This is my favorite place upon entering NYC from the George Washington Bridge. Its on 178th I forget the name of the street but its one st down from Ft Washington. The Bistec is one of my all time favorites!!! Service is great, food is crazy good and if you happen to be in the area GO EAT THERE! Parking is on the street wherever you can find it. Bathrooms are clean and I should have grabbed a coffee but didnt this time. I highly recommend this place!!

The food in this place is more than AMAZING. I have never had such a good. Every time my husband and I go here we get it. I really wanted to give Mambi a 5 star rating, however, the service really sucks. It is a very busy place and the waitresses don’t acknowledge you and leave you waiting for a long time. Usually, they give customers toasted garlic bread but they tend to forget it and you have to ask for it.

Great Dominican restaurant in little DR. Very reasonable for what you pay. We got a cubano, roasted chicken, and goat guisado—all were very tasty, and the goat was very tender. Great service even though they were busy. A little noisy but tolerable (I’m hard of hearing so may not bother others) Would definitely go back.

My mother in law always raves about this place. Visited her and we went to Mambi. We ordered white rice, beans, and fish, a piña colada, and a fried yuca ball with meat filling. All of the food tasted good. The next day she asked what do you want from Mambi, I said bring something different to keep tasting their menu items. Every visit we order something else and have yet to be disappointed. Its a tight space so I would order to go. I would also look at the food and or menu before even asking for help simply because things appear to move at a fast pace. Even so, I assure you they will take their time with you if you need it.

I was in the Heights and wanted some mangú, found out about this place by searching Google maps it was right across the street from the IHOP my 4yo wanted to eat so I went and right away you get a sense of community. Reminded me of the vibe of restaurants in Dominican Republic. It was mid afternoon so I didnt think theyd have mangú, she told me they did so I ordered it. Im not exaggerating when I say it is the BEST MANGÚ IVE EVER HAD. It was SO smooth but not watery, it had a a great texture and was just perfect. My eggs and cheese were made to order. Great service, was in and served within 5 mins if that. Just great. They have a lot of food choices too, Dominican cuisine. They have meals, cuchifritos, sandwiches, beverages (natural juices and smoothies too), a bar I didnt ask but Im sure they have desserts. If youre in the heights and want some AMAZING Dominican food for a good price Mambi is the go to. If you go before 11am you can get the mangú for 4$, I paid full price for after breakfast and it was still worth the money.

We frequently order from this establishment during the pandemic. During that time we ordered 2 or 3 times a week. We were big supporters of this business during a time they needed it most. Now that they are doing better they refuse to deliver to this area. We are located on 190th and broadway. Our neighbors and locals are very frustrated regarding this sudden change. The food is great but their service is horrible. We made a call recently expressing our concern. We asked for the manager and waited 10 long minutes for someone to get on the phone. The tone was unpleasant and at the end the manager said that it was his decision that there is no more deliveries to our area and that’s final and hung up the phone hard on us. We are very upset at the treatment and the lack of consideration. Local businesses should not conduct themselves in such a grotesque manner to those that support them during these rough times. It is sad that such a great restaurant has such horrible staff working there.

As someone trying out DR food for the first time I enjoyed the breakfast menu where it had fried cheese and salami and the onions. It was really good and their chinchirros was also really good. Their other snack menu like the fried meat croquette like items cant be said the same either it was a bit dry when I got there or maybe its just me not enjoying it due to different taste buds. I would rate it around 3.5 to 3.8 if Im being honest. I went there on new years and they were still opened and they did their best to provide their service during a busy time.

This spot is great! A juice bar, coffee counter an old school diner and a bar in the back. They have a whole variety of Dominican dishes and also had a chinese dish the day we were there. They gave us a taste and it was good! 10 pm on a Wednesday night and the spot had a vibe.We had bacalao with rice, bistek, rice and beans, bacalaitos, fried cod fritters, malta to drink and leche cortada and flan for desert.Bacalo: dried cod fish in a stew.Bistek : thinly aliced beef steak braised in spices and topped with sauteed onions.Leche cortada: slow cooked sweetened milk thats burnt a little. There is an Indian milk sweet similar to this .Nice late night spread the bistek was tender, flavorful and onions perfectly sauteed. The bacalao is a full plate. It is a salty fish so be prepared if you never had it before. The bacalaitos , cod fish fritters, was prob my fav. Light, not greasy and full of flavor. It would make a nice snack.

Update.... Sadly I will never eat here again.. Two nights ago I was served dinner and wasnt even given a glass of water!!! 20 minutes had passed and I got up. Left the food and demanded a cheque...The food is always good really good.. but. Theres something Lost in translation. With a Dominican speaking food server who doesnt understand in America you are just that a waitress to be tipped based upon your attention and your service. somehow waitresses have the feeling that they are in their kitchen in Santo Domingo and can choose to service who they want and still expect to tip I find Im constantly ignored waiting for someone to give me a bill The waitress is not looking at your progress as youre eating¡!! theyre not paying attention to your needs during the process!!!. This is a classic failure for an American waitress or really in any country.. who is not looking at the person that youre serving to see what else they need and to see if they can finish the meal with an additional sale... its not the way we do business in America... I think they need to teach them that that youre not in your country Youre in America and youre serving sometimes American people.. usually were not used to such a thing. I think theres no malice involved its just a learning curve on who your actual customer is and what they require and the food is still a great place I eat there on a daily basis because my car is parked across the street in the garage and I will continue to eat there.

While the food here is great their service and pricing needs to improve. I have been about 5 times. I tend to go to a location numerous times before putting in a review. I order the same thing every time rice and beans with roasted chicken and can of Pepsi. Four out of five times Ive been here I had to tell the waitress my order again, three of those four I had to repeat it a third time. Im Dominican and I speak Spanish perfectly. I dont understand why they cant get a notepad and pen and write it down. You might as well write it down on a piece of paper before going in and giving it to them so they can remember. As stated before their pricing needs to improve. I ordered the same dish five times around the same time (lunch break) and all five times they come with different prices for the same dish. Once I was charged 8 including soda, taxes. Second time it was 8.75, then 9.50, 10.35 and last 11.25. They dont give you a receipt they just go punch in the order in the computer and and tell you the price verbally. Other restaurants near this one charge yoy about 8-8.50 for the same order.

One older server lady there cant understand me, I asked one of the guys to translate it for me and then when the guy left and she is just speaking Spanish, she started shouting and calling me Stupido just because I cant understand her. I respected her because she cant understand me but what she did is unexcusable. CHANGE YOUR SERVERS!
