Really cool and small bar. So chill and the drinks taste amazing
Absolute hole in the wall. absolutely love it. great cocktails. fav vibe but will be busy on the weekend. bring your ID. super creative cocktails and funky vibe. a touch of brooklyn in manhattan.
Great small spot with great drinks, and wonderful bartenders. Nice pool table and good crowd...
This place legit looked closed down from the outside. Walked in, and it was great! Hidden gem. Very hole in the wall feel. It has a nice clean atmosphere, with maybe 4 booths and a long bar set up. Somehow the duct tape on the booth added charm. Nice cocktails, 4 types of draft beer. If I am in Chinatown again Id definitely come back.
Love this little bar tucked away in Chinatown. Great service, friendly bartenders. Chill place - you don’t feel like you don’t belong, and you don’t feel rushed. You can even bring your bike in (as long as it’s not crowded) if you’re like me and care deeply for your bicycle 😄I haven’t had the food here, but they have Malaysian jerky and pork buns on the menu which I am a fan of. I’m assuming they must be good because they are in Chinatown - right next to the great spots making these foods. Can’t wait to go back and try out more drinks and bites.
If you’ve never tried the Fong’s Colada, just be prepared to potentially fall in love with it (P.S. shoutout to Georgia aka the best bartender everrrrrrrr)
It looks like a dive bar but its just more than that. The Place is small but not overcrowded with tables and chairs. Drinks are great and not too pricey considering its Manhattan. If you are around, step in and get a drink you wont be disappointed.
Very unique atmosphere tucked away under the bridge (although be prepared for a train noise if seated outside). Great neighborhood vibe. Fantastic, friendly bar staff and creative drink menu. The tequila zombie with Sichuan peppercorn infusion was one of my favorite drinks of all time. I cant wait to go back.
Drinks & vibe are fun + lovely. Friday night music is perfection.
Its too bad I dont live closer to here. Totally my vibe, totally my kind of crowd and totally my kind of drink menu. Fongs Colada is one of the tastiest drinks Ive had in a while! Staff super duper friendly and on a desolate street. Welcome to NY
Chill vibe! Very good atmosphere with just the right music volume
This is a great place for afterwork drinks, a date, or a 2 am nightcap. The drinks are reasonably priced, and quite good. Signature drinks can be very sweet, if youre into that kind of thing. The best part about this place is the music, theyre all over the map with tunes, and can go from 50 Cent to David Bowie with little warning (awesome, I know). Just be careful, it gets a bit crowded in here during busy hours. Also, no food.
The perfect hangout by yourself or with friends. I went with my cousin and his friends - the vibe was mellow and funky all night between the music, lighting, and team.. I would recommend!
What a nice little find, its been on my list to try out but I have not found my self in the area in need of a bar till now.Ill start off with the staff, who are all super friendly with great sense of humor even when the place is busy. The bar its self is small and does get crowded. Drinks are good and priced in the middle of the road for NYC.We where there on Saturday night, no queues unlike a lot of places and the atmosphere was pumping. Fueled by the great music being pumped out by there DJ.The rest now is up to you, if your looking for a spot especially on busy nights in the area I would suggest giving this place a shot. Have fun.
Mr. Fongs is a great bar choice in Chinatown that has a really cool vibe and decent drinks. The outside is unassuming and we even walked passed it looking for the entrance. Once inside you’re greeting by a warm interior, potted plants, a cool jukebox, and some affordable drinks! The cocktail prices are around $12, which is pretty competitive to other cocktail bars in Chinatown. I ordered a Tequila and Flowers, which was a good drink, not outstanding. Would love to come back and try the group drinks, but would need to come earlier to get a table as the small bar tends to get packed!Come here if you want a cool low key vibe and some decent drinks with friends!
This is a cool place to hangout- great music, cool mix of people, and interesting drinks (not too $$). I got the Salted-Plum Bourbon drink, which Im sure would have been amazing for someone whos into Bourbon, and the Green Tea Daiquiri, which was so good. Its a cozy place that would be great for small groups or just a couple of people. If you want a seat, you probably have to get there before 12.
