Great place to stop in for lunch. It was nice and quiet, with a great view. I highly recommend the risotto, it was the best I’ve ever had. The staff were very friendly also!
Extremely mediocre. Do not get the lobster ravioli. It does not really taste like lobster, they give very little lobster in each ravioli, and also don’t give very many ravioli. The portion size is smaller compared to other dishes. The truffle pizza was also not very worth the price in my opinion. It has a strong truffle flavor, I’ll give it that, but. The cheese was solid and not very melted, and there wasn’t much to the pizza except the solid cheese and truffle flavor. Gnocchi was pretty good, nothing special though. I liked the truffle ravioli and other pizza. Atmosphere is really lovely, great lighting and decor, especially on second floor. Service is good too! Overall would not come back because the food is not worth the price.
We went this evening on Christmas Eve so it wasn’t completely full. The food arrived quickly and was hot. Our server was attentive and professional. We ordered the margharita pizza, lobster ravioli, lobster tangilioni, and mushroom ravioli. Everything started wonderful! Great service, amazing food, great atmosphere, Will definitely return.
Really cool place with its location upstairs. Also, the staff was great helping us get a spot on New years Eve. The pizza my gf and I had were great little light on the toppings but still super good. Its probably just me being a chunk, haha👍
I had a wonderful dining experience at Serafina in Manhattan after the Met—the food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was impeccable. Everything ran smoothly, and it was clear the team worked together seamlessly to ensure a great evening. A special mention goes to Levi, the manager, whose attentiveness and warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable.
Cute place close to the Metropolitan Art museum. Good food, especially the beef Carpaccio and the Meatballs. Delicious sauce. I did not get to try the pizza, but I liked this place enough that Ill be back and try the pizza next time Im in the upper East side!
Very nice atmosphere! Went here for lunch after visiting one of the museums on 5th Ave. There was no wait at the time we went, but it filled up quickly! I would recommend the Spaghetti Pomodori e Basilico! Had a great time and will come back again!
I came here with my friend for her birthday and we had an amazing time. All the food was fresh and service was amazing. Our server was Lucy and she was the only one covering a big area of people on the terrace. She is an amazing waitress. Definitely coming back
The pizza is good, and its an institution. Its conveniently located by a number of museums in Central Park. Reservations are recommended if youre coming during busy hours. Unfortunately with a new crop of pizzerias coming up, like Keste, this pizza doesnt stand out as much as it used to. If you are a fan of thin cracker style crust, youll enjoy. Dont forget to ask for the chili oil as well. Service was great.
The food was great but small portions and the seating is very tight. There was also a chilly draft but also I think this is reasonable prices for the area and its super close to the MET. I wouldnt recommend this place for large groups of people. The lemon pasta and cocktail were amazing.
Cute and cozy. Located on the second floor this location is rather small but comfortable. The service was fast and friendly with a nice menu to choose from. We tried their mozzarella avocado and tomato salad and pasta in pink vodka sauce accompanied by a love martini. Food was good.
Really good Italian food. Fettuccine was outstanding and the spinach and ricotta ravioli was top notch. Highly recommend.
Delicious food! White wine was delicious. They like to turn tables fast, not a place if you don’t want to feel rushed! They wanted to take my plate when I had my fork still in my hand! Oh well it was delicious and cute atmosphere!
After a long day of walking the pizza and tiramisu here put me to ease. I was fully content when stepping out of this place
I’ve been here two times and it’s an amazing cuisine, the service is amazing. Personnel make sure you have a good time and meal by making you feel home.
I was born and raised in Italy. The food from this restaurant sent me back to Italy 🤩🤩. Everything I had was authentic Italian. The meatballs were excellent (especially the marinara sauce omg), pizza was just as good as the one in the pizzeria across my house in Italy…tiramisú was divine. If that wasn’t enough, service was excellent. They treated us with courtesy and everyone was very efficient.Do yourself a favor and go eat at this location!!!🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Nice location, cozy environment and very friendly staff. But food was too salty compared to other Italian restaurants in New York. They offer gluten free options.
Incredible lunch at Serafina today. Had a Caesar salad and Regina pizza. Hands down one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Highly recommend!
Food was very good, however on a hot NYC summer day the AC was weak to poor. We were waiting on the other side of the glass door for our table to be ready & sweating simply by standing there. Once on the other side of the door there was a lot of air, but hardly cold. Dining upstairs was not an option (we would have been seated sooner) as it was way too hot! For a lovely restaurant with good food and service, please come into the 21st century with your cooling system.
Lovely location with nice overlook on rooftop. Food is great! Service welcoming and fast
Amazing restaurant with delicious food. Our server Connor was incredible!! Very kind, professional and welcoming. Thank you Connor! Highly recommend.
Yummy Italian food. Tiramisu was amaaszxxiinnggggg. Pasta was tasty… However artichoke with burata was not great. Burata was fresh though.
Ambience was amazing, especially to watch a NYC rainstorm pass by on the top floor dining area. Risotto with truffles and the lasagna were super delicious. Ended the meal with a perfect tiramisu!
First time here. It was highly recommended by another mom while we waited to put our name on the waiting list. The food was delicious. The ambience was perfect and comfortable even when every table was occupied. I love the decor of the space as well. Id love to go back and host a gathering there in the future.
You ever get hungry and slam a whole sleeve of soda crackers? I used to do it all the time and it was all I could think of while powering through this pizzas dry, crisp dough. I made the mistake of also ordering the foccacia, which was so dry that when I set my glass of water down at the table it started to evaporate on its own
Excellent service, pizza and salad among the best we had in our three months in the NY area. Superb espresso. Outside seating with a view on the lively people traffic. NY noises come on top complimentary but that is the name of the game in this town.
Easy walking distance from the Met, and very busy for a Tuesday afternoon. Little understaffed, as everywhere is during the pandemic, but our food came out quickly and it was perfect. The wait staff was friendly and you pay at the table with a hand-held card machine. I had the DOC Margherita pizza and my husband had the cacio e pepe. Both were phenomenal.
