Neo performed this night and this was my 1st time in there. Definitely a vibe but its not kid friendly. Cocktails r cheap but straight up is expensive. I stayed u til 4am
Good spot for a team building exercise here. We were a group of 12.Games were nostalgic, music was fun, space was cozy .... but so not expect top notch cocktails.Otherwise fun all round experience
Super cool, vibrant & different lounge/club with a slide to express yourself down into the fun (I found this extremely dope). On the main floor there is a bar and the club, down is the game level with massive space to entertain yourself with the arcade games, mini bowling section, jenga or lounging plus this is a great place to watch sports or events. I went on a Saturday night and of course the place was packed with good music and good vibes, I enjoyed myself with my husband while there yet in my opinion I think we would have had more fun & enjoy better all the games if we came with our own crew, definitely this is the spot to come with a group of friends.
Had a great time. Randy was a top tier bartender that was super attentive to myself and all of my friends. Would go back just because of the customer service he provided. If you’re ever at slate pay him a visit in the downstairs bar area.
Super fun spot! I came here to celebrate Halloween with friends and had a great time. There’s 2 floors, each had their own DJ/ bars. If you don’t feel like taking the stairs, you could use the slide to get down to the lower level where they had a bunch of games to play. Really nice place to party, the only thing I didn’t like was security being “hands on” and physically moving people out of the way while trying to get through crowd. Overall, we had a good time and I would go back to see how it is when it’s not a holiday event.
I went there for my birthday, and it was okay. It took us a long time to get waited on at our table, and the food was alright. My favorite was the chicken tenders. Also, I wish the dance floor was open to all instead of being closed off upstairs because I came mainly to dance. The DJ was cool, though.
If you’re looking for a great night out in NYC, Slate is the place to go. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, the food was good. Courtney is absolutely amazing, her big beautiful smile is so infectious and Jose was doing his thing with the drinks they were delicious. All around great time was had everytime I’ve been. Keep up the great work.MEL
We went on a (rainy) Tuesday night so consider this is not indicative of them at their busiest. There are 2 private bar areas right off the lobby with private doors available. If it wasnt for the lobby floor being slippery from the noreaster, there is a slide going from the lobby to the basement. There is a private area in the basement as well. There are distinct areas for sitting, games, an arcade and the bar. The 1 server came to us very quickly and our food came out quick. Innovative sauces for the chicken strips with more of an unannounced salad than picked veggie garnish, the fry basket was GIGANTIC and perfectly golden brown. The standout was the (perfectly cooked medium) sliders on GARLIC KNOTS! Some may not consider this a restaurant but I would go back for the food next time I am in the city.
First time visiting Slate, and it was fantastic! We celebrated my partner’s 30th birthday with a group of 30, and Joe and his team made it an unforgettable experience. Joe was incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process, ensuring that my partner was completely surprised. We chose their fantastic package deal, which included two hours of unlimited drinks. The venue spans three lively floors, and the vibe was incredible—great atmosphere, a top-notch DJ, and the food was excellent! I cant recommend this place enough. 🌟 Definitely ask for JOE!
This “Gaming Club” is cool in all the little activities it has to offer. I didn’t get a chance to eat any food because it was too packed and couldn’t find a server. This place a tad expensive, drinks are above $17+ for the most basic mixes. The giant games you play are $2 per player. I only visited the ground floor and bottom floor, the bottom floor has NO cell phone service for AT&T users. My friends with T-Mobile and Verizon had some depending location. I really wanted to go bowling but there was way too many people waiting. I feel like if you want to play any games it’s better to come during the day time and leave the club scene for the night life. They have “free” coat check, which is very convenient. They have different type of music playing in each floor. SUPER LOUD! DJ’s are great!
My team and I did a team building at slate and we had an awesome time here! There is so many different things to do and a whole bar just for us! There is an upstairs bar and a downstairs Bar where the games are at.. I had the most fun at the mini bowling definitely coming back to this place!!
My company hosted a private event here. Loved the space - there was a lot to do! Karaoke, bowling, video games, dancing, pool, ping pong, full bar. Servers were excellent. Place was very clean! Would recommend for private events.
Decent ambiance. Played basketball arcade where it says you win “100 tickets if you beat the high score.” I beat the high score and asked the host Anna if that means anything. She said no. I asked if we could get a free hour ($20) on the pool table. She said I was reaching way too much at this point. It’s an arcade bar and doesn’t offer anything besides that. Disappointed at the service and Anna’s snobby attitude.
WOW!!! This was such a fun bar and a great place to go with a group of friends or date night. You can get in by taking the slide down or you can take the stairs. They have so many games to play from pool to bowling to basketball. The music was great too as well as the drinks.I cannot wait to come back here!
$20 Cover+1 Giant Foosball+1 Slide+1 LightsGames downstairs were fun but kinda ruined by people spilling their drinks everywhere. I get it though.Come earlier to deal with less messCome later if youre looking to get messed up haha
I’ve been coming here since 2018, and it’s always been one of my favorite spots for nightlife and hangouts. The game room downstairs is super fun, and the music upstairs is also amazing!
Great atmosphere. Went on a weekend for my birthday. There is a wait line that goes around the building but the place is worth the wait. Lots to do once you’re in. There is a coat check, which I loved. The first floor has a live DJ and dancers and there is a tube slide that takes you to the games on the ground floor. Great weekend spot!
Knicks fan t.v. watch oarty was crazy , they got things to enhance your sports experience. Extraordinary
Doorman has a power trip complex. I was running to meet a friend after a Broadway rehearsal to watch the PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE. I did not bring my ID to a presidential debate after finishing a rehearsal. I don’t think that’s uncommon as I don’t even drink. He refused to accept a photo copy of my ID or Passport and wouldn’t let me in. I was going to watch a DEBATE. I was not going to party. We are all busy and ppl don’t drink anymore. Just a power trip moment. I do not understand. Not a great venue.
Super packed dance floor. Good music. Cool performers. A bit of a line to use the games or bowling. Definitely make reservations with a booth to skip the lines.
Feel like going on the slide is like a right of passage. Vibes were great and DJ played pop music; great place for dancing.
Slate New York is a fashionable adult playroom with food and beverages. They have a cloakroom and additional areas to accommodate special engagements as well as live entertainment. We were at this facility for a private event. Nevertheless, all staff were cordial and friendly. The atmosphere was just stunning with all types of fun and games in the downstairs area. We were absolutely enamored by the décor and illumination.
I Had such an amazing time at Slates. The energy was amazing, bartender/serves was fast, Dj was good and very diverse. There was a security name Drizzy who was very professional and stayed on his job.I didn’t get to try the food because the kitchen closed at 11 but the over all experience was amazing.Definitely a great space for birthday celebrations/Large groups.
One of my favorite Clubs in NYC!! There are 2 floors, upstairs have a DJ and downstairs have a bunch of games like billiards, arcade, foosball, and ping pong (i think). There’s a slide that goes from the 1st floor to the basement which is pretty fun!! Downstairs have more of a chill vibe
Very cool place, great staff. Lots to do other than drinking. Forgot to check out my hat so now I have to go back and get it 🙃
Horrible service. The bar staff ignores you and is rude. Servers cant remember an order to save their lives and the atmosphere is not welcoming at all. Way over priced. Avoid this place and go somewhere else!
