The service here was was very good and professional. Its a bit fancy, and there was a mediocre piano player/singer. We were less impressed with the food. It was pretty good, but we expected better for the price.
Visiting New York and happened across this beautiful little restaurant. It was the only place we felt we had to come back to during our short stay (which we did). Our second meal demonstrated that it was not the honeymoon effect of arriving at a new destination! The staff were friendly, very approachable, and willing to help. The place was cosy and decorated for the season (we were around in late January to little hearts and rosy tinsel) and the live piano made for a very romantic atmosphere. And the food… we had one of their specials (chicken on the night), their spaghetti marinara, and finished on the tiramisu. It was nothing short of outstanding. We did not sit in the bar area towards the front of the restaurant but it was lively as we passed through and the layout is such that diners would not know that there was a bar there, making it perfect for dates, birthdays, or any event where diners can just forget the outside world and exist in the meal. When we are back in New York, we will be returning!
Atmosphere is great and always welcoming. We are not New Yorkers but have been going to Rossini’s every time we visit NY, for almost 25 years. Yesterday we had the chicken Marsala and a steak and it did not disappoint. I always have the Caesar Salad and my husband has the bisque. Food was prepared to perfection and the bread and wine were were perfect! Family owned and operated with their special attention to detail! It’s the best of New York!
Thank God there are still places like this. The interior is pleasant and calming; the space is private and intimate; the acoustics are gentle and practical; the service is excellent; the food is delicious which all combines to make a memorable and very satisfying experience. I take out my clients to lunch here all the time and it never fails to disappoint. This establishment is well managed. 5 stars.
This was the best Italian I had in quite some time. I had a long Island iced tea, but the drink wasnt great, but the rum and cokes were good and strong, also really quick. But most importantly the good was amazing. I had fettuccine Alfredo and tiramisu, I just wish there was more because they were so delicious.
Went to this Italian restaurant a week ago. Food was wonderful, and so was the staff. Its an old school Italian place with reasonable dishes and prices and they have been around for roughly 45 years, you cant go wrong stopping by this gem.
The service was great! The food was amazing, including the dessert! In love with everything I ordered. One of the best tiramisu I’ve ever had!Definitely will come back next time☺️
Tre colori salad was insufferably bitter. Risotto with asparagus, tomato and mushrooms was very mediocre but ok compared to the salad, and they charged me $40 for that risotto( there’s no price for the risotto on the menu). Avoid this scum place at all cost!
The food, the Italian wine, the dessert was such absolutely amazing. I have never tried pasta like this before, I have the spaghetti a la carbonara and I really enjoy every minute. Stuff were very attentive and profesional, and the atmosphere pretty nice too.
Grilled octopus is good. The stripe bass and seafood pasta is good. Sautéed onions and mushrooms are good.Serving speed is a little slow on 2nd course. Service needs to be better. This is the only restaurant that doesn’t have honey for my tea among around 300 restaurants in Manhattan have been.
Rossinis is an interesting spot—I appreciated the variety on the menu, but the execution left something to be desired. The ambiance was nice, though!
Definitely a place to come back.10 out of 10 in food quality and service.A place to slow down and have an amazing meal with family and friends.
Was craving Italian food mostly pasta, and came across this place just wandering around. It didnt look busy from the outside but as you walk deeper into the restaurant the tables were all filled from the back. The manager greeted us as soon as we walked in. The wait staff was attentive. My pasta craving satisfied. I had a gnocchi and our table shared the artichoke appetizer and a bottle of wine. It was a Monday night, we didnt have a reservation and there was no wait.
Just an old fashioned excellent vibe restaurant with excellent service and sensational food. Most the staff has been there for years, some several decades.
The welcome inn,is amazing, really like in Italian restaurant.Very good wine, I choose a glass of prosecco, super nice.Than I started with soup of the chef, was pasta e fagioli ,than I proceed with Pollo alla Fiorentina, simply amazing.Close dinner with an amazing espresso coffee.Thank you for having me over here.
Mistake on an appointment we had. Decided to get something to eat. Did not know where to go. Rossini’s was close by. Such a wonderful experience! The staff was very attentive. We were seated in a corner table ( just like in the 30s&40s movies. Wonderful atmosphere. The food was superb. A lovely lunch. We’ll be back! Thank you Rossini’s!! PS - the choice of music was perfect! Frank Sinatra can’t be beat. Only we hoped to hear “You Will Be My Music”, our wedding song. Maybe next time!
Im sick of the recommendation from the magazine and press. This place is supposed to be tried by the acquaintance personnel. Stop by and feel the ambiance.
Great spot in the city for a holiday party! Thank You Rossini’s! It was a pleasure DJ’ing for one of your well known customers.
