Nice bar , attentive bartenders, food was good. Chicken wings were really spicy but very tasty. I like this bar, I would go back. 🥃🍹🍷🍻🍺🐓🍗🐣

The beer is a little bit expensive. I love the location. I love the atmosphere. The food is good. Good service. Good Irish folks behind the bar. Its a place pub that I will revisit when strolling Manhattan

Not sure where some of the other reviews about the bartenders come from. We were here from Vermont, and this was far and away the best place we visited in the city. Drinks were good, bartender made a point to get peoples names and talk to them like friends. John was awesome. The shepherds pie was also on point!

My go-to bar in midtown. Bartender Jenny is great and friendly and makes great drinks, and so are all of the bartenders. I recommend the jalapeño poppers, my go-to favorites. Jagerbombs are great here too, and the Long Island iced tea. All in all recommend coming here if you’re in the area. Take the A/C or the D/B or the 1 to 59th Columbus Circle, use the Turnstyle market exit, and walk a bit and you’ll find the place.

Nice stop on a blistering day! Draft Guinness and a lighter stout we hadn’t had before-“SMITHWICKS - KILKENNY CO.Its exceptional taste, distinctive colour and purity of ingredients make it unique. Red Ale. 5.0% ABV”Our thirsts were quenched.

Went on a Wednesday around 6pm and it wasn’t too crowded; the waitress was quick with seating our group of 5. Drinks are much smaller than what you’d get from other bars but still they were really well made. Ordered just some “snacks” with the drinks — French fries, mozzarella sticks, and fried calamari. Preparation wasn’t too long, maybe 20-30 mins to get. Very small and cozy (little expensive, that’s the city) but would definitely return. Great spot!

Great bar with good value food. Gabriel and Paul look after you at the bar. Plenty TVs for sports. Good mix of locals and tourists. Worth a visit for lunch. Recommended.

What a fantastic hidden gem pub with fantastic friendly bar staff. Couldnt recommend enough! Also, phenomenal pint of Guinness.

Nice place with a good beer selection, friendly staff and good burgers. They typically have 80’s and early 90’s music playing in the background which is also great.

Hubby needed a nightcap before retiring to our hotel for the night. This was the closest place with draft beer. The whiskey pour was generous. The bartender/owner was friendly and engaging.

Great place to get away from the noise & have a beer &/or a beer. Seemed they were short staffed but the bartender/waiter/ host was a nonstop working machine! Definitely a good vibe stop for locals & tourists

We went in. Had 4 drinks. Checked the card account before we left and we had been charged for 6. The extra 2 rounds were over charged as well. We complained. We were given free drinks (which admits fault!) then asked to leave. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place!

Great pub, was our go to spot for the few days we were in NY, couldnt fault the service by all the staff but esp Paul, lovely friendly true Irish gentleman, he couldnt have been more welcoming 😀 would def recommend. Hopefully go back one day when its not the worst rain in history!!

The business practice here is truly SHADY. The food was fine, the service was fine, but theyre pricing is... dishonest, at best. You may notice the first bill you receive has a much lower dollar-amount than the ensuing bill (to sign and add gratuity). So, as an example, the first bill may say $95, but the next one will say $100 after you give them your card, with no reason or explanation for the increase. When you track down your waiter to ask, they claim this is for credit card processing fees, but nowhere on the menu or initial receipt do they indicate a difference for cash/credit pricing. Gas stations do this all the time, but THEY TELL YOU BEFOREHAND. Given theyre a business in NYC, which has more laws than people, Id assume this might be a practice theyd want to halt ASAP.Whats equally shady is they also increase the recommend gratuity on the bottom of the receipt after they silently increase the billing amount. Apparently theyre happy to ask for more gratuity on a portion of the bill thats not even theirs?All you have to do is make it clear on the menu that there is a lower cash price, and there is a higher card price. Most reasonable people know why this offer exists, credit card companies dont give you all these benefits for free. But you dont hide it till after somebody has committed to a ordering and consuming a meal. Thats scummy.

Honestly TERRIBLE!! There are way too many pubs in new york and this one was terrible. The food is terrible. It doesnt even meet the standard of pub food. Everything tasted like frozen dinners. Sheppard pie was awful, nachos was not even real cheese, wings were soggy. And the atmosphere SUCKED! The entire time we were there they played love ballots. It was such a downer!!