Great friendly staff with really good service. Loved the pizza we had. We will definitely go back to try many of the amazing pizza options.Second floor seating was a little cold, but very nice ambiance. I would recommend upstairs seating.
Great food! My issue was the slow, bad and rude service. I wouldnt recommend anyone on coming here. I sat on the terrace and there was no AC, also at no point in time the waiter offered me a refill of water or beer. The desert cake was extremely dry.
Cute Italian place near Central Park. We went after our trip to the Metropolitan Museum. The portion size is decent. Definitely order a dish per person and even an appetizer. We ordered the VIP margherita which was good. The Taglioni pasta Al pollo was good too. We werent blown away but liked the service and ambiance. The ingredients also tasted fresh. Its a good go to Italian place to add to our list.
Mediocre and overpriced. Confused how the Serafina chain still survives. So many better Neapolitan style pizzerias in NYC. Service was good tho. Should have listened to the mediocre reviews but needed an outdoor dog friendly place in the area.
Great food, excellent salads...only ventilation is too cold...Hihg recommendation for food.
Food was great, we had a couple different things and my family enjoyed them all. Portions were average, and prices were alright. Staff was friendly but didn’t come by often. The restaurant was beautiful, we were seated near the very top and I loved how everything looked. Overall it was also clean and spacious enough.
The food was fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend this place for lunch if you are passing by. But it is probably not worth planning a trip around.
Spaghetti carbonara was very good. This is a Fancy Dancy Place @$6 for water!!! The only water you can get is that kind. Flat or sparkling water. I asked for non alcoholic beverages and they pointed to two mocktails that were $14 each. I was hoping for soda maybe, but I guess not. Just be warned there are no substitutes!! You get whats on the only. $25 artichoke burrata...no bread, bread would have been nice. I forgot the name of the pasta my son got, but it was Bowtie pasta limoncello with shrimp.
Such a cute and intimate indoor Italian spot. You’ll catch a seat next to the oven stove fire with low candle lit environment. Food is unique and delicious.
The Crostini di Sofia and Tartufo Nero were amazing, I highly recommend! Portion sizes were good, not too small or oversized. The atmosphere is comfortable, and service was efficient and professional.
Worst margarita coctail and tiramisu. Coctails were mostly water. I lovetiramisu and always order it when I have a chanse. That one was one of the worst. No mascarpone, too much sugar. We didnt try anything else
Loved the ambience. I was there for brunch on the weekend, the orange juice is real fresh! I had the Margherita pizza and spicy alla penne vodka. The portion size are good enough for one person. The pizza crust was real thin like a cracker. The food was good, the price are a little on the high- located in uptown. It’s very close to the met. I was seated outdoor, service was a little slow but they were good. I would go for their pizza again!
Great atmosphere, great food and fabulous service. If youre looking for great italian food and those nyc vibes then this is the place to go!
The workers were so fast to get our food and it was delicious and it was so beautiful in here
Love Serafina!! We always have an awesome time. The Mojito is one of the best I have had so far. The pizza delicious!!!
Had the Margherita Pizza delivered for a two-people dinner. It was okay, nothing special. The olives really came through. Delivery was on-time. Two pizzas would definitely have been two much for two people. I personally didnt think it was worth 20+ bucks. Also, they didnt send any cheese or pepper toppings.
An unassuming gem, this restaurant is a personal favorite for its no-frills approach that doesn’t compromise on quality. The service is consistently good, and the food never fails to delight with its great flavors. It’s a refreshing spot where simplicity and excellence meet on a plate.
Very cozy place with excellent food!! Servers are very attentive and positive.
Great food, great warm service full of smiles. We decided to stay on for desserts and had the tiramisu which I find is such a perfect way to end a nice lunch.
It’s a really good Italian place. It has 2 atmospheres on the first level (which is the second floor) a more formal restaurant and in the second level a laid back terrace
The name of if the business says it all: FABULOUS!! Simplicity with an elegant twist for pizza; the Margherita pizza is timeless andClassic. This is a go to favorite for lunch or dinner. If you want to eat inside, you’ll have to go up a flight of stairs and host will seat you. Very popular in the Neighborhood, and very family orientated. Back to the Margherita pizza, I love the olives and basil leaves that seem like embellishments but are so Delish toEat as well, simple yet fabulous! The pizza boxes to go are so cool! ❤️❤️❤️
This is not a pizza joint, its unambiguously an Italian restaurant. Food was way too overpriced and mediocre tasting. We paid over $60 and left hungry. It wasnt actively bad hence 2 stars.
Had really good pizza! crust was thin but supportive and very enjoyable. would go again! it is slightly hard to access, so dont go with someone who has difficulties using stairs. the photo is the cheese pizza after I got full.
The food tasted fantastic and came out pretty quickly. I had the Margarita pizza with added mushrooms. My wife had the spaghetti carbonara. We each enjoyed our meal. Would recommend this establishment.
Nice place with amazing service. Food was delicious as if homemade by grandma.
The decor could be touched up a bit, and the food was decent. I tried the tartare, and it was delicious. I also tried the pizza, but I did not find it particularly tasty. Decent. Dinner does not get busy until around 7, so I would recommend going before then if you do not want to wait. I have a tendency to forget to take the picture before I eat the food, so heres a picture of a half-eaten cheesecake.
The service was super fast. The pizza and pasta tasted great. The dining area in the top floor looks so nice at night!
Went into the city for an early birthday celebration, decided last minute to eat here. Wait was only 15 minutes, cocktails were perfect, pizza (as an appetizer) was fabulous, entrees were amazing, dessert was perfect. Already planning our next trip back!!
Best service in town. As soon we order stuff just appeared immediately. No clue how they do it. Magic! :)
Far more, was expected from this location. The mojitos are good
Nice place to eat not far from Metropolitan Museum. Delicious pizza.