The vibe reminded me of a classic LES dive/rock and roll-type spot. I was there in the late afternoon and had a couple beers but the few other people were ordering cocktails that looked good. Velvet Underground and other NYC punk on the stereo - neighborhood bar by day more rocking in the evening - thats my guess. Seemed like my kind of place.
Great service and a nice atmosphere, but the place needs a little TLC. Or a lot. Its run down, and the bathrooms are all but destroyed
Well worth the walk deep into Two Bridges-pleasantly surprised to find an oasis behind an unassuming facade. Even when packed and at standing room only, the bartender still made sure to take my order promptly. Potentially my new favorite neighborhood spot. Unique and original vibe, definitely will come back!
I had been wanting to come to this bar for so long and since I am moving from New York I finally decided to check it out. Unfortunately I am so disappointed by my experience or lack there of. I arrived with a small group of friends to a bar that was barely busy and was purposely ignored by the bartender for over 10 minutes who would look at us (my friend and I are poc) And proceed to serve other patrons who came after us. We left without getting acknowledged or getting served. A very unfortunate experience for a bar with such a promising vibe
Amazing cocktails - we had a moscow mule & a green tea cocktail both were excellent - decent price point. We liked the weird 60s movie that was playing on the projector
I honestly really want to like this bar, I really do. But every time I come here the staff is pretty rude and pretentious as well as the customers in it… Drinks are fine but might as well go to a dive bar at this point..
The cocktails they serve are not bad, however do not go if you dont/cant drink alcohol. I was there with a pregnant friend of mine, the menu doesnt include any non alcoholic drinks, and when we asked, we were told they didnt have any options without alcohol. No effort at all to even create / suggest one drink without alcohol, which is outrageous.
Cool little bar for happy hour with a friend who I havent seen in a while. She had a beer and I ordered a taquila cocktail, which name escapes me... it has flowers in it and a slight spicey kick. Plenty of cocktails on the menu that are mildly priced, if taquila isnt your jam. Got there at around 630p when it was still quiet and made small talk w/ the funny bartender.I read people describe Mr. Fongs as a dive and while it might be as comfortable as one - its a bit nicer than most dives Ive been to. They also serve some pretty good food from the looks of it.
This has been such a great and welcomed addition to the neighborhood. Its my favorite place to stop by after work or bring friends who are visiting. It does get crowded at night, but the bartenders keep up with the pace and its still a fun vibe.
Went here with a friend and my only complaint is that I don’t live closer to this bar because wow. This place has a great vibe, better cocktails, and wonderful bar snacks.
Cozy dive bar, especially in the winter when the windows are frosted with snow and have the gleams of the street lights adding a glow to the inside of Fongs. The drinks are quality. I got a cocktail called Fong’s Colada (I think was the name) even after the bartender mentioned it reminded him of a coconutty pad Thai. He was spot on (but in a tasty way!) and it remains one of my favorite cocktails to date. Side note: Somehow everyone here is attractive including the staff.
Stopped in here a day ago for drinks and quiet time before Fourth celebrations. Tom the bartender was super awesome and personable. The pickle plate rocked. Highly recommended!
Great drinks, awful five years out of college crowd. The best time to come is for happy hour between 6-7 when the space is at its calmest to avoid the high-pitched WOO girl crowd that overwhelms the bar afterward.
Great hole in the wall bar with buzzy art vibes. Had an excellent whiskey sour but the music was a little bit too loud.Would definitely come back.
Cross between a dive bar and a trendy setting. The inside has a really good atmosphere. The bathroom is divey. Came for casual drinks and Mr Fongs delivered. Spent around $50 for 2 beers and 2 cocktails.
Nice chill urban city vibe. Friendly staff, and the candle was delicious.
Worst service.Hopefully it is a one off problem by one particular bartender. I hope they will have better bartenders cuz the vibe there is amazing.Till then, beware the poorness of service there can sometimes ruin your night.
