Last night at the Roxy Hotel, I found a slice of New Yorks finest. I sidled up to the bar, the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re part of something. Ordered a shrimp cocktail—big, succulent shrimp, cold as a winter’s night, with a cocktail sauce that had the right kick.I was nursing a hangover, trying to take it easy, but the night had other plans. Ice cream followed, a smooth, creamy balm for the soul, and a glass of red wine to wash it down. The wine was robust, full of character, a perfect match for the evenings vibe.The crowd? Pure Manhattan magic. Stylish, upscale, but not pretentious. These were people who knew how to have a good time without making a spectacle of it. Laughter mingled with the low hum of conversation, the sound of glasses meeting in toasts to life and its myriad pleasures.Despite my initial intentions to keep things low-key, the Roxy had me hooked. This wasn’t just another night out; it was a reminder of why we love this city. I’ll be back, no doubt. Theres more to explore, more to taste, and more of that intoxicating atmosphere to soak in. The Roxy isn’t just a hotel; it’s a state of mind.

This place is a bit pricy but the experience makes it worth it. Staff is wonderful, cocktails are wonderful, the pianist is wonderful and takes song requests.Perfect place for a date or catching up with a friend.

Five stars for the music! Weve been coming here for years, and while the food can be hit or miss, the live music keeps us coming back. The atmosphere is incredible, with a room that perfectly complements the tunes. We love supporting this place because the musical experience is always top-notch, making every visit memorable.

The cocktails and the burgers were great! The best overall is the atmosphere, the look of the bar area itself and the live music! Totally recommend this place for a brunch and definitely for dinner or just cocktails.

Fabulous venue with live music most nights. You can walk into the bar, and eat. The tables require a booking.Staff are great, music and sound of a really high standard. Reasonably priced too, given the environment.

Great chill vibes. Good for groups of 4 and families. On my last visit I got the ny strip steak which I give 3/5. Not very tender and the broccoli had a strange taste. However the chicken and fish dishes are delicious. Drinks are amazing.

Roxy Bar near Soho is a gem that feels both elegant and spacious. The super comfortable leather sofas invite you to relax and unwind. The highlight is the jazz club in the basement, which adds a perfect touch of sophistication and live entertainment. What else can you ask for? Its an ideal spot for a memorable evening out.

Roxy Bar offers a quintessential New York experience—an oyster bar with a delightful retro ambiance. The beautiful atrium features a dining room where live piano music and occasional bands create an enchanting atmosphere in the evenings.

I cant say enough wonderful things about this place. I live opposite, so its become something of a second home. You walk into a stunning mid-century building in warm light: an open jazz lounge, coffeeshop, pool table, stellar bar, and fantastic restaurant (with great food). Downstairs theres also a spectacular jazz bar called the Django (Parisian cave vibe), and an old-school cinema showing indie films (if theyre still showing Moonage Daydream, watch it.) And around the back, theres Pauls Baby Grand, one of the best clubs in the city. Did I mention its all part of a hotel?Special shoutouts to Farrouk (the restaurant manager who goes to every effort to accommodate,) and staff members like Allison, Michael, Ishmael, Natalie and Tommy, always welcoming, And of course, Michael Garin, an incredibly pianist and entertainer who takes the seat from 6 to 8pm most nights — and Darian, the suave bouncer at the door of Pauls.This seems like a throwback to the days of New Yorks glitzy 1930s, something like the bar in the second half Woody Allens Cafe Society. An electric atmosphere, especially on the weekends — but still warm and friendly, part of the neighborhood. It’s not difficult to imagine Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers popping up to a dance through the main floor, or Sinatra coming out to sing a tune. Well keep coming back, and I encourage you to do the same.