Only had drinks here but it was nice. Great little table right near the front of the pub in a little pocket. Window opened up and we could get the “fresh” city air while people watching. Good spot for a pint.

Just a solid Irish bar. Watched a world cup game here and it was perfect, lots of TVs, delicious burgers and nachos. The bartenders are super friendly and cute. Good food, good service good times, and cool artwork on the walls. Good for groups too so bring your friends and enjoy

We had such a great time at this bar on vacation. They played great music for my family (late 60s - early 70s classic rock). The service was fantastic. The young Irish waitress that served us did an impeccable job. If you are from out of town, I recommend the Brooklyn Lager to drink. Check out the menu online. I had part of the sampler, the Rumors Burger, the Rumours Fries and the Club Sandwich on different occasions. All of the food was good. Also, this place had about the cleanest restroom Ive ever seen in a bar.

Nice dive bar. Dont quote me, but Im pretty sure the last call is 3am.Excellent service. Great clientele and atmosphere. Wasnt able to try the food, but Im sure its edible.

Visited on our last day in New York before heading to the airport, which was Thanksgiving. Everything was great! Bar staff were lovely too, chatting away. Definitely would go back when next in NY! 👏🤗

Absolutely love this place. Its my local whenever I am in Manhattan. The food is tasty especially the bangers and mash, yum! Damian (hope I spelt it correctly), and the crew who work there are an amazing crew. Always making sure you eat and drink well. Highly recommended, very highly.

Great classic Irish bar with some of the most friendly bartenders ever. Ordered a beer there once and the bar tendered remembered my order and poured it immediately for me the next time I walked through the door. Long live Rumors!!

Great burger and wraps. Not too crowded when I come by on an occasional Thursday evening. Last time we got them to change the game on one of the tvs. Initially they said they couldnt because it would change them all but then they figured it out and my table appreciated it. Cant beat the prices here if looking for something decent in the neighborhood, food usually comes out quick as well.

The one bar tender seemed rude but the other one was nice. The chicken bacon wrap was meh, it might have been good if I was drunk but I was not. I had fun because I was with friends. Then we bounced somewhere else. If this is a place to meet after an event get a quick drink then bounce sure. But dont make this place your main go-to.

Food is decent, not very good though. Their service is pathetic. They were trying to charge us another 150 dollars for things that we didnt even order. And then when we asked them to check the bill, we were told that if cant afford it, we should not be in New York.

I wanted to like this place…. I really did. They seem like a cool group of people, and they were nice enough. But man…. The food. Granted, yes, I had simple stuff, but man…. Pretty much all of it was stuff you can get in the freezer aisle at Walmart. Cheese sticks were awful, jalapeño poppers were alright, but like I said…. Freezer aisle. Potato skins were okay, chicken strips were frozen, wings were DEFINITELY Tyson…. The only thing that shined was the onion rings. Those were actually really good. The drinks were alright, and the ambiance was kinda cool. But man…. That freezer aisle dinner…. I’d say I’d give it another shot, but I don’t know when I’ll be in NY again.**Edit** 12/07/22: it’s been a while, but I feel the need to re-emphasize after seeing this review again in my profile that, when I say freezer aisle… I do mean it. Some of these items are the $1 box you get in Walmarts freezer aisle. I know because I’ve gotten them from the freezer aisle for a buck. Just… felt the need to say that again.

Mike Nash, the proprietor, is amazing. Embraces the clientele with friendliness and always eager to please.He also treats his staff with the utmost respect. Staff are always pleasant and offer.good service.Good pub food.

Not safe for queer or BIPOC!!! The bartender was rude from the start to my friend, who is Black and queer. Out of nowhere, he said to them, “don’t start anything,” without any provocation. The bartender then physically and forcibly kicked them out and then called the police on them without any reason. The entire time, my friend was speaking calmly and was never threatening verbally nor physically. This is utterly unacceptable.

Enjoyed a nice meal before seeing The Great Gatsby at the Broadway Theatre. Several of us had the Buffalo chicken wrap which was great and came with steak fries. Great menu for my picky family. Lots of draft beer options. Friendly bartender and server. We love going to Irish bars whenever in NYC.

Nice chilled out atmosphere to just unwind away from the bus times square area. Food was lovely. The only downside it did take a little while for our food to come out and we had to ask twice for where my girlfriends cup of tea was.