The culinary experience at this restaurant is nothing short of extraordinary, with each dish bursting with unforgettable flavors. The portions are meticulously balanced, ensuring a satisfying meal from the first appetizer to the last bite of dessert. This place isnt just good; its a gastronomic revelation. Be warned, securing a table can be a challenge due to its popularity, so I highly recommend making reservations well in advance. And if you can, request Xristos as your server for an impeccable dining experience.
I made a reservation to celebrate my Girlfriends birthday. A little nervous at 1st. Hoping it was a good choice. By far the best dinner experience ive ever had!! The food was amazing! The service was amazing! Thanks for making us feel special
Delicious Northern Italian food!! Great host Nancy Martino for planning our reunion party. Will be back.
Amazing atmosphere, we went on Saturday night and there was live piano and opera - amazing. The service was decent but not the best I’ve experienced. But the reason I go to restaurants especially for special occasions is to eat good FOOD. NYC is known for world class Italian food and unfortunately I cannot put Rossini’s in that category. I am Italian American and native to the city and I could list at least 15 better Italian restaurants throughout Manhattan Brooklyn and Queens with significantly better food. It’s not *bad*, it was edible, just not worth $40 for a plate of risotto or $50 for veal at all. Tasted like Italian “food” you get at weddings that people think is good.I would come back if they figure out how to make their food better.
This is a must when in New York. We enjoyed the intimate feeling of the lighting, to the opera singers, to the impeccable service of the staff. I had mussels for the first time, and the white wine broth is to die for. We both had a pasta dish and were pleased.
They have been in business for 44 years, its a neighborhood place, and run by family. Yes, this is what you want.Food: Perfectly cooked salmon with Dijon mustard and capers. Too many cooks think that is a simple dish, and it can be, but then if you dont pay attention, you get rubber salmon. Not at here. It was a lovely medium rare that easy broke to the fork. The butternut squash soup was the special and it was divine. Too many places rely on heavy cream to mask their inadequate techniques. This was light on dairy with a beautiful, sweet squash forward flavor.Service: I was a 1-top because I was traveling for business. A one-top is a pain in the a$$ for most restaurants. Not tonight. Rossinis treated me like I was special. It started as soon as I walked in the door, and it was great service through the whole meal. And, my waiter, Wilson, who has been there for 28 years, made the experience fantastic. You always want the experienced waiter at any restaurant, and he served me tonight. I loved it.
Everything great but these portion sizes are laughable for an Italian spot. Very tiny meals
We went to Rossinis for a birthday dinner after a NYC show. The meal was soon good! We ordered the eggplant as an Appetizer which was delicious and hot! The entrees were equally as good. The colognes sauce was perfection. Seriously just great food in a nice, quiet restaurant with great service! We will definitely go back. A gem!
Very cozy atmosphere and the food is always on point. Nothing spectacular, but always a good meal and great entertainment.
We chose Rossini’s for our first family dinner in NY on Valentine’s Day because it was near our hotel and advertised live piano. Our son plays piano and our daughter is a vocalist so the musical theme spoke to our dynamic. The host was warm and welcoming and the restaurant had a cozy and comforting feel upon entering, with the dining room being at the back, two levels separate by a short staircase. Our table was in the corner and provided a great view of the room, including the pianist. Our server was a younger guy who loosely resembled a young Ray Liotta which helped the ambiance. The waiters wear tuxedos which helps make the event feel special. The room was well decorated with Vday fanfare and the food and drink were spectacular. We ordered calamari which melted in your mouth, pastas in marinara and pesto sauce, a braised pork shank in a delicious gravy and halibut in a champagne sauce. The drinks and wine were great as well. A beautiful feast for our family on Valentine’s Day and we will be back again someday. Grazie Rossini’s!
Lovely place with wonderful staff and food. Hits all the notes well.
I got the fresh green fettuccine with pesto topped with chicken. It was the best meal I had in New York! The atmosphere, food, staff, experience was 10/10. Highly recommend to visit and they make a great espresso martini!
I love Rossinis. I usually get a chicken and vegetable dish - but Im quite picky, and the chef and service team are always very accommodating in delivering exactly what I want. Wine selection is excellent. The menu is extensive without being overwhelming. I make it here about 5 times a year and cant wait to be back!
Everything was good, but food was bit salty.😅
Paid over $350 for 2 for good Italian food but certainly nothing special. Linguine w seafood over $50. Just a simple smaller dish. Too crazy. Go for desert at $75+ if you want the ambiance….but that’s overrated too. Waiters we’re nice, but rushed, and when it got busy it was very slow w mistakes made. I’ve lived here too long to make this mistake.
Absolutely amazing food and wine. Some of the best Italian food Ive had in the US. I am so glad we wondered down here on our walk.