Cute little bar. The staff were really cool and made me something to eat even though it was quite late. Appreciate it.
Not a very fun bar for a saturday night if you are expecting lots of people or any dancing. They did have a few dogs inside for some reason though. Thats a plus!
I love the tequila and flowers cocktail 🌸This place always has good vibes, my go to for a late night drink!
Mr. Fongs is divey but clean with a fun selection of Chinese inspired cocktails. Right under the Manhattan bridge its a great place to start an evening.
Meet me at Mr. Fongs during off hours. The seclusive bar comes alive when its chill with a sparse clientele. Linger and smooth your mind over with couple cocktails. This may become your third place.
Went for a quick drink to celebrate my twin cousins 21st birthday and the vibe was vibin😊 The candles, the music, the scent of the bar, the bartender, EVERYTHING was a vibe. Think of low-fi music as a bar and thats pretty much it. I never got the name of the bartender I had for tonight but he was awesome and very polite. Always asked us if we needed anything and if we were enjoying ourselves. He even charged one of my cousins and my phones😁 I hope he gets a raise 😊
Cute small bar in Chinatown. They have techniques sl1200s in the dj booth but the dj that night wasnt using them. They also dont have a serve-your-self water.
A hidden jem! One of my friends suggested it. I loved the food and the drinks were quite interesting! Great place to get together with friends for an evening!
I love Mr Fongs.
So torn about this place. Loved it when it first opened, and its still a great low key spot. But they got ride of my favorite drink and its just not the same.
I came here for lunar new year from Chinatown for their Asian inspired drinks which were good and very cheap compared to regular Manhattan cocktails!
Chill in just the right way. Thoughtful house created cocktails. Fongs colada with tamarind flavorings was a refreshing summer drink.
Great dive in the Chinatown area. Can be busy of the weekend but not a bad thing. Definitely a locals place
Very friendly service. Not a great beer selection but they have amazing cocktails.
Too many lads tho
Unique bar in Chinatown with cheap drinks but no AC. We left after one drink because it was too hot inside
Met up with a group of friends on a Friday night for their going away party. Accordingly, we had a couple tables all to ourselves, which was nice. Fun early aughts throwback hip hop and R&B kept everyone dancing and singing. Everyone went after the mezcal carrot drink which was good but varied person to person. Forget what I got but it was good. Not the carrot drink.
A hidden gem of a bar. Well worth the visit for an incredible atmosphere and affordable prices.
Low key spot to grab a drink. Interesting decor and a solid drink menu make for a great date spot.
Unique spot on the Chinatown/Two Bridges border that has a great ambience and well made cocktails
A nice little bar in the city. The bathrooms are neat.
Very mellow on the weekday nights
The drinks we just ok. But a cool little place to meet up with friends
Love the vibe. Dark, new, hip. Bartenders a little tude-ish but youll get over it.
Fantastic atmosphere and cheaper drinks!Great crowd
Truly the most underrated Gem in Chinatown. There is no other bar that combines the laid back cool of your favorite dive bar with just the right amount of sophistication to draw in the most eclectic mix of artistic, hedonistic patrons.
Loveeee Mr Fongs! I always have a good experience at Fongs. Love every drink on the menu. Everyone must try a Fongs colada! It be bussing!
Chill spot with cool drinks.
Cool spot for great cocktails
Good late night spot. Can get super packed to a point beyond sober tolerance levels
One of my absolute favorite bars in manhattan! Cheap beers, scorpion bowls are a fun novelty thing if you’re into liquor on fire. A lovely time here always
Awesome little speak easy hidden off east Broadway behind a nameless door. Goes off.
Really cool place. Nice decor.
Great vibe. Great drinks. Unexpected location.
Inept cocktails, absolute ripoff. Horrible staff.
I love Mr.Fong’s. It’s a little dive bar right near the bridge in Lower East Side/Chinatown. I come here often for the chilled back crowd.
Great spot, mix of dive bar with classy cocktails. If you find yourself here, sure to have a good night
Great divey atmosphere, definitely a locals bar. And the cocktails are quite good, too!