If you want to have a great time around Columbus circle come check out Rumours. This was my go to spot when I used to work nearby. Their food selection is good. The wings are great! The drinks is good and the music is amazing. I’ve come here to watch plenty of games. I like how they got so many bathrooms so we don’t have to depend on one. They also had a pool pre-COVID . Not sure how it is now.

I absolutely love this place! People and bartenders are friendly. Drinks and food are really good and experience everytime I make a visit here is fantastic.

This place was fairly average. There was too much potato that wasnt cooked in the potato skins. The buffalo chicken tasted of vinegar. The French onion soup was surprisingly good. The service was pretty slow for the number of people working and the number of customers. Wouldnt be a first choice the next time I visit NYC but would work in a pinch.

Had a great Irish coffee (strong on whiskey, lots of thick cream) and excellent shepherds pie. Music too loud for a Sunday morning and only half dozen patrons; made conversation difficult. Pleasant, attentive servers.

They need to hold their staff AND clientele accountable for how they interact WITH LGBT BIPOC. Had a friend come here and felt extremely unsafe due to their interactions. Please do better.

Ran in to grab a quick drink before seeing Apollo 11. Drinks are reasonably priced and bartenders are nice and personable. They had sports, wheel of fortune, and jeopardy on in the background. Atmosphere has the nice Irish Pub feel to it with wooden paneling, dimmish lighting, and lots of irish memorabilia. Would definitely go back!

Russian Tea Room is one of the most iconic restaurant in NYC. I have always been curious about them, but didnt really have had the chance to visit. I decided to take an advantage during the Winter Restaurant Week NYC, and try their Russian cuisine.I might say the rating would be between 3 and 4 stars, but since we got such an amazing deal out of the Restaurant Week pricing, I will give it 4 starts.As we walked through the antique revolving doors under the red awnings, we were in awe of the beautiful décor. I have only seen the inside on photos, but it was as stunning as I expected it to be, or more. It was all gold, red, and green. Everywhere I looked, it was like looking at art. The inside was quite large, and I believe for this reason, they had a work staff station in the mid way of the floor, so that they dont have to constantly walking back and forth from the very front of the floor to the very back. This made the service faster and more efficient. Very clever.Food portion was small, other than the Chicken, which was expected. None of them were amazing or best thing I ever tasted, but it was from ok or up to pretty good.The wait staff were efficient, but not too friendly. The other staff (the ones who take away the plates, refill your water, give you extra bread, etc.) were nice and polite, they did great job keeping the table clean and made sure we were well taken care of.Overall, we did enjoy the experience very much, especially the atmosphere. At such iconic restaurant, I think everything is there to take in the beauty, history, décor, and ambiance more than the actual food itself. Being in that space alone was stunning experience. Nice moment, good beers with friends

Dive bar scene, mainly dudes. Irish theme with simple drinks. Not a bad spot we went there at around midnight and it wasnt super lively but it was an ok place to relax and have a beer.

Awesome place . Came with a date and it felt intimate at our little booth with a candle . A bunch of people in groups too and it looked fun. Lots of drinks on tap and cocktails are done well.

This place is not safe for queer people of color. The staff allowed my queer black friend to be harassed by a white man and took his side. The police was on my friend’s side and that’s saying something…Stay away. Zero stars.

I recently visited Rumours Bar & Grille in Manhattan, NYC and I must say it was a great experience. Its an Irish pub/sports bar and it was really fun. The atmosphere was lively and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and I cant wait to go back and try some of the other dishes. Highly recommend!

Had the Irish stew, wife had the burger. Both were great. Funny thing was we ordered wings and got sour cream instead of bleu cheese... well theyre both white.

Had a week in NY went to lots of different bars, but this is the one we kept coming back to , great bar staff, told the barman it was my birthday and he started pouring shots, cant remember a lot after that!

Dive bar with lots of tvs to watch sports. good for groups who just want a place to chill and have a few drinks since no food order is necessary. mixed drinks are a bit more expensive, but they are high quality. it often gets crowded on weekends, but usually has bad music on weekdays.

Bad experience bad service.We came here on a Saturday around 2pm we had a good time 6 months ago not this time .The bar staff waitress acted like we were not there.She basically told us to leave. Never gave us Menus.waited 45 minutes we got up and leftTHEN SHE DECIDED TO GIVE US menus then.

A perfect Irish sports bar. A wonderful place for quick bite and late night eating. Shepherds Pie and Turkey Burger with French Fries are the best.

