Really chill place! Great place for catching up with friends or a quick drink. The bartender was lovely and the atmospheres was relaxing. Would definitely recommend!

Came here because they had Pickleback shots and my,friends really wanted to have them. They were good, came at the right time on a Monday because it was trivia night. The losers of the first round got a free fireball shot. Good place.

Cheap drinks and good music, but the bartender on Saturday night was not hygienic at all. The bar was not that busy so the one bartender was in the corner talking to what seemed to be regulars. She was obviously sick, and one of the regulars even offered to bring her soup the next day to help her feel better. Despite her being sick and constantly blowing her nose and touching her nose, she did not wash her hands at all. I ordered a vodka soda when she had a tissue up her nose, she went ahead and made it, did not wash her snotty hands at all, and grabbed a straw for my drink with those unclean hands as well. This is very unprofessional and unsafe. I now feel like im coming down with a sore throat and illness, probably because her germs transferred from her blowing her nose to making my drink and touching my straw.

I loved this place. I had a lot of fun with great drinks. The bartender was awesome, the music was fun and the people there made our time eventful.

I recently visited Mamas Bar, and it was a fantastic experience. The place has a cozy vibe thats perfect for a chill night out.Mamas Bar has a warm and inviting feel. Its not too fancy, just a great spot to relax and enjoy yourself.The staff at Mamas Bar are super friendly and attentive. They made me feel welcome. Quick service and genuine to make my night great.The drink selection at Mamas Bar is good. Classic cocktailscool place with a friendly vibe, great service, and awesome drinks. Whether youre out with friends or on a date, its a solid choice for a laid-back and enjoyable night. I recommend checking it out!

Great place to watch a game. Happen to go on a night most people were speaking in sign language so it was quiet. Apparently, that group meets there once a month. Pretty cool bar.

Bar with a decent sized amount of drinks at cheap happy hour prices. Loved the peanut butter whiskey shot. No food available here but there is an abundance of food spots around the neighborhood.Bartender was very nice. Has two large and clean bathrooms.

Nice little bar. The food is decent for bar food. I suggest getting the bacon cheeseburger. Also ordered their chicken wings, but felt they were overpriced at $9 for 3 wings not too mention there was way too much lemon seasoning on these wings. The place itself is laid back and the drinks are good.

I received the worst service I have ever encountered at Mamas bar. I really dont like leaving negative reviews but the waitress basically told our party to leave the restaurant for no reason besides her terrible attitude. When my friend and I arrived, she immediately came over and demanded that we order something, even though we didnt have a chance to look at the menu because we got there 30 seconds before. Immediately after she brought our drinks over, she brought us the check and stood there until we paid. We thought that she was rude to us, but when our friend arrived later she really turned it up. As soon as he sat down, she came over and went on about how you cant sit down if youre not ordering anything. Mind you, he just arrived. He tried to defend himself and say that he was going to order something, but she basically told us to leave, even though 2/3 people there had already paid for their drinks and the third was obviously going to buy something as well. If this explanation doesnt seem coherent, its because it was a very bizarre experience. As someone whos worked in a service job, I get that you have bad days and dont want to be nice. But to actively drive paying customers out makes no sense.

Great little place - they have everything from cans of Strongbow to herb-infused liquor! - with cool lights and awesome music.The chairs are kind of irritating to sit on, but thats not what you go for.

This bar used to be great. Great people and great vibes. Then they got a management change or something. Went back several times since and the large social crowds are gone. Its now a dive with no redeeming qualities

Great music and relaxed vibe all the time. The small open space often turns into a dance floor after a boozy brunch. Buck Hunter. Pickle backs. This place is a classic Ave B spot.

Mamas Bar needs new furniture. I hate going places and the furniture is shaky, the high tables.The Mac and cheese came out and looked like it was microwaved and previously frozen. The chicken was great but no blue cheese. They just ran out. My problem is the service. I got water and it was white and foamy at the top. When I asked the waitress why she replied its probably a bunch of soap AND SHE LEFT THE WATER. when the male waiter came by I said to him. She said there is a bunch of water in here. Can I have a new one. He got it but I didnt drink it. When the bill came out, I was also surprised.....

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but it was perfect for playing some card games - a quintessential dive bar. I wanted to give a special shoutout to our bartender Josh. We wanted cocktails and without the right ingredients he did his absolute best to improvise and the drinks turned out AMAZING, genuinely some of the best we’ve ever had and he is so so nice and friendly, checking in on us throughout the night. Can’t wait to be back for their game night!

Been going here for years. Great dive bar. Not sure how I feel about the new marble counter tops.... Too cookie cutter for a place with a gold toliet.

Ok dive bar, but the most redeeming part of the place is you can order a fantastic fried chicken sandwich from the neighboring restaurant without having to dine with the foodies next door.

I work here. Its a classic LES dive bar.Come spend your money (its pretty cheap, so not even MUCH of your money, lol) and Ill make you a drink!

LOVE this bar. Most bars will water down drinks during happy hour or just in general. But not here. Bartender is super friendly and attentive. Drinks are inexpensive. Their jello shots are amazing.

Idk if its more on the bouncer or management telling the bouncer to do it, but this place was way over capacity. Could barely move when I walked in. An accident and emergency just waiting to happen.Everyone I talked to that participated in the bar crawl voiced similar opinions, so its at least a reputation negative

I would recommend Mamas. The food was good and the price was ok. The portion size was huge. It filled me up! And thats not easy to do. The service was very good! The bartender was having some kind of drug induced emotional melt down and provided some entertainment but other than that it was just a country style potluck. Good filling food.

Mamas is a super divey bar. Not my favorite. I was there on a fairly empty night and yet the few people that were there seemed quite odd.. Dont know if this is the same place as the one that serves food.. But didnt see anything that looked remotely edible. The drinks well priced though. Dont think ill be coming back here.

Literally the worst bar I have been to in New York City, including the extremely dirty Mars Bar (RIP). The bartender was rude, overcharged me for a drink when he had stated the price earlier, and took a long time despite the fact that the bar had maybe 10 other people in it. Additionally, when I went to pay- I only had a 20 on me (bought two whiskey cokes)- he said the total was 20$. Since a 20 was all I had on me, I handed it to him, and turned to go sit at a table. He then has the nerve to say to me This is only 20 dollars, I said the total was 20, I expect a tip. I was completely baffled. Dude, a tip is optional, and given your behavior you dont deserve one. Climb down from your high horse, this isnt a ritzy joint- its a crappy bar in alphabet city...you arent kidding anyone. Additionally, the decor was stained and gross- not worth the 20 minutes and crappy drink I paid for.