Looking for the right amount of hard chill at 2 am in a strange part of town? Good.
Great music, appalling wine and surly service.
It was a nice atmosphere with good drinks.
Great service friendly staff, and good drinks
Fun bar, cool jukebox, and good for when 169 bar is packed.
A few of their cocktails are made with peppery liquor so be wary if thats not what youre in to. Nice to find a place that isnt overcrowded and has reasonable prices. Artwork hanging on the walls is cool. Dark red booths were cool and the music was cool too. Very happy with this place.
$10-13 cocktails, which is very reasonable for the area. hella loud inside but chill outdoor patio seating. bartenders don’t vibe you out and feel very wholesome—apologize for waiting long, etc. don’t bring outside drinks. the old fashioned is ($10) straight up just bitters and bourbon so it’s a good cheap option for getting lit. i live across the street so it’s reasonable for my needs. nearby dumplings, golden diner and cash cigs.
Wow is all I have to say! We thought for sure we were lost as we all consulted our phones/maps to find the place, but the GPS said we were there. Its very inconspicuous, minimal signage, and totally worth it. Really enhances the feeling when you finally walk in. Small, tropical, speakeasy vibes. Focus on delicious cocktails. Really nice decor.
Drinks are kind of pricey and the music is WAY TOO LOUD.
Came here Sunday night. Cozy, laidback, and welcoming atmosphere. Great music and cocktails. Wonderful staff. This bar is a gem.
Great place to grab cocktails in this neighborhood. Perfect for grabbing a post meal drink after Golden Diner.
So good
A great, friendly corner bar. The bartenders are very good and can handle the busy bar! I reserved a table for my birthday and they were very accommodating. Would highly recommend this off the beaten path bar!
A guy I was briefly seeing introduced me to this place, and I was really pleased. We came around 8 on a Friday, and it wasn’t very busy until 10ish. This is definitely a great find. The drinks were moderately priced, but the atmosphere was very relaxed. Seems like most people come here after a long day at work. No creepy people at the bar! And a cool design bathroom.
I like the atmosphere here but when we went it was hard to get the bartender’s attention (she seemed to be deliberately ignoring us), and no one checked for proof of vaccination which made me uncomfortable
Bar with reasonable prices. Tasty michelada.
Very easygoing spot for a drink with a great vibe
Friendly neighborhood bar in the soul of Chinatown. Good, chill vibe, and crucially not overrun. Reasonably priced wines, beers, cocktails. Cute bartender with beard. What more could you want?
Short but fun cocktail list. The snacks are great. Love the pickles and the pork buns even though Id hesitate to call them pork buns.
Mr Fong’s is exactly what is says on the label. It’s low key, it’s not huge (so it can get crowded), but the bar staff a lovely & make a decent drink
Go to watering hole in Chinatown. Enjoy phenomenal old fashions in the dimly lit ambiance amongst the cool lower east and street wear crowd. Playing all types of rap and dance music in the evenings, this has become one of my go to spots in lower manhattan.
Simple no frills bar in the Lower East Side. Great drinks, friendly staff and only a stumble away from my doorstep. Im happy to say I got to experience the dancing bunny. Usually she just stops 2 or 3 times, but she was definitely digging the music today.
Great, friendly atmosphere. Excellent service. The server was also friendly and attentive despite a full crowd.
Went there late night one evening. Drinks are good. They have cheap cans and drafts to nicely designed cocktails. DJ was spinning away. Great space... though it was tight with lil sitting area.
Cool vibes and good drinks. A little too pricey for me though
Best bar. Rum and ginger cocktail with five spiced rum. The most amazing spicy dark and stormy around.
Damn; welcome to the dragons den, get ready for the smoke show. If the stiff drinks werent reason enough, the handful of 8,9, and 10s will keep you anchored to your seat until the G&Ts start working. The kind of place you think about half way around the world...
Cute spot. Great music. Nice bartenders, very attentive.
Cozy. Hip. Drinks and bar snacks are great.