My friend was HARASSED by a patron and staff for simply sticking up for themselves. Genuinely, avoid if are a member of the queer community.

Food is very good!! Atmosphere is okay but it’s kinda dark and the music was bad. Staff wasn’t very helpful. The Spanish coffee was awful:(

During happy hour drinks are priced very nice and the bangers and mash was delicious. Its a good place for some drinks and a decent meal.

My friends told me they TWICE were charged non-HH prices during HH, which I assumed was coincidence, until they just tried it on me. Three times just means youre trying to be dishonest.

The bartender & waitress are very friendly. The price includes the tips we decided & the 3 rounds (1 free) & 1 shot of tequila.

Our server was super kind, efficient, attentive, and overall pleasant. The menu was not huge in reference to drinks or food, but that was okay because what was served was piping hot and delicious. The ambience and the crowd seemed like regulars and everyone was pretty chill. I will make it a point to my visits to NYC to go here again and again.

Me and my team - as industry people who work in very fancy hotels - go to this place specifically for outstanding service. Me and my management colleagues from other hotels, bars and restaurants go there just for Sean. He is responsible, respectful, understanding and very good at customer service. He remembers everyone’s names and drinks even if you don’t go there for 9 months! This is unbelievable!Although we are from the industry knowing all the tricks, we feel very special there probably because he puts his heart in his job. It is a quiet and peaceful environment to chill out, nice people, super polite owners. This will never be a disappointing experience for anyone! 💛 We will always be back with more people!

I went there for night out with friends. We didnt get any food just drinks, they are in the $9 - 15 price range. The crowd is a bit older saw some early 30s people in the bar but there is good vibes all around. Theres not a designer dance floor or something to really entice you to come. If you are in the area tho its worth taking a look at

Rumors...... is pricy. Its very basic with all the standard items, but it doesnt have the same feel as a real Irish Pub, and the food isnt that great, and everything is super expensive. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 bud lights one time and the amount ended up being $80s (+tax + tip). We havent gone back since. Theres another legit Irish pub right around the corner, a shot bar on the same block, and a sports bar up the street with a lot more TVs.... that I would rather go to than Rumors.

Friendly staff. And had a great few hours drinking with the wife.

As a pub, it was good. The food was good. The service...eh...not so much! She seemed annoyed that she had to serve us, at all. She barely cracked a smile. We still gave her a very nice tip, as there were 6 of us in our group. I even tried to engage her in light chatter and complimented her to try and get her to respond, but, to no avail. She was also not attentive to our table and we had to wave her down multiple times for just the basic things. We were a group of 4 women and 2 men aging in range from 45 to 66, so its not like we were some kind of annoying or obnoxious table of degenerates or something. We were kind, respectful, and, as I mentioned earlier, we STILL gave her a nice tip.The DJ was good, but the music was just way to loud to hold conversations with each other.Id like to try it again on another day, and see if the service is better, or if its a pattern.

Great pub near Columbus Circle Good food. Friendly bartenders especially Sean. Open evening to 4 am so is a good place for a late night snack and drink.

Nice spot near Central Park with a decently sized location. Unlike other bars Ive been to in NYC , it didnt feel claustrophobic. It had a nice little crowd going Sunday around 4pm and still had a lot of seating.Sadly, there isnt any happy hour on Sundays so we ordered 3 well drinks for $8 each. They were decent drinks.We also ordered the sampler which was good for $13.

Came to town and found this little gem! Loved the dive bar feel and Sean went above and beyond to help my friend and I out when we ran into an issue with a pedal cab! If we are ever back in town will definitely come back to this place!!

Local Irish pub with excellent pub food and a large menu. Guinness is always fresh and I recommend the potato skins and the Rumors Fries. Wait staff is attentive and friendly and the place is clean. Atmosphere is half pub, half sports bar. Beer selection is decent with many on tap, though the selection is very standard.

The bartender Sean was exceptionally rude to myself to the point that my party was shocked. On top of making demeaning comments, he disrespected me in a way that insinuated not only that I was poor but that I was stupid. His comments had clear racial undertones. Frankly, I’m disgusted. I hope you enjoyed your tip, clearly you need it.There was a younger bartender who despite not engaging in a longer conversation, was exceptionally nice. To me it’s obvious that my experience was just tainted by one person, I’d expect a business to demand more of their employees.