Very misleading and cagey marketing. We saw this sign thinking that they are offering wines at a discounted price of $10 for Happy Hour. But the bill came, and we realized that we were charged the full price for all five glasses (three varieties). Why? Because, oh, Happy Hour actually only applies to SELECTED wines, which in our case is the only red that we happened to not order, even though not a single line on the wine page indicates that.When we expressed our confusion at the bill, the waiter points at a tiny line on the first page where it says $10 selected wine (why not putting this on the sign too?), and how were we supposed to know which wines are selected? Well, we would have to ask the waiter.We were fine with the limited service here (no one serves the drinks here; we had to bring them to our table, and we didn’t get water until we REALLY asked for it), which is why the necessity to inquire felt counterintuitive, like an intentional scam. If limited service is what you are going for, fine. At least have the decency to list the information clearly on the menu. Now this is just the antithesis of hospitality.At the end of the day this will be a lesson learned from out part because sly businesses will never change.

They still have a delicious menu, and they are as kind as ever. Live music and the best velvety vibe. Live music starts at 1 pm and is perfect! Try the Reuben sandwich, steak & egg, and the French bread sticks 👌

We grabbed some drinks at the Roxy before catching a show on Broadway. The bartender was awesome and the drinks were fantastic! The vibe is classic and cool. I would love to stay here one time as well.

I would give the vibe and atmosphere 5/5. The food is okay. I had to add salt and pepper and some lemon to make my bland avocado egg breakfast a bit tastier! I will go back there again, maybe with friends but I wouldnt be too excited about the food.On weekends they have music which was super fun.

Roxy Bar at the Roxy Hotel is so cool! Cool live Jazz performances in the evening is the icing to the cake!

A perfect choice for an elevated but not too snobby evening where you can dress up and chat in a live jazzy music ambiance. No cover charge for the music makes it more casual that a focused jazz performance in The Jango downstairs (where you cant really chat).Cocktails were amazing (especially Lola and Down in Mexico) and the french fries were the best I had in the past year. We stayed past midnight, time really flew by. But the service stayed attentive and very welcoming. Will be surely back.

We make sure to pay The Roxy a visit every time we are in NYC because we always have a great experience. The ambience and atmosphere is alluring, the food, drinks and service consistently great and of course- the live music - a total bonus.Last Thursday was exceptional as we were greeted by Ebony - the hostess who had a smile on her face and was so pleasant as she seated us. It was evident she loves her job. Our server Hassan was very attentive and provided excellent service.Once again- a fabulous evening at The Roxy. Looking forward to the next time!

Classic American dishes that do not disappoint - their steaks are always on point as is their burger and appetizers. Great live music most of the days. The service depends on the day - but it could be less rushed in general.

Went her last night with a small group of friends to watch the live music. Cocktails and food were great. Good atmosphere and staff was helpful and friendly. Great spot for a Saturday night.

Cool place. We had a late lunch. Lobster roll was delicious as was tuna tartare. Drinks were excellent. Service was not perfect but did not spoil a lovely afternoon.

Solid food and a nice calming jazz performance although not what I originally came for. I originally was going for the Django which was downstairs but I did not realize it was downstairs till I went downstairs which was already by the time I was done eating. The eating area is very nice though and has couches you can sit on while eating.

We had a reservation here last Saturday night and arrived 10 minutes late due to reasons beyond our control. The night was a celebration for my daughters birthday and we specially requested a table so that my pregnant daughter in law would feel comfortable and had a place to sit. We also had family there out of town and expected to have a celebration. When we arrived we were told that our reservation had been given to someone else because we were 10 minutes late! I spoke to both attendants that were managing reservations and was told there is nothing they could do and they gave away our reservation. I explained why we were there and asked for a different table or a way they could accommodate us. There were 4-5 empty tables. They were completely unreasonable and stated there was nothing they could do. I also spoke with a gentleman who I assume was acting as a manager. He also said there was nothing he could do. This establishment appears to be managed by kids that know nothing about customer service or management. Very disappointing experience. Would not recommend to anyone.

What a place!! The atmosphere is amazing - such a buzz. The service could be quicker but the drinks are great - the best Bloody Mary Ive ever had by a mile!After the bar pop downstairs to Django or the cinema - or even just to see the stylish toilets!

Good friends 70th Surprise Birthday Party. It was fabulous. Food, wine, friends was a joyous festivity. Jazz Quartet was on the money. We danced, ate and talked about old times. Roxy Bar was rocking that night. Best place to have fun. Atmosphere is gorgeous. Service is exceptional and the manager was hands on. Ask him anything and he had the answer. Roxy Bar, youre the best.