Good Italian restaurant not too far from the MET - great for an after-museum lunch. My partner was still hungry after her cacio e pepe so if youre very hungry go for the pizza!
I found a maggot in my food. I had ordered a pizza and sautéed broccoli. The broccoli was already a bit raw and the pizza was warm rather than hot meaning I had to eat most of it cold. Then as I am one quarter in the broccoli, I began to focus on what I was eating when I noticed a maggot on the broccoli. I was appalled, it was disgusting, and I can’t even begin to imagine if I had eaten maggots before I began to pay attention. All they did was take the side away and take the broccoli off the bill. It was ridiculous and I didn’t even receive an apology. Will never be coming back here and I would encourage someone to check the conditions of the kitchen and food. I posted this on open table but I thought people on google should be able to see this as well.
Serafina 79 in the Upper East Side is a true gem. The Italian food is simply amazing, offering a delightful array of flavors and perfectly cooked dishes. The service is impeccable, with staff who are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The dish choices are extensive and cater to all tastes, ensuring everyone finds something they love. I highly recommend Serafina 79 for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in New York City.
I have to say having been to Italy several times, this is truly Italian style. Delicious, as was the meatballs and marinara sauce.
Food delicious and pizza was enough for two people. Gnocchi was great but not enough sauces but love the grated cheese
Amazing! My 2nd visit here in 5 years. The pizza is awesome, highly recommend.
I took my friend from out of town to Serafina the other night and we had a wonderful time. Immediately upon getting there, the staff was very attentive. The manager, Levi , was so helpful and friendly. Levi made sure we had a great meal from the food to the atmosphere. I had the Cacio e Pepe and it was fabulous. My friend and I are truly looking forward to coming back.
Attentive and prompt service; comfortable ambience. Ordered goat cheese pizza, which did have blobs of goat cheese over a base of mozzarella cheese. Mound of baby arugula in the center, but the other listed ingredients, eggplant and roasted pepper, were little pieces almost geometrically arranged over the 12” pie, but not in any density to really taste and enjoy them, as I was looking forward to.As an out of town visitor to NYC, for the price of that pizza ($27), I was certainly expecting a heartier vegetarian dish being set before me. The steamed broccoli was well prepared and tasty.
Best pizza we ever tasted. They said NY pizza was good. Well it was great. Next time we hit the MET we will be also swing by Serafina.
This restaurant is a good reasonably priced choice near The Met in a neighborhood generally lacking reasonably priced restaurants. It’s up a steep flight of stairs, so not very disabled friendly. But once you’re there, there’s a nice intimate dining room with large windows, letting in lots of light. The service is very good and the food, while not amazing, is also perfectly good.
Inedible food. Highly salted. Service is included which meant in our case that we were ignored. Sad. It used to be delicious
Nice. Good location close to the park and the met.
My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary dinner and we had the most terrible experience there. When the drinks arrived, the server didn’t even know whose was whose drink, I had to switch the drinks for the server. We waited 20 minutes only to get ice cold bread, then when the appetizer showed 30 minutes later I didn’t have a fork to eat it, I had to ask for silverware which I didn’t get until the entree came so my girlfriend and I had to share a fork for our appetizer. The entrees were just ok, not what I expected. I’m not coming again and I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
What an amazing place to eat at on a sunny day! It was such a joy to see the colorful and cheerful decoration of the restaurant. I recommend that you reserve in advance mainly because there’s no waiting area and you will end up having to queue on the narrow staircase leading up to the restaurant (not very comfortable). Luckily, we did have a reservations so we sat down immediately. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick! We were a party of 3 and we shared a margherita pizza (without olives) and we each had our own pasta dish: 2 of us had the black truffle ravioli dish and I had the Paglia E Fieno (fettucini with creamy tomato sauce). The pizza was phenomenal from crust to toppings! The 2 other people with me LOVED their ravioli dish and I also loved my fettucini dish. What I liked about my fettucini dish is that the homemade fettucini itself was really special and the portion was very generous! I ended up not having dinner that day! Highly recommend this place!
Good food and service. Tables are pretty close together.
Walking into this restaurant with my boy, I felt like this place was going to have decent pizza. It seemed cozy and it was crowded. The average customer was of retirement age the time I was in. Makes sense for the upper east side, but I should have clicked in my mind that this restaurant would appeal to boomers and in my experience boomers love restaurants that young people do not care for.Anyway, the waitress was very kind and we got our orders quickly. Another red flag looking back. I ordered a Margherita pizza and it looked like a regular cheese pizza. Worse yet, the diameter was small, meaning it was plausible that it came from a box. 10-15 minutes and this small pizza was ready. Do you see where Im going with this?Me and my boy love going to restaurants and having a new pizza every time. We try to pick places that look good; we do not go for dollar slices. To my dismay, this pizza tasted exactly like a dollar slice. The most flavorful part of it were the olives (who puts whole olives on a Margherita pizza?? There werent even enough whole olives for each slice. And why were the olives all in the center?). The sauce tasted literally like nothing. The cheeses flavor was essence of cheese. I am convinced that this pizza came from the freezer isle of the supermarket. It was a 1/10 by my rating.I know there is no such thing as a dollar slice in New York anymore, but if you calculate the surface area of this and multiply it by the cost of a todays dollar slice, this pizza should have been $5.00 and come with a free soda. Instead, we were robbed of $24 plus tip. Ive had more fabulous pizzas when I was standing on the lunch line in elementary school. While I was not disgusted, I was severely disappointed. This was worse than the pizza I had that one time in Little Italy, and that is saying something. Why do boomers love flavorless food?
Superb. The atmosphere was exactly what my daughters and I needed after a long day of walking. It was charming, quaint, welcoming and warm. The service was great and the food was out of this world.