We got the chance to eat here this weekend during our familys NYC trip, and everything was amazing! The food was delicious, the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating even with our four children, who, although normally picky eaters, said it was the best pasta they had ever eaten. The atmosphere was great, very upscale and they even had opera singers to entertain. I would highly recommend it. Thank you again!
Very good Italian food (best carbonara I’ve had in NY) and nice old-fashioned service. BUT lots of screaming drunk middle-aged white businessmen ruin the atmosphere.
I went w my family for new year eveThe food was cold and poorThe server was in a rush making our first visit there not so pleasantAnd to end the nighy w a golden prize…When i go to pick up my new winter jacket , they game me someone else’sJacket.,, nightmare !I was all night waiting from them to call me to say they recuperate my jacket but was a wishful thoughtThey wash their hands and they never recuperate my jacket or compensate me for it and the bad time they make me thru and my familyHorrible experienceThe manager is the worst , she say ahe will buy a new jacket she never did and they never gave me any credit or apologies for itWorst customer service ever!Avoid this place, the food is not great and the portions are small and is very overpricedYou have lot of options around where food and service hold handsAvoid rossini’s you dont loose anything
Worst experience everI orfered risotto and had hairs in my foodDisguating!!!When i mention that to server , he said the hair come from me and not themI will never come back to this placeCuatomer service ia the worst and the manager is always busy to attend your concerns. This place is the worst italian place of mamhattanRun while u can
My husband made reservations for this place last week as we ventured as first timers to NY. Based on these google photos he was thinking it was kind of a kitschy place with authentic Italian food. It was SUPER fancy! And we were totally under-dressed... but the waiters and staff were forgiving of that and so nice and helpful. First off, the building is beautiful, I wanted to tour the whole place. As far as dining, I have never experienced a more well-executed clockwork of service from any restaurant staff: EVERYTHING came at just the right time and never intrusive. They were amazing and so fun to watch. The food was delicious and very fresh, none of the flavors were overwhelming like some Italian cuisine can be, it had a pleasant homemade appeal. I would definitely recommend taking your spouse there for some romance rekindling 😉 (but dress up or you’ll feel stupid)
I was in a party of 4 persons on a regular evening without live music. We had 4 different main dishes (spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti in pesto, Chicken and veal) and the ministrone soup. The soup was really nice but none of the other dishes was exceptionally good or large, so it seemed overpriced and not worth it. The variety does seem good and maybe other dishes would have been tastier. The venue itself seems very classy and cozy. The service was decent although we had to mentioned a few times we would like regular water without ice. When handing the check the waiter mentioned that the service (18%) was already included, which is a bit annoying and wasnt mentioned in the menu beforehand.
Atmospheric Italian “chic” restaurant that seems to have been around for a few decades… A lot of space, very professional and friendly service, reasonably mastered dishes - gastronomic side, so no pizzas… And a wonderful wooden bar where you long to sit for a couple of hours pre or post-dinner. One of the recommendable food locations I visited in Manhattan.
We are from Minneapolis and visited NYC for the first time over the weekend. I chose this place for a late birthday dinner and they did NOT disappoint. The service went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and the food was amazing. We will be back next time we visit & thank you for making our stay in the city a little bit better :)
I stopped in to Rossini‘s late afternoon after walking around the city for hours for some comfort food prior to leaving for the airport. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and it was to die for. The sauce was very tasty and not too thick yet definitely fulfilled my comfort food need. They had just decorated it and it’s beautiful at Christmas time! The biggest thing that stands out to me the staff is very friendly. I will definitely return!
I went there during festive season which means clouded people there. But our order came pretty fast. The atmosphere is very nice making me feel like in ‘God Father’ movie. Service is very professional but yet friendly. For the food, we order 3 starters and 3 main dishes. I ordered mussel and seafood risotto. The seafood is so fresh and it tastes excellent.
This is my favorite Italian Restaurant. On my last visit, I was with 2 sisters, a cousin and a friend on their first Christmas visit to NYC. The waiter was charming and went out of his way to make our meal memorable. He never told us “no.” We split entrees and shared desserts. Just thinking about the taste of the food makes me smile.
Excellent northern Italian restaurant located in Murray Hill. Large selection of pasta items and they are very good about making something if its not listed on the menu. The veal chop and linguini in garlic and oil with sausage was great. Nice selection of dessert...the canoli was fresh and crispy.
Ate a superb dinner last night. I very seldom order a chicken dish when eating out but Im glad I did. Best chicken dish Ive ever had. My wife had the octopus and it was tender and flavored quite well. I did have shorts on but did not feel out of place. We always sit at the bar anyway when we eat out. Its always fun and you tend to meet some great people. Met and talked with a nice couple and a beautiful lady named Mikala who shared her dessert with us. Our bartender was Maryanne and was just delightful. We had a great night and hope to return. Would definitely recommend.