Neo performed that night and that was my 1st time there it was a Ba Last 🥳🤯stayed in there until 4am. Not one let down
The company I work for rented this venue for a couple of hours. The beer and wine were a part of the package. I do wish there were more wine options but we had a fabulous time! I bowled some and had a blast! (A mini version) Other team members played pool, connect four and ping pong. Oh yeah, and some of us brave souls took the slide down!😁
First time here! We celebrated my partners 30th birthday with 30 people at Slate. Joe and the team made this special day very memorable. Joe assisted me throughout the whole process and ensured my partner was surprised. They offer a great package deal, and we opted for the all-inclusive drinks for 2 hours. This place is three floors of fun! I love the atmosphere, and the DJ was great. The food was also excellent!Couldn’t recommend them highly enough!💫Ask for JOE!
I always come to Slate but the manager is the WORST(Black Female)! This lounge also need to hire more servers. The server ( black female as well) was not doing her due diligence when it came to customer service and being on top of putting drinks in the POS. We waited almost 30minutes to and hourfor a drink once we asked for the drink numerous times. At the end, she said she has a lot of tables , her manager asked her to take the table and oh well! If you can walk around doing bottle service then you can tend to your tables. I honestly think this will be my last time coming here because of the experience me and my friends had that night. Our bill came out to 315.00 and at the end the manager told the server to add a service charge to the bill. Something really needs to be done about that manager and the server.Food and music made up for the negligence and the rudeness of the staff for the night.
I had a great experience here especially as a first timer. I didn’t get any food or drink because I had came in after eating else where, but they games was worth the stay.
It was awesome. The djs were on point and the line to get in moved quickly. Cover charge after 11pm. The drinks were a little pricey but the music made up for it. Loved playing the games, but some of them cost extra 5$ for 3 games.
Super fun place to dance! The lower level has tons of games including bowling, pool, and giant connect 4 games. Id definitely go back again.
This place sucked the Service was bad. The waiter didn’t know what was Tupperware and she gave my best friend warm water while everybody else had ice in they cup honestly just save your money they Conversation with each other is more important than their customer service
The DJ is disgusting I asked for a song request and he gave me the worst attitude please change your DJ, our waiter was extremely nice but the DJ definitely needs to learn some manners. Drinks were great and food was great
I loved this place!! I highly recommend to try rice tuna sliders, and an enormous pretzel with 4 different dipping sauces. This place has everything for you to have a great time! Games, Dj-house music, delicious food, amazing staff and crowd! Enjoy!
I did not get the food here as I went strictly for a night of fun. But I have to say the atmosphere was right on point for what we wanted! So cool with the games and a solid area to dance or just relax. So much fun. And the service absolutely deserved 5 stars. The bartenders in places I usually hit focus on ladies for drinks first where Ive set for long periods of time getting passed over, here the bartenders focused on who got there first and were REALLY quick with the drinks. So the drink lines got cut through very quickly. Very nice bartenders and staff to. Worth the accidental train ride into the city.
My first time here. I liked it. The games, the drinks. Very spacious place. Will come again.
Pay twenty at the door and have a blast dance floor adult slide to second floor live dis super size games. Took a friend for her birthday and there’s also a street vendor with hot food outside Since food service stops around 11
This is definitely a great date night place. The bartender was amazing. Loved the games downstairs and then being able to go upstairs and party.
Thia place has grown vibes for adults on the lower level. Did not have the opportunity to venture the main floor. The event I attended was held on a Sunday. I order Tater tots. The portion was bigger than I expected. The service was great. No complaints..
LOVED THIS PLACE SO MUCH. AMAZING ATMOSPHERE AND THEY HAVE A HUGE SLIDE! ARCADE AND DRINKS ARE $20 BUT GOOD. Would come back thanks.
We got a table the bottle service lady was rude and when I mean rude I mean rude I get it was busy but they took extremely long servicing us ! The place was cool though !
Paid $70 for a VIP private event and the food never came. Waitress was made aware multiple times and I do NOT blame her, it sounds like management is an absolute nightmare. They want to charge you $70 just for you to wait 2+ hours for food that will never arrive. Another person in my party who did get food ONCE, lost an entire TOOTH biting on the nachos. They do have a cool slide you can use to go downstairs so theres that.
The drink prices are insane! $42 for two margaritas?! They charged me for the margaritas and charged me again for the Don Julio that’s in the margaritas! Avoid drinking there and go pregame somewhere else!
Really good when they have swing music! Tons of friendly people and cheap drinks - on the Wednesday swing night. Im not sure how often they have them. Also the chicken waffles are delicious and they have games.
Pretty good club in NYC! Expect a cover charge, but venue is interesting with the slide and games. Music is pretty standard pop/EDM mixes, top floor has surprisingly good AC which makes it better for dancing.
Very helpful staff, kind and with big smiles 😄🎶🎶🎶Music was great and plenty of dance floor to enjoy and have fun. 👣👣👣A very friendly atmosphere 🙏🥃😄
Beautiful club. It was fun music was good. Exciting crowd so people were dancing having a good time! Wasn’t packed at all so there were plenty of places to sit. Don’t remember paying anything on Fridays. Saturday I believe it’s a $20 cover. 21+ age limit. Dress was dressy casual, however there a few people in sneakers. Definitely pregame before coming drinks are not cheap anywhere in Manhattan.
All the points for fun space adult play land vibe. Service and help are an absolute ZERO. Poor attitudes from the hostess, to any help throughout, you are going to wait and wait.We booked a table here for 8 people for my birthday which is the only way to make a reservation and for a group of 8 you are responsible to spend $970 worth of drinks and food and if you don’t quite make it, you will be charged that anyway. My friend waited outside because she was told that a table with our reservation didn’t exist. I went outside to get her and let them know she was with our party and they insisted for ten minutes I was not at a table…. OkOnce finally in unless you get there early be prepared for a line for the fun slide to the lounge and food area downstairs.I like the food actually. Nachos, tuna tartar, sliders, short rib tacos, were all really delicious.Expect to spend a lot. The games are a first come first serve, we really enjoyed the bowling games, only the machine only takes 5’s is cash, there is no way to get change and at least 3 times we waited 20-30 min to get change just to play. You can have classic games like connect four brought to your table which is cute.Crowded. The lounge downstairs if you have a table will be overcome by people in your space and it was shoulder to shoulder most of the time I couldn’t dance really. There was an overcrowded, don’t step on me because there can be a problem vibe for sure. The music downstairs was good with a great mix of hip hop and reggae but the DJ cuts off every song way too soon.Upstairs was the techno spot with a crowd that you cannot permeate. Our waitress in general did her best but slow service. It was fun. I was done and ready to go by midnight lol we stayed till past 1 and while I may show up for a celebration and if you’re looking for a fun adult space try it at least once but be prepared to spend money.
A great blend of adult fun and inner child play all in one. Engaged, bowling, uno, pac man, connect four a slide and liquor, SENSATIONAL
Celebrated a birthday there it was live, crowded and the DJs were on point. Had fun playing the games.
Awesome spot to hang out with friends and have a couple of drinks. They got pool, ping pong, as well as a couple of other things you can do, and a random slide from the upstairs entranceDidn’t end up trying out the food but I’d definitely be back
Food is overpriced. Service was mid. I do not recommend it and will not go back.