We very much enjoyed the margherita pizza and the bruschetta.Service is friendly and attentive .The restaurant is quaint.Great location close to the Met and just a few minutes from the Guggenheim.
Dominoes pizza is way betterOur server disappeared and left us sitting there waiting to orderThe dining hall was extremely hot and the manager or owner was two tables over giving an interview that was none of our businessHow they have more than one location is a shock to me
Efficient handling of walk-in diners. Attentive and polite staff. Nice high ceilings in the 3rd floor. Our VIP pizza was thin crusted to our liking with sufficient tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil; however, it wasn’t as tasty. Our food got cold quickly.
Cute little find just a few steps from the Métropolitain Museum.
Service and atmosphere were nice, but the food was very disappointing. 🫣 The quality was far below the location in Westchester County.I ordered the avocado shrimp salad, and it was gross. The shrimps tasted like they were frozen and thrown in super salty boiling water. Leaving basd fishy taste in mouth. The salad had no flavor. My partner ordered spaghetti pomodoro. Such a simple dish was not only overcooked, but the sauce tasted straight out of can, too 😒.Sadly wont return.
Wonderful service, delicious food, delightful atmosphere.
My brother and I were trying to escape the rain and came across this cozy restaurant. There are a lot of stairs and it’s small, but the service was warm and friendly and the food was delicious. I had the bolognese and my brother has the pepperoni pizza. Very delicious.
Stopped for a light lunch and enjoyed great salad and pizza. Good and friendly service
The food was amazing, the tagliolini tartufo nero and tiramisu was to die for. This restaurants aesthetic was absolutely lovely.
Awesome Italian dishes and pizza! The meal and service was excellent! Great spot to go after touring the Met!
Great pizza and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere and honestly had a very good time with my friend. Would definitely come back again
I went there with my family. We needed more space for the strollers, so we tried to move two tables together. But when the waitress came over, she rudely told us we couldnt do that without asking her. We said it was okay, we didnt need the extra tables, just some space for the strollers. But she continued to be very rude, talking and making gestures. We felt unwelcome, and it seemed like there was racism involved because my mom wears a head scarf. We complained to the manager, but they didnt do anything about it
Told 30 minute wait then to our delite 5 minutes later we had a table. We started with a bottle of Gavi di Gavi before enjoying the delicious Crostini di Sofia. We were in the mood for pasta and pizza so we ordered the Tartufo di Nero, Portifino pasta, and Cacio de Pepe then shared. Absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend this multi-level Italian restaurant experience.
The food was good and the service as well even though they very busy that even forgot the wine we asked, we had to eat in a claimed part of the street, obviously the administration of this place wants to attend more people that the staff can handle.
This gem of an eatery was perfect. The food was tasty and well-made. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. The space was airy and relaxing, which was a welcome change from the bustle of the city. I highly recommend Serafinas.
I hope the servers are not racists. I am a young-asian. The server did not give us any the beginning of breads. Also, he kept asking how it is to the next customers but he even did not ask to us anything at all. We had to ask to other servers to get food or check because he completely did not care about us at all.
Lovely food quality and service for a very affordable price given the area its in. The servers were so nice and attentive, and I havent had a tiramisu so good in years.
We recently had a wonderful experience at Serafina! We visited on a Wednesday evening and were seated immediately. The ambience was lovely, as was the staff. We had the burrata and prosciutto appetizer which was incredible - easily some of the best prosciutto Ive ever had! We ordered the gnocchi and steak and potatoes entrees. The gnocchi was perfectly tender and the sauce was delicious. The steak was initially overcooked, but the staff corrected that quickly and the properly prepared cut was tender and delicious. I also had an amazing espresso martini here that will be hard to match taste-wise! Overall I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for reasonably priced Italian food near Central Park.
Serafina fabulous pizza delivers an unforgettable Italian culinary experience. From the warm ambiance to the authentic flavors, every aspect of this restaurant is top-notch. Impeccable service, mouthwatering dishes, and a truly enjoyable atmosphere make it a must-try for Italian food enthusiasts.
It is very unlikely of me to to write any reviews ever, but the experience I had this past Thursday at this restaurant was just abhorrent. It just hurts me to have to revisit the memory but when a restaurant is just this blatantly racist, I cannot help but feel the need to make sure that this is put out there. The older white man who was waiting our table made it clear that he was not interested in serving my table. There was a couple sitting right next to my table and not only did they constantly stare at my family and myself while we were eating, but the waiter did not care to visit our table once after he took our order. This was, needles to say, in stark contrast with the way he served other tables, making us actually question whether we were doing anything wrong the entire time we were there. I was there with my mom and sister, as they are here to visit me for graduation, and I am just so displeased and very upset that I had to make my family go through that with me when all we wanted to have was a pleasant dinner. I cannot speak for others’ experiences, but mine was one that was greatly distressful.
Absolutely horrible experience at this restaurant. Booked a table for 7 a week in advance for my family coming to visit from France. We get to the restaurant 5mn before our reservation and are told that they have a problem with their reservation system that basically allow people to book tables even if they have no more tables available. The two hostesses were so rude and absolutely not apologetic about it. We asked to speak to the manager who was equally incompetent and very standoffish about the entire situation. They offered no remedy at all and we ended up leaving and having to find another restaurant for 7 people on a Saturday evening. Which, thank god, we did.I need to add that we have been customers of Serafina for 10+ years and we will never set foot at that location ever again.
Incredible pasta, great service, warm atmosphere.
Amazing! Must try the black truffle pasta. Tiramisu in latte were delicious as well.
We had an early dinner after visiting the Met on Mother’s Day. The food, drinks, and service were great. We felt like we were part of the neighborhood!!
Food was very good. The music went well with the ambiance. All in all, decent experience.