Wouldnt go here for food if youre at all hungry...we were sat for food and drinks, and waited for 20 min. No waiter. No water. Really surprising. We ended up leaving. I hear decent live jazz music at night though!

The ambiance is perfect. You feel like youve been transported back to 1930s-40s NYC. The lounge and dinning area is comfy, service is excellent, and the cuisine is superb. The rooms are clean and the mini bar has everything you need. The room service Hamburger, and Mac and Cheese were fantastic. I will be back.

This place labels certain items as being gluten free when they are are not gluten free or are cross-contaminated from other items that do have gluten in the kitchen. Irresponsible

I’m always coming back for their oyster happy hour. They have the best oysters- perfect texture and always spotlessly clean.

The front desk person was absolutely atrocious and a racist. We asked for a table and he assumed that we won’t pay for a table, clearly he was under the influence. Would never come back here.

Staff was extremely rude. One staff member would sit us down in one area and another staff member would yell at us for doing what the other employee had said. We sat until 20 min without being seen and when we asked to order a drink, they said the bar was closed and that they wouldn’t be accepting any new orders. The bar was actually still open and remained open for another half an hour, but they refused to serve us

This is a jazz bar set in the famous Roxy Hotel. I recommend getting a reservation, as its hard to get a walk-in. You sit in the lounge, surrounded by floors of hotel windows looking out. The jazz is excellent and the drinks are good too.

Very nice restaurant/bar. Oysters special on Mondays $2 per oyster and $10 some drinks. Awesome ambiance, stage for a band and separate bar. Great overall experience. Movie theater in the basement is a really good addition, you can have a real movie and the dinner experience here 🙂. Roxys cheeseburger is a really good choice, awesome French fries.

My wife and I have been here quite a number of times in the past but were quite disappointed in a recent visit. We went with a friend and the hostess wanted to seat us in the restaurant section but we had made a reservation at the bar and, therefore, expected to be seated in the lounge or bar area. Having turned down the restaurant table, we were left on our own to find a table or stand at the bar. Meanwhile there were empty seats in the lounge.

Some of the worst service in New York, hands down. Which is a shame, because it’s so nice in here. But paying a bill for a sandwich at $40, you’d expect something better. Maybe they’re understaffed.

Overpriced. The place will shut down on you mid conversation, kicking you out and then automatically charging you 20 percent for service. This is a NY tourist trap avoid. Ignore. Terrible.

Had a wonderful experience at the Roxy Bar! Chic environment, dim lighting, overall perfect vibe for an evening cocktail. Sam, Allison, and Katie took great care of me, carefully crafted drinks specific to my palate, and even put their own personal touch on the entire experience. Cannot recommend it further.

The best date night spot someone has taken me! Highly recommend making a reservation and getting a corner booth table - very intimate. Love the live music. The drinks were wonderful, attentive staff and host, bathroom is clean. wide variety of appetizer. I recommend this spot for all of my guy friends to impress their dates.

If you want to feel terrrible after the woman with the blonde hair repeatedly ignores you, serves other people ahead of you, despite her acknowledging your existence 5+ times, go here. What a terrible heart. And what a terrible bar for letting this sort of behavior happen. I ended up walking out. The first time in my 8+ years living in NY I was made to feel 2 inches high.

Unfortunate experience today. I booked here to enjoy a brunch with live jazz and to host my friends visiting from abroad. unfortunately they didnt have live music. I showed the misinformation on resy and their website. (Weekend brunch with live jazz) Overall disappointed and felt really bad as my friends were here only for one weekend.. the food & service was pretty average too. We paid the full price, tipped ~18% anyway. The they offered a desert from the house that we kindly declined.

Good atmosphere, live jazz music, OK cocktails and no cover.The only issue is that the band is playing in an area with very high ceiling - not the best sound treatment. The musicians were wonderful but the sound is very seem because of the environment.