Ice old fashion Italian place.
Great service.Great food.I would go back.
Amazing authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of midtown. If youre looking for the old New York family style restaurant, you will love Rossini’s. The food is delicious and best part was the live opera music. Great service, and warm atmosphere.
Loud space, dull food. Really nothing to write about. We didnt enjoy any of the plates.
Booked a table for 8, smooth reservation process. Large circular table in the main dining room. Live piano player. A bit on the noisy side for a business dinner but would be great for a date. Veal a la Rossini was excellent, as was beet salad. Good wine. Solid service. Great value.
Lovely Italian restaurant, waiters dressed in dinner suits made it a very nice vibe.
Super cool restaurant. The type of restaurant you only see in movies. A true italian piece of culinary real estate. Food was amazing, the staff was elegant and very helpful.Check out the wall of celebrities pictures that have enjoyed Rossinis dinning experience.
Absolutely the most tender piece of chicken I have EVER eaten. Incredible appetizer of eggplant, 2 kinds of cheese, and various other yumminess! The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was great! I cannot say enough good tho he about this place!!!
While the food can be a little inconsistent with quality and taste, I think thats what makes it authentic. The carbonara is an absolute heart stopper but I always grab a little bowl of it. The staff is so wonderful and is one of my absolute favorites in midtown. What are you waiting for, go enjoy!
Wonderful Discovery -Rossinis is so much more than a fantastic meal (the food was awesome) and impeccable service, it is a truly engaging experience!Awesome dinner show! The entertainment is 1st Class, there wasnt a Broadway tune they didnt know! Very fun evening!!I would recommend for a date or for groups.Great energy - theres nothing like it that I have seen!!!10 STARS
One of the worst dining experiences Ive had! The lasagna was made with sausages and canned tomato sauce. Whats even worse is that the food is super expensive and awful.
Two main issues as to why I would never dine at this restaurant again. First, is the lack of service at the bar. The bartender was more interested in chatting and drinking (yes drinking) with her regulars that taking care of me. I had to be the one that always asked for something. Second, I had ordered iced tea and to my surprise she charged me for refills without telling me. Then, when the bill came I questioned the charge and all her response was sorry we always did that. So, unless you plan on being a regular and want to be ripped off with $5.50 for each glass stay away from this place. There are too many restaurants just as good and do not charge for iced tea refills. She should the advised me in advance and did not…poor service and not offering to remove the surprise charge.
Have been a Rossini’s customer for years . The food is superb and the attentive staff is well heeled and make you feel very welcomed . We have been pampered by them whether a party of 4 or holding an anniversary dinner for 30 ! Victoria and her husband Bruce bring enjoyable opera and American standards as well as personal requests right to your table on Saturday nights . Your special evening starts with a warm , genuine greeting by the owner or a family member that starts a most enjoyable evening .
What an amazing experience we had at Rossini’s tonight. Not only the food was excellent, but the service was top notch from beginning to end.My wife and I are visiting NYC for a night, and we feel so lucky we came across this place. The spaghetti carbonara is probably the best I’ve had in my life, and my wife’s gnocchi bolognese was beyond delicious.Since the moment we walked in, we were treated like royalty. The ambiance is quiet but warm, and there are even live singers who come to your table to ask for any special songs you may wish to hear.If I were spending one more night in Manhattan, I would go back to Rossini’s without any doubt!
My friend and I stopped here for lunch, the service was fantastic but the food fell short. You pay for the ambiance and the white table cloth experience. I wasn’t impressed.
Terrible service, pasta was chewy and undercooked
Traditional Northern Italian food. Nostalgic Italian restaurant with a bar. Entertainment included when went on a Saturday night. Good food. Street parking. No outdoor seating.
Unexpectedly good Italian American restaurant. The swordfish was excellent, great service and the opera singers are a pleasant addition. Not cheap but worth the money.
Delicious. Service was slow, but the food was fantastic. A little over priced by the portion size, but still really good. There was a piano player the night we were there. Super classy.
Absolutely delicious! Ambiance was delightful, the piano player excellent, and the service was very good. A fine restaurant.
Authentic. Simply.
What a great place with great staff! Enjoyed the food so much!!