Ordered through Seamless dinner including Neapolitana pizza. The pizza arrived was FULL with anchovy and capers, which regardless it’s impossible to eat with that amount!!! Napolitana pizza usually is without any anchovy or capers (search in google, see results) In seamless menu there are no descriptions to the pizza dishes. Called the restaurant and tried to replace the dish with zero luck! The service was painfully poor (both the person answered the phone as well as her manager). We ended up ordering pizza for my kid from a different restaurant! The manager actually explained that it’s on me for not going to their site, searching for description there!
Had lunch a couple of days ago, drinks were good, we ordered the crostini di sofia, the bread was burned, we told our waitress but she didnt cared, also ordered cacio pepe which was very plain , had no flavor and a pizza which was good. Service was very slow. We also didnt liked how close the tables were to each other, could not even get upwithout bothering the table next to us, very uncomfortable. I wanted to like this place but sorry to say we will not come back.
Pizza honestly didn’t taste too special (got Margherita pizza), and quite pricey. However, the atmosphere, decor, and the pasta were amazing! Would be a nice place for a date but not a casual family diner by any means.
Bad service from the beginning. After I was seated I ordered a glass of wine and it had to be sent back. The glass was very dirty and the new one was not much better. The food was also disappointing. The lasagna was salty, frankly tasted like it was reheated, and the ravioli was not good either . The staff was unwelcoming on top of everything else, its unfortunate that especially at its price point this place is all hype.
Love it!The shrimp lemon pasta was the best - I highly recommend it.The atmosphere in the restaurant is unique as its on the 2nd floor and has a nice view of the street, and they got a bar and pizza oven Inside.
I recently dined at Serafina (last Sunday) and had a mixed experience. The ambiance was pleasant, and the service was attentive. I ordered the farfalle al limoncello, which was delicious and packed with flavor. However, my friends dish, a spaghetti alle vongole, left much to be desired. When asked about our meals, I mentioned that mine was enjoyable but my friends lacked flavor – it was bland and dry, with an overwhelming taste of garlic and no trace of any sauce. The waiter insisted thats how the dish was meant to be, but based on my previous experiences with this dish at other restaurants, I found it disappointing. It is expected to have a certain amount of sauce; the dish is not completely dry like spaghetti Aglio & Olio. I felt really embarrassed because I recommended this dish to her, based on ones I’ve dad before (I had it last Friday in Mystic, CT and it was incredible). I had recommended it to my friend with high expectations, but unfortunately, it didnt meet them. Overall, while my meal was satisfactory, the inconsistency in quality between dishes was disappointing. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration to improve their offerings.
Wonderful food. Waiter super nice and professional. Terrasse quite nice but noisy at rush hours that’s NYC… price is ok pizza is 23-25$. Pasta same.
Service was fast and courteous and the food was good.
The food is excellent. The service is gracious. The seafood risotto had twice as much seafood as risotto; the sauce was very tasty. But it is accessible only by a stair. You should not book if you have a frail or handicapped person.
Interesting Italian joint, featuring ample seating space inside and outside, elegant dining rooms (on two floors), a diversified but reasonably short menu, and a friendly, diligent and professional service. Good quality-for-price ratio for this side of the Park.
The service was fine. The food was small servings and not worth the price. I ordered Lobster ravioli which was supposed to be in a lobster bisque sauce. There was no Lobster to be found in my ravioli, and the sauce was a tomato sauce. Very disappointing especially at the price. The only thing that I really enjoyed what was the dessert of tiramisu.
I know their name says fabulous pizza, but I’ll definitely recommend trying their pastas. The linguini with clams was amazing, simple yet full in flavor. The spaghetti bolognese was delicious as well. Fast service and the place is nice and cozy. The bread wasn’t anything special hence the four stars.
4.5 starfood- 5 staratmosphere- 5 starservice- 4 starlack of A/C...1 star ( it was July at 3pm)we got the marinara pizza and it was amazing, tasted just like one I had in Rome.so bright and pretty inside.recommend!
Went here after a super long walk in Central Park. At first we were told that the wait is 50 minutes. We were so hungry that we started walking away but within a few minutes, we got a message saying the table was ready. The restaurant looks tiny but they have another floor with ample space. Loved their gnocchi and ravioli. Slightly higher on the expensive side.
Amazing taste!! Great vibes and service! The waitress Lucy- Brazilian is so nice and friendly. We highly recommend!!!
Very nice, cozy restaurant, very friendly staff. The food was quite tasty. Comfort level definite 10.
Great option for decent food at a decent price near the Metropolitan Museum
Convenient to the museums and really great food. Prompt and attentive service. Everything we had was excellent and our party of 8 was very satisfied.
The pizza crust is light and tasty. I think its one of the best that I have every had. Worth a visit if your in the area.
I took my wife on a little date here after attending the Met. The food and service was really good. We ordered penne alla vodka and margarita pizza. I would recommend giving this place a try.
I like this location in the upper east side. Upstairs theres a dining area near the bar. We picked up our order of Margherita. I would definitely come back to eat here. This is the third pizza I tried from Serafina, the pizza is always good. The Chelsea location is nice too, but can get too busy. This location seems a bit more intimate and less of the younger club goers getting dinner before a night out. Id recommend this location for a nice quiet dinner date and good pizza and wine. One of the better tasting pizzas Ive had.
Food was delicious! Authentic Italian, well prepared and good portions. The staff was very courteous and friendly. We sat inside on the second floor which was a very nice atmosphere. Highly recommend, and would definitely go back! Prices are fair.
The Service was subpar, and slow to come with food items. We ordered the Ceasar Salad and the lettuce was stale, the dressing was so light that was hard to detect and the croutons were not good. Then came our two pizzas, the Margherita and the DiVittorio. Oh, my, I have not had this bad of a pizza in a long time. The only relatively good things were our cocktails and Sangria and pricey. We wanted Pizza so much that we ended up at Koronet Pizza two blocks away on Lexington. Great NY Classic and delicious PIZZA!