Our kids (2 babies 1yo and 2 toddlers 3yo) that didn’t order and didn’t eat anything got charged to seat at the table with the worst excuse ever - “our reservation was made counting then” and basically they charge per head! It’s outrageous and management just insisted on the way they operate and were inflexible.It’s a shame because a cool place that we used to go and to recommend will never be seen us anymore, or none of our friends that have kids and know what happened.So be mindful if you have kids. They will count the heads!

I’ve been in NY for a long time but haven’t been. I met a friend there who was visiting and it was the best time. The live band was amazing. The prices may seem steep but the drinks are not light and the food portions are very fair.

Love this for an afternoon to work, a game of pool with friends and Martinis or simply relaxing watching fantastic live music for the evenings. We spend a lot of time here on our visits. It is fabulous!

Terrible food and service. Just tacky in general and overpriced. Service was SO slow and after 1 hour and 10 minutes we were asked to leave so they can give table to someone else without us having finished our dinner. Though I did not stay at the hotel, I did enjoy the Roxy Bar after experiencing live music at Django. The bartenders are very attentive despite the business and chaos going on around them. Some nights there is a live DJ playing music at the bar, which my partner and I enjoyed as the music choices were diverse and classic (i.e. old soulful r&b, jazz, etc.).The drink options are endless. They have a menu with drink options for those who need guidance. They also have various options for you to request your own concocted drink.Outside of the bar, there is also an option to be seated and served food while listening to a live band. The wait is usually 30-45 min. but there is so much to experience while waiting to be seated (i.e., the bar, the music, and the pool table mentioned below) that the time passes by quickly.In the outer portion of the bar, there is also a pool table for your enjoyment. Playing pool with my preferred drink and live music in the background was a lovely experience.The bar and atmosphere were so spectacular that my partner and I visited twice back to back. Once by ourselves and twice with our friends. We could not help but want to share the experience. The experience remained just as wonderful as the first!What I loved most is how much there is to do in one building (i.e., the Roxy Bar, live music on the first floor, pool table, Django on the lower level, a theater on the lower level, etc.).Would recommend anyone in NYC to visit at least once!

Edit: After a bit of chasing them down and calling my bank they finally refunded it. Still, way too hard to get this settled.Changed me an extra 450 on my credit card for a birthday party that I didnt authorize. I called in to dispute it and they said they would refund my money back and never did. Have to go through my credit card company now. Incredibly crookded behavior practices from this bar.

The vibe is nice. I had the spinach omelette which was good too. I find it a bit pricey but I would definitely go there again to try other dishes.

Ambiente was amazing, service was very helpful and accomodating. We ordered the Kale Salad and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich (all highly recommended!), as well as the Red Velvet Cake, which was a very nice finish to our dinner experience. Happy to come again.

Horrible, when I made the reservation I was not informed that there is a 1hour and 30 time limit at this place. Only when i came I was told, however the girl at the front desk said that they could let us stay longer if need be. I was harassed by the staff to hurry up and leave after an hour, barely finished my food and drinks... I didnt enjoy the service and how I was treated; the food wasnt good. The staff were mean, gave attitude when asked for sauce. Didnt enjoy not coming back.i spent over $140 on two people, It was not worth it.

Oysters were rotten 🤢 Waitress said this happens once in a while and was not surprised at all🤮🤮 I don’t recommend this place!!!! One cocktail was so bad we had to return it. 0 stars.

All the food was excellent, but their kale caesar is literally the best caesar salad Ive ever had in my life. Its been 3 months since I had it and I think about it daily. Its the weirdest compliment Ive ever given to a restaurant, but it belongs on a pop-culture listicle for best caesar salad in America. Also their espresso martini is 🔥.

Hotel bar in the Roxy Hotel. Very cozy, small menu, but delicious! Very pleasant service! With live music! Absolutely a recommendation!

They were not so attentive to be consistent with the prices but hey there are second chances the drinks and appetizers were very good

Well, New York bars are great, but this one wasnt it. At the beginning you are strictly informed that you only have the table for 90 minutes. It was a shame that the live band stopped playing for 40 minutes just as we sat down... The cocktails were ok, but nothing special. The service was also ok, but not attentive or particularly friendly. I wouldnt come back, but I dont regret the visit either.Next time I would like to celebrate my birthday somewhere where I am visibly valued as a customer.