It is not a place that I would come to if I wanted to go out for nighttime fun, but I would definitely use it to host conventional events.-------------------------------------In More Details:-------------------------------------I hope you get the general basis of what Im trying to relay. At first glance, the place looks admirable. Still, once you go in it and experience the complete ambiance, you soon realize its as good as an overpriced Dave & Busters with fewer games and less maintenance (In terms of just barely keeping the few things they have functioning; as I use that word heavily). The dancefloor was small, and the drinks were mediocre at best. This is why this place is only practically good for running conventional events (e.g., Meet-Ups, Guess Speakers Conventions, etc.). I would not come here if I was trying to have an overtly good time (more like a pre-session before actually going out). This is a conflicting scenario, as the places setting would have you believe that this is where youll get the climax of your night. Only to be stuck in a mirage, paying a cover fee to get in, drinking mid-drinks at best, and enjoying mid-quality tunes. The place is not worth your money, and I promise you that youll find better places around it to give you a better buck for the money you put in.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Pro:-----------The only time that this place fits the shoes that they established for themselves is during Americas Holidays. Other than that, any primary day within the week (of their operating hours) is a typical run-down place for which I would consider breaking more bread (money) for.Hope this helps.
This is always an enjoyable spot to go to. I had an out of town friend visit. He wasnt in the mood to go out - however, after visiting Slate, he was pleased and glad that he did.As an out of towner, he couldnt help to compare what we have, that they lack in Cali. So if youre reading this, Slate you have an opportunity to franchise your model elsewhere.
Had an arcade down stairs and a dance floor on the main floor. Was a very fun place to be. Literally stayed there for the whole day and was good vibes throughout the night. Drinks were good and so was the food! Great music and fun people. Played a bunch of games downstairs and they even have a the mini bowling alley. It was a good time!
Ended up here cause Bounce (across the street) way closed. Pleasant surprise. Good food, good drinks, but atmosphere is super fun. Theres pool, 🏀 Hoops, mini bowling, and games to play at your table! Definitely recommend if you want a different, chill vibe.
About a year ago in March of 2023, I go in there to celebrate my Birthday Party with 3 of my other friends, and it didnt go as expected once we got there. It was crazy in there, I mean we all go in, and we all had to pay 20 dollars each just to get inside the establishment. Little did I KNOW, I just recently found out a few minutes ago that we had to be there before 10 PM. And before we got in, the line was so long that it reached all the way to 20th and 6th. Thats how long it was. So, while we were in there, it was whack. We go in and had a good time, OK, but when I go to ask a request to one of the DJs on the lower level for a Birthday Shout-out, they refused to do it for me. And we barely got any attention from any females because they were probably with some people that they came with. Then, a little while later, it got a little crowded, and then out of nowhere, some girl had pushed me out the way, so I pushed her back lightly. And then, some guy came out of nowhere charging me, and one of my boys spotted him doing it, so he told me to dip as the bouncers held his back. Then, I wait outside around 1 AM for my boys to come out, and then suddenly, the guy and the girl both saw me outside, and I ran off and stumbled onto the cops standing outside, and I got a ticket cuz of them. But thankfully, the case got dismissed! So yeah, as far as Birthday Parties, it is not a good place to celebrate it. Go someplace else where they will actually follow through with your service requests. Oh, and another thing too, I also emailed them about my Birthday Party celebration for Slate weeks earlier, and they never got back to me not a single time. Though I will say this, that its a good spot to go to dont get me wrong, cuz they play some good music, they got games that you can play, but other than that, its not good for when you want some attention from the ladies and for Birthday Celebrations
Unsatisfied Customer Service. My boyfriend surprised me to a date and surprise me to Slate. We drove from Deer Park To The city. Took us an hour 1 hour and 30 minutes. Prior to the date, my boyfriend called Slate and asked if the gaming side is open today” the woman said”Yes” he also made reservations to the place for 7:30 because this as well is his first. When we reached we were stoped by a security man. He was older black man. He asked “what is the occasion” and we said just “casual hangout” he then explained that the whole gaming side is closed except upstairs. Then we said but we made reservations he said “ there’s no way you made reservations and no one said downstairs is closed” He sounded very aggressive and nonchalant with the situation. On my end, it’s our first time attending Slate, it would’ve been nicer to inform us instead of us belittling us making us seem we should’ve known better. Please work on communication with customers because it would’ve saved a trip if the representative had said they are closed for the night. Overall experience with the aggressive security guard is a 0 for me. Wouldn’t come back!
I recently hosted a Bachelor and Bachelorette party at Slate NY and it was a hit. Joe was extremely accommodating to our groups needs and our server, Chanel, was adored by everyone. I plan to bring another group as soon as I find one!
Omg omg omg omg SLATE you made my night. DJ was the greatest from upstairs to downstairs. Lights impeccable crowd amazing and the staff awesome. Wanna give a shout-out to one of the Bartenders Noelia she is amazing and has awesome customer service. I will recommend this place......oh wait and they free coat check system needs to be maintenance because I put my number and someone elses face popped up.$20cover is worth it to get in.
One of my favorite clubs in New York City. There is never a dull moment. From the assortment of dancers on the main stage and the amazing chaos that comes with it, the downstairs has its own vibe, filled with arcade games, couches, and a mini bowling alley (usually only available for private events) the downstairs is a much calmer scene - just make sure you take the slide to get down there :)
Vibrant club offering a plethora of entertainment, including pool, bowling, connect 4, Jenga, and more. They also got a lot of TVs in there so you can watch the game. The people are cool and like to mingle, and overall vibes are chill.
YESTERDAY MYFRIENDS AND BOYFRIEND WAS ATTACK JUMPED BY A FEW SECURITY VERY AGGRESSIVE STARTED WITH MY BF GOING ON TABLE TO DANCE I PULLED HIM OFF SECURITY AGGRESSIVELY GRABBED HIM & SAID WE HAVE TO LEAVE AND IT JUST WENT FROM SMFHCRAZY HOW TO OWNER ALLOWED IT AND EVEN TO LET STRONG MEN HIT FEMALES SAD DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE RETURNING.
Great time. Good music. Drinks werent as expensive as I thought they would be
It’s like an arcade/playground for adults! They had karaoke, ping pong, connect 4, shuffleboard, and a video game room. It was not that crowded on a Thursday and the crowd was a bit of a mixed bag of people but it was fun with a group of friends.
Everything was a vibe! Definitely coming back, highly recommend. The food was good and I loved the slide lol yes theres a slide! Its an adult arcade. Pull up and have fun!
It was a great place; Be prepared to make a lonngg line to go in. 8/10 experience the drinks are great but i think they should have a variety of music. To play the games is free but again you going to be waiting for a long time.Instagram - bnd_eats
We went yesterday (Sunday) in the late afternoon around 4PM. It was empty and unfortunately the downstairs was closed for a private event but we still had a great time! The Birria Tacos, Nachos and Mediterranean Chicken Skewers were PHENOMENAL! Our bartender was really sweet and it was a great experience. We will 100% be back!
Had an absolute blast tonight. The drinks are tasty, the atmosphere is really fun, and the pizza is fantastic! My girlfriend is gluten intolerant, and so we were really pleased to discover that not only is the crust cauliflower based, but its so delicious that we ordered another one after we demolished the first one.Make this a must-see stop if you want quality night life for quality price.
Do not do vip there are no special tables to accommodate different size groups and its way to expensive to book a table anyway. Not worth the time or money at all!