Great food and stuff were so friendly
Loved all of our dishes, great service and a lovely evening. Gnocchi in Pesto was amazingly creamy and flavorful. The Tagliolini with Parma was so pleasing as well...will come back for sure.
There is no elevator! The view on the 3rd floor is excellent but be prepared to climb a narrow set of stairs. Since it is narrow, you will have to maneuver the people coming down.Their meatballs are spicy and their gnocchi was fresh and excellent.
Everything was delicious especially the tiramisu desert!! Amazing 😍
A lot of stairs, nice service, yummy pasta, lovely atmosphere.
Order was a home delivery. They forgot to deliver part of the order. Never delivered or apologized or credited my cc with the amount due.
Stopped in for a quick meal and everything was lovely. Great service with good food and drink. We were seated up on the rooftop which was very pretty. For any Bravo fans, they have Ubahs hot sauce pizze to try!
The food was very good. I got the gnocci with cherry tomato sauce and my boys got pizza. My grievance is no salad or bread with the meal unless you want to get it ala carte and at $22 for a smallish portion it should come with it. I recommend the pizza if you want to have more to eat.
I recently attempted to dine in at the Madison Ave location and unfortunately left prior to eating due to the uncleanliness of the establishment. Every glass, plate, and piece of cutlery we had received was dirty. We had to ask to have a water glass replaced three times and each time it was still dirty. I asked to have a dirty plate replaced and the server just grabbed one from another table and set the dirty plate down in its place. I’ve never experienced such carelessness and wouldn’t return.
Turns out I forgot what a plate of real Italian pasta tasted like!! So good! The cooking is top notch and the service is impeccable. The menu prices are not cheap though and on top of them the establishment charges a 10% COVID recovery fee. I look at it this way - to the extent we can go to restaurants AT ALL, we must support them and help them stay around and help them return NYC to its previous glory. My party ordered penne vodka, shrimp farfale, steak, and a Margherita pizza for kids. Everything was delicious. The staff is great and the public is nice.
This cozy restaurant features mostly italian fare dished out in elegant presentations. I recommend arriving early, otherwise you might have to wait. Luckily service is pretty quick.
I wish I could give 0 stars. Their treatment of customers is horrendous. We ate outside and had our 4 month old baby in his stroller next to us at the table. We went inside to ask if they had a changing table in the bathroom. The manager told us no, to change our baby in the sink. Who says that to a parent let alone a paying customer?? So we put two chairs together from another table and changed our baby on there. I would like to give a slightly better review for the food but when you treat your customers like that, its not even about the food anymore..
Visited with my wife and daughter......had a kale, pear salad, some focaccia to start which was delicious.....had pizza and gnocchi which was amazing.... super great service..... would definitely recommend.
Small hidden gem with magnificent food, fantastic service and great quirky wall decorations on the curving stairs up to the second floor. Service was great too. Plan ahead depending on the time since there will likely be some wait without a reservation.
Not very good. The bruschetta came on 3 slivers of rock hard toast, and the ravioli and pizza didnt taste great either. Both came out at room temperature which ruined any chance it had of being good.
Me and my family went for my birthday last sat, ohr experience was great, food was delicious, the only thing we didn’t liked that much was the pizza we ordered as an entry it didn’t had as much cheese as we wanted it to have but I’m sure it’s all about preference, the only thing we didn’t liked was how the tables were so next to each other I understand is a busy restaurant and they need as many tables as they can, but that was the only little annoying part because the people next to us were talking and we couldn’t really enjoy our conversation because it felt like we were sitting with them, besides that service was great there was only one server on the floor and she did amazing, food came quick too!
Danna is back in NYC after a long pandemic break. Viva NYC! And doing a frigid February tour of “Central Park Region” - aka upper east and upper west. So was nice to stop in and sit outside in the heated sidewalk enclosure for lunch but this place felt a little heavy on commercial and light on quality. Ordered a heart of palm salad - add shrimp - and small cheese pizza. So full disclosure - can’t speak to their main dishes. But for a $30 salad it was underwhelming and we won’t be headed back. Oh - and only half the heaters worked outside on a 29 deg day.
Stopped at Serafina on a Sunday afternoon - they were able to accommodate us fairly quickly. For appetizers ordered:Meatballs 4/10 - wouldn’t order again, the sauce was very bland and the meatballs were dryBrussels Sprouts 5/10 - lots of Brussels sprouts, however we asked the waitress if they would be crispy and they weren’tSoup of the day 5/10 - good flavor but it was coldFor main course:Gnocchi 7/10 - the gnocchi itself was good, however the tomato paste lacked flavorTiramisu 9/10 - it was more cake style and liked it a lot more, would order again
Hello!!! Well looking a restaurant for a quick bite in the afternoon while waiting to go to the met, serafina popped up...We sat in the upstairs dinning room. Asked the waitress if I could charge my phone for a few minutes and the answer was no. That is really nice customer service. May be the manager dont let them be accommodating to the guests. We saw the server twice. To pick up the order and to cash out our check. Silverware was dirty. Employees eating in the tables next to us. Food was average. Look at the photos please. No offense to the culinary staff but the ravioles looked from a supermarket box.Simply we not feel home. We eat and left in less than forty mins.See yall soon in our next trip!!!
Staff were both cordial, and extremely efficient. Received remarkable service at dinner which was top notch Italian fare, and wonderful recommendations for wine. Definitely on my list to return.
The caico pépe pasta was amazing and the price was not too high. The service and ambiance was great as well.
This was a very nice place I found just walking around during a day in the city. The food was better than expected and the wait time was nearly nothing. The building itself was beautiful and lovely to sit in. My only complaint was that as one person for lunch with nothing added my meal was still about 25 dollars, but that may just be the prices in NYC.
Fantastic food with great produce and exceptional service
Excellent pizza. The kids serving was huge and my daughter loved it.
Delicious food and cocktails, perfect for lunch/dinner/date nights 👌🏻🍝 Salmon was perfecto!