The food is amazing!Especially the pasta Alfredo, you do have to order everything individually but worth it. Tried the pasta with Gamberi allá Rossini and it was amazing jumbo shrimp and my boyfriend had the gamberi fra diavolo
My Fiance and I were wandering around in NYC looking for something to eat. I dont eat meat (Dave does), so we were looking for a place that could accommodate my food preferences that had an open kitchen. We stumbled upon Rossinis and walked inside because Google said they were open until Midnight. The owner was standing towards the exit politely thanking guests as they finished their meals, ensuring that they had a top notch experience. There was live music with opera which sounded beautiful and added to the atmosphere. Their kitchen was closing but they gestured for us to come inside because they said they couldnt leave us out in the rain. We were greeted by half a dozen smiling wait staff who were all dressed in tuxedos. They offered to make us anything we liked, even if it wasnt on the menu. They served us fresh bread with a delicious side of bruchetta, a great appetizer to a delicious meal. They made me a delicious Fettucini Alfredo (full of vegetables, which I asked for), and made Dave Chicken saltimbocca even though it wasnt on the menu because Dave doesnt eat veal. Even though most people were leaving, they encouraged us to finish our meals and not to rush, as they wanted to make sure that we truly enjoyed the experience. Some of the staff proudly said that they had worked there for 18 years!!!! (Rare in todays restaurant industry, for sure!!) If anyones looking for a great meal while in NYC, Id definitely recommend Rossinis. Thank you for a great meal and for saving us from the rain!!
Fantastic Italian food with top-notch service with a cozy atmosphere. Best shrimp fra diavolo I have had in memory. Staff really know proper table service. Highly recommend.
We love this restaurant. Its a family restaurant thats been in the neighborhood for over 40 years. The food and hospitality are top notch. They know I love osso bucco and had it as a special on the menu the night I came in. Highly recommend.
Have known Raymond since my early teens , lived around the corner, been to Rossinis numerous times , always making sure Raymond was NOT there as I would go with a couple very tough guy friends that Raymond knows and I never ever wanted to be offered anything free or have him think we were there to shake him down, class guy as well as his brother and sister , class family classy place great food
It was amazing! Super good!!
Overpriced
I LOVE Italian food, and Rossinis does not disappoint. The food is amazing (and always comes out pretty quick), the service is great, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I hope to be back soon!
IF YOU LIKE GARBAGE, YOULL LOVE ROSSINISI live in the building above this restaurant and have occasionally eaten here out of sheer convenience, sometimes ordering one of their specialty pizzas for delivery. I have always found the food to be nothing special, below-average to average, the prices high, and the service slow and indifferent (although the bartender is very nice and tries hard). But, its right downstairs, and sometimes you just get lazy and hope theyll improve. After what happened this evening, though, I will never bother with them again.i ordered a pizza for delivery, asking politely that they not overcook it as they often do. When it arrived I was shocked--it was burnt beyond recognition like a piece of charcoal. Worse, the toppings were DISGUSTING--stale and smelly meatballs and sausages indistinguishable from each other or from very old turds. I never considered eating it. I threw it directly into the garbage. Annoyed, I called the place back up to express my astonishment that they would have the nerve to send up such inedible crap, stating that I have spent money there before, always tip well, and did not deserve such treatment. The phone person was apologetic and offered to send another one. I told him I didnt want another one--the sight of the first one had ruined my appetite. I had just wanted to express my unhappiness and was about to hang up when he said he would send the deliveryman back with my money. I thought that fair and thanked him. Except that 40 minutes later he had not come back (a fifteen-second elevator ride upstairs). When I called back again I pointed out that I had not asked for my money back, so if he was going to offer a refund the least he could do was make good on it. He replied that he had sent the man back but that no one was home (?) and appeared to consider the matter resolved. I asked to have the money left with my doorman, and was hung up on in the middle of the sentence. Minutes later a different delivery person returned with my money, but said he would have to return with the uneaten pizza. I told him he was welcome to retrieve it from the garbage--the refuse room was right behind him. He then stated that this was not going to be good enough. I told him to keep the money and shut the door in utter disbelief, shellshocked by this epic display of bad food and worse customer service. Apparently, Rossinis intended to re-box the pizza and sell it agin--thats the only explanation I can fathom for their insulting request. Its clear that Rossinjiss is an oblivious relic, content to cater to its crowd of gullible tourists and aging taste-budless bingo players with its staff of arrogant hacks. Shame on them.
Eggplant starter delicious. Pesto pasta delicious. Service and atmosphere wonderful. A great find, just walking by. We would go back.
Great atmosphere. Food was really good, but not as good as I wanted it to be. Though, I DEFINITELY recommend the hot and cold antipasti. Amazing.
Always great with an amazing processional staff. Go to this locals spot in Murray Hill and you wont be disappointed. Avoid the tourist spots that charge a lot and serve marginal food.
Amazing. All the reviews are correct. This is a hidden gem. Wonderful service, ambience and the food was fantastic. Our new go to Italian. Highly recommended!
Great bar and dining room. Surprisingly large and very cool looking place .This is the bad wedding food posing as “Italian” that Mario Batali (credit where it’s due) saved us from 25 years ago. All the entrees come with the same sides: a scoop each of mashed potatoes and frozen vegetable medley. All of our dishes, though different, were finished with the same sauce. We had trouble picking wines and so the waiter tried to explain to us that Barbera and Barolo are the same thing. We’re all certified wine professionals. It was an awkward conversation. The same waiter also very skillfully banged us out for a few little extras here and there and our bill came to over $700 for the three of us.The place has its fans but it’s a one-and-done experience for me.