DO NOT GO HERE. The bouncers are extremely aggressive and completely out of line. Horrible experience for a loved one of mine. THEY ENDED UP WITH A CHIPPED TOOTH FROM BEING THROWN BY THE BOUNCER. This type of treatment is inhumane, unnecessary, and from previous reviews it is obvious that the bouncers are known for this type of behavior. The bouncers should learn how to respect everyone, sober or drunk. The use of unnecessary force is disgusting. It’s unfortunate that this establishment would employ people who behave in such a manner. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else where you will be treated as a PERSON. Charges should be pressed for this type of behavior.
It was ok I havent been there in years so the slide was something new to me. The dj was amazing my homeboy kept her energy up the whole time. The games shouldnt be over a dollar like $3 is a bit crazy. Also the lounge tables are the only ones with uno cards so if you dont have a reservation u have to hope to find a bar stool thats open
Cute and fun bar but 100% pull the drink prices out of their asses. Went with a group of 6 of us. 4 of my friends bought four drinks together and they were reasonably priced. Went I went up with my best friend to get myself and her a drink for her birthday, we were charged the same amount our friends were for 4 drinks, when we got two drinks that were the same as one of our friends who had the same exact drink for less than $15. And the drinks weren’t even good! Also, 3 shots of tequila for $42 bucks? And $20 to play foosball? Insanity. Even for Manhattan. It’s a cute arcade bar not a ritzy lounge. Get over yourselves. Won’t be going back.
The atmosphere is next level and they have a great selection of food the Korean bbq cauliflower bites are #1
It is a great place for birthday parties and going out in a group of 4-8 people. Few games are free. They have a little complex system of describing what’s free and what’s charged. But bowling if charged for $5 per person for sure. Except that pool table is $20. They charge for arcade games as well but all of it is worth. If you enter before 10 entry is free. Gaming and food zone basement floor is open till 12:30 and then dance floor starts getting lit. So it’s a great combo to eat, drink, play games and dance.
Pre pandemic I loved this place, its slowed considerably since but go have a good time with a few friends. They have games for your entertainment and of course a couple of pool tables. Also, happy hour drinks are a plus.
Came here for a holiday party, the whole venue was bought out. Pretty cool place! Golf wasnt really working that well, but everything else was pretty good.
Great place, good drinks. Good food, we held our 50th HS reunion here.whst an amazing evening.
Fun place for an adult birthday party! Slide into games, skee ball, bowling and great music. The food was great and staff very attentive. Had a blast!!!!!
Starts off slow but turns into a rave after 2am. Had a lot of fun once we were told to go to the main floor after being downstairs. We had a good time next to the DJ and loved the arcade games downstairs. The food was okay but overall we danced the night away on the main floor. Lots of fun board games on the lower level. Be prepared to leave by 3am as the staff turns on the lights early...if you have your coat checked, you will wait in line once all the lights turned on.
This place is terrible, staff is extremely rude they kicked me and my friend out for no apparent reason with zero explanations oh and the downstairs with all the games was already closed at 1am on a Saturday
Nice place on weekends
Place is beautiful. Food and drinks are reasonable and better than most bars. Big place with multiple floors, hence the crowd splits up, leaving less peps on the dance floor, but that’s alright. Only complain, the security, both in and out, they will not let you stand anywhere, especially near the slide or the stairs, even if you just wanna take a quick photo, happened in two different days for us, same story. Which is ridiculous given it’s a beautiful interior, security guys are rude, which is not welcomed as everyone is not a “rude New Yorker”.
Its a nightclub! Cool game room with a bar on the lower level that opens at 4pm, you can use the slide instead of the stairs pretty cool. It has bowling, pool tables, large connect four and jenga, it also has a mini arcade. Main floor nightclub opens at 10pm. Get there before 10 to get in for free and enjoy the games downstairs. After 10pm there is a cover.
We had so much fun. Theres 2 floors, different music playing on both floors. Theres a slide you can go down. They have pool tables, basketball and so much more. Drinks were great. The atmosphere was amazing
Awesome place to be a big kid without kids around. Play giant Unos, pool, connect 4, jinga or just chill, have a drink get some finger foods and just chill.
The food is very bland. Especially the chicken. The atmosphere is awesome. They have the large jenga, uno and connect four. The music is r&b/hip hop. Nice place for after work spot.
Definitely a really cool spot! They have a club area and a slide to go down to the lower level where there’s a bar and games. I would recommend making a table reservation if you’re a party. The downside was that half of the lower level with certain games was closed off because of a party happening later that night. The games were closed off even though that party hadn’t arrived yet. I would go back again
So much fun! Lots of throw backs to early 2000s plus some good Caribbean vibes, reggaetón and Of course bad bunny!
Came here on my birthday🥳. Although to get a table is crazy expensive $300+ per table and you must order a bottle that can barley get a group of 5, 1 shot. Still very much amazing and fun ! I enjoyed every min of it !! WOULD RECOMMEND!!! they also have a slide which is awesome and gaming tables 🫶🏽🥳🥳🥳 will come here again !!
Had my engagement party there and they made the whole experience seamless! The food was great and the staff was super helpful and friendly!! Everyone had a great time and we played games all night!! Slate is definitely on my recommendations list, youll have the best time so GO!
Dj Anthony Vera was everything and more!!! Didn’t eat or have much drinks but danced all night.
Joe is absolutely amazing here!! We had a group of 14 girls one was a bride to be. Joe SAVED our night and gave our bride the best night we could ask for!!! It was the best club in NYC and we could not have asked for a better night! We can’t thank the staff enough for being amazing and allowing us to live our best night! Thank you Slate and THANK YOU JOE!!❤️
Slate is an entertainment haven, providing a multitude of activities to suit diverse preferences. From karaoke and bowling to video games, dancing, pool, and ping pong, theres something for everyone. With a fully stocked bar, pulsating music, and dynamic lighting that sets the mood for dancing, its a comprehensive venue that guarantees a fun and diverse experience.
My experience here was horrible. It’s advertised to have a variety of games in the lower level but the selection is poor. The foozeball tables are missing the ball so you can’t play them. The only enjoyable games are the bowling and pool table and they are hogged by only a group of people and the time is not regulated. The drinks are horrible, I couldn’t even finish mine and it was overpriced at $20 for a small “margarita” made with the worst tequila they have. The only highlight this place has is the slide.
Its was a slight issues with the reservation but Slate accommodations was great I had a great birthday celebration bash and music was nice.
Dress code required! You must have a collar shirt on (MEN)Encountering a doorman who harbors such a love for control can be a deeply unpleasant experience. It creates an unwelcoming atmosphere and undermines the very purpose of a doormans role, which should be to assist and make guests feel comfortable. It is my hope that this establishment takes note of such behavior and addresses it promptly to ensure a more positive experience for future visitors.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. My boyfriend and I were trying to go for date night, the security guard was extremely rude and disrespectful! As we were trying to enter we were carded he had the scanner and didn’t even scan the IDs he said we weren’t allowed in because we weren’t of a certain dress code (we were dressed casually but up to par) we walked in he was making snippy comments about what we had on and at this point we didn’t want to go here anymore so we asked for our IDs back and he then says we can’t get them back. He then reaches behind the counter and gets his taser then asks us to leave. He presses the taser so we can go out of the establishment I asked for managers no one came, I called the place multiple times to try to speak to someone and NO ONE ANSWERED but we couldn’t just leave our identification with some complete stranger with all of our personal information. OVERALL WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD BE CAREFUL the staff is clearly not properly trained on how to deal with people.