Early dinner after the MET. overrated and overpriced restaurant... Margarita pizza barely had cheese (tasteless), Bronzino was ok, bruschetta was plain. food served after 25 min. place looks dull (not like the pics previously posted by guests). the waiter was very professional and attentive. i will not return.
Im tempted to give Serafina three stars due to the uneven service we received today, but ultimately the things that they did get right, and the food, both deserve four stars.Upon entering we were immediately seated upstairs. 30-45 minutes later and be place was at full lunch time capacity. Arrive early.Throughout the course of our meal, additional people in my party arrived and our waiter, Vicente (sp), kindly and discreetly allowed my party to move to a larger table to accommodate everyone. My peeps and I went strictly for the pizza but after seeing the pasta dishes being served to diners at surrounding tables, we went with pizza and pasta. The pizza is quite thin, so if youre splitting a pizza with one or two other people, youll need something else to fully satisfy your hunger. The cream sauce that they use is delicious, and Im not even a fan of creamy foods. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and the wait time for our entrees was reasonable. The chocolate cake was ok. I wouldve preferred that they serve it warmer but it served its purpose.Negatives: Our waiter was kind and attentive, but forgot one of our drinks. Also, when they brought a second basket of bread to the table, the employee dumped the old half-eaten bread on top of the fresh bread. That threw everyone for a loop. Finally, its a little frustrating when your waiter brings the check then disappears. Our transaction is 95% complete. I dont want to wait ten minutes for the final five percent.I would return if Im ever in the area again.
Horrible and rude place. They made us wait while others without reservation seemed to get seated. There were plenty of open seats but we were told they were reserved. Then they said wait for 15 to 20 minutes. But caveat was there is no place to wait. So wait on the street. Would never ever go there. Insulting staff.
Horrible. We waited over 50 minutes for 3 pasta dishes! The waiter said they were busy. It was a Saturday night and there were empty tables. They couldnt be that busy. Even if they were I expect a NYc restaurant to be able to keep up. We will never be back.
Great dinner night on the Upper East Side,Thank you guys at Serafina 🤙🏼
The pasta was delicious. They were very nice and made us feel welcome.
I ordered their spicy penne a la vodka. the dish was overall pretty good— it met expectations but didn’t exactly exceed them. the pasta had a great al dente texture and the sauce was creamy and had a slight zest that made it very appetizing. i also ordered their tiramisu which was delightfully creamy and had a rich coffee flavor. it’s not the most outstanding italian place, but i’d overall still recommend trying this place out
Fun, bustling atmosphere! Service excellent, very friendly. Food was amazing, including the burrata appetizer and the wonderful homemade pastas. The Chantilly cream profiteroles are a must for dessert!!
Simply not enough room to sit as many people as they allow in. The tables have to be moved so you can fit in or get up. Service is slow, some wrong items were brought. And the bread never came. I dislike frantic, crowded, noisy atmospheres in expensive restaurants.
Dined in - terrific view of the Upper East Side, gracious hosts and servers who offered to charge our phone, and delicious pizza from one of those brick ovens. Very well priced compared to your average NYC sit-down restaurant!
Uhmazing. Food was gorgeous, we ate upstairs which is really cutely decorated. I used to live in Italy and the food is definitely on par with real Italian cuisine. The Truffle ravioli was SO good. Staff were wonderful, especially our waitress Selena, and the bar girl down stairs (whose name I didnt get but was awesome). If i had more time Id come back!
Excellent food... Much better than I expected from a place that refers to itself as a pizza place. My wife had a sea bass Pinot grigio that was just so good. I had a spaghetti squash primavera vegetarian dish in which I asked him to put the tomato sauce on the side as I dont much care for marinara. The dish was excellent without the marinara sauce and the marinara sauce tasted fine. And of course theres the fun of dining outside when the temperature is in the low 40s. Youre dining in a little hut which is open to outside air as the servers go in and out so that it is ventilated at all times and their heaters above you from the ceiling of the hut keeping you reasonably warm.Welcome to the world of Covid. There was a Covid recovery fee of 10% added to the bill which probably covers the cost of building and maintaining the hut and heating it.
Margherita pizza was very good. Good wine and service. A little tight but cozy.
Was a great find. Food was amazing
The pistachio cake was a 9.5 out of 10 and the staff were very accommodating.
Pizza didnt taste good and it was overpriced. The pasta had multiple hairs in it. Overall, food doesnt taste great and you can get a lot better and more food for the money than this place offers.
Great food at a fair price. Always a good choice for pasta, pizza, or other staple foods.
There isn’t a truffle dish on the planet yummier than the Tagliini Tartufo Nero served at all Serafinas. I love this location for its cozy vibes.
Really incredible food, the pasta with limoncello with Camarores a delicacy and the spectacular lasagna too. The wine they recommended to us was very fresh, the attention was very good.
Very delicious food, very fast service and kind servers, penne Arabiata was very delicious 10/10 would come again
Just ate here. Plate is small, you have to order at least 2 to serve one person. And price is huge high. Flavor is just so so. Not recommended. The water glass is dirty my daughter just saw the print on the glass. There is also a strong bad smell in there. Terrible
Cozy restaurant with romantic evening vibes. Full bar and seasonal menu. Quick service and friendly staff. Would definitely come back again.
A few weeks ago we spent the day at The MET and then walked here. It was our last day in NY and we were looking for a good place for a last meal. This place did not disappoint. It is such a beautiful location. You enter and walk up a curved stairway to the resturant which is on the second floor. We sat near the windows where you can look out into the city.I had this pasta which was recommended by the server as her favourite one. The pasta was so fresh and the flavour sooo delicious (see photo). It was about 20 USD, if I remember correctly. My mom only got a Caesar salad with salmon but she loved it as well. The flavour of the dressing was nice. My dad ordered pizza and my brother got Calzone. The pizza was basic with tomato sauce and cheese, etc. but my dad really loved it.They gave bread to start which was mediocre, wished it could have been warm. And the service was friendly enough. But we still had an amazing experience with the delicious food and view.
