it but bare in mind the problems with staff.
Came here for trivia twice and the first time they charged us an extra $12 for a drink we never ordered. We let the bartender know and he told us “we ordered the drinks.” We tried going one more time and the same thing happened. Drinks appeared on our receipt that we never ordered. Brought it up to them and they said I dont know what you ordered, it looked like 6 drinks and they refused to change the bill. Will not be returning here for trivia or any other time, both bartenders are extremely rude and dont care about their customers.
Good times 🎤👩🎤🎶🔥
Great place on the UES. Drinks are great and it’s a nice space. Definitely a fun bar to stop in for a drink!
Love the nostalgia of the place but it was a bit boring of a spot even on a Friday.
Drinks too strong, would return
Great bar and friendly staff. Love the different cocktail specials and Free streetfighter and Ms Pacman
Great place with affordable, fun cocktails and a dance floor! What more can you ask for?
Dont know about the food but drinks and service is on point
Its a nice vibe was cool watching a movie with free popcorn and can bring in any food you want.
Great drinks and free pop corn! Great neighborhood bar
Went here for a Taylor Swift listening party…literally the only reason why I went. And the bartender kept skipping over the songs that the the establishment MARKETED they would be playing. Refused to share his name with our group, extremely rude. I’ve come to this place a few times since I live in UES but i’ll never return.
I really wanted to like this place because the decor is cute, the music is good, and it has fun vibes and a good crowd. However, both times we’ve gone to check it out the bartender added extra drinks on our tabs and became irate when we mentioned it. The first time we figured it was a mistake (no big deal, happens sometimes) and approached to kindly ask them to remove the extra drinks when we noticed it on the receipt. Instead of apologizing and fixing the mistake, the bartender insisted we were wrong and had in fact ordered those drinks. We didn’t so we again said it was wrong and he got really angry and walked away - he refused to remove the drinks from the tab so we just left since we’d already paid and didn’t want him to escalate further. A few weeks later we decided to try again, thinking it was a one-off, but the same exact thing happened; extra drinks were added on our tab, we approached the bartender to correct the mistake and he got incredibly angry with us. He even said “I don’t know if they’re yours, but it’s not that much money, just pay it!” I don’t get why they don’t keep better track of their tabs or at least admit their mistakes rather than blowing up at customers. I’m also curious if he would’ve responded the same way if we were large men like him instead of women - it felt like bullying. We won’t be back.
Bartender Pia is an absolute delight! New favorite neighborhood spot.
It saddens me to write this review. I loved coming to Biddys and then, the same owners opened Somebodys Darling which I was so excited for! The bars have a very cozy feeling. Unfortunately, my friends and I had an experience that have made me not want to return. A group of 6-7 of us came here after work for some drinks. We were all ordering multiple rounds of alcoholic drinks except for one friend, who was ordering sodas because they are on medication that doesnt allow them to drink alcohol. Because of this, the bartender was giving us serious attitude. He was short with us, made rude remarks, and while he was refilling every tables popcorn bowl, he refused to refill ours and actually took the bowl away completely. I understand that these bars only serve alcohol and rely on the money to make a profit, however, we were all drinking multiple rounds of alcoholic beverages except for one, and we always were going to tip extra for the person who was having a soda. This made us really uncomfortable. Im not sure if it had to do with our group being majority POC. Unfortunately, the same bartender also works at Biddys and did the same thing with us there (except this time, everyone was drinking alcohol). These bars have loyal followers, but it seems if you arent regulars or if youve somehow gotten on this one bartenders bad side, you cant have a fun experience. Im really disappointed because its such a fun spot! But I dont feel welcomed anymore.
Friendly and fun bar, great happy hour.
Absolutely Love this place!! From the people who work here to the people who visit! Such a solid crowd! Music is spot on and the drinks are brilliant! Also as a personal side note - a wonderful Guinness in here! 🍻🍹
This place screams Millennial from the clientele to the music but I’m not complaining
Fun place to hang with friends ! Great vibe here!
Ms. Pac Man, Street Fighter for free. Not the regular size arcade game size, but hey free! And yes just those two on 11/12/22.Board games at every table. Busy busy on a Sat night at 9pm. TVs showing A Bugs Life, Lion King, etc.$12 cocktails. 90% of peeps were 30 and under. Now I have to go back to all show my kids a picture of what a pay phone looks like. 😆
Best bar in the area! It’s not a rowdy spot like Stumble Inn, but I’ve never come here and not had a good time
Great new neighborhood addition. Attentive bar staff and fun popcorn/games/movies playing in the background. Felt like a cozy neighborhood pub with ‘90’s sleepover vibes
Came here on a Saturday afternoon, and was glad I did! Clad in 90s Era memorabilia, this surprisingly spacious bar was a lot of fun to be in and the staff were very pleasant. They even played lizzie Mcguire on the TV the whole time I was there! Cocktails were delicious, I tried their adult caprisun which tastes just like orange Hi-C and their peanut butter cup martini, which was dangerously good. Complimentary popcorn is also a very nice added touch. Would gladly come back to this place in a heart beat.
Fun new spot, they’ve got board games n stuff, not bad mixed shot deals, $7-8 drafts, the inside is a bit of a nostalgia trip
Great bar, great reasonable drinks and a fabulous crowd. What else could you possibly want in a neighborhood bar. Plus free popcorn.10/10
Already my favorite spot on the UES!! This is quickly becoming my go-to. Must stop by!!
Gun place. Love the vintage toys around.
Love this spot.
Great service from Alissa
Free popcorn is all I need to hear
Great vibes
Perfect spot in the UES!
Amazing idea for design!