My friend picked this place for her birthday because of the slide and arcade downstairs. The night we went, they charged the full $20 cover, and didnt disclose that the slide and entire lower floor (where the arcade is) was closed. Security was super intense and rude as well. They told us the slide and arcade would open at 1am, so we hung around the club section to wait--music was mediocre, drinks were very overpriced yet average. (I bartend and expected it to be pricey, but $16 for a well tequila soda is a little much). Once it got close to 1am, we found out the slide and arcade would actually be closed all night, and that they had lied to us. We tried to see if they would make an exception for the birthday girl, but instead of just saying no and apologizing they were extremely rude and aggressive to her. We would not have paid such a high cover, spent so much money, or put up with such rude staff if wed had all the information. But hey, coat check is free and everyone working coat check seemed nice. So I guess thats something?
I’ve been to Slate a couple times and had a good time. But today, 01/06/2024, it’s a snow day in NYC, it’s super cold, and I was wearing my UGG boots (exploring the city during the day) and the security guy at the door said UGG boots are not allowed because of a dress code. Like REALLY? I’m felling so humiliated that I couldn’t join the bar because of my boots during a snow storm. THOSE RULES ARE RIDICULOUS
Such a fun place with lots to do and good music!
Sam sucks! Hes the guy over booking events. I tried booking a corporate event at this place the last 4 days and he has been completely unresponsive via phone and email. Super disappointing, but oh well we will take our money somewhere else. I wonder how much money this place has missed out on because of this guy, but I guess they are busy enough it doesnt matter. I dont know, but doing bad business is never a good look.
It’s a very nice and spacious club. I love the downstairs with all the games and arcade. The only downside, bartenders tend to charge different price for the same drink. You pay 20$ for a baybreeze at one of their bars and the other will charge 16$. That’s not right. They need to talk to their staff about it.
This place is really funky, its a good find by my husband who booked us some tickets for the superbowl.Good food, drinks and atmosphere. Really busy but to be expected on the occasion!I loved the different levels, slide, game rooms - was a really good experience.
The slide is the coolest attraction and it last for about 5 seconds. Everything is pay to play so he ready spend money. For those who love games and great food, you will have a more fun time at Coexist GameHouse in midtown. Thank me later.
I can imagine my experience being totally different on a weekend night when it’s packed with people, but ended up going to Slate for a mid week comedy event. The vibe was great, helpful staff, and food was descent. I’d highly recommend going to Slate on an off peak night if you really want to experience the establishment. Otherwise on a weekend, your likely opt’ing in for overcrowding, over stimulation and lines. We had a whole pool table to our selves (2people) and even got to play other games. I would certainly go back on the right evening.
Bar was very busy but such a fun place
Fun place. Unfortunately Ive been here twice for large events so its always been hot, crowded and the picking food is average.
Been there in early 2020(before COVID-19),and totally loved it.
I havent clubbed in a while but i enjoyed myself. Drink are on point ... Bottle service was amazing . sitting in VIP you really feel VIPish ..lol
They close down stairs when its not busy the staff said . Me and friends went for the games . But was soon told to move up to the club section . And they charged a fee in the entrance so we just decided to stay there all night .
I was here for my company’s event. It was cool and engaging. The food and drinks were good. There was this shrimp they put out, delicious. I would not recommend that slide however, I’m only 5’2 and I got banged up coming down.
Food is awesome, electrifying ambience, dance party and if you disco lover this place is for you, if you are newyorker or if you are visiting in NY great place to visit for one evening with your friends, loved ones or family member.
Came all the way from California and enjoyed myself. Melissa was the best. She helped us out. Even when it got busy for the night rush she was still around when we needed her . The slide is A1 when you wanna live like a kid.. the drinks after helped of you get what I mean. If you want a nice spot to enjoy the games and talk with good . Music this is the place to go
I went there on Valentines day straight after work with my girl for a surprise 🌹 date and from the start i knew it would be a great night .. we arrived around 530pm that night loved how welcoming the front desk lady and security were to us . Of course we entered going down the slide into the chill area played some games the food we had some birria tacos 🌮 to die for will most definitely recommend to all not just couples friends and family as well can enjoy
Adult fun and nightclub in one. Great music and drinks are pretty good. About $20 cover on the weekends depending on the time so arrive early. There is usually a line to get in but it goes fast. Security is tight so dont bring extra stuff with you. Keep it cute and simple
I went there on Monday to play some games. It was not crowded, there are quite a few games (table tennis, pool, bowling, basketball) and generally priced ok. Atmosphere is not particularly inspiring but I had a good time. Perfect for an easy beginning of the week.
Awful drinks, wrong food order, $20 per round of pool(what?). “Complimentary” coat check but only if you’re paying for an event? Trash. Go to Barcade. Even Olive Garden is better.
Charged me 100$ for 1 drink what a rip off and disrespectful place no way coming back here keep the change bums.
This was such a fun place to visit! We stopped in for a cocktail and enjoyed the free games that were out on the tables, along with the long gold foosball table. We absolutely went down the slide to get down to the main area of the building. Music was great, and the staff was very friendly.
Prices for drinks are ridiculous (80 dollars for a bucket of beers & a drink). The staff is not helpful at all when asking for help to get games. Things are messy even if you get there super early. It makes no sense that you pay $20/hr (flat fee, cannot prorate) for fussball or pingpong.... Impossible to play a game without waiting for super long other than jenga or tic tac toe (still had to wait for jenga but finally were able to play).
This was such a great time!!! Dont wear nice shoes though and if youre picky this might not be the place for you. Drinks go all over the place lol but music is great, high energy, live dancers, strong drinks and overall nice crowd. Also coat check available at no fee.
When there with a few friends and had a great time. Didn’t get anything to drink and eat but we had great time dancing. Came in a good night when all the music was late 90s and early 2000s top 20s hits. Stayed dancing until 4.
This place is awesome. It offers a lot of fun games to play while having drinks with friends. Its almost like a Chuck E Cheese for adults. It gets a little crowded but they offer a lot of areas for bottle service. There are 2 floors that each have a DJ. The music was absolutely fantastic. The basement has a bar with games and the main floor is a bar with a big dance floor, like a club. The dancers were pretty bad and the guys on stilts with lights on them were even worse. The dance floor was very crowded but my friends and I had a great night. The line outside was really long. Its best to have a table (which have minimums) or be on a guest list so you can skip the line.
Attended a sponsored party and had so much fun. The drinks and food were also good.
Horrible service! Dont believe the hype on the website. Arcade consists of 2 games, crazy prices and check-in staff is rude. Not NYC rude literally rude. Ordered 2 tickets to superbowl viewing party paid $150 and sat me next to the windows that were letting in a constant stream of 28 degree air. I had to ware my coat the entire time. Not to mention it took 20 to 30 minutes each time we ordered drinks. Not once did the manager come to see how we were doing. I usually dont complain because I know the struggle of staff, but this was one of the worst experiences Ive had at a high end club. And we couldnt even go to the other level. Such a disappointment. I would have gave a good review but we had to pay a 30 % Gratuity along arrival before service even started. I understand taking care of your wait staff but when you put a 30% gratuity before service, your service is guaranteed to be bottom of the barrel. Go some where else dont spend money here.
The line was long bit seemed to move pretty quickly.I dont like that you have to go on line to purchase your tickets,ND theres an up charge with taxes. The bouncers were rude as hell. The Dj started off good, but then he started mixing all over the place.I love the concept of having games for folks to play, bit they are really outdated and need to be replaced. Needless to say we did not stay long at all.