This place is exceptional. Fresh ingredients, wonderful taste and good service. It is also a lively place with live music and singing. Two tables are celebrating birthdays and makes the place more cheerful.
We had a waited with a horrible attitude that ruined the experience but not to take it out on the chef, food was amazing and Id go back....using a different waiter or waitress.
Classy place with an old school NYC atmosphere, friendly and professional staff and always looking out for you. Food is cooked to perfection and excellent choices of wine.
On Sept 7 2018 asked for an appetizer order of cacio e pepe (pardon the misspelling) to split w my wife. Got spaghetti w olive oil and cracked pepper. Not right! But ate it anyway cuz we don’t like confrontation. Then got the bill and was charged $28.00 for this $8.00 side order. Waiters were almost combative when I pushed back and asked for explanation. Ruined the meal. With soooo many great Italian restaurants in NYC who know that the customer comes first, don’t waste your hard earned money here at Rossini’s.
Excellent experience with staff, food and ambiance. Also enjoyed the pianist.
Wonderful experience we had a few appetizers including delicious oysters and faboluous delicious Apple martinis, great ambiance and service
This was the most delicious Italian food I’ve ever had! The service was impeccable too, for an overall memorable experience.
Great food, Atmosphere was nice , live piano music was a classy touch. Overall excellent dinner. Definitely recommend!!
Good service. Food was decent.
Throw back Italian restaurant. Good food, good service by tuxedo clad waiters. Very old school but enjoyable.
Been here a few times and never disappoints. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Highly recommend
It is an amazing restaurant with an amazing variety of expertly handcrafted food. I highly recommend going to it the first chance you get. One of the best places to dine in all of Manhattan
Exceptional food and service. The tortellini was excellent.
Decent Italian food. Seating arrangement is a bit awkward for tables for two because they put you on the same side, but otherwise the service is polite.
We have been here many times. Service is always phenomenal. Some favorites are linguine and clams and rigatoni filetto (tomato + pancetta = yum).
Best Italian in the city. Flawless in every way. Best risotto youll have in your life.
We had a fantastic meal. The caesar salad was great. Wait staff were very attentive and professional. Would eat there again for sure!
Expensive en still hungry after our diner. Taste is nothing special.
Slow service, average food lacking flavor, nice ambiance though
Absolutely fantastic. Great food and service. First night restaurants were able to reopen from Emporer Cuomo and they didnt miss a beat.
Outstanding, authentic NYC Italian restaurant. Calamari, Caprese salad, Ribeye on a savory risotto/pilaf, pumpkin cheesecake - all were excellent.
Great Italian food...awesome staff. Attention to detail. You will not be disappointed. Old World Italian served the way it should be. Everything is delicious.
Amazing food and fabulous service. Atmosphere is great, piano player while you dine. You wont be disappointed.
Old school Italian restaurant food was great and service was fantastic just needs a little bit of updating on the interior other than that had a great lunch
Massive disappointment. Indifferent service. Everyday salads. Fish was neither fresh nor properly prepared. Noisy.Warning: may be overrated on Google.
Never expected it to be this good. Traditional Italian dishes prepared with fresh ingredients. Veal Milanese a must
Great, old-school service with classic Italian food. Watch your wine though: the 2014 we ordered ended up being a 2016!
Lovely ambience, great food, and attentive service. The trifecta of eating out. But the opera arias and piano made it a superlative experience.
This place was fantastic - a real hidden gem! Delicious food (I had the veal with lemon sauce and a tasty glass of the house Cabernet), attentive and courteous wait staff, and a comfortable and warm ambiance was a pleasant find for this restaurant that I found on the Open Table mobile app.
Rossini offers an authentic Italian experience with tuxedo-clad servers, a coat bar, and a great wine selection. The service is incredibly attentive and fast. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We had an incredible evening enjoying the best veal chops we’ve ever had. A true must-have Italian experience in NYC!
Amazing food!!! Great service especially from Chris! Everything he recommended was so good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy an Italian meal!!
What a wonderful Restaurant in the heart of Manhattan. Took my baby here for her birthday. The restaurant is classy and has a great menu. Service and staff are wonderful.
Amazing proper, polite, professional service. Real neighborhood Italian. And as expected, the food was amazing, but even this is eclipsed by the atmosphere and the people.