Great and cosy Pub with a good choice of draft beers, cider and various other drinks. Always Christmas Music was playing and it was great. You can watch football or other sports there.Toilets wasnt that clean but it was okay.

Our new favorite bar in NYC! The staff is super friendly and they have a good beer selection. Music was fun and eclectic - classic 80s, 90s, mostly. We sat at a table near the open window on a beautiful night and had a fantastic evening just having a few Smithwicks beers. The icing on the cake was when the bartender came over and out of the blue gave us a free large pizza!!! Thanks!

The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting loved the exposed brick and the timeless looking mahogany bar lit up in mesmerizing shade of blue the staff go out of there way to be accommodating and helpful. the hamburgers were absolutely succulent! Ill definitely be back.

My coworker and I would come here often after work for a drink and before you know it hours have passed. Great crowd, good eats and even better bartenders Damon specifically hes the best!

Excellent bar, reasonably priced for Manhattan.

Went to New York for my birthday one year ago. This place was my starting point everyday. Staff were excellent, prices were great. Even better in happy hour. After Covid is done with in England Ill be back. The buffalo wings are brilliant. Can I please have the recipe?? Been craving them for a year, Cant get anything close in UK.

You can get exactly what you expect from an Irish pub. Wide range of beers, some pub food.

Lets just talk about Tony and Brig (actually Irish chick, shes cool). They are awesome! We became friends pretty quick. Great drinks, descent pricing & good customer service! Bar food, and lots of options at the bar. Ill be coming again.

Run of the mill, NYC Irish Pub. Server/bartenders were super friendly (and a Brit and Irishman, for authenticity I guess). I ordered a few pints, and drank them, so I give that 5-stars. Would have given review 5 stars overall of wife didnt prefer a margarita that was in essence alcohol and powdered sugar over ice. Shame on us for ordering a margarita at an Irish pub though; you dont criticize the Shepards Pie at a Mexican restaurant.

Best bar in New York! The two Irish lads were the BEST bartenders we’ve ever had. So much knowledge about the whiskeys and very nice and welcoming. We’ll never forget our New York trip after this bar. Highly reccomend!

Friendly and nice staff.

Stopped by after seeing a show and wanting to get out of the rain. Had a good selection of drinks, and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff were excellent. Would definitely stop in again when next in the city.

Horrible, just horrible. Me and some friends went by for some rounds and food and the manager kept requesting for tip ? This is absurd and it has to stop. Not to mention HORRIBLE customer service

Great bar beer hospitalityedit: I was drunk in the making of that review 10/10 restaurant they go above and beyond with customer service and are extremely friendly.

Theres not a lot wrong with this bar, but nothing particularly right either. The list of beers available is fairly short. The decor is modest but not upscale, and they have a lot of fake dive bar style ornamentation on the walls. Its all very inauthentic and the atmosphere is nonexistent. The best way I could describe it is a suburban mall version of an Irish pub.

Surprisingly solid bar with great ambiance and some impressive menu items (buff chick wrap)

The food was OK, but not worth the price. $13 is too much for bangers and mash, which was four small sausages on a pile of plain mashed potatoes with sauteed onions and brown gravy from a box. The shepherds pie was alright, but nothing special and certainly not worth $14. Probably a good place if you just want to drink and watch the game and the wings are good, but save yourself some money and skip the main dishes.

Great food, beer, music and atmosphere

An interior is really good and close to what I expected. Drinks are fine, but “filling” the cups might be better. But it might be just an American pint.

Surprisingly decent. I was a bit tentative about eating here at first, but there was nothing else to eat around the area on Christmas Eve. The place on the inside was a bit run down. But the value of the food was good considering the price we paid. $10 for a good penne allá vodka pasta sounds like a deal considering you can get the same quality at twice the price at a crappy Italian restaurant. In conclusion, the restaurant isn’t out of this world, but it gets the job done.

Rumours Bar is a nice place to refresh yourself after a ambulation in the nearby Central Park. The bar had a nice relaxed atmosphere (it was a Wednesday afternoon) and the standard (but good) selection of NYC draught beers. The bar has all of the (arguably essential) trappings of a regular bar - some nice beers, food, rustic signs on the wall (also, a photo of Keith Richards from British beat group Rolling Stones drinking in said pub and a cartoon of The Stones with exaggerated large heads) and TVs showing popular American sports.