Very cool place and ambience to have fun with friends and have some drinks. Super recommended.
Fun space for friends with an awesome respective and responsive staff. Theres a game area in the basement so theres just about any and every way to be entertained for the night. I would recommend for parties with a group of friend or a couples date. The dance floor was fun on both floors with the main one being upstairs. They had a mix of pop and electronic music but threw the occasional, hip hop, reggae, reggaeton, socca, and throwbacks here and there. Good to kill a night but you gotta pay at least 20 to get in but if you do you can at least enjoy the slide everyone talks about at your own discretion 😎
Huge Dance-floor + good music + good crowd + tons of games = Fun filled night! I discovered this Place pretty late but I am glad that I ultimately did! This Place is split up into different levels. Level 1 (basement) is a really chill bar-like place with good music. It has shuffleboard, football, pool and table tennis! Its a good hangout place for friends and couples. All of the games are paid but at a very reasonable price. There is a good seating area as well. Level 2 is where the magic happens. It has a huge dance floor with VIP tables. The crowd here falls in the hotter bracket with all ages rocking the dance-floor. The drinks are reasonable prices (around $14) and are well made. There is no cover charge. Table reservations start at $325. I have heard that the finger food at this Place is also good but I have never tried it.I take away one star because like many other NY clubs, Slate doesnt offer a table minimum option (only bottle service). Also, the lights at the dance floor are extremely bright which kind of takes away the feel of a nightclub!
Had an ok time mostly, but something I find unacceptable - I tried to go down the slide after the time it closed which I didn’t realize. The lady at the front, a short, Hispanic woman, grabbed my arm very hard and wouldn’t let go, even though I was complying and walking away from the slide, I had to get her to look me in the eye so I could tell her “hey, I am doing what you’re telling me to do. You don’t have to drag me around.” Just an insane way to treat someone for trying to go down a slide that was open 5 minutes before. Next time try using your words like we all learned in kindergarten instead of resorting to aggression. Really hope she gets fired because I wasn’t the only one she was mistreating.
When I got there their was a private party going on so I did not get to experience much of the venue but I did get to see some of the venue which was OK ppl was playing table games like fools ball and a few ppl was at the upstairs bar I didnt purchase any food so I cant comment on that I didnt pay to walk around on the top floor either staff was great and knowledgeable and gave good information
A 2 Story Club, basement is lit and active with arcade games and then the 1st floor main dance floor is a vybe. Defiantly a great place to celebrate a birthday or something.
If zero stars was an option this place deserves it. ALL staff members were very rude. The coat check-in was disorganized and understaffed. The bathroom was no where near clean enough even if upheld to basic porter potty standards. The DJ hired for the night was awful and made my ears bleed. The staff working security was constantly shining flashlights into peoples eyes for no reason and made everyone feel very uncomfortable. The second I walked in I instantly regretted going there at all.
We agreed to spend $75/person for a 5 person group when we entered. After buying 9 drinks per person, I asked the bartender what our tab was, and he said it was only at $200 or $40/person.We bought 3 more drinks for a total of 12. The tab was now $460 or $90 more than we agreed to spend, and somehow the last 3 drinks “cost” us $260. They lied about much people had to pay and took advantage of us.
Slate is a fantastic bar in NYC. You get a dance floor on the first floor and go downstairs youll find yourself in an arcade like bar and the music is always good.
Clean establishment, top notch security, video games but a bit of a wait for the games. Fast service, staff is friendly & very attentive to detail. Its better to reserve a table than wait outside. Music is great not just one genre. Over-all its the place to go to but only thing is parking, make sure if you park on the same strip as the lounge you read the parking signs. Remember the sign on top trumps all signs. I parked in 5th Ave between 19th street and 20th street.
It is a great venue for adults who still like to have fun. I enjoyed the Skee Ball. They have a slide to get to the lower level. I opted for the stairs. I had a yummy drink. I was also undefeated in Connect Four. The DJ was great. Ill be back.
I had an awesome time at this night club! I came with a party of 9 for my birthday this past Friday (11/2). They brought us to our seating area and the bottles fairly quickly. The employees were great and the music was awesome. (There was modern pop and hip-hop, latin pop, and a few oldies were also played.) The drinks are $12, not too expensive for a club in Manhattan.
Cover $20Vodka cran $21Bud light $8Really good place for the price, especially in Midtown. Lower floor is all couches and games if you need a slower pace. Upstairs is a great dance floor with good music.
Great bar, great vibes. Makes for a very enjoyable night.
I went to slate with my friends the night of February 5th and it was an experience to keep me away forever. First the bartender tried to make me feel bad because I was waiting to tip him till after we finished ordering our drinks (didn’t go back to him all night). It’s very loud and very crowded. The coat checkers had an attitude and was very rude. If I want to play games I honestly don’t know how to do that because it was so disorganized and they were not helpful. The worker who worked the bathroom that night dropped my friends drink (they aren’t cheap $16 per drink) and never got her another one. He said he would and he didn’t they treat u like ur to drunk to function when that is not the case laughing and joking as if dropping a girls drink is funny.I remember vividly I was walking down the steps she was screaming and I said I’m just trying to look for my friend she said she didn’t care and pushed me. In a crowded place with people drinking you would think they’d be understanding when you lose you friend. Then my friend don’t get the text for her coat (coat check) she went upstairs to make sure it wasn’t a problem they said it shouldn’t be because she put her number in and of course it ended up being a problem and they couldn’t find her coat. (Eventually found it)Lastly I would’ve liked to know they were kicking my friend out instead they said she needs air and didn’t let her back in. I appreciate the waters to help her sober up but the communication that she was getting kicked out was t given until she tried to go back in. All in all I would never go back there again.Go there at your own risk.
PROS: Theres 2 floors. Downstairs has a whole bunch of games (pool, giant connect 4, arcade games) along with a few lounge areas, a bar & enough space for a dancefloor. Free coat check. The music downstairs was so much fun! Wasnt a fan of the DJ upstairs, it was mostly house music and beats, but its because of the DJ that was playing that night. This place is super fun & has a space for any vibe youre looking for. Whether its chill, games or dance!CONS: Drinks are a bit pricey. The line outside to get in & then the line to wait for coat check. If you get there before 10, you wont wait in line long but any time after is at least 25 min wait. THE PROCESS TO GET YOUR COAT BACK IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Everyone had to put in their phone number on a tablet which would send you a text with a digital ticket number. However, not everyone would get a text and the attendants didnt confirm to see if you received one. At the end of the night, we waited in line for 30 mins to get our jackets back. 2/4 of us had a text, if you didnt get one they would find your jacket with the last 4 digits of your phone number. HOWEVER, one of the tablets wasnt working no matter how many times you put in your phone number! They had NO solution to fix this!! I took it upon myself to grab another tablet, the attendant said no and I was like absolutely not, Im putting my number in this because they apparently were unable to do their job and the other tablet wasnt working. That was the only way I was able to get the correct ticket number. Luckily when you put in your phone number at the beginning of the night, it also takes a picture of you so you know its your jacket. People were on top of each other, swarming the desk, the attendants didnt know what to do if your phone number wasnt working. Security kept yelling at everyone to form a line but no one was listening. The entire experience was a disaster and sobered me up so fast.I love this place, Ive been here a few times but every time theres an issue with coat check. If you could not bring a coat, I would highly suggest it to save you the awful experience. We werent locals so we needed jackets. I would def return, just during the summer.