Great place to chill and hangout; great prices
Clean, Easy listening, Good prices, good vibes and the best drunk food. Other bars are close by, most likely you wont see the crowd from this bar in the other bars😉😚
A hole in the wall if thats your thing. Lively with good drinks and staff.
The spot
Not sure why this is given such high ratings. Its ok. In the middle of nowhere. Feel the place is not really clean. Bartender touches money then just grabs olives with his bare hands and puts it in my martini. Id consider this a dive bar, but with higher prices
Tasty drinks, nice atmosphere, and amazing bartenders
Great little bar to relax at for a couple drinks with friends. Not pretentious, always a plus, and drinks are very reasonably priced.
Fun spot with good vibe and not overly crowded on weekends. A bit out of the way but if youre in the neighborhood definitely check it out !
Great place that you may not find, loved it!
Great bar
Underground and chill. Great cocktails 🍸
Average drinks, cool atmosphere
Cute place with good drinks, hidden forsure i walked past it twice without realizing
Great place to drink and hang with a young vivacious crowd. I would give it 4 stars, but the Jukebox didnt work right.
This bar is pretty denk! Outta the way, kinda hidden, veo nice cocktail selection and great cozy atmosphere
Ended there randomly on a trip, great service, reasonable prices. Loved it!
Just arrived at this place 5mins before it opened only to be roared at by the most aggressive barman. Appalling behaviour. Walked away...dont waste your time.
Ginger beer and Malaysian beef jerky was really good. Their fongs colada tasted like thai coconut curry.
Dive bar with friendly staff and great selection.
Really cool vibe and atmosphere - the cocktails are great and not too expensive
Best martini I’ve had in nyc
Great bartenders... Michelangelo and Carmen are the best.
Great vibes, good drinks, also the sandwiches they serve are amazing.
I am by no means a dim sum connoisseur, but i have been to few different spots around chinatown and i have to say this was my least favorite. the overall quality of food was lacking along with variety. the carts that were being pushed around seemed to have the same mix of food on them. my chinese friend ended up having to just order/ request the couple of dishes that we were looking for but couldnt find. we also got an order of beef chow mein, while a generous portion it was lacking in overall flavor and tasted a bit burnt.to further echo the my fellow yelpers, service here could use some improvement. i get it, usually people dont drink ice water at dim sum. but it doesnt mean you should stare right through me when im waving my empty water glass at you.this is a large space, so it was easy to get a table, but id rather wait in line at jing fong than come back here. there was a general feeling of dirtiness.
Incredible cocktails in unique Chinatown location. Beware it can get crowded- visit in the off hours to really enjoy.
Dive bar, open till late. Good cocktails!
Good bar good drinks good staff
Hot, small bar, and pretty crowded. The drinks were affordable, but there was only one bartender.
I dream about the Mr. Fong’s Colada.
Crazy packed but great drinks and crowd
Amazing cocktail
Amazing Drinks! Good vibe!
Great spot to grab a cocktail before dinner
One of my favorite weeknight spots
No sign. Good stuff though
The drinks are a treat, the place is worn to the bone, and I wouldnt bother with the appetizers.
Kinda dark, kinda loud bar. However, its a clean bar in Chinatown.
Cool place. Not cool prices
Bartender gave my card to someone else
Really cool vibe and atmosphere
Divy bar in area
Fun drinks and atmosphere
Great music, cool vibe
Cool place, interesting drinks
Favorite bar in China Town
Good dive bar vibes.
Best Monday night ever

Hidden gem of Chinatown
Thanks
Fongs is the best
Small and boring
This place rocks!! 🫡
So beautiful
Excellent food
Dive, dive, dive ......
Great
Nice
There is an ID check at the entrance, and the store plays loud music. A glass of slightly younger white wine costs $8, which is cheap.
My favorite bar in downtown Manhattan, very good atmosphere
A hidden place in Chinatown. Very relaxed for a drink
Departure from Manhattan
Group
Rock
Lots of vibes
Hipster bar