The food, ambiance, and decor are all quite clearly derivative of the classic Italian-American style here at Rossinis and I loved every minute of it. One of my dining partners remarked that the layout of the restaurant was very classy in an old-school-cool way, and another said they felt they were transported to the restaurant from the movie Goodfellas. All hyperbole aside, we had a great time here. It is very formal, so do not underdress. We all ordered a variety of dishes including seafood, steak, and pasta, and the consensus was that they were all delicious. Comfort food is how it can be best described...everything is very savory.Drink selection is great too, however if you are used to dining at places that have set drink menus like myself, youll also be surprised at the lack of one here. However, although there are no true house cocktails, the bartender could mix every drink we asked for (negroni and french martini to name a couple).I recommend Rossinis for those looking for a very formal and upscale Italian meal...Best enjoyed with a large group like family or friends since the tables are huge!
Good Italian restaurants. It’s fine dinning with limited vegetarian options. But the service is great and recommended for a good experience.
Great dinnerFabulous experienceThe staff is PROFFESIONAL beyond expectationExceeded in all aspects of great dining!
Tried gnocchi, melanzane, sautéed red snapper, tiramisu and fruit tart. Flavors all on point and service relaxed but efficient. Will return!
Its a real nice place for a cozy dinner. Food is delicious. Staff is very attentive. The service here is simply impeccable and as good or better than some Michelin Star restaurants.
I absolutely love this restaurant. The service, food, and atmosphere is amazing. This is my go to place to eat amazing food
If I had not been there on business, I would have boxed up everything to go and eaten all of the leftovers again the next day. But, alas, I had to act like a human being.
I was excitef to go here. For what it is, its over priced, the pasta was over done and the wait staff is rude!
Very nice and cozy restaurant. Food was amazing. Service was excellent. Thank you for the crew for this nice experience.
Impeccable service, delicious well portioned food. Order at least 3 courses, its worth it.
Pleasant traditional Italian restaurant. Efficient service, courteous waiters and good home style cooking. A surprise 2 opera singers for entertainment. You must try the berries cake. Not sweet. Just perfect
Excellent atmosphere, quiet & calm, real Italian food, delicious and lot of range in wine selection.
Old fashioned Italian...good food .and the 2 opera singers were exceptional... felt one is in Milan watching an Opera !!!
Very good food, good service and atmosphere, but a bit pricy - $90 per person typical.
Classic NY Italian dining
Way too overcrowded! Food was good, but too loud and busy to enjoy it!
Unbelievable foodie experience! Great food and wonderful service! I feel like royalty!
EXCEPTIONAL FOOD, even better service. Worth every penny. Old world charm. Definitely try this.
Great Italian restaurant. Attentive service and the food is fantastic. Loved the canole!
Wonderful dining experience and top notch service. The pianist was a lovely touch
Always a great food and ambience. The classic decor is a plus .
Excellent traditional Italian restaurant. My friend who took us there has been dining there since 1979 and I can see why, the food and service are excellent. There is also a good wine list.
Amazing food, great service, no place like it in NYC. A must try!
For god sake make sure you tip very well as our tip was returned and they asked us to tip more. Food was ok but think it was very over priced
Fantastic Authentic Italian Restaurant. We were greeted at the door by the owner who brought us to our seats and summoned a waiter. After we were seated, we were immediately offered drinks and asked if we would like to see a wine menu.Ordered our appetizers first and told the waiter to hold on putting in the main course order until we were 100% finished with our appetizers. Every request followed by a real professional staff.Food was outstanding and the staff, owner included, was warm, gracious and accommodating to any/all of our requests. Plus, a bonus, opera singers filled the dining room with music and cheer.Want cheap Italian food? Go to Olive Garden.Want real Italian food with ambiance, come to Rossinis. You will not regret it.Reservations recommended...
Miss their place in Brooklyn. Ray and his crew never disappoint. Love this place.
By far, one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the City. The vibe is formal (people wearing T-shirt & jeans will feel out of place). The food is excellent and the service is always professional. The restaurant often has a pianist & singer on Friday/Saturday (call to confirm), which ads a special element to the experience.
What can I say, it’s the best. Ambiance, service and the food is amazing. Try the gnocchi bolognese.
Old time upscale Italian. Convivial professional service, lovely cocktails and nice music make for a relaxing classy evening
The best authentic Italian food in mid town I have ever had.
Classic elegant style, with a great old world charm and excellent food. A pleasure to visit
Our party of six really Enjoyed our service, our food and the ambiance. Very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. Our first time visiting and we’ll definitely visit again. We definitely recommend this restaurant. Compliments to the chef (chefs kiss).
Classy upscale Italian, excellent food and service. Great spot
The food was supernal, and the ambiance is best described as classic old-world charm! Cant wait to come back again!
Excellent food and service! Rare place with old NYC feel.
Food as always was so good.
Everything was really delicious, authentic NYC Italian style restaurant.
Great authentic food! Loved it… Atmosphere is lovely… live music… definitely recommend!