I attended The Way Parties Used To Be in September 2024. I had a ball. Venue is spacious, and the music was wonderful. Good Times😊👍
Its great as a night club, but kitchen gets closed by 11 if you are ever wondering of going late. Great dance floor and music, great crowd, get the usual drinks a d you will be happy. The best part is the slide that you can take from first floor to ground floor and you will feel like a kid again. They also got games room in the side if you are not in dancing. Overall, one of the better nightclubs in NY
I came here Friday night and one of the security guards shoved into me, almost knocking me over. He then proceeded to grab me by the arm, turn me around and yell at me as if I was the one who hit into him. I am 5’1 and this man was at least 6’4. There was no way I could physically muster enough strength to even remotely knock him over. He yelled at me and told me I needed to relax and go home because I was drunk. Mind you, I didn’t have a single drink because I had gotten there less than 20 minutes prior. Three witnesses were standing behind me and agreed that he aggressively shoved into me first. There’s now a bruise on my arm from where he grabbed me. There was no reason for him to grab me, especially when he was the one who had hit into me. I wouldn’t recommend any women coming here as the security guards are aggressive and have some sort of power trip. Why is the person that is paid to keep me safe leaving marks on my arm, especially when I was sober and non threatening to a man twice my size. If this man felt physically threatened by a 5’1 petite woman to the point where he grabbed her, then you guys need to hire someone that’s more qualified for the job. Embarrassing.
Kitchen was closed by 10 pm when I got there kn a Monday night but was good feel had fun and played games and shot pool. Loved the slide to get in.
This place will double charge you if youre in a group. My son and I went to meet a bunch of people. My server put my sons order in both my check and his check, unbeknownst to either of us. Neither of us expected the server to double charge us. I only realized that days later. We called them to ask for a refund and they said they couldnt find the charge even though we have them all the details: the name on the reservation, date and time, the exact order, and the two separate credit cards used. They said they would get back to us within a week but they never did. Im not going back to this place for sure. If you go there with a large party, make sure you check with everyone in your party what theyre being charged with. Dont assume this bar knows how to keep track of everyones tab, and dont assume they will only charge each item once.
No sitting only standing unless u have bottle service or chair hustle . I’m not a big fan of this place . However it’s a younger crowd wish they seemed 2 enjoyed themselves and get drunk’s.
The atmosphere of the place is alright. Very fun games are available. Ping pong and pool need to be paid for on the top floor by the hour. They have other games that are available for free like a giant connect 4 and giant Jenga. The drinks are a bit pricey. If you want to sit at a table you need to pay for the area.
The bartender added their own tip to the check even though I did not put one down. This is theft and I cannot imagine how long its been going without being noticed.
Pretty fun place to go. Went there pretty early in the night and had no cover on a Saturday night. Drinks are pretty expensive but good. Fun games and big dance floor too.
I do not know what everyone is raving about. The place is cute and could be fun, but there are few games. It is almost impossible to play anything as the games are always taken by groups. There IS a cover fee, we paid $20 each and $32 for two small drinks. If you like rap/hip-hop/early 2000s music you will be disappointed. The music was exceptionally bad (old club music that no one can or wants to dance to). Since the drinks are so overpriced you cannot even get drunk to try and have some sort of fun. This place is the epitome of overrated.
They force you to pay to use their pool tables or ping pong tables, and when you change your mind seconds after paying they dont give you your money back. Service and food was terrible and I wouldnt recommend spending your time and money here. Very disappointed.
Lots of fun games, delicious food, and great drinks. Prices definitely add up fast so be prepared for a pricey evening, but youll enjoy it. Doesnt hurt to call ahead and find out if there are large groups with reservations on the night you want to go, as they get first priority on games and can even block out entire sections of activities. Would definitely like to go again!
Its not a bad place. Open space for dancing and music selection is good. The lights while the music plays are awesome but the drink price is high which is to be expected and a bartender demanded a tip and sported a attitude all night after my non english speaking friend made a mistake. We left to a better spot after that.
The place is alright, I thought the downstairs with hip hop was better than upstairs club area. What left a sour taste in my mouth was that I got a Hennessey on the rocks at the bar and when the bill came I saw that they charged me $3 for the ice. When I brought it to the attention of the bartender she said, but you asked for the rocks. Absolutely highway robbery.
The aesthetic of the place is really nice: a slide going downstairs, karaoke, bowling, pool, arcade area, a cool setup on the first floor. The reason I gave it 3 stars is cause the djs are so bad, worst djs so far. If you like listening to just house music then its for you. Also, the staff are rude. They dont even ask, they just assume your in the wrong and you have to clarify for yourself and they dont even apologize for being wrong.
The amusements, music, people and slide here is great! It’s always a vibe. Tickets cost $20 cash or you can buy them online. The lines here can get long and the dress code is no flip flops/sandals and no shorts for men.
I love this place ! I have been coming for years however I came out to celebrated on three separate occasions this month. Once to hang out with friends from out of town, my Birthday and my friend birthday I don’t know if they have a new manager or what however she’s a Black woman with a nasty attitude you can’t ask her a question without her being rude. I’m watching her interact with non black clientele and she’s laughing and smiling. It’s sad that I won’t be patronizing your establishment anymore because I really enjoy myself every time I hang out in the city. However I don’t deserve to be treated Ill where I spend my money.
Really fun, great DJ when I went...only thing is drinks cost like $36
Fun games and fantastic lights
Tons to do and lots of fun. I am looking forward to another opportunity to go.
I do like the idea of this establishment. However, tonight the bouncer/security guard are extremely aggressive and rude as have previous people have mentioned. They should do better to ensure safety and not have this type of hostile environment towards people. DO BETTER!!!!!!
Went.to a halloween event there.it was packed.2 floors.downstairs have alot of games.large jenga,ping pong,pool to name a few.cant.wait.to.go back to eat instead of drink
The place is huge.Majority of the dancing space is on the main floor. The lower level has games and an arcade. Its easy to make friends here. Especially with a drink or two in you.Fun Crowd. Musics blasting. Bring a good friend and theres no way you wont have a great time!
Slate is always a good time. I a central location that makes it easy to pick your next location. Also just very fun, drinks, pink pong, bowling, skew ball, football, board games, adult slides. What more could you ask for?? Lol
COAT CHECK IS FREE!!! I dont think you understand how significant this concept is. No more worrying about what you want to wear because you can just put your coat in for free and yeah I mean normally coat check is like what $5 in other places which might not seem like much but when you tryna throw back drinks and have tip money, youll realize that little $2-5 will come in handy. Oh yeah and they have a slide.
Had a great time here for my birthday. Love the atmosphere, it’s so much space and activities to have a great date night. A the drinks are great.
I gave this place 2 stars because the bouncers upstairs and the “dress code” at slate. When we got there, all of us were dressed like one would on a regular Saturday to go drink and play some games for my birthday. The bouncers rudely stopped my bf and and my friend because his khaki shorts and her basic black leggings saying they werent acceptable because of slates dress code.Meanwhile the girl who had literally just walked out a minute before we walked in had ripped jeans and a baseball cap on but they kept saying “no active wear allowed”.Fast forward 30 minutes later, we lived close by so they changed, we’re downstairs getting drinks and playing games , and everyone else is in sneakers, baseball caps, flannels, leggings, etc. super casual wear.Just so you’re all aware in advance, their “dress code” that isn’t on their website by the way, their website just says “dress to impress”…to play arcade games. The bouncers said to us:• no active wear• no summer sandals• no shorts (for men at least, I don’t know what they’d say for women)Everything else was good. Games. Drinks. Music.Good for a 1 time experience but those dudes upstairs ruined the vibe. Not good customer service.