Delicious...my friends pizza was great, and I enjoyed a great chicken Paillard that was cooked to perfection, with arugula and tomatoIts definitely not inexpensive. My only complaint was the price of a very good Gavi di Gavi - $59 - which can be had retail for $14 (I found it online while at the restaurant and ordered a case). I understand restaurants make much of their money, but a 400% mark-up.seemed extravagant. The service was outstanding. If I happen to be at Lexington and 79th again, I would definitely go back.
Fungi pizza was very good. Fried Artichoke and burrata was not as expected. The artichoke was cold and tough. Burrata was fine.
Great food! Flexible dress code and great for kids. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, only reason it was four stars was because of the many groups of middle school children yelling and running around.
We were a group of five, with visitors from Maine, sitting at a fabulous corner table on the second floor. For a late lunch, we ordered salads and also burrata with smoked salmon for the table. It was just perfect for the occasion!
I went on Saturday 09/10 around 4:30, the hostess was great the food was relative good our server while not rude was not polite, she never introduced herself, maybe she didn’t like that I had my 2 kids with me and she never said thank you or good bye, someone else took our check also she added 20% gratuity there were only 3 of us, I don’t think she deserved 20 % the service was speedy but she also impeded d at some one from bussing our table and never bothered doing it herself.
There is legit no heat here. The place is brick freezing. People were forced to wear jackets while eating. They also charge a 11.25 fee for covid. And add tax to that. A total joke. They removed it but never mentioned it prior to the meal. So by complaining I look bad. Save your money and do not be hustled.
Tip was charge on the check and when ask why the lady server said, we have to pay the tip because is mandatory in NY. a Tip is not mandatory by LAW, you cant force anyone to pay 20% when service was terrible !!!
The lobster ravioli was phenomenal!
The food was good but the servers all seem slammed. Not sure what the deal was but they seem understaffed. It took nearly 40 mins for our pizza to come out!
I just want to say how bad this is!!!! We come to this restaurant every two weeks. But this time was terrible. I came there 7 min late and they told me i have to wait 10 min this is so obnoxious!! We have waited 20 min at the end. And their food wasn’t even good, I will never come again!!!!!!!
You don’t have to order pizza from serafina. Sometimes I go here and always I thought price are not equal quality of their food. Usually there servers are kind but this time I had to order for delivery. The pizzas i ordered was badly burnt like charcoal. I couldn’t have them at all!! It was not eatable. Extremely over cooked!! Definitely not worth the money. I will add picture. Do not trust good rivew!!
Excellent food. Mushroom Risotto, penne vodka, truffle pizza, and salad were perfect. Kind servers and hosts.
I waited over an hour for my pizza. I waited at least 30 mins before I was served water. I am not sure if it was an off day. In my opinion, it looked like they were giving all their attention to those who appeared to have money. I have a very negative experience and actually walked out after seeing people who came later than me get their food before me.
Very hot no AC working in the restaurant. Food is excellent.
Good Italian pizza on 2nd floor restaurant overlooking Madison Avenue.
Excellent neighborhood pizza. Pleasantly surprised that they were open on Easter morning.
Maybe the best espresso martini in nyc, not strong and very easy to drink. Marghe pizza amazing, very well eaten by our toddler, caccio e peppe so so but were not cheap o parmigiano. Very good experience overall for our Subday lunch in UES
The pizza is fabulous, but there is much more to this place than the pizza. The pasta dishes are delicious, the view is beautiful, and the service is top notch. I would recommend this place to all walks of life—yes even tourist.
We ordered a pasta dish and a salad and they were both OK. Friendly staff and quick service with reasonable price
Great pizza, friendly staff, even good views from the terrace.
Good Italian restaurant, I loved the caprese and the burrata, the risotto was good but it could be better in my opinion, pasta’s also was very delicious and well done
Stumbled upon this place by accident. We had an amazing meal. Pizza for me and salad for my spouse. The service was very good and prices at lunch were very reasonable.
Food was good, but service was poor and drinks were not good. Ordered an old fashioned and it was not made correctly. Food took over an hour to receive once ordered.
Yesterday, I dined at Serafina with my mom and brother. We ordered one quattro frommagi, one quattro stagioni, and one mushroom pizza. The quattro stagioni and mushroom pizza were inedible. The mushrooms had a slimy texture and an intoxicating truffle flavor, and the artichokes tasted like rotten cabbage. The four cheese pizza was the only pizza that was some what decent. However, the crust was extremely bland, and it felt like I was eating an oyster cracker with cheese on top. In addition to the poor quality pizzas, our waitress was apathetic and never bothered to ask us how our food tasted after she brought it to the table. Overall, I am disappointed with my experience at Serafina, and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for an authentic Italian pizza in NYC.
Chicken milanesa and pasta a la vodka!! Thats the perfect combination to share!
Anyone visiting Central Park or Manhattan needs to go here! This is by far the best Italian food I have had in NY. Everything is imported from Italy and is handmade. If you live in NY, or if you’re just stopping by, you need to come and get a bite to eat here.
If you are looking for good, easy, nice atmosphere Italian food, then Serafina is the place to go!From delicious appetizers (I recommend the burrata with prosciutto) to a good wine menu (hard liquor also available) and delicious, authentic pastas (the Paglia & Fieno is my favorite!) and soooo many pizza options, this is a must go to place! This location has an upstairs garden atmosphere as well that is always fun to sit in and is enclosed for comfort. This location is also conveniently located to the Met and not too far from the Guggenheim (walk down Madison Ave and see the shops or down 5th by the park).
I dined in their outdoor seating area, which was kept toasty warm with overhead heaters. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. I had the spaghetti squash stuffed with sauteed vegetables. and would highly recommend! Will definitely return.