We had the best meal in NYC here. My kids ate everything and proclaimed it 10/10. We will def go back to try more items on the menu. Atmosphere is perfect. Waiters were great.
Rossini’s is great. There is nothing not to like. Food is fantastic! Never had a bad meal. Atmosphere is civilized, relaxed and refined. Service is incredibly polite, efficient and personable. It’s a wonderful NY old world gem not to be missed. Have brought others here and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Couldn’t more highly recommend.
Exceptional old school Italian restaurant. We had a veal dish and carbonara pasta with tiramisu for desert. All tasty and perfectly prepared. Service was excellent as well. I would go back.
Do not go here if you’re hungry. portions are ridiculous $30 for 10 noodles. extremely disappointed
Great food. Sausage and broccoli rabe still bangin!
This Italian restaurant was pretty good. The service was outstanding and the meal tasted fresh. The decor feels a bit dated.
Great food! All around wonderful atmosphere!
One of the last great traditional Italian Restaurants!Enjoy the Frutti di Mare!
Awesome authentic Italian cuisine.
Food was ok for the price point. Service was great. The place needs renovations badly! Find a different spot
Perfect Italian restaurant, food staff and atmosphere spot on.
Food is very good, but a little on the expensive side. Decor is right out of 1982...the interior could use an update. Staff are all very nice.
Surprisingly good. Was a bit worried after reading reviews and old school Italian vibe (being a bit old school myself). Food was good, especially numerous specials. Staff was friendly and attentive. Prices were typical upscale NYC. Will be returning soon
Old school Italian with great seafood, lots of specials and superb service.
Very friendly staff, old style Italian restaurant, a great place for a nice relaxing meal
Pleasant atmosphere and quality food
With so many choices in NYC.. This is the real deal for an Italian Dining Experience
Nice staff and good food! Feels like a family place
Lovely East Side restaurant. Fine food and service. Loved the opera singers. Expensive, but worth the splurge. Appetizer, salad, sntree, wine, coffee and dessert cost around $100 each.
Perfect old world Italian restaurantNever loses it charm.
The food and service was EXCELLENT. A wonderful experience!!
It was amazing dinner
Amazing food!!And staff
Food was very good but service was subpar.....
Food was ok, staff were friendly. The prices were a bit too high for quality of food. Stale grissini, tables too close to each other.
Dinner was delicious and servi e was wonderful
Great atmosphere and food! Beautiful service and ambiance. Soooo glad we decided to stop for dinner in Midtown. Classic Italian digs at its best!
Had a dinner there.Loud room, slow service, small and not especially tasty dishes.
Really great restaurant! The food it’s Italian, You field like You were in Italy!Service excellent and fast, space very good, right on the center of Manhattan! We went there two dinners and it’s a must go restaurant in NYC.
Great old school Italian restaurant. The pistachio cheesecake was amazing!
Old-school delicious. Exactly what we were looking for.
Classic, old-school Italian dining. Dress nice and enjoy the excellent service, entertainment, and attentive waitstaff.
Amazing food and amazing service! Very authentic Italian in a cute, rustic setting. Can only recommend.
Excellent experience all around.
This place is amazing so if youre ever in New York you must go
Excellent food and service .Always enjoyable!
Couldnt be a better night out w/ friends. Food was incredible, service gracious, bill reasonable, and parking right in front of restaurant (after 7). Go w/ the specials they offer. Always have and never not have enjoyed more tasty Northern Italian dishes!
The wait staff paid no attention to my party, I had a problem with my order and it was not taken care of properly.
Excellent food, great service. A bit expensive but worth it.
I have been in going to this is place on and off for,40 years.. one of the top restaurant in NYC.
Classic Italian, flounder with livonessa sauce was phenomenal cant wait to go back theres a pay phone inside for you old schoolers same owner for over 40 years
We chose to dine at Rossini’s on Saturday night because that is when they have the piano and opera singers. We were not disappointed, they were great. The food is outstanding. I had the shrimp cocktail appetizer and my wife had the baked clams, both were very good. My entree was the red snapper and my wife had the veal Romano. They were excellent. Our food came out fast but we were not rushed. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you can, go on a Saturday for the singers. It was a great evening.
I have no idea how this place has good reviews. First, I ordered a gin and tonic and was given a vodka tonic, Next, the salad is small and the lettuce was old. Finally, I have never had bad scallops in NYC until this place. You can smell the fishy-ness across the table. These had to be a few days old. For what they charge, everything should be fresh. I almost want to call the health department. The only thing good here was the coffee and dessert.
Best Italian meal ever. From the service to the excellent food, this is a New York institution not to be missed. The best Fettuccine Alfredo Ive ever had and my partners Seafood Pasta had so much seafood that we couldnt see the mound of pasta underneath.
Had amazing pasta!