Func arcade bar. good for corporate events and after work drinks and games. great happy hour and fun escape. incredible nachos. go on the weekends and it gets packed as any great bar would.
I asked the bartender if she had any lager and was told that no, they only have these, pointing to Corona, Heineken, Budweiser and something else.I had to explicitly ask for a glass, but was given a plastic cup instead. The prices were just as much as proper NYC bars though. There were self-serve beer taps that werent working. There was a comedy show organised, with people bowling on the other side of the window, making hearing difficult.Everything about this place seemed like nobody really cared that much.
Nice place to go with friends to play games and have a drink.
The drinks and food were okay. The service was good. The atmosphere seemed chill. They had a good selection of games from ping pong and pool to skeet ball and bowling. Expect to pay for most games though.
Nice place with two area.Downstairs can be access with stairs or slide! You will find latino music and games like - basketball, pacman, bowling and others.Upstairs is more DJ/Eletronic and is also way more crowded after certain hour. Both has bars.Place to save your bag/belongs for free!Pay $20 to get in.
Treat your inner child and take the slide!Really fun and beautiful spot. They could have used an additional bartender when things got crowded but there’s PLENTY to do besides drink.
Very relaxed and casual atmosphere here. Great set up regarding seating - especially for groups. A plus - the slide you can take downstairs to the bar, ha! The last time I was here we made friends with the bartenders who were really friendly and good with suggestions on what to order.
My fiancé and her two friends went here last Saturday and the bouncer advised them that the club was closed and they had to come back at 7. They then returned at 7 and the bouncer try to tell them they were to drunk to enter. Mind you they were a little loud outside taking pictures but two of them didn’t even drink yet. After 10 mins a manager finally let them in and the place was packed. The fact they lied and said they were closed is ridiculous. The bouncers here are trash.
Worst experience and rude bouncers. No respect or ready to speak with you. Better to find the best in NY.
Such a horrible club. Worst club in NYC. Highly do not recommend going to. Everything is bad about this club especially the security guards. They think they have so much power even though they are making minimum wage and are retards.
Fun spot to hang with friends and great spot for a first date. Open for games only early in the day and then top floor opens up as a lounge/night club in the late evening. Drinks are super expensive, so make sure to pregame.
Came here with some co-workers after work were able to get in pretty easily! I had no idea this place had a slide!!! This was really surprising and definitely a perk, experience-wise. In addition to that, there are also pool tables, shuffle board, small bowling lanes, and other games (eg: connect four). The music played here is pretty good. The only thing is that the drinks are pretty pricey... for 1 shot it was $12 - and unfortunately these tasted a little watered down.... Despite this, we had a great time and would recommend others to check this place out!
I had so much fun. Its 20 dollars to get in and the dj is amazing. Unfortunately the play area downstairs was closed. I have no idea why.. I hope the reopen it. They play area has human sized games like connect four.
While we were having a good time at this place my purse disappeared. The second I found out I asked the staff for help which was unsuccessful. I left my number for them to contact me if it turns out. Next day I stopped by to check as I couldn’t get a hold of them because no one picks up the phone(so if you calling Slate for any reason don’t bother they won’t pick up). That is where I had a terrible experience with John at the door, he said it’s not their problem if something wasn’t checked in coat check. And he refused to assist me at all. The place is ok, just make sure not to bring anything valuable there cause if it’s missing they will be very much indifferent towards it.Meet John, after he cursed me out he also flipped me.
The place has a great atmosphere!! 2 floors, a LOT of games just got to wait ur turn. The bouncers were not that great. Wrongly accused my friend of bumping into a lady and the bouncers kicked him out in the snow with no jacket after he checked it in the cost check and didnt let him explain anything. We understood that they wanted him to leave but he had to text us while we where still there to get his coat and meet him outside. When we asked what happen they said it was no of our concern. Not sure if we will go back or not even tho while we were there it was a nice spot!
Musics from various genres were played. Everyone in the club was enjoying the music and having fun. A club for every grown-up.
We had the company year end party here. The service is great and the food is delicious. And everyone had fun.
Not going to lie, I thought it was so weird when the bouncers tried to take my birthday bag with cat toys. It seemed like they were just hunting on things they can confiscate. Alcohol made sense but a cat harness that’s just weird
Love this place, it’s extremely fun, the music was a bit harsh, and there werent many tables to sit on. But the rest was awesome, the food was really tasty and it has a good size. The bar has big board games and arcade type.Service: 5 starts, very kindFood: 5 starts, really tastyPrices: 5 starts, very according to the service offeredDrinks: 5 starts, they are really strongEnvironment: 5 stars, entertaining, clean and friendly.Others: 4.
This place is great for a date night,or simply hanging out with friends. There are two floors, top floor has a dance floor, the lower level is more chill with plenty of games to keep everyone entertained. Ordering was quick and easy. Great venue for all types.
Rude service and security guards are very aggressive to new customers.
I don’t even know where to start. If I could give negative stars, I would. The people in charge of this place don’t know how to treat people with respect, let alone someone who brought in SO much money by getting a package and bringing a large party who were buying drinks and shots all night. They don’t care about you, they just care about getting their $$ and then kick you and your party out when one of their “regulars” decides to get mad and hate out of pure jealously.Highly disappointed is an understatement. I thought this place had so much potential and was excited to celebrate here and have a good time but I was proven wrong. I will never set foot in this place ever again until there is new, RESPECTFUL, FAIR, & CARING management.I’d rather spend my HALF A GRAND somewhere else & the twenty plus people I brought who spent their hard working money all night will gladly do so as well. Such a shame!
This place has the worst bouncers ever. This place has really RACIST bouncers We tried to talk to them and just because a bouncer was having a bad day he kicked us out or the only explanation was that he’s racist. He said that our friend was intoxicated however that friend of ours doesn’t even drink or anything. Really rude people chucking out people just because their place was full? Really unprofessional.
This is a beautiful facility. Large and still cozy. The staff was very quick and efficient. They also didnt gouge us on drink prices, like a lot Manhattan nightclubs so eagerly do. I love their after work events, because the crowd is more mature, and you can turn up and still be home by midnight, lol.
I worked with Joe to reserve a table for my sister’s birthday and he was amazingly helpful! Very responsive and welcoming!
Had a very poor experience at this place all of my friend was out celebrating a friends birthday paid a lot of money in this place and the minute an altercation happened between my party and another where my friend was pushed we immediately got kicked out while the other party got to stay and enjoyed the rest of the night which isn’t fair especially if the security didn’t see what went on the other party should have gotten kicked out regardless of what was going on or if they are regulars or if they know someone in the club and we weren’t in the regular area we paid for bottle service and didnt receive any decent treatment at all we weren’t even able to get our coats we had to be escorted out in the cold and wait for our coats to come outside. I’m just really highly disappointed with my experience here
Trendy place - interesting concept with upper deck as typical club, while lower ground more as a hangout / bar area with billiard, bowling and other games!
